Holiday rentals with a fireplace in West Lothian

Moira and Ian were more than just hosts. From the very begining they made us feel like we were at home. The place is not only impecable and warm but coupled with the kindness and awesome disposition of Ian and Moira made our stay just perfect. If anyone ever wants to travel to Edingburgh, I will definitely recommend this as the first choice. Thank you both for making this a great stay for us.

Lift or stay here, I came with two teenagers, we went to visit the Kelpies, Falkirk wheel, we jumped on the train. I went to Glasgow and Edinburgh, we drove to the Forth bridge and the Queensferry Crossing- it was a perfect location! The train station was Next Door. We loved our accommodation - I cooked nights, and we had everything that we needed. There was a fabulous welcome hamper which included milk bread and eggs, thank you so much. We extended our stay while we were there, and we would definitely go back and stay again. Thank you so much for a fabulous stay x

What a surprise. Stopped on my motorbike trip, when contacted it turned out he is a biker, friendliest guy to deal with. Offered to drop me off to the city centre and collected after my pub tour at agreed time. Place very cosy, with unique decor and, modern toilet, good shower, massive sleeping antresol, place to chill outside. Safe, quiet, good access to main roads. Breakfast was delicious, mix of traditional English/Scottish and Continental, just like in top hotel. Sometimes you find a little gem where you wouldn't expect. I will be back for sure. Dawn and Robbie’s home was beyond amazing. They were very welcoming hosts. The home was very spacious, close to everything in town and had everything we needed. We would love to visit again!

Ashleigh’s house was perfect for our group. We were two families with 5 kids. The house is set up wonderfully for children. And the adults had plenty of our own space to visit in peace. The walk to and from the train station is very manageable down a little canal path, and there’s a playground on the way. Beds are comfortable and the house is full of amenities. Plus, Ashleigh is a great host and goes the extra mile with her welcome gifts and kindness.

Lovely place to stay, the Accommodation is fantastic & the Host is great. Communicates promptly, definitely recommend.

Clean and cozy place, she left some eggs, milk and cookies that were really convenient. Comfortable bed!

Dawn’s flat was perfect for our four night stay! Really well situated, with lots of shops and cafes in walking distance. The flat is well equipped with everything you need and was immaculate on arrival.

Pasamos 3 días en casa de Sabita y nuestra estancia fue estupenda. Tenía todas las comodidas. Las estancias son amplias. La decoración es moderna y funcional. Se puede aparcar en la calle fácilmente en la entrada de la galeria que conduce a la casa, lo cual fue muy cómodo. A 5 minutos andando hay un supermercado muy grande y también la estación de tren para el tren que va hacia Edimburgo. Se encuentra en el área residencial del pueblo así que es una zona muy tranquila.

It was a great experience. Amanda’s place is beautiful, with modern furnishings and an amazing view. The location is very central, yet it was still peaceful and quiet. We stayed there with our baby, and she had no trouble sleeping. The bed was large and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything you might need. It truly felt like home. I couldn’t recommend it more.

Wir hatten eine unfassbar schöne und erholsame Zeit in Karen's Unterkunft in dem sehr idyllischen Ort Burntisland. Eigentlich wollten wir direkt in Edinburgh unterkommen, was wir uns allerdings nicht leisten konnten. Als wir dann in Burntisland ankamen, waren wir extrem positiv überrascht und haben uns schnell in den kleinen Ort verliebt. Im Endeffekt fanden wir es dort sogar besser als in Edinburgh. Nicht nur ist die Stadt sehr praktisch via Zug innerhalb von 40min zu erreichen, die Züge fahren auch sehr regelmäßig. Der Ort selbst ist klein, aber fein. Alle nötigen Läden, kleinere Imbissbuden, Cafés oder Restaurants sind vorhanden. Am meisten hat uns allerdings die abwechslungsgreiche Natur gefallen. Man ist direkt am Meer, hat hinter sich den Wald, eine schöne Anhöhe, deren Ausblick es sich definitiv lohnt sie zu erklimmen. Der Fife-Coastal-Path führt über mehrere solch kleiner Orte an der Küste entlang und der Abschnitt um Burntisland herum ist einfach fantastisch. Große Empfehlung!

We stayed the last four nights of our stay in Scotland at Lorne and Frank’s place and it was a great way to finish off our trip. Their home was absolutely gorgeous and they were great hosts. The one thing that my wife and I commented on over and over again was how comfy the bed was. We loved our stay in Stockbridge which is such a lovely and vibrant neighbourhood and this unit was such a great home base for all our adventurers. There are lots of pubs, restaurants and shopping nearby and city centre is very walkable from this location. There are also lots of bus stops you can walk to quickly to get you to just about anywhere you want to go.

Ally’s place on the Royal mile was incredible- it was such a beautiful place extremely clean and the views were unbeatable! How amazing to be in the center of it all but still able to sleep like a baby!!

Kelly couldn’t have been a more hospitable host - and her flat was perfect for our week’s stay in Edinburgh. Her recommendations were excellent and she was flexible and responsive. Couldn’t have asked for a better host!

Stayed here for 2 nights with 5 other adults - one of the best decisions! As a start, check-in was smooth. Everyone has their bed, towels which is great. Had to figure out the heater (our country is Summer all year) and Lukas was very responsive. This location is almost a straight drive to the city centre. With free parking at the location, it gave us great relief to know we won’t get penalised. Love this place! I would recommend this to others.

we have just left Howford house after a lovely 3 night weekend stay to celebrate my husbands 40th. we were a family of 14 adults, 2 children and a newborn baby and we had the most peaceful comfortable stay. the house is fantastic, it has everything you need and the location although super private and peaceful, it was near restaurants, the coop supermarket, Traquair House and land which we got discounted because we were house guests, and lots of walks and hikes. the surrounding acres were stunning with the frost and autumn leaves. we all loved our stay, the kids (and the adults) didn't want to leave. special thanks to Elaine the housekeeper who was brilliant with her communication and help. we will recommend and be back in the future.

We had a fantastic stay at this Air BnB – it truly felt like a home away from home. The house is beautiful, warm, and welcoming, with all the thoughtful touches that make a stay extra comfortable. The hosts were incredibly helpful and responsive, making everything seamless from start to finish. The location is perfect – nestled in a peaceful area but just a quick hop onto the motorway, giving you easy access to both Glasgow and Edinburgh. We highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone visiting the area and will definitely return when we travel back. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Suzanna und Derek haben uns freundlich in Empfang genommen und uns alles ausführlich erklärt. Wir konnten etwas eher als zur angegebenen Zeit unser Gepäck abstellen. Insgesamt war alles so, wie beschrieben. Ein wenig Besteck wäre toll gewesen :-) Wir haben nicht danach gefragt, ich bin aber sicher, dass Suzanna uns damit ausgeholfen hätte. Portobello ist ein netter Vorort von Edinburgh, direkt am Strand gelegen. Es gibt gute Busverbindungen in die City. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind ebenfalls zu Fuß erreichbar.

This house was exactly as advertised. Spacious and beautiful. Perfect for two families. Check in was easy and Jacki was very responsive.
