Holiday rentals with lake access in Wairarapa

Joanna was a lovely host, incredible location too!

Such a tidy, spotlessly clean house! We loved the location and appreciated how new everything was (very fluffy towels!). Our 11-year old daughter absolutely loved the loft space! Pamela was so helpful and flexible when we had to suddenly change our booking the night before we were due to arrive (our dog got sick!). We were so grateful for this. She and her family were so lovely and welcoming when we arrived, too. The location was great, bordering on Virginia Lake. We felt a little cool both nights we stayed there but were grateful for the heatpump. The house was a good size for the 3 of us.

Kate’s place is absolutely gorgeous. Right next to the powerful surging Tasman Sea with its stunning black sand beaches! We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a tranquil, quiet, private getaway to an incredible coast. Cozy, tidy and clean accommodation with lovely decor. Just wow.

Wow! The photos don’t do this magical retreat justice! We stayed during autumn and the colourful leaves reflecting on the tranquil pond is majestic. The use of the kayak and row boat was an added bonus, as was two evenings of a campfire! Originally we had only booked one night but I am grateful we changed it to two! The bed was like sleeping in a cloud (I imagine so, anyways). Suggestion to others: bring your wine and cheese board for dinner. Limited cell phone reception.

The accommodation was exactly as described. In a tree lined street, quiet, cosy and just what we expected. Philippa is an awesome host and more than happy to give local tips. Would have no hesitation in recommending this property to those looking. We had a great, relaxing, stressfree break away. Thanks Philippa - Brendan & Jenny

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful and well-equipped property. The house was spotless, cozy, and perfectly located—close to town yet peaceful with stunning views. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the outdoor area was great for relaxing. One highlight was the spa pool—a great addition to the property. However, the water felt a bit over-chlorinated, which meant we couldn’t stay in for more than 10 minutes at a time. That’s just a small detail in an otherwise perfect stay, and I’m sure it’s something that can be easily adjusted. Overall, we highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Ohakune. It’s a wonderful spot, and we would happily return in the future!

Kay’s place was perfect for our stay in Napier. It has everything you need for a short stay. Great location, clean and tidy, clear instructions.

Very comfortable for the number of guests. Location was perfect. Having a garage was also helpful for housing our rental car We would all definitely return.

Good to be back down the Ferry after 10 years , "the wanderer" is a beautiful place , very welcoming, homely and all you need for a stay away from home! Lew's hospitality was next to none ,delivering fresh flounders on 2 occasions to feed our army . Much appreciated, will definitely be back oneday 🙏
