Holiday rentals with lake access in uMngeni Local Municipality

Our stay at the Airbnb in Curry's Post was exceptional. The property was sparkling clean, and the staff were both helpful and friendly. Though labeled 'rustic,' the finishing and amenities were five-star. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

The property is beautiful and is located in a beautiful surrounding. The house is clean and homely. Ideal for family. Check-in was easy and Gugu was flexible with the late checkout request. We really enjoyed our stay

This really is a beautiful spot if you looking for some time out. Unfortunately we were in and out for a school sports tournament with not the greatest weather so would have loved to be able to have had more time to stay. You do have to travel on a portion of untarred road but we all managed to reach our destination in a variety of car types. My favourite feature of that house is the well appointed kitchen - often in staying in self catering houses you are supplied with the bare minimum - which is definitely not the case here. Teas and coffees and basic condiments were such a nice touch - right down to a garlic press and an air fryer. Would definitely recommend!

Spacious and homely. Allowed for my big family to get cosy and comfortable the whole weekend. Very responsive and gracious host. The place is heavenly you are nestled in the trees and captivated by the lake. It was too cold to swim so look forward to visiting when weather is warmer

The Watering Hole is a beautiful and idyllic property in a magnificent location. The hosts are friendly, accommodating and left personal messages and treats for us to enjoy. We enjoyed our stay immensely and will book there again if needed.

A peace of paradise, especially if you’re looking to get away from the hubbub and enjoy the serene countryside. Kirsten was a super host. She was flexible and accommodated our ever-changing travel plans without complaining. The accommodation itself has all the amenities one needs to enjoy a stay at a home away from home. True, the final stretch of road leading up to the accommodation needed to be traversed slowly (and a vehicle with higher clearance is preferred) but that’s understandable given the nature of the beautiful terrain - the whole point of choosing a place like Kirsten’s!

Deborah's cottage is special. We spent 7 days there and enjoyed every minute. Deborah was a gracious and patient hostess and ensured that we were well looked after. The cottage is so cozy. The fact that it is off the grid is a huge plus. There is a large fireplace in the lounge and the beds are really comfortable. There are beautiful walks through the bluegum and pine forests that are not strenuous at all. You can also cycle through the forests. We used the canoe provided and loved every minute. If you want a peaceful holiday in a tranquil setting that is far away from the chaos of the city, then this is the place to visit. We would love to return.

Tastefully and well equipped cottage in a beautiful garden and peaceful surroundings. Di’s communication was excellent. Slindile greeted and welcomed us warmly, tended to requests promptly, and delivered delicious fresh muffins. We enjoyed the walk through the wetland and being able to sit outside listening to the bird calls and enjoying the quiet. The cottage is well located for exploring the midlands. Can highly recommend.

It was an absolute magical experience at the cottage with breathtaking views. It was truly relaxing and exactly the break away we needed during the festive season. We really appreciate all the thoughtful touches to the property that were provided Fortunate and Pam were extremely helpful as well Will definitely visit again soon !

The place is absolutely stunning. Tim who manages the property was extremely helpful and always went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable, he is truly an asset to the farm. If I could recommend slight touches - The hot tub takes forever to heat up, it would be great to get a solar blanket as well to retain the heat - A lounger patio would be a great addition to soak up the sun in the afternoons. Overall a stunning place which is nice and secluded, the roads traveling to and from Nottingham road is not the best so I would suggest getting what you need to limit driving up and down

We loved our stay at Hum Lilly - even allowed to bring our little pooch which was an added bonus. Very private setting. Road is a bit of a challenge when it rains but doable (we have sedans and it was fine, just very muddy). The place has a lovely feel to it. It's basic in terms of supplies as it's self catering so make sure you bring things, as it's not like you can just pop to the shops if you run out (like we did!). We wouldn't hesitate to book there again. Loved the fire place in the lounge, the beds were SUPER comfy and all in all, I would recommend it. Certainly worth staying at :)

We had an unforgettable stay at Lake Zonk in the breathtaking Drakensberg mountains. Nestled right on the lake’s edge, the views were absolutely stunning – especially during sunrise and sunset, with the crisp air and golden light ushering in the winter season. The accommodation was spot-on for a mountain retreat – cozy, warm, and thoughtfully equipped with plenty of blankets and heaters to keep us snug. The fireplace, both inside and outside, added that extra touch of magic and made evenings feel truly special. One small frustration was the number of flies around – likely due to the season – so next time we’ll come prepared with something to keep them at bay. Still, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. Highly recommend this spot for anyone wanting to unwind in nature with unbeatable views and homely comfort. We’ll definitely be back!

What an incredibly beautiful relaxing place to stay. Marc and Lee are definitely the best hosts you will ever come across. I can’t wait to get back there.

We had a wonderful and memorable stay at Ann's place. Beautiful farm scenery around us. Our dogs had a great time too playing with the farm dogs. Did a stroll around the farm and enjoyed our braai at night. With Ann's farm as base, we were able to travel to the areas far north to Cathedral Peak area, Giants Castle and down Karkloof Falls. Hoping to stay in the farm again in the future. Thanks to our great host Ann and dogs, we had a great time.
