Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Tucker County

This was my second stay at Mike's place and everything was just as good as my first stay. The location is great and close to many local sites and activities. The view of the mountain is gorgeous and so peaceful and relaxing. The house is very comfortable and nice inside with many thoughtful touches throughout. You won't be disappointed if you stay here!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Bear’s Lair! My dad traveled with us and he is in his 80s and doesn’t get around very well so the one-floor set up was very convenient for him to navigate. We were nice and close to the downtown Thomas area. The space was very clean and very modern. We felt right at home! The beds were very comfortable and the sheets and towels were crisp and clean. Would definitely recommend staying here. We have already put it on our list for our next visit!

The home has lots of character and charming details. We enjoyed our time and loved cooking together. The living space is open, inviting, and relaxing. It was a great family atmosphere. The tree swing and fire pit were fun. The shower being on the first floor separate from the bedrooms upstairs was unexpected but didn't cause any problems for our group. Also, whoever sleeps in the tree house room should know they'll need to descend a ladder to use the bathroom. This house is super great and the mountains surrounding are breathtaking. We would definately stay again.

This house was a great basecamp for our two families. We had plenty of room for the 3 kids and all of our (5 adults) biking gear. A fantastic mud room made it easy to keep the house clean and organized. The kitchen was roomy enough for us too.

The family owned “lodge” was perfect for our stay; spacious, clean, quiet, and well laid out for times together or when private time is desired. Well stocked kitchen with everything needed to eat in. Several restaurants nearby: the town of Thomas had unique stores & galleries. Davis, WV had a nice, established brewery. Skiing, sledding, tubing, disc golf activities nearby. Brandie (owner) was very helpful & responsive when questions arose. Great place for families, etc. Highly recommend when visiting the area.

This is a real gem. What a wonderful trip for us with Black Diamond house. Brian and co hosts were very responsible and thoughtful fantastic hosts. House is super clean, modern, newly renovated, great view and beautiful surroundings, quiet peaceful safe full of decorations and amenities including warm jacuzzi with peaceful heavenly neighbors. Dream came true in New Virginia. Lots of things to do in the nature also. I would definitely come back to Brian’s place.

What a great spot to stay while you explore Davis and Thomas! The house is so cozy and creative. Each space having such select pieces and all you need to spend time with family/friends/travel companion(s). Walkable to the town of Davis and all its attractions! One of the cleanest airbnb homes I’ve ever stayed it - we had a wonderful, comfortable, enjoyable time and hope to return and see more of the area! Angela was a wonderful host!

This place was perfect! Location was great, extremely easy to find and close to everything that we had planned for this trip. Beds were comfy and the fans were a added bonus (cant sleep without them). Unfortunately, with our limited time, we were not able to take advantage of the beautiful back porch. Would definitely stay here again!!

Perfect location- comfortable vibe. Lovely decor. Alison was superb. The bed was comfortable. We loved walking to all the things. Our car didn’t move! However, with the convenience of being in town and able to walk anywhere comes noise. Typically I wouldn’t turn a TV on, so not having one wouldn’t be an issue, however I would have loved to have one to drown out the neighbors conversations. Literally, someone sneezed in another unit (or upstairs) and I said, bless you. They responded saying, “thanks.” 2 things would have made our stay perfect, a white noise machine, tv or Bluetooth speaker to drown out the noise and provide some semblance of privacy and a full-length mirror in the bedroom. Overall, I would recommend this place and will likely stay again. The convenience of being right in town coupled with the river and fire pits right outside was awesome. Next time, I will pack earplugs and a speaker!

Shari’s place is a wonderful place to stay. We have stayed at numerous Airbnbs and this by far is one of the best! Shari’s place is very clean and you can tell upon arrival that a lot of thought has went into making it a great place to stay. Very cozy feeling. Located a half hour from Blackwater Falls and Deep Creek Lake area. About a hour from Seneca Rocks. We would highly recommend staying here!

what a lovely place to stay. Cheaper than the local hotel and much nicer. Carolyn is a great host! The apartment is equipped very nicely, very comfortable furnishings. We will stay here again for sure.

An absolutely beautiful location! I was able to watch the leaves change in fall while soaking in the deck hot tub. The studio apartment was perfect as my home away from home while on a travel nursing assignment. I had everything I needed. I was able to bring my roku and watch my TV shows while relaxing in the recliner chair. The shower is very roomy. I love that a washer and dryer was included. The only thing I wish it had was a toaster oven…but that is a luxury not a need. The stove, toaster, and microwave were perfect for my month stay. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to “get away” or working in nearby by Oakland, MD. The host is wonderful and very responsive.

The Lucky Duck is a very calm and relaxing place to stay. We enjoyed the views and the local population of ducks and geese who welcomed us as we came and went. The place was spotless & spacious and had all the little things we needed for a great visit. Would highly recommend booking.

Dave’s place did not disappoint. The unit was well stocked and left nothing to be desired. Dave was a wonderful host, and communication was excellent. Would love to return in winter hit the slopes.

This place is perfect to stay, walkable to Davis and a quick drive to Thomas! Also, great fire pits right by the black water river! Also, a small brewery opened next door while we there with a great staff!

We loved our stay at the cabin. The location was perfect for us. Everything was just as described. It’s a WELL stocked kitchen, clean bathrooms, comfortable beds and furniture, the solo stove and the hot tub were all contributing factors to our great stay. But the view and the property!! We couldn’t get enough of the beauty. The hike from the property was a favorite as well. The town of Davis was a perfect stop for supplies so that once we got to Patrick’s we were home for the night. Patrick was great to work with as well! Thank you for sharing your home.

The cabin is beautifully decorated and perfect for a cozy, relaxing getaway. We enjoyed the game room and the hot tub, and all the check-in and check-out instructions were easy to follow. The bed was very comfortable, and I appreciated the fan for white noise. We’d love to return one day!

Staying at Megan and Abby’s cabin was such an amazing experience. The place was impeccably clean and looked exactly as the pictures described it. Megan responded quickly and kindly when I asked about a door that needed to be unlocked. The Bear Lair Cabin stay will live my best memories.

The Verde Mountain Cabin is a cozy, comfortable home that is close to Thomas, Davis, and all of the great outdoor activities in the Canaan Valley. It was a great place to stay to explore the trails and towns in the area, and the resort area that surrounds the cabin is quiet and peaceful with nice views. Brooke and the Platinum Pineapple Group are also very responsive and helpful.

Great cabin in a great area! Cannot recommend enough for quick and easy access to nature with affordability for what you get. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time at Kimberly’s place. We cooked all of meals and the kitchen had everything we needed…probably the best stocked kitchen we seen. Hot tub was awesome and we stayed in the “off” season so the neighborhood was super quiet, which we loved! Would definitely recommend!

Otter's Den is quiet, scenic, and relaxing. A large, comfortable house surrounded by forest with no neighbors in sight. Nicely equipped kitchen plus a large back deck for grilling and basking in the pristine hot tub. My wife and I especially enjoyed coffee in the rocking chairs on the covered front porch one quiet, rainy morning, listening to birdcalls and the nearby babbling stream. There is plenty to do in the area year-round -- lovely hikes in Dolly Sods wilderness and in 2 nearby state parks, one with a spectacular heated outdoor pool and a nice golf course. And winter sports abound with 2 downhill ski resorts and several cross-country trails within minutes. We haven't found a better way to get away -- we will definitely be back.
