It is a 10 min hike to the Escarpment Lookout, and roughly a 25 min hike to your canoe on a small lake. The chalet is located at Gerber's Nursery outside the village of Golden Lake, and provides a cozy get away for a couple, small family or four friends travelling together. We had the perfect stay while at “Rowe’s Cabin” starting the new year in a quiet and peaceful setting. The hosts shared the story of the land and the cabin, including its history, adding to the experience and atmosphere for us that we really valued. They recommended going to Barron Canyon and we made sure to make a stop on our way out and it was the perfect ending to or trip, we were the only ones on the trail making it so much more whimsical. We snowshoed around the cabin and quietly sat in the window, playing uno, in the evening watching deer and wildlife coming up to the cabin for an hour or two. It had snowed the day we got there so it felt extra disconnected and relaxing. The hosts made sure we felt comfortable and safe in the cabin, we often are out in the woods during all times of the year and the hosts make this cabin experience in the woods fun and within reach to anyone new to the being in the woods or have more experience in the woods.

My family and I had an amazing stay! To begin with the property is so big there’s so much to do! The wildlife is incredible, during our stay we saw multiple herons, baby turtles, frogs, as well as heard some howling at night! The kids were out all day by the beach playing, the water is really shallow so it was super easy to play with them! The home was immaculate! Each room was so clean and well thought out! Definitely will be booking again!
