You can enjoy autumn scenery unique to each region, including Hakuba Happo Pond, Kamikochi, and the Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route. During the day, head to the mountains and plateaus to see the autumn foliage. When I get back, I'll relax in the sauna and the cold water bath. It is a 2-minute walk to Miyagawa Morning Market and a 5-minute walk to Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, the site of the autumn Takayama Festival.
