A private cottage on the beach in Naoshima, a sacred place for art.There are two buildings, one on the sea side and one on the mountain side, and Kai is the sea side building.You can use the free parking space on the premises, which is rare in Naoshima. The building is a separate two-story building, with 6 beds in the ground floor bedroom and up to 2 futons in the Japanese-style room on the second floor, so you can stay between 6 and 8 people. There is a family-type kitchen and washing machine, so it can be used for family and friend trips, as well as for student training camps and seminar trips. It is a 3-minute walk from OHANA to Kikaburi, and a 2-minute walk from the nearest bus stop, making it an ideal base for sightseeing while staying in Naoshima. Enjoy a relaxing time on Naoshima in a room that uses plenty of wood from a local carpenter. We have 2 electric bicycles and 5 bicycles available. They are available for free to guests. You can also take your bike on the ferry to Naoshima and Teshima. Insects may enter the house depending on the season, as the garden is close to the old house. We are taking measures, but please refrain from booking if you are not good with insects. When you come by car, we ask you to check in by yourself. When you come by train or bus, we can pick you up and drop you off at Uno Station. There is another traditional house nearby. It is close to the Shinkansen, so there is noise and vibration every time it passes.It may not be suitable for those who are sensitive to sound. All 3 bedrooms are tatami mat with Futon bedding. 1 BR on the 1st fl. with a garden view that historically, had been used as a waiting place for tea ceremony guests. There is a kitchen/dining area and a full-Bath with western amenities and use of a washing machine on the 1st fl. The 2nd Floor provides 2 adjoining BR separated by shoji screen doors and also includes a half-bath.
