We had a wonderful few day's stay in John's beautiful cottage. John is very engaging and even phoned while we were on our way to Holy Island to make sure we had received the key code and to see if we had any questions. On arrival everything was in order and Johns instructions on how to find his cottage were perfect. The cottage is incredibly well situated in the village with stunning views of the castle from the kitchen, garden and both bedrooms. We could have just spent our whole time on Hoy Island sat on the patio in the sunshine taking in the incredible view! The cottage is very up to date and the kitchen is well-equipped if you are more inclined to self cater. Everything in the village is only a few minutes walk away. There is a pub virtually next door and another pub two minutes away, also several cafes. There is also a gin shop right next door! There is room to park one car right outside and an EV charging point if you need one. All in all this is a fantastic property.

We had a lovely stay in Tynemouth, right next to the beach, great space for the kids to play in the back garden. The house had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Will stay again for sure.

The cottage is lovely with beautiful surroundings. The living room in particular is stunning. We are a family of 5 and had plenty of space. Our eldest (11) loved the loft bedroom. Instructions from Liz were excellent and using what3words we found the cottage with no issues. The area is gorgeous and we saw lots of wildlife on the way which was great. The cottage is about an hour away from the centre of Edinburgh, so it’s ideal if you’re wanting to visit Edinburgh but stay away from the noise of a city. Thank you so much for having us, we had a great time 😀

Words cannot describe how amazing Simone is and her gorgeous retreat. I took my Dad away for a little trip away as he is rather poorly and the original place I had booked was appalling! So bad I refused to stay. Thinking I'd have to take my Dad back home as finding somewhere suitable for his needs is slim picking, never mind on an August Friday night at 6pm, last weekend of the summer holidays. Nevertheless, after refusing to give up I found this gem, both in Simone and her retreat. Just what we needed . Simone went above and beyond from the second I placed the booking, she rang me straight away, said she would met us there, she had the retreat warming through for us, lights on and made us feel absolutely at home. So much so I had to give her a hug. The whole experience from start to finish was 10 star. The place is beautiful, the views are outstanding, area is perfect. My Dad is dying to go back already. And I can't wait to take him. See you soon x

This was a beautiful place to stay, very peaceful, clean and tidy. The view from the hot tub was lovely. We felt very lucky to find this place for a single night stay as it seems you usually have to book multiple nights. We often grab the chance at a night away whenever we can as parents of a young family so we will be keeping our eyes peeled to see if any further 1 night availability appears in future as we would definitely return. Thank you!

A really cosy and comfortable place in a fab location and very good value for money.

Unfortunately we didn’t get to meet Michael as he was away but we did meet the lovely Carol who was there on our arrival. We had a brilliant 2nt stay in the Partridge Hut. It was exactly the same as the photos. A comfortable bed and large powerful shower. It had everything you needed for such a compact space. We were fortunate with the weather and were able to use the outdoor seating and even got the fire pit going on the 1 nt. It was lovely to wake up to the birdsong and the little bunnies hopping around. We ate at the Milecastle Inn which was recommended by Carol and was spot on and then had fish and chips at the Ocean takeaway in Haltwhistle the last nt. Hadrians Wall is just on your doorstep and the Lanercost Priory which is in walking distance from the hut. A great tearoom and gift shop there too. If you’re after a quiet and relaxing time, Michael’s place is perfect and we will definitely return.

Perfect home and location for my 4 year old son, partner and I. The home has everything you need and is very close to walkable amenities including coop, cafes, beach and boat trips. 100% recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at Melanie’s. The house is really comfy, cosy, well-appointed and welcoming. We found it deceptively spacious and we loved the big rooms. The beds are very comfy and the house is warm on cold days and airy when it is hot outside. It’s extremely handy for day trips to Beamish and it’s close enough to make an easy journey into Newcastle. We found the parking was a tight squeeze but Melanie’s advice on how to manage this was spot-on - she is a very helpful host. Event though the house is on a narrow terraced street, the neighbours left us space to get the car in and out, and we found the house private, quiet and peaceful. We had everything we needed in the house and there are lots of extras like Netflix and Freeview on the TV as well as lots of books and DVDs. The chip shop down the road served us huge portions and was tasty - we also recommend the Stables restaurant at Beamish Hall. We hope to stay at Melanie’s again and will be recommending it to others.
