Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Þingeyjarsveit

Beautiful log cabin home. We spent two days here as we explored the Myvatn/Husavik area. The home had a well stocked kitchen, and all the comforts of home. Great check-in and communication with Dagny. Added bonus, we were so lucky to see the Aurora the three nights we were there!

We stayed four nights and did day trips from the house. It was a great starting point for the northern Golden Circle. The house is lovely and as pictured. The kitchen is nicely equipped for meals at home. Loved the views and the hotpot. We would love to return!

This home so great! Had everything g we needed for a big family. Beautiful location, so close to town and was perfect for us in every way.

Beautiful location. Near a ski resort and close to the heart of downtown. Home was very cozy for our family of five and everyone had their own beds. Very peaceful area. A short 5 minute drive to downtown and grocery. Host was very responsive and friendly. Would stay here again.

Beautiful location - plus we were lucky enough to see northern lights right there! Place was as described, very comfortable, easy drive to downtown Akureyri. We had a wonderful time - thank you!

Soffía and the friends host us super well! They are quick reaction when there is electricity problem happen to the whole town, the friends around comes over and fixed all the problems efficiently. They are really warm, and we feel like home. The home looks better than the pictures, it looks like art! We like the jukebox, category of record, and the ukulele. Location: the home is easy to find with numbers , a sigle house located in the small town, there is market, just few mins walk, you can buy the daily essentials, food, drinks, etc, but the host already have everything :) it's close to the scenic points, Mývatn. Surrounding: it's very cozy place, safe and quiet at night; there is hot spring around here for 5-6 min drive. Accommodations: the host seems living here, so it's well equipped with washing machine, dryer, well set up kitchen with ingredients and everything(more than what we have at home). Love the TV paper, i thought it was real painting at the beginning! Very warm!

This was the perfect stop on our travels through Iceland. My kids loved the sheep, the stream and the grass to run in. The house was clean and included all amenities. Our group of 9 was comfortable, and we were pleasantly surprised to see that it was 1 1/2 bathrooms. There’s a half bath upstairs with the kitchen and two bedrooms. The washer and dryer were very helpful considering that this stop was a week into our trip. I would definitely stay here again.

Sehr nette Gastgeberin, sehr ruhig gelegen, sehr grosszügige und geräumige Unterkunft, wunderbarer Blick auf den Fjord und Akureyri, sehr toll ausgestattet mit allem was es braucht (auch Geschirrspüler, Waschmaschine, viele Badetücher), toll ausgestattete Küche, bequeme Betten. Unschlagbares Preis-Leistungsverhältnis! Herzlichen Dank, sehr empfehlenswert.

Petite maison accueillante avec une vue à couper le souffle 🤩 Les Chats et le chien sont adorables 😻 🐕 Nos hôtes ont été très gentils et agréables. Le Hot tub est évidemment un plus!

Helgi’s place was in a great location to get to places like Husavik, Myvatn, and only 10 minutes from Forest Lagoon (an absolute highlight and must do!). He was friendly, polite and responsive, and the studio was lovely, well kept and in a wonderful spot. Having a morning coffee (there is a great coffee maker in the studio!) while gazing at the mountain scenery was wonderful. We would highly recommend Helgi’s place, and would love to come back some day :)

We loved our time here. The apartment is scrupulously clean and very charming. The owners are kind and responsive. We arrived in the spring to many new born lambs. We also fell in love with their dog. Highly recommend!

Eine wunderschöne Wohnung mit viel Liebe und Charm eingerichtet. Die Küche ist super ausgestattet und wir haben uns direkt wohl gefühlt. Für uns mit unserem 7 Monate alten Tochter war es ein perfektes Zuhause.

The place was amazing, but when we arrived, the instructions showed a black lock box . The picture didn’t even match the two that were there , after trying several times with the code and texting Egill with no response we tried the white one and found the keys . And the whole week we were there no response or apology. Made me feel like he was just in it for the money and didn’t care . But again the place was nice . I would stay there again . Hope he reads this and changes his ways .. this probably won’t get posted because it makes him look bad .. but that’s the honest truth .

Die Unterkunft ist einfach wunderschön. Die Aussicht, die Umgebung, die Einrichtung. Unser Aufenthalt hier hätte besser nicht sein können.

This Airbnb in Akureyri was a great choice, as it was close to the centre and the interior was really nice (furnished with wooden mid-century furniture, which was a big plus for me). Helga, our host was very friendly and helpful, she recommended great restaurants, we tried one of them, and had a top notch experience.

Couldn’t recommend a stay at Pétur’s place more! Apartment was spacious and very clean. Outdoor space was lovely as well.

the place was very clean and had everything one needed to begin their adventure in Iceland! the washing machine / dryer was a godsend. the private parking at the front of the house was also really convenient. will highly recommend for anyone to stay! thank you for hosting us :)

If I could give more stars for location, I would. Definitely go the the public pool a short walk away. The people are so friendly and there are 2 awesome water slides (one is referred to by local kids as the toilet bowl, you'll see why in a fun way). This is a bottom floor apartment which seems very new. The apartment was quiet and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook. The bed was comfy. The Northern lights were amazing. Probably the best place we stayed in Iceland and a good value.

L'alloggio era nuovo di restauro, perfettamente arredato per accogliere gli ospiti. C'è un gattino che accoglie i visitatori e che può essere coccolato. Casa di Anna è confortevole e comoda come campo base per esplorare i dintorni. La cucina mette a disposizione tutto quello che occorre per farsi da mangiare. Gli spazi sono più indicati per una famiglia con figli. Noi eravamo 4 adulti e siamo comunque riusciti a dividerci gli spazi senza troppi problemi.

This was by far the best place we stayed during our visit to Iceland. The unit was nicely equipped from the kitchen to the linens. Location was walkable to dinner and local shopping. We were even able to walk to the docks for our whale watching excursion. Our only driving was to the Forest Lagoon hot springs (highly recommend them, we went twice)
