Could have never asked for a better host. Responsive, friendly, helpful, every positive trait you would love in a host, Michel exhibits. Although the booking was the day of the stay, Michel delivered with a clean room and all the essentials you may need. With the accomodation being beside the ocean, you'll be waking up next to sea breeze and a beautiful scenery. Truly a "hidden gem" to have discovered with a last second booking 🙏, would reserve this place if I was to come back to Bintan.

This is a real gem!! Pulau Bintan has a lot of potential and is a coming tourist destination that is still pretty unknown, I think. In Roka Resort you get the treatment and feeling of a 5star luxury guest for a very reasonable price. Everybody is lovely. An extra special is the shelter that Sophie runs as well and therefore all the lovely cats and dogs that are living at the resort as well. It is a wonderful experience and all animals are very friendly and love to cuddle. The room itself is just amazing (spacious, cozy, clean) and in a very cool interiour design. Roka Resort can match the best resorts on Bali easily in quality and service.

I spent 3D2N here with a friend visiting from HK, and we had a most wonderful time. The location of the kelong is great - it sits at the edge of a cluster of kelongs yet maintains sufficient distance for privacy. The 360-degree sea view means you can catch both the sunrise and sunset on good days. We were lucky to enjoy one night of crisp, starry sky too. You can jump right off the platform to snorkel, the water is clear and there's plenty of fish. We got stung all over by jellyfish (that we couldn't see) though, so do bring protective gear to cover up. We booked a package with car transfers to/from Tanjung Pinang, all meals (cooked and prepped in the kelong's kitchen), and boat trips to 2 nearby islands included. Iwan and wife took good care of us - the calamari (fried with freshly-caught squid) and goreng pisang they made for snacking were especially yummy treats! Take note that some vertical climbing is required when getting up from the boat (or after snorkeling) during low tide.
