There are two large bathtubs and showers where you can relax in the bath. Families and groups can all bathe together. Also within walking distance is Hachioji-sanso, Makino Shiraya Onsen. It is a hot spring facility where you can enjoy one of the best 100% natural radon hot springs in Kansai. Please feel free to use it. You can enjoy a barbecue on the outdoor wooden deck. You don't need to bring any tools. Please bring only ingredients, condiments, and drinks. * In case of strong winds, we may ask you to refrain from using the barbecue area for safety reasons. ⚠︎ Because the mountains are close and the location is rich in nature, insects may appear indoors depending on the season, even if we take countermeasures. Haruya Guesthouse

Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

To ensure you enjoy the stay to the fullest, I set check-in and check-out time to both 12:00 Noon. So you can stay up for 24 hours with one night booking. YAMANOTE HOUSE is accessible from major Kansai stations with 37min from Kyoto Sta. or 65min from Osaka Sta. If you come by car from Kyoto it takes less than 1 hour. The area aournd the house is once small castle town. The house is located next to the Shrine, Hiyoshi-Jinja, where the Omizo Festival is held on May 3 and 4 every year.
