Chalet holiday rentals in Swellendam Local Municipality

The most beautiful setting ever! Mountains and green meadows, river and dam. Hot tub to soak in. Hiking trails, picnic spot by the river, canoes to paddle on - what more can anyone ask for!

We had the most wonderful time away! So beautiful and peaceful as well as feeling totally private. The only issue we had was not staying long enough! The area is totally secure for your dogs to wander around with you. Only thing we had thought was that the cattle etc were closer to the property from the photos but we didn't see them which was a good thing as we then didn't need worry too much for our dog. We would definitely want to come back! For longer next time.

A piece of paradise! Felt like we stepped into a scene of Yellowstone. It was pure bliss, walking around the farm, went waterfall hunting, swam in the river ... Our four-legged kid, a Great Dane, definitely lived his best farm life days! Not sure who was more curious, him, the cows or the horses! We will be back, and staying longer!

Going to Fonteinskloof is like spending time with family. William and Michael are always ready with a warm and friendly welcome. Lots to do and see on the farm........but it is also ideal to just put your feet up, enjoy the amazing views and sparkling pool and watch the game up closely. PS!! You can also watch the games (footy, rugby, cricket etc) in the games room which has a fusebal and pool table. There is also a tennis court close to the cottages. We stayed in cottage no. 2 which was perfect for my wife, daughter and I. Beds are super comfortable and the cottage itself is quite spacious as is the bathroom area. It has a nice patio with a braai area, which we utilized to the full. Remember to bring carrots too - to feed the goats!!. This was not our first time at Fonteinskloof and definitely won't be the last.

We had the best stay! Michael was super friendly and helpful! We loved the location, close enough to town but far enough to feel like a getaway. Best place for a family getaway on a summers day and fun things in the evening such as braaing and games room which is decked out! Definitely going back

We had a fantastic stay in Cottage 5 in mid-June, it was lovely and cosy for family of 3. The fire place kept us warm and there was so much to do on the farm to keep a little one busy, short hikes, jungle gym, safe place to ride up and down on a bicycle. We had a lovely game trip around the farm by Michael, the farm manager. Great friendly host by Michael, always keen to chat and share story's about the farm animals. We did a short trip into Swellendam dam, which was very memorable as well. We will definitely be back with more friends and family.

Loads of wildlife, awesome hikes and a very friendly host. Highly recommended.

Amazing location with a cottage providing rustic charm. Several hikes to beautiful vistas and a lovely outdoor setting to enjoy the sunset. Nearest supermarket is 17km away, so be sure to bring everything with you. Lovely pond for zip line and canoe activities
