Family-friendly holiday rentals in Summerfield

This is the second time that we have stayed with Donnie. The first time was in one of the cabooses. This time we stayed in The Depot. Both of these places were as described and pictured! I had good enough phone service that we did not miss having WiFi and there was cable for television. I had two children with me, an eight year old and a twelve year old, and they were both fine there! And we could look out the front door and see Buffalo Mountain. Because of Hurricane Helene damage, we did not get to go there but it was not for lack of trying! Sunday morning before we left, I got to see a deer in the pasture behind the depot! And some beautiful sunrises!

Beautiful location, place as described. Jacuzzi was great. Lots of hot water. Good water pressure, good shower. Bed was comfortable. Donnie was helpful and responsive.

We wanted to do something unique & different for our anniversary & this did NOT disappoint. From the “main” road you can see the 3 red cabooses up on the hill & our hearts smiled. They recently had storms & we could see where the flood waters deteriorated the sides of the driveway but it was still wide enough for us to pass another small vehicle if needed. Office Check in was a breeze and took less than five mins before we were standing in our getaway train(caboose) which is on a real track! We were the only ones staying this weekend but if others were present, there was plenty of room. Our furbabies throughly enjoyed having a large field in front of the cabooses to run in. The views from the swings were breathtaking especially during the sunsets. Once Inside, we enjoyed the comforts of home (except for a stove). The hotness of the water & the relaxing hot tub added to our experience. Some things were dated but that is to come with the territory. We hope to visit again in the fall.

Angel's place is amazing and well stocked and clean. The view of the cove is beautiful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the yurt! Linda will be the first to warn you that this is more like camping than a hotel, but there is something very special about this place.

This is a big House. It has one European style living room and traditional one. It is great. the House got everything. We have a team and everyone satisfied with this beautiful House. I think we will stay here if we have next year travel schedule. Farida is nice in communication.

This was the most relaxing, peaceful and carefree weekend we have ever had. My husband and our 2 kids and 2 dogs had the most fun, and we didn’t even feel the need to be on our phones or watch tv! The cabin felt like home; so much so, that we didn’t want to leave. My husband and I are already planning a trip back. Carey was an amazing hostess and we are so appreciative that she opened her home to us. The views were breathtaking. We literally sat outside all weekend. We only went inside to cook and sleep. Oh! And we got to enjoy a meteor shower Saturday night! Super awesome!! And, even cooler, there’s a dollar general market at the end of the main road! Coolest thing I’ve ever seen! So you don’t need to bring a bunch of food! We drove 5 hours to come stay here, and honestly, I would drive 10 just to come back. This cabin was every bit of home and we can’t wait to come back!

This was our second time staying at Barri's home and was just as enjoyable as the first. A lovely home with a big backyard for the pups to play in. The neighborhood is very peaceful and the neighbors are wonderful people. Would highly recommend a stay if you're visiting Winston.

Jennifer is an amazing host. The cottage location is wonderful and has everything you need for a great stay. It was super cozy for my pup and I for a week long stay, and the shared backyard space was lovely and private. I had minor issues with getting the tv to work, and Jennifer was super attentive and responsive in helping me get it to work again. 10/10 would recommend and stay again. Thanks!

Laura's place was very nice - just what we needed. Easy to find - looks just like the photo. We mostly were there just to sleep and make coffee in the mornings, and we had just what we needed! Checkout from this airbnb was the simplest I have ever experienced!

It was a pleasure to stay at a home that felt welcoming. Michelle let us know contact if anything was needed to assist. Beautiful home! If in the area again, I would definitely come back to her home. Also, several food options in the area. If you like to walk, run, etc it is a nice setting.

No actual electricity! Not a problem, but less apparent on listing! They accommodate appropriately (generator charging and a fan to be used and headlamp for walk to bathhouse). Overall, wonderful stay and great - just would like more realistic expectation on listing :)

This is our home away from home when we go to our annual family reunion. Julie’s home is spacious, welcoming and beautiful. The home is always well-stocked with the necessities and a few extra touches, like a bowl of welcome snacks, coffee for the Keurig, etc. We love Starling Place. We have stayed three years in a row and will be back next year.

Thaddeus was the best host I have had to date. Over delivered in every category!

We enjoyed the peaceful quiet location. The cottage was clean and comfortable. Our two pets were welcomed and had a great place to stretch their legs. We were very grateful for the opportunity to stay here.

House was great, pretty private, great pool. Lots of space for the family and there were snacks out for us which everyone really enjoyed. Had everything we needed for our stay. The only negative about the house was listed no pets. But there clearly were pets that lived there. Being highly allergic to animals with fur that probably would have not chosen that location. I needed to medicate the whole time. Other than that the home was what we needed.

We loved staying at Laurie’s home and had an incredible weekend. The space was perfect for our 20-person baby shower and the home was a cozy place to relax before and after. I was a little concerned if the A/C would be sufficient in an older home, but it worked great along with the updated appliances. You are about 12 minutes from town but feel like you’re miles away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This property is the perfect place to make special memories with loved ones and we hope to stay here again someday!

Our kids had a great time! Very private location with no ongoing traffic. They played in the front of the cabin all day with no worries from us about vehicles. Great spot to getaway and relax with outdoor activities (fishing, hiking, doing smores).

The cottage is a beautiful escape into an quieter and simpler way of life. Well equipped. Easy commute to the transportation museum, downtown shops and restaurants and wineries. Our second stay, and the whole family had another truly remarkable experience. Will be back 💕

Peaceful and relaxing stay. We had everything we needed upon arrival. The Grandkids were never bored between hiking to explore the river to running under the trees playing tag to roasting marshmallows in the firepit. We even had a movie night on the projection screen.
