Apartment holiday rentals in South Portland

Our lodging fell through at the last minute and Portland hotels were outrageously expensive. We were delighted to find the Beverly right near our event—as well as near coffee shops and restaurants. The unit was comfortable and had all the right amenities—including a kettle for tea (you’d be surprised how many places don’t have one). We loved the charm of the old building, the off-street parking, and the comfy furniture. And our host was helpful, proactive, and friendly! We’d definitely stay again for the event next year!

It was everything Betty described. Comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen. Quiet neighborhood and everything you need close by. If I come again to Portland I would stay at Betty’s place. Thank you!! For having us.

This was my second stay at Scott‘s amazing penthouse. So beautiful and comfortable and clean and you can’t beat the views across the harbor. I really needed a break and loved the comfortable beds! Just as described. Close to restaurants, shops and waterfront. The proximity to everything and the parking so close by made for a relaxing weekend. Scott was always immediately responsive when I had a question. I hope to be back for a third time in the future.

Great little place. We parked our car and trailer right in front of the house, had takeout and a few groceries delivered (I think we used DoorDash or GrubHub), and got rested up for the next leg of our trip. Hyeri was super kind and responsive.

Great stay at Susan’s place! Everything you could need for a stay in Portland with a great host. Spotless and private apartment with great local recommendations, and Susan left us donuts on the day we left! Would absolutely stay again.

This is a lovely space in a good location. My only complaint is that the bed was really uncomfortable, so much so that I chose to sleep on the couch. Also, the in-window ac unit makes the street traffic very loud, basically like the window is wide open all night which in combination with the busy street was pretty noisy. Host was great, and the space was nice, I just wish the sleeping situation had been better.

We loved our weekend getaway at Ramune’s place in Saco! The apartment is so cute, comfortable, private, and feels very spacious with the dividing wall between the living and sleeping areas. It was really nice having a fridge, dishes, and small kitchen appliances for convenience. The location is very convenient - a nice walk or short drive to the Main Street in Saco and then across the river to Biddeford. You’re also just a short drive from nearby beaches and towns like Kennebunkport and Portland. Ramune was very kind and communicative! Would definitely recommend her place for anyone looking for a homey and quiet getaway in Maine.

Who knew that inside an assuming building is a massive, quirky and cute space? It’s also in the perfect location close to restaurants. The apartment has everything you need and the space to host friends or family. The host was responsive. As someone who has lived in Portland and in many historic homes, it’s very normal for even the best renovated places to have a couple of more rustic details (wear & tear). The previous review disgracing this place is by someone who clearly this was not a match (they should have stayed in a modern hotel). It’s obvious that the host has been incrementally restoring this place and putting their own sweat in to make it a great airbnb. I would definitely stay here again. No question.

Oh gosh where should I start? This must have been one of the most beautiful Airbnbs I have ever stayed in. It felt so comfortable right from the start, there were fresh flowers on the table and the bed is extremely comfortable (and a King size bed which is a huge plus). The kitchen is well equipped, the bathroom is spacious, the living area is super cozy and there are two seating options for eating your meals. Our favorite one was the round table right by the beautiful big window. There is a huge tree outside and the surroundings are so green and lush it was amazing! Parking is right outside, the place is very easy to find and it‘s super quiet at night. Oh and the black out curtains, perfect! Stacey has amenities laid out if you ever forget or run out of anything. All in all a perfect place, 5 stars! Thank you for putting so much love into this place, Stacey, it really shows!

A perfect place for someone alone or a couple! Plenty of space for either. Updated amenities, stylish, super clean and homey. I felt safe and comfortable! Location is great, close to restaurants/grocery/the bridge to Portland. I will definitely stay at again when visiting!!

Louis’s apartment is a gem—exactly as described, nestled in a historical neighborhood. The area is very quiet and peaceful with restaurants and shops nearby. It’s a great location with sites/attractions within 15 to 20 minutes of the property. The apartment itself is open and airy, with a warm mix of history and contemporary feel to it. We felt right at home, especially with such such a great host as Louis. He was very quick to respond and offer local suggestions. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. If we’re ever in the Portland area again, we will definitely stay at Louis‘s historical apartment.

We had a great stay at Matthew’s place! It was the perfect location and less than a ten minute drive to everything we wanted to do. The space was clean and inviting and perfect for a couple. They offered lots of local recommendations and things to do and had great amenities. Will definitely book this spot again when visiting Portland!

The most charming and tasteful and comfortable Airbnb ever. Truly. They have thought of everything you could ever need, and the overall design and aesthetic are amazing. I would move in and stay for a long time were I needing to be in Portland. You also have a beautiful view from your window of their lovely garden. Wish every Airbnb would model their places on this one!

This was a great place to stay. They were kind enough to leave a few kids books and a few balls for us too since they knew we were traveling with a little one.

Cynthia’s place is a quaint, private, beachside retreat that’s perfect to enjoy all that Portland has to offer. With a small beach just steps away, and Portland only a 10 min drive, this place is perfect if you’re looking for a relaxing Maine adventure. The bed was super comfy and the water pressure was awesome!

We loved this place! It was incredibly clean, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Perfect for a couple’s getaway. Conveniently located to Ogunquit, Kennebunk and Wells by car. The bed was very comfy. Everything you need for a great stay. We definitely will go back!

Stayed here for 5 days. Cozy, welcoming, and clean. Ashanti and James were excellent hosts and very responsive to questions. If we return to the area we’ll definitely see if they have openings!

Beautiful, quaint spot! We had a very quick stopover but it was perfect! We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub after a long day on the road. Would definitely recommend Ren’s place!

141 Studio was perfect for a couple for a few days near downtown Portland. The studio is great. Dan has renovated it in great style. The kitchen was great for our purposes. The layout of the studio was great for our purposes. Having the washer and dryer was extremely helpful and made our 10 day total trip work well. I cannot say enough good things about the studio and Dan's preparation of it. The scale only goes to five, but it is a ten. Thank you Dan.

Melissa’s unit is clean, nicely laid out, and close to many restaurants and activities. She has two beautiful cats, and they’re allowed in the room. So if you’re sensitive to cat hair be aware. Melissa was friendly and helpful.

Great Airbnb! Clean, spacious, and comfortable. Excellent kitchen with every amenity you could want. Nicely decorated. Nice residential neighborhood. We were able to walk to a few restaurants and were close to the beautiful Back Cove trail.

Excellent stay in Portland! The space is true to the photos and description. Everything was easy, pleasant, and having the hot tub and pool were such a bonus! Lovely stay, lovely city!
