A stay at Hearthstanes is absolute magic. Beautiful surroundings, peace and quiet, lush greenery, animals and a waterfall? Yes! From start to finish our communication with Ralph and Maura was easy. Ralph kept in touch with us throughout our stay, offering us a tour of his farm and then after our talks on our ride suggested activities we might enjoy based on our interests. The facilities were impeccable and super comfortable. We appreciate their patience as we navigated our first trip to Scotland. We would HIGHLY recommend Hearthstanes and the borders of Scotland to anyone wishing for a magical, quiet time in Scotland.

Absolutely fantastic stay in a beautiful home. Our family of five had plenty of space to spread out and we enjoyed the beautiful scenery, the wonderful village of Strathaven, and the great home. We very much appreciated the robes and slippers, which added to the coziness and comfort of the home. Naomi's suggestions for a local coffee shop and the best place to catch the train for Edinburgh were incredibly helpful. Our kids loved seeing the animals nearby (and especially enjoyed a visit from David the goat who Naomi brought down for us to pet). The house had everything we needed and was close to restaurants and supermarkets in the nearby village. It was a wonderful place to come back to after a day exploring all around Scotland. We highly recommend!

Staying at this farm becomes a real countryside experience, but with all the comforts. Geraldine was attentive and charming. The house is full of energy and one can feel there is human story behind. The building is beautiful and cosy. We felt at home. It is also simply perfect for the kids, who can safely explore around and have fun in the playground and the woods. West Lothian region is an amazing territory, full of unexpected gems. One of the greatest success of this family trip in Scotland was choosing this accommodation.

The Wee House was spotless when we arrived. For such a wee house it was very well equipped, as per the details only more so. Jan was very welcoming and attentive (Thank you) The house is peaceful and a great place for walking into Moffat and for exploring that part of the Southern Uplands. Highly recommended

We thoroughly enjoyed a short stay in this peaceful and picturesque cottage. it is well equipped, cosy and homely. It is peaceful with an abundance of wildlife and nature. We look forward to hopefully staying again and thoroughly recommend this place as a great base to explore the area from. Many thanks for a great stay.

Nick went above and beyond in supporting our trip. We were 10 adults 6 kids, for me the old worldly feel & nature showing through every window was unreal-Every room felt unique & special. Some family messages below to help summarize the home :) •Aged 11: The house was lovely one of the best experiences I’ve ever been to, it is a massive place and it was a really nice fun place in a little town •Aged 45: It was a wonderful stay and exactly as described. Beautiful peaceful surroundings, very close to village but feels like we were out in the country. House, Beautifully decorated, big but yet felt very cosy. Everything you could possibly need was provided for. Outside amenities included a hot tub which was the icing on the cake of a magnificent property •Aged 74: Such a wonderful ambience for a family gathering so peaceful •Aged 43: Nothing like having you're own personal hotel for a weekend :) Aged 12: I want to live there, it was gorgeous. We had an excellent stay, as a large group we found the space perfect, no one felt cramped or crowded and we were all very comfortable. Jennifer was very welcoming and all the information we needed was at hand. We would definitely return!!

We had a beautiful holiday here and Rosie and Jim were more than accomodating. The lodge was stunning, comfortable and the views/animals are truly stunning. Rosie is an amazing host who greets you with as much information as you wish when you arive then leaves you alone to your own devices unless you need to contact her. Which is perfect if you are looking to keep private as the lodge itself feels very private. Finally the surrounding areas are just a short drive away and I highly recommended Coulter Fell if you are up for a hike! Thank you Rosie for being an incredible host and for allowing us to stay at your beautiful lodge. It made this week truly magical for me and my family.

Lovely place to stay with a dog, lots of nice walks. Layout and facilities in the cottage were great, everything had been thought of. We will be recommending it to friends with dogs.

A great weekend break for me and my boys. All be it very last minute but Christina was just great and very quick with responses to messages. Would love to stay again sometime as my boys really enjoyed the cottage and surrounding countryside.
