It is located in the heart of the "Lake Michigan Snowbelt" if there is snow in the Lower peninsula it's usually here.

Within 1 mile in either direction there are wake lakes with boat launches for more adventurous activities. ORV trailhead is located 0.5 miles from the cottage. Traverse City, Boyne City, and Charlevioux are within 40 minutes away. Grayling and Gaylord 20 minutes away.
