The house is just like in the photographs, a wooden construction in which nothing has been left to chance and which is filled with small details and revealing details of the love and affection with which it was built and appreciated. Like any wooden house, it is already showing small points in need of maintenance, but nothing serious. The view from the house on the outer porch is stunning and it's precisely what we loved the most. To stay outside at night, observing the immensity of the starry sky and in silence, only with the sound of the sea, was equally pleasant. The perfect home to welcome us with our family. We leave with great desire to return for more days. Small appliances missing can improve the experience (kettle or coffee maker). On the contiguous terrain of the house a new dwelling is being built, which removes privacy from the porch. Workers are respectful and do not start making noise too early.

Hanspeter was a accommodating host and we are grateful for his energetic organizational support ahead of our trip. The bungalows are very nicely decorated and extremely clean. They are located on the outskirts of the village, it is only a few minutes walk to the beach and there is a little more peace in the evening than in the village center. If you are looking for relaxation and tranquility paired with warm climate, Maio and Hanspeter will not be disappointed!

The accommodation is very good, the amenities are good. The shops and the sea are close. But above all Maria is exceptional, close, responsive, friendly. Excellent pastry chef, she offered us good cake. It feels like home. Her husband speaks English and a little French. I recommend this beautiful experience.

Very nice accommodation, well located and very clean on the beautiful island of Maio. We arrived at 9am and were able to directly access the accommodation with transportation included from the port. The infinity pool is very well maintained and allows you to perfectly contemplate the sunset. Access to a private beach is also present and allows extreme tranquility.

A very nice house. Spacious, quiet. With airco, which is very nice in August. Wifi is good, I could do quite a bit of work. Kitchen is fully equipped but I didnt really cook in it. There is a good restaurant just around the corner, Benfica. Also, Quebra Kanela is within walking distance if it is not too hot outside. If you want to go to Plateau take a taxi. Aidil met me when I was on the main street nearby, and took me to her house. There she explained everything. Later she brought me papaya which I liked, it is one of my favorite fruits. Highly recommended!

Very pleasant stay. A very large terrace well sheltered from the wind. Comfortable accommodation with very good bedding. The neighborhood is typical of local life. The beach is close and so are the shops. There is a good bakery 300m away. Note that the pressure of the shower may vary from day to day. No hot water in the sink but we can do without it. Claudio had stocked the cabinets with pepper salt, sugar, coffee, oil, vinegar, garlic, butter in the fridge and water, which we really enjoyed. Very responsive to the phone.

A wonderful house, perfectly clean, nicely decorated and very well equipped, in a dreamy landscape (the terrace overlooks the ocean: during our 7-day stay we saw dolphins and a whale directly from the terrace). The very kind and efficient Ivania and Daniel were always there to help with everything we needed (meals, birthday cake, island tour, tips, stories about Maio and its locals). Patricia is always attentive and has helped us immensely, for example with transportation to and from Praia: huge thank you, Patricia, for the perfect hospitality! We will go back because the experience in Maio was fabulous!

The unit is just as shown in the pictures. Very nice and clean place. New Development. Building seems to be very safe. A key is needed for the main door to access inside in the building. Safety and security was big for me and this place did feel secure. The cleaning lady was amazing and helpful. Rooftop is shared so laundry is left to dry up there but I never had any issues with my neighbors. Only downsides were the water did run out and we did not have any running water for a few hours. The master bedroom door did lock on it’s own and would not open, there was an issue with the handle it came loose and was not operating properly. Besides those two hiccups I enjoyed my time there. I stayed for about 15 days and felt at home.

Absolutely adored this place! My parents and I enjoyed the quiet apartment, the security was always very friendly, the whole building felt super safe. The pool was extremely pleasant and easy access. The apartment itself is a lot bigger than we thought so that was a pleasant surprise. The hosts are very responsive and friendly. Would love to come back! 🥰

Kindly Bernard agreed to pick us up for free from our previous accommodation. He accommodated us in a larger, very nice house. Valerie and Bernard do everything to make our stay enjoyable: bike loan, informed advice, we really enjoyed the visit to her friend Raphaël Colicci who founded the Maioasis agroforestry farm:an extraordinary project to develop autonomous farms for social and solidarity purposes on the island of Maio.

This tastefully decorated ground floor apartment is great, it is airy and therefore easy to walk around for an elderly person. My mum has been able to exercise far more, just by taking walks around the flat. Moreover, the outside space means that she can get all the vitamin D that she needs, and enjoy sitting in the sun, relatively in the shade. For my husband and I, it is also wonderful to have a bigger kitchen, with a window next door, so as to properly evacuate food smells. The bedrooms are a great size, and the bed linen and towels are wonderfully soft. The beds are great quality and there is a lot of storage space. The hosts are incredibly responsive and go above and beyond the call of duty to make you feel welcome. We would return to this flat over and over again, and highly recommend it.

We felt very comfortable with Madilu. The location is perfect and easily accessible. The apartment is lovingly and charmingly furnished. We particularly liked the open kitchen on the terrace. There are numerous restaurants nearby, the grocery stores are easily accessible and the sea is on the doorstep. Cidade Velha is a special place as well as the accommodation of Madilu. We'll be sure to recommend

The stay was perfect. We enjoyed breakfast every morning. The accommodation is very large, with sea views and sunsets. The natural pools are a 30-minute walk away, and the pretty black sand beach is 10min away. The village is very cute and the locals very welcoming. Zeza responds to messages very quickly, and made our stay a lot easier by giving us information about the activities and she even booked us a day with a guide to hike in Serra Malagueta.
