Very colorful house. There is everything you need, and more. The host is trying very hard to help. The host has everything. There is even a wonderful hot tub and massage chair. It was interesting to sleep on tatami. Very nice view of Fuji. The house is very big. We were together, but it is also suitable for a small group.

Absolutely loved our stay at this traditional Japanese house. The space was clean, peaceful, and full of charm — tatami floors, shoji doors. Best of all, we were incredibly lucky to catch a clear view of Mount Fuji right from the backyard. Truly unforgettable. Would definitely stay again!

It was a very good place to have a BBQ while looking at Mt. Fuji on the veranda.✨ The interior was also clean, and I enjoyed the extraordinary hammocks, a spacious living room, and a sofa on the veranda. I would like to stay there again.🎵

Both the scallor and the family are very kind and friendly, and we are grateful for the situation and requests.We had delicious tea from the day of arrival and a lot of hospitality afterwards.The room was also a very nice room and it was not an entire floor but we had a comfortable stay.It's close to the station. It was helpful.

I live nearby.My son and his wife came with a baby. On the day of fireworks, accommodation costs for nearby ryokans are soaring, but this time, it was a weekday price even on holidays, and it felt like a great deal. Originally, when I booked by mistake for a month, they responded by rescheduling, and they were willing to handle forgotten items, and communication was very smooth.Thank you very much.

The sauna, water bath, and natural hot spring were all pleasant to use!The description of the facility was also easy to understand, and we had a comfortable stay.

It was a very comfortable trip. The interior is also beautiful, and you can sleep in the tent. Children are very busy.The small house and slide in the garden were also playing happily. The location was also great because it was a convenience store and a supermarket around! The BBQ set was also easy to use.

We had an amazing time during our 3 day weekend ! Place was exactly as per the pictures and we had the feeling of being in another country ! Beach really close by (walkable distance but with hill to get back to the house), convenient store and grocery shopping near by if you have a car. Would happily come back for holidays !

Michael has a wonderful house, it is very beautiful and you can find a lot of cute details in the house. Michael is also a great host, very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

great area to stay with great Mount Fuji views!

Yuji was really responsive and easy to communicate during our stay. It was an old house but I think the owner already tried his best to maintain and clean it (it’s just too old and had some stain and rust on places). There were trees and bushes surrounded the house - beautiful but yes a lot of bugs, and luckily not much got inside. There was not much to do nearby but would be good stopby to rest for a night. Considering the price it’s totally worth it. I’ll still give it 5 stars in overall.

Megumi and Toshi were wonderful hosts from check-in until check-out! From being greeted at the entrance, talking story in their mini cottage, giving us recommendations - places to eat, activities, and checking the surf report - and being very helpful when we needed anything. This place was clean, beautiful, private, and quiet. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I highly recommend it and I would go back there every time. Mahalo!

We stayed in this lovely home just outside of town, nestled in nature, for one month and felt right at home. Abhi is a most generous and considerate host, he helped us out from start to finish and made sure we had the best time in the Shimoda area. You do not need a car if staying here as the beach and a couple of restaurants are only about a 10 min walk from the house and convenience store about 20 minutes and a couple more good restaurants / bars about 35 minutes. But if you want to visit more sites in the area or go to the grocery store we'd recommend a car. The main reason we were visiting the area was to dive with the huge schools of Hammerhead sharks just off the coast here. Without a car the dive center can pick you up. This was a beautiful home for a very reasonable price. I loved the futons, the enclosed balcony, the bathtub and view…it is located up the mountains, but my 65 year old mother had no problem walking up or down. But I do recommend calling an Uber to check in with your luggage. Pulling it up the hills might be difficult. Cars usually stop running at 6pm so try to check in before then! We weren’t able to call a car for checkout, so we walked our luggage down the mountain with no problems! Small detail but They also provided much nicer toilet paper than some hotels even, so that was appreciated! The bus station is very convenient so we didn’t feel far away from other activities. But plan your dinners out because many of the restaurants hours aren’t accurate on Google. Best to call to reserve if you can! A very great stay for families or bigger groups!

We had a great time at this beautiful place with kids. The beach is literally couple minutes walk. I would recommend getting some grocery before you arrive as there are not many restaurants walking distance. Hitoshi-San provided local recommendation for restaurants and also was kind enough to clean local Red Sea Brum for BBQ.

Michi's accommodation is very nice, located in the heart of rice fields and tea fields. It was very nice to be away from the city and in a quiet place. The train station is a 20-minute walk, but Michi came to pick me up by car at the train station and even dropped me off when I left. He's very thoughtful. Thank you Michi for this stay.

Absolutely amazing place to get away. Very quiet, amazing views and the house had all the amenities you could need. Will definitely be back next year.

Great location and friendly host

8 years on, we returned to stay in this magnificent place. how far its come in 8 years, there is a whole amazingly curated experience now for the guests (no spoilers), interior has changed, garden, Bon fire, in floor Japanese fire pit for cooking. we went to the local grocer and bought everything to make yakitori. What an amazing time again.

Great host and a very nice and quiet area

Situated within the woods, very quiet and peaceful area. Not touristy and easily accessed by car (although walkable to the lake by foot, it s pretty steep hilly road so may not be suitable to walk for elderly). Very cosy and clean place. highly recommend!
