The island is a great respite from the bustling Boulevard of Aswan city. The place is a quick ferry ride from the mainland and the place is right off the public ferry dock. Gasser was extremely responsive and proactive, arranged for us a boat when we arrive at midnight. He was very quick in responding all the time. the place was squeaky clean and new, and the people who helped us get in were very hospitable. The island has no cars so walking is the only mode of transport and adds to its charm. the place is a short walk on dirt roads to a number of great restaurants. check out was a breeze. The beds were full size and the pillows and mattress were firm side. We loved the place and would stay there again!

An elderly man with a heart of gold, Saif took care of me like his own son. From the moment I arrived, he welcomed me with genuine warmth and kindness. He made sure I was comfortable, well-fed, and felt like part of his family. It’s rare to come across someone so pure-hearted and selfless. Every day at his guest house was filled with peace, comfort, and connection. Whether we were sharing tea, exchanging stories, or simply enjoying the quiet beauty of Aswan, I felt completely at home. Saif, thank you for giving me some of the best and most memorable days of my trip to Egypt. I’ll carry your kindness and hospitality with me always.

It was one of the most unique experiences we had. The hosts are really helpful with everything, helped us to get there, booked our Abu Simbel trip, cooked amazing (incl vegan) food, took on a free walking tour…. I would even recommend my friends to visit this place.
