“Very stylish place, in a quiet location with beautiful views. We stayed here as a base to hike in the High Peaks, and it was ideal - good beds and shower, lovely little second-story porch with table to enjoy dinners after a long day of hiking (and a well-equipped kitchen to make dinner), and a very thoughtful host. Highly recommended, and I hope we have the opportunity to stay here again!”
Cabin located across from Macomb State Park providing access to cross country skiing. 30 minute drive to Whiteface Mt. Ski Area. Sleeps 4 with 2 twins and a double in upstairs loft. Fully furnished kitchen, bath with shower. Quiet space.
“This place is perfect !! Donald is amazing very accommodating, his place is very clean with rustic decor ! It also has everything you need as far as pots pans utensils even had some basics in the closet as far as rice and coffee. The place reminded me of the home on the series “the ranch “ it has beautiful pine railings. The beach is a 5 minute walk and there is ample places around to hike . Donald will tell you all about them. My only mistake was not booking it for more time. You won’t be disappointed !! Donald should be very proud”
Seasonal Cabin. Whether you are hiking, biking, climbing or paddling, Hiker's Cabin is an economical and comfortable place to stay. Private, not secluded. Outdoor shower. Screened in kitchen. Electric heater for cool nights. Grill / fire pit.
“My husband, 20 month old and I had a wonderful 3 night stay at hiker's cabin! We brought our pack n play for the baby and my husband and I slept soundly on the hiker's cabin bed. We all were very excited to take a vacation away from the crazy world and appreciated the quiet solitude of the cabin. The decorations were very cute and added a homey feel to the cabin. And I personally loved cooking breakfast on the porch with the birds chirping in the background. We walked to Macomb State Park every day- like Don mentioned, it is very close and a short convenient walk. We enjoyed the beach to ourselves- literally no one was there! We all loved playing in the sand and water. We also loved just exploring- the State park has a nature trail and also we just walked around showing the baby nature! We drove - 10min? to the Saranac River and my husband cast a few but we were rained out. The Saranac River is a picturesque river that you would see in an outdoor magazine! We enjoyed smores by the fire - even though it was pretty muggy- you can't camp with out a smore! We loved the simplicity and relaxing trip and appreciate everything about Hiker's Cabin- and hope to visit again!”
