Cottage small but nice between the greenery

The cottage can be found in a green wooded area, the village with shops, supermarket and some restaurants is 3 km away. You can enjoy outside in a small garden, the birds can be heard. The cottage has a living room with kitchenette (2 gas burners, fridge, freezer, sink, kettle and coffee maker), bathroom with shower, toilet, sink and adjoining you will also find the washing machine. The bedroom has a single bed and plenty of closet space. We provide a bike and further you can use the bus stop 500m from the cottage. The cottage is located behind the main house and is completely separated from it.

This gives you the opportunity to be on site throughout the entire time of the event, so you don't have to miss anything and are close to your horses. We placed the motorhome in the parking lot for you. You do need to reserve a parking space with electricity through the secretariat of the Azelhof. You will let you know at what hour you will arrive and we will then be on site to receive you. Note:No pets allowed!

La Granota

On top of the Heistse mountain, you are less than 5 minutes away from the Heistse shopping street with breakfast and other eateries, cozy cafes with terraces and the cultural center. The famous Hnita Jazzhoeve is 2 km away, the meadow of Werchter is 15 km away. La Granota is only 20 minutes walk from the train station. So Leuven or Antwerp are close. Guests are always very welcome! Only in the winter we do not rent out because we will then organize photo exhibitions there.

We felt very comfortable. The location is great, yet it is quiet and very relaxed. Parking is available behind the house. There is a very nicely landscaped terrace area in front of, next to and behind the house, the room is equipped with a really comfortable bed, the bathroom clean and modern. Elke and her family were very nice, thank you. We will be back for sure. (Tip: The cafe recommended for breakfast is a bakery store in a large parking lot. Quite ok, but if you like to sit outside and have a cafe atmosphere, you should avoid one of the other offers nearby.)

I stayed at Griet's for a week while visiting Mechelen for a conference. The attic room is peaceful, comfortable, and like a little cottage atop of her house - private yet still connected through shared hallways, bathroom, and a gorgeous backyard. Griet was communicative and flexible with check in, supplied me with eggs from her chickens, and a powerful fan when the weather got very hot for a few days. She took time to talk with me about Mechelen and Belgium, and social issues in the world. Much of the time I was in and out of my room without much interaction, but openness to conversation and exchange really brightened my days. This was hands down one of my favorite experiences facilitated through AirBnB.
