All About Scarborough
Known for its surf, long stretches of white sand, and vibrant nightlife, Scarborough Beach in Western Australia is a popular holiday destination that’s a 20 minute drive northwest of Perth. When the wind whips up, the area can also be a fantastic spot for kitesurfing and windsurfing. There are all sorts of fun and diverse activities to keep kids entertained in and around Scarborough, including a children’s adventure playground, a three-tier skate park, outdoor amphitheatre, and most recently, a geo-thermally heated open-air public pool. The beach itself offers a sought-after surf break, and many people travel to Scarborough for a surfing getaway. After a lengthy stint in the water, you can also spend time relaxing in one of the many cafes or bars along the foreshore which recently underwent a renovation before heading back to your Scarborough holiday apartment. Scarborough also has the only amphitheatre on the beach in Western Australia — a superb place to enjoy live entertainment all year round.

Depending on the proximity of your Scarborough holiday apartments, you can either explore the beach and foreshore on foot, or you may wish to hire a car if you’re keen to venture further afield.
When is the best time to stay in a holiday rental in Scarborough?
Scarborough is a popular summer destination, with its wide range of water activities, outdoor restaurants, and cafes. Many Australians head to this beautiful part of the coast over their summer holidays. The weather over summer is typically hot and dry during the day, with balmy evenings that are perfect for watching the sunset over the ocean as well as for dining outdoors. The town is quieter and more subdued during other seasons, which is ideal for visitors who are looking for a more tranquil getaway. The quietest few months for Scarborough beach are over winter, although many people like this season for its cooler weather and uncrowded waves. Winter in Scarborough is still fairly mild, so don’t forget to pack your shorts.
