Holiday rentals with outdoor seating in Santo António das Areias

It was spacious, well equipped and better than the photos depicted. Alison and Rod have renovated this property with love and care and provided everything you need and more for a relaxing stay.

It was like a retreat! It was just what we needed: rest, calm, privacy. We were able to catch up on our tanning and reading. Having breakfast outdoors is such a simple thing, but in the rush of life it is not so easy and at Ana's house it was mandatory! We loved all the sunsets we watched and hope to return. Marvão is undoubtedly wonderful. We recommend Paulo Gouveia's studio where we bought a beautiful painting where cork is the main character. It will have a special place in our living room where we will remember this vacation filled with peace and harmony. We wish Ana and her space the greatest success and thank her for all the tips and the tasty bottle of wine she left us!

An oasis of peace and a very enchanting property with its own charm and character. We enjoyed our stay, friendly and open-minded people, James cares and cares wherever possible. Rarely have we felt so welcome and comfortable. The cleanliness and amenities are excellent. In nearby Vila de Rei you will find everything you need. We would love to repeat our stay in the future, we miss it already.

Beautiful home in a beautiful setting. Peaceful, quiet, and I loved the orange and lemon trees. Listening to the birds while enjoying the view was a real treat! Joao was extremely professional and communicative - it’s clear he has put a lot of time and attention into the Airbnb.

The house is very peaceful, comfortable, very clean, well-decorated, and well arranged. We had a great time together. Sandra is very friendly, available and responsive. We recommend.

Florbela’s place is beautiful and serene , we had a great time …. Enjoyed the river , the garden with all the fresh vegetables, and the lemons / oranges from the trees . Most exceptional was our host Florbela: even before we arrived she helped us plan everything, met us at the house ( we arrived on Christmas Day ), gave us a tour of the place , left us with a freshly cooked delicious pot of soup , and stocked the house with breakfast supplies that lasted the whole week . She made sure we received freshly baked bread every morning, and personally chose pastries to be delivered for our breakfast. Very generous and thoughtful, The best host we have ever had . We will back for sure , in the summer … And we highly recommend her place for anyone looking for an authentic, fun experience in central Portugal .

This location is perfect if you want to drive and spend a few days exploring the Alentejo. Multiple towns are nearby. Evora is a great all day trip, including the megaliths outside of town, and you get to leave all the guided groups behind. Elvas is a wonderful town very near the border with Spain. Villa Real is a gem. Arraiolos is known for weaving rugs. Evoramonte is close by and has terrific views. All of these towns are hilltop towns with castles. The regional wine is terrific, the cork industry is fascinating, the olives, oranges, and lemons, are great, and you are in the middle of the area of marble quarrying. The towns are predominantly full of white buildings with mustard or blue trim and lot and lots of marble. Fica’s place is comfortable, quiet, and has restaurants, bakeries, drugstores, and small shops just steps away.

Fiona was a fantastic host. Easy-going, considerate, and respectful. The apartment looked exactly as advertised and it had everything we needed. We had a pleasant and relaxing time, and 100% would recommend staying here.

We stayed in the “wall”. It is a small but spectacular house, inside one of the most quiet and secluded areas of the castle. It has a walled courtyard, which for us was an added value since we also took our bige. In fact, ALs that accept animals are always to be congratulated because they suffer from the scarcity. The house is in an area where it is difficult to go by car (although it is possible but the streets are too narrow) and Mr Luís was very helpful to take us (to us, to our bags and to our dog) to the house at check in, which was a great help. Even so, walking access is fast. We recommend it.

My family and I had a lovely week with Denise and her daughter. The apartment was lovely bright and spacious, with 3 good rooms. We especially enjoyed the garden, pool and lemon tree. It was easy to drive out to the many beautiful cities and hikes.

James was a lovely host and a pleasure to get to know! We stayed here for a wedding in the area & were consistently impressed by how he went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome. The surrounding area is certainly beautiful - definitely stay if you have the chance. Loved getting to chat with the host throughout our time, and he always provided recommendations or answers to our questions. Huge plus that there are two lovely dogs on the property who love to greet guests. Thank you for everything!

We had a really nice stay here. The views from the pool are incredible! The kitchen is well stocked and there are lots of trails a short drive away. My partner used the canoe and went out on the lake. The owner lives next door and is very relaxed and friendly. We took our dog and she got on very well with his two dogs. If you have a baby it’s worth asking in advance if you need a cot as we didn’t do this and one wasn’t available. If your baby is very mobile it wouldn’t be very safe on the pool deck as there is a big-ish drop.

A very pleasant stop in this region that we discovered, and the gîte de Désirée is a big part of it! The apartment is comfortable and very functional, and the village welcoming.

We had a very enjoyable two weeks at Natalie and Simon's place. The sunsets were incredibly beautiful given the unobstructed views right from our balcony. The apartment is spacious and comfortable. Our hosts made sure we were cosy and warm by heating the place for us when we got home from our daytrips in the evening. We also had a steady supply of fresh eggs, oranges and more. We recommend this place to anyone who appreciates a slower paced rural lifestyle, perfect for rest and relaxation and exploring the area.

It's a wonderful place, both for the place and the hosts. Although we had a little time, we felt right at home. Repeating for sure! :)

Pete and Linda are the best hosts we've ever had on Airbnb. They both went out of their way to make us happy and comfortable, from local restaurant recommendations to pool toys and everything in-between. Our daughter had an amazing holiday! The house itself is charming, with tonnes of space and everything you could need. The pool is fantastic and well kept. The local area is remote and beautiful with gorgeous countryside everywhere and some charming river beaches. I managed a run down from the house to the beach and back a couple of times but it's pretty hilly. In short, we couldn't recommend this place more. Thanks

Spectacular experience! From the time of booking to check-out, Mrs. Sonia and Mr. Rui were impeccable with us. Always very attentive and responsive to any questions we had. The house itself is spectacular and matches the description/photographs. We were super happy with the choice and the conditions. The location of the condominium is very good. It's in a quiet place and 20 minutes from the big hypermarkets. The neighborhood is super friendly, and access to the pool is definitely a bonus. All this culminated in a great week of vacation! Definitely an experience to repeat. I highly recommend Mrs. Sónia and Mr. Rui to anyone who wants to visit Tomar and/or take a relaxing vacation, far from the chaos of the city!

Paula really goes above and beyond to make it as comfortable as possible. What a sweet, nice woman and what a nice house it is. We were there in a rather wet period and in the house it was cold. But there was enough wood for the stove and she came to bring us electric heaters for the bedrooms. We also didn't arrive until 12:30 at night and we had communicated that so there were fresh eggs and sandwiches in the house in the morning because the village was rather remote (which is wonderful for peace and quiet). But we also learned that a bakery came by at night and that you could put a bag with a note in it and you had fresh bread in the morning! I can tell so much, but you have to experience it yourself. Anyway: Paula is a winner!
