Cave holiday rentals in Santa Cruz de Tenerife

An absolute must stay - so peaceful and such an incredible experience. We agreed it's one of the best airbnbs we've stayed in - really special experience, tucked away in the little mountain hideaway. would recommend doing a shop and settling in for a couple of days!

We loved the place! And our kids loved it even more, if possible! If we had known how great it was, we would have booked more days. The place and the cave was magical, and the hosts very friendly and gave us lots of good tips of where to go. We would really recommend this place and hope to come back one day! Thank you Anja and Wanja and your lovely kids! (I know our youngest found a good friend and hope to come back to visit!)

It was an amazing place to stay so beautiful and serene. You could just stare at the ocean all day. The house is based in a tiny village in the north which is far away from any of the touristy places which is what we both loved. Christelle was a great host and went the extra mile. She left us little goodies mostly local produce which was such a sweet idea. When we got there she showed us around the place and came and said bye when we left. I loved the fact that if you aren’t able to take everything back with you like water they pass it on to people who are less fortunate on the island. Overall it was such a lovely place to stay that is well looked after with a great host

We stayed at Angela’s villa in early April, the villa is as described and the views are even better than the photos. We tended to eat breakfast on the roof terrace, it starts to get the sun by 08:30, and the view of mount Teide tended to be clear first thing- what a great way to start the day. The lounge area is huge, the TV is large and modern. My kids loved the pool which was clean, heated and not too deep, my 12 year old daughter was never out of her depth- hours of fun were had during our stay. From the pool area (or practically anywhere in the villa) you can watch the sunset over the sea. We ate at several lovely Canarian restaurants nearby, we drove to them all as pavements are not a prerequisite- though several are walkable within about 10min uphill. A car is essential for this villa, and will enable you to explore the island. Our family loved Siam Park, we also had a great boat trip whale watching and went up to Teide national park- a must if it’s a clear day (or night).

We had a nice time in the cave house. The bed is large and comfortable for sleeping. In the living room, you can make yourself really comfortable on the sofas with blankets. The cave is very well air-conditioned, when it is hot outside, the cave is pleasantly cool and when it gets cold at night, it is warm in the cave. The view is great, you can look down to the sea. Unfortunately, only if it is windy is the yard exactly in a wind tunnel, so it is advisable to check the weather beforehand. Again and again we got visitors from stray cats and sometimes even dogs, but these were cute and unproblematic. The cave is well located for hiking and not far from the airport by car. You have your peace and quiet. However, the cave is secluded from nightlife, tourist areas and beautiful beaches. Communication with Pilar was prompt, friendly and very straightforward. We were even able to check in a little earlier than originally planned.

Staying here was truly a magical experience. Our hosts were absolutely lovely—so kind, welcoming, and full of fascinating stories. They went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home, and their knowledge of the area brought everything to life. The caves were something out of a fairytale—each one unique, with its own history and atmosphere. You could feel the character and stories etched into the stone. It’s rare to find a place that’s both peaceful and awe-inspiring, but this is exactly that. A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful hosts for sharing this special place with us. Highly recommended for anyone looking for something truly memorable!

Laureano was a great host, always responsive and helpful. The view from the cozy cave was absolutely stunning. Plus, the charming fishing villages of Candelaria and Puertito de Güímar are just a few minutes away by car — perfect for a quick visit.

The only regret from our visit to Ingrid and Jonathan’s cave during our time on Tenerife is that we didn’t spend our entire holiday enveloped in its charm. This extraordinary cave alone is worth a trip to Tenerife, standing in a league of its own, far surpassing any other offering on Airbnb. The all-encompassing sense of bliss in this cave exceeds every expectation and then some, leaving no detail overlooked and no worry unaddressed. Nestled along a breathtaking coastline, the cave is adorned with such devotion and care that it feels like a sanctuary. Every corner radiates warmth, thoughtfully crafted to ensure you want for nothing. Jonathan and Ingrid are nothing short of remarkable—warm, approachable, and exceptionally responsive hosts. Their flexibility and genuine kindness elevate the experience to something truly unforgettable. We will forever cherish the memories of this magical slice of paradise, so lovingly shared with the world by Jonathan and Ingrid.

We spent two weeks in this truly special place — and it’s actually even more beautiful than in the photos. We couldn’t stop marveling at the breathtaking view (even from the bed!). You can spend hours simply watching the sea and the activity in Santa Cruz and its harbor through the binoculars provided in the cave — all in absolute peace and quiet. Only at dusk do you hear the charming and quirky calls of the seabirds, which somehow make the atmosphere even more magical. The location of the cave was also perfect for exploring La Palma by rental car. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, you can simply head to the other side of the island, or choose a DVD from the large collection and get cozy indoors. Thanks to the adorable little gecko roommates, we didn’t encounter a single mosquito during our entire stay. To top it all off, Jeroen and Coco are wonderful hosts — helpful, full of great tips, but never intrusive. We already miss the cave and will definitely be back!
