By far the best AirBNB we've ever stayed! They've thought of every necessity (extra towels, water, first aid kit, flashlights, etc.) and novelties (bird/animal guides, toys, Uno, coffee/tea options), and it was noticably spotless when we arrived. The jungle setting with daily visits from the howler monkeys while laying on the hammock or net was always exciting. It was such a a comfortable setting we probably spent more time there than we would've in a hotel, despite the many other activities during our visit. A car is necessary, but it's an easy drive to San Ignacio and other popular sites, or tours can also pick up at your location. We would love to plan future visits here!

There’s lots to be grateful for here, from us needing to check in hours earlier and that being a breeze, to the food left for us - very welcome after an overnight bus when we were hungry for breakfast. The AC and washer/dryer was a blessing, and we loved having a TV to watch stuff in the evening. Everything was clean and very well stocked. Occasionally we felt a little unsafe here, I think that was due to the building site around making us feel vulnerable and some of the internal door locks not working well. We also felt it needed a cosy touch, like a coffee table or some side tables to put a drink next to the sofa in the evening. Overall, this is a great stay in San Ignacio.

My husband and I loved our time in San Ignacio and coming back to the Hummingbird retreat every day was delightful! We took full advantage of their recommendations for restaurants and activities. It was fun seeing all the wildlife in their little nook of jungle. Peter was responsive and so helpful while we were making plans for excursions. 10/10 recommend if you’re in the area!
