We have created a space with high ceilings and a relaxing space where you can relax with a delicious coffee or tea in one hand while looking at the garden.Please relax and spread your wings in peace. Older houses tend to be dismantled in general.However, in order to preserve the old things, we carefully cared for ourselves and prepared to welcome you to use it as an asset.There is a spacious Japanese garden and an authentic tea room in the Japanese-style room, so you can experience it while living in Japanese culture. On the other hand, we have a range of furniture and appliances that are easy to use.We are pursuing cultural enjoyment and ease of living at the same time. There are seasonal garden trees in the garden, so I think you can enjoy them throughout the season. My hobby is collecting bonsai and traditional Japanese pottery.While living at this inn, I hope you can experience Real Japan on a daily basis with Japanese culture. I would love for you to take your time and enjoy your stay and the culture in the historic and charming town of Furukawa, where I was born and raised. It is a spacious 4LDK in a pure Japanese-style house. It is a safe, independent space. People working remotely and people temporarily returning from overseas are also happy. There is a calm living room and a Japanese-style room with a view of the Japanese-style garden. On the second floor, there is an 8-tatami Japanese-style room, a 4.5-tatami Japanese-style room, and a 9-tatami Western-style room with a piano overlooking the sea. Why not enjoy a cup of tea on the veranda while looking out at the ocean? There are many rooms, so enjoy a trip with your family and friends. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, this is a quiet and calm environment where you can enjoy writing and reading. The kitchen is equipped with an IH cooking heater, electric pot, rice cooker, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, pots, dishes, and other necessities. There is a laundry room and a large drying space on the 2nd floor veranda. The bathroom has large windows and high ceilings, making it a pleasant space. Amenities such as toothbrushes, bath caps, cotton sets, etc. are also available. If the owner has time, we will pick you up at the station by car when you arrive.

Welcome to Richard Flavin's Washi House! Richard Flavin (1943–2020) was a Japanese paper artist originally from the US. He studied design in Boston and came to Japan in 1970. He later studied woodblock printing and developed a deep interest in the production of washi. He also cultivated the raw material for washi paper, paper mulberry. We invite those interested in washi paper and art to stay overnight and enjoy this space, reminiscent of a washi paper museum, including these unfinished areas.
