Keep your expectations for the age of the building, location (being downtown shelbyville), and price and you wont be disappointed. The building has wear and tear but nothing that made the stay any less comfortable. My fur baby appreciated it too.

It won’t be a hidden gem for long. This house and its surroundings are absolutely ideal for a family getaway. If there’s one word to sum it all up, it’s “comfortable.” Blending modern amenities with charming historic details, the home made our group of 10 feel instantly at ease. We cooked meals, gathered around for dinner, played cards, and shared stories—whether in the spacious living room, the open-concept kitchen, or the dining area, we could all stay connected. At the same time, anyone needing a nap could rest peacefully without being disturbed. Warm, welcoming, and absolutely worth the trip. Looking to book again for next years family gathering.

We really enjoyed our time at their cottage. It was the peaceful getaway that we needed and close to our relatives that we were visiting. It was beautifully decorated; I enjoyed the ambiance. The bed was comfortable. To walk the premises and follow the creek into the woods was fun. There is no Wi-Fi, but we were successful in using our phones as hot-spots, a new experience for us. We enjoyed talking with her husband when he was tending their venue next door. They are very nice people and responsive when we had questions or needed things. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back when in the neighborhood.

Great location. My wife and I were wanting to do some things in the downtown area of Columbus. We could walk or drive, whichever we chose to do. My wife appreciated that there were two full bathrooms, especially when there were other guests in the home. Would definitely stay again if we're in the area.
