Places to stay in Woolford
Nature's Rest is ideally located, just minutes to Blackwater Wildlife Refuge The Harriet Tubman Museum, as well as boat ramps for easy access to the Chesapeake Bay and it's tributaries for enjoying Maryland's Eastern Shore. We have plenty of parking, so bring your boat, bikes, and binoculars. Just mins from downtown Cambridge for dining & shopping. Discover the many quaint towns the area has to offer, come for a night, or stay as long as you'd like, look forward to meeting you.
When you turn onto RT 335...Golden Hill Rd... **PLEASE** look to your **IMMEDIATE** left, my parking lot is just before the FIRST street light, between me and my neighbor. You can pull straight into the parking lot at the end of the service road. Parking is in front of the garage, the apt is on the second floor. It was a complete gut remodel, the entry doors are on the garage next to the patio. It's a charming space, with an upgraded bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen. I think you'll find all the comforts of home during your stay, there is a daybed and an air mattress for added sleeping arrangements, as well as a pack -n- play for infants an toddlers. The **brown light switch** at the top of the stairs closest to the entry door is for the stairwell. If you are inclined to compete in the "Eagleman/Ironman" competitions, or come for the "Wild Goose Chase" the apt is across the street from the Church Creek Park n Ride. If you're going to Salisbury for the "Seagull Century" we're about 40ish minutes away. **Offered at a flat rate**
Our historic village was founded in the late 1600's, and was a hub for boat building. Both the town and river of Church Creek derive their name from the nearby Episcopal church, now known as Old Trinity Church, built c. 1675. The church was deconstructed in England an reconstructed in Church Creek. In 1867, Church Creek officially became the forty-second Incorporated town in Maryland.
  • Unfortunately we had to cancel our reservation due to COVID 19. But upto the cancellation, Wende was quick to respond to our questions. We hope to go sometime in the future.

  • Beautiful airbnb! Beds and pillows were so confortable, sheets so soft.. we sleep soo well that it was hard to get out of bed in the morning. Place is beautiful and functional and has everything you need to cook. Balcony is also very nice to have! We would definitely recommend to stay here, such a lovely place!

    Alejandra2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wende's apartment is just plain homey. My group of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) felt comfortable right away. I will definitely be back. Wende is very kind, and even provided a tin of homemade cookies for us, as well as set the apartment up specifically for our group (blowing up air mattress ahead of time, etc). She was also very responsive and communicative, and all of the logistical parts of staying here were very smooth. Best of all, this apartment is minutes from Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge! A fantastic home base for exploring.

    Katie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I booked our stay last minute and Wende was incredibly responsive as we prepared for our trip. The apartment was excellent and even bigger/nicer than we expected. Wende was very friendly and even made us a batch of cookies! The apartment is located on the second story of the house and has wonderful natural light and a view out across fields. I would come back in a heart beat!

  • A quiet place away from the city for a long weekend. Visit Cambridge or the wild refugee. Beautiful scenery around. The place was welcoming and had everything you need for your time away. Must book

    Justin2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • It's very clean and she had made fresh cupcakes for us to enjoy.

    Douglas2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Location is great for Blackwater access.

  • Wende is an incredible host!! We stayed here while visiting family for Christmas, and she decorated with Christmas decor...she even had a clove-scented hand soap in the bathroom, which was amazing! She had cookies for us, a pack n play for our baby, and a home that was generally perfect for all we needed. The space was clean, and had all we needed for our stay-we made breakfast in the morning and weren’t lacking in cooking utensils. I really can’t say enough good things about our stay, I felt that the value for the dollar was top-notch. Thank you, Wende!

  • Huge thanks to Georgina and Alex for accommodating us in this beautiful home. We felt comfortable and right at home as soon as we arrived. The house was sparkling clean and fully stocked for even a long term stay. Beds were incredibly comfortable, many different pillow choices, lots of towels and sheets. We loved waking up to the peaceful waterfront view and very much appreciated the kayaks and toys in the garage. Also, we loved picking up local produce at Emily’s Produce. PERFECT stay and amazing hosts. Thank you!

    Melissa2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Georgina and Alex's place is AMAZING in every way. First, the home is gorgeous, updated, immaculate and has every amenity you can possibly think of to cook and prepare food, as well as keep the place clean. We love to cook and really enjoyed the modern state of the art kitchen. Second, the bed in the master bedroom is so comfortable you'll sleep for days. Third, the water view and fire pit are WONDERFUL for relaxing and escaping. The property is very private and the lot is huge and beautiful. Fourth, it's located right on the bike trail for a number of bike events because of the shoulders and high quality roads and leads to the wonderful Blackwater Wildlife Refuge. Finally, the house gets wonderful light and the space is great to hang in all day, reading a book. We can't wait to go back. The hosts are also VERY quick and thoughtful responders--can't ask for a single thing more of this place. It's a gem in every way. Thank you for letting us stay!! Stefanie

  • Beautiful place on a lovely creek, with kayaks, etc. Very close to the Blackwater NWR and the new Tubman center.

    Scott2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I LOVED our stay at Georgina’s fabulous home! We took advantage of the picturesque backyard on the river and the kayaks, corn hole and croquet. It was an easy drive in to Cambridge where we celebrated my special birthday at Bistro Poplar.....would highly recommend it to other guests! Everything that we needed was thoughtfully provided; fully stocked beautiful kitchen, comfy beds and a great place to gather! Wish we could have moved in or at least stayed longer!!

    Kim2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent time at Georgina's place. The pictures don't adequately capture how peaceful and scenic the property is. Far more kitchen tools and appliances than we expected. The guest book was filled with excellent tips about the area. Alex and Georgina responded promptly with professionalism and kindness. They went above and beyond when they offered to mail back an item left behind! Can't recommend enough.

  • Katy and Ricks place is a true gem. Not just the environment but the two of them truly welcome you and make you feel right at home. I loved the step in tub. It’s one of those that you close the door and then fill the tub. So amazing! At night, I opened the windows and listened to the frogs and cicadas...so soothing. I’m planning on returning next year and this time, I’ll be saying longer.

    Michelle2020-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing hospitality. Kathie & Rick miss no detail! From the home-made scones, impeccable space and the nature-filled land that they share with their guests! Best airbnb yet! A little piece of heaven!!

    Victor Joanna2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Top-notch ratings for hospitality, comfort, and sparkling clean space! Kathy and Rick are wonderful hosts who love to share the beauty of their farm with others, and the thoughtful touches--especially the breakfast and snack supplies--made our stay very enjoyable. Thank you! We'll be back!

    Sara2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay with Rick and Kathy who are wonderful hosts. The place is super clean and comfortable. Rick gave us a very informative tour of their beautiful property. We wouldn’t go anywhere else when visiting the area.

    Patricia2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Comfort, quiet, and thoughtful touches make this one of the top Airbnbs I've ever stayed in. Can't wait to bring family back for more than a one-night stay. The hike through the property's lob lolly pine acreage with its pond, photo blind and natural beauty is worth the trip alone. Having quick access to Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge and the surrounding area is a definite plus. Rick was most interesting as he shared his knowledge of the area and history of the amazing trees on his property. An A-plus stay for sure!

    Ann2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Rick took excellent care of us with helpful suggestions. Their place is a beautiful, nature infused location which is a welcome change and so close to Blackwater NWR.

    Kevin2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy and Rick are Super-hosts, who have warm and cozy guest accommodations that are kept neat and very clean. Their location on the Eastern Shore, near the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, offers outdoor activities, eagle sightings and other birds and wildlife. Or you could settle in with a good book, whichever suites you. We would definitely recommend this to friends.

  • Beautiful house near downtown. Very comfortable. Adorable, friendly cat.

    Sammie2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Quick overnight with Shannon and her husband and dog and cat while passing through toward the coast. The space felt more like a guest room in their home than perhaps a more commercial B&B but was safe and comfortable and met our needs! They were really flexible about our delayed arrival due to traffic too, which was greatly appreciated!

The extra sitting room and patio really enhance longer stays and the location is perfect for year-round activities, especially the proximity to great dining.

  • I stayed with Omeaka for IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman. Her home is in the perfect location for the race - only one block from transition! Omeaka is very welcoming and friendly, and yet there are times when you don't even know she is there. She was also very quick to respond to messages. I would absolutely stay with her again! :)

  • I stayed at Heather and Ken's house for IM70.3 Eagleman. The place was very convenient to the shuttle pick-up/drop-off location, just a few minutes, which made race morning extremely easy and stress free. The house had all of the amenities that you would need and expect (refrigerator/microwave/towels...etc.). I was happy that I paid extra for the room with it's own bathroom as well, just be mindful that the bed in this room is on the smaller side. Overall great experience and would recommend.

  • Heather was outstanding. We had a little hiccup for travel plans and she was so accommodating.

  • i rented this room for IMMD 2015. it is in a great location. 2 minutes from downtown cambridge, 5 minutes from great marsh park where the race was held, and 3 minutes away from maces middle school where shuttles run to the race site on race day. i had my own single bed room with ensuite bathroom on the first floor of the house. heather was a great host who provided fresh towels and let me access anything i needed in the house, including kitchen, laundry room. when the race got cancelled and rescheduled for 2 wks later, heather was great about letting me reschedule with no question or hassles. communication was quick and she was very responsive. i highly recommend getting a room from heather where your money will go to a local!

  • Heather and her family are incredibly accommodating hosts, efficient with communication, and gracious with the common spaces. My boyfriend and I stayed one night in Cambridge for the EagleMan triathlon, of which we were able to get a long, comfortable night's sleep. Heather thoughtfully set up coffee for us in the morning and let us return after the race to shower. She went above and beyond!

Welcome Our home is 104 years old and is very charming and comfortable. Most of the floors and doors are original so they do creak and moan abit. Guests are welcome to join us in our living areas. We also have a beautiful veranda they are welcome to use. We have a very friendly dog and cat. Space is not suitable for infants or children.
Just 2 blocks to the water or a short walk to historic downtown Cambridge where you’ll find great restaurants, beverages and shops
  • Shannon and Alvaro were amazing hosts and their home in Cambridge is so lovely! The space was cozy and clean, with beautiful little touches in the decorating. Shannon and Alvaro were also kind enough to give me some wonderful tips on things to do while in Cambridge. Their home is located conveniently close to the center of town, and also walkable to two waterside parks. I had a wonderful stay and if I ever make it back to Cambridge, I hope to stay here again!

    Kate2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice space. I didn't have a chance to meet Shannon because of my late arrival, but everything was as promised. If you stay here be sure to close doors within the house completely. It really is historical and they are tricky. The cat was a sweetheart but he decided I was his friend and followed me to the bedroom (this was NOT a problem). Otherwise everything was as promised, actually more was received than what was promised. I will most likely reserve Dragonfly again if I'm in the area because it's cleaner than the hotels in Cambridge and cost less.

  • Shannon was a great host. Clear and friendly communication, easy checkin, comfy bed. Would stay again.

  • Shannon and Alvaro were top notch hosts. Great communication and a wonderful home. They even prepped snacks, juices and waters for us racers at IRONMAN Maryland. Lovely porch in the front and picnic table in the back. Just a 10 minute walk from Gerry Boyle park. A wonderful stay!

    Simon2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Shannon and Alvaro were great hosts! They met us right as we arrived and made us truly feel at home. We walked in and we're greeted with hospitality and the friendly pets are definitely a plus! The room was spotless and they had extra snacks and a drink in the room for us when we arrived. It's in a great location too. The amazing hosts also gave us suggestions on where to go. The house is just a block from the Choptank River and a really nice park. It's also close to their quaint little downtown area. We would not hesitate to stay again. Thanks so much!

    Donna2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • I had a lovely stay in the Dragonfly room! The bed was amazingly comfortable and relaxing after a day full of activity. I enjoyed the dog and cat. They were both super friendly. The house is on a quiet street and an easy walk to a nearby restaurant. Other restaurants were only a 15 minute walk. I look forward to another stay in the future.

  • Excellent place to relax and get away. Super super clean. Very convenient the views are awesome. I spent the whole day there with family and was a fantastic experience. Very nice and quiet area. Joshua was extremely helpful and very quick when we had questions to respond. Would definitely recommend!

  • Our stay at Josh’s place was great. The house is exactly as the pictures show it - and the view out the back is awesome. We were able to bring our two dogs and, despite not having a fenced yard, there was ample room to take them on long walks on back roads. There was an unusually high tide on the day we were supposed to arrive and Josh called/texted to warn us about it - we made adjustments as needed and Josh was super-fast on responding via text, which was really helpful. We had a great stay!

    Heather2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Joshua was so easy to work/communicate with. If you are looking for quiet estuary on bay with water access this is a great place. Great fresh crab to go spot within a few miles - Daniel’s or Dale’s?

  • It is truly a great get away! Josh was an amazing host! He answered any questions we had quickly and provided suggestions for the area. We brought our kids and dog with us. There was no WiFi, which gave our family plenty of time to disconnect and enjoy the warm water full of life all the way up to the edge of the private beach. This place is perfect for canoeing and kayaking. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets every day by the fire pit. We will have many beautiful memories from this trip. Thank You Josh!

Classic Eastern Shore home with new kitchen and bathroom. Five minutes from Cambridge, Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, and the new Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad museum. Ideal spot for cycling, birding, fishing, canoeing, relaxing or exploring the many cute towns of Maryland's Eastern Shore. Just over an hour from Ocean City and Assateague National Seashore. Pet friendly with fenced backyard. The Eastern Shore is famous for its seafood, history, nature and fresh produce! Come explore!
Little old farmhouse with updated features in the tiny town of Church Creek Maryland (population 125), five minutes from Cambridge. A great base for Eastern Shore activities in a quiet, country setting. The house has two levels. The first floor has a new kitchen where we provide many staples should you decide to grill or cook in. It also has a laundry room, dining room and living room containing comfortable furniture where you can sit to watch the gorgeous sunset through the French doors or relax with DVDs that we provide. The couch is a pull out bed for an extra guest or two. The second floor has three bedrooms and a bathroom. The third bedroom must be accessed through the master bedroom or the "hidden" back staircase typical of old country homes (a favorite feature of visiting children!). The backyard is fenced for any canine friends, and has a table - perfect for your crab feast - Adirondack chairs and a grill. There are lovely fields beyond our backyard with a grassy walking path down to a playground in one direction and to Church Creek (the river itself, not the town) in the other direction. The large grassy area between the back fence and crop fields is also our property, and a great space for some frisbee, a game of bocce (an Italian "ball game") or corn hole toss - all provided. Mini-split cooling units keeps the house nice and cool in summer, with a window unit air conditioner in the back bedroom for extra cooling.
Church Creek is the quintessential small Eastern Shore town - quiet and quaint with old country houses and beautiful farmland (there's a bald eagle that lives out behind our house). It's located in Dorchester County, six miles from Cambridge, Maryland. Driving time from the house to popular Eastern Shore destinations: Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Historical Park - 5 minutes; Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge - 7 minutes; Cambridge, MD - 7 minutes; Taylor's Island - 10 minutes; Easton, MD - 30 minutes; Hooper's Island (Old Salty's Restaurant: "Best Crab Cakes on the Eastern Shore") - 30 minutes; St. Michaels, MD - 40 minutes Salisbury, MD - 40 minutes; Ocean City, MD - One hour and 15 minutes; Assateague State Park and Assateague National Seashore - One hour and 15 minutes.
  • Lovely and comfortable place to stay that is in the heart of nature's paradise. Many options of things to do in the area. Found many great places to eat as well that were nearby.

  • Very sweet house in a great location. We went for the Harriet Tubman museum and the Blackwater Refuge. Both were just minutes away. Nina is the perfect host. She's responsive (like REALLY responsive) and offers great tips for the area. This is the reason you want to stay in an airbnb. You get a local experience that can't be had in a hotel or resort. Shout out to Rebecca as well, as the house was super clean and tidy. It's clear she takes a lot of care in this. It shows!

  • Nina’s place is a wonderful choice for folks that want to be close to Cambridge but don’t want to be in the city. It is a very quaint house with a large fenced in backyard. Nina was wonderfully prompt in her replies and extremely accommodating to my circumstances. Am planning on another trip very soon - thanks Nina! Aaron

    Aaron2019-12-23T00:00:00Z

The Wilson house is a private waterfront home on Hudson Creek a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay and is a very peaceful, beautiful Eastern Shore property. The house has been recently remodeled and upgraded. This is the perfect place for kayaking, paddle boarding, crabbing, boating, bike riding or just relaxing and grilling on the dock.
The county boat dock is just down the road for deep water access for larger boats. There are many local seafood shops from small mom and pop operations to large restaurants and fine upscale dinning.
  • A great and calm stay! We appreciate this cozy cottage. Nice view, nice hike, nice Cambridge with good restaurants.

  • We had a fantastic weekend staying at this waterside house! We loved hanging out at the picnic table on the dock. And it was closeby to a local fishing trip charter, and to the restaurants in Cambridge. We wish we could have stayed longer.

  • The location is ideal for birding and boating. The row boat allowed our group of four to paddle at our leisure around the cove enjoying early mornings with the birds and sunsets on the water. The grill let's you take advantage of local produce and seafood. The house is well appointed and made our stay so very enjoyable. There is no WiFi which ontributed to our ability to rest and relax. We hope to return again with friends and family.

  • My family and I had a wonderful time at Joshua’s place. He was very responsive and extremely helpful. Before arriving, I mentioned to Joshua that my dad is excited to experience Maryland crabbing and fishing. Joshua went out of his way by setting up the crab pots before we arrive and letting us borrow fishing poles. Those thoughtful touches were never left unnoticed. Thank you so much!!

  • Fun place to stay with two couples - nice to grill on the dock, kayak, play board games, watch a movie, and enjoy the quiet! House is charming and meets all your needs. The area is what it is - cute brewery (RaR) but not much to see otherwise. And the water is not something you’d swim in so keep that in mind especially during hot spells

    Elise2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • This gorgeous, little waterfront cottage was actually super spacious. The setting is heaven with 180-degree views over the fields and water. The brand new kayaks were awesome to take out for a paddle. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything you need for a big breakfast to a crab feast. His local recommendation of Soft and Salty Crabs was on point - the crab cakes are the best we’d had. Highly recommend for those looking for a low key getaway. Only downside was the few critters that snuck in but that has to be expected.

  • Location, location! this wonderful, immaculate house sits directly on the banks of a river. We enjoyed sitting in the comfortable screened in porch, sipping morning coffee or watching the sunset with cocktails! There is a variety of wildlife (a bald eagle in the tree right outside the house one morning) and peaceful neighbors. Boats come by but there is no noise or disturbance to speak of. Our gracious host supplied us with kayaks that could be launched right from the property and bikes which we rode also directly from the property onto quiet country roads with beautiful farmlands and estuaries to explore. Mary and her house manager Debbie were incredibly responsive and easy to deal with. We received answers to all questions quickly and thoroughly. Checking in was simple with a lockbox on the door. The home is charming, newly furnished with lovely beachy decor. Fresh sheets and ample towels in immaculately clean 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. Our hosts thoughtfully supplied some toiletry items and coffee and cooking oil to get us started. Keep in mind that the house is in a secluded and quiet spot. We drove into Cambridge one night for dinner. This is a 20 min drive back on dark roads with minimal traffic. This is was we were seeking, a comfortable home to gather with friends, cook meals together and enjoy the out doors. Debbie also provides helpful tips for local produce (Emily’s Produce nearby-best strawberries ever, in May) and activities. We are very grateful for the chance to stay in this delightful spot and warm, immaculately kept home. Thank you! Jennifer

  • As a nervous athlete, finding a place to stay for Ironman Maryland was so important. I needed a stove, easy access to the race location, a comfortable bed and no added stress. Midge provided this and so much more. The guest house was so comfortable and with beautiful, relaxing views. The location was quiet, off the beaten path but still easy to get to town with no traffic. She gave great recommendations for local places to eat and visit, and Abby is a delight. I couldn'thave asked for a better place to stay for such a big event! So clean, so cute. Highly recommend!!!

  • At Rosses Chance guest house, you can expect a lovely, private guest home with all the amenities you need for a quiet and relaxing get away. The pool is an added bonus. It’s a little drive to town (12-15 min) but so worth the peace and quiet that the guest house affords. We loved having our coffee in the mornings on the screened porch! The host make you feel at home, so go and renew yourself. We can’t wait to go back!

  • What a wonderful weekend! The cottage, hospitality, amenities, beautiful water view, and local tips provided were much appreciated. Margaret is the best hostess. I look forward to visiting again.

  • Wow! What an amazing place to stay. I stayed with my wife and friend for the half Ironman race in Cambridge and the accommodations couldn’t have been better! The cottage is the perfect little spot to relax after a long drive, before a big race, or for really anything! Midge and John both welcomed us warmly with big smiles when we arrived and showed us around a bit. They allowed us to use their pool to relax which was a huge plus! I’m a night owl and I fell right asleep at 9:30pm which never happens! Just shows how relaxing and peaceful this little cottage in Maryland truly is. I can’t emphasize it enough - if you’re racing for the Ironman full or half in Cambridge, you should DEFINITELY consider staying here. The drive to Marsh park was about 15 minutes with zero traffic. I wouldn’t have changed a thing about our stay!

  • We had a wonderful time staying in Margaret and John's guest house, which is very nicely decorated, quiet and very clean. It had everything we needed for the weekend including a beautiful screened-in porch for morning coffee and evening refreshments. The property is beautifully landscaped and has a gorgeous view of the water and a nice dock to sit and watch sunset. Margaret gave us very helpful suggestions on where to go and wonderful insights into the history of the region. Both John and Margaret were so hospitable and welcoming to us- we really enjoyed meeting them. This was the perfect spot for us to stay for a weekend of cycling throughout the areas. We look forward to coming back!

  • This is a great place and an excellent value! It’s comfy and well thought out. It’s enough to a big waterfront park that it might as well be your back yard. Mary Beth was an outstanding host and we would highly recommend a stay!

Home is located a few blocks from Great Marsh Park where the Eagleman/Ironman races take place. Three bedrooms and 1 and a half baths, washer, dryer, long driveway and large yard. Downtown Cambridge is also close by, and the home is set back from the road so boasts a quiet atmosphere while being close to everything. Whole house will be yours, we will not be there while being rented and guests are welcome to use anything they need while they are there (appliances/shampoo, bed, sofa wifi ect).
The house is located at station 2 for Eagleman/Ironman races so you will be front and center to the contestants. However, entering and exiting the driveway after the race has started can be challenging. But has been done!
This neighborhood is the hot spot for the Eagleman/Ironman. You can run to Great Marsh Park in less than five minutes and downtown Cambridge and restaurants and shops are only a couple of blocks away. This house also has the biggest lot of land in the neighborhood (half an acre) so you are set back from the road and have space from the neighbors! Nice and quiet and only an hour away from Ocean City.
  • We stayed with Amanda for IronMan Maryland 2019 and the location is perfect. Athletes ride past the house once and run past it 4 times, which allowed family to fan right from the driveway. Close enough to ride bikes to and from transition. Amanda had amazing communication with us and we have no complaints at all!

  • Heather and her family were absolutely phenomenal hosts! We couldn't have asked for a better first experience with Airbnb. They made us feel very welcome in their home from the moment we walked in. They were interested in my son's event and gave us tips and advice on places to go. Her children were so adorable and interacted with us and her two dogs were as friendly and playful as can be! They made us feel like part of the family. The bedroom was accurately listed and very spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was large and extremely clean. The entire house was beautiful, big and clean. The neighborhood was very nice and quiet. We will DEFINITELY come back to Heather's house for next year's event and any future event in the Cambridge area. She is a top-notch host! Thank you Heather and family! :)
