Places to stay in Wayne
Peaceful 260 sq ft modern-meets-rustic off-grid retreat on 20 acres with lake access near the Wayne, Maine town line. A five minute walk into the woods will lead guests to a custom tiny house tucked away with the most basic amenities and 'just enough' space to unplug.
*Please note, this house is NOT equipped with electricity, WiFi, or running water (no shower). Guests are expected to bring their own linens or sleeping bags and drinking water, and are required to leave the place as nice (or nicer) than how they find it. (Linens may be provided for an additional charge.) Two Cedar Tiny House can accommodate 4 guests, but is ideal for 1-2. Guests will have access to a small cart or sled to transport materials to the house, which is about a 5 minute walk from the parking area. Backpacks are recommended! House has a full service kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, utensils, dry goods, spices, sink (with drain), and a gas cooktop (no oven). An outdoor propane grill and fire pit are also on site for guest use. A vented propane space heater easily heats the space. We do provide coffee, tea, and hot cocoa. Rechargeable lanterns and phone charging stations are also included for guest use. Books, games, and puzzles are available for entertainment. There is a perimeter trail on the property that leads guests to private lake access for outdoor pursuits. Two kayaks and a pedal boat are provided with life jackets. We will send detailed directions regarding your stay just prior to arrival.
Two Cedar is 1 hour from Portland and 25 minutes to both Augusta and Lewiston/Auburn areas, which provide all major city services as well as dining options and entertainment. The tiny house is just a 10 minute drive to the Wayne General Store, 15 minutes to downtown Winthrop (with pharmacy, post office, grocery, restaurants, and gas), 25 minutes to Nezinscot Farm in Turner, and approximately 2.5 miles to Mt Pisgah walking trails and firetower with a 360 degree view.
  • Highly recommend for anyone who loves the outdoors and just wants to unhook and get away

  • The cutest little cabin tucked away in the woods! So cozy and clean! Very private, but when you need anything they are minutes away! Bring backpacks for easy moving up the trail and into the woods! :)

  • Every single thing about this off grid tiny home experience was fantastic. Will for sure be coming back 10/10 would definitely recommend!

  • Lon's place is truly amazing. I can't recommend this tiny house enough. If you want to have an amazing night, stay here and you won't regret it.

    Shane2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome! We had so much fun chilling near fire and walking around the trail. The tiny house so cozy and nice. The place already has few boardgames to play and some books to read. It’s an awesome place to get away from the city and relax. Thank you so much for delightful experience.

    Calvin2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing tiny home to experience a few nights in. Lon and his team are great hosts who communicate fast. The drive into the area was magical as the first snow had just fallen- out of a novel. The walk up to the home is not bad at all, feels like a tiny adventure hike. Really enjoyed the small touches such as board games and an “emergency” draw in case you forgot toothpaste, face wipes, etc. Very sweet space and glad it is also dog friendly! Our German Shepherd enjoined searching around the surrounding woods. Thank you!

    Maria2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible experience! We loved every moment at Lon’s tiny house. We were looking to get away from the city and slow down for the weekend. This was the perfect place! We played board games, walked the woods (along the clearly marked Loop Trail on the property), took out the paddle boat, and worked on a puzzle. We brought our own meals so we could stay in and relax. The cook stove works great. And spices, pots, pans, and utensils were all ready for us to use. Washing dishes was like camping, if you’re used to that, it’s no biggie at all. November nights are getting colder, but the propane heater worked great! The heat definitely rises to the sleeping loft. It was so warm we ended up turning the heater off/low at night. The mattress is comfortable! We brought our own sheets, pillows, and an extra comforter so we felt right at home (though pillows and a comforter were provided). The outhouse is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen (hahaha, but really!) and not a big deal. It’s a composting toilet with very clear directions. It is super clean and a short walk from the tiny house. A bit cold at night, but part of the charm! Every little detail was perfect in the tiny house. Beautiful esthetically and also thoughtfully practical. All drawers were clearly labeled and thoughtfully stocked. We even built a small campfire and made s’mores. Such a highlight for us!!

A contemporary home of cedar, glass, and stone, THE LEDGES, sits high above the pristine waters of Wilson Pond. Surrounded by forests with myriad bird and wildlife, the B&B offers all the beauty of the Maine woods, yet is minutes from Wayne village.
The Ledges is a perfect getaway place as it sits high on a bluff overlooking a lake and looking toward mountains. Surrounded by forests, there is much birdlife and wildlife for guests to enjoy. At the same time, the home is only a few minutes from the classic New England village of Wayne.
The Ledges is surrounded by forest. There are no immediate neighbors. However, there are nearby hiking, boating and swimming opportunities. The village of Wayne, minutes away, offers great food opportunities, antique shopping, a historically unique library, and churches for worship.

  • What a view! The view of the lake from all of the rooms is amazing. A great and comfortable weekend getaway.

    Chantel2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret’s place is tucked off the beaten path, but is the perfect spot to absorb the vibrant colors of the bluffs that cascade down to the peaceful lake below. We loved having coffee on the porch and enjoying the perfect view. In addition, Margaret goes out of her way to provide local baked goods with coffee or tea. It’s a perfect get-away spot with a delightful host.

  • Margret has a beautiful property that is sure to fit any need you may have. Bring your pups, have some coffee, enjoy the gorgeous view over a continental breakfast, you won’t be sorry!

A small rustic guest cabin on a beautiful lake, simply an unfussy seasonal bed&breakfast surrounded by trees but also right next door to our home and walking distance to a quaint Maine village. (And no hidden fees!)
Lakeside cabin. Two very small rooms; a sitting room and bedroom with a queen sized bed, it has a private bath with a small camp-sized shower. We will leave coffee, fruit and a light breakfast in your room and supply linens and towels. This cabin DOES NOT have a kitchen so cooking and/or grilling is not possible, our amenities include coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge, wireless Internet and a window unit that provides heat, AC, or a fan. There are two lounge chairs available for guest use on the point in front of the main house and two on the beach as well. We have beautiful sunsets. Wayne is located in the heart of the lakes district of Maine (Wayne has seven ponds and lakes itself!) and we are a short distance to the mountains and not that far from the coast, with golf courses and hiking nearby.
We are walking distance to town with its public tennis courts, general store, library, and church. Some of our guests bring bicycles; the roads are quiet and scenic.
  • Very quiet. Since no kitchen nice for a short stay.

    Lynn2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place is incredible. So relaxing next to the lake.

    Adam2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Came from New York to visit family nearby. The lake is beautiful when you walk down to the small sandy beach area. Kris and Pete were wonderful hosts and allowed us to check in a little earlier than check in time.

    Becky2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was perfection! The outdoor areas are what really make it special, as the chairs at the point provide such a neat little spot, and the beach is wonderfully private as it is set back in its own little cove. The lake is clean and was very quiet throughout our stay (no jet skis allowed on this lake!). The cabin itself had plenty of room for all of our stuff, including an entire empty closet, and many shelves in the bathroom. The snacks and coffee were perfect and we especially loved the choco chip cookies. We never heard a peep out of Pete & Kris's home, which is very close to the cabin, and we loved being in the quiet of the woods and lake. We could not have been happier. Thank you!

    Kerry2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice private location. Cabin is very clean and comfortable. Lake is beautiful. Pete and Kris are very nice and very helpful. Great place. Great ice cream close by!

  • Pleasant cabin in nice location and hospitable hosts! We loved our stay.

    Anne2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful cabin exceeded our expectations! Pete and Kris were just wonderful and truly made our stay a once and a lifetime experience. We hope to come back every year.

  • The house was great - right on the lake, comfy beds, nice amount of space and kitchen. The huge window looking at the lake was perfect for breakfast. The neighbors were also friendly. The host was very communicative and made checking in/out and the stay in general very easy.

  • This was a lovely place. Becky is a very responsive host, and the accommodations were as described -- a little better than I expected, actually. The place is simple, but was very clean and Becky provided a bunch of small touches, like some provided food items, that made us feel very welcome. The spot is quite nice as well. Beautiful lake, nice to have boats provided, lots of loons and other wildlife to view. All in all we had a very nice stay.

    Alan2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Becky’s place and it was great! Plenty of space for 4 people, was very clean, right on the water with lots of local recommendations. We had sandwiches from the Wayne general store that were fabulous. Beautiful fire pit to enjoy at night. Easy to find and great location. Everything was as expected once we arrived and Becky was great at getting back to us quickly. Would definitely recommend!

    Sarah2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was a truly amazing stay. As we drove in we knew this was a truly amazing stay. We parked we could see the lake within feet of the cabin. At night we would just stop by the fire as a family and relax. In the morning we would do the same thing just open the door and enjoy the views and sounds. Everything was well above what we were expecting. This is such an amazing experience that we made it a spot we would like to go back to every few years. I highly recommend this stay to anyone who wants to relax, get away, or just unwind.

    Mike2018-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful spot. A great, not too many frills, lake "camp" cabin. Becky is a great host and the availability of amenities is very well thought out. It was so lovely we extended our stay on Androscoggin Lake!

    Michael2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • A unique stay with an abundance of charming touches!

    Mick2018-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, lakefront cabin. Perfect place for a couple to get away. Enjoyed the fire pit every night and dined at the picnic table inside the screen house. Had everything we need & more.

    Jessica2018-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Just returning from camp. We had a great time, the weather was beyond fantastic, and the camp was perfect for 3 adults. Becky was always available for any questions. My only concern was the hill down to the beach, I wish there were stairs, but I do understand that would be a big investment. We hope to return soon! Thanks Becky!

A cozy private cottage on Brettuns Pond where you can relax, swim, fish, and enjoy a getaway. Cottage is located on a dead end road and has over a hundred feet of water frontage right out the front door. Enjoy a campfire or a quiet evening listening to our loons singing at night. Sorry no pets allowed.
    Quiet neighborhood with nearby stores.
  • The view is beautiful and the cottage is a perfect place to relax!

    Elaina2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful and quiet space for a retreat or to catch up with friends. We ice fished and went cross country skiing on the lake. The sun rises and sunsets were superb. We also loved the kitchen, as it was full of every utinsel we could need.

    Jillian2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Matt's place was so cozy and impressive! We spent very little time at the cabin as we spent all Saturday sight seeing by the shore and Sunday left early morning to make the most of the day snowboarding before heading back home. Matt's house was very clean and cozy. I loved the layout. I can't remember how many guests it's listed to host, but I think the beds were a little small to share even with my 7 year old daughter (and I am small myself). I think it's an ideal get away for 1-2 people, probably not for a family or for 3 well-developed adults. But nevertheless, both my children and I loved it!!! The location is also beautiful and secluded. Must be amazing in the summer!! I would definitely recommend Matt's place and I would love to come again just to experience the lake in the summer!! Thank you so much Matt for your hospitality!!

    Irene2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew's cottage is fabulous. This was my second stay. It is peaceful, super clean, extremely well appointed and furnished. The view is unbeatable. I'll be back again in May! Can't wait. I highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing and beautiful getaway.

    Kathleen2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is beautiful and in a beautiful location- right on the lakeside. The bedding was so comfortable and cozy and everything was very clean. I hope to come back sometime!

    Marie2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Has everything you need plus more. Very detailed and an amazing place.

  • Matt and Christine's Cottage is truly a gem! It is beautifully appointed, cozy, super clean, peaceful and lovely in every respect. The view is outstanding and the perfect winter quiet was exactly what I needed. Great gas fireplace, very comfy beds, jetted bathtub....what more could one want? Matt and Christine are so responsive, too. I highly recommend this cottage! You will love it. I can't wait to go back and will be doing that next month.

    Kathleen2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing stay+ experience, blown away by the beautiful scenery by the lake, sunset and sunrise are astonishing, the cottage is very clean and cozy, fireplace was a perfect touch, and Matthew is very hospitable, we were met with snow on our second day and his son shoveled our driveway. Can’t say enough about this cottage.

This 1-2 person cabin is cozy, simple, and quiet, which makes it a perfect place to getaway and enjoy one of Maine's most incredible lakes! It can hold more guests if you provide your own air mattress and/or tent. Use of kayaks, paddle boards, fire pit, gas grill, and dock slip for your own boat included.
Our cabin has everything you need for the perfect getaway, whether that be two nights or two weeks. We provide you with linens, a stocked kitchen (cookware, utensils, plates, bowls, glasses, etc), a full size refrigerator, microwave, electric convection hot plate, a coffee maker (coffee K cups & tea included), wifi, smart Tv, propane grill, fire pit (with wood provided), and more! We also have kayaks and paddle boards available for use FREE of charge! We want our space to be a place where you can get away, feel at home, and be worry free so you can truly relax while you're staying with us.
Our cabin is located on a small peninsula of a very beautiful Maine Lake (Cobbosseecontee). The road is an association in which most of the cabins are occupied by the owners and their families, which keep things relatively quiet. Our property has a shallow waterfront area for swimming and a dock to tie a boat up to. The sounds of the loons singing on the lake at night will be a peaceful moment you will never forget! (Currently however, the property behind ours was purchased and a home is being built. This means there will be construction during the work week until the home is complete).
  • This place is quaint and very minimalist. It truly was the perfect spot for me and my boyfriends weekend get away. The lake is beautiful and we are hoping to come back in the warmer months to really enjoy the water. I’d recommend it for any couple who loves the great outdoors and doesn’t mind maine cabin living!

    Caroline2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed here for a weekend for our honeymoon and everything was absolutely perfect. We enjoyed thoughtful touches like maine-made local products and wine. The location of the cabin is beautiful and would love to come back during the summertime when we could enjoy the amenities of the lake a little more.

    Faith2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at the cosy cabin, and it was absolutely that. We stayed late September into early October, and it was chilly at night, but warmed up in the mornings once we turned the small heater on. It's amazing how quiet the place was - even in spite of the building work happening behind it. We made use of the kayaks and were surprised by the fact we had the lake to ourselves, and it that the water had retained some of the summer warmth in the shallower parts! We made use of the convection hob, microwave and BBQ and all worked perfectly. There was firewood if we'd wanted to have a bonfire, but the beautiful Maine thunder storm took hold of the night, so we didn't end up using it. The cabin is a wonderful getaway for two people, we felt so lucky to be staying there!

    Sian2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful place to stay. Highly redommend.

    Jesse2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet and peaceful. Build a campfire at night and listen to the loons in the morning.

    Steve2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • This quaint cabin is the best we've spent time in for a while. It's calm and quiet, away from town. The amenities we're amazing. Between the kayaks, and paddleboards, to the firepit with wood avaliable. I would definitely return next time we head out to Maine.

    Kim And Tyler2019-09-22T00:00:00Z

This is a 2nd story apartment above our garage with a small but fully equipped kitchen, full size refrigerator, microwave, electric stove/oven, double sink (no dishwasher), a plentiful supply of dishes, tableware, cookware, new queen bed, bathroom with shower, hair dryer, bathroom necessities, living area with couch/queen size futon, Smart TV with Apple TV, Fubo TV, wifi, iron & ironing board.
The apartment is above the garage of our 150 year-old re-furbished home. The outdoor space consists of ample parking, flower gardens, a large screened porch off the back of house leading to a large deck and adjacent to a 21’ diameter above-ground pool. The apartment has a private entrance.
A major advantage for our guests is our location. We are within walking distance to many amenities and services, such as banks, churches, eating establishments, gas, groceries, recreation, hair salons, gift shop, library, and, of course, the lake. The local high school grounds offer trails for walking both summer and winter.
  • Janes apartment was much more spacious than I expected. It was an amazing value for a weekend getaway or an easy drive into Augusta. The temp was set at 68 and it’s perfect for us, we prefer a cooler sleeping temperature. Everything you need for preparing a quick meal and there were English muffins for us and half and half for our coffee. My only negative is that the train came thru at 3:30 am and it blows its horn a couple of times. Get up and Pee....If you have no problem getting back to sleep - this is a great place to stay! Our bed was very comfy with plenty of blankets -on the firm side. Jane made sure to meet us before departing in the morning. I appreciated the maple syrup bottle and the beautiful daffodils that greeted us on arrival.

If you are interested in rustic camping but are done with sleeping in a tent, and want to experience Maine on the cheap, this electrified space has housed many a guest over the years. It is an unfinished but cozy 1.5 story loft over a garage. There is no running water and it is NOT suitable for small children due to ladder access to sleeping loft and high deck. There is a camp toilet which is the responsibility of the guest to empty and rinse daily if used. Wifi inside or yard depending.
This space is not for the faint of heart, the ladder is steep and not safe for someone over 200 pounds. There is a small cot and couch on main floor if needed. There is a hotplate, microwave, toaster oven, 2 cup coffee maker, radio, ceiling fan, queen sized mattress and boxspring, and plenty of outlets. A handyperson could get a long term deal on this property if they were willing to put in finishing work. Water is available at the hose. This space is only available during the summer and early fall due to lack of heat and insulation. The whole property is full of paths and is situated on 5 acres of land.
This is a quiet neighborhood on a state route. Backroads lead to the mountains, main roads lead to the coast. We are 1 mile from the public beach. There are biking trails and Mt. Pisgah is a short ride away.
  • This place is super bad ass love it second stay for me

  • For the free-spirited, money conscious traveler! Perhaps one of the most memorable and fun places I’ve stayed. Certainly not for the faint of heart... but if it looks intriguing, go for it and be ready for a memory that’ll last a lifetime. LOVED staying here.

  • It is what it is, much better than camping but not glamping as described! Definitely good fun, thanks for having me Elizabeth.

    Philip2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth’s place was a great if you’re looking to stay at a place that’s between camping and glamping. When walking in, the radio was playing and the musical instruments were a very nice touch! The bed that’s up on the loft is comfortable, and I slept well. I didn’t use the appliance though. Elizabeth was really friendly and even offered fresh peaches. Thanks!

FIVE REASONS TO VISIT HALLOWELL, MAINE https://www.boston.com/culture/new-england-travel/2014/08/18/5-reasons-to-visit-hallowell-maine
Hallowell is a small coastal community on a tidal river and estuary. The house is within two blocks of downtown in a quiet residential neighborhood. No steep hills to climb. Many walking and bicycle trails nearby. Vaughn Brook and trails is a short walk up Second Street. The carriage trails are known as "hobbitland," characterized by granite bridges, cascading waterfalls and gurgling brooks. There are also trails around Jamie Pond and the Hallowell Recreation Area where the town beach is located off the town farm road.
  • Wonderful place

  • I’m not sure words do justice to how nice this location is. I selected it due to its perfect location (the perfect spot for the night before Acadia), and its amazing price. When arriving, I was relieved at the ease of check in and condition of the house, absolutely immaculate. The room had every single thing we needed and more, including bathrobes! The bed was comfortable and the view from the porch was incredible. We are already planning our way back north again, however plan on staying in Hallowell for the entire stay for we never even got to try out kayaking and bike riding in the area, or to explore all of the small shops that it has to offer! Thank you so much for everything, we will be back soon!

  • Secure, cozy room in a tidy old house in a town I’ve never heard of. Sounded great and it was indeed great. Try it out

  • The room had anything you might imagine needing. Andrea was quick to respond to questions as well!

    Michael2019-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea's place is lovely! I stayed there as a quick layover on a trip en route to Canada, and it was just what I needed. I'd love to return in the future for a longer stay. Andrea's kindness and hospitality are noteworthy!

    Kerry2019-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • My bed was so comfortable! I arrived late and left early, so I didn’t actually get to meet Andrea. But I felt so welcomed by the extra touches that went above and beyond what I expected...the water filter, coffee, chocolate and so much more! Thanks again Andrea!

    Mary2019-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time, the accommodations were excellently maintained and made our trip perfect.

    Alexander2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea’s place is TOP NOTCH!! Beautiful home, great location, amazing amenities. Cleanliness is a big deal for me so I was a little worried but from the moment I walked through the door I had to take off my shoes (just like home!) my room was spotless and Andrea was cleaning the common areas ALL the time. She was super friendly, full of recommendations but also was very respectful of personal space and my need for alone time. I could write an entire page of how lovely this home and Andrea were, I definitely will be returning!!

The third floor was used as a dormitory possibly for freedom seekers. It is a post and beam house where all of the beams have been exposed. The house is designed for long term accommodations. There is a lot to do in Hallowell. We have a live theater, live music, many different restaurants and shops. Vaughn Woods is nearby with walking trails. • Andrea was great with communication. He made sure I reach his place without any hiccups.

  • Andrea has great attention to detail and goes out of the way to make sure that you have everything you need. The amount of amenities provided coupled with the low cost create substantial value. I will go out of my way to stay here again if available in the future.

  • Room E is cozy, but has everything you need for an easy overnight. TV, Desk, Comfortable armchair and bed, you feel like you're getting a lot out of this private space than just a bed. Also, Andrea left thoughtful touches like a chocolate by the bed and a glass of wine for me.

This is a comfortable guest suite with private bedroom and bathroom in host's home in a friendly neighborhood on the west side of Pocasset Lake. The property is located on a picturesque point at the end of a private road with great sunrise and sunset views. Guests have use of a canoe, a kayak and paddle board, or may bring their own. Wayne village is a one-mile walk, bike ride or paddle away. There are 8 miles of mountain bike and hiking trails directly accessible from the property.
Guests will find a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, supply of tea and coffee, hair dryer, iron and ironing board in the space.
The village features antique shops, pottery shops, general store with baked goods and takeout, an art gallery, Saturday morning Farmer's Market, local strawberry picking, and homemade ice cream at Tubby's on the mill pond. There are nearby land trust properties open for hiking, including Mt. Pisgah, where panoramic views of the area are possible from a preserved fire tower. Guests can canoe or kayak to the village and pull their water crafts up behind the general store. Pocasset Lake connects by a picturesque stream to Pickerel pond, the inlet of which is navigable all the way to the North Wayne dam. Fish and wildlife are abundant along this water course. There are 8 miles of woodland biking trails within a 5 minute bike ride from my home. All of the previously mentioned places have beautiful fall foliage from mid September through mid October. The White Mountains are about an hour west of here where there are many gorgeous fall hikes and road trips to be enjoyed.
  • This is truly a hidden gem! Sherry's property is absolutely beautiful from her beautiful gardens to the stunning views of the lake. Sherry provided us with everything we needed and more (fresh blueberry muffins!). The suite has it's own fire pit and chairs facing the lake. We were able to use the grill as well. We went for a canoe ride on the lake with the canoes that were provided. Sherry is extremely friendly and made us feel at home while still giving us privacy. This is the perfect getaway from the city and we will definitely be back again. Highly recommend!

  • Never having ventured to Wayne Maine, we had no idea of how quaint and a nice little town it was. Then we entered Sherry’s property and were surrounded by beautiful gardens, fantastic lake views and the wonderful sounds of the loons. Sherry provided everything that we could need for our two nightstay. Extremely clean and a very comfortable bed. Sherry had great notes on dining to hiking and had many special touches throughout. Can not wait to stay here again! Jeff and Donna South Portland , Maine

  • Sherry’s place is amazing... you get a lot for your money here. 5 star view on a Great Lake ( its on a small point, so you see water on 3 sides) with access to kayaks and canoes. Your own fire pit with Adirondack chairs, oh and the swing set is awesome. The bathroom is huge. You can’t really tell by the pics but it’s a full size tub/shower combo. You get access to the washer dryer right in the bathroom which is super convenient. The bed was super comfortable :) the suite is very bright with great windows and views. It’s a great balance of privacy and access to your host here. Sherry assembled a lovely book with local hikes, other activities and restaurants.

    Jessica2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful waterfront property with many amenities. A garden to sit in for meditation, an outdoor fireplace for evening enjoyment, lots of options for paddling, and delicious blueberry muffins in the morning. Wayne is a very quiet town which is what we were looking for. Options for dining are limited so expect to drive 15- 30 minutes for a full menu restaurant. Sherry is a warm and gracious host who appreciates her land and enjoys sharing what Maine has to offer with her guests. Highly recommended.

    Sherry2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We weren't sure we would like sharing a home with the host, even though it was a separate (basement) section. Normally, we rent full homes, or detached apartments. In this case, though, we were so very glad we did. The studio basement apartment is perfectly suited to the rustic area and atmosphere. It was cozy, clean, and spacious with a lot of small details that made it so inviting. Often, at Air Bnbs, we have to buy our own coffee, sugar, tea, etc., but Sherry had all of that. In addition, she shared some delicious scones with us that she made fresh one morning! The bed and pillows were comfortable, it was extremely quiet, and she carefully judged our mood for privacy. She had canoes, kayaks, and a paddleboard that she shared with us, as well as an outdoor fire pit and chiminea. In addition, she is just a lovely person who is interesting and fun to be around. Would highly recommend this place.

  • Without a doubt one of the Best places me and my fiancé have ever stayed during our time in Wayne Maine! Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by Sherry mediately making us feel at home. Sherry is extremely friendly, and has put a lot of heart and love into the guest house and home area we stayed in. We had two great evening is here, which obviously also added up to the experience. Sherry’s home is a hidden paradise of comfort and relaxation. The Lakeview is gorgeous, and accompanied by a beautiful garden and fire pit for use. Everything about this place is picture perfect, so much so we found ourselves staying in house rather than venturing out. Will definitely be staying here again!!

    Marvin2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sherry's place is wonderful and she was an excellent host, offering local tips and tourist recommendations, and a few unexpected extras that were really special. The space and the waterfront were superb. Everything needed is available, but eating in beyond the basics is not simple - so go out; there's plenty of options. We walked to the store one day. Taking a canoe is possible and I wish we had done that too. Plenty of wildlife, sky, fresh air, pine trees, and lake views. Highly recommended!

    Tom2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sherry’s place is a dream! Even better than I could have imagined! The pictures don’t do it justice. Absolutely gorgeous grounds and lake access. The guest suite was spacious and very comfortable. Even though it’s technically basement level, it didn’t feel like it. We could hear people walking above us on occasion but it wasn’t bothersome. The room has a beautiful view of the water and the bathroom was nice and big. We loved swimming in the lake just outside our door, and the use of the swings, boats, and floats was a nice bonus. Sherry went above and beyond to make us feel at home while giving us plenty of privacy. We loved walking to the general store for a delicious breakfast. Go to Wayne! Stay here! You wont regret it.

Antique cape farmhouse 2'nd floor bedroom with full size bed. Short walk to the Barn at Silver Oaks down the street. There is a photo, but because people don't look, there are 4 cats! Located on 5 acres of land, 1 mi from downtown, public beach on Maranacook Lake and Norcross Point (free concerts held every Sunday July-August) 10 miles from Augusta, 1 hour drive to Reid State Park on Atlantic Ocean. Free range chickens and geese. Abundance of wildlife. Maine living.
For now this is just a bedroom available, but by next fall I am hoping to have the entire 2'nd floor available for air BnB. This is a NON SMOKING apartment. Cigarette smoking must be done at least 50 feet from entrance of home, and filters put in designated containers due to free range chickens. There are cats and a dog on the property, so if you have allergies probably not a good fit. However, there are no inlaid carpets; pine floors abound. Clean and mellow owner on site and shares apartment with guest during stay. Cooking facilities and all cooking items available. There is a public laundromat about 1.5 miles from home.
My neighborhood is located on a state route, but it is a quiet neighborhood and most of us keep to ourselves. I have 5 private acres that have paths to walk and gardens to enjoy, as well as wild edibles for your enjoyment. Lots of wild birds, including turkeys, as well.
  • Wonderful place to stay!

  • We can’t say enough great things about Wendy’s place- from the beautiful views of the lake to the quiet and peaceful surroundings, you won’t be sorry if you decide to stay here! We have never been so relaxed and enjoyed our escape from the city sitting on the deck with our morning coffee, dipping our feet in the lake and grilling dinner and eating outside on the patio. The fresh baked scones on the first morning there were an added bonus- Wendy is very responsive to all of your needs and her home is sparkling clean. Hope to stay again next summer!

  • We were looking for a relaxing, quiet place to spend the week with our toddler, and that is exactly what we got. We loved the private beach, kayaks, grill, porch, deck, and the quick walk to a playground and local brewery. Winthrop isn’t a really touristy place, but that’s what we liked!

    Melissa2019-07-12T00:00:00Z

  • Wendy's home is absolutely beautiful! It has a lovely, bright, cheerful vibe with not only direct access to a pristine lake, but views from every window. We love how the space is decorated, from the sunny yellow four poster bed to the breakfast nook to the airy, bright furnished sun room. And, the delicious, hot, homemade blueberry lemon scones were such a welcome treat. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

    Dana2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy's place is gorgeous and she is a great host. Stop looking and book this, you will be glad!

    Brad2018-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy's house is magnificent. It is right on the beach of a beautiful lake; within steps of the front door of the apartment. It is only a few minutes from the charming town of Winthrop. Wendy has furnished this beautiful apartment with great care and taste, even to the Ralph Lauren pillows. It is quiet and restful, yet has all of the accutrements one would expect being on the lake. Book this fabulous home early, as I am sure it goes very rapidly each season. Oh, yes, and the blueberry scones she leaves at your door the first morning are without equal ANYWHERE in the world!

  • Wow !!! This was a fantastic family weekend getaway spot ! When we arrived it was incredibly easy to check in and the house was even better than expected. There was extra little touches that made my family feel right at home. The kitchen had plenty of extra amenities , for example a coffee pot & coffee was so extremely nice to have when we woke up the next morning! The pictures do not do justice to this wonderful lake front home! The views are spectacular and you can’t get much closer to the water than this !!! The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of blankets & pillows. There was ample information left for us about local restaurants and area places to visit. I was very impressed with my entire stay and would highly recommend staying at the property to anyone. My family will definitely be returning to stay again in the future!

  • Very cozy cabin! Thankful we got use to this place for ice fishing this weekend. Dan was super responsive and left us breakfast for the morning. Would use again for sure. Will consider using again in the future for sure!

  • This home was quaint, private, comfortable, and perfect for a small family. Dan made us feel welcome by decorating with a bouquet of flowers and bagels and cream cheese in the fridge. He was readily available when needed, and very personable. We couldn’t have chosen a better host and home to live in temporarily. With Dan lending us his home, it allowed us to find our forever home, and buy us time. I couldn’t thank him enough for allowing us to stay there, and offering a safe and comfortable home. While we did not get to go ice fishing, we did get to view the lake turn to a deep freeze, and see families pile on the lake to fish. The sounds the lake makes as it turns to ice is amazing. Something I’ve never heard before: The experience is something to remember. Thanks again for everything!

This teeny, quaint hut is only small on the inside, as you will likely spend most of your time out-of-doors on our 50 acre site soaking up all it has to offer. Read and snooze in the hammock, meditate and ponder as you look across fields, woods and the lake. Watch your bonfire crackle and snap as you unwind, listening to loons, owls and peepers. Many guests find plenty to do right here and never leave until they check out. The hut comes with a few stories, so don't hesitate to ask about 'em!
**PLEASE READ IN ITS ENTIRETY** This site has numerous limitations that can be easily overcome with your detailed planning. Hundreds of guests have found this spot to be simple and simply amazing. Daylight arrival is optimal for all sorts of obvious reasons. Situated in woods and gardens, you will be greeted by early morning light as you awake. No electricity, no running water or traditional showers (potable water is available elsewhere on the property), no kitchen and no real bathroom (a self-serve Reliance portable alternative loo is in the hut and access to a half bath in our lodge is a one minute stroll across the field), no internet and no wifi (unless you sit in my driveway). There is a fabulous, new self-serve solar shower island that brings a smile to many. Your shower will be ready for use upon your arrival. Refilling the shower bag is yours to do. Parking is a one minute walk from this abode, and we provide a cart to help you get your gear to the area. We abide by the Leave No Trace philosophy....if you're not sure, just ask!.
Turner is filled with apple orchards, family farms and small businesses focusing on organic agriculture. Immediately adjacent to our property you will find Turner Highlands golf course and restaurant, with other shops, grocery stores and local things to do just up or down the road apiece. Androscoggin Riverlands State Park is a 5 minute drive from here. A variety of disc golf courses, trails and a myriad of adventures await. Rural but close to Lewiston, Auburn, Augusta, Freeport and Portland.
  • A very quite and peaceful place to stay, hearing rain drops hit the roof, acorns falling and watching the turkeys. The perfect get away. The owner is very nice and helpful, she recommended many places to eat.

  • This little cottage was better than advertised. It’s a comfy alternative to camping, and is in the context of a larger camp. It was incredibly peaceful and private. Don’t miss the lake!

Welcome to our cozy cottage. We bought this sweet little camp in February and have been working tirelessly to fix it up so it can be enjoyed this summer and fall. This is a great place to kick back, relax and unplug. Have a morning coffee on the enclosed patio, a bbq on the deck, or a beer out by the fire pit. Cool off by going for a swim in the lake. At night settle back inside to play a board game or watch a movie. There is no wifi at camp making it the ultimate place to unwind.
The space is all yours. Because there is no wifi, we’ve tried to equip it with everything you may need to make your trip memorable and relaxing. The camp is nestled up on a small hill just across the street from Androscoggin Lake. You will have Right of Way access to hop into the lake or take your kayak or canoe out to explore the islands. Inside the camp you will find board games, cds, puzzles, kids activities and books for your entertainment. There is an enclosed porch which is perfect for watching the occasional thunder and lightening storm over the lake, or for having your morning coffee. A deck right off the porch houses a grill and plenty of seating for summer afternoon BBQ’s and a fire pit down below is a great place to roast marshmallows and watch fireflies at night. The two queen sized beds are brand new and will provide a restful night sleep after a full day of activities. This is a great place to make memories you and your family or friends will remember forever.
We are minutes from beautiful Wayne, Maine which has a general store, ice cream shop, and other speciality shops.
  • Amazing spot, better than expected. Lake is beautiful as is the region, with plenty of pretty drives and small towns to see. Super comfortable beds, hot shower, stocked kitchen and a very easy, super convenient check in. We had a romantic stay and loved using the grill, great fire pit, and swimming. Water shoes or sandals recommended for the lake. Great deck, too. It was a very fun restorative weekend away.

  • We stayed here for a relative's wedding that was nearby. This was a beautiful area of Maine and everyone was very friendly. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay hear again.

    Ryan2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely weekend away at the cottage! All the amenities are exactly as described. Yes, this includes none (or very limited) digital connection to the outside world. Believe me, this is a plus! Everyone could use a little less internet connectivity sometimes. There's plenty to do - the private beach is a short walk or drive away and kayaking on the lake is fantastic. Bring books and board games or use the ones at the cottage. And get some ice cream at Tubby's. No matter what you do you'll leave refreshed. We'd happily stay again!

  • This is a fantastic getaway. Jason and Trish were super and responsive hosts, and we loved their home and location. We can’t wait to come back!

  • Charming home, cozy room with wonderful heater. Very close to coastal hotspots and easy access to I 95 . Sylvia is arguably the most charming host and makes a breakfast that is worthy of visiting for its own sake. Strongly recommend.

    Paul2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a remarkable airbnb-- outstanding for its service, especially for the economical price. It is a small room in a small house, so you need to be comfortable with the comings and goings of the small family and the two big friendly dogs...or if you wish to spend a lot of alone time in your cozy room with heater, Sylvia will respect that as well. The really outstanding part of it is your hostess sylvia, who is more sensitive and attentive to the needs of her guests than practically any airbnb hostess I've seen. She is a native French canadian, speaks fluent french and italian and english,

  • Sylvia's place is tucked in among the trees in the countryside just north of Augusta. Thank you Sylvia for being a very welcoming host.

  • Sylvia is a fantastic hostess! Her home was beautiful and clean, and her hospitality was outstanding. The breakfasts she made us were great. I would definitely stay with her again.

  • Sylvia is a very nice host. We had some funny talks and shared our travelling experiences. The room is spacious and homey. The heater is pretty strong and hot. The only thing is the address that means you need to focus on the road and carefully see the intersection. Very easy to drive over the place. Anyway, five stars. Highly recommend!

  • It was so comfortable for the two of us. Had its cute oddities that made it interesting and enjoyable. The Hosts were amazing and did not seem to be bothered when we bothered them. Had information for the area and offered info as they found out our interests. The internet service was very good and not slow. Very clean. Had all the utensils needed for cooking on the stove or out on the grill. I would definitely go back.

  • GREAT HOUSE!

    Vincent2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our group of 16 stayed here for a 2.5 day work retreat and it was a wonderful experience! The house was clean and had everything we needed, including plenty of space for everyone. The setting is incredible and we loved getting to spend time out on the lake in the kayaks, canoes and paddle boards. The host was really accommodating and helpful and we can't recommend this place enough. Would love to come back!

    Doug2019-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • We rented Ryans place for a surprise 40th anniversary party for my parents, where there would be about 30 people staying the night (18 adults, 12 kids) and it was perfect. Just enough room so that we could all hang out and have fun, but enough space where we could spread out as well. The two fully stocked kitchens were so convenient for all the cooking and party prep we did. The beds are comfortable and so spacious! Ryan was such a good host, very communicative and accommodating. My family have already decided to do this again next year!

  • If you have a group of 15 or more people, and you've landed on this property, stop searching. You've officially found the best listing on Airbnb for large groups looking for a relaxing escape. Set on a beautiful lake with every amenity you could possibly think of, Ryan's house can keep any group from 10-25 people entertained for a weekend or even multiple weeks. As isolated as the house is, the only reason to leave is to drive 5 minutes to a local grocery store (or to any of the local recommended hikes/restaurants Ryan provides). Otherwise, there are enough activities to occupy kids and adults, while providing enough space for everyone to have their alone time if they so choose. The massive property means that we were never bored, and made use of every aspect. We played basketball, took out the kayaks/paddleboards, took the boat out multiple times, ate on the deck, grilled, played in the game room, hiked around the area, and relaxed throughout the house. Renting the pontoon boat is not a necessity, but it was a perfect activity to get off of the immediate property and enjoy the gorgeous water and sunset on the lake. If you like being on the water, I'd recommend it. We had a small issue with the boat battery, and Ryan had someone there within 20 minutes to fix it. The rooms are clean, the house is stocked, and the amenities are through the roof - it's obvious that Ryan has thought of everything! So, as I said before - I've spent hours searching on Airbnb for big houses like this one, and you won't find one better.

    Ben2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan's home was great for our large party of friends. There was a ton of space to hang out / play yard games. We loved the pontoon boat and paddle boards as well. If you are looking for a secluded get away with a large group this option is perfect. Ryan was very helpful and responsive in getting us checked in and making sure we had a great stay.

It is completely green, off the grid, remote, yet in the heart of the Belgrade Lakes. Awesome affordable rustic romantic getaway!
Seven large interconnected freshwater lakes, Belgrade Lakes Village, restaurants, etc

  • Perfect hidden cozy place to get away from the nouse

    Dale2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • We loved every moment of our stay! I don't think I have ever been more relaxed. You'll be surrounded by trees and water and wont see a soul while you're there. The nightly train, the acorns dropping, the call of the loons, the hissing & popping of the wood stove and fire pit are some of the coziest sounds ever. The propane camp stove worked like a champ. We brought it outside on the deck railing for some outdoor cooking. The water access is very private so we ended up skinny dipping. We did yoga on the deck, bush whacked through the woods, explored the train tracks and just breathed in the clean open air. We drove a Chevy Volt and were just fine on the road. We went 5mph and carefully maneuvered the car over the roots. This is a tranquil spot to relax and expand into nature if that is your cup of tea. It was definitely ours.

    Jenna2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second visit to John's cabin and it was even better than what I remembered from my first! I arrived a bit later than anticipated and ran out of sunlight before finding the road in, John was super quick to respond to ensure all was well when I reached out to him. The driving trail had a few sticky spots and ground clearance would have been helpful, but I just took it easy in my car and didn't have any issues. Everything is exactly as listed and described (minus the gas grill in the pics— bring charcoal!) so there shouldn't be any surprises. I would agree with the suggestion of bringing whatever you think you'll want and need as if on a camping trip and you should be golden. Pro Tip: A strand of battery-powered LED lights adds a lovely ambiance when it gets dark. Or just let the stars do the work! :) I find John's place to be a great balance of quiet and secluded while still having the convenience of anything you may need within a close driving distance if necessary. I would highly recommend it if you're looking to comfortably step back from civilization for a bit and spend some time in nature.

    Jodi2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • UNBELIEVABLE stay at this beautiful cabin. My boyfriend and I got a nice little getaway to unwind and relax. He was skeptical with the no electric or actual bathroom but that ended up being our favorite part. You're really forced to switch up your daily routine. The road to the cabin comes up quick so you really need to keep your eyes open but when you find it you’ll know. Will 100% be back. Enjoy your stay!

    Devin2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! I’m not sure how people could find anything to complain about. If you’re careful driving down the dirt road, you’ll arrive at an awesome little cabin overlooking the water. Great fire pit and deck to relax on. 5 stars!

  • Alex's camp is a terrific family stay for the budget minded traveler! Spectacular views of Lake Annabessacook, especially during the Fall foliage change during our stay. Just a short drive of Rt. 202 and only 5 minutes form the center of downtown Winthrop. Alex has thoughtfully provided a great selection of family games and movies for cozy evenings that we truly enjoyed. Simple, clean and inviting with a recently renovated kitchen and living space. We had all we needed to prepare a family dinner of lobsters and burgers and enjoyed them on the picnic table off the deck. A lake side fire pit and chairs made for two great evenings of sitting by the lake and making s'mores! We were only there for 3 nights but made great family memories and we would definitely come back and recommend to other guests. Thank you, Alex!

  • A wonderful place, easy to find off the interstate in a beautiful quiet setting. The suite was large and inviting and immaculately clean. Kathy has thought of everything to make your stay so completely comfortable that you will find yourself judging future accommodations by the standard she sets.

  • Shirley is a fantastic host and this was a great place to stay. The loft was very spacious and somewhat secluded from the rest of the B and B. It was sparkling clean. Shirley and Dave were both super nice and Shirley cooked us a great breakfast. I would highly recommend renting this space.

    Aaron2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic suit of rooms which are spotlessly clean. 5 stars are not enough! It has a balcony which must be fantastic to sit on in warmer times than we were there. It was great talking to Shirley and Dave and the other guests during breakfast, something we aren't used to but they made us feel right at home. One of the best places we've stayed at. We would recommend it highly.

  • Shirley and Dave were great hosts, very friendly and nice. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. Also very easy access to the main highways and very close to town if you need anything. I highly recommend “the loft”, it has private access so you can come and go as you please. We had a great stay

    Alexandra2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Paradise in the countryside! I had 3 wonderful and quiet nights at Shirley and David’s place in June, very helpful and welcoming people, nice deck with sunlight and view on the meadows to relax at the end of the day, quiet place, great sleep, thoughtful organization, everything I expect from a studio apartment was there, big thumb up!

    Nathalie2019-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Shirley’s home was very nice and quiet. She was a very welcoming host.

    Rebecca2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Shirley and Dave are great hosts. They are friendly and outgoing. The loft where we stayed was spacious and clean wit a private deck overlooking their beautiful rural property. They are close enough to Augusta for convenience, but far enough out for rural solitude. We hope fate allows us to return.

    James2019-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Shirley and Dave at The Roost are exceptional hosts! They let us check in early as we had a wedding to go to, the Loft apartment where we stayed was immaculately clean and the space had all the necessities in it. They went above and beyond by providing us with directions to our venue location and even made us breakfast in the morning! I would highly recommend staying with Shirley and Dave anytime you are in the area. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

Andrea's place is equipped with everything you could possibly want and more! She really goes above and beyond for her guests. We had the pleasure of running into her during our stay and she was incredibly sweet. We made sure to let her know we'll be staying with her again whenever we're in town.

  • This was my first stay in Maine and it exceeded my expectations! The rooms are very cute and cozy. Across the street is a beautiful historic church and it's also walking distance to the downtown district and the Kennebec River. Great food options in downtown Hallowell and the little tavern stays open pretty late so you have have a drink and listen to the band at night. Perfect place for a solo traveler!

  • Perfect stop to stay overnight between Maryland and Prince Edward Island. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer to enjoy everything offered. The house was more than clean and very quaint yet modern with a large and inviting kitchen. Shared bathroom worked out well and we had lots of privacy but other guests were kind when we encountered them. Host was helpful too about local spots. A great spot off of the highway!

The furnished front screen porch overlooks the beach. Shared boat dock.
Canada Goose Cottage is one of nine privately owned, lakefront cottages on Androscoggin Lake. The 970sq.ft. cottage was completely renovated in the spring of 2017. The bedroom and loft were whitewashed and the kitchen cupboards received paint and new countertops. A second bathroom was added with a full sized tub/shower and vanity sink. The furnished screen porch overlooks the water. Handpicked furnishings, fittings, and fixtures keep a traditional lakeside Maine cottage feel. The spirit of a family owned camp is evident in the knotty pine, buffalo plaid, soft lighting, and touches of cranberry red. Centrally located between Lewiston/Auburn and Augusta, Canada Goose Cottage is also only an hour from the coast and from Portland.
Canada Goose Cottage is located in a picturesque, rural Maine setting surrounded by mountains, farms, and waterways. You can hike, kayak, or just peacefully chill on the beach. However, if you can tear yourself away from the lake, the twin cities of Lewiston/Auburn are to the west and the capital city of Augusta is to the east with museums, restaurants, and shopping. The ocean and seaport towns are less than an hour drive. Something for everyone!

Being at the heart of Maine the possibilities are endless.
  • Our stay in Livermore was lovely. Denis and Brenda provided a nice room, clean and spacious, with closet and drawers (a few drawers were not empty, but there was room for our modest stuff) and access to a basement TV/game room, sunroom with breakfast table, kitchen, and their huge yard sloping down to a beautiful pond. (We didn't use the kayak or float, but it looked like fun!) Plenty of food choices for cook-your-own breakfast. Our own drawer in the main kitchen refrigerator and our own small refrigerator in the basement. No grocery stores in the immediate area, and Denis made sure we knew this before we arrived. The surrounding area is nice for walking. Denis and Brenda were knowledgeable about the area and the neighbors, quick to respond to pre-trip correspondence, happy to answer our questions and chat about anything we found in common.

  • We stayed at Denis and Brenda's place while in Livermore for a wedding and could not have been more pleased with our stay! The space is quiet, private, and immaculately clean in a perfect setting by a lake. We felt immediately at home with a very comfy bed, our own AC unit, and spacious bathroom. There is also a nice rec room in the basement for guests to relax and watch TV. Denis and Brenda were friendly and caring hosts, turning the lights on outside for us when we came back late at night and providing a lovely spread for breakfast each morning. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

    Shayna2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • A stay at Denis place was a real treat. The house is located right by the lake providing it with a beautiful view as well as the perfect spot for a refreshing morning swim. The hospitality was phenomenal with Denis always going the extra length for us. He even called the pawn shop a few towns over to see if they had a used guitar for us. Highly recommend!

    Alexander2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Denis and Brenda were great hosts. They accommodated my late check-in and had everything in order when I got there. They also made sure I had enough to eat the next day even though I intended to leave very early. And what can I say about Brenda's banana bread- it was out of this world. I could not have started my day better.

    Kiran2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Maine primarily because of the hospitality and friendliness of Brenda and Dennis which was way beyond our expectations. The accommodations were comfortable and private. We did not have to go far for recreation since the house was located on a pond where we could canoe, fish and swim and even listen to the loons. They even invited us to pick some of their raspberries and sent us home with two jars of delicious homemade raspberry jam. We are already contemplating a return visit.

    Fred2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay! Brenda and Denis are the consummate Airbnb hosts – welcoming, kind, generous, and quick to suggest ideas (and provide materials for) restaurants, hiking, sightseeing, activities, etc. They made me feel like a part of the family, and as a solo traveler, that’s especially appreciated. AND, they were very respectful of my space. The room is clean, private and on your own side of the house. Bathroom isn’t attached, but it’s right across the hall. Breakfast was great, and they check in with you before you arrive to get a sense of what you like to eat so they can have it on hand. The house is great, with a beautiful sloping lawn down to the lake. LOVED the lake, swam 2-3 times a day in its clear, cool waters, and enjoyed the shade and great breezes while hanging out on the bench they have at the lake’s edge. Would love to return!

  • This was such a wonderful stay. The house is in a great location by the pond, and Denis and Brenda are fantastic hosts. Breakfast is great and they make sure everything for the stay is perfect. We’ll be back again for sure :)
