It was a magic stay in a truly amazing chateau! The garden was so calm and relaxing and the service so friendly i definately have to come back! The best stay in many years of trips to fontainebleau.

Amazing welcome Sylvie who was very attentive to the profiles of those accompanying me and was able to adapt the configuration of the house with a lot of empathy and kindness. The house in the grounds of a domain has the character and charm, perhaps more suited to a family gathering at a friends residence wanting to party. very well equipped inside and stamp furniture. I recommend sincerely small house (which is not small) to all lovers of the countryside and quiet charm.

The house is really beautiful and has a the old it excellent special charm. Despite the age, everything is well maintained and the kitchen equipment is fairly modern, you will find definitely everything you need. The only thing that could be improved, would be a better heating and insulation. Note to Wifi: It works well, but does not have too much bandwidth. The location is also fantastic, absolute peace, a stream a hundred yards passing next to the house. Sylvie is very pleasant, friendly and uncomplicated as hostess. It is mostly in the area, if you somehow needs help and is happy to share information about activities and opportunities in the local area with. However, it is not at all pushy or comes without notice into the house. All in all, thumbs up, highly recommended.

Very cosy place in the beautyfull Bourgogne region, in a quiet little village. the accomodation is a large room and bathroom in a separate house next to the owner's house. It's cosy decorated. All is very clean. Delicious breakfast is included. The owners are a very friendly couple with kids. They are very helpfull and willing to explain all you want to know. We felt really very welcome. A beautiful place just like the pictures, if not more. The country house is charming and everything is perfect in every detail. Leticia is not only kind and sympathetic, but he knows to add those touches that make a lot of pleasure, by a charming garden, the champions, brushing, to chocolates. The petit dejeuneur serving in the morning is an experience that will delight all five senses! Really nice.

Our first trip to France was made even better than we'd imagined by staying here at Montmachoux! The suite is beautifully furnished and comfortable and breakfast is amazing! Leticia and her husband are both so friendly and helpful and gave us great suggestions for how to navigate Paris and other nearby sites. Staying in the countryside and taking the train into Paris for day trips was easy and gave us a wonderfully enriched experience of both city and county life in France. The quiet town and surrounding farmland provided space for peaceful walks and reflection. Nearby towns were easy driving distance for outings to chateaux and village shops. Our whole airbnb experience was exceptional...even better than the photos and description convey. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

I have had the great pleasure of being a guest in Leticia’s home several times and during all different seasons throughout the year. Leticia’s warm and inviting guesthouse makes any traveler feel immediately at home. The room is stylish, the bed is very comfortable, and the bathroom is spacious and clean. The shower has great water pressure and all toiletries are provided—no need to even bring a hairdryer. Leticia’s background in the fashion industry is apparent by the exquisite décor throughout the property—many of which are Pre-Columbian antiques or locally sourced finds from nearby flea markets (be sure to ask Leticia for the best spots to antique in the area). Guests would be remiss if they did not take advantage of the ‘table d'hôte’ option as Leticia and her husband Fabien are exceptional cooks and needless to say the locally sourced fruits, vegetables, meats are second to none. Dining in their home at their beautiful table, or on their patio in nicer weather, really makes your excursion into the French countryside complete. There’s no shortage of fun activities in the area for adults and children including antiquing at local flea markets, strolling through the historical neighboring towns, hiking in the nearby Fontainebleau forest and visiting Montmachoux’s ‘famous’ ostriches. I highly recommend staying at Leticia and Fabien’s guesthouse to long-distance travelers and city-dwellers in need of a weekend getaway alike. A stay of any length at this beautiful and tranquil retreat will guarantee you leave happier and more relaxed than when you arrived.

our experience was wonderful. Leticia and Fabian were great hosts. they made us feel like we were at home and on vacation at the same time. super friendly the room was perfect with every detail perfect. they brought a beautiful and tasty cheese plate it was amazing. it was the perfect last night in France stay for us. just minutes from fountaine bleu, an hour from Paris and an hour from the airport. highly recommend this quiet get away.

Nice stay in this lovely home. Beautiful and large pleasant area around the house. large and convenient house, yet cozy and warm. Two minor drawbacks, however: heating a bit random and missing some accessories of life (hooks in bedrooms and bathrooms, scissors, juicer). I still recommend this lovely house 10 minutes drive from a large shopping center. Sylvie is very nice and accomodating.

Brigitte and Lauren were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The house is spacious and beautiful and extremely clean with everything we could have needed. The gardens front and back were lovely and we loved eating out in the back garden, which was private and idyllic. Myrtille, the cat is adorable and very cuddly. The village is gorgeous, just how you imagine a rustic French village. It was lovely to walk round in the evening; the little church and cemetary and visiting the ostritches! The surrounding area is beautiful and great for bike riding and exploring nearby villages. Great shopping for most things within 15 min drive and brilliant swimming lake 20 mins away. Fontainbleau and forest, Troyes, Grez sur Loing for canoeing; all wonderful in different ways. Loads more we could have done and would love to come back.

My husband, 6 & 3 year old spent one night in this delightful cottage to break up the journey between the alps region, where our full holiday was, and Dieppe ferry. The cottage is absolutely gorgeous, very well appointed and the hosts generously left drinks for the evening and food for breakfast, which was appreciated after a long drive. Friends of the owners met us at the cottage and welcomed us warmly and orientated us to the house. They also provided board games which kept the children entertained. The village is very quiet and peaceful. We walked to the edge of the village and the children were delighted to find and feed the donkeys! The cottage had beautiful gardens for the children to play in and we were able to sit out for the evening meal. I highly recommend this cottage and would definitely stay again if the opportunity arose.

Great little Gite, perfect for a short climbing break. Set in a beautiful area and only 30 minutes max from most of the bouldering areas. Very welcoming hosts!

We had a great weekend in the home of Jacques and Gisele. The garden is beautiful, very quiet and pleasant! Gisèle and Jacques are very considerate, very caring. A real change of scenery in a rural setting.

We are delighted with our stay. We were very well received, the house is cute and the beautiful garden. Many flowers and succulents are all around the house and garden is near the forest. If you are looking for a quite place in the country, this is the place. The house and garden matched the description - cosy and peaceful. Unless you're on a biking holiday, you'd need a car to get around. Even though we didn't meet our hosts, they welcomed us with fresh flowers on the table and information on everything we needed. We would love to return some other time.

We have had a fantastic, relaxing week in beautiful surroundings. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and shown around (also by the beautiful garden). The house is neat and gives the impression that it is new. In the garden we had the whole week our own place, but if we wanted to know about the area or activity something the landlord was always accessible. Jacques told us all about the area and Giselle himself us to try. Baked bread and jam They are very welcoming but not intrusive. For a truly relaxing holiday where you want to be yourself, this is the perfect place!
