Places to stay in Unity

Places to stay in Unity
Modern duplex built recently across the street from a small berry and vegetable farm. This fully furnished home has a large deck with a great view. It is located 2.5 miles from Freedom village and the Lost Kitchen restaurant. It is also 8 miles from Unity College, and the Common Ground Fair fairgrounds. This single story building has a ramp, but it is slightly steeper then current standards. The inside is also laid out for wheelchair access.
This property is located 2.5 miles from Freedom village, so the traffic is nonexistent and the views are beautiful. The farm in the summer is up and running with berries, fruit, veggies, fresh eggs and ponies!
  • Clean and spacious in a beautiful quiet rural location.

  • Diane's place is the nicest Airbnb I have ever stayed at!! It's a full, lovely, new house with a beautiful kitchen and a deck. So comfortable. She has and runs an amazing farm. I was travel on foot and she was very kind to me. She gave me two dozen of her fresh farm eggs, and some of her amazing fruit jam. During the season she supplies guests with raspberries, peaches, and other fruit that she grows. The most incredible stay and host in Maine. You won't be disappointed.

  • Diane‘s place is wonderful. It is clean, comfortable, and her thoughtful touches of including farm fresh eggs and homemade jam make this a wonderful value and a restorative place to stay. I highly recommend it. The location is excellent. It feels slightly remote, but in a good way. There are actually plenty of amenities within 10 or 15 minutes, and there is quite a lot to do as well. Unity has an excellent pizza place, and the alpaca farm in town is worth visiting too. I highly recommend this place - check it out.

  • HIGHLY RECOMMEND - AMAZING!! The house was spotless and there was everything that I needed & forgot to pack like shampoo! It was within 5 min from downtown and super easy to find in the most beautiful location! I will definitely be back next time I go to unity!

  • Diane and her house is amazing! Diane is the perfect hostess! Extremely thoughtful. The house is spotless! Has everything you need there.

    Donna2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time I've stayed with Diane! Just as great as the first time, same cleanliness, same amazing hospitality, and always enjoy the english muffins, jams, canadian bacon, and eggs!

  • We had a great stay at Diane’s place! It’s pleasant and cosy and clean, and communication was easy. We loved the farm-fresh eggs Diane put in the fridge for us! We’d stay again if the opportunity arises.

This beautifully finished tiny house was completed as a labor of love. The wood was cut and milled from the land surrounding it, with charming rustic touches added around the home. The house is a compact & bijou 250sq ft, but comfortably sleeps 2, or a family with a small child.
The upper “bird’s nest” is the perfect place to watch the stars and commune among the fireflies on a Summer night. With ample windows, the outside is brought in to guarantee romantic evenings to remember.
The property is only a stone’s throw from one of America’s most exclusive dining experiences, The Lost Kitchen. The restaurant is housed in a stunningly restored grist mill only a couple of miles away in the nearby town of Freedom. It has been reviewed and revered worldwide, and received 20,000 requests for reservations last year alone. Coastal Belfast is just 15 minutes away to the South, with plenty of restaurant choices and art stores, while Waterville to the North is home to the famous Railroad Square cinema and Big G’s deli, which must not be missed!
  • Tom was super nice and his property was awesome. Great place to view the stars at night. Also right down the road from the the common ground fair! Thanks again Tom!

    Jeffrey2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tom's hand-built cabin with bathroom facility and outdoor shower adjacent was the perfect upgrade from camping - snug, comfortable, conveniently appointed and homey (hand-painted with glow in dark stars in sleeping loft!) Great for a single and can accommodate a couple, it is a very private setting behind the vegetable garden on his property in a woodsy setting in the hills above the mid-coast towns and the very nice Belfast with it's terrific co-op to anchor, about a 20-25 min drive down the pleasant scenic Rt. 173. Stop at any of the several roadside stores they're all good, open early and late, and Weaver's has a morning bakery as the sun is coming up. Tom and wife are super nice and authentic. Great value, great place, great hosts, and Maine: ME

  • The tiney house was awesome! Very comfortable, just like the ones on TV. It was perfect, rustic but comfortable, I spent my days exploring the coastle cities of Maine and hiking. It was so cool to actually stay someplace that was really doing the sustainable lifestyle! I'm def going back again! Tom was super nice, even refunded me when I had to check out early for work, and didn't mind checking me in in the middle of the night lol, it was great!

The well-equipped kitchen has plenty of room with lots of counter space. The great dining room also has a piano for our musical guests. The warm wood floors in the large living room and bedrooms feels so good on bare feet. Each bedroom has plenty of room for a morning yoga sesh. The farmhouse has fully updated electrical and plumbing and brand new bathrooms. Still working on some areas to paint on the exterior around back but, don't worry, we won't be working while there are guests! Feel free to use the barn/garage if you need to store bicycles, skis, etc. Enjoy the property, the lawn, the wild field and wildlife pond, and the small pine stand out back. In winter, snowmobiles can ride straight up to back porch from the ITS 85. The wildlife pond is shared for ice skating, when frozen.

  • My family and I had a wonderful stay at this charming and cozy antique farmhouse. Plenty of space to cook, share a meal and enjoy each other’s company. It was 5 degrees outside, but toasty warm inside. Jeff and Mary have done a wonderful job updating and improving, while keeping all the character that makes this grand old girl special. They were super responsive and made for a flawless stay. I’m looking forward to staying here again.

    Sharon2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This spacious house has many striking original features, making it feel a bit like you are in a different time. There is plenty to explore in the house and attached barn. We did not have the chance to enjoy the outdoor fire pit, but it would be great in the warmer months. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this place.

This is a tiny retreat for one or two guests. There is a fireplace facing the twin day bed. There is a screened in kitchenette. No shower facilities...but ask about availability of other cabins to possibly schedule time for use. This cabin is also a perfect add-on to those who need a little more space for additional guests when renting cabin 1 or 3! Winter rental details: We reduce our rates for the for the winter months because it's a great stay, for those who like winter camping in comfort!
This is a "still in the process" tiny cabin that really feels like a retreat from the world. There is no indoor shower but if you are a hardy soul who enjoys off the grid living... with a little luxury...a bird bath does the job. The "bathroom" is a very clean, cedar outhouse next to the cabin with a stained glass window. This is an experience that is perfect for some...and not for others. Read description thoroughly and ask questions if needed. Adventure and seclusion await! Winter rental details: We reduce our rates for the hide-a-way for the winter months because it's a great stay...but for those who like winter camping in comfort! This cabin heats up beautifully with the fireplace and is so snuggly...but shoveling a little snow and lugging a few armfulls of wood might be part of this woodland experience...oh...but if you are up for it...what an experience!
Jackson is a lovely town right on rt 7 with great access to the Bangor Airport and the beautiful coastal town of Belfast with many treasures to explore from there. Many of our guests are on their way to or from visiting Acadia which is about 1 hour 30 min away. Locally the Jackson/Brooks area has beautiful farms and events associated with those locations. It's not far from the famed Lost Kitchen...book well in advance! A golf course...The Hills to Sea trail...and great local food are all close by with seasonal events happening throughout the year.
  • Perfect cabin for a weekend getaway! Such a cozy and cute place. As soon as we arrived, the cabin was so warm and toasty due to the fire that they had already set up for us! Thank you Jim & Doreen. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Maine! -Darlene & Alex

  • Had a great relaxing time in the woods..much needed time off in a perfect spot..will be back

    Alfred2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This quaint and quiet little cabin is darling. The outhouse is clean and easy to access. Having the wood stove during the chilly night was charming and cozy. I’d come back again.

  • Such a beautiful little cabin with everything you need. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a cozy get away!

  • Great little place to stay!

    Amy2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely little cabin, perfect for one or two people. I needed a place to stay for one night while at the Common Ground Fair. The cabin was an easy 20-minute drive from the fairgrounds on country roads. It sits among a cluster of 3 or 4 cabins that share a driveway,so even though I was traveling alone I felt safe with other guests next door. It had been renovated recently so all of the wood inside was brand new ; the twin beds very comfortable; and the cabin was nicely decorated inside too. I didn’t have time to use the wood stove but I imagine that would be nice on a cool evening . There was an electric heater that warmed the cabin quickly. The kitchenette is on a screened porch. So sweet! And if all of that wasn’t enough to delight, the outside (heated) shower had just been installed and I was able to enjoy a warm shower outside in the morning. Such a wonderful experience! Next time, I will stay longer and use it as a jumping off pad to explore the Midcoast. Belfast is an easy 20-minute drive. Really enjoyed my all-too-short stay!

    Heather2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and cozy place. A small bed for 2 people but which favor the reconcialiation ;) . Outdoor shower 85% finished (very soon complete) but very effective. We loved the place. Thank you

Burleigh Street is a unique part of town in Waterville. Large old houses on a quiet street along the Messalonskee stream. Many of the houses date back to the late 1800s and early 1900s. Mr. Burleigh built our house in 1915. He and his family lived downstairs and his favorite aunt lived upstairs. Originally a two family house.
  • Thank you for opening up your home to my family and two dogs. It was a highlight of our trip. Hopefully we will be back next year.

Experience a true Maine camp. Rustic, located within feet of the water. Boating, kayaking, swimming, and fishing everything one seeks in a summer vacation. Located on lake Winnecook. Peaceful, quiet and beautiful sunsets, will delight any traveler. Camp life with many of the conveniences of home.
    Rustic with water access
  • This is the true Maine camp experience! Rustic, scenic, and cozy. We stayed over an early fall weekend for a nearby family wedding. Our only regret is that we didn't get to spend more time at the cabin, to take advantage of the boating, fishing, and hang-out opportunities that this place has in abundance. Would definitely stay again.

    George2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Fun rustic camp right on the water. It’s nice and private and has kayaks to use.

    Kathy2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This Maine camp is the perfect spot for a relaxing and memorable family vacation. We've been to this camp several times and look forward to our next visit. Philip and Wendy are great hosts and respond swiftly to any requests.

    Brian2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for our first Maine camp. Right on the water. Really rustic but that’s exactly what we wanted. Great host as well! Very quick to respond and answer any questions

    Wesley2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Back for our 4th summer - a lovely place for a peaceful family vacation.

    Hannah2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a nostalgic, rustic camp experience this camp fits the bill! It's a well-loved family camp beautiful positioned just feet from the lake. My mother and I caught crappies, white perch, and bass right from the dock. The swimming is good, but water shoes are necessary for comfort. My toddlers were able to play on the pebbly shore and wade into the water. The water is deep enough at the end of the dock to jump or dive in. It's a large lake with lots of exploring opportunities with the provided kayaks and canoe. Inside, the screened in porch was our favorite space. The west-facing open porch was our favorite place to watch the sunset - when we weren't fishing - and the sunsets are spectacular! The kitchen is very small but has all modern conveniences. The bathhouse adds to the nostalgic camp experience as it's a separate building attached to the house by a deck. Inside, it has all necessary bathroom fixtures including a washer and dryer. Upstairs, the sleeping area is essentially divided into two rooms but there are no doors; one side has two king-sized beds, and the other has a queen and two twins. The rooms are spacious and have plenty of windows to catch the lake breezes. The hosts have thought of everything; the camp is full of surprises when you start looking around. They communicate well when you have questions and/or need local advice. Our one suggestion would be to bring your own drinking water as we found the tap water to have a strong taste. All in all, we had a great week and made a ton of great memories!

    Rebecca2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great camp and location, my family had a great time.

    Richard2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic spot! Beautiful views with perfect outdoor amenities that include kayaks and canoes so be sure to take a paddle around peaceful Unity Pond! The cabin is rustic and just what we were looking for in a "camp". Plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy and plenty of wildlife to watch, including bald eagles, osprey and loons! Great memories are made in places like this!

Such a quiet place close enough to Acadia, so you get a full experience. The hosts are so kind and interested in making sure that your trip goes well! Definitely a place we would return to.

  • Jon is a great host providing plenty of suggestion and knowledge of the area. The cabin was impeccably clean with special added touches like no other. We will deffinately be returning.

    Amanda2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful cabin, perfectly laid out and clean. Linens, snacks, somehow no bugs and close to lots of lovely places which Jon can tell you all about.

    Margaret2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I spent a delightful long weekend exploring the Mid-Coastal region of Maine, with Jon's lovely cabin as a perfect base. Jon and his wife Martha were extremely hospitable, offering us tailored recommendations for places to visit based on our interests. The cabin was spotlessly clean and stocked with unexpected but much appreciated amenities, such as freshly ground coffee, orange juice, milk, and snacks. Whatever your reasons for visiting the area, I imagine you'd be hard pressed to find a more perfect spot.

    Kevin2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay. Jon was a great host. He greeted us as soon as we pulled in and showed us around the cabin. He gave us a lot of suggestions for fun things to do in the area. My daughter was sick and Jon gave told me where the closest hospital was. He also checked in with us to see how she was feeling throughout our stay. Jon was very friendly and thoughtful. The cabin was perfectly clean and comfortable. It was stocked with snacks, fresh ground coffee, tea, and drinks. I would definitely stay here again!

    Rebecca2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of places say “sparkling clean.” This one really is. 4 years old and still brand new. The spot is perfectly serene and the host exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable.

    Jerome2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jon's cabin is a great little spot off the beaten path. We arrived a little early which was no problem since the cabin is located right next to Jon's house. He was quick to come out and greet us before we even got to the door. Jon was very welcoming and pleasant. He gave us a great background of the cabin and the story of building it as well as his own home. He brought us into the cabin and gave us an overview for our stay. He had freshly ground coffee as well as a stock of snacks, and water and milk in the fridge. The cabin had WiFi which was great. Jon provided us a list of things to do in the surrounding area, Belfast, ME being one of the suggestions that we took him up on. It was a quick little trip with lots to do. Most of our time was in Bangor which was just 40 minutes away so the cabin was in a good spot for us. We communicated with Jon a few times through AirBnB and he was very responsive. Upon our departure, Jon came out to meet us to ensure we had a pleasant time. If/when we return to the area we would certainly check to see if the cabin in available. It's a great place and Jon is an excellent host.

    David2019-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jon's cabin is the perfect getaway for a weekend in Maine. Jon claimed the cabin was three years old -- but to be honest, it felt brand new to us! It was immaculately clean, and still smelled of fresh wood. Jon's hospitality was also above expectations -- he provided all kinds of goodies in the cabin (including lots of fresh coffee, cocoa, tea, snacks, and even wine!). He added special touches, like a greeting in Nepali to welcome the guests I was staying with. Also, on size: my group had four people, and we felt comfortable, despite the small space. Though this is a cabin, it still has modern amenities -- the bathroom was fully functional with hot water (unlimited -- no running out of hot water!). In short, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a secluded, quiet, but comfortable place in Maine.

We have a beautiful, clean efficiency apartment- like suite in a daylight basement on the Kennebec River. This is self check in. We are close to Kennebec Comm College, Colby College, Thomas College and Unity college. Even a wine and cheese shop Meridians . We are just walks away from the Messalonskee trail, this is a groomed trail that is alongside the Kennebec river. PLEASE see the pictures to make sure this is the right fit for you! READ OTHER NOTES BEFORE BOOKING!! Thanks.
This is a daylight "basement" suite. Does not have a full kitchen. This kitchenette has a single cook top with cookware, a toaster oven and microwave. Your stay here is close to town but just out enough to enjoy a peaceful place to relax. We have created a coastal Maine feel to our decor to help you experience an authentic Maine stay.
We are on a side street in a rural part of town. Benton is a small community. We usually use the amenities of the town of Fairfield, just across the river. We have neighbors that are quiet and friendly. We've lived here seventeen years. There's nothing else that compares. We love Maine's coastal area. We are an hour from Portland and fourty-five minutes to Belfast/Camden area. We love Bar Harbor and we can make it a day trip if we want.
  • Amazing stay great place.

  • This my husbands second time and my first time staying here. AWESOME place! Location is so close to everything we needed and their recommendation book was PERFECT. I loved the nautical theme! Definitely 10/10! Thank you!!!

  • Craig and Jen’s place is a great place to stop in the Waterville/Central Maine area! The area very nice and responsive and have a great view of the river. Thanks again!

    Liz2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Craig and Jen’s place was exactly as described in their listing. We found them easily and the steps to the private entrance were shoveled and sanded. The apartment was simple and convenient, similar to a hotel suite with kitchenette. We used the fold out cot, in addition to the double bed, which were both comfortable. We had everything we needed to prepare simple meals. We were able to quickly access downtown restaurants, the grocery store and the cross country ski trails. Read their bathroom notes - it was quirky but functional. We ended up kind of sit-showering, which was fine with us but could be tricky for others.

    Erin2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • I just want to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay,it really felt like being at home on a wonderful relaxing day,not an impersonal corporate cubicle. The river view was enchanting even on a dreary rainy December day,the ducks were awesome.

    Noelle2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • This space is cozy and right by the river! It rained on us when we stayed so we didn't get to enjoy the outside space. I loved the clawfoot tub. But, if you're much over 5'7", you won't be standing for a shower. Overall, I'd visit again earlier in the year!

  • Craig & Jen were awesome! Their place was awesome and exactly what we wanted. Right between the places in Maine we wanting to visit (Bangor & Portland). Benton was awesome and had a lot of things to do as well. Great places to eat! The AirBnB had everything we needed. It was very clean and had anything you would need for a short stay! Would definitely stay there again if we come up that way another time :)

This home is in a country setting on Hatchet Mountain in Hope near the beautiful Maine coast and about 8 miles from Camden. About a mile from our home, is Hobbs Pond (2 miles long!) with public access for swimming, boating and kayaking. Hiking trails surround us, too! Beaver Lodge, a favorite spot for weddings and other family events, is also nearby.
Enjoy a private kitchen, dining, living space, outdoor deck and bathroom with all the essentials. There is one bedroom with a sunroom that looks over the garden areas. The grape arbor is a great spot to sit and stay cool on a hot summer day.
Hope is a small, quiet town in the mountains near lakes, but 8 miles from the ocean! The tourist areas of Camden, Rockport and Rockland are nearby. Acadia National Park is about a 90 minute drive!
  • Beautiful home in a great location! Thanks so much!

Home with beautiful views of the country. Enjoy the sunrise and sunset as you relax on the deck. Fix your dinner in a beautiful custom kitchen. Gas cooktop and electric oven. Relax in the living room reading a book or playing a game. 10 minutes from The Lost Kitchen in Freedom, 30 minutes from the coast. Easy access to hiking trails, wildlife often entertain. 2 miles from Unity college. Walking and biking easily to The Common Ground Fair.
This home sits on Quaker Hill with views from the east and west. Amazing night sky, a telescope available for star gazers. We are in farm country, in the fall enjoy watching the harvesting of crops, in the spring planting. Summer time it is fun to watch the corn grow. In the winter enjoy sliding just outside the kitchen. Bring snow shoes and cross country skis and enjoy skimming across the fields. In the spring enjoy the "waking up" of flowers and trees. In the fall the colors are amazing.
We are a farming community. My husband and his brother retired from dairy farming September 30, 2017. The farm was a working farm for 70 years. We have a unique town. We have an Amish community and they have a Community Store. MOFGA is a walk through the woods or an easy bike ride. We have pizza restaurants and Mammies a sit down home cooking restaurant. Edward's Shop and Save a local grocery that has a great variety. The Depot has a gas station, Dunkin' donuts, Subway and fast food. We are 30 minutes from Belfast, a coastal town.
  • The house is every thing as promised! Beautiful inside and out, we absolutely loved our stay. The hosts are incredibly thoughtful and truly make it a home away from home. We cannot thank them enough!

  • Everything was as described. Comfortable and peaceful location with just the right amount of space for my wife, two sons, and me to enjoy a weekend reunion in Unity. Recommend for anyone visiting the area.

  • A Touch of Home is exactly what Tom and Linda’s place is like. We immediately felt right at home. The house is in a very quiet neighborhood with lots of privacy. The sunset and sunrises were gorgeous. Tom and Linda went the extra mile to make their house feel comfortable and relaxing. If we get a chance to go back to Maine, Tom and Linda’s is where we will stay!

    Kristy2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • This house was the perfect space for our family when we were visiting relatives for Christmas in Pittsfield. There was a beautiful Christmas tree up and we all had a great time hanging out in the living room and kitchen. We would definitely stay here again!

    Christa2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely home in a bucolic rural setting. Great views from all sides. Wonderful hot tub! I used it and watched the snow fall outside---very peaceful. Close to Unity yet very private.

    Linda2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Linda’s place was very cozy and charming. It was perfect time to enjoy the fireplace and foliage around the house. The place was huge for two people plus a small dog. The area was very peaceful and no traffic at all which was awesome coming from a big city. The information that Tom and Linda provided us was useful. They were wonderful hosts and replied quickly with our inquiries.

    Jihye2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • We were visiting our daughter for Colby College’s Family Weekend and our son was looking at colleges in the area. We were greeted by a sweet note and jar of homemade apple jelly. Linda was a fantastic host and stopped by for a few minutes to greet us and see if we needed anything. She graciously let us pick apples and peaches from her orchard and gave us lots of suggestions for area travel. The house binder provided had many local points of interest and menus and came in really helpful. Definitely visit the Amish Charcuterie and Community Market. It was such an interesting experience and the community members were so friendly. Our kids had a great time on the zip line and playing in the adorable hobbit house. (Mind you they are teens!) The linens and towels were super clean and the kitchen appliances all new. We used the huge lobster pot to make a delicious lobster dinner and salad from local organic produce. Don’t miss the avocado toast, interesting teas or hand poured coffee at 93 Main Street Coffee. It rivaled some of the top NYC coffee places we like. We felt like we were visiting relatives and not renting a home for a few days. A great home that’s clean, cozy, private and safe and easy to communicate with the hosts. All necessary amenities were available and we cant wait to come back. My only recommendation is to bring slippers or socks with traction as the wood floors are slippery if you wear just plain socks.

    Jenssie2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Linda's place is simply amazing. This was our second time staying there and it was just as good as the first. We were even treated to a big home cooked breakfast!

This cozy house is walking distance from downtown Belfast, the Belfast Rail Trail, and the Belfast Harbor. The house is a romantic nest for two or a crash pad for up to six. Live comfortably while gaining easy access to all the cool adventures Mid-Coast Maine offers. Please note this is a real older house in a real neighborhood. It is eco-friendly and I do not use pesticides. You may see harmless house spiders, birds and plants. If you are looking for a hotel experience, please stay in a hotel.
This lovely bungalow style house has a full kitchen with all the kitchen tools you need to cook using easily obtained local food. It has a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, full stove with oven, all pots, pans and dishes, and all silver and utensils you might need. The Belfast Co-op and two local farmer's markets are walking distance away. The sleeping arrangements offer great flexibility - there is a bedroom with a queen bed, another with twin bunk beds, and also a comfortable futon couch. There is also plenty of room in the yard to set up a tent if you prefer to enjoy the fresh ocean air flowing off the bay. The front porch provides a relaxing place to watch the sky and listen to the wind blow through the willow tree leaves. The house is heated and cooled with a heat pump which allows you to keep the space the perfect temperature at all times. There is a washer and dryer in the basement if you need to cycle some clothes during a longer stay.
The proximity this house provides you to downtown Belfast is awesome. You are only two minutes walking away from Waterfall Arts, an amazing local art center that hosts all kinds of classes for kids and adults, a gallery, lots of events and music, and a farmer's market. Another three minutes walking puts you in the heart of downtown Belfast, which is an amazing small town! Here are some of my favorites: Check out the Colonial Theater for the latest movies in a gorgeous art deco theater with three screens. There are lots of awesome restaurants (faves: Nautlius, Meanwhile in Belfast, Delvino's, Laan Xang, Chase's Daily, Darby's), local breweries/bars (Rollies, Three Tides, Front Street Pub), two delicious ice cream shops (The Chocolate Drop Candy Shop, Wild Cow Creamery), and so many cool stores (Coyote Moon, The Green Store, Colburn's Shoes, Justine, The Good Table, Eat More Cheese, Yo Momma's, Side Country Sports and Bike Shop - you can rent bikes there, and on and on). The Belfast area is chock full of outdoor activities: you can hike, bike, kayak, paddleboard, sail, walk, ski, skate - anything you want, we do it! There are local schooners at the Belfast harbor to book a sailing trip on (Timberwind, Amity), as well as places to rent bikes, kayaks and other gear (Side Country Sports, Water Walker, Ducktrap Kayak). Local trails and preserves include the Belfast Rail Trail, the Hills to the Sea trail, Stover Preserve, Bald Mountain (towards Camden), Head of Tide Preserve, Sears Island (near Searsport), Moose Point State Park, Camden Hill State Park, and so many more! And of course Belfast is a great jumping off place for the full range of what Maine offers: visit Islesboro (twenty minutes drive to ferry, twenty minute ferry ride), Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor (hour and a half drive), Camden and Mount Batty (twenty minute drive), Baxter State Park and Katahdin (two hour drive), on and on...
  • A delightful house in a beautiful area.

  • An authentic Maine cottage with a true feel of a snug home. Great location convenient to town and outdoor activities . Louisa is a thoughtful host. We enjoyed staying here.

    Penny2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is indeed a cozy house. It is clean and comfortable with all the basics one would expect. The location is great -- it's a relatively short walk to downtown Belfast (one of the loveliest small towns in Maine). There is also easy access to the Belfast Rail Trail for running/biking/walking. I highly recommend Louisa's place if you're looking for a base from which to explore the greater Belfast area.

    Elizabeth2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint house in the middle of nowhere. Belfast is an interesting place. Thank you Louisa

    Michael2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The place really does feel like a little home away from home. It’s spacious, clean, and there is literally everything you need; from spices to board games. The host is super friendly and replies very fast. Everything worked out perfectly and we had an amazing time. Already recommend the place to a friend.

    Teodor2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect a clean, cozy and carefree atmosphere, just like home. It is easy to relax and sit around the kitchen table with coffee in the morning or spend a casual evening at the cottage with take out food from one of the many restaurants in Belfast. It is close to everything, yet very quiet at night.

    Beth2020-03-06T00:00:00Z

A 14' yurt with pretty triangular windows. A unique way to stay in Maine. Set on our homestead, nestled into a little pasture next to the woods and our cord-wood house. 30 minutes to the ocean and Belfast. 8 minutes to the now internationally famous restaurant - The Lost Kitchen. Beautiful hiking - the Hills to Sea Trail runs through Unity. Amish stores, The Common Ground Fair, Unity College. Thinking about camping, but want something more unique and private? This is perfect for you!
We have designed and priced this retreat to be like tent camping only in a much cooler tent and you don't have to set it up! To keep the cost down, you bring your own sleeping pad (or air mattress) and bedding, just like camping. An outhouse is located nearby, about the kind of walk you would expect at a campground. We can provide drinking water.
The Lost Kitchen is down the road. Unity has a coffee shop, pizza, the Amish are here and have a general store and make doughnuts, have a charcuteries shop, bike shop... Our house itself is rural, 8 minutes to Unity downtown.
  • Sarah made sure we had everything we needed and were well taken care of. The Yurt is beautiful and solid; with homey touches of banners and books. The area is very rural so we heard lots of different animals at night such as owls and coyotes. There are roosters in the area so you may wake up from them. The night sky was amazing! There was no light pollution. I have not seen that many stars in such a long time. They looked close enough to touch; very memorizing. We would certainly stay here again. Thank you!

Located only about 6 minutes from I95, my cozy cape, built in 1948, maintains a lot of its original charm with hardwood floors, built-ins, soft corners and warm colors. Your private room has access to public living room, kitchen, and shared bathroom. The private backyard also makes a lovely place to sit and unwind. Easy access to groceries, movies and restaurants in Downtown, but tucked into a quiet neighborhood on a dead-end road, this is the perfect blend of insulation and accessibility.
Like many small neighborhoods in the area, this was a very strongly French neighborhood when it started. The house is built in a style very similar to others built in its era, and with design features that harken back to a time of small families and big values. Important to note: because of the size of the rooms, the sofa bed is in the living room, so privacy is limited, but I am very respectful of your space. Also know that there is only one bathroom, so guests will share that with each other, and with myself, as well as the kitchen.
    Quiet neighborhood. Families and dogs.
  • Roberts place was a nice place to put my head down at night. He communicated clearly with me leading up to and during the stay. My trip lasted nearly two weeks and I had zero problems the entire time. A nice warm room with space, firm bed, cooking options if needed... couldn’t ask for much else. Location was nice as it was sort of near everything in the Waterville area. Would highly recommend for 1-2 people if they are looking for value and don’t need to live a lavish lifestyle.

10 acres secluded Mountain side cedar cabin.. Brew Pub on same property with 6 beers, wine, amazing food, live music. Hiking, lakes, Kayak Fish. If Sasquatch is booked, check Bigfoot Retreat 150 foot away, almost the same. Master bedroom /main level is separate from loft quarters upstairs. Custom built cabin all cedar inside, a cozy bedroom at walk in main level. Loft has 2 beds +pull out couch. Lower level / full bathroom with tile shower. Private road to top of mountain .
Mountain side cabin up 1000' gravel road good condition. Brewery on site but camp is quite private and separated by over 1000' of woods. 3 breweries in the area to visit and wineries as well.
Liberty maine has 985 folks here, we are good people and its a beautiful spot. 3 Breweries, wineries, lakes, hiking trails very close. Best View you will probably see for awhile, "million dollar view". Just 3 miles off Rt 3 on the way to DownEast, easy stop
  • Perfect spot

  • Beautiful, quiet, relaxing place for a getaway. The view from the deck is breath-taking- we went during leaf peeping season and were sure to wake up to watch the sun rise!

    Kristen2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures just don’t do this really unique space justice —the view is breathtaking and the cabin is very cozy. Loved that we were in a very walkable distance to the brewpub yet when you’re at the cabin, you are still secluded and feels private. The host and those we met in the brewpub were super friendly — We definitely hope to return!

  • This was the perfect getaway for my husband and I. The views are incredible. The cabin is adorable and cozy. You must go eat the brewpub while you’re here. The food and staff were incredible. Guy was excellent with communication and answered all my messages promptly.

    Rena2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful experience in Guy’s cabin. Not only was the cabin itself charming and perfect for our family get-away, but the brew pub on site with delicious wood-fired pizza, great beer, hard cider and bbq, made our experience OUTSTANDING. I will highly recommend this listing to anyone headed to the Liberty, ME area.

    Molly2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Guy's cabin - it is truly a special place and you can tell that Guy has put in a lot of thought to make it a wonderful experience for his guests. Our only regret is that we didn't get to spend longer there. Check-in and communication were super easy. We loved that there are trails to explore right out the back door (thanks Guy for your work on this), and as everyone has mentioned, the view from the cabin is amazing. Having the brewpub onsite is convenient but set just far enough to still feel private. The food was excellent! Just a heads up that there's no oven (in case like us you bought certain groceries), but otherwise, the cabin has everything you'd need. We hope to be back enjoying the view!

    Cindy2019-09-15T00:00:00Z

Camp site only. Families welcome! Convenient to Augusta. Camp near tranquil water in a pine grove. Enjoy a campfire in the evening. Go for a canoe ride, a swim, or sit on the dock. Peaceful, quiet, and no light pollution. Rustic bathroom at cottage (hot shower, toilet, sink). One acre lot. It's the ultimate backyard camping experience! Ideal location for a stop going to Acadia National Park or the Common Ground Fair.
Bring your own tent and bed set-up. Pitch your tent anywhere you like. The Airbnb site does not have an option for "no bed," but there is no bed. It is BYOB (Bring You Own Bed), tent, and camping mattress. Self check-in is perfect for social distancing. The waterfront is Worromontogus Lake, known locally as Togus Pond. A bathroom is available at the house with hot shower, soap, shampoo, and of course toilet paper. Bring your own towels. The lot is an acre, so you will be in fairly close proximity to the house (and thus the bathroom). Not really intended as a vacation destination, but a great place to pitch a tent for the night, get a hot shower, enjoy a campfire, and perhaps go out in the canoe. Your experience is best described by Katy, our 2016 caretaker: Nestled down a trail of soft pine needles and surrounded by evergreen trees, lies a place in the minds of many passer byers. Most have spent one night here, sometimes two. It has been a certain reprieve for all who enter. Each life greeted with warm hospitality and offered a sit on the deck overlooking the last rays of the sun hitting the pond below. A welcomed sit it is for folks, as they have tired from their travels. Many have seen some spectacular sights along their journeys here, yet this quiet little abode with the swinging pendulum of hemlock limbs, lulls them to a peaceful state away from the noises of the world. Gazing at the waters, tensions lift and faces soften. Contemplation of this place and perhaps even their lives lay in the silence. There are many different types of people that come here. Couples looking to get away from city life. Friends on excursions. Folks heading to the local fairs. Even the occasional business man needing a place to lay his head. Peoples from all over the world—Germany, France, Australia, China. Almost all have been or are going to incredible Acadia National Park. All these diverse people however, come together over the breakfast table. Differences that normally bring separation, are actually what draws the lives together! These people are most generally well-traveled folks and love to share their stories and to learn about the lives of the locals. Upon initial greeting, people perhaps immediately pick out the differences in each other, as is human tendency in a new setting. But by the end of breakfast, the similarities are what is remembered and has created a unique bond between these people who live all over the world. You see, we all enjoy a nice meal. We all like to break out into smiles. We all enjoy the feeling of safety and peace. We are all delighted when we find those common threads that exist in all of humanity, crossing the barriers of ocean waters, city lights, to skies of only star lights, we have more in commonality than not.
Nice and quiet unpaved road with a speed limit of 15 mph which must be obeyed. Property is set back from road, right on the water. Curved driveway means you cannot see the road. Woodsy and secluded, yet convenient to Augusta. All other homes on the road are year-round residences. Any camp site will be in fairly close proximity to the house.
  • Some come for a night and head on up to Common Ground Fair 30 minutes away, but if you love nature and can stay for a couple days or more, do! I took my kayak out on the still water and saw a blue heron, a nesting loon, a bald eagle and a beaver dam on a small island. Went swimming and lay on the dock and read in the sun. Heard owls and coyotes at night. Karen was very accommodating and friendly. All in all, a wonderful experience!

    Gail2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great little camping spot in a nice, central location. Wonderful to have access to a hot shower and toilet! Sitting around the fire pit at night was perfect and we really enjoyed it.

  • Brenda went beyond the usual AirBnB! Whatever you might need, she has it there. Very thoughtful :-) We really appreciated that she waited to greet us. The beds were very comfortable. Nice quiet place off the main roads, conveniently located for folks travelling back to Canada.

  • Brenda’s place was great for what we were looking for, a place to rest our heads while visiting family in Carmel. Notes with house instructions were helpful and Brenda was always on top of communication. Super nice washer and dryer was a plus!

SUMMER ROSE - overlooking the pasture, at The Appleton Retreat. You will enjoy privacy and silence, except for natures calls. The Appleton Retreat is situated on 120 acres of privately owned land. To the south, and just a short walk from SUMMER ROSE is the Pettengill Stream, a resource protected area where you may hang out or kayak; and to the north, a wooded trail leads to a secluded pond on 1,300 acres of Nature Conservancy protected property.
Seemingly in the middle of nowhere, The Appleton Retreat is just 30 minutes to the scenic mid-coast towns of Belfast, Rockport, Camden and Rockland. And in midsummer if you want to avoid tourists visit the laid back local towns, Hope, Liberty, Freedom, Washington, Searsport...... and many others.

Old Moses Farm is a working farm in a quiet, rural setting in mid-coast Maine. It is conveniently located for easy access to mid-coast Maine activities. I keep cows; sheep; pigs; laying hens. Two fine dogs and a cat also call this home. It's a little off the beaten path; a little unplugged; safe; farmstyle comfy & clean. You will have great wifi, but will not find a tv or microwave! Your upstairs room and half-bath is private to you. Downstairs, kitchen and full bath with shower are shared!
Expect country casual here! It is cricket chirping quiet most all of the time, but because it is a working farm, you will hear roosters, etc., singing the song of their people as they feel necessary! Read a book; relax; paint; nap or conveniently visit coastal destinations.
Though the farm feels like it is out in the boonies, we are fortunate to have several great restaurants in the near vicinity, ranging from above average dining to local flavor. There are a couple of General stores nearby; wineries/ distillery; an award winning goat creamery. If you are looking for a morning stroll or run, there is a peaceful route to explore.
  • Maureen is a very nice and welcoming person. She is very humble and kind. Her house is very much clean and quiet. I enjoy my stay in Maureen's house very much. You will absolutely enjoy your stay in Maureen's lovely house.

  • We very much enjoyed our stay at Old Moses Farm on our way to the Common Ground Fair! Maureen was a lovely host and her farm is beautiful.

  • Mo’s place was fantastic. We loved every minute of our intimate farm stay. You won’t regret meeting her or her sweet companions.

  • A quiet, peaceful accomodation with an attentive host.

    Kevin2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Mo, the host, is truly a gem and so humble! She has a wealth of experiences, and these touches make the stay so thoughtful and comfortable. She has an lively farm, and her dogs are such funny characters. If you’re in Maine and want to get away from the hustle and bustle to slow down your pace, this is a great place to do so. My only regret is not having stayed longer!! Highlight of my trip.

    Sally2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay at Old Moses Farm! Wonderful host, peaceful setting, comfortable house, and sweet four-legged company. Thank you, Mo, for your hospitality and excellent conversation!!

  • Exceptional accommodations on a bucolic working farm with the most welcoming and attentive host! Truly unique experience, you will not be disappointed. Comfortable, welcoming and very clean home!

  • As a fine arts painter, I look for out of the way places to stay and paint. Mo’s place fit that bill nicely. My host (Mo) was friendly and very helpful in pointing out places to paint and things to do the area. I enjoyed a nice meal at the local cafe (Sweet Season Farm Cafe) and then stopped in at the local Blueberry Festival. My room upstairs had its own entrance and was comfortable, neat and clean. The place is a small working farm, with chickens, cows, sheep, pigs and two large friendly dogs. I would definitely visit again.

Due to Covid 19, Maine’s updated recommendations from the governor keeps changing. If you are a Maine resident you can book and stay after June 1. If you are traveling from out of state June- August, it’s recommended that you quarantine for 14 days prior to staying. Please send us a message if you have any questions about booking. We are doing this by a case by case bases and taking extra cleaning steps to keep everyone safe.
This unique space is two separate units and this rental includes both the cabin and caboose!! The area is down the hill from our main house but is completely private while you are here. Please looks through all the pictures to get a full view of our space! The Caboose has 4 twin beds ( 2 bunk beds) the kitchen and a bathroom. The Cabin can sleep 2 in the queen bed, loft area as 2 twin beds and a bathroom. Please note the loft area has a steep ladder and probably isn't safe for children under 5 years old. Right now, there is no Wi-Fi located on sight. This may change in the future but for now, the space is designed to unplug! We do have a TV that has a DVD player so bring your movies or enjoy the ones we have. There is cell phone service that is sometimes hit or miss depending on your carrier.
Payson Hill Farm is located just 10 miles (15 minute drive) from downtown Belfast, and 67 miles (1 hour and 36 minutes) to Bar Harbor. Local gas station Weaver's Roadside Variety is 4 minutes down the road if you need anything! Pizza, soda, gas, ice cream, fishing supplies, you name it! Plus the best whoopie pies around! If you're not from Maine, this is our signature dessert and you'll need to try one! Looking for a fresh out of the bay lobster, you'll need to head over to Young's Lobster Pound! Hannaford is our local grocery store and that's 10 miles away (14 minutes) Even though we are located in Knox, you'll want to head to town for all the fun things to do.
  • Super awesome place!! So unique, cozy and a great little get away. The private walking trails in the woods right behind the cabin are a huge bonus. Highly recommend this stay!

  • Our family of 8 very much enjoyed our stay at Laura’s cabin & caboose! It was really an ideal spot for us. The 4 boys loved sleeping and playing in the caboose. Our girls were thrilled with the loft. We had 2 very cozy and pleasant evenings together. The fireplace great! Home away from home!

    Adam2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Laura and Chris's cabin and caboose are nothing short of amazing, from the milky way at night to the trails and coffee in the morning. Both spaces are impressive with their comfy touches. Laura was a great host by accommodating us at the last minute and the space was absolutely immaculate. Also, there's an apple orchard and the cabin/caboose fits 8 people with two bathrooms-like you needed more convincing. I'll undoubtedly be back! Thank you!

    Lea2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is wonderful place to stay. Both Caboose and Cabin are very unique and we love both of the exterior and interior. I really appreciate that Laura offered this place for me to propose to girlfriend. Our friends also enjoyed staying with us. We would definite come back again in the future.

Beautiful hand built cabin, overlooking Cotton Pond. Ten minutes from Camden, the sailing mecca of the east coast. Solar lights, (we are off the grid) gravity fed kitchen water, gas-hot water outdoor shower, outhouse overlooking the forest. Hiking trails everywhere! Swimming across the road on Hobbs Pond.
Our cabin is placed overlooking a pond, the setting is beautiful, peaceful, and private. The way the cabin is set up, helps you reconnect with a simpler way of life. (Our cabin is not set up to charge electronic devices.)
We love the natural setting, the peace and quiet and the wildlife. We own property across the dirt road, on Hobbs pond, that has kayaks, a canoe and is a beautiful swimming pond.
  • Beautiful hand-built cabin overlooking a pond. Allows you to disconnect and immerse yourself into nature. Perfectly quiet without the background hum of city noise. Would definitely stay again!

    Natalia2020-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is THE perfect spot to get away and recharge. Leave your blow dryer, lap top and worries at home and enjoy living simply and beautifully. The cabin is so thoughtfully crafted from top to bottom and appointed beautifully with heart and attention to even the smallest details. There were fresh flowers by my bed and logs and kindling by the fire. The surrounding woods are beautifully managed, but still wild and wonderful to explore. You can kayak or swim in the nearby ponds (there are two to enjoy!) or just curl up with a book on the porch or by the cozy wood stove. Expect to be serenaded by owls at night and loons and woodpeckers by day, plus the occasional scolding by curious chipmunks! Julie and Steve are so warm and friendly and available to offer suggestions or answer questions. My stay at their cabin was a complete delight from start to finish!

This is an adorable rustic but lux little get-a-way in the heart of Jackson, Maine. There are several cabins built on the property creating winter village feel. We've opened this cabin to winter rentals with the caveat that a guest could potentially wake up on a very cold morning with a temporary loss of water at the kitchen sink due to freezing. However, the condition is usually temporary and just effects the kitchen sink and not any of the bathroom fixtures.
This listing is for the front cabin called the Bird's Nest which is now completely renovated! We are always adding to and fluffing it. Please let us know what your needs are and we can give you an idea if this cabin might be a good fit for your escape. Situated on 10 wooded acres to wander on.... and another 100+ acres down the road with a stream, pond and woods roads for hiking!
Jackson is three miles outside of Brooks and has a little cafe that resources from some amazing local farm foods. Ralphs Cafe is seasonal so check hours. Very centrally located to Augusta, Waterville, Belfast and Bangor.
  • An amazing place for quiet reflection and cozy comfort. The wood burning stove kept everything nice and toasty, but even if we had not used it, it was still warm and comfy inside. It did add a great amount of ambiance though! It doesn't have a tv, but we did not miss it even a little (even my teenage son didn't miss it!). Beds are quite comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean upon our arrival. If you have difficulty climbing, stay in the bed downstairs. But the loft upstairs was so nice and worth the climb up the unique staircase. Jim and Doreen's directions were spot on and they gave us a head's up on any inclement weather conditions. It was a wonderful place to stay and we hope to be back again next year!

    Anita2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cabin tucked in the woods! My husband and I were impressed with the thoughtful details and incredible amount of comfort provided in this cabin. We can’t wait to come back, 10/10!

    Ambrosia2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing spot! You won't regret staying here, we are already plotting our return. Note that nearby Ralph's is not currently open for dinner so you will need to travel a bit for dinner (it's open for breakfast and lunch though!! It's sooo good)!

    Katie2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was perfect for our stay in Maine. It was very clean and quite cozy. It has a homey feel that you don't get everywhere. There was easy communication with the hosts and questions were answered quickly. We throughly enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to stay again.

    Susan2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a sweet spot, tucked away in the woods. The hosts were very responsive and sweet...and the amenities were super clean and fresh feeling. Would definitely recommend!

  • Super great place .. the craftsmanship of the renovations was amazing ..

    Kris2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is amazing. It’s gorgeous, clean, smells incredible, and is just the right distance away from town. My husband and I aren’t very outdoorsy, but we loved it. I think people more outdoorsy than we are would absolutely adore it here. The beds were both so comfy, and the pillows are amazing. The wood burning stove is also great! Love, love, love.

    Megan2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • What an excellent cabin!! Cozy, clean and just adorable! Relaxed by the fire pit and snuggled up for a couple nights for a weekend getaway. Not hard to find at all and great local stores for food and goods. Loved Ralph's cafe down the road. We will be back to visit again for sure! Don't pass up a chance to stay here if you can!

We offer a downstairs bedroom and access to the rest of the house. Usually just a few of us live here; some times there are more or less. House is often being remodeled. While we don't use 'Instant Book,' we will probably accept your request. But do write us a few sentences. It's so much nicer that way. Still interested? Read on.
The home itself is 'rustic'. There will be dust. Cell services are spotty at best. WiFi is rather slow. I'm also sad to write that at this time we cannot accept people with small children. There are often construction projects going on, and in our backyard is a pond, pigs and electric fence; things that are not safe for kids. Not super safe for those who are prone to tripping over/ falling into things either. We know who we are. The guest bedroom is downstairs. It comfortably sleeps one or two. If you really, really want to bring a third person, we can squeeze in a cot for them. If you are super adventurous and want to bring more friends/family, just message us and we'll talk about it. Also, please (please, please) let us know if you have specific sleeping arrangement preferences. If there are two of you, I'll assume you plan on sharing the bed unless you tell me otherwise. I'm happy to set up the cot, but don't make me guess. Darrell and I sleep upstairs unless we are traveling. We sometimes have other guests staying with us. The kitchen is large, with a wood stove and propane heater. The cooking stove is propane. We will provide you some breakfast items (varies by season) and you are very welcome to join us in the kitchen.
The neighborhood consists mostly of trees. They'll let you hug them should you choose.
  • Libby was a great host even though I didn't get to talk much with her. I only had a short amount of time to do a lot of hiking that I wanted to do so I was gone all the time except to sleep. The bed was the best part to me - nice and warm and comfy. I don't think there's heating at night but there's an electric blanket and I didn't get cold.

    Roman2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Libby and Darryl were great hosts, easy to talk to and attentive. Their cozy home is a perfect spot for two people. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook great meals, and Libby was very helpful in pointing out where things were located. The house is intricately decorated with shells and ocean treasures, and contains unique quirky features and artwork everywhere you look. Great cookies and homemade kombucha. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home.

  • Quiet room in a cabin in the woods. Need to get away from it all, then this is the place. It was a little chilly in winter, but the heated blanket made it easy to get to sleep.

    Andrew2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Libby really undersells her wonderful cabin. The room is comfortable and clean and her home is just a work of art by her grandparents who built it. Just a few minutes from Belfast but beautifully rural and quiet. Will definitely be back

    Alan & Jim2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • If you enjoy rustic, quiet places with a working homestead feel, this place is for you. I think it's great- Libby's grandfather designed and built the house and outbuildings himself. It's an unusual design and a really sweet place. The room is good sized, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom is large, clean and there's a big jacuzzi-style soaking tub. I would happily stay here again and I definitely recommend it!

    Andrew2019-12-24T00:00:00Z

    Katie2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Amy’s place is a nice place! I stayed there while visiting family. It’s a modern and simple place that has all the essentials- towels, WiFi, Roku and coffee! I found the place to be sparkling clean. I didn’t interact with Amy but I prefer less interaction while traveling as I’m typically too busy and/ or tired from driving to want interaction. It’s just a few minutes outside of town and easy to find.

  • A nice little spot on a quiet road. Never met the owner, but that was fine, she was very pleasant and prompt with responses through messages. Had everything I was looking for in a small weekend getaway for a great value

They had fresh flowers at home waiting for us (I love flowers), and the studio was super clean! Very peaceful and quiet area! When we weren’t at the wedding venue, my boyfriend and I got to enjoy a couple of drinks while playing scrabble, which was available for us! We would definitely come back!!

  • My girlfriend and I had an excellent stay in this beautiful home! It was perfect for the two of us and served as an awesome home base for all the traveling we did around Maine. From here we easily travelled to Belfast, Camden, Rockland, Acadia state park, bar harbor, Portland and Bangor with ease. Just a few minutes down the road you can find a general store and even a dollar general to get any necessities you forgot! The home was beautifully decorated and the bed was extremely comfortable. Thank you again for the amazing stay!

  • Visiting Colby or in town for any other reason? No need to stay at a hotel. Bernie and Jody offer a warm and inviting space. I only wish I had more time to learn about their farm. Next time!

    margaret2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Bernie and Jody are great hosts and conveniently available to guests. They are quite busy managing their organic farm which we were invited to look around and enjoy a beautiful sunset. The house is full of antique touches and warming aromas that are made to make you feel right at home.

    Michelle2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time I've stayed at Full Circle Farm, and look forward to my next stay there in the future. Bernie, Jody and their family are super kind, welcoming and exceptional hosts; we appreciated the AM coffee and tea as well as mint tea with maple as a nightcap, the opportunity to purchase their freshly harvested produce, and the advice and directions provided for local destinations. Very comfortable and warm farmhouse with a rich family history in a beautiful rural location.

    Betsy2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Full Circle Farm is a century old Maine farmhouse. There is a myriad of rooms that Bernie and Jody rent out as airbnb room as well as rooms for the farm exchange workers. It is full of rustic charm and farm history. There is always something happening at Full Circle Farm.

    Jenny2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a quaint little farmhouse that had just what we needed. We came from Acadia and needed to be in Boston early the next day - this was the perfect location! We stayed in a second floor bedroom with two beds and a private bathroom. If you're looking for a place with frills, this isn't it. If you're looking for a very comfortable place to rest your head and incredible hospitality, you've found the right place! Bernie communicated with us very early on with directions for the farmhouse and was there on the porch with a warm welcome when we arrived. The next day, he provided great recommendations for local breakfast spots. I wish we could have stayed more than one night!

  • We seriously loved this cottage! Katie was such a great host. She was super helpful before hand and during our stay. We loved the size and location of the cottage, perfect for a girls get away! The home was decorated super cute and everything was clean and put together. We loved that there were games to play, we played cards every night! Would highly recommend staying here! We will definitely be back :)

    Kallie2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Katie's place is right on the lake so affords beautiful, relaxing mornings and sunsets. We visited to take advantage of its proximity to the Common Ground Fair—we were vendors, and needed a home base—and this was an easy drive to and from. Thanks Katie, for a peaceful retreat!

    Sean2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome location on China Lake! We enjoyed our stay and walking out on the dock. Very peaceful and cozy!

    Cathryn2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great lake cabin experience. We loved being in the living area and being able to look out into the trees and see the lake. And sitting outside by the edge of the lake at sunset and listening to the loons out on the lake.

    Russell2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay in the cabin, full of thoughtful touches and little amenities that made the stay that much more comfortable. We had fires right next to the lake, cooked meals in the kitchen, played a TON of board games with that fantastic view of the lake as our backdrop, it was perfect!

    Jenny2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful place to relax, no TV but when you come downstairs you have a beautiful view that I just found myself sitting and staring at every morning!

    Jessica2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was wonderful! It was perfect for a weekend getaway! It has everything you need for an easy, comfortable stay and has such a wonderful location. The lake is right at your fingertips, but you can still access the grocery store and a couple of restaurants so easily. Katie was extremely communicative, accommodating, and so helpful with anything that came up. We would definitely recommend her lovely place!

Welcome to a cozy, private, off-grid cabin on our small organic farm and homestead. Nestled on the edge of the forest, with sunny views of our orchard and fields. Farm-fresh vegetables, fruit and meat available seasonally for cooking in a fully stocked kitchen. We are just up the road from Lake St. George State Park, and a short drive from diverse recreational and dining opportunities. We are 20 minutes from Belfast, a small, bustling coastal town. 35 minutes to Camden. All are welcome!
This cabin is truly special. When we moved here, it was a rustic, dark log cabin and it was the only structure on the farm. Last year we decided to renovate it and now it is a beautiful, bright and welcoming space. The cabin has a double bed in a little bedroom nook, a futon that folds out into a queen sized bed, a kitchen table, a desk space and a fully equipped kitchen with a 4 burner stove and an oven. Whereas this space is in excellent condition, please note that it is currently completely off-grid. This means that there is no electricity, running water or wi-fi in the cabin. During the day it is lit by the sun , at dark it is lit by battery-powered and oil lanterns. The bathroom is a clean outhouse 10 feet from the cabin and the shower is an outdoor solar shower on the side of the cabin. There is both a propane heater for your convenience, as well as a wood-burning stove. Upon your arrival there will be 3 gallon water jugs filled with fresh well-water. There is also a water pump 25 feet from the house where you can always refill! This is an opportunity to stay in a comfortable, finished cabin while also taking a moment to unplug from the daily grind.
Montville is a secret gem of a town. Whereas it feels off-the-beaten-path it is also centrally located and within reach of many bustling towns and recreational areas. We live 5 miles from Lake St. George State Park, where there is swimming, boating, a nice playground and grilling sites. We are minutes from several Midcoast Conservancy Hiking Trails. Our farm is located on secluded part of a beautiful country road and if you continue walking or biking down our road, you will come to old, maintained fields mixed with forest and eventually a little bridge passing over the Sheepscot River. Within a 5- 40 minute drive you can access dozens of other hiking trails, biking trails, boating opportunities, several state parks, restaurants, local breweries, independent movie theaters, shops etc. Liberty village is 8 minutes away with the famous Liberty Tool Co., Belfast is 20 minutes with the Belfast Food Co-Op and many restaraunts, Camden Hills area is 35 minutes, Waterville is 35 minutes, Unity and the Commonground Fairgrounds is 20 minutes and Acadia National Park 1.5 hours.
  • Cozy spot for a winter mid coast getaway. Easy access to all things nature and all things small town Maine. Really enjoyed having the quiet and solitude this cabin offered. Maia and Jacob were responsive hosts! Want to come back in summer to see their farm in the growing season.

    Ayla2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect getaway from the city. Quiet, beautiful and simple. A great place to unwind and relax. The cabin is well setup and clean. A definite highlight to our trip.

    Trevor2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was perfect for our short fall trip in Maine! Maia and Jacob manage to offer an off the grid experience that is unique, simple and comfortable, complete with romantic oil lamp lighting, a great collection of books and games, and beautiful views around the property. Be aware that cell service might be spotty in the area. If you think you may need more light, you could always bring your own headlamp. Though we didnt get to meet our hosts Maia was super communicative and provided great instructions for getting there and recommendations nearby as well. Highly recommend!

    Sara2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had the absolute best time at this quaint little off-grid cabin. We cannot wait to return, hopefully for longer next time :)

    Eugenia2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in the little cabin. It was clean, private, cozy + simple. Sitting on the screened porch in the evening and morning was the best part. Super sweet place! Would stay again!

    Courtney Jean2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was spectacular. I loved feeling away from everything else and working hard to be resourceful. It's very nice and cozy and the oil lanterns really do give off a romantic vibe.

Stay on Belfast's New Little River Farm in a well cared for unique 2016 R-Pod travel trailer. Clean, simple, and private. Large, fully-equipped kitchen with running water, full-size bed with a new mattress, propane 2-burner stove, microwave/convection oven, fridge and freezer, high speed WIFI, heat and air conditioning, indoor hot shower, outdoor cedar walled outhouse toilet.
There is a short 80 foot trail through the woods to access the R-Pod from the guest parking area. We have young kids, 2 dogs and chickens. They all make noise. The camper is parked on our property near our home in it's own privately fenced area. We will be respectful of your space but expect to hear the sounds of life around you. We ask that you respect quiet hours of 9PM to 7AM and we will do the same. We will consider families with young children. The kitchen table folds into another sleeping area that can accommodate 1 adult or child, 1 adult and 1 small child, or 2 young children. You will need to bring bedding for the fold-out bed if you plan to use it. If you need a little extra room, there is also room to pitch your tent next to the R-Pod. Feel free to contact us about your needs.
The camper is located on a quiet, paved road in a rural, residential area about 3 miles from downtown Belfast.
  • Staying in Sam's r-pod was a really cool experience. The "pod" was clean and well organized. It just has a comfortable and unique feel. Its close to downrown and yet feels out in the country. I appreciate the eco-friendliness and concern for the enviornment. I would recommend to anyone looking for something a little different.

    Ken2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great option for a private sleeping quarters en route heading north to Acadia! Trailer is a nicely arranged space to enjoy for cooking, sleeping, and sitting around while talking or using mobile devices. Loved aroma of evergreens on paths to trailer and outhouse. Close to center of Belfast, but surprisingly quiet neighborhood for good sleep.

    Carol2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • This Airbnb is better than expected! It’s cute and has all you need! The outhouse is a bit buggy, but much cleaner than anticipated! This family cares about the environment and there are so many details that show this! We loved our time here. The early morning was so beautiful and quiet. It was lovely to sit outside drinking tea while the sun rose. We were grateful for our time here!

    Megan2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The camper was a lovely way to spend a work night! Check-in couldn't have been easier, the camper was super clean and had enough privacy to feel like a mini get-away. I was glad I brought a blanket, but I chose not to turn on the heat until I got up to shower in the am. Glad I brought shampoo, it's listed in the amenities, but there wasn't soap or shampoo in the shower. Overall, a great place for the money and if I come back in warm weather, I'd check it out again.

    Erika2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Sam was very welcoming and the R-Pod is a cool place to stay!

Super clean apartment in a quiet residential neighborhood. The apt. is first floor of a duplex (we live upstairs) with a private entrance and exclusive use of the front porch. The rental apartment has a bedroom, extra room with futon couch, kitchen, and bath. Our home is less than a mile from downtown, Colby College, interstate, shopping, Thayer hospital, Railroad Square movie theater, Waterville Opera house, coffee shops, and restaurants. Thomas College and Inland Hospital are also close by.
Our house is a duplex with two apartments. We live upstairs and the guests stay downstairs. I personally thoroughly clean and disinfect, and wash all bedding and bath laundry between every guest stay. The street entrance and the front porch are for exclusive guest use. And guest parking is on the street directly in front of the house. The guest apartment consists of: -One bedroom with a queen bed which is firm to medium firm. -One room with a table and three chairs, a TV, and a futon. The futon is also the extra bed. FYI the futon is full size, firm to medium firm, and a shorter than a regular bed, less than 6’. -The kitchen includes a stove with oven, a fridge, a microwave, Keurig coffee machine, and a portable dishwasher which we will gladly hook up for our guests. The kitchen is moderately stocked with eating, drinking, and cooking utensils. -The bathroom is small with an old fashioned claw foot tub with a shower (please be advised the tub has very high sides, and one must be able to step up approx. 2 feet to get into tub). And, of course, a sink & toilet. -There is a closet with hangers for clothes.
Our home is in a residential neighborhood which is very quiet most of the time. We are less than a mile from shopping and downtown. Waterville is approximately an hour away from the Camden/Belfast coastal areas, and 2+ hours from Bar Harbor. We are also approximately an hour from Portland and Bangor and 1/2 hour from Augusta, the State Capital.

  • Ann's place is very clean, cozy, and comfortable. It is conveniently located near local restaurants and attractions. We particularly enjoyed the local movie theater, which often shows wonderful independent films. It was really delightful to kick back and relax at Ann's place after enjoying dinner and a movie. Entry is easy, parking is convenient, and all of the necessities are provided. We would definitely stay here again.
