  • A lovely clean and cosy room, perfect for people like me wanting an overnight stay. The location is good and isn't far to walk into the town. Very clean and tidy house all round.

    Dean2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • I’ve stayed at Sammi’s a few times now and it’s by far the best place I’ve stayed! Would definitely return. Lovely family and they make you feel very welcome 😊

  • Lovely brand new home, no "Don't do this/don't do that" notices about, and there is a Spar shop and Co-op within walking distance. There is also a "Thai kitchen" restaurant within 15mins walking distance - bear in mind that this restaurant only take cash, or they send you to the co-op to get cash out!

Newly fitted out to a high standard. Kitchenette, wet room with WC, living room/diner and bedroom with double bed, perfect for a couple or lone traveller. Please note ceilings are low on one side of building with kitchen and wet room. The Saxon hill top town is within 15 minutes walking distance with the famous Gold Hill, Abby Ruins and Park Walk with stunning views over the Blackmore Vale. Off road private parking in carport. On main routes in and out of town. Some traffic noise.
Formally a double garage converted into a comfortable self contained living space with everything you’ll need for a pleasurable stay. Private from the main house with covered parking right outside the front door.
We are walking distance from the small but vibrant high street of Shaftesbury. The town has monthly markets and a great fringe festival in the summer months.
  • We had a lovely weekend stay here. The space is clean, cosy, and well kitted out for its size. Only one note I would add is the ceilings are quite low so you might find yourself ducking if you're a giant like myself, should be fine for all normal sized people though! Would recommend the place to others.

    Joseph2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great value place. The sloped ceiling wasn't really an issue and I am 6ft. Great communication with host. Good kitchen utensils available. Nice stay overall 👍

The property is 4 Miles from Shaftesbury, and 16 miles from the world famous cathedral city of Salisbury.
  • Louis was a great host. The place was well furnished and in a great location. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

    Matthew2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely flat, very clean and all appliances that you would need. Lovely courtyard garden and peaceful environment.

    Sonia2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Louis is very helpful and met us on arrival. The Retreat was very clean and comfortable and is well located for Shaftesbury and the Wiltshire villages. Very much enjoyed our stay

    Peter2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, as other have said- don't underestimate the steps. Getting your stuff down is easy but dragging it back up again was more difficult. Nice to have an oven and washing machine to use should we of needed too and a fridge! Fully read the directions from Louis, took us about 4 attempts going up and down the road continually turning around to find the turning. The image on Google maps is a lie haha other than that absolutely beautiful!!

    Ruby2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The Retreat was a perfect find for us as a base to explore the area a little on a short break. Louis was a very welcoming host and his set up has been very thoughtfully put together, providing home from home comforts. We certainly hope to return again!

    David2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • What’s a place, where to start... Louis welcomed us in person and showed us the accommodation, the communication was perfect from the start to the end. You’ll be amazed by the driveway and the garden, and nothing can beat the view!!! We’ve enjoyed our stay so much, the cat Jess and the dog Dora have shown us the best hospitality in Dorset!! We enjoyed playing with them before going for our adventure! The location is perfect if you want to explore Dorset and Wiltshire! There are a few lovely pubs around, we have tried The Grove Arms where they do yummy food in big portions! The accommodation itself is clean and comfortable, Louis even provided a welcome pack! Thank you Louis for our lovely stay!! Highly recommended this place to anyone who would like to explore the beautiful surroundings!!

    Mathew2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Well appointed self contained accomodation. Beautifully clean and lovely garden to enjoy.

    Rebecca2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Airbnb experience! We were impressed. Spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need and a lovely welcome pack. There are a few steps to apartment but they're not too steep and there are handrails. The little courtyard off the bedroom is cute and when the sun is shining it's lovely to sit there with a cuppa! Louis's garden is very pretty with beautiful views. Ah and Louis's little dog is very sweet and incredibly well behaved.

Modern mid terrace town house in a lovely quiet, private secluded courtyard, seconds walk from the beautiful sites of Gold Hill and Shaftesbury High St with magnificent views across the town.
During your stay you will have sole use of our home, split over 3 floors you will have full use of the ground floor : kitchen, living room, bathroom, conservatory and rear courtyard, and the 1st floor on suite master bedroom, with a dedicated parking space directly outside. Ideal for couples, or a sole traveller looking for a relaxing break, or short stop over. An excellent alternative to local hotels. (very safe for lone travellers)

Our neighbours are lovely and friendly. On your doorstep is a supermarket, post office and numerous coffee shops, independent boutiques and swimming pool.

  • This was our 2nd stay at Andys place so we already knew we could expect a great stay. Once again communication was great, and Andy was very accommodating when i asked on the day of arrival if a later checkout would be possible the following day. The house was very clean and tidy as it was the last visit aswell. We will always be happy to return again, definitely our go to place when needing accommodation! :) Thankyou once again for a lovely stay Andy. Best wishes to you and your family x

In beautiful countryside, this is a newly built cottage on the site of our old Tractor Shed close to our farmyard. Comfortable & cosy. Wander around our farm & garden. Excellent local pubs. Watch the stars. Fantastic place to chill. Organic farm and we sell our own grass fed Red Poll beef and eggs from our wandering chickens.
A modern rebuild of our old Tractor Shed on our organic farm, deep in the county of Wiltshire and near to Stonehenge, Salisbury, Bath and the south coast. If you like the countryside, you will like it here! There's lots to do tourist wise in the area and fantastic walks nearby through this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (official designation!). The accommodation is very comfortable with a 5 foot double bed, ensuite shower room, living room with kitchen area and outside terrace. It has underfloor central heating so is cosy throughout the winter. We have a herd of Red Poll cattle here and chickens roam freely in our fields, barns and woodland. If you like fishing, we have our own trout lake for your use at an extra charge of £30 per half day. If you are part of a bigger party than 2 people, we also have a 3 double bedroomed apartement and another 1 bedroomed one in our lovely garden. We also have bed and breakfast in our 17th century farmhouse. We are busy with the farm and animals but enjoy welcoming guests to this magical spot. If you want to eat out, there are several excellent pub restaurants within 5 miles and Shaftesbury with its many eating places and markets is just 6 miles away. Unfortunately, being right out in the countryside means you need your own transport though there is a main line from London train station at Tisbury 3 miles away.
Cools Farm is in the depths of the Wiltshire countryside. Lots of people pass down to the West Country on the A303 and miss out on this beautiful area. Yet, we are very accessible 4 miles south of A303 and 3 miles from mainline station at Tisbury. We love looking after our cattle and living in a lovely C17th stone farmhouse. We enjoy sharing this beautiful spot with interesting guests.
  • Comfortable stay, beautiful location - very happy here!

    Sarah2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely quaint accommodation, everything you need for a few days away . The Lamb ( Hindon ) was very good for food . Lovely to hear the cows and cockerel in the mornings . Would definitely stay again

    Tracey2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time staying at Cools Farm for a wedding. The bed was extremely comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped (we bought two steaks from the farm for dinner one evening) and Maggie was very helpful, lending us an iron when we needed one. I recommend paying extra for breakfast - it was delicious.

    Hannah2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended for the peace and quiet. The mattress is extremely comfortable. It's a perfect base for visiting the area. We would definitely stay again.

The room is an airy attic room with a comfy double bed and hanging space and a view over the village to the countryside. The bathroom is shared with the host.
The room is at the top of the house (2 flights up) with fairly steep stairs but good handrails. Please note that the bathroom/shower is one floor down. There is a good provision of essentials (including things you may have forgotten) and there are tea and coffee making facilities. A small selection of crockery/cutlery and glassware is also provided ....including a bottle opener/corkscrew. The table is a good size for either working or dining. There is also a small ironing board and iron, hairdryer, chargers and fan. The house is approximately 5mins from the High Street with a good selection of shops and eating places. This is a cat friendly house but they do not have access to the upper floors.
Tisbury is a wonderful village with plenty of shops and a prestigious gallery. In the summer months we have an open air pool which is a short walk away. It is well placed for exploring many historic sites and houses and only 17miles from Salisbury and 50mins from the nearest coastline.
  • A comfortable, cozy and attractive room. Everything from arrival to departure was easy and pleasant.

    Vivian2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely perfect for what I needed and location couldn’t have been better!

    Kerry2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed 1 night. Good quiet place, very nice touch with little bits and pieces for whatever you might need; from hair dryer to paracetamol tablet ... convenient.

    Ehsan2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • The attic room is very cozy and well organised. It has everything you need with even a board game, a music box to connect with your mobile and funny books. Tracy took care for some cute details like a poem of the day and cups for a warm drink-on-the-go. The room is silent, Tisbury is picturesque and quiet with enough places to eat and shop. Tracy was so attentive to check in advance which restaurants were open. We had a nice dinner at The Boot Inn. Shortly: we felt welcome and at home

    Cin2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little place with easy check in and communication. Lots of lovely touches in the room.

  • Lovely, comfortable room, very clean and cosy. Tracy’s communication was great and there were lots of thoughtful touches in the room. Highly recommended...and if you like carrot cake make sure you walk down to Beaton’s. it was possibly the best I’ve ever had!

Our cosy Studio for 2 nestles on the edge of woodland, yet only 5 mins away from Shaftesbury in Dorset. Wake up to bird song, go for long walks right from the door step, explore many nearby attractions, enjoy a meal or drink on the private terrace. It is possible to have a third person staying. Please indicate 3 people when booking and we will make an airbed, bedding and towels available. There is a charge of £15 per night for a third person. Please be aware that the place is small!
This self contained, modern & comfortable studio annex as its own entrance with private terrace and outdoor space. The property sits in an area of outstanding natural beauty, nestled on the hillside on the edge of ancient woodland. The property is set in 1 acre of wildlife gardens in a quiet hamlet just 5 minutes drive from the historic hill town of Shaftesbury on the border between Dorset and Wiltshire. We are located about 1.5miles outside Shaftesbury in a small hamlet on the edge of the woods. The Studio has a very comfortable King size bed (5 feet wide and 6 feet 6 inches long – 150 x 198 cm), well equipped kitchenette, sitting & dining area, a quite small shower room with basin and toilet, and a walk-in wardrobe/storage. Ideal for walking holidays and short breaks. The studio is well located if you want to visit the End of the Road Festival or Larmer Tree Festival. The kitchenette is well equipped, including full size fridge with freezer compartment, oven with grill, 2 plate induction hob, kettle, toaster and extractor fan. The Studio is ideal for individual travellers, close friends or couples (we welcome all couples!). We're also happy to accommodate parents with babies, but you will need to bring your own cot. Please note that children need to be supervised in the garden! There is a 42" TV with Freesat and DVD player, free Wifi Internet connection (although this can sometimes be slow or disrupted because of our rural location - we can therefore not guarantee the internet service) and stereo speakers for plugging in your iPod or MP3 Player. A selections of DVDs, games and books are available. Outside is a picnic table. You can view the many different birds on the bird feeders, stroll around the wild gardens or sit in one of several quiet benches around the garden. Please note that we basically live in the woods, so there is no view from the Studio terrace. However, guests are welcome to stroll to the end of the garden and enjoy some views from the bench. There is a well stocked village store only 2 miles away in the village of Ludwell, a small grocery store at the petrol station 1 mile away. In Shaftesbury you will find a large Tesco superstore and a lovely town centre with interesting shops and cafés including some very nice food shops. There's a market on Thursday mornings. Shaftesbury is famous for its Gold Hill (from the Hovis Bread ad), it's Abbey, historic buildings and the amazing views across the Blackmore Vale. Salisbury is only 35mins drive to the east and Bath an hour north. An hours drive will also get you to some of the most stunning beaches of the Jurrasic Coast. We have created our house and the Studio as environmentally friendly as possible. We have solar panels to help heat the water and Solar PV to generate electricity. Rainwater is collected and feeds the toilets in the house. We use environmentally friendly cleaning materials and recycle and compost. Please help by separating your recyclables from normal household rubbish. The Studio is extremely well insulated and has central heating. Please note: both the central heating and hot water are heated by an air source heat pump. This is a very efficient and low energy system but works on low temperatures. Therefore please wait 10 minutes between showers, as there may otherwise not be enough hot water available. Similarly the central heating does work on low heat, therefore please don't expect the radiators to be piping hot. The temperature in the Studio should always be comfortable. If not, please let us know as the settings may need adjusting. What makes our place unique is the location. You will be right at the edge of the woods. Deer and badgers sometimes visit the garden and we have an abundance of different birds including Woodpeckers, Long Tail Tits, Jays, Song Thrushes and Bull Finches. You will find some wonderful walks (short and long) right on your doorstep. Yet we are only a 5 minute drive from Shaftesbury, Dorset which has an good selections of independent shops & cafés and a large Tesco. You can park free in Tesco carpark for 3 hours and walk into town from there. The Jurassic Coast (Poole, Studland, Weymouth) or Bath are within an hours drive. We run a non-smoking property, but you are welcome to smoke outside. Just leave your cigarette butts in the receptacle provided outside your entry door. We have a dog ourselves, so know how difficult it is to find accommodation that allows dogs. As the Studio is only a one-room accommodation, it is not suitable for large dogs. But if you do want to bring a small dog, please ask and we will consider it. A surcharge of £5 per night for bringing a dog applies. We also have a cat, Misty. She's basically an outdoor cat, but she likes to manipulate guests to let her into the Studio. You should know this if you're allergic to cats, as we cannot guarantee that the Studio doesn't contain allergens. Also if you do not want her in your room, just chuck her out and keep the windows open only a small gap at night, as otherwise you might receive an unwanted visitor.
My favourite thing about living here is that one can go on walks from 30 minutes to 3 hours through the most glorious country side and woodlands right from our door step. Guests always comment on how well they sleep here because it is so quite and how they like being woken up by bird song. You really are in the midst of nature, yet only a 5 minute drive away from Shaftesbury on the Dorset/Wiltshire border. You can walk into town if you wish. It will take you approximately 40-45 minutes through fields and woodland. Salisbury is a 40 mins and day-trips can be taken to Bath, Stourhead, Poole, Weymouth and the Jurassic Coast.
  • I enjoyed my few days away in the comfortable and peaceful space of the eco hideaway. It is beautifully put together, with modern fittings and views looking out on the garden. The town of Shaftesbury is close by, and I especially loved Park Walk. Gabriela and Neil are friendly and responsive hosts who I would highly recommend. Thank you again for a lovely stay!

A homely 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom self contained holiday let on the Dorset / Wiltshire border. Perfect for rest, relaxation and as a base to explore the South West and the English Countryside.
The Farm has been in the family for 3 generations and The Bee House was a fond name for the building where our Grandfather kept his Bee Keeping supplies. Although completely 'Bee Free' now, we kept the name and tradition behind this 2015 renovated self catering cottage. The cottage is entirely self- contained. It's fully equipped with kitchen, linens and everything and anything you may need. We hope you feel that it's a home away from a home. We are next door (completely detached).. so will be there to check you in if required or answer any questions, otherwise you are entirely self contained. Nestled in the beautiful Dorset countryside in the village of Semley, a few miles from the market town of Shaftesbury. It's perfectly situated to explore Dorset, Wiltshire and the South West of England. It's only a short 25 minute drive to Salisbury and Stonehenge or hop on a train and be in Central London within 2.5 hours. Tisbury Train Station is a 10 - 15 minute drive away (we can assist with taxis / pick ups if necessary) Please treat our house as a home away from home. When we're not doing Air BNB our family from out of town stay here.. so please consider yourself a friend with access to DVD's, board games, crib, childrens toys etc. We're happy to answer any questions or help with any needs while you're here. Need a ride / babysitter.. we're happy to accommodate, just let us know. Please note that when calculating your guest numbers - children occupying beds will be charged for at the nightly rate. There is also a sturdy travel cot available with linen free of charge to use for babies and small toddlers. Strictly no pets thank you. Smoking is strictly forbidden inside the house.
Semley village, has a church and a village pond opposite the local pub. Called the Benett Arms it provides real ales and a good variety of home cooked meals. There is also a thriving village shop supplying all your daily needs and local produce. Church farm opposite the church on the village green also dispenses home produced milk for purchase. The ancient hilltop town of Shaftesbury is located 3 miles away. Here you can find numerous cafes, pubs, takeaways and restaurants. The high street has a good selection of shops a post office and a Tesco supermarket. There are many good walks nearby and ordnance survey maps are available for your use inside the house. Wardour Castle and the beautiful National Trust property of Stourhead is just a short drive away. Longleat house and safari park is a great day out with the children too, only 30 minutes away by car. We are also less than an hour away from the coast. The lovely sandy beaches of Sandbanks, Studland, Weymouth and Bournemouth to name a few.
  • A fantastic abode away from home. Highly rate it. Amazing view with lots of amenities.

  • We stayed atJudi's place for 3 nights in February and had an absolutely amazing time. Despite of not the best weather the place provided everythig we wanted, piece, tranquility and outstanding views from the house. Judi welcomed us with a delicious lemon cake and lots of tips on what to do in the area. The place is very cosy and looks even better than on photos. View from the property is outstanding and you can enjoy it over a nice breakfast from the kitchen area or a glass of wine from the living room :) Car is definitely needed. There is a small local shop in 2 mins drive but the selection is limited. If you want to do bigger shopping you need to go to town (10 min). There are lots of nice walks around so you can explore nature and relax. Overall wonderful experience and highly recommended. Thank you Judi and Andre for your hospitality.

  • What a fantastic setting ,wonderful view , the property is well proportioned ,all five of us agreed that we will be paying another visit in the near future , great host , Thanks Judi !

  • What a wonderful five-night stay we had at the Beehouse! We were met by Judi, who showed us around and provided lots of information about Semley and surrounds. The Beehouse is comfortable and spacious, with everything a family on holiday needs, including board games and children’s books. The bungalow has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a nicely appointed kitchen, dining room, spacious lounge and a fabulous outdoor area, which would be perfect in summer. Everything worked as it should, including flawless wi-fi. The Beehouse is surrounded by nature and silence - just wonderful! We spotted pheasants wandering about each morning. The bungalow is a mile or so from Semley village - a really lovely walk. Do visit the local cafe and the dairy. We walked to the Donheads (two local villages) along quiet country lanes (you could take walking tracks but in winter they are very muddy). There is a big Tesco in Shaftesbury (and other supermarkets) for your shopping needs. Finally, the Beehouse is perfectly located for drives further afield, for instance only 30 miles or so from Stonehenge. If you have time, consider walking to Stonehenge from Woodhenge, following the National Trust designated walk. It was an absolute highlight of our holiday.

  • Judi’s place is fantastic - very clean, tidy, and has everything you need including a great record collection. Very nice, peaceful location with nice views. Judi also made us a cake which was a nice touch. We would recommend staying there

  • Lovely accommodation is a really peaceful setting. Judi is lovely and cares about her guests - she even baked us a yummy lemon drizzle cake as a welcome! Would definitely consider coming again, thank you!

  • This is fantastic place with all needed facilities/amenities (and more) and breathtaking views! Location is also great! Judi is an amazing host, quick responder, kind and easy to communicate with. She even left milk and a home made cake to welcome us! We travelled with our 3 month old baby and he slept very well in the cot provided. We shall come back!

  • If you’re looking for a perfect place to stay in a superb location then look no further than The Annex in Shaftesbury. Ruth and Dennis have equipped The Annex to an extremely high standard. It was a pleasure to come home after a day’s exploring and relax in the comfortable, quiet and spacious accommodation. They provided milk , tea, coffee and biscuits to get us started .. and a beautifully wrapped box of chocolates for my birthday. A lovely touch! The Annex is an easy walk into Shaftesbury with its famous Gold Hill. Check out the Shaftesbury Arts Centre for a variety of entertainment. Only a short drive is Sherborne... what a town! ... and of course the Dorset coast. We will certainly visit again. Thank you Ruth and Dennis.

  • An amazing space and an idillic location.

    Rebecca2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Libby's place is way better than the photos show. It is more of a house (or a townhouse) than an apartment. It has it's own separate entrance (the view from the front door looks straight out over the rolling hills of the countryside) and a private garden that is manicured and maintained to perfection. The space itself is an incredible combination of modern amenities in a very stylish country loft. Libby and Angus are outstanding hosts!

You are a short walk from the village shop and from two excellent pubs. There are magnificent country path walks all around Hindon. The historical towns of Salisbury, Warminster, Shaftesbury and Tisbury are nearby. Popular local destinations include Stonehenge, Longleat, Bath, Isle of Purbeck, Corfe Castle, Haynes Motor Museum, Bovington Tank Museum and Monkeyworld.

Wise Cottage is a 250 year old cottage with a boutique feel and sweeping views situated in a beautiful village near Shaftesbury, Dorset. The cottage sleeps four, 1 large master bedroom with a super kingsize bed and a small bedroom with adult bunks (plus a guest bed for a fifth guest). Well behaved dogs are welcome! Organic toiletries, bath robes, well equipped kitchen, wood burner, super fast Wifi, garden, beautiful walks straight out of the front door, use of local tennis club.
** Covid 19 update** We understand the concern you may have about a holiday now and the closure of pubs and restaurants. What we can say is that most of the wonderful eateries around us are offering a take away service, some of them with free delivery, and so you can enjoy restaurant quality food at home, or eaten in the garden (big table and benches). We have added some of our favourites in the 'other things to note' section. There are many National Trust places around us that are open and some are waiving entry fees. Wonderful walks straight out of the front door as well of course. There is a large sitting room with oak dining table and contemporary chairs, a well fitted kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. The main bedroom has an upholstered Super kingsize bed with Vi Spring mattress, high quality microfibre duvets and bed linens. The second bedroom has full size bunk beds. Polished wooden floors, Roger Oates runners, sisal flooring and soft Moroccan rugs make up the flooring in the cottage. The bathroom has a pressurised shower and bath. Plenty of towels are provided as well as an organic soaps and shampoo range. The bathroom is situated downstairs opposite the kitchen. The garden is situated up steps from the cottage, it is probably not easily accessed by anyone disabled or infirm. It is a cottage garden, not highly manicured but with wonderful views in every direction. A table and chairs and a barbecue and tongs are also provided. There is a side access to the garden and it is fenced, so will contain a not overly ambitious dog. There is complimentary use of local tennis courts at Pythouse Club, about a two mile drive from the cottage. Please bring your own raquets and balls! Wonderful Pythouse Walled Garden is minutes from the courts for coffees and lunches. The cottage has a Samsung 32" smart TV with all the catch up services as well as Netflix and Amazon, super fast broad band, a small office with desk. Mobile reception is good, but patchy in the downstairs rooms. There is a wood burner and kindling/logs for the first night or two (bags of logs and kindling are sold at the shop a few yards from the cottage), iPod dock, Roberts radio, smart TV, towels, high quality linen and bathrobes. The kitchen is fully equipped with all china and cutlery, pans, casserole dishes, salad bowls, a Nespresso coffee maker (with coffee capsules!) and there is a supply of tea bags, coffee, sugar, olive oil, flour, herbs and salt and pepper to start you off. We always leave a breakfast pack of fresh local bread, home made jam, butter and milk. A folding guest bed can be put up in the sitting room or master bedroom for a fifth person which is fine for a night or two, but unless a young child, it is not ideally suited for five people.
The cottage is set in the beautiful village of East Knoyle (birthplace of Sir Christopher Wren) on the Dorset/Wiltshire border, amid rolling scenery. The village has an award winning community shop (a few yards from the cottage) and an excellent pub, as well as a playground and endless footpaths through fields and woods for dog walking. You will have guest membership of our local tennis club at Pythouse, a couple of miles from the cottage. If you wish to explore the West Country there are few better places to be situated. The Georgian city of Bath is 20 miles away, Salisbury 17 miles, the hilltop town of Shaftesbury with it's famous monastery ruins and Gold Hill is 4 miles and the Jurassic coast an hour's drive. Longleat and Centre Parks is only 8 miles away. There are numerous stately homes (Longleat being the most famous), castles and gardens within easy striking distance, some a couple of miles from the cottage and superb gastro pubs and restaurants nearby. There is plenty of information in the cottage and suggestions of where to visit, where to eat and where to shop. Just an hour away is the New Forest which is great to explore on foot or by bike. There are maps in the house and you can rent bikes at the wonderfully helpful Forest Leisure Cycling in Burley where there are also loads of cafes, pubs & shops. Flying Experiences at Compton Abbas Airfield - from flying in vintage aircraft and driving classic cars to the airfield for champagne lunch... and flying lessons. Dorset Art Weeks: For two weeks every year (Typically end of May & beginning June) Artists all over Dorset open up their homes and studios to visitors to browse their work, learn about their techniques and inspiration and purchase direct from the artists themselves. There are also two extraordinary contemporary galleries with excellent cafes/restaurants nearby - Messums in Tisbury and Hauser and Wirth in Bruton - both definitely worth a visit.

  • We loved our stay here, the design of the place is great and we managed to see a lovely sunset and an amazing starry night sky from the cosy viewing platform. The homemade bread was delicious, and plenty was provided to make a good breakfast. Perfect space for two people to get away from it all. Would love to come back again!

  • We had a great stay at the NaviHo, Jane goes above and beyond with little touches and the place itself is top notch. One thing to bear in mind that I couldn't spot on the listing is access. We almost brought my car instead of my partner's, and if we did - the roads would've been too tight and some have grass in the middle etc. If you have a sports car or a low car it'll be hairy. Would definitely stay again and encourage anyone else to as well.

    Jack2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time here and would strongly recommend anyone to stay here. Great hosts.

    Christopher2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jane & Neil are really welcoming and friendly hosts, nothing is too much trouble. The Navihoe is spotlessly clean and cosy. You must take time to look at the fairy house, it's amazing. I would recommend taking some slippers to prevent the runs on the ladder to the snug hurting your feet. we will definitely be returning when the warmer weather arrives.

    Mathew2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to get away and chill with some beautiful walks in the country right on the doorstep then you need to pay this place a visit. Jane was very helpful and even offered to pick us up from the pub which is a 20 min walk away and serves amazing food. Well worth a visit.

    Ross2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jane & Neil provided the perfect getaway weekend for my girlfriend and I, nothing was to much trouble and they both went above and beyond to make our stay special. The NaviHo is stunning, unique and set in a breathtaking location. We will absolutely be returning in the summer. Thank you so much!

    Alex2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The NaviHo Apex was just the most pleasant place to spend a few days. Jane and Neil had thought of everything. Very quiet and peaceful, great for nature-watching. We especially liked the reading platform. Just great.

  • Jane and Neil were fantastic hosts. Full of enthusiasm and knowledge of all things natural and we left absolute inspired with hearts full of the social and eco solution their beautifully created house on wheels offers. The accommodation itself offers a wonderfully peaceful sanctuary in most tranquil of settings; our nights sleep was incredible topped only by the immersion of natural light at sunrise shining through the beautiful gothic style windows.

Milk tea coffee bread and other goodies are provided on arrival. The area is extremely quite, no road noise or light pollution! The bedrooms offer one super king and another super king which is zip and link should two singles be needed. There is a sofa bed in the main living room for an overflow. However the cottage is really for four but if your happy we're happy. We aim to give you a first class experience. Towels, robes, hair dryers, toiletries etc are all included. Everything is of high quality so you can relax and enjoy your surroundings. Relax in the warm pool area BBQ on the terrace. Have drinks in the spa! Enjoy. We have now added another cottage for overflow family and guests. Again a very high standard and has its own very large terrace fire pit etc. This is on another listing if you would like any further information just contact me.
The area is mainly dairy farms so beautiful countryside ideal for walks, horse riding etc. We also have shoots locally and can help organise any country activities although booking may be essential for some. The sea is an hour or so away if you want to see the coast. Cheddar Gorge is not far and there are many local activities in the area. Stonehenge is nearby and Wardour Castle and many other lovely places to visit.
  • This was our 2nd visit to Folly Cottage and already planning our 3rd! It’s the perfect place to relax, unwind and spend quality time with family and friends. The cottage and spa are stunning and the surrounding countryside just beautiful. We can’t wait to return again!

    Rachel2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • It's hard to put into words just how spectacular this place is. I will never forget the look on my 5 year old nieces face when she first set her eyes on the pool. We made the most of the perfect temperature water +jacuzzi and sauna and having them to ourselves was just heavenly! The cottage and the pool area are decorated beautifully and it is clear a been a lot of care and thought has been put into every fixture and fitting. As if this wasn't enough the setting is so peaceful and serene, nothing but countryside all around you( and Brian the peacock strutting his stuff around the grounds!!) Easy check in and friendly and thoughtful hospitality, this really is an unforgettable experience you will not regret!

  • Elaine is a wonderful hostess, making our stay at Folly Cottage a wonderful experience. We are already planning out next trip. I would say the cottage would be suitable for both couples as well as families with wonderful open country all around and the use of a brilliant pool area. We will be back again to enjoy the wonderful facilities and some of the group are also planning to bring family down too.

  • We had such a lovely stay at the barn. Rosie has thought of everything and it truly is a home away from home. The little touches such as fresh flowers, games and breakfast just make it even better. The perfect place to stay and our dog loved the enclosed garden where he could say hello to Rosie’s lovely dogs too. We will be back! Thank you Rosie.

  • A cute little place with very comfy bed and a lovely pub just a few steps away. Great for a short stay in a beautiful area.

    Jane2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • 11 out of 10 stars. Fabulous little hide away, impeccably decorated, beautiful personal touches and a delectable breakfast to wake up to. Thank you Philippa - we can not rate you highly enough!!!!!!

    Daniel2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here the night of our wedding (which we held locally); it was totally perfect - a beautifully converted garden loft with views from the bed straight across a garden and to an area of trees and the open sky. All facilities, coffee, fridge, good shower, thoughtful breakfast. Can't recommend enough!

    Joseph2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We can thoroughly recommend staying at the Sparrow's Nest, Philippa was an obliging host who went out of her way to make us feel at home (even after arriving late with a hungry baby!). The accomodation itself was furnished beautifully, spotlessly clean and we were provided with all the necessary amenities. A delicious spread was offered for breakfast, including fresh raspberries, croissants and apple juice from the local orchard. Our only regret is not staying long enough to enjoy the surrounding countryside! We hope to stay again and would recommend to those wishing to stay in the area.

    Harry2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay. The location is beautiful, we went for a lovely walk and ended up drinking the local cider in the pub next door. Philippa went above and beyond and kindly gave us a lift to the wedding we were going to as there were limited taxis in the area. The bed is really comfy and the garden beautiful to enjoy your breakfast.

It was very well equipped even with a Netflix enabled TV and Alexa speaker! Sue had left us some milk and a delicious cake. Check in and out very easy and convenient. Our modern Eco Pod is set in it's own secluded wildlife garden area, giving a true nature experience with all the comforts for 2 people. Only 5 mins drive from Shaftesbury, Dorset, and 50 minutes from the Jurassic Coast. Superb country walks! It's normally set up with a king size bed. The Pod is tiny. Think of it as a two berth wooden caravan. It really just has the large bed, there is no table on the inside, but a small kitchen area with sink and hob.
The Pod is a small compact space built as an airtight structure that self regulates temperature and therefore is very comfortable. It's ideal for couples, close friends or one parent and child. It features a large bed (1.80m x 2.20) under a sloping ceiling, a small kitchenette with 2 burner hob and sink with hot & cold water. Please note that there is no table inside. There is literally just the bed and kitchenette. The kitchen is equipped with all essentials including kettle and toaster. You will also find Organic English Breakfast Tea, Organic Coffee, sugar, salt and pepper. There is decking on the outside which gets sunshine most of the day (when the sun shines). A few steps up is a Gazebo with a table and 2 chairs. This is a great space to have an al-fresco meal and watch the wildlife around the pond. There is a small cubicle with a compost toilet inside the Pod. Some people have commented that it is too small for a tall person to have the door closed. Please keep this in mind. Guests also have use of the separate unheated shower shed with hot water. Please note that during the Winter and early Spring the shower shed is not operating. In that case guests are welcome to use the shower in the main house. There is a summer house that houses a fridge freezer, a small oven, two camping chairs and space to store luggage or wet clothing/shoes. The Pod sits in it's own part of the garden, with 2 wildlife ponds. This creates a lovely, secluded garden area for our guests. You basically have your own little wildlife patch here. Ducks often visit the pond early in the morning. Look out for deer, badgers and pheasants. Because of the ponds our grounds are not suitable for small children.
The Pod is located in a small hamlet 1.5miles outside Shaftesbury, Dorset on the edge of ancient woodland. This is a quiet area and the most you will hear is the occasional dog barking, lawnmower or strimmer. However, don't be surprised to be woken by birdsong and to hear owls and other creatures at night. The local village store 'Ludwell Store and Postoffice' is approximately 1.5miles away and can be reached by foot, car or bicycle. The nearest pub is half a mile and the nearest supermarket 1.5 miles.
  • Kind hosts helped me out with a bit of olive oil to fry my supper!

  • Really thoughtful space, great for a quick getaway. Our hosts were lovely and very approachable!

    Yem2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The pod is really lovely and relaxing! The bed is really big and I had reservations about the compost toilet but it was actually really good!

    Saskia2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place to escape into nature, the gorgeous secluded pod was just perfect for our requirements with the added benefit that it was completely eco friendly! We visited Stonehenge and Bath while we were there, only 40 mins and an hour respectively and also took a short trip to Salisbury and Shaftesbury, there is some wonderful culture and history surrounding this area. The pod itself was compact but still completely liveable for the 5 days we were there with a kitchenette in the pod and a fridge and shower just on the other side of the garden. We were most surprised with how warm it was without any heating, especially if you cook in there. The compost toilet was not as scary as we first thought and we got used to it very quickly, as long as your comfortable with hearing the other person going to the loo as it’s inside the pod! All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it if your wanting to completely switch off and be in nature:)

    Jody2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • The pod is in a very secluded part of the property near two ponds. It is a lovely wild garden with lots of natural wildlife. We both had a lovely time and felt very at home at the pod. The pod itself is very clean and well thought out and it feels very cosy to sit there and watch the natural world around you.

A large and comfortable room awaits you in our beautiful Wiltshire village, in the heart of a Golden Triangle of tourism - easy access to Bath, Salisbury and Stonehenge. Rate is room only, but a continental breakfast can added for £7.5 per person.
We rent only the room, there are no communal areas, however, there is a great village pub not too far away. The room is large and bright and includes table and chairs and there isTV with FreeSat box.
This village is in an ideal location to explore the wonderful countryside and tourist sites of South and West Wiltshire, Somerset and Dorset. Access to Bath, Glastonbury and the coast is straightforward as we are close to the A350 and the A303.
  • Comfortable and nice location in the village. Extremely handy for us as a base to see family and friends nearby. Communication was easy and check in and out seamless.

  • A fresh, clean room with the quirks of an old building but the cleanliness of a new one. Pretty location, spacious accommodation and friendly, helpful host.

  • We were attending a wedding at Ashley Wood Farm and really just needed a bed for the night. The owner Paul was very accommodating and allowed us to check in early, because the wedding was at 2.00pm. There was fresh milk for our tea and coffee in the morning and the shower was good. There is off road parking out the front. We had coordinated with friends who had the other room next door and so were able to leave one car at the b&b and get a taxis back later.

Fabulous private superking 'suite' on top (2nd) floor + private bathroom + quality continental breakfast in my lovely four bedroomed home (shared with two small dogs) where you would be my "paying guests". Easy parking and lovely garden. Great views, dark and silent nights in a friendly and thriving village with an amazing "community" shop, good pub and interesting church surrounded by amazing commons, countryside and many fabulous places to visit.
The house is on the edge of the village. If you are woken in the morning it will be by nearby cows, hens or birds. There are no pavements, street lights and little traffic - so bring a torch if you want to walk back from the pub. I have a large kitchen warmed by an Everhot cooker (like an Aga but more modern) which is the heart of the home and in which you are welcome for breakfast. The house if full of art so please enjoy it and respect it. There is also an electric piano you are welcome to use - assuming you play.
Semley is a beautiful, friendly and thriving village, off the main roads and tucked away in a designated 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty', seven minutes from the famous ancient Saxon, hill-top town of Shaftesbury. The views are fabulous, the village is great (amazing shop and good pub all within a few 100 yards) and Shaftesbury, Tisbury, Salisbury, Stonehenge, Avebury, Wells, Bath, Bristol, Glastonbury, Sherborne and even the coast are within less than an hour's drive. Semley is also the antiques centre of the area (in Station Road) and is now becoming a major axis between two new major contemporary art galleries Hauser & Wirth in Bruton (35 mins drive) and Messum's in Tisbury (10 mins drive). It is also surrounded by amazing National Trust and English Heritage properties,
  • I spent two days in Rosie's house, it was one of the best B&Bs I've been to, the place is sparkling clean, 10 min drive from the station, the near by pub is amazing. If Rosie offered to cook you supper don't say no because her food is delicious, and she is a lovely host to talk with

    Omar2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely enjoyed our stay with Rosie and her 2 adorable dogs! The room is very clean in a lovely home with an extensive art collection and beautiful garden overlooking a vast meadow outback. Breakfast was lovely and Rosie’s hospitality is highly commendable! You’ll definitely enjoy your time there!

  • I travelled from London for a wedding in the Hatch House in Wiltshire and picked Rosie's place as it was the nearest to the venue. I am extremely happy I chose her house as I fully recharged there from London's stress. Rosie was an amazing host from start to finish. She personally picked me up from Tisbury's train station. As a person, Rosie is very welcoming and hospitable which really made my stay so great and special. She is a fantastic communicator and an incredibly intelligent lady who had a fascinating professional career, travelled the world and always had amazing stories to tell including sharing tips and facts about the local places. I adored her two friendly dogs, Daisy and Pickle, too. Rosie's place also exceeded my expectations; I found it much more colourfull, beautifully and tastefully decorated, eclectic and very homey. The place reflects on her many talents and hobbies - garden included ! The garden is just marvelous, beautifully designed with lots of roses and clay pots. I should also mention here that Rosie is a great cook and I was offered some of her amazing orange Seville marmalade for breakfast! Her place is just fantastic - you simply never get bored and are destined to relax and enjoy the beautiful English countryside. I will definitely be back to recharge my batteries, get some fresh air and enjoy her amazing place and her company. It is one of those places you can stay put and be fully content. I highly recommend Rosie's house to other guests. Thank you for having me Rosie ! :-)

  • What a lovely find!!! Rosie’s place is tucked away in beautiful countryside with stunning views and in a really friendly village. Her cottage typifies a country cottage in every sense. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast in her county kitchen with croissants that she freshly bakes. Rosie has lots of interesting stories to tell and gave us some very useful tips on where to eat and surrounding areas of interest. The room was really comfortable, spotless and furnished with good quality bedding. I would highly recommend her place if you are after accommodation that is off the beaten track where you will be warmly welcomed.

Studio (sleeps 2-4) in converted barn in the Wiltshire countryside near the village of Tisbury. The barn is in a (rarely-used!) stable yard at the end of our garden, and is clean, quiet, and modern. It comprises one very large room with a king-size double bed and two comfortable pull-out single sofa beds. There is a separate kitchenette and shower room, and garden access right outside the door. We’re a short walk from a lovely pub, and it’s one mile to the village and its railway station.
The main room in the barn has beds, comfy sofas, space to exercise (including yoga mats and exercise bikes), a pool and table tennis table that fold away, and a projector for watching our big DVD collection. The separate kitchenette has a table that seats 4, with a two-ring hob, small fridge, Nespresso machine, and a combi microwave. The shower room has a power shower, WC, basin. Right outside the door are fields and a garden, and you can use a section of our garden if you want to sit outside in the sun! There’s lots of parking space and the barn is totally private and out of sight of other houses. There is very good mobile signal and a wifi router.
We are a five minute drive from Tisbury, 20 minutes from Shaftesbury, and 30 minutes from Wilton and Salisbury. In Tisbury there is a train station with a direct line to London Waterloo. We’re also a 30 minute drive to Stonehenge. Tisbury is a wonderful village with a world-famous modern art gallery, Messums, as well as several good shops, cafes, and pubs. Old Wardour Castle is a 10-minute drive away and is an amazing local sight. Salisbury is an old market town, home to a medieval cathedral and lots of shopping and restaurants. There are beautiful walks around the local area starting right from the door, and we’ll leave a map in the barn for you.
  • Susie and her family were extremely welcoming and very knowledgable about the area. We had a fantastic time in the large studio, which is just perfect for enjoying the countryside and curling up with a good book at the same time. Thoughtful touches like a projector and excellent music system make it an amazing spot to get away from the hustle of the city. Would definitely recommend!

  • This is a lovely, big and very light space with pretty views of gardens. You can walk a beautiful footpath to Tisbury from the grounds. Susie and her husband were very kind.

  • Susie is a wonderful host. We were met at the property, she gave us tips on things to see and things to avoid as well as recommendations for places to eat and nice walks. Their studio is spacious, clean, bright and very comfortable. It's in a quiet location with beautiful views and very near to a gorgeous village with great amenities. We would happily go back again and again.

    Georgia2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Susie's place, it was in a beautiful location and the bed in particular was very comfortable! We wish we could have stayed longer.

    Kelly2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Susie was an excellent host and was happy to cater to some last minute changes to our reservation. The apartment itself was fantastic, and we spacious and stylish, and is set amongst a beautiful country property.

    Stuart2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Susie's wonderful retreat. The surroundings are peaceful and charming, the studio is spacious and comfortable and Susie and Nick were fantastic hosts - making our stay totally seamless and hassle-free. 100% would recommend.

East Knoyle is the birthplace of Sir Christopher Wren; his father was Rector of the village church. There are a number of notable places to visit which are only a short distance away; Stonehenge, Salisbury, Bath, Longleat Safari Park to name a few. There is a lovely pub in the village which serves great food and is within walking distance (1/4 mile). There are other pubs in the surrounding villages which also offer good food though you will need to either drive there or take a taxi.
  • What a truly lovely host who welcomed us like old friends. This was the best bnb experience we’ve ever had. The cottage was first class, 5 star, no expenses spared. Our stay at the chocolate cottage was made special by a very welcoming Nicola and Ellis and their two dogs. Nicola was very accommodating and is an excellent cook. The vegetarian scrambled eggs were amazing. The cottage was very beautiful and cosy. We enjoyed sitting by the fire and chatting with Nicola and her partner Ellis while watching Donald and Molly play a game of catch around the sofa and coffee table. Nicola really looked after us well and made our stay so comfortable, we will definitely be returning for another getaway soon.

    Preet2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Nicola's house is a very old thatched cottage with a lovely garden in a beautiful place. The rooms are absolutely lovely and the breakfast very good. Nicola is an interesting person and a great hostess. This was an excellent choice.

  • Fantastic place to stay for a night or two. We needed somewhere to stay after a day and longleat it was ideal here, very quiet and comfortable. Host was very friendly and gave us loads of local tips. Also Donald the dog is a very good boy, pat pat.

  • A wonderful place to stay. Nicola is so kind and helpful and provides a very useful map to the local pub. Who could ask for anything more! David and Caroline

The house is a striking property between the railway and the river and a minutes walk from the lovely high street of Tisbury. A former railway hotel, the house has bags of character with bright rooms and high ceilings. The double bedroom is comfortable and light with a King size bed and right next to the bathroom for your convenience. We are still in the midst of renovations but this will have no impact on your stay. You will love the location, the quiet and the green spaces on our doorstep.
The bedroom is at the back of the House and we sleep at the front so you will have lots of privacy. Although we are quite close to the railway there are only two trains an hour and they stop about 11pm. We really don't notice them only sometimes when a vintage steam engine thunders past but that is very very rare. If you open your window you will hear the river down below the house and on a Saturday the muffled shouts of football players in the field on the other side of the river but that is about as noisy as it gets. It really is very peaceful. If there is more in your party than two I have another room listed which I only let to friends travelling together as they have to share the bathroom with you. Let me know if you are interested in also booking the adjoining double room and I will unblock it.
If you are planning to come to Tisbury by train for a weekend wedding or just an overnighter we couldn't be in a more convenient location. Lots of local sights like Messums Art Gallery are within walking distance and Tisbury High Street has a lovely Cafe called Beaton's and a great wine bar/shop called the Bottle Shop. There is also a convenient small Co op and a Boots and the rest are all interesting independent shops including a deli. There are some super places to eat within a five mile radius like The Beckford Inn, Pitt House and Howards House Hotel but a car will be needed (or bike) and reservations advised. If you want to visit Salisbury we are twenty minutes away by train and as the House is so close to the station it couldn't be easier. If you want to you can pick up a coach at Salisbury station to visit Stone Henge, again very convenient and easy. We are just eleven miles from the historic town of Shaftesbury which is always worth a visit and if you want to explore North Dorset and Hardy country that is all within a short driving distance.
  • This is a great place to stay, I have stayed here 4 times since September last year, which is in itself a recommendation. Each time I have been made so welcome by Julie-Ann & George. Though compact Tisbury is a great place for finding delicious or useful and beautiful things. I can recommend Genius Coffee & Beaton’s for food and drinks (the home cooked mini croissant delivered from the oven at Genius on Saturday morning were fantastic!). And excellent locally roasted coffee too. Tisbury Deli is great for different cheeses and other nice things to eat and you can buy a beautiful hand thrown pottery plate to eat them from just a step away from the Deli! I can also recommend a visit to Messums in Wiltshire tithe barn gallery, and the café there is certainly up to the standard of the other places to eat and drink!

  • The best B&B I have ever stayed in - good size warm bedroom , with table, chairs, kettle, books and an adjacent private good size shower room and wash basin; all in private corridor, with provisions ( like soaps and toiletries ) provided. Owners were friendly and helpful. Parking space adjacent.

Dairy cottage is a pretty cottage, situated on the ground floor. There is seating outside the cottage to dine at and access to any of our communal charcoal bbq's. The cottages were all originally old cattle sheds and are situated in a horseshoe shape in front of a lovely grassed courtyard. The laundry room is in the communal laundry area with washing machine, dryer, hoover and mop for guests' use. Just a few steps away from your cottage! Parking in Car park (not directly outside cottage)
There is a step up into the cottage, otherwise very accessible with no other steps inside the property. Bedroom 1 is set up as a super king bed but at request on booking, can be made into two single beds. There is a grassed playground area next to the car park with swing, slide, trampoline and toddler ride ons. Under 12's only on playground equipment. Football nets for older children.
We are one mile from the lovely village of Semley with a shop and a pub. We are three miles north of the lovely old market town of Shaftesbury. Longleat safari park is a 20 minute drive away and the beautiful Dorst coast is accessible within 28 miles. We sit on the Dorset/Wilts/Somerset borders so plenty to see and do.

Terraced house in the heart of Tisbury, just off the High Street. 5 minutes walk to the train station with main line connection to London Waterloo. Two storey “upside down house” with kitchen, bathroom and master bedroom on the ground floor, and open plan family/dining room and second bedroom upstairs. Lovely family home and perfect base for exploring the Wiltshire countryside and many local tourist sites.
Very cosy family house, with good sized rooms. Lovely large family room with 2 sofas, large dining table and a wood burner. Kitchen with all main appliances, two good size bedrooms, and one bathroom. The house is just off the high street a couple of minutes walk from all the local shops and several good pubs. The train station is only 5 minutes walk away, with direct trains to London Waterloo.
Tisbury is a vibrant small village offering the best of South Wiltshire. The high street has a supermarket, deli, butchers, fishmongers, take away shops, cafes, a bar and a couple of pubs. Messums Gallery also a short walk. A short drive to several top country pubs and restaurants. Many beautiful walks, and close to major tourist attractions such as Stonehenge and Wardour Castle.
  • Lovely place, cosy and well located

    Katherine2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The house is located at a quiet small village, but I can find everything there to arrange self catering. I only spent 20 mins to Salisbury’s Christmas market by trains, very close to Tisbury’s train station on foot.

  • Thanks Bella and Matt. We love your house. This is our second stay and I’m sure it won’t be our last. That’s our testimony to how good this little gem of a find is!

Orchard Cottage is a brand new, ground level, semi detached conversion (Spring 2016). It is a modern high spec space with neutral interiors. The kitchen and living space is open plan but still keeping clear defined spaces. There are lots of double glazed windows for maximum light - all with blinds. The bedroom is comfortable and has a large wardrobe for storage. The bathroom has a good pressure shower over bath. We accept a pet on request.
This cottage is suitable for a single person or couple and small child/baby
  • A lovely cottage surrounded by countryside. Everything you need with an excellent shower. Thank you for our stay!

    Rebecca2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Orchard Cottage was larger than I expected and had all I needed for my stay. The location is peaceful and in beautiful countryside yet only about 10 minutes from Shaftesbury. Parking is easy and close to the cottages. I stayed alone on my visit and would recommend Whitebridge Cottages for all, be they single, couples or families.

    Graham2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • These Cottages are in a really good location with access to the local village just a short 1 mile walk away, with a nice pub and village shop. Shaftesbury and Gillingham within easy reach. The cottage was very comfortable and I enjoyed my stay.

    Mary2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Clean little one bed cottage, with a well laid out living space, TV and all the necessary things to cook with. Free eggs too which were lovely! With a laundry room if needed. The welcome pack also gives you an idea of near by places to visit, eat or local Takeaways. We recommend the Indian! Annabelle was lovely and it as a dog lover it was nice to meet Pippi. With no noise from the neighbours you really feel like you're in a separate little cottage.

    Charli2018-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cottage, very clean and friendly reception from Annabelle. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Orchard Cottage. Thank you!

  • Whitebridge Farm was a fantastic find. 10 minutes drive to Shaftsbury and then a perfect location to explore the surrounding counties. Annabelle and family (including Pippi the dog) are lovely and made sure we had a comfortable stay, from a well stocked kitchen to the complementary eggs from their chickens. Great for runners and walkers, lots of scenic routes from the farm or a short drive away. Recommend going to Semely for a drink at the pub and trying the locally produced milk (only one mile away). Highly recommend.

Milton Farm is situated in a very quiet Hamlet near East Knoyle and is surrounded by beautiful farmland and woodland. Ideally located to explore Bath, Salisbury, Shaftesbury and Bruton. Stourhead Gardens are 10 minutes away and Stonehenge is a short 20 minute dash up the A303. The Jurassic coast of Dorset is under 1 hour to the South. Some excellent local pubs offering fine Ales and food are within 3 miles, one of which is within walking distance.
There are 2 double bedrooms sharing 1 bathroom .
  • English is not my first language... everything was so lovely!!! A warm welcome, helping with any questions, wonderful cosy and very clean rooms/bathroom. The breakfast so delicious. We wanted to try everything but it was far to much and fruits on the top. It could not have been better! 5*plus!!! Thank you so much!

  • James and Deb are amazing hosts! The house is located at the farm in such a beautiful countryside, the views from the windows are splendid, the sitting area with fireplace is super cosy, the beds are very comfy, and the breakfast is unbelievable (cooked using the local produce!) and the whole place is super stylish. The rooms have kettle and section of tea/coffee/biscuits and also a bottle of water. The bathroom is super clean and there are so many bottles with shampoo/body wash/creams etc! James booked a table for us in a local pub and we enjoyed tat very much! We only stayed for on night, but this place is so good, we would like to spend more time in this wonderful place. The farm is very close to Stourhead gardens (15 minute drive). On the next day we went to Bradford-on-Avon, which was also quite close (25-minute drive). Thank you one more time for the outstanding hospitality!

Stable Cottage is a lovely airy one bed cottage sleeping two people, overlooking a pretty grassed courtyard at whitebridge farm. There is a light open plan kitchen and living area, with a double bedroom and bathroom (shower only).
This is newly decorated space which is perfect for a couple or a single guest. We can provide a travel cot in addition for a baby to stay, or a camp bed for an older child. This can be put in the living area
We are one mile for the lovely village of Semley, with a shop, cafe, pub, church and school.
  • We had a great stay and would definitely recommend this and the other properties on site (assuming they're all of same standard). Check in / out was super simple with the key left in the door for us and vice versa, and we were upgraded to a larger cottage. The cottage was clean, comfortable and well kept, and the heaters kept the rooms warm now it's getting a bit colder at night. The layout of several cottages around a central green works well and felt peaceful for it. There's also a secure field if your dog needs a run around, v handy. The location is ideal for the surrounding areas, including Stone henge. There are many beautiful areas with in a 30min drive, if not much nearer. The farm cottages are located close to the main road but traffic noise wasn't a problem. It was a quiet location and relaxing for it.

  • Exceptionally clean, comfortable and modern cottage in a lovely setting-ample parking and convenient to main road to Shaftesbury town and Semley village (cracking little local shop here!) with no traffic noise whatsoever. Very enjoyable 2 night stay thankyou!

  • A really lovely setting for a nice quiet get away. Annabelle was a great host and although we didn’t meet her, the communication was as though she was there, very friendly and very helpful indeed. I’d definitely recommend staying with Annabelle and if we’re in the area again we will do I’m sure.
