The house is fairly new and in a very safe neighbourhood. It is about three km from town and close to Grammar Secondary School. The room is available for short term rental as well. As I am single, I prefer single ladies or couples to stay at my home.

    'The Artisan BnB' is a part of our home which is set in 2 acres of bush garden on the outskirts of town with private drive and garden access. The 2 bedroom spacious unit contains a lounge and dining area with a well appointed kitchenette. Heating is provided in all rooms with a ceiling fan for summer heat.The bathroom has a bath, shower recess and separate toilet. There is a pleasant outdoor sitting area where guests can enjoy the gardens and birds while having a quiet coffee or glass of wine.
    A pottery studio is also part of the property and one on one tuition can be arranged with the artist. Your hosts John and Margret both retired [forester/ tour operator in the High country and art teacher] have lived in Maffra for many years. They are involved in the local art scene where Margret has been creating and exhibiting her unique ceramic sculptures and pottery. Their home displays original art works including that of local artists.
    Maffra is a small country town 3 hours from Melbourne off the main Princes Hwy located in the heart of a dairy/ timber/ vegetable growing community. It is situated within easy access between the ocean and the High country, thus providing a variety of activities to the outdoor enthusiast such as boating/ snow skiing/hiking/4 wheel driving. Maffra is home to a large Motor Museum and sporting facilities. Each year a Festival is held in March to raise funds for local organisations, as welll as a large tennis championship competition at Easter. The town is well known for its golf, football, netball and gynasium facilities and competions. There are some excellent coffee shops in town, as well as several boutique wineries nearby with a wine and food festival held every year at Tinamba 10 minutes away. We are situated only a few minutes from the historical Duart Homestead restaurant and reception centre. The annual Maffra Show is held every year in October. The City of Sale, centre of the Wellington Shire, is 16 kms away with an active cultural scene, a theatre and brand new regional art gallery. There are many cafes and restaurants to tempt the visitor, as well as many sporting facilities.

  • Marg and John were fantastic hosts. Easy to deal with and kind enough to take some time to show us their varied art collection. Located far enough out of town to be nice and quiet and the garden beds out the door were lovely. The space was clean and plenty of room for the family (3 of us) and good amenities with delicious locally sourced honey and marmalade’s too. If you like a homely feel for your stays, you can’t go wrong with Artisan. :-)

    Upmarket accommodation for the more discerning! King bed in lovely surrounds with luxury ensuite and private lounge room TV & heating. Guests enjoy the adjoining private dining room & open fire. Firewood is unavailable but can be purchased from any service station. Kitchen is in the rear section and not available for guests use unless requested. A 2 min walk to Lake Guthridge & Botanical Gardens. The hospital only a 5 min walk and 600 metres will get you to the CBD. Come enjoy the ambiance!
    A unique accommodation area in that you actually have the private use of half the house. The front entrance takes you directly into the hallway where you have an opulent bedroom with kingsize bed awaiting you with your own imposing ensuite and hanging space. Double doors off the stately lounge and television room with gas heating take you through into the upscale and funky dining room with your own fridge, microwave, tea, coffee, basic condiments etc. This room has an open fireplace, perfect for cold Winter nights as well as central heating throughout. As described by a friend....this room just makes me want to curl up and read a book! You are most welcome to do exactly that :)
    Lansdowne is a tree lined street straight off the highway and close to all amenities but has to be one of the quietest streets in Sale! CBD, hospital, gym, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, the imposing Lake Guthridge and adjoining Lake Guyatt are all within a few minutes walk. The Sale Botanical Gardens are awe-inspiring with native flora and fauna in abundance. They are well worth a visit and we are lucky to have this impressive tourist attraction. A couple of hours will get you to Melbourne City, closer is the Lakes District, Seaspray and Golden Beach - part of the the 90 mile beach, the snowfields and the mountains. The Port of Sale is the gateway to the Wellington Lakes and further on to Lakes Entrance. The wetlands is a nature walk that takes you through to the historical Swing Bridge.

  • We stayed at Robby's house for 5 nights. Robby is a very nice lady and a great host. Her place is really luxurious sanctuary for a couple who want to have a nice holiday break. It is beautiful, very cosy, spacious, clean and warm. Very comfortable bed and excellent amenities. Large bedroom with en-suite, spacious lounge room and beautiful dinning room with large table. Although there is no kitchen (it is private) Robby was very kind to allow us to use it when required and was caring about us and making sure that we always have clean dishes. Great location! Her house is located very close (just 5 min walk) to the lake and Sale Botanic Gardens. It is also very close to the Town Centre, shops and even public transport if required. We would love to stay here again!

    This is a 1 bedroom self contained unit, it is the bottom story of my house but it is not joined to the main house via any stairwell so you have complete privacy. It has a big yard and a good parking space. Situated on the edge of the township but still only a short walk to the town centre. With wetlands on the back doorstep you are sure to catch a beautiful sunset. If you are looking for an extended visit please contact me as I can negotiate a price!
    You will have a bedroom, kitchen and dining space, bathroom and lounge all to yourself. The house is walking distance to the Main Street, the tennis courts, the football oval is within view and a scenic walking track right at the back doorstep

  • Very comfortable place to stay. There is a walking trail is which is accessed from the back gate. Nik is very friendly and really enjoyed staying at his place. This is a great place for value for money, it is a renovation extension of the basement of the main house and is accessed completely separate from the main house. You can slightly hear some walking steps and opening of sliding doors from upstairs but this is not an issue at all. The windows of the basement look straight out to the back yard but be assured your privacy would not be distributed as Nik does not enter the backyard without notifying you when the basement is occupied so it feels like the whole backyard is yours. Previous comments of his beautiful and nothing but friendly dog is very accurate and you will surely fall in love with him. Perfect opportunity for anyone who is not very confident with dogs and would like a good chance connect with dogs. Otherwise just let Nik know and he will keep Chase the dog inside his home and away from the basement. This is not a brand new 5 start hotel room though be assured is has almost everything you need and can easily access your paid TV services via the smart TV and can also enjoy a game of monopoly which is available in the TV cabinet. Would definitely book again if traveling back to the area.

Nik is very friendly and responsive, the space is clean and tidy, the den is cozy and full of pillows and blankets, and the views of the wetlands and fields beyond are incredible. Dog lovers will enjoy an added bonus - the pup upstairs is always ready to play (but is also very quiet - we never heard a peep after dark). Will definitely stay again on future trips!

We stayed in the rainbow cottage and the hosts provided everything we could have asked for, from a beautiful brekkie to old towels to help clean my dog after he rolled in cow poo! The high light for me was seeing our dogs enjoy the accommodation as much as we did, with so much room to run around and new dog friends to play with. Will definitely recommend to everyone

The breakfast supplies and fresh fruit is such a wonderful touch. The big windows allow such a lovely view out across the farm. Our backyard tends to be a crowd favourite with a large entertaining area with chiminea & large deck by the pool. The Private room has a comfortable queen sized bed with private bathroom and continental breakfast is included.
    We are located on a quiet residential street in the town of Sale that is a great stop for people travelling down the east coast of Australia or looking to explore Gippsland. We are 5 minutes from the main shopping areas, cafes and restaurants with a small supermarket only 5 minutes walk away. The larger supermarkets like Coles, Woolworths and Aldi are all only a 5 minute drive away. We are 5 minutes from Lake Gutheridge and the start of the wetlands and we have 2 bikes that you may borrow to help your local exploring. There is much to do in Sale including: - Port of Sale - Fauna Park, Lake Gutheridge and wetlands - walk or cycle paths. - Swing Bridge - The Wedge - Entertainment Centre - Art Gallery - Cinema - RAAF base - home of the Roulettes Surrounding Area: As mentioned we are extremely close to natural beauties including: -90 Mile beach (20 minutes away) - Rivers and Estuaries - Blue Pools and Quarries - Tarra Bulga Rainforest - Yarram/Port Albert - Wineries including the Avon Ridge Winery and Blue Gables Vineyard - Paynesville/Metung - Just over an hour from Lakes Entrance
  • We arrived at over 40 degrees and were able to refresh ourselves in the pool. Our room had a super comfortable bed and everything you need. The private bathroom was best equipped and although it shows minimal signs of wear and tear, it will soon be renovated. In the kitchen we had our own fridge, which was already filled with the most necessary and there was everything for a breakfast to prepare yourself. Ronnie and Dave are very courteous and warm people. We felt very welcome and welcomed into the family. We received many tips, were allowed to have dinner and take part in a boat trip. In Sale there are plenty of shops, a lake with a nice walk around (there are hundreds of fruit bats on the small island) and a very nice circular route in the Wetlands (10 km from the parking lot, 15 km from the port or apartment), which can also be accessed by bicycle , Here you pass the old "Swinging Bridge", which turns quite rarely. We enjoyed our 3 days stay very much and would come back anytime (if the journey from Germany were not that long).

It is not far to the 90 mile beach. Again, a great way to enjoy a cafe and sea views. On our onward journey from Lakes Entrance to Wilson Promontory just the right stop! We would like to come back!

    My place has two rooms. This one is very special because double doors open to the garden and windows on another wall view the garden. A mirror in the built wardrobe/dresser also reflects the garden vista. Polished floor boards with a lovely, big rug creating warmth around the bed. Indoor plants and charcoal drawings of local River Red Gums finish the room. Heavy curtains means a dark den for a sleep at any time of day.
    Happy to point you in the direction of local bush walks and water holes, etc. Can prepare a freshly ground coffee bean beverage on request!

Right in the heart of the small town, walking distance from local shops, opposite park, behind school (although not important however good time is when school is out) real quiet place, you’ll be left alone to relax and enjoy with family or friends. Caters to the max of 8, slept peacefully and if it’s budget you’re looking at then look no further. Clean, and so much space to make use of. Rooms were also nicely presented etc. Did a bit of sightseeing and made it to coongulla as well as Lake Glenmaggie only 15 min drive which is a must! Overall 10/10.

    Our recently renovated waterfront cottage has magnificent views across the lake and the Glenmaggie Creek. This two bedroom cottage is well equipped and perfect for all seasons; including a fireplace and air-conditioning. The extensive deck overlooks the water and provides an elevated outdoor area for relaxing, cooking or daydreaming. The cottage is located on a quiet, exclusive crescent away from crowded areas, with a boat ramp and safe swimming area close by.
    Our cottage is well equipped with basic condiments, tea and coffee, bathroom and laundry soaps provided. Bedroom and bathroom linen is of high quality. Parking is available on the street, or off street parking for two cars.
    Glenmaggie area is famous for its fishing, water-sports, local wineries, spectacular bush-land and pristine mountain views. Local towns offer art galleries, music and theatre productions and a variety of restaurants. We provide some guest information of the best things to do in the area.
  • Trev's Cottage has been tastefully renovated for your next get-away. The view from the deck overlooking the Glenmaggie Weir was enhanced by the prolific wildlife, including strikingly beautiful Red-tail Black-cockatoos.     We offer a clean and comfortable bedroom in a shared family home. The home is centrally heated, has NBN WiFi & the shared space consists of a large lounge with TV. There is fridge, freezer, pantry space for you with full use of cooking facilities available. The room is 1500m from Central Gippsland Health Service, a short stroll to the Lakeside Bowls Club & Bistro. Nearby is a Foodworks supermarket, Aqua Energy, Lake Guthridge, playground & Botanical gardens.
    The home is a the end of a court so traffic noise is minimal, there are four quiet neighbors so you will have a restful night's sleep. We love gardening and sharing vegies and fruit in season. The home is fully carpeted so leave your shoes by the front door and let your toes go free. Your room has ample drawer and built in wardrobe storage space useful for longer stays. The shared space consists of a large lounge with TV, dining, kitchen and a table tennis table for guests to use.
    Our property is near the end of a no through road, in a court. Therefore the only traffic is local so it is very quiet. There is a supermarket just a couple of minutes walk away, you will pass it on your way in. To walk around the lake from our home takes about an hour.

    A unique accommodation area in that you don't just have a funky bedroom but an adjoining lounge area to relax and watch television (with Netflix) on a leather pullout Sofa bed with a very comfortable inner spring mattress. Perfect if four are travelling together and don't mind sharing the space. Price adjusted when more than two people.
    Use of the kitchen is available with microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge space. Basic condiments and breakfast are available if required. The luxury bathroom is shared unless the Forest Room is free then the bathroom is all yours.
    Lannsdowne is a tree lined street off the highway and close to all amenities but has to be one of the quietest streets in Sale! A 2 minute walk to Lake Guthridge and Botanical gardens,the hospital only a five minute walk and 600 metres will get you to the CBD. Twenty minutes to the magnificent coastline with the Wetlands a stunning nature walk that takes you through to the Historic Swing Bridge.

  • This place is just beaut. The farm is so green and peaceful, and the person we met (which wasn't Nicola) was very kind and friendly. The two dogs were so happy and loving. They snoozed with us and joined us for walks along the creek, going for big swims. The place is really well equipped with towels, bathroom products and breakfast ingredients (which were re-stocked each day) and the Wifi and Foxtel was great. This is the best place we've stayed yet!

    An eclectic styled space in the back section of the house that has a chest of drawers and hanging space if you require, a funky little Edwardian Settee and a great vibe. TV is available in the common area with viewing just for you from the Cougar Couch. The deck at your fingertips has a BBQ for your use that allows you to enjoy the courtyard area. A must for balmy nights..A microwave, kettle and toaster, fridge space and a breakfast tray with the basic condiments are set up for your ease. Feeling comfortable is a must as other guests may be sharing this kitchen space with you, however they have their own television viewing area.
    Lansdowne is a tree lined street straight off the highway and super close to all amenities but has to be one of the quietest streets in Sale! CBD, Hospital,gym, indoor and outdoor pools, the imposing Lake Guthridge and adjoining Lake Guyatt are all within a few minutes walk. The Sale Botanical Gardens are awe-inspiring with native Flora and Fauna in abundance. They are well worth a visit and we are lucky to have this impressive tourist attraction. Around three hours will get you to Melbourne City, closer is the Lakes District, Seaspray and Golden Beach, only a 20 minute drive.The Port of Sale is the gateway to the Wellingtom Lakes and further on to Lakes Entrance. The Wetlands in Sale is a nature walk that takes you through to the historical Swing bridge.

    This sweet, self contained cottage is adjacent to the Avon River in the small heritage village of Stratford. Famous for its Shakespeare on the River Festival, Stratford is accessible by road or train or by bicycle on the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail.
    .The riverside cottage is a separate cosy historic cottage adjacent to our newly built eco home - which is straw bale with earth floors which is set in our permaculture garden. Th cottage is comprised of two main rooms plus the bathroom/toilet. The bedroom is a comfortable space with a queen sized bed, clothes hanging space and bedside lamps. The lounge incorporates a kitchenette with table and chairs and a comfortable leather couch to sit and listen to CDs or read one of the books from the cottage collection. The kitchenette has modern appliances including a bar fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. Teas and real coffee as well as condiments are provided. At our doorstep you will find the Stratford Arts trail, which is a delightful 3km walk along the riverbank. It incorporates eight sculptural installations inspired by Shakespeare and created by Gippsland artists. Among these are the Garden for Humanity and the All Abilities Heritage Trail. Stratford has a diverse and cutting edge arts theatre and music community. Nestled at the foot of the Victorian Alps it is a great base for bushwalking, winter snow frolics and for accessing the magnificent Gippsland Lakes. The Knob Reserve on the edge of town overlooking the Avon River flood plain is of great significance to local local Gunaikurnai aboriginal people. In the cottage you will find maps and information about the rich diversity of local attractions. The village of Stratford provides for your every need, with cafes, specialty shops and galleries, country bakery and butcher as well an IGA supermarket and a local pub.     Stratford is the Gateway to the Gippsland Lakes tourist area and the Victorian Alps National Park. There are so many local attractions that it is difficult to list them all. We provide lots of local maps and brochures for guests to refer to. Rather than trying to list everything here, guests are invited to ask us in advance for local information on their particular interests whether that be bird watching, bush walking, playgrounds, pool and river swimming, sailing, beach surfing, fishing and swimming, cycle paths, antique and recycled goods, local craft, music and theatre events, restaurants, river cruises, history or aboriginal heritage.

    NOTICE OF TEMPORARY CLOSURE Due to the current circumstances regarding the coronavirus, I am reluctantly closing the Yurt until it is safe to interact with visitors again. I have medical condition that puts me in the highly vulnerable category and have decided to stay isolated until further notice. The Yurt will then become available again and the first month's prices will be discounted to all visitors who stay for two or more nights. Stay safe and I look forward to sharing this space again.
    This double glazed yurt is shady and cool in summer with a wide verandah surrounding 2/3rds of the building and a split system air conditioner inside. There is wheelchair access to all areas and a ramp from the car park to the front doors. In winter, with the low sun and round shape of the yurt, you will enjoy sunshine in your north and eastern facing bedroom throughout the day. The gas "log" fire will keep you warm and cosy in winter. Although this place will be great for you if you have a natural compatibility with dogs, you will enjoy a private dog free garden on the eastern side. Although there is one bedroom with one double bed, the living area can accommodate two more people if needed.
    Sale has some great eating places with more opening up all the time. There is Thai, Japanese, Mexican, Asian, Indian, Italian, Peruvian and Modern Australian. Three different style of pubs, a performing arts centre, with al fresco dining and great food with a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan choices. The local swimming pool and gym is set on Lake Guthridge which also is popular for exercise and dog walking. The walk includes outdoor gym equipment and passes through the botanical gardens with free roaming peacocks, pea hens other wildlife. The historic swing bridge that opens at certain times on weekends to allow boats with tall masts to pass up the Thompson river into the Port of Sale is a great place to walk to via the river walk. On the 3rd Sunday of the month, there is a riverside Variety Market with a large selection of local stall holders as well as the travelling ones.

It is so cleverly private and tucked away - and yet everything you need is close by. Sally was a great support to us while in Sale for a family milestone celebration. It would have to be THE BEST AIRBNB ACCOMODATION I have experienced, and I fell in love with Kelly and Bonnie too! You really need to check this healing space out for yourself. Sallys Artistic talent wraps itself around you, and so much of what she provides/uses gives something back to the less fortunate communities in the world.
