Places to stay in Taylorsville

Places to stay in Taylorsville
Our Taylorsville house is a historic (1914) two-story country home located in a mountain valley in the northern Sierras. We are a 30 minute drive from Quincy to the south and Lake Almanor to the north. The house is right in the town of Taylorsville with easy access to services. Fall color season is coming soon and our prices are reduced so book soon!
Our house and yard are fairly spacious and could accommodate 2-3 more quests, especially children, if those guests can be flexible in their sleeping arrangements (i.e. couches, sleeping bags, etc).
Cycling, hiking, fishing, swimming are all nearby in abundance. Taylorsville is a charming small town with a gourmet market, tennis courts, campground, swimming pool, and Indian Creek just a short walk away. Summer is filled with cycling events, rodeo, music festivals. Numerous lakes dot local mountain tops. Many historic buildings are still around and in use by the local folks. A lovely nine-hole golf course is just 5 miles away.
  • Definitely a beautiful location. House was very beautiful! Will definitely stay again!

  • This is a really nice place to stay at if you're looking for a relaxing weekend.

    Paola2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer's home exceeded expectations! It' such a beautiful area and a perfect cozy home. We stopped in on a road trip between Death Valley and our house in Oregon-- if we would have known what an awesome area it was and what a wonderful home we would be staying at-- we would have planned a longer stay! The luxurious soak in the claw-foot tub was a definite highlight and we loved all of the country/vintage style decor that made it clear that it was such a loved space. We plan to return over the summer to enjoy the area and the space more thoroughly!

    Haley2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place was everything we needed plus some! Jennifer was extremely helpful and informative!

Built In 1926, the Hough House used to be the warehouse for the village store until we renovated it in 2019. I love the high timber ceilings and great views of Mount Hough, especially when it has snow. The house is in the village of Crescent Mills (200 people) at an elevation of 3500' and looks to the mountains at around 7,200'. It is perfect for a weekend getaway to the mountains and is conveniently located behind Gigi's market, a popular cafe and coffee shop.
The house has a large main room with 13' timber ceilings with two bedrooms, each with their own new bathroom. The kitchen is huge and the breakfast bar and bar stools came from the old hotel next door. I like how it combines the rustic feeling of old timber with the convenience of modernity. The living room has a massive 8' x 8' window looking out on Indian Valley and the Mt Hough.
Crescent Mills has a golf course. Taylorsville (10 mins) has a rodeo and museum and swimming pool. You can go shopping in Greenville (6 min) or Quincy (17 mins). Lake Almanor (20 mins) is fun for water sports and Mount Lassen Park (45 mins) has geysers and volcanoes. The apartment is behind Gigi’s Market which is a popular cafe and coffee shop and across the road from Crescent antiques. Hiking and biking are great. From the house you can walk up the hill and find old gold mines, or drive up Mt Hough and go mountain biking or visit Crystal Lake (the most beautiful place I have ever visited).
  • This was a very comfortable spot. Wish we had been able to stay a little longer.

    Stephen2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in the middle of the "Lost Sierras" in plumas county. Right behind hold hotel and local sandwich hangout. Beautiful location for relaxing stay. Hikes and scenery in all directions. 4mi to full grocery store in Greenville, 7mi to local gourmet market in Taylorsville, 20 min to county seat at Quincy.

    Jason2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Hough House! The cabin was cozy once the fire was going, and the surrounding area is beautiful. Ginger and Tommy at the deli next to the cabin were very friendly and helpful, and their smoked meat was incredible. We hope to come back again soon!

    Judith2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed three nights and had a wonderful time. The house is very cosy and well equipped, there is everything you need for cooking, which we really appreciated! Next door there is Gigi's Market, a café that serves ribs and brisket who's owners are super welcoming. We spent a lot of time there just chilling and chatting. There is a nice hike to a lake starting right in front of the door.

  • Very nice place, awesome location in the middle of mountains, very good views from the backyard. would definitely recommend

This is a 570 sq ft building with BR, BA and living room. The inside was rebuilt in 2018. Outside siding is vinyl and will be replaced in 2020. It is located in Indian Valley which is beautiful. Lots of deer, turkey, and bear. We rent only when we are in the main house or when our caretakers are there. The kitchen has a coffee and tea maker, refrigerator, hot plate, electric skillet and microwave. We added a new cabinet with sink. When we are there we can arrange to provide breakfast.
There are a few projects still to finish on the outside but the inside is finished. Heating is electric heaters. Portable AC but summer nights are in the 60s.
We are 12 miles from Lake Almanor, 5 miles from Round Valley reservoir. We can guide for birdwatching or tell you where to go. Bicycling is very popular around the valley.
  • Our favorite Airbnb rental in the whole area. Ted and his lovely wife Lorraine even bake us treats everytime we come. Can't get enough of this place!

    Alexander2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect spot if you want to get away and quietly meditate. Spectacular scenery right out the window. Very comfortable - I was especially grateful for the supportive mattress. We contemplated staying a second night and will certainly try to get here again someday.

    Tisha2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • I read that Ted's space was cozy -- and that it was! It was exactly what we needed after a cold weekend of camping. The house was stocked with all sorts of snacks, and Ted brought over scones in the morning! So special.

Discounts: Solo traveler, 15% off. Winter discounts: Stays of 3 nights, 15% off and 4+nights, 20% off Please indicate how many guests are in your party & be aware that if there are more than 2 guests, there is an additional guest fee. If you have last minute fellow travelers, please come to my home right next door & we can work out the additional costs. Due to creek, no children under 12. No pets.
Creekside is located in the Sierra Nevadas, along Highway 70. It is 2.5 miles from East Quincy and 6 miles from downtown Quincy. I think you will find the home a welcoming place to relax. This home, where I grew up, is surrounded by the Plumas National Forest. And it is actually one of the most economical places to stay in town, for this is a town where a spartan motel room costs about $85. WHAT CREEKSIDE HAS: A friendly creek that runs year-round and also runs right past your back deck. It has deer and foxes and turkeys and squirrels and wonderful songbirds and, yes, there’s even a chance you’ll see a California black bear but, in fact, it isn’t likely. In the 6 years I’ve been hosting, only 1 guest has seen a bear. I want you to know it’s possible but unlikely, in case you’re fearful. FYI: A California black bear’s behavioral traits are NOTHING like a grizzly bear's!! And there are no grizzly bears in California. WHAT CREEKSIDE DOES NOT HAVE: These are stumbling blocks for some guests, so I want to be clear: 1)It doesn’t have television reception. 2)The internet is not unlimited. By this I mean, there is a data cap. If this worries you, we can discuss how the cap works and what it means as far as being online. Basically it means there is no video streaming. I very much enjoy hosting and would enjoy hosting you! I just want all potential guests to be aware of the two technological disadvantages of my little spot of heaven. I hope to have the internet cap lifted but the electric company has been promising that it would happen for 4 years now. Every time I call they say, “We hope it will happen in the next 5 or 6 months.” So, for your entertainment there are games to play and there are movies to watch on the dvd player and there is a creek to sooth you and animals to look for. I hope that’s enough for you to choose to stay “Creekside”.
Your only neighbor will be me and the wildlife! The property is surrounded on three sides by Plumas National Forest and is quite peaceful yet only 2 miles from East Quincy and 6 from downtown Quincy.
  • I was visiting Quincy for a job interview and needed somewhere convenient for two days. Barbara’s unique home was the perfect place. It has all kinds of interesting touches which make it a very pleasant rental. It’s located among the trees by a beautiful creek. Today it began snowing before I left, and it was a winter wonderland! I will definitely stay with Barbara again if I am in the area. Thanks, Barbara, for sharing your childhood home!

    Mary2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great stay at Creekside! It’s a great, very comfy spot. I’m only sorry our stay was only for one night - next time, we’ll make a weekend out of it! Thanks for everything, Barbara!

    Darin2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very fun and a great place to stay at especially if you want to get out of town and just enjoy nature. A very calm and relaxing place, it still had lots of activities you can do.

    Jonathan2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot. Right on the Creek

    Samuel2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cozy cabin-house! We loved the rushing creek and beautiful forest. Close to town but feels like a real escape...

    Libby2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was a gorgeous location that was a lot of fun. The property is beautiful and the house is spacious. A great base for exploring the region or just hanging out with quiet time on the property.

    Ryan2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Bárbara is an excellent host and her home is amazingly peaceful and quiet. The house has pretty much anything we could need from games and music to different types of coffee to binoculars. It was all very clean and tidy, we were impressed about it. All sorts of maps to explore the surrounding, appliances and food. We felt like home and can’t wait to come back in summer time.

This is a downstairs unit in a older home that shares one common downstairs wall with the space above, which is also rented as an airbnb space. The inside of the unit is very cozy, with one bedroom and one bathroom, two sitting areas, full kitchen and dining area. The outside has a front covered porch, and small yard, the back has a covered deck, both are for your use only.
It’s important that you understand this is an older house which means sounds travel from the upstairs and from the outside, so if your looking for a super quiet place my place might not be for you.
My property is a couple blocks from downtown. Directly across from the house is Papa Murphy’s, our local coffee shop, and Quincy Food CoOp.

  • Ginger's place is great! Great food and hospitality! Great tips about living there (if you plan to). Also, her pets are amazing (3 cats and a dog named Darth Vader).

    Mark2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Ginger’s place was very clean and comfortable. Her cooked-to-order breakfast and ready made coffee hit the spot for my early rising husband. The kitchen space and TV’s are in a shared space downstairs as well as the dog & friendly cats. This worked great for our quick overnight visit.

    Cheryl2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • You will enjoy beautiful views en route to Ginger’s cozy upstairs in Plumas County. The room was very clean & bathroom/shower had all the necessities for comfort! The bed was very comfortable & we slept like babies. We love the mountains, & the view from the room was wonderful. My daughter was hungry as soon as we checked in, & ordered an amazing rack of Ribs from GiGi’s Market just under our room. They tasted awesome, & the price was great for large portion. We were in the area for a basketball tournament, & stayed on the move, and we would love to come back when we can explore the beautiful area more & keep our bellies full with good home cooked meals. I would recommend Ginger’s place to anyone who has the chance to getaway to beautiful Plumas County.

    Aaron2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Ginger, thanks so much for hosting us! We had a great time at your place! The room is really cozy (the walls are pretty thin and the cats like to run upstairs, but we didn’t have any issues with that). The included breakfast was really yummy and the place is a perfect starting point if you want to go explore the beautiful outdoors around it!

    Kurt2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time here! Ginger was amazing in every way. The room is stylish, spacious and has an attached bathroom. It was the perfect location from which to explore Lake Almanor. The big surprise was how many other cool things there were to do here. Ginger gave us some great tips and because of that we found the perfect location under a tree growing on a rock by a waterfall to open Christmas presents! We loved our stay. Thank you Ginger!

  • Cool place in a very small town. Great hosts make your stay comfortable and GiGi's deli has great food and a very comfortable atmosphere to hang out in. I'm looking forward to staying there again... The train does roll through, but it just adds to the charm of this little gem..

    Gary2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Truly some of the best hospitality I’ve ever had through AirBnB. Gigi and Tom felt so comfortable to be around; I absolutely loved hanging out with the cats by the wood burning stove downstairs and eating BBQ and drinking beer. Tom went above and beyond and helped me with my car when the cold temperatures tested my battery, even cleaning it up one cold night to see if it would fix the problem. When it didn’t, he made sure my car started in the morning for work, then later took it next door to get the battery replaced for me while I packed my things. It was honestly way more than I was expecting. Can’t wait for the next work trip just so I can stay here again!

    Amanda2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I booked my stay with Paxton Lodge - The Todd Cabin (Named after Todd who built the cabin haha) This cabin is perfect for a couple or a small group of friends. The cabin is tucked away in a beautiful forest by the cascading rivers. Not to mention you can still hear the trains passing through. How cool is that!! The cabin was really inviting and cozy. There were plenty of fresh towels, pillows, clean linens, and even small toiletries in case you left your shampoo and lotion at home. The shower is a bit small, but awesome cause the hot water runs fantastic !!! (I wasn’t sure if it would only because the cabin is older but pleasantly surprised) The kitchen was fully stocked with plenty of pots, cups, utensils, a coffee maker, microwave, stove, fridge, freezer and bbq grill outside with all of the bbq supplies. Highly recommend you bring some steaks, casseroles, veggies to grill and burgers. It’s nice to cook your meals while you stay. The outdoor bbq area is private to the cabin so you can enjoy your own conversations and cook at your own pace. The 360 views were amazing. You can’t beat the hike at Cascade Trails. It’s a pretty easy 3 mile hike (6 miles in total) I suggest to take a light backpack with water and some snacks. It’s very well kept so it’s good for beginners and kids and even pets. There is no WIFI or TV, but that’s why I chose to stay here. It’s nice to deplug from everything. If you must I suggest to download episodes of your shows and watch it that way. Otherwise hop into town and visit the Quintopia Brewery. Such a gem on the main strip of town. They serve great seasonal drinks, you can order a beer flight or grab a bite to eat. Charley and the owners of the property are soooo nice and I would highly recommend everyone visit this small, cute town of Paxton and the Paxton Lodge. So much history and charm. Loved this much needed relaxing trip.

  • The Todd was wonderful. A nice roomy cabin with a full kitchen and bath. A nice quiet location in a beautiful location. Just a short walk to the river. Charley was a great host. Would definitely stay here again!

  • Charley was a wonderful host. We had a great time at the cabin and exploring the surrounding areas - Lake Almanor and Buck's Lake. Very dog-friendly and cozy.

  • Our stay was just amazing!! The cabin was warm and cozy. We enjoyed playing outside, hanging out at the beach, stargazing and talking with Charley and the Lodge family. They were so welcoming and we had a great time with them. Our two teenagers who were not very excited about "No TV, No Wi-Fi vacation" before the trip are now saying they want to come back to Paxton Lodge again! Wonderful trip to start the new year!

    Ryoko2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Charley was super accommodating and the cabin was very clean!! His dog, Baby greeted us and was so sweet! The location was so beautiful and secluded. The train was not at all too loud and we were excited to hear it pass. We will definitely be back! A great value and a lovely stay!

Perfect getaway spot for couples or families that love nature. The property has incredible swimming holes, campfire pit, horseshoe pit, riverfront stone patios, fishing, and more. When you arrive, there is no need to go anywhere else.
The property is on the river and the closest neighbor is 1/2 mile away.
  • Russell's cabin on the river was amazing. We arrived late at night and found it easily based on very accurate directions. Check in and out was super easy, too. The cabin is so cute! It has a casual, cozy and comfortable feel. It was Winter and the cabin was warm when we arrived, which we really appreciated. Everything was spotless. The kitchen pantry was stocked with spices and other pantry items, which we really appreciated even though we only used a few spices. There are all sorts of charming rustic touches which were fitting for the area and everything in the cabin felt intentional. The cabin is stocked with matching dishes and glassware, nice sets of bowls for serving, etc. The bed was comfortable as was the nice leather couch and we enjoyed watching movies which were there for us to use. When we stepped outside in the morning, we were so happy! The property is set right on the river and is very large and so very beautiful and peaceful! Russell has done a great job making the structures on the property fit right in with nature. We enjoyed checking out all the ways they used driftwood, which were turned into eclectic art structures, railings, etc. all around the property. There are nice pathways set into the hill down to the beach alongside the river and there beautifully colored rocks galore. We enjoyed hanging out on the sandy beach next to the fire pit, soaking in the beautiful views. There is a train which comes by every once in a while and it was also a highlight! While the location feels super remote, groceries and eateries in Quincy are only 15 or so minutes away. We will be back! Thanks, Russell!!!

  • Wonderful location that is truly a hidden gem. There is opportunity to be as active or lazy as you want to be. Russell is extremely inviting and helpful for anything needed. The cabin is loaded with great things not mentioned in the description, really there are too many great things to possibly list. There are so many things to do at the property or in the surrounding areas to satisfy anyone. We hope to be back sooner than later.

  • A beautiful 1-1/2 hour getaway for us in Reno! Lori had a spotless and neatly-decorated cozy cabin ready for us upon arrival. She treated us with high respect and gave wonderful hospitality. Her property overlooks the Feather River, and is a 1/2 mile away from the Feather River Hot Springs. (Reservation required.) This is a fairly priced and wonderful stay— we will be coming again!

  • Great little spot on the Feather River. Lori was very hospitable the two nights we were there. Morning coffee sitting down on your own little river bank! Also, it was very close to Quincy and even to the Pacific Crest Trail, which we drove up to and hiked for half a day. So cool 😀

  • Lori’s place is very quaint, quiet, warm, refreshing, beautiful, charming and delightful place! The location is beautiful, private and a very short walk to the river beach front on site! Lori is very sweet, accommodating, welcoming and helpful. We booked this place for our anniversary and she went out of her way to make sure our stay amazing, warm and peaceful. She recommended very yummy places to dine and even shared her homemade soup with us!! A must stay for two and we look forward to returning to Lori’s place soon!

  • Wow wow wow!! We were SO pleased and impressed with Lori’s casita by the river! She was by far the best air bnb host we’ve had in the states, hands down. Coming down the private drive way to the end, you see 2 cottages right on the river. It’s new, thoughtfully decorated, and has a cute claw foot tub. Lori has suggestions about what to do in the area and definitely did not disappoint! We hung out in Quincy nearby and the locals were all super nice. Definitely check out the wine bar, Moon for dinner, and Patti’s Thunder Cafe for lunch. Highly recommend Lori’s spot!

  • Very great place to visit. Parking garage can fit a full size SUV, spacious interior, and I also enjoy the outdoor seating with the bug screen. The place seemed new because it was sparkling clean. It really makes it a peaceful stay. Also, the host left us local baked goods. That was a nice touch. Can't wait to re-book in the future. Thank you!

  • I would highly recommend this cozy and comfortable cabin to anyone wanting a relaxing retreat in the pines. The cabin is clean, roomy and simply and tastefully decorated. The bed is very comfortable and couch is perfect for curling up on cold winter’s day with a book and fire in the wood stove. The hosts provided us with treats, plush towels, coffee, soaps and toothbrushes! (one of us forgot to bring one) The kitchen is well stocked with what you need to cook. It’s convenient to restaurants, groceries and stores in Quincy including a place to buy and rent outdoor equipment. It’s very quiet and nestled in the pines. The hosts were very accommodating and responded quickly with any questions or needs. It’s located among spectacular scenery with a lots of places to explore the outdoors...lakes and mountains and the incredible Mount Lassen National Park. I chose this place to celebrate my 60th birthday...the hosts made it special and memorable.

  • The Fin and Feather is a cute and comfortable studio room (very comfortable bed) on a beautiful piece of property outside Quincy. John and Elizabeth have the perfect place for rest and relaxation. You could spend the day on the ‘beach’ relaxing in loungers or a in a hammock. You can walk the property and find various places to sit and relax, picnic or stargaze or take a kayak break in their pond. Also there are a lot of things to do in the area. Quincy is a charming town with some good restaurants, a brewery, shops, great museum and movie theatre. Close by are opportunities to hike to mountain lakes and beyond beautiful landscapes. We’re so happy we were able to stay at Fin and Feather. John and Elizabeth were more than friendly and offered us great ideas on where to go to enjoy our time which turned out to be a very memorable adventure for us.

  • Barbara and Bo (her sweet pup) have a beautiful place in the forest. It is very spacious, has beautiful views of the mountains, cozy, and has a packed kitchen for all of a families needs. My small family of 10 spent Christmas here building memories and what a lovely place to do just that. Thank you Barbara and Bo.

    Linda2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Charming home, great views, awesome amenities. That's the summary anyway. My motorcycle club stayed here while exploring the area for a few days. Greenville (and consequently Barbaras place) are perfectly placed for exploring the gorgeous backroads in this part of the sierras. Barbara's home sleeps quite a lot of people, there are beds hidden all over the place. Barbara gave us the quick tour of the home and showed us where all the beds were and gave us the lay of the land. She's very nice, and one of the guys in our group was nerding out about the Giants with her, so she's good people. The house itself is really charming. But Bo (Beau?), Barbara's dog, is the real star of the show. We let him in to come hang out with us in the mornings while we prepared to head out for the day. There are not a ton of restaurants in Greenville, and most things close early. But that's not really a problem as there's a grocery store in town (which also closes early) so we were able to cook up some family meals every night. With both a gas and charcoal bbq we were able to grill up a rack of ribs from the local supermarket for a big family dinner. She's got everything you need to feed a couple of families per meal, and everyone slept pretty comfortably. Pro-tip: if you're leaving the house in the late afternoon, right about the golden hour: Have your camera ready as you get to the main road. If you're lucky there'll be horses standing in the field at the end, with a dramatic sky in the background. Unfortunately, as we were on motorcycles we didn't have cameras ready so we just had to appreciate it then and there. But I wish I'd taken a picture. I hope to go back some day.

  • Barbara’s home is perfect!! It is absolutely gorgeous, sparkling clean, and comfortable! It is in a very desirable location, which is remote but still close enough to many areas of interest. • This home is perfect for anyone who loves rural Northern California and the outdoors. Bring your dog, enjoy Sam the most amazing house cat, run the trails around Meadow Valley from the front door, and mostly chillax in this cozy home. Our family of 5 humans and 2 dogs spent a week detoxing from urban busyness in this cozy home. It’s an easy 15 minutes to Quincy one way, and 15 minutes to Bucks Summit the other way where snowshoeing and sledding are unlimited at this time of the year. There was plenty of room for all of us to cook, play games, and read, and the magical host made sure we enjoyed snowfall on Christmas Day. ❄️

The train can be heard traveling through the canyon several times per day and night, which many visitors enjoy. Read more about the trains on the FeatherRiverHotSprings website

  • Lovely, spacious house with beautiful views. The spacious and well equipped kitchen was a bonus. We visited at Thanksgiving. It was cold and snowy and the house was so cozy and warm.

  • My stay was for a work assignment but I couldn’t have asked for a better location and accommodations. Loved having the great coffee provided on the porch and feeding apples to the horses. (Think they liked that part as well). My first work related Airbnb stay and would do it again without hesitation.

  • Nicole’s place was absolutely perfect. The house is tastefully decorated, has every amenity you would have in your own home, and is walking distance to downtown shops, restaurants, brewery and theater. Everything from booking to checking in was easy, with great communication. We’ve stayed at other Airbnb’s in Quincy, and this one is a gem.

    Mimi2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • This home was charming, immaculate, stocked with anything one might need, and the host provided an excellent welcome book that described local shops and grocery as well as pamphlets for local activities. The location is excellent for walking to nearby restaurants, shops and entertainment. The host responded promptly to my interest and questions and was generous in accommodating a special request that I had given that I was in town for business. I will definitely stay at her home again!

Rural setting, 7 minute drive to Quincy. Privacy, peace, quiet, and a creek right outside your window. Horse corral available with advance notice. Short drive to mountain biking, hiking, dirtbike trails, swimming holes and more. Due to the remote setting, there is some cell phone coverage with Verizon, okay for voice and 3G. (LTE and data is extremely spotty) No AT&T signal here.
1.5 acres, open meadow and forested, year-round creek runs in the front. We have a small bridge to access house over small creek drivable for cars. You can drive a small, light trailer over the bridge. For trailer turn around, a 3-point turn in driveway is possible but not that easy. RVs or large trailers may be able to park in a pullout on the street, and then walk over the bridge. I would not recommend pulling large/heavy trailers into the driveway. Rural setting. Cell phone service with Verizon, good for voice and 3G. (LTE and data is spotty) No AT&T signal here. There is no wifi here.

Our home is a modern space in the quaint town of Quincy, CA. The space feels open and airy. There is plenty of natural light, but the surrounding trees provide nice shade for keeping the house cool in summertime. We have recently fully remodeled the bathroom and kitchen. The kitchen is stocked with cookware and a dishwasher. There is a separate laundry area as well as a pantry for food storage. If you’re here for work, ask for a special offer that works with your per diem or stipend.
All space, but one locked bedroom, is available to guests.
The neighborhood is a family neighborhood in the downtown area of Quincy. Walkability includes: shops, restaurants, post office, rentable shared office space, hiking in Boyle ravine, a bike trail, groceries, pharmacy, farmers market (seasonal), and the courthouse

Hardwood oak floors throughout the entire house with thick hand woven wool rugs in the comfy zones. Hardwood maple counter tops in the kitchen. Plumas county adds a 9% occupancy tax which is included in the nightly price.
A new house built in 2016, secluded away in the Plumas National forests to drop off the grid for a spell and recharge your batteries. Indian falls waterfall/picnic/swim area off the feather river is less than a half mile away; an easy walk or short drive. There are dozens of high sierra's alpine lake hikes, beautiful lakes and awesome scenic vistas. The Pacific Crest Trail runs through the area around the town of Belden. The quaint town of Quincy is a short 15 min drive on a scenic section of route 70. Truckee is 80 miles south on 70/89. Lake Almanor is 10-30 miles north on 89 depending where you access the lake.
The house has two queen beds and one king bed. You are welcome to have 4 additional guests sleeping on couches or sleeping pads (2 provided) but you'd have to provide your own linens other than a few blankets I've provided. Please let me know if you plan to have additional guests.

Lovely airy upstairs apartment in older home. The Apt. has 1 bedroom, and 1 bathroom, a small kitchen, and a deck with small yard. The Apartment is located in downtown Quincy within walking distance to stores, and restaurants. The Bike trail is just across the street. The Apt can be rented as a 2 bedroom 2 bath if you need more space.
The best thing about my neighborhood is it’s location, a few blocks from restaurants, and brewery, and steps away from Quincy food CoOp, and coffee shop. My neighbors are quite working people so if you stay here you will be expected to be considerate, and respectful.
  • I am a repeat visitor. I come up for work, and really appreciate the clean, comfortable "home away from home" that Pamela provides. Perfect location - close to restaurants/downtown, but quiet. I will definitely visit again.

  • What an incredible find! So close to everything in Central Quincy. The space itself is clean, comfortable and very homey. Reliable, fast internet, full kitchen and a fully outfitted living area made this the perfect "home away from home" on a recent business trip. I would definitely recommend, and will be coming back the next time I am in the area.

  • Really great value apartment in the heart of Quincy. Very walkable. It's quiet, clean and comfortable. Entrance is through the back yard and there's a lockbox that makes check in and check out very easy. There's no AC, so it can be a bit warm in the afternoon on a summer day, but there are ceiling fans in each room and it cools down at night. I booked very last minute after another place in town canceled on me and Pam was easy to communicate with and very responsive. Great base to explore the Feather River and trails and forest around town. Highly recommended and I hope to return!

Need a place to stop over while on the PCT or a place to recoup while backpacking. This is perfect. This is a camping spot on my deck with access to a shower, laundry room and kitchen. The deck is large and connects to my office. It will be quiet at night, but I will be passing through from my office during work hours. The house is equipped with a fireplace, porch and WiFi. For a little extra I’ll pick you up at the trail and shuttle you to Quincy and back to the trail.
Sitting 6 miles from downtown Quincy, and 6 miles from Buck's Lake, this is your perfect launching space for everything outdoors. We allow ✨no-fee ✨re-booking, with no time limit. If you're on Facebook and Instagram, you can view more pictures of the property and surrounding areas at @WildPlumas! The Wild Rose Tipi is located at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, an hour from Lassen National Park and over a million acres of National Forest. The tipi is a short walk from several spring-fed swimming holes, and it overlooks the meadows and creeks of the 50-acre property.
The Wild Rose Tipi is located at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, just an hour from Lassen National Park, Lakes Basin, and over a million acres of National Forest. The tipi is a short walk from several spring-fed swimming holes, and it overlooks the meadows and creeks of the 50-acre property. Simple but comfortable, the tipi is 20' in diameter and offers one full size bed (with bedding) with plenty of room for sleeping bags on the gravel floor. Outside the tipi is a picnic table and BBQ, and several additional shaded tent sites. Additional bedding available upon request. Nearby (and out of view) is the host family's small cabin (the tipi is their guest house), where campers are welcome to use the outdoor shower-- offering an on-demand water heater and a view of the Sierra Nevada range. The Wild Rose tipi is secluded, but not "middle-of-nowhere-secluded." Usually, the loudest sounds are the geese, but campers may also hear the train, or sounds from the town of Greenville (two miles downstream). There is also a shooting range about five miles away and some days you may hear noises from that. Otherwise, there are quite a few hike-in meditation or yoga bluffs where you will feel like a world away! The property borders over 500 acres of National Forest that you may also explore, and several secluded swimming holes. Your host family has enjoyed building lots of activities for their own children, which campers may use at their own risk- including a 160' zip line, a 50' zip line from a tree house, and a rock climbing wall. Please note, we try to limit our impact on wild animals such as deer and rabbits, so please keep your pups on a leash. Activities in the area: Fishing or boating at nearby Lake Almanor, or Round Valley Lake, is always popular. We also highly recommend a visit to Mount Lassen National Park (one hour). Drakesbad hot springs is also top on the to-do list! If you have any questions about other nearby activities, feel free to reach out to us! Otherwise, many of our campers enjoy the simple things- a lawn chair with a good book in the creek, or watching the kids make little pots out of the clay in the pond. Safety first, but we always encourage adventure, playing in the mud, and free range children. The Wild Rose tipi may not have wifi, and we promise you will never be bored! FAQ's: Are extra people ok, and is there a charge? Yes that's fine. For pricing, please substitute 'tents' for 'people' in the additions as HipCamp does not have the option to add extra tents at this time. The cost is $10 per tent. Any questions, just message me, we can work it out when you get here. Is there an extra cost for animals or vehicles? Nope How far are the swimming holes from the tipi? About 1/4 mile walk. How many people can the tipi sleep? Comfortably, four. You can throw down a tarp and sleeping bags for additional children. Are large school groups permitted? For sure! We have hosted up to 50! Just message us for group ideas. We can even offer guided tours of the property and use of the climbing wall. How do I store food? Storing food in ice chests is fine, although preferred would be in your car. We do not offer bear boxes, but also have not had any reports of critters or bears getting into food (yet). Bears here do not try and get into cars. Do I need to worry about bears in the tipi? Nope :) If you have any fears, simply place the solar lamp in the door way, it will scare them. Bears here are frightened of people, lights, and noises. Any other questions or concerns we are just a message away! Thank you for your interest and we look forward to hosting you this summer.
  • What a great experience of a location to stay. Just a perfect rustic getaway to forget all the negatives of our daily lives. The tipi was clean and neat and the outdoor shower was a pleasure to use. Wow, hot water! The reduced light pollution of the area really makes for nice viewing of the stars. One doesn't need to drive to an open field, just sit in the chair outside the tipi and look up. Thank you Josie for a wonderful stay.

    Mike2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Wild Rose Tipi was a really fun experience! Being people that enjoy camping, it was great to show up and have our shelter all ready to move in. Josie takes extra steps to make the tipi feel like home. Lots of great trails near by for hiking and day trips. We loved the Zip-lines, the fire pit, and you can’t beat the night sky!

    Matthew2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • What an adventure! We loved staying at the tipi. The bed was comfy and you could see the stars through the top. The location is relaxing but also convenient to the little town. We ventured out to the creek and swimming holes. The day was a bit hot so the cold water was refreshing. The trail to the creek is marked with pink ribbon. The dining options nearby are limited but there’s a grocery store. If you want to go to Lassen Volcanic National Park, print or download a map. We lost cell service on the drive there. It also got colder at night and early morning than what the weather app predicted so bring warm clothes.
