  • Such a cute and cozy room close to the hot springs! About 40 minutes from Truckee which is full of cute shops and diners. Only an hour north of North Lake Tahoe. A lovely room with awesome decorations and thoughtful touches. Would recommend!

  • This place is great! A paradise out in the country. I definitely recommend

  • Great stay and value! We really appreciated the warm space with all the wonderful amenities. The room and living area was very cozy and the butler pantry and kitchen were set up to be really self-sufficient. House has a nice old charm with creaky floors. Great experience!

    Christina2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place. You feel like you’ve gone back in time while also having cell service! Will definitely come back.

    Maddy2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a definite gem. I was able to book just two days before arrival and Chelsea made check in easy and low-stress. I wanted to be near the Sierra Hot Springs but somewhere that had its own charm as well. Each room here is painted in an excellent jewel tone (the sort you want to do at home but are too nervous to commit to) then decorated with an amazing eye for style that matches the gold rush era theme and has a good dose of humor, too. The whole place is cozy, from entryway all the way to the back of the house. The kitchen is stocked with all the amenities needed to cook a serious meal and has good fixtures and appliances. The common space really does look as good as it does in the photo. The only thing to note, as the listing says, is that sounds do carry in the very old house; the walls are thin and the floors creak. Just bring ear plugs for sleeping and you’ll be fine. Highly recommended!

  • Beautiful inn with tons of charm, character, and style. Wonderful location that is walking distance to two great restaurants and only a 15 minute drive to Sierra Hot Springs. Always a joy to stay in a place where the innkeeper is fulfilling a dream... highly recommend!!

  • My 2nd stay here. So clean, so stylish, so many fine little details to take in. Just love it here.

  • This place is wonderful! Please make the trip to this friendly farm town and enjoy the hospitality. When we walked in to her place we felt right at home. Thanks, Chelsea!

  • I booked the Blithedale room at about 6:30pm on the day of my stay. I immediately got a note with all the info I needed. When I arrived about an hour later everything was perfect - a personal note and my room key awaiting and a cozy, clean home & room. You will love The Gilded Drifter Inn!

  • I agree with other reviews, it is a hidden gem. Pictures are very accurate, and the place has a very positive cozy atmosphere. My friend and I were impressed with interior and thoughtful details, and would love to come back if we have a chance. Thank you, Chelsea, for being a wonderful host :)

    Elena2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a hidden gem, and I’m almost hesitant to leave a review as I want to keep this as a little secret getaway. It is such a special place to stay with so much thought and love in every detail. An art piece in itself! It’s perfection.

    Kelsi2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of 3 had a great time for a night after a soak at the nearby hot springs. We were pleasantly surprised with the thoughtful amenities, the high-quality snacks and the warm, welcoming atmosphere. This place is like a treasure trove with so many cool books, games and antiques, no need for screens! We'd love to come back again and enjoy the outside patio and BBQ sometime. Great price too.

    Jennifer2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Cozy and have some historical aspect to it.

  • I highly recommend Brendan's and Megan's place It is a beautiful unit with an old-world rustic charm. They place was impeccably clean, and had all the important amenities. They were also very clear with their communication and made check-in and check-out very easy.

  • Pet-friendly right next to Sierra Hot Springs!? What a gem! It was the perfect location for taking trips up Hwy 49 and exploring the surrounding forest roads by day, and then soaking in the hot springs by night. Brendan was an ideal host--very responsive, amenable to my special requests, and full of helpful local info. Highly recommended!!

  • This little nook of a cabin is perfect for 2-3 days of rest and adventure in the "Lost Sierra". We loved that all the skylights reveal glimpses of the pine trees, and that the little balcony gazes out onto the woods as well. There's even a hiking trail that extends down the hill behind the house, in addition to the many options at nearby Plumas Eureka State Park.

    Carly2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Quiet, comfortable, and extra clean. Well equipped with lots of thoughtful touches. You look out to trees from the large windows and five skylights, but you're close to good restaurants and things to do. We'll be back.

    Melissa2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • One of the nicest studio apartments I have ever stayed in. Spotless, spacious, and comfortable. Back off the main road in the woods so very quiet yet still very convenient to the entire area.

    Doug2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was really an outstanding accommodation - quiet, cozy and peaceful! Kimberly and Phil were very kind and also available if needed, but I really enjoyed the peace and quiet that this little Bear Den offered. The bed was comfortable and the kitchenette well supplied. I didn’t want to leave!

    Suzanne2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Highly suggested! Beautiful spot!

    Marcelo2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space to get away in the trees of the Sierra. Very neat, nicely decorated with attention to detail. The upper level positioning of the room made you feel like you were in a treehouse. The queen bed was nice and firm- much appreciated. Host was very attentive if there was any needs. Overall, highly recommended!

    Barbara2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Cozy Bear Den is just as cozy as advertised. Spent a great week exploring the amazing surroundings using the den as our base. Could not recommend it more highly. Excellent value, excellent accomodations. Sad we had to leave.

  • Charming and beautiful private room set in a quiet neighborhood in a forest. Zoe was incredibly kind and helpful.

    Ádithya2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Zoe and Mike were wonderful hosts with a beautiful home. They were flexible, kind, and very thoughtful. The room itself was clean and comfortable with a large bathroom and tub. If we're ever in the area of Graeagle again, we'd definitely want to come back here!

  • Awesome place with full amenities

    Dan2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Zoe and Mike”s Airbnb is the perfect location in Graeagle! Check in and communication was easy! They have thought of everything as well! The kitchenette was stocked and very helpful for us to make simple meals in the room when we chose not to dine out as well as snacks that they provide. There isn’t a microwave however but the hot plate and toaster oven worked just fine for our use. Zoe was very helpful with recommendations for dining, hikes to go on, places to see while we were there, even had a map with all the trails, lakes etc for us to use! The private space was immaculate and comfortable. The jetted tub was a nice plus but we actually didn’t make any time to use it! Maybe on our next visit, we would definitely stay here again! Thanks for an awesome experience, we would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Graeagle or any of the surrounding towns!

    Connie2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for a wedding and had such a nice time. The jacuzzi is very relaxing after a long day. The kitchenette is well outfitted and the room is just overall a great size with an awesome king size sleep number bed. Couldn’t be happier with our stay!

The Harte Room is a private bedroom located just off the lobby of the Inn. The room features a view of the breathtaking Sierra Valley. Inn rooms are all stocked with good books and original artwork. The shared bathroom is located just across the lobby and is shared with one guest room.

  • This was a really special place and a great find when we couldn’t get into our favorite hot springs in Sierraville. We were so comfortable in our room and loved having access to a kitchen and cozy living room of this Bed and Breakfast.

    Ava2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place with cozy furniture and vintage decor. Very nice library in the shared living room. It felt like stepping back into a quieter and calmer time. Highly recommended :)

    Constantin2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Gilded Drifter is an incredible little place! The decor is out of this world, and the experience of it all transports your back in time. The stay exceeded my expectations, and my boyfriend and I hope to come back to Loyalton to visit once again.

    Julie2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • if you are passing through and need a place to crash then i would recommend this spot. Especially if you are heading to sierraville for the springs.

    Andy2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • I have family I visit in Loyalton and was searching for a place close by that I could stay at for a reasonable rate. Not only are the rates fair, I fell in love with the rustic charm of this place! The Guilded Drifter look and ambience echoes with the past. I experienced more of a warm sense of hospitality and really appreciated the level of cleanliness. Thoughtful snacks (GF options) are in your room and you can conveniently Venmo Christine - total lifesaver since I rolled in pretty late and just wanted to relax in my room. As mentioned in the location profile, this is a remodeled Inn built in the 1800s - walls are thin & you can hear movement around the house, but I found guests to be respectful and quiet here. Perfect for writers, self-care vacays, or just a short getaway! Travel can be difficult here during the winter months as a heads up. ✌🏽

    John2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay right near Sierra hot springs

    Thomas 2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it! We were in the area for the Sierra hot springs but they were fully booked. We got the last room at this place about 20 mins away. It was such a unique stay. I love the antique feel of the inn and they have an amazing kitchen. Would recommend to anyone who’s visiting. Only downside is the creaking hears throughout the house when guests walk around.

"Russel Valley Retreat" looks out over a pristine valley, with a Sierra Mountain Range backdrop. The valley is famous for the emigrant trail, the cabin was once owned by a rock climbing legend, but the true magic of this special retreat lies within the ever-changing valley, the activities of countless bird species, nightly frog chorus, and expansive, endless starry skies. Hike, walk, bike, snowshoe, ski, fish, explore, relax, and recharge all within a short distance of beautiful Lake Tahoe.
The little cabin is extremely cozy, perfect for a retreat up in the mountains. Nestled in Russel Valley, it's ideal for people who want to get a little off the grid, while still being close to everything the Tahoe/Truckee area has to offer. While only 10 miles from downtown Truckee it feels as if you are going back in time to the 'ole West. You can walk (and see from the cabin) a post quoting wagon train explorers on the original Emigrant trail. The cabin was once owned by the first man to climb "El Capitan", Warren Harding, it was also the first cabin in this area, originally used by the Forest Service. For winter months the area is great snow-shoeing, cross country skiing and about 20/30 minute drive to Northstar, Alpine or Squaw Valley from the cabin door. Main source for heat is wood burning stove. I do have some wood for you when you arrive, but I would recommend you pick up a bundle of hard wood at the local grocery store on your way here to assure proper coziness during your stay. The cabin is just off Russel Valley Rd, the property is 6 acres with two cabins, horse corral, barn and riding arena. Russel Valley is absolutely wonderful for horseback riding. You can often see neighbors riding by on a weekend with their dogs. I am an animal lover and welcome dogs, I know that many dogs can be the perfect guests. I do, however, have one cat and two dogs (one small and one big), so I ask if you have a dog that is aggressive with smaller animals, cats or cannot respect the premisses, please make the best choice for all considered. My cat Kobe is also very friendly and is a regular visitor (in warmer weather) to the lower cabin (he thinks he is the cohost), whether you have a dog or not. Hope you can come to enjoy the peacefulness Russel Valley has to offer soon! If you have a dog I charge a one time $25 fee (Airbnb requires this charge is done separately). Also, I am now doing a long term winter lease Jan-June then short term June-Jan, message me and let me know if you are interested in the longer term rental.
The neighborhood is rural, but you may see neighbors driving by in morning and night to and from work, as the main road is right in front of the cabin. I have wonderful neighbors and fresh egg delivery on Wednesdays (if you are interested). All of Russel Valley has dirt roads, which can cause extra dust, just one small cost of rural west living. Please be considerate of the 15 mile per hour speed limit, it keeps our wildlife and pets safe, while cutting back on dust. There are many walking, biking (cruising or mtn. biking), x-country skiing, snowshoeing, horseback riding, fishing, hiking trails right from the front door of the cabin. I will have information, directions and some field guides and maps available. As mentioned before there are also many lakes, rivers and creeks close by. If you prefer a gym, our local parks and recreation with everything you might need (including an indoor pool with fun park, swim lanes, water volleyball court, as well as indoor track and workout equipment) is less than 10 miles away.
  • Nice quiet retreat! Really enjoyed the space and scenery : )

    Kristen2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed over the Christmas holiday. The mountains were beautiful, the nearby hikes were a hit, and the book selection offered was a nice surprise.

    Anne-Marie2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a perfect stay at Missy’s cabin. It is super cozy with a wood stove that does a great job warming up the place, both literally and metaphorically. The surrounding Russel Valley was fun to explore (including going arrowhead hunting) and the proximity to Truckee was super convenient. Missy herself was equally great. She made us feel right at home and gave us plenty of suggestions for what to do in the area. Definitely bookmarking this place as one to come back to next time I’m looking to stay in the Truckee area.

    Oleg2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Great host!

    Doug2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fabulous, it is such a cute little cabin with everything you need, in a fantastic location. We stayed warm and cosy with the great wood stove, and the beds were so snuggly. If you bring supplies you would have no want to leave. However the cabin location is really so close to Truckee going to town to shop or have dinner is easy. We had fabulous days at Northstar and Doner Ski Ranch, perfect Winter vacation. Missy is amazing, so helpful, there if you need anything but respects your space 100% local people in the Valley are very friendly. All in all you feel like your home but at the same time away from everything.

    Anna2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Missy’s Cabin is always the best! The cutest place around Truckee!

    Zoe2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is a special place. Russell valley is close to truckee but so much more spectacular in its setting. Melissa is an outstandingly attentive and kind host. The beds were really comfortable. I echo all the praise from the other reviewers. Eager to return

    Liz2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful wonderful wonderful! Great retreat for us and the dogs. We enjoyed the Beautiful views of the Russel Valley, the mountains, the horses. Nice walks in the valley and great mountain hikes nearby. We quickly developed a small ritual of taking our daily aperitif on the sunny deck watching the sunset. We were lucky the weather was amazing for the season. Cute comfortable cabin. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The fireplace was a real treat. We did lots of hikes, lots of reading and relaxing. Missy’s place was the perfect please for us. We’ll be back! 💜 🐾

It was taken over by our family in fall 2019 and we've been lovingly bringing it to life ever since. We believe connecting with nature should not have to mean roughing it and our modern cabins are a dreamy place to switch off and gather with friends and family. The property is perfectly situated to enjoy the boundless outdoor activities the area boasts, from fly fishing, bird watching, gold panning, mountain biking and hiking in the summer to back country skiing and boarding, cross country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter - you can do it all. The many world renowned ski resorts of Tahoe are all just a short drive away, yet far enough away to offer a tranquil reprieve from the bustle of the mountain. Lucky for our guests, the world famous Sierra Hot Springs are situated close by, offering a place to soak and let the stresses of everyday life melt away. Just a short drive away is the historical town of Truckee, offering countless bars, restaurants, supermarkets and boutiques. We are blessed to have countless stunning alpine lakes on our doorstep, including the pride of the Sierras, Lake Tahoe. And for those who want to just sit and be, our own property with its creek and forest on six acres provides what we think is a pretty magical base. Sundowns are spectacular and when the day turns to night, look up and watch the sky explode with stars.
  • Georgie and Sebastian's place is the perfect getaway to completely unplug. A beautiful location, helpful hosts, and so nice that they allow dogs for a fee. My dog had a great time playing with the dogs on the property. Proximity to the hot springs is particularly nice!

  • Georgie and Sebastian have an awesome ranch. STAY HERE, YOU WONT REGRET IT!

    Zachary2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Georgie and Sebastian have an ideal home base for any Sierra adventure you might have in mind! We wanted to be close to the hot springs, which are less than a 10 minute drive away, but we look forward to future visits for cross country skiing and hiking in this beautiful area. I cannot recommend these wonderful cabins enough!

    Lauren2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay over a long weekend with our dog. Georgie and Sebastian are the sweetest hosts - so warm and inviting and made us feel like we were at home. Their dog Blue is a sweetheart and played great with our boy and joined us on a hike. The newly installed gas fireplace (looks like a wood stove one) is just magical! All of the little touches throughout the cabin were well done and thoughtful from the welcome candies and dog biscuit to the mini record player and stylish decor. Lots of updates coming to the property and we can’t wait to come back for their planned coffee shop and supper clubs! Would add another star if we could!

    Beau2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved it, this place was so incredibly charming and was everything we hoped it would be.

    Chris2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at the ranch. Our dog Zoey had an amazing time also. The cabin was clean and in a perfect location. We were able to meet Georgie and she was so nice to talk to. :) we are excited to come back soon. It for sure will be our new go to getaway place.

    Bianca2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing cabin to stay in. Very clean and stylish. Another bonus of this place was how comfortable the bed was. I would stay here again in a heart beat

We are a large 5,oo plus sq ft cabin. the bathroom is not attached to the bedroom, but the trek is short and private at night. We occasionally have other dogs staying here for training. They are friendly, well behaved and ready to meet new friends.
We are located on 26 acres of woods, 8 miles outside of Truckee up Hwy 89. It is peaceful, and has many adventures right outside the door for hiking, snowshoeing, biking, kayaking, and of course skiing resorts like Northstar, Alpine and squaw Valley are close. Downtown Truckee has great restaurants, amazing shopping, and high gas prices. There is most every service you would need.
  • We absolutely LOVED our stay here and have been telling all of our dog-lover friends to visit and stay here! Our space was perfect - a bedroom and solarium. Both were very clean, calming and with beautiful views of the trees outside. Jeffrey Lynn was an absolutely incredible host. She pays attention to the little details, is incredibly kind and communicative and is just a lovely human being overall. We cannot wait to go back! (And were even going to board our dog there for a few upcoming trips!)

  • Comfortable bed and private dining area. Great place to bring your dog. Gained insight into rural living . Best if you have an AWD vehicle to get in and out on days when there is snow. My daughter, our dog and I really enjoyed our weekend. Luna loved the homemade gourmet dog food! - thank you

    Lisal2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey Lynn goes above and beyond as a host. Her place is clean, quiet, spacious, and fully equipped with all the necessary amenities. She provided us directions to get to her house to avoid getting stuck in muddy roads and even stayed up to check us in when we arrived late at night. She is warm and welcoming, which made us feel at home right away. She has great tips for anything Tahoe, Truckee, dogs, etc. I highly recommend staying with Jeffrey Lynn! :)

    Wendy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey is beyond amazing. She’s an incredible host and an amazing dog trainer. Loved the quaint, quiet space on her property. Highly recommended!

    Charlotte2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed with Jeffrey at least 4 times, we (and our pups) love it so much! She is so thoughtful and welcoming, and so wonderful to talk to. We love that we can leave our dogs with Jeffrey and not have to worry while we go skiing for the day. We are lucky to have met Jeffrey and to consider her a friend now!

    Kimberly2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, our dog and I had a wonderful stay this past weekend. Jeffrey Lynn was a gracious host and her place was clean, comfortable and restful. There are many special touches that make her place special - the warm decor, the cozy sitting room, all the amenities needed for a home away from home. The setting is quiet and away from town, yet close enough to grab a bite for dinner. It was fun for our dog to have some dog friends and very pleasant to chat with Jeffrey Lynn. We look forward to staying with her again!

    Mary2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed for a ski weekend and it was wonderful to have a fun and safe place for our dog to stay as well. We would definitely stay here again! Jeffery Lynn was so welcoming to us and our dog and she is obviously very experienced caring for dogs.

    Cassie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay out in the woods and a total bonus if you like dogs or would like to bring your own. Make sure you bring a 4WD car with you if you suspect rain or snow. The house was super cozy and Jeffrey Lynn was an amazing and very kind host. The provided breakfast was a huge plus for us as it really fueled us well for skiing in Tahoe. I would definitely encourage people to check this place out.

Drift House is two one bedroom levels that can be rented separately to sleep 4 or together to sleep up to 8. Each level has a private entrance, full kitchen, bath, bedroom, living room and private porch overlooking the Downie River.
Drift House is situated at the top of a lot overlooking the beautiful Downie River and public access for swimming and fishing is a short 5 minute walk away. You've got an 8 minute walk to the center of downtown and about a 2 minute ride to the shuttle pick up from the front door. The house is newly remodeled to accommodate vacationers who love the outdoors.
Downieville is an incredible place to spend some down time. The town is built around the Downie and Yuba Rivers and the hiking, fishing and mountain biking are world class. Drift House is in downtown and located on a third of an acre with a gorgeous view of river and forest so you get the best of both worlds.
  • Words can’t explain how amazingly relaxing my stay was at Chelsea’s drift house. The atmosphere was on point so relaxing, the small town has such a beautiful history, and this small town does a great job telling you it’s story. The drift house is amazingly decorated with the perfect touch’s from the inside out. The hammock on the back porch over seeing the beauty of Mother Nature. The drift house has everything you could possibly need to just get away, relax, and relief stress. If I could give Chelsea 10 stars I would. I cannot wait to visit the drift house again.

    Tia2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Lower Driftwood apartment is exactly as pictured -- actually better. It's in a beautiful river canyon and from the dining room is a lovely mountain view. We had a great few days there and were so impressed by all the special touches that Chelsea had thought of: flannel sheets to keep us warm, great books on the shelves, stocked kitchen with good knives, pots, coffee, basics like oil and vinegar, and fun dishes. We did a couple of fun snowshoe hikes up 49 toward the Yuba Summit -- great spot!

  • Perfect townhouse for staying in Downieville.

    Bokun2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place, everything you could ever need is there! The daybed outside is the best spot in the house with an incredible view.

    Kassi2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • I love this place for my mountain bike getaways. It’s a great location and a very peaceful place to rest up before and after the trail.

    Don2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Was in here with 3 other buddies to shuttle the downieville downhill. We had one on the futon, 1 in the queen, and the other two found spaces in living room and bed room to set up pads. Did not feel cramped during hangout times and meal times. Porch was really great. Overall really clean and stylish space, exceeded my expectations. One word tip / word of caution: we had a family with kids staying upstairs and the kids were creating a lot of echoey thumpy noises. If you're in the lower and someone is renting the other, bring earplugs.

    Chase2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing house at an ideal location. I was worried about parking from the description, but not at all, parking is super convenient. Rented lower drift house, and it was clean, charming, and ultra relaxing. Everything was spotless, and the available amenities very useful. Chelsea always answered our questions fast (via WhatsApp on wifi), and was always ready to help at a moment's notice. We had zero issues and cannot recommend the place highly enough.

Whether you enjoy outdoor activities or just want to relax on our deck overlooking the river, you will love this place. Hike the trails nearby, swim, kayak, and picnic at one of many beautiful mountain lakes, gaze at the Sierra Buttes, fish and enjoy the local swimming holes on the Yuba River, or just relax with a view of the river and the Tahoe National Forest. Perfect for a family vacation or group of friends. Great for telecommuting with a view -- if your boss will let you!
During winter it's a great location to avoid the crowds of the Tahoe area and is great for cross country skiing, snow shoeing, snowmobiling, or sledding with the family. Or just relax by the cozy fire. Borrow our snowshoes and poles or our sleds and have some fun. New: you may borrow our kayak to enjoy on the lakes nearby (not the river). Fits two adults and a child or dog. Please arrange for the kayak ahead of time if interested. Enjoy time on the riverside deck, fish on the river below, and sleep to the relaxing sound of the river. Enjoy the restaurants in the picturesque mining town of Sierra City or Downieville or buy groceries at the local Country Store and cook or barbecue at the cabin. Ride your bikes around town, ride the single tracks on your mountain bike, or ride your road bike up Gold Lake Road along many gorgeous lakes. Check out our low weekly pricing - may be better to spend a week - there is lots of see and do in the area. Telecommute from the cabin for a few days while the rest of your family enjoys a longer vacation. There are two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. One king bed, one queen bed, and a queen size air mattress that can go in either room or the living room. One bathroom has a shower, the other has both a bathtub and a shower. The second bedroom has a private entrance to the hall bathroom. Living space is about 1200 square feet. The TV is an old 35 inch model but it is set up with a ROKU box and both Netflix and Amazon Prime Video subscriptions so you can enjoy great movies, TV shows, news, weather, and music. Although there is no cable TV, most broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, ESPN, etc.) have apps on the ROKU so you can watch those networks live if you have a cable subscription at home. Plug your iPod or other music player to the stereo system or the available portable iPod player. VHS, CD, and Cassette players are also available. You are welcome to use the gas barbecue on the back deck facing the river and the washer and dryer in the hall bath. The picturesque mining town is only a mile away with places to eat or shop. There is plenty of parking on our driveway. To get around, most people walk, drive, or ride their bikes. Kayaking is the favorite mode of transportation in the lakes : )

Close to town, but still tranquil and private. I enjoyed turning off all the lights and sitting on the deck to look at the stars, so beautiful.

  • Francisco and his wife are excellent hosts. The feel of the home is one of a long history of a loving family retreat. The house is stocked with all of the extra comforts of home, from spices to soft towels and has plenty of seating and comfortable places to mingle and relax. The rushing river sound made the entire week more enjoyable. We were within minutes to so many beautiful places for hiking and exploring, which we did, eventhough it was difficult to leave the house. We will be coming back most definitely. Excellent vacation rental!

  • Amazing home with stunning views. Not sure what all the bad reviews about water heater issues are. No issues with hot water or heat whatsoever. Wood burning fire places inside and out so don’t forget to bring some firewood!

  • Luxury gem close to Sierraville hotsprings, well appointed home with a great caretaker. Floors were fussy when we were there and the bathtub requires time between fillings presumably because the hot water heater isn't big enough or is an insta-heater that shuts off as a safety feature. Excellent kitchen, nice fireplace, cozy sitting room, wonderful artwork and sweeping views make this place extra special.

  • This is a beautiful house in a remote location, not far from Sierraville. We loved the location but it’s not convenient if you want to ski or go into town, especially if there’s snow as the driveway was not plowed during our stay. Our 4 wheel drive vehicles had no problem getting in and out but I’m not sure a 2 wheel drive car would make it. The house itself is beautiful and comfortable. It’s great for kids. We had some issues with the hot water heater tripping off, but the caretaker David was very responsive and showed us how to reset it, which was easy to do and resolved the issue. Overall a great house for the price!

  • The space was amazing, modern, high ceilings, great views and easily able to fit our party of 5. We would recommend the space to anyone.

    David2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • This space is startlingly beautiful, with amazing views and easy access to the hot springs and Lakes Basin hiking. The hosts are attentive and the caretaker of the space is excellent. I highly recommend this space to anyone and everyone.

  • This house and property are absolutely stunning. Check-in was super easy, and the house was nice and clean. We stayed here with another family and we both brought our two year olds. We all enjoyed our stay so so much. The views were a dream, and the house was a perfect little retreat. We loved hiking and swimming at nearby lakes (Independence Lake, Gold Lake, Frazier Falls trail) and then coming back to this little slice of paradise to enjoy the sunset from the back patio. Can’t wait to go back!

    Sarah2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific house - stylish, well designed, high end finishes, and not the usual level of rental properties. It was also much bigger than the photos suggest. It was a ways out of Truckee, so was a bit of trek for restaurants, but in a beautiful spot, close to Sierraville and allowed us to explore a part of the area we didn't know. Directions and communications were all great. Great summer escape and a great price for the incredible property.

    Chris2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures do not do the view, house, or space the justice it deserves. What an amazing gem!! Steve set everything up so access and entrance was super easy. The responses while we were there were fast and everyone was very kind through the whole process. I have already prepared to return with family later this year because it offers such a great escape from the world!

  • Loved my stay. Grounds are beautiful and the cabin was great.

    Marco2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin in the wonderful woods. We got a lot of snow so unfortunately we couldn’t explore the area too much and was limited mostly to our cabin. Would definitely go back again, but would bring more things to entertain ourselves.

    Brittany2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Always a great time at Adam’s cabins! I’ve stayed here multiple times and each cabin is unique and beautiful . Miles of trails to hike and find seclusion, with tall pines and open meadows. A true Northern California getaway. Definitely reccomend to all.

    Kevin2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Trinity Cabin (as well as its neighboring cabins, Shamballa, Geronimo, and Serenity) is gorgeous, rustic, and in a beautiful and remote woodsy setting. If you want to connect with nature, reset, and absorb the smell of pines and sounds of birds, this is the place to go. Loved it here and will definitely be going back. Highly recommend. Thanks Adam and staff for a wonderful stay! :-)

  • Awesome place , will definitely be returning. The guest bathroom is shared so of course there’s some things to be expected as far as cleanliness but overall I mean you’re staying in a cabin and get a real restroom . Sooo it was great overall. Adam was prompt in response and made it a point to ensure we had all we needed during our stay. Loved it !

  • We were in town for a wedding, and Tom’s place was the perfect home base for us! It’s cozy and inviting, has all the basics covered in terms of cleanliness, was super easy to find and access, and is only a couple minutes from the main stretch of Graeagle. The chalet is in a peaceful neighborhood, perfect for taking a lazy morning to sit and drink coffee on the porch before heading out for any number of forest adventures.

    Matt2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a great weekend at Tom's place. There were two couples and we each had comfortable bedrooms. Plenty of space. The house was clean and ready for us with ample towels, blankets, pillows, kitchen appliances, everything we needed. We were really impressed by how quiet the neighborhood was, especially over a busy Labor Day weekend! The house is perfectly located for venturing off into the mountains or playing golf. A convenience store is a minute's drive away, as well as a variety of restaurants. We had a wonderful time there and would certainly go back should the occasion arise. Thank you, Tom, for being such a good and responsive host!

    Ja'Nay2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cabin in a beautiful part of the Sierras. We had hoped for snow, but instead of cross country skiing, we enjoyed walks through town and through the surrounding area. The deck has an amazing view of the river and it is a perfect place to sit and enjoy your morning coffee. Jane is a helpful and accommodating host. The cabin is well supplied and the kitchen is roomy and well equipped. The gas fire is warm and inviting. The wifi was slow during our visit, but hoping that will improve. The bedrooms that face the deck lack window coverings so the morning sun might bless you with an early awakening. My eye mask addressed that concern.

Amazing & unforgettable memories every time!!

  • What a lovely, cozy, welcoming, and relaxing "Cabin in the Woods." Jane extended our Christmas spirit with some wonderful decorative touches and made us feel right at home. While there wasn't much snow, we had fun-filled days and enjoyed sitting outside on the deck to listen to the wind in the pine trees, rushing creek below, and singing birds. We'll definitely keep Jane's place in mind for another trip to the gorgeous Plumas County area.

  • Had a peaceful and restorative weekend at Georgie and Sebastian's. They kept the cabin very clean and nicely appointed that all details were well thought out. My husband and I especially enjoyed the records and turntable, the gas fireplace, and breakfast at the porch next to the rushing creek. The bed was so comfy too! Georgie and Sebastian were very responsive to communications and accommodating of requests. They're putting a lot of care into improvements on the cabins and the property that we can't wait to return and experience more of their place.

  • Beautiful vacation in Plumas Eureka. Aside from one smokey day, we had perfect weather. The house was clean and efficient. Thank you again for a wonderful stay Jordan!

  • Eureka Lake Lodge was a beautiful place to stay! Very clean and nicely decorated. Would love to come back.

  • This is a truly unique home in an absolutely tranquil environment, that’s close enough to town but far enough away to take in the stars and the sound of the river. I look forward to staying here again in the future.

  • Love this place it has all we need and it’s located in a very a special area. This was our second stay and we will be back.

  • Beautiful spot, great family vacation. We will visit again.

    Alicia2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jordan’s place was amazing and we cannot wait to stay here again. For a family of 6, plus grandparents, there wasn’t enough toilet paper (no extra rolls). The place was immaculate! There were a few windows that wouldn’t lock (which was okay for a short stay) but other than that, we loved this place, the location and the great energy.

What a discovery! Here's a beautiful rustic river cabin (the Tin Cup Hilton) that commands a view of the surrounding tree studded mountains, with the big, beautiful Downie River running smack dab through the middle of it. Listen to the river while you dine, sleep, and live life. Enjoy the wildlife---deer, bear, river fowl, and the occasional otter or two frolicking in the stream. Hike, bike, swim, kayak, fish, or try your hand at gold panning. The river is your backyard. Celebrate life.
Our Tin Cup Hilton affords a magnificent view of the river
cabin sits on a private drive overlooking the river It is very private and very quiet
  • Very cozy cabin by the river!

    Thomas2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Tin Cup Hilton! It is a rustic cabin in the sense that there isn't any telephone, internet, or cell phone signal, but that can be a welcome situation many times. The cabin provides delightful accommodations, and the setting on the river couldn't be prettier. We hope to be back!

    Cary2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Les' cabin is wonderful and it's conveniently walking distance from Downtown and the trail heads. We enjoyed a spectacular weekend mountain biking hard, and the cabin was perfect to recover, enjoy warm food and drinks between rides. We can't wait to be back!

  • Great location

    Kevin2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Nice spot right on the river, and you can't beat soothing sounds of the river. The A-frame construction really takes you back in time - perfect for really getting away from it all.

    Doug2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Cute rustic cabin with lots of charm! Les was a wonderful host, we had all we needed and enjoyed the river and front porch picnic spot. Thank you!

    Devona2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We made some changes to our reservation and Les was patient throughout. It is a good, quiet spot. It was nice to be able to walk into Downieville.

    Dale2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location by the river - swimming, fishing and shooting the rapids all within 5 meters of the front porch. The cabin itself is rustic but everything works well. Be sure to pack your own bedding, however!

A lovely 4 bedroom house on a 1400-acre working cattle ranch in a large sub-alpine valley in the Sierra Nevada, 25 miles north of Truckee. Private meadows and forests to explore, as well as a jumping off place for excursions in the northern Sierra.
  • This house is beyond epic. beautiful and everything was thoughtful and of the best quality. beautiful property and energy

  • Eveline's home is absolutely spectacular. We rented the space as we were headed to a wedding in the area. This Air Bnb made the weekend for us. It is beautiful, serene, spacious- it is almost impossible not to relax just by being there. We were so sad to leave! Highly recommend if you are traveling to the area. Eveline was also a very responsive and kind host, accommodating our check-in needs. Overall, one of my favorite rental experiences I've ever had!

    Kerry2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a perfect retreat at Lemon Canyon. With a wrap around porch, outdoor shower, beautiful views, comfortable beds, and great kitchen, it was hard to leave! We spent our days exploring different lakes in the area and our mornings and evenings relaxing at the house. Eveline was great to communicate with, quickly answering any questions I had. I can't wait for our next visit to Sierraville!

    Megan2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Truly wonderful! We felt immediately at home & honestly so sad to leave! Lots to see & do in a 50 mile radius, relaxing & beautiful house & ranch! Absolutely loved it!!!

    Stephanie2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second time at the house, and it does not disappoint. A beautiful, cosy, relaxing house styled more European than American, which adds to its charm. We use it as a base camp for visiting some incredible lakes, walks, and waterfalls in the area. Not to mention the 1400 acres at your disposal from the front door. Very quiet, peaceful, and about the best retreat space I have ever been to. Highly recommended, and worth the higher price! I really love the kitchen, and make full use of the double oven and 6 burner stove. The kitchen is small but efficient and lovely to cook in! All in all, we love it here; it suits our needs for quiet, function, beautiful aesthetics, but without the overstuffed and ostentatious feel of other places at the same price point.

    Louisa2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lemon Canyon Ranch is a dream of a place. The eloquently relaxed home, the expansive view of land and sky from inside and out (including the stars from your bed!), the variety of natural habitats to explore and the delightful bird song pull you to stay here all day for days on end! You will be enticed to drop your devices and become absorbed in this remote and beautiful slice of Sierra Valley. It's healing and calming effect are unmistakable. All creature comforts are superbly met (beds, bedding, fantastic "bathing" room, kitchen with all the appliances, pots and utensils you can want), lovely spots to dine from the deck to the lawn chairs to the front porch to the dining room with its "wrap around" fire place, and reading materials for every interest - including good resource materials for the surrounding area. While I've been coming to Sierra Valley for 3 decades I only found this special retreat last year. I hope to be returning (along with all the birds) every year from now on. Thank you for making it available! ps: communication with Eveline was always cordial, responsive, helpful and prompt. She went out of her way to resolve a problem that arose in the reservation process. Couldn't ask for more.

    Kitty2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is very special. I'm so impressed with the location and what the owners have done here; it's an incredible place to spend a week, with beautiful views, a light and wonderful home with verandahs all around, streams and forests and grassland available to walk in from any direction, and the people we met were so friendly. Our dog had the best time of all. Thank you so much to Eveline.

    Lisa2019-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place! Cosy, comfortable, super clean, well appointed, blissfully quiet. Amazing views. Awesome kitchen with everything we needed to feed our little group hearty homemade meals :)

  • Amazing old school antique inn. Very romantic setting of the Wild West. Stylishly furnished. I felt very safe here with my little one and excited to return one day with family and friends to share the enchanted feeling of staying at the Gilded Drifter Inn.

  • This is a great deal! Wonderfully decorated home, we really loved the Wilde room, it was funky, comfortable and cozy. This place has everything you need and more. Especially loved hanging out on the back patio and playing old dean Martin records in the library. We went to the hot springs every night, a very quick 13 minutes straight down the road. During the day we went exploring the many surrounding lakes and even dug up some cool crystals! Chelsea also has a great book collection.

  • I absolutely stumbled upon a gem when I found The Gilded Drifter Inn. This place is charming beyond words. Every. Single. Element of this Inn is lovingly restored. Chelsea's sense of place echoes in the walls, the floors, every detail of this home. Cooking meals in the kitchen, settling in next to the gas fireplace in the library and interacting with other guests at the inn, all while having my dog at my side is such a sweet and homey way to enjoy time away from my own home. Not to mention the slow place, yet dreamy quality of Loyalton. This tiny town nestled in the Sierras is a sweet respite from the big city of Reno, and yet not too far off the beaten path. I will most certainly return to this place, time and time again. Thank you, Chelsea.

    Whitney2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Gilded Drifter Inn is a beautiful and historic home that has been remodeled and decorated by Chelsea - a young, inspired, hard-working and thoughtful entrepreneur. She lives on site and clearly loves her Inn and the town of Loyalton. It was like staying in a warm museum, every detail hand-picked. Exceptionally clean, with every amenity we could have wanted. Our stay was stupendous in every way. We've been twice and are looking forward to the opening of the new farm-to-form restaurant next door.

Canyon Ranch is a newly renovated ranch nestled in the heart of the Sierras, providing a magical place to wind down and reconnect with friends and family. Enjoy the sound of the bubbling creek that runs through the heart of our property and when the sun goes down, lie back and be captivated by the starry night sky. Our seven cabins have each been lovingly restored with the discerning traveller in mind and provide the perfect base to explore the stunning Sierra Nevada mountains.
Recently refurbished with all new furniture and furnishings, Woodsmoke exudes rustic modern charm. Handcrafted reclaimed wood shelves house enamel dinnerware from Canyon Crow Home and the kitchen comes equipped with full fridge, oven, toaster, French press and every utensil you’ll need to hunker down, gather and cook with friends and family. The largest of ours cabins, Woodsmoke is perfect for families and larger groups and offers two roomy bedrooms and a separate living area with gas fire for those chilly nights. Bedroom one has a queen bed and twin bunk beds. Bedroom two has queen bed. With a luxury Casper queen mattress, crisp white linens and Faribault wool blankets, you’ll be counting down the minutes until bedtime. The living and kitchen area are open plan and offer ample room to relax, play games, connect with loved ones while preparing dinner and for those moments when you just want to dance, turn on the vinyl player and kick off your shoes. Canyon Ranch is situated in the town of Sierraville and has been hosting travelers and backcountry enthusiasts since the 1950s.

  • Very cute place next to a lovely river. Georgie was very helpful and communicative. The record player was a great touch as we listened to records our entire stay!

  • We loved Woodsmoke and our girls called it our 'wooden house' for a few days. Georgie was so helpful with information before we arrived and left treats for the kids and us. The beds were comfortable and it's clear the positive updates Georgie and Sebastian have made to the cabin so far. Having the creek just outside and seeing the clear night sky was something very special. The vinyls are a great touch and we played dominoes together as a family for the first time ever. To anyone heading West upon leaving Sierraville, we really recommend taking the 49 westbound if you have time, as a scenic way to avoid the 80 for a while. Thanks again Georgie and Sebastian!

  • Each stay at the gilded drifter is better than the last. Chelsea is a thoughtful and incredibly hospitable host. Thank you for this wonderful, dog friendly getaway.

  • Tasteful place!

  • Chelsea is such a thoughtful and incredible host! Everything you need is here- from coffee filters to wine, bathroom supplies, etc. She has thought of everything. The rooms are beautifully decorated and beds comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a glorious meal. And best of all- dog friendly. I found the renovation book during this stay and am astounded by the work and love she have put into making the inn so beyond amazing over the last three years. Each time I return she has added a new upgrade. It is always evolving in a positive way. I cannot wait to try the new restaurant!

  • I highly recommended Chelsea's Gilded Drifter Inn! My boyfriend and I stayed with our dog Mika while passing through the area and absolutely fell in love with this place! We will be back soon! Chelsea did an incredible job making it beautiful, unique, comfortable, and so quaint. Every amenity we needed was readily available. So clean and comfortable. She had doors open for rooms that weren't booked, so we were able to take a peak inside and every single room looked incredible. The outdoor patio area was lovely too, and it was wonderful waking up to the lovely, peaceful views. You don't want to miss out on this experience!

  • A very beautiful and unique house. We enjoyed our stay in this relaxing place.

    Mariia2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Gilded Drifter is a fantastic place to say. The spaces are quirky and beautiful, Chelsea has done a fantastic job of furnishing both the shared spaces as well as the private rooms. We stayed in the Clemens Room, and it was spectacular. The big windows let in plenty of light, making it a lovely spot to sit and read, or just sit watch the life in the valley go by. Everything was very clean, and there were many thoughtful touches that made the Inn the perfect place to stay.

  • We stayed in the Shambala cabin. It was beautiful! Very clean and Adam was very friendly and helpful. Adam and his friend even helped us out with some car trouble! The cabins are beautiful and the forest surrounding the cabins is wonderful to walk around in. It was a short drive to the river and Nevada City. Definitely one of our favorite ever ’glamping’ experiences! There is a cozy indoor fireplace that heated up the cabin and made the cold night enjoyable. I would highly recommend staying here.

  • My family and I had a great time at the cabin! When it was time to go we wanted to stay a couple more days! Adam was more then helpful and hospitable with everything we needed and any questions we had. Can’t wait to go back!

  • Adam is responsive, friendly & very helpful. The Shamballa cabin is spacious, rustic & poetic. It can be a wonderful writers’ retreat. We loved the continuous burning of the firewood to keep the cabin warm. Bring extra layers in the winter because it can get cold on the winter eco-preserve!

  • We loved our stay here, brought our dog, hiked around the land and nearby Yuba river, and warmed up by the fire. Had everything we needed and was a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of every day life, would love to come back and recommend to anyone looking for a calm weekend enjoying nature and good company.
