Great new lodge at Saddleback Resort within walking distance (or sliding distance). Rangeley is a fantastic, quaint mountain town with great local restaurants, shops, bars, large grocery store, awesome family friendly bowling alley/pool hall, and of course good people.
  • A great place to visit and beautiful area to enjoy the outdoors.

    Rebecca2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place with amazing views. Ryan was very responsive to any questions we had before/during stay. Amazing place in a great little town with lots to do. Would definitely return!

    Jake2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great value, Ryan was very accommodating and responds quickly to text and emails answering all questions. The pictures don't do the house justice. It's beautiful and the view of saddleback valley is even better. If saddleback isn't on your list this season it needs to be next season.

    Nicholas2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan’s place is great. It was very clean and had excellent views. We will definitely be back!

    David2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing place with out-the-door access to Saddleback - got great hikes in both days that we stayed. Very comfortable place to come back to!

    Jenn2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We love Ryan’s place. This was our second visit: it’s gorgeous, cozy, comfy, and spacious, with room for everyone to spread out or gather together. Ryan is great to work with. The area is absolutely beautiful and everyone you encounter is friendly and happy to be there.

    Michelle2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome panoramic view and you can ski from right outside the door. Fully recommend!

    Soleil2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place for a group of friends or two small families to spend a winter getaway! Fat biking, cross-country skiing, or hike up the (closed) Saddleback ski trails. Comfy beds, great views, well equipped kitchen (we brought all our food with us rather than drive into town). The wifi broke just before we got there, but Ryan was an excellent communicator and let us know in advance, and even took a bit off the price. The access road was well-plowed (although we have snow tires). Great stay!

  • Keith and Clare have a delightfully cozy space just minutes away from town and the local outdoor Trail Center. The views are spectacular, and the apartment is spacious and comfortably furnished with a tasteful touch. We appreciated the fully equipped kitchen for preparing our meals, as well as the helpful and quick responses to our questions. Thanks for a great stay!

    Corinne2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying here over the weekend! The location is perfect: quick drive (or snowmobile ride) to everything in Rangeley, but far enough for quiet and privacy. We arrived Friday night. Loved waking up in the morning to the incredible scenery. Kitchen is well stocked and everything is easy to find. Plenty of towels in the bathroom. Also shampoo, bar soap and a hairdryer. The bedroom, living area and apartment as a whole are perfectly clean, cozy and bright. Keith and Clare are wonderful hosts. Extremely accommodating and responsive. We would love to stay again!

    Jessica2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Keith and Clare communicated very well and they have a perfectly quaint get away. I would definitely stay again!

    Anna2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment has such an “at home” feel to it. It had everything we could have possibly needed for our weekend getaway. It was decorated very charming and it was super clean! It is attached to the hosts home but we never even knew anyone else was anywhere around. It was peaceful, quiet and private. Now onto the views! Absolutely breathtaking. To be able to sit at the dining room table and sit your morning tea and look at the snowy trees, iced over lake and snowy mountains was like something out of a Hallmark Christmas movie. We travel to Rangeley and Oquossoc few times each year and we will definitely be back! We look forward to staying with them in the summer and fall so we can enjoy the views in the different seasons. Thank you for a most incredible and memorable weekend!! Super Hosts for sure!!

    Krissy2019-12-08T00:00:00Z

    Brian2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is stunning. The pictures don’t do it justice. It’s in the perfect country setting. 10/10, would definitely return. The apartment was clean, easily accessible and well stocked. Keith and Clare are amazing hosts.

Nice little place right on the side of the mountain for trail access. Very private with not many people staying in the condos nightly. We would definitely come back!

  • This home was exactly what we were looking for. Tucked away in the woods for lots of privacy, close to Rangeley mountain, and the layout was great for cooking, dining, and relaxing. Jeffrey was quick to respond to any communication, and was very helpful with any questions. We would absolutely rent this home again.

    Nick2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff’s Rangeley cabin was everything we expected and more. There is a ton of space, the two bedrooms are huge and the kids loved having their own little spot in the loft. Super comfortable - it was -15 degrees one night and we were toasty warm. Peaceful, secluded yet close to all Rangeley has to offer.

    Jeff2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at this gorgeous (and totally secluded) cabin this past weekend. Too many amenities to list... jacuzzi in the master bath, one touch gas fireplace, thoughtful lighting and temperature control, beautiful winter scape view, brand new/unbelievably comfortable beds. Its location is great! Within a short 5 min drive to the local grocery store - 10 minutes to the restaurants/ bowling alley - and 45 minutes to Sugarloaf Mountain. Deer and bunny sightings on a handful of occasions. We stayed 4 nights but could of stayed for weeks... Jeffrey makes it easy to check in and easy to check out. He was communicative before, during and after our stay. What a great host! I would very much encourage you to book this cabin!

  • I'm glad I stayed at Lisa & Jonathan's place. There aren't many lodging options in rural areas of ME. What I most appreciated about L&J's amenities was being able to use their kitchen and how clean the place is. I want to echo what Lisa told me, if you don't have 4x4/awd, (while I'm not Nostradamus) you will have a hell of a challenge to make it up her long hilly driveway when it's snowy/ icy in a front-wheel drive car - so please don't arrive at L&J's in a Prius in the middle of winter.

    Richard2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa is great and the place is so nice. The views are unreal! Easy drive to Sugarloaf as well!

    Josh2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing time and amazing people! Will definitely stay again!

    Daniel2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa and Jonathan were welcoming from the first moment, friendly but also clear that they understand about guests’ privacy. The 180degree views of Rangeley Lake from high up on the hill were jaw-dropping. You could watch the sunset AND the full harvest moon set right over the lake in front of you. And the resident eagle soaring over autumn foliage in the middle of the view was amazing. Lisa took special interest in making suggestions for what to do, she actually seemed to enjoy answering our questions! House was spotless. The mattress on our bed was wonderfully comfortable. And all for a reasonable price. Lisa takes her job as a host seriously, a real pro!

    Susan2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa is so kind!! She gave us some helpful tips/suggestions on local food & routes to take. The home is absolutely beautiful and the view is incredible

    William2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa is a warm, friendly and helpful hostess. We really enjoyed our overnight stay and so recommend it to anyone visiting Rangeley.

    Anne2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • My stay with Lisa was exactly what AirBnB should be: Lisa made me feel at home from the first moment to the last. Her home is spectacular and the space is vast and very comfy. She was friendly and we had a great conversation, watched a movie together and she even made sure I had decaf coffee in the machine...

Adorable two bedroom one bath cabin sits back on a hill with amazing views of Rangeley Lake. This cabin is one of 7 in the Terraces association that has 350’ of shoreline on Rangeley Lake. It has a shared fire pit, sun deck, boating dock and boat house. It also has a private swimming dock with two Adirondack chairs to relax and watch the beautiful sunsets, listen to the loons and occasionally see an eagle fly by. There are 2 kayaks available for your use to explore the Lake. • Kelly's place was great! I took my parents up when they came to visit and we had a wonderful time. The pictures do not do justice for how cute and cozy the cabin is. While yes, it's a small, our group of 4 were comfortable the whole time. There's quite a few stairs to get to the lake, but so worth it. Already thinking about a next trip back!

    Nick2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • We can’t say enough about Kelly’s cabin. The location is perfect with a stunning view of the lake and tons of access to it with docks, kayaks and paddle boat, life jackets, etc and plenty of deck chairs. The private deck for her cabin is an added treat, and the sunsets from there did not disappoint. The deck of the cabin is also fabulous with lots of room, a great table, and a nice grill for cooking. The cabin itself is not huge but so comfy and welcoming. We slept very well and loved hearing the loons. The outdoor fire pit was a fun way to socialize over s’mores with other renters. And the stars viewed from the dock were unbelievable. We could only stay two nights but we’ve already decided we’re going back next year for a longer visit. A gem of a place for sure!

    Lisa2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was exactly what we were looking for in a quick weekend in Rangeley. Getting the key was super simple and everything was clear in the cabin. The only thing and this is in no way a negative reflection of Kelly or her cabin but if you do have small children this might not be ideal as there are 3-4 steep sets of stairs to get to the dock, and the cabin it's self is on a hill. Otherwise super cute and fun experience for everyone

    Jon &Amp; Debbie2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little cabin, on beautiful grounds. Nice water views, with a great deck. There are 4-5 sets of steps to get to the cabin and the water, so not for anyone who can't do steps. We had a fantastic time. I hadn't been to Rangeley in 15 yrs, or so and I was so happy to swim in the lake again.

    Kristine2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful . spotlessly clean. Well stocked

    Robert2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location with wonderful lake access! Beautiful deck for stargazing.

    Stacey2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was cozy and welcoming. Very clean and organized, had a little bit of everything. Our kids had hours of fun playing on the spacious deck! Very close to town and many hiking trails. Family friendly.

Available mid-May through September (cabin is not winterized). Rustic cabin on Rangeley Lake in Maine. Sleeps 2 adults and 2 children comfortably. 3-night minimum stay. 1 mile from town. This is a VERY hilly property. 1 fight of stairs down to the cabin, 4 more flights of stairs down to the Lake.
The space is a fully equipped 390 sq ft. cabin. We have a trundle bed with 2 comfortable memory foam twin mattresses. 2 additional (twin bed size) sofas are on the Sun Porch. This space easily accommodates 2 adults and 2 children. We provide linens, lots of towels, kitchen and bathroom items. There is a coffeemaker, toaster oven and a large lobster pot for your use. All the other necessities include well-stocked kitchen equipment and pantry basics. Our BBQ grill has consistently received excellent reviews in our "Up North" cabin journal, a handwritten, offline Rangeley review that most of our guests enjoy journaling in. Upgrades include a 27 inch monitor and new Dell laptop. We supply Netflix via the Internet. You may stream all your subscriptions on the laptop provided. We've added some games and activities ... Scrabble, Life, Monopoly, playing cards, Trouble, Sorry, MadGab, CatchPhrase, Chat Pack for kids and jigsaw puzzles. Enjoy the hummingbirds. See ducks, loons and moose. Rangeley offers Moose Safaris. PLEASE NOTE there is a three night minimum. At times we may be able to change the arrival day. Please check. There are ~97 steps from parking lot to the water. This is a very steeply sloped (terraced) property. Our cabin is one set of stairs from parking lot. That is why it is called The Terraces on Rangeley Lake.
  • Great place to stay. Comfy with a beautiful view. Highly recommend !

  • Great accommodations and host. Great location and spectacular views of the lake.

    Matt2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic cabin steps up from Rangeley Lake. Beautiful dock to watch the sunset, fish, swim or go for a boat ride. We were three and fit comfortably in the cabin. The deck adds to the living area, since you can spend most of your time there on nice days. The twin bed in the main space has a pop up trundle which turns the twin bed into a king (or it can be used as two twins). There are also two couches that convert to twin beds in the enclosed porch. Great place for a family of 4 max. Close proximity to town by boat or car. Fantastic outdoor space with chiminea shared between the cabins at which we met our neighbors and shared s'mores with them.

    Aura2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Cabin is wonderful. It is the perfect location and has everything you need. We fell in love with Rangeley. Rick is very helpful and a great host. Can't wait to go up again next year!

    Sarah2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific cabin, super comfy and wow the views are amazing! The Lake was a fabulous place to kayak, swim or just hang out. Short trip to town with great shops and dining. We had a relaxing trip last week!

    Maureen2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful getaway in a magnificent place. Sleeping on the porch was the best night we have ever had.

    Heather2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at The Terrace's was exceptional. It was exactly what we had hoped for - the quintessential "cabin at the lake." The cabin was nice, clean and our host left us with all the things we could have needed. We even had access to Netflix - a great touch to be able to watch movies with the family after a long day of hiking and being on the water! Rangeley lake itself was beautiful and we had access to a canoe, paddle board, and a peddle boat. Our host provided so much useful information about the area - things to do, places to eat, etc. - and was very responsive to text messages when we had additional questions. If you're looking to get away and enjoy some peaceful time at a beautiful lake, a stay at The Terrace's will give you all that and much more!

    Erica2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Waking up and seeing the view of the lake was the high light of the day! Great place to relax and experience lake life! The cabin is adorable! The Rangeley lake scenic view was beautiful! The locals were all very nice!

Cabin #5 is a cozy getaway located on the beautiful Rangeley Lake. Guests have direct access to the lake via 100 meter walk to the dock. You will be a less than 5 minute drive to a bustling main street with great local shops and eateries.
This is a quaint one room cabin that overlooks Rangeley Lake. I would consider it luxuriously primitive. It has running water, electricity, and wifi. A trip to the lake provides time for reflection or adventure.
Cabin #5 is part of a seven cabin community called The Terraces. Many other cabins get rented but mostly are weekend getaways for their owners. The community is quiet and asks that guests keep a respectable volume as well. There are 3 docks that are shared by The Terraces and guests are welcome to enjoy the use of the docks. The cabin is located only a few miles away from downtown Rangeley. If you are looking for good BBQ head the The Shed, it is at the far end of Main Street. Looking for finer dinning? Check out Forks in the Air Bistro (one of my favorites) There are plenty of shops along Main St. don't forget to check out Gifford's of Maine ice cream, served at Pine Tree Frosty. Main Street even has a local movie theater, artisan coffee, and an outdoor gear store.
  • Cozy little cabin with expansive views of Rangeley Lake (the fall foliage was amazing!). Very clean and welcoming, well-appointed and comfortable. Great communication from the hosts and the folks in neighboring cabins were very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely visit again.

    Rebekah2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing place. The cabin is compact and we were there at the end of the season so it got chilly overnight but toasty warm with the sun shining in and the heater on. The location is second to none. We were only there for 2 nights but it was great and we would recommend it.

    Lynne2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning place. The views were spectacular. Quiet and cozy, close to town for good meals. Enjoyed my time.

  • Meganne's place is such a cozy cabin nestled in the heart of Rangeley with so much to do to satisfy your outdoor adventures!

    Chris2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was just exactly as described, and it was everything me and my husband needed for our anniversary! Gorgeous view of the lake, cozy cabin, beautiful surroundings, we got to stay by the fire at night, did a little hike up the waterfalls which starts only 4 minutes away from the cabin, went to the cool bowling alley in town, which is only 8 min away. Great spot in any way! Thank you!

    Ena & Marcus2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a place! Ideal for writers and nature lovers in search of beauty and solitude. Communication was a breeze, the town was full of kind humans willing to share their stories and the cabin was unforgettable. Such a special space, I will be back!

    Boyd2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Comfy cozy cabin in the woods. Felt very private as we were the only people there for most of our stay. Enjoyed the kayaks, fishing from the dock, read in the sunshine and cooked on the fire pit. Will definitely be back!

  • Great place in Rangeley-- we enjoyed our stay so much. Super location close to town and right on the lake. Lots to explore! The cabin is cozy and comfortable. Beds were very comfly.

  • Great cabin and great value. The area is amazing and the cabin was well stocked with necessities like a wine opener and wine glasses. The hosts were extremely friendly and responsive. We are planning our trip for next summer at the cabin already.

    Tom2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Terraces #6 with its treetop views of the lake below. There is much to do in the area - we hiked, rented a boat for an afternoon, explored shops and museums and just hung out on the dock and read our books and swam. The cabin has a real “camp” feel where we could relax and soak in the beauty of the area.

    Lucinda2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay!! The cabin is amazing, and offers the most beautiful views of rangeley lake. We had a hummingbird visit us, and loved hearing the loons out on the lake. We would love to visit again! Thank you

    Krista2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Four days at Steven and Sue's cabin was just what we needed - the perfect getaway for adults and children alike. Our boys lived in the lake and we enjoyed several excursions on the kayaks. The hosts lets us know everything we needed to know prior to arrival and were quick to respond to any questions. They welcomed us upon arrival and made us feel right at home. The neighbors were also great and welcoming to weekend visitors. The cabin itself has everything we needed to cook and relax. We hope to return next summer.

    Allison2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem on Rangeley Lake! A beautiful setting but be ready for some exercise! The Terraces are up off the water for an amazing view but quite a lot of steps to get down to the lake and back.. just a note for those up in years or out of shape. We enjoyed the provided kayaks and floats from the boathouse. Amazing summer sunsets and full moon rises on the lake!.. So peaceful we hated leaving. Just a great all around rental!

Cozy home in the western Maine mountains. Close to Rangeley (30 minutes), Sugarloaf (40 minutes), hiking, hunting and snowmobile trails. Enjoy exclusive access, including permission to hunt, hike, snowshoe, and cross country ski, to over 600 acres of land and trails at Riverweb as part of your stay. Our property is very close to regional snowmobile trails that are part of the Maine Snowmobile Association. We welcome dogs! Our pasture-raised beef and pork is available for sale during your stay.
I think this home is really cute and special. It has lots of light and great views. Being close to both Rangeley and Sugarloaf is ideal for 4 seasons of fun. What really makes this home unique is the access it provides you to Riverweb's 600 acres of forests, fields, ponds and rivers. There is outdoor space for you and your dogs: a picnic table, a fire pit with a swivel grill (please bring your own wood), and a dog run.
This is a very rural part of the world. I think it's stunningly beautiful every day.

  • Great place for a peaceful weekend retreat. The place is well and intentionally designed. Well furnished kitchen with great cookware. Not too far from great slopes and trails for skiers. The hosts were friendly and responded quickly. Roads around the property are pretty rough. Bring a vehicle with good suspension, the higher off the ground the better. 4WD in winter

    Steven2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jos’s place was beyond our expectations. Large clean space with every amenity you’ll possibly need. It is a great place for those looking to enjoy nature or sight seeing in beautiful Maine. **snowmobilers take note** There is no trail access from this property. The nearest trail is 1.3 miles down a paved road. Trailering and find a spot to park/unload daily is the best option.

The local movie rental was also convenient during the rain and night time as there is no internet or cable (or any tv channels) to entertain you. There is plenty to do with a bowling alley across the street, as well as a movie theater, variety of places to eat and gift shops with in a mile of the cabin. Oh and dont forget the infinite amazing outdoor activities. We enjoyed hiking, viewing waterfalls, and kayak rentals. During our stay we also saw local fish vendors less than a mile from the cabin seeling fresh fish and live lobsters. There is a local grocery store a few miles away. The cabin has a small oven, fridge, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker to use as well as dishes, utensils, cups, pots and pans.

"Brimwater" or "Camp" as we call it is a cozy, custom built house that has been loved by four generations of our family. It overlooks the serene Long Pond and beautiful Beaver Mountain. It is the perfect home base for all that Rangeley has to offer.
Our house is a short ride to Smalls Falls, various hiking trails including the Appalachian Trail, Saddleback Mountain, snow mobile trails and Rangeley lake. The IGA supermarket, Rangeley Library and Rangeley town's restaurants and entertainment are also a short (6 mi.) ride away.
  • Great location. Amazing lake with dock and boats. Rustic and comfy cabin. A perfect place to stay in the Rangeley Lakes region. We will definitely return.

  • This place is in an amazing setting. The loons at night are amazing. Overall, it is just as described and a very comfortable place to relax. We really enjoyed our time there. Krissy was a great host and super responsive. Believe the ad when it say no cell service. It is in an awesome mountain valley. If you want to put “NO cell service” on your out of office the. This is perfect for you. You have the option to drive 5 minutes into service if necessary. There is a home phone for local calls. Place is wonderful and the hosts are great.

  • This is a GREAT family camp! We loved going out on the lake, and all the books, puzzles, and games - something for everyone to do besides watch TV. If you want great pizza check out Furbish Brew House and if you want to see moose in the wild, drive east on 16 at dusk.

  • Great place for getting away from it all. There is a great pier and a canoe for your use during your stay. Bring t Your fishing pole! The town of Rangeley is a short 7 min drive and has everything you might need. The host is very available via phone if you need anything. Go here!

  • What a perfect private getaway to have a girls weekend. We cannot wait to come back again!

    Jessica2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • A very comfortable, homey space that feels lived in, full of awesome wooden toys, an indoor hammock, books from this and bygone eras, many games and puzzles, space for everyone, courtesy of the multi-bed loft and bedrooms, and a kitchen with all you might need for cooking, including the all important coffee-maker and filters. Top this with an awesome lake view and you have the makings of a great Rangeley vacation. This camp is well lived-in, well-loved and feels like a home.

  • The location of the home is excellent with great views. The inside is charming and warming. Krissy had great communication and it was a breeze staying at her home. If we are back in the area we would definitely like to stay again.

  • Brimwater was a perfect spot for a friend vacation with kids. We loved having the access to the water and the use of the canoe and kayaks. There were so many fun indoor activities to entertain the kids—Clue was a big hit. The kitchen was very well equipped which made it easy for us to do a lot of cooking. The town of Rangeley is about a five minute drive away, and the hosts offer extensive suggestions on hikes to restaurants to more. The house was comfortable, and the views of the lake were spectacular. We also loved the deck!

The natural beauty and wealth of outdoor treasures of Maine's Rangeley Lakes Region long have lured visitors. Abnaki Indians set up hunting and fishing camps alongside the area's 111 lakes and ponds. They were followed by well-to-do "flatlanders" (anyone from south of New Hampshire) who, around the time of the Civil War, were drawn to the Region by the same outdoor activities that had attracted the Abnakis. Today, the Rangeley Lakes Region continues to draw vacationers seeking a year-round playground. Its setting, recreational opportunities, and other attributes also have gained wider recognition. Rand McNally included the area -- along with major cities, popular national parks, and other much larger, better-known destinations -- on its list of "best vacation places in America." The tiny town of Rangeley, with 1,200 permanent residents, is perched at the center of this enticing vacation region. The little village captures the quaint nostalgia of a Norman Rockwell painting. Main Street is lined by single-story frame buildings that house shops, a handful of restaurants, and a small movie theater. No stop lights interrupt the sparse flow of traffic, much of it cars with a canoe on top and huge trucks groaning beneath loads of fresh-cut logs. Nearby Oquossoc (Indian for "landing place") is even smaller. Perched between Rangeley and Mooselookmeguntic Lakes, it is home to three restaurants, a small grocery store, a fishing and sports shop, a marina, post office, and folks who really like the quiet. This picture-postcard scene varies little throughout the year. Yet each season in the Rangeley Lakes Region offers its own choice of activities for which the landscape and lakes provide a perfect setting. Fishing is what helped bring Rangeley to the attention of the outside world; and anglers who test their skill and luck, especially in the spring and fall, soon learn why. Around the turn of the century, these were the best-known native brook trout waters in the world, yielding giants so huge that visitors had trouble believing they were brookies. Later, stocked landlocked salmon took hold and joined trout as a choice catch. Today's visitor may pursue the descendants of lunker trout and salmon that have made the Region a fishing mecca, particularly for fly casting. Hikers follow trails that criss-cross the woods. Others prefer the stretch of the Maine-to-Georgia Appalachian Trail that passes within nine miles of Rangeley. Mountain bikes enable even inexperienced peddlers to traverse country roads that follow the rolling hills, while steeper mountains challenge the most seasoned expert. The Mingo Springs Golf Course is played and praised by duffers and low handicappers alike. It is known as one of the most scenic layouts in all of New England, with Saddleback Mountain rising to the east and meandering lakes stretching as far as the eye can see to the west. Those who prefer water to dry land take to the Rangeley chain of lakes in canoes, sail and power boats, and old-fashioned Rangeley boats -- unique wooden crafts that were built specifically for local lake travel. In recent years, windsurf sails have joined in, taking advantage of breezes that blow down onto the lake waters from the surrounding mountains. Fall gives Mother Nature an opportunity to put on her most dazzling Technicolor display. Splashes of vivid reds, flaming oranges, and a full rainbow of colors are set off by the blue lake waters. Fall also demonstrates why the Rangeley Lakes Region is popular with hunters. Trophy white-tail deer and bear are abundant. Small game flourishes in fields and forests. Ruffed grouse are among game birds that take flight at the sound of an approaching footstep. Those interested in close encounters with wildlife also have plenty of opportunities. Early morning canoeists on the Kennebago River look for deer, osprey, beaver, otter, mink, and the gigantic moose. Another good bet for meeting moose is during a dawn or dusk drive out of town on Route 16. Winter in Rangeley is synonymous with some of the best snowmobiling anywhere. A 150-mile network of clearly marked, well-groomed trails interconnects with other systems that lead throughout Maine and into Canada. A season-long calendar of races, festivals, and other special events attracts snowmobile enthusiasts from near and far. For up-to-date conditions December through April, call the Snowmobile Trail Condition Hotline. Skiing is also first rate. Saddleback remains the last uncrowded big mountain ski experience in New England. The 4,116-foot high peak boasts 40 Alpine trails and plenty of lift capacity. Top-to-bottom snowmaking augments over 200 inches of annual snowfall to keep slopes open and active from November into April. For a current trail-condition report, call the Saddleback Sno-Phone. Cross-country skiers may follow nearly 25 km of trails through rolling woodlands at Saddleback Ski Area or enjoy the meticulously-groomed and tracked 75-km Rangeley Lakes Cross Country Ski Trail System located just outside of Rangeley Village, maintained by the Rangeley Lakes Cross-Country Ski Club. More adventurous ski tour participants prefer to venture off along the network of logging roads and other side trails that lace the surrounding woods.
  • Theresa’s place on the mountain is exceptional. Great location to town, the lake, and all things fun in Rangeley. The home had amazing views, spacious, and a wonderful host who was prompt in her responses and helped make our stay possible. I recommend staying in her home, I’m hoping to visit again.

    Alessandra2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing view and wonderful house will definitely stay again. Trails are right by the house very convenient for snow machines.

    Denise2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I had a wonderful time staying at Theresa's place. There was plenty of room and supplies to make all 5 meals over the weekend and there was a ton of books and board games to entertain ourselves. We also took advantage of the DVDs she had! It was the perfect relaxing weekend and it was close enough to rangeley lake that we walked to it (I would recommend driving though) and snow shoed across the lake. Thanks so much for hosting us at your place Theresa. We will always remember this trip.

  • Whether you have been to Rangeley Lake area before or if you have never been, once you stay at Eagles Rest you will want to return again and again. Truly a gem !

    Beth2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was the second time my family stayed at Eagle’s Rest. We love it! Amazing views, comfortable, convenient to Rangeley

    Ariel2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a stunning home. The view of the lake and the mountains is outstanding and the tree colors were incredible and intensified while we were there. There are many windows and the place has therefore a lot of natural light. We truly felt at home - including our dog who in particular enjoyed the sunny loft and the big windows. The grocery store and town with several restaurants are just down the road. I can highly recommend this home if you are looking for a place in the Rangeley area. We would certainly consider to go back! Our only issue was that the internet kept dropping which was a bit inconvenient since we had to do some work while there.

  • Our family of four, with two young kids, had a very nice and relaxing stay at Rusty and Lisa’s cabin. We stayed here at the peak of Coronavirus hysteria and it was so great to unplug and get away from it all for a couple days. The cabin was exceptionally clean and there was great communication in advance of the trip to confirm that it was safe for them and us to continue with our plans. Rusty greeted us shortly after our arrival to show us around the house and made us feel very comfortable. That was very important as this was probably the most remote place I have ever been and certainly the most remote place I’ve been with my family....I have camped and all but I’m no Eagle Scout. There is no wi-fi at the house (which is great and should not be changed) and cell coverage is limited if you’re on AT&T so just be prepared for that. We spent two days at the house, went skiing at Sunday River for a half day and the rest of the time we played in the yard, made some great meals and just relaxed. It was great and we would love to return in the future

  • Exceptionally clean, neat and well-appointed cabin in the woods. If you love nature to play in or just relax, this is the perfect place. There is everything you could possibly need/want. They've thought of everything! The screened porch is huge and great, I imagine, all seasons but we were there in the winter and we loved it to suit up for snowmobiling. Book this place and you won't be disappointed!

Perched on ski slopes of Saddleback Mountain, this high end 2 bedroom condo has great views overlooking the valley. Ski out the back door in winter or hike/fish/kayak in summer (boat included). NOTE: Saddleback lifts are closed until further notice. However, there is lots of snow shoeing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, and cross country skiing in the area. The Nordic Center is completely open.
The entire condo is rented for you and your company. Private and quiet location with beautiful scenery. A true get away. Sitting on the Adirondack chairs on the back deck overlooking the valley is a highlight, or hang with your company telling stories around the fireplace.
Condo is a 5-10min walk from Saddleback Ski Lodge. Activities exist in the winter and intermittently in the summer. Other condos are also present on the mountain, but privacy and quiet is typical. In summer, you may be the only ones in the area.
  • The pictures simply do not do this place justice. I thought it looked nice on the the website - it was way, way better in person! A great place, with plenty of room for two couples and kids (or more couples if they are OK with bunk beds) If you are going to the Rangeley Lake/Saddlebaack area, you are going to be very hard pressed to beat this.

  • We had a wonderful stay. The space was clean, roomy and well heated. Kitchen was well equipped and bathrooms were clean and hot water ready! It is a bit of the beaten path but we knew that before booking and the benefits of rooms and price made it well worth it.

  • Salinan's place is just terrific. The house has a very open floor plan that is inviting, and it came supplied with coffee, filters, paper towels, all that stuff needed for a four night stay. I highly recommend it and hope to stay again.

  • The location is great if you're hiking in the Carrabassett Valley area. Also, the photos and description don't do it justice. This AirBnB is even nicer than it's represented through photos and description.

Escape to a beautiful rustic getaway where you are surrounded by natural beauty, local charm, and the great outdoors! Our sweet cabin is secluded, but just a walk to the nearest boat dock and the fine dining and drinks offered by the Bald Mountain Camps Resort. Kick back in the hammock, go for a hike, canoe around the lake, or grab a drink across the street or in town for the ultimate relaxing experience!
Experience a throwback to a slower pace of life. Without running water, our camp DOES HAVE a very clean composting outhouse, a sink for washing dishes with a large water dispenser, and ELECTRICITY and HEAT. Also, we have a camping sun shower available for use. We do not offer Wi-Fi, but the cabin and surrounding area has very good cell service and LTE. There is no stove inside the cabin but there is a single electric burner in the house which you can cook on as well as a chef’s knife, cutting boards, and pans for your use. We always find cooking very enjoyable on the gas grill which is available to guests, although there are many great local eats!
-15 minutes from the town of Rangeley which offers a variety of restaurants, gift shops, C-plane tours, a large grocery store, laundromat, boat rentals, mountain bike rentals, public beach and park, Rangeley State Park -5 minutes from Ocquossoc center which includes a grocery/general store, farm fresh market, restaurants, public bathrooms, sporting goods store with canoe rentals -1/4 mile from the public boat launch -less than 1/2 mile from Bald Mountain hiking trails with great views -Mooselookmeguntic Lake is on one side and Rangeley Lake on the other -Fishing streams nearby as well as rivers to tube/canoe down -3 minute walk to the Bald Mountain Camps which offers fine dining, drinks, a beautiful view of the lake and motorboat rentals -short drive to many local hiking trails and ATV trails -Appalachian Trail nearby
  • This was a perfect retreat for two. The cabin is really nice and has an authentic feel to it which is just what I was looking for. Excellent location.

  • Nicely secluded cabin in Rangeley Lakes area (a beautiful part of Maine). My family and I enjoyed our stay at this basic cabin. It is exactly as described, but so worth the privacy in a touristy area. Perfect for our family with our 2 toddlers.

    Syerus2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Cute place, and just what we needed for a weekend away. While rustic, the beds were extremely comfortable!

    Lauren2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Abby's cabin is great! The location is great. Being close to the Bald Mountain Camp was very conveniently close by and a quick drive to the public dock (don't miss the sunset!) and into town. We would definitely come back!

    Kalie & Lawson2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Abby is very sweet, and provided us with all the information we needed! Read the reviews, lots of helpful tips and I was able to find the place by using Waze even with arriving at dark! The propane heater was nice as it was a bit chillier in temperature outside! We very much enjoyed the time to wind down and relax.

    Mandii2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great, quiet, peaceful, and still close to both towns for local fun!

    Chris2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! Would definitely stay here again. Location is pretty great and quiet as not many close neighbors. 10/10

    Michael2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time exploring the Rangeley lakes area. Abby’s cabin is in a great location to see the Mooselookmeguntic and Rangeley Lakes. My family and I hiked a lot and explored Angel Falls, Coos Canyon, Smalls Falls, Cascade Stream Gorge, and Rangeley Lake State Park. Swimming at Rangeley Lake State Park and Smalls Falls are the best. The falls are COLD! Abby’s cabin is exactly as she described. It’s sparkling clean and had enough room for my family of 4. We filled our water jugs at King’s Spring once and at Rangeley Lake State Park another time. You can also buy firewood at the State park and it’s really good wood. Here are a few suggestions that might help to make your stay better... 1) Don’t worry about the outhouse. It’s clean and spider free (a BIG concern for my wife, LOL). 2) Cooking- Although there is a hot plate in the cabin, we didn’t use it. We brought our propane Coleman camp stove and cooked on that. But in reality we could have skipped that because there is a nice gas grill which has a side burner you can cook on as well. There were a few frying pans and some cooking utensils available but no pot for heating up water for dishes. We bought our “Camp Kitchen” so we had everything we needed. There is also a full size fridge and freezer which will provide plenty of room for food. We brought 6 days of food with us and had room to spare. Tip: We had brought a case of bottled water with us to drink. We filled up the empty bottles and threw them in the freezer to use as ice packs for our day trips and the trip home. 3) Campfire- The fire pit is really nice. Abby also provided some chairs for outdoor use so we could have left ours at home. 4) The cabin- Beds were comfortable. My wife and I slept in the master bedroom and our kids shared the other bed in the 2nd bedroom. I can’t comment on the pillows because we bring our own when we travel. One thing to note, the 2nd bedroom doesn’t have a door or even a curtain for privacy. Might be an issue or not, but something to consider. After the kids went to bed, if my wife and I weren’t sitting around the campfire we actually sat in the garage and watched some movies on the iPad. Since there is no bedroom door on the “kids” room, it was difficult to hang out inside after they went to bed and not bother them trying to sleep. 5) Hygiene- Our family stayed for 6 days so there was definitely a need to bathe. We planned our activities each day so there was swimming involved. That helped. We didn’t use the sun shower but it was available. Here’s a tip and your mileage may vary on this one. Rangeley Lake State Park is a short drive down the road. I don’t think you’d have any issues driving in to the campground after dinner and use their showers. We spent the afternoon at the beach there one day and I had no issues, buying firewood, driving through the campground portion, and filling up the water jugs. 6) Other things that may help- We have AT&T for cell providers and I can tell you that you will 100% definitely NOT have any cell service at the cabin and in the immediate area around Rangeley Lake. You can get some 3G if you drive down Rt 17 to the 1st scenic overlook on the left. If you have AT&T and use your phone for GPS navigation, you will need a back up plan. Also, just put Bald Mountain Camps in your GPS as the physical address of the cabin is in the wrong spot on Google Maps, Waze, Apple Maps, and Navigon but Bald Mountain Camps gets you close enough. WiFi- Bald Mountain Camps has some WiFi you can get on if you stand in the right spot. Also “The OG” (Oquossoc Grocery) has free WiFi. The OG has very limited groceries but there is an IGA in Rangeley. Also, definitely stop and pick up the Rangeley Lake free map at the OG. It has all the area attractions on it as well as the routes for the scenic drives.

  • Highly recommend Barbara’s spot! 4 of us stayed for a ski weekend at Sugarloaf and found it spacious, convenient, cozy, and absolutely perfect for what we were looking for. They offered snow shoes to explore and had convenient food spots along the way - highly recommended rolling fatties or orange cat cafe. Would absolutely stay again.
