  • We had a great time at Seans cabin. We had a little trouble with the lockbox which was my bad. We had to call Sean. He called right back and we were able to get in. Sean offered the use of the propaine heater as well as the mini split since the temperature dropped below 20 deg. At night. We did not need to use it. The temperature was comfortable

  • Great spot, cool cabin with all the comforts of home and the sauna was a relaxing touch. Our host gave us wonderful suggestions for activities and restaurants to try and was quick to answer any questions. We look forward to another visit very soon!

  • A cute little cabin with phenomenal views. The space in the cabin had everything my girlfriend and I were looking for: a cozy bed, a nice kitchen, and an amazing view of the mountains. Super awesome that the cabin had snow shoes to use too! Overall, a wonderful place to stay in the White Mountains. Would highly recommend it.

  • Our favorite place to stay in the winter. This was our second stay. Cozy, comfortable, and feels like home. Everything you need is available. Very private and quiet. Views are beautiful, seeing the sunrise every morning and the stars at night is incredible. The wood sauna is such a nice touch. Definitely would recommend if you’re looking for a getaway!

    Olivia2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful quiet remote area with amazing views. We snowshoed on a closed road that’s right next to the property without seeing anyone for almost two hours. We could also get to many tourist destination places - North Conway Diana’s Baths etc easily - road was well maintained in mid February. We were two adults with one small geriatric dog who wanted exactly what we got: low key quiet clean and beautiful New England escape

    Susie2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Sean’s cabin. It was a great weekend and it’s exactly as advertised. Unfortunately we arrived late Friday night on a frigid night and the lockbox outside of the cabin was completely frozen shut. We had no choice after many hours of calling air bnb support but to sleep in the back on my truck. Despite this hiccup Sean refunded us the whole weekend and we will 100% be returning. We 1000% recommend this cabin it is DREAM for a couple looking for a getaway. My girlfriend and I loved it! Thanks again Sean!!!

    Aj2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great place! It makes for the perfect weekend away. It’s far enough away but still close enough to North Conway to enjoy a day there. Wish we knew about the fee for the Sauna but it still didn’t change how much we enjoyed our stay. Would 100% recommend!

    Shane2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second time staying at Sean’s place (which says something in itself). It’s so quiet and peaceful out there. It was pretty clear so the stars were amazing!! Last time I was there I wrote a review and said something small that would have been nice - and this time he made the minor change - I was grateful for the thoughtfulness. The place is perfect - and if anyone is debating - I would definitely recommend the sauna! It’s such a great way to end the day!! Enjoy!

Chic style with all the comforts of home. Lots of custom woodwork. Parking directly in front of entrance. 2 Miles from coffee shop and restaurants. 35 min to Cannon, Under 30 min from Waterville, Loon, and lots of hiking trails.
The space is the entire first floor of our place. It has its own entrance, entry way/mud room area for shoes, coats and other outdoor stuff. Then an all open concept with a full bath. We have done all our own custom wood trim work to give a unique quality look and feel you won’t find anywhere else.
Our neighborhood is a farm type setting. 2 of our neighbors have horses and so do we. There is a nice field next to us and down across the road as well. Beautiful views in the winter when the leaves are off the trees. We are close to many good restaurants and even a couple breweries. Campton Mountain is a small ski area with a chair lift and rope row open for night skiing on Friday and Saturday nights. Waterville, Loon, and Cannon mountain are all within 20-35 min. Mount Washington and Bretton woods are under an hour. There is lots of hiking close by as well as the Pemi and Mad River to enjoy in the warmer months for kayaking, swimming, and fishing.
  • Ally and Bert’s place was beautiful and had everything you could possibly need! It felt very cozy, almost like home and at times, we found it hard to leave to explore NH because we were just so comfortable! Ally and Bert are a lovely couple and accommodated our needs very well as well as responded in a timely manner. We most definitely enjoyed our stay!

    Jennifer2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Ally and Bert's place was amazing. Their place was beautiful and super clean and they even provided a binder of very useful information for the stay

    Jerry2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place to stay in a really cute and quaint location. Ally and Bert’s communication was second to none and their place was in museum like condition. It’s in a perfect location minutes off the highway and 20 minutes from either Loon or Waterville. Can’t wait to come back

    Jonathan2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

    Alex2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and private. I didn't expect the toiletries or wine that was waiting for us. Ally and Bert were great hosts and quickly responded to our questions. We would definitely stay here again!

Because of the difficult times we all now live in regarding Covid19 I have closed the camp until the end of May 2020. Please feel to reach out if there are any questions. ~Steve Bartlett Woodsmoke. A crisp star filled sky. A fire crackles inside. Welcome to Ole Isre Camp and your quiet winter getaway on the farm. It’s the perfect soul recharging place to just exist or use as a base camp for your next outdoor adventure.
What it lacks in style it makes up for in charm and authenticity. Located adjacent to a working organic farm at the southern edge of the White Mountain National Forest in the picturesque New England town of Center Sandwich, New Hampshire. The camp is 3 miles from “downtown” which has a local coffee shop and local restaurant and pub. Trailhead up Mt.Israel is 5 minutes away giving access to an amazing local hike! Endless hiking of all levels is 20 minutes away into Sandwich Notch and the southern Whites. Easier trails are walking distance from the camp. Squam Lake and Lake Winnipesauke provide year round water activities including boating, swimming and fishing. The nearest grocery store is 20 minutes south. North Conway is 45 minutes north.
The stars. The trees. The moose. The babbling brook. Maple syrup. Baa’ing sheep. Welcome to our farm.
  • A wonderfully quaint scenic place to stay. Stephen had the fire roaring for us when we came in for the night. Highly recommend.

    Dylan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing!

    Zach2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Old Isre Camp is a beautiful place in a beautiful location. Steve is an incredible host, always there instantaneously when needed with a big bright smile. We stayed toasty warm despite the -10 degree temps. Keep in mind that this is a little bit like camping - you're using a portable gas stove, a woodstove to stay warm, and no running water (in winter) or electricity. This is what We wanted so it was wonderful, but be sure you know !

    Adlai2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A great place and host!

    Shane2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cabin was just as advertised and owner was friendly and gave a great orientation to the space when we arrived. Very rustic, but we knew that and were looking forward to it.

    Leah2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Ole Isre Camp is a gem. My gf and I were looking for somewhere low-key and affordable to stay before going on an early morning hike in the White Mountains. Ole Isre Camp was WAY more than we expected. The cabin is set on a farm with views of mountains through the trees. Although there is no electricity or traditional heat, the wood stove keeps the camp PLENTY warm and the solar powered lighting lights the camp sufficiently. The propane camp stove allows for making coffee, cooking dinner just like a normal kitchen does. What really makes this place charming is all of the additional touches...fully stocked game cabinet, climbing/hiking books about the White Mountsins and Adirondacks, topographical maps about the surrounding areas, etc. Needless to say, I’ll definitely be making a trip back to Ole Ire Camp.

It is also close to Mills Falls in Meredith, close to skiing, casual and fine dining, art shops, wineries, theatre, art and antique shops, just minutes to 2 - 4 hour hikes with great views of White Mountains and Lake Winnepesaukee, a beautiful Association Beach, and family-friendly activities. You’ll love my place because of the comfy bed, the kitchen, the high ceilings, its cleanliness, and coziness. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
This home is located in a very desirable, private community that has very few, if any, rentals available. It is a large cul-de-sac, so walking and biking are recommended as it has very little car traffic.
The neighbor hood consists of 4 streets that interconnect in a large "cul-de-sac". Perfect for walking, running, rollerblading, and biking without ever going on the main road. Quiet and little traffic make it very safe and enjoyable.
  • Our group had a lovely time at Cathy's. Would definitely recommend to friends. Very New Hampshire!

  • Such a great place to stay....lots of room and great patio area! Host was great about giving us suggestions to make our trip the best!!!

  • This home in Meredith is very spacious and comfortable. It is close to town and not far from Center Harbor as well so it’s so convenient to many great spots in the lakes region. We had a lot of family staying for a wedding and so we were happy to spread out and not be in the local inn which is beautiful but not as personal. All in all the communication was terrific and our host made it easy to just check in and and feel like the home was ours for the weekend. Thanks for making our stay so wonderful.

    Nancy2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy lake house with pretty front yard and porch. Screened in porch in back. Nice Would stay there again.

    Lois2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • The home has a nice cabin/lodge feel and definitely fits in with being in New Hampshire in lake country. There are 5 bedrooms, and one on the main floor. Turnkey ready as home supplied with a full kitchen, laundry on premises, plenty of cooking equipment, towels, linens, soaps, etc. The host and hostess are both very helpful and available for any needs or questions from the guests. They know the area well and thus can provide touring tips to those who need them. It is a very nice place to stay.

    William2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Cathy’s house in Meredith is wonderful & anything you could wish for is there - she has supplied everything. It’s immaculately clean & tidy & is in the most peaceful area not far from the lake shore. We had a fabulous time there & would highly recommend it to anyone.

Authentically Rustic, Quintessentially Cozy Writer's Cottage #323 is tucked into a wooded area on White Gates Farm. Equipped with kitchen, bathroom, outdoor shower, wifi on the farm. Cottage comes with bacon and eggs for your breakfast and all you can eat "pick your own" vegetables during your stay. Hike in the area, visit the village of Tamworth, bike ride, or just stay on the farm. You can even pitch in with chores during certain hours. Well behaved pets on leashes welcomed.
White Gates Farm is a working farm. We raise Blonde D'Aquitaine Beef Cattle and laying hens year round, broiler chickens and pigs in the summer. There are two high tunnel greenhouses, a starter house, and gardens. The hosts live in the farmhouse on the property. The farm hosts pizza nights with live music on many Friday nights in the summer and fall. As well, they host a farm to table dinner tour several times during the warm season. The views are wonderful. A swimming pond is available. The area has many hiking trails, and Tamworth is becoming a destination. North Conway is a short 30 minute drive in one direction and Meredith is 30 minutes in the other direction.
The farm is on a rural road, four miles from the town of Tamworth. The land borders North Sandwich. The village of Tamworth is a great place to visit, with the Remick Farm and Country Doctor Museum, The Tamworth Distillery, The Barnstormers Summer Theater, The Tamworth Lyceum, The Other Store, the Tamworth Historical Society Building, Whippletree Winery, The Farmstand "Feel the Barn" concert series....etc.
  • This place was my favorite spot I have ever stayed at through Airbnb. So warm and cozy with lots of personal touches. Heather, Hank and Hecta were great hosts- making sure we had everything we needed. The property is beautiful to explore and the farm fresh eggs and bacon were greatly appreciated. I would recommend this cabin over and over again!

    Sara2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Heather and Hank's was beyond my expectations. From the very beginning, Heather was thoughtful and responsive in her messages via Airbnb and provided thorough directions for getting to the cabin. I arrived on a Friday night and was welcomed by Heather and invited over for pizza. Freshly made brick oven pizza made by Hank and the team was just what I needed after a long drive north. I actually had it twice during my stay as Heather and Hank had pizza and a live band on Sunday, which Heather let me check out far beyond the standard 11am checkout for. The cottage itself was clean and styled with unique vintage pieces, plenty of blankets and comforters and cozy bathrobes for the chilly nights I spent. The farm fresh bacon and eggs in the fridge were my favorite part! So good! I even took some home along with some other farm raised beef and pork. For those looking to travel solo or with your pup as I did, this is a perfect spot. I felt safe and close enough to the farm house if in fact I did need anything, but far enough away that I felt secluded. I will also add, this is perfect for an "unplugged" stay... it was refreshing to not have a tv or wifi and gave me a chance to get some reading done. I cannot wait to come and stay again... my only complaint was that I should've stayed longer! Thank you both for the hospitality! -Liz and Lucy

    Elizabeth2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is small and comfortable but does not feel cramped at all. Plus furnished with an eclectic choice of secondhand furniture, utensils, etc. There is Everything you need to cook your own meals, including the freedom to pick veggies from their gardens. You can walk to the farmhouse in less than five minutes but it is so quiet at the cabin that you feel like you’re off in the woods—though it is a working farm, so sometimes you hear that, including Rocket the rooster in the morning. Also an eight minute drive into Tamworth Center. I could not have loved it more.

    Ondine2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • I have known the Letartes for many years and it is great to see the farm thriving and everyone doing great. What a lovely place.

    Sean2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Heather and Hank are warm, friendly and extraordinary hosts. The cabin was cozy and thoughtfully prepared for us, with things such as bathrobes, firewood, a Bluetooth radio/speaker, toaster & coffee pot, and delicious bacon & eggs. The farm is beautiful too. We had a wonderful & memorable visit.

    Cathy2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • I was looking for a weekend getaway and found the writers cottage and it was a perfect find. The outdoor shower is amazing, and the cottage was perfect, very clean and exactly what I was looking for. Staying right near the farm was perfect, Hank invited my girlfriend and I to explore the farm and even pick some tomatoes we cooked up for breakfast with the most delicious bacon from the farm (eggs are delicious too). Hank was very happy and quick to help with anything we need and very knowledgeable about the area, on our way out, he helped us find a good day hiking trip and it was perfect! Definitely recommend staying and if you can make pizza night ive heard great things !

    Alex2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Well, where to begin. My boyfriend and I (and our pup!) were looking for a place to get away, do some hiking, and just enjoy nature and each other. We found the writers cabin and thought if this doesn’t suite what we’re looking for, I don’t know what will. Already close to perfect, upon arriving and our stay it only got more and more amazing. The property is probably the most beautiful, peaceful places I’ve ever been. There’s nothing like waking up to see the sun rise over the mountains, and going to sleep fireside and being able to see every star in the sky. The cabin was so cozy and the perfect size! But beyond this magical place, it was worth staying there just to have met Hank and Heather. The first time we met Hank was on the property and we had an issue with the toilet which he fixed in basically a matter of minutes! Then browsing the local farmers marker we met Heather! They are the most caring, considerate, and extremely funny! people I’ve ever met. We were also fortunate to break bread with them and learn a little bit about how they made it all happen. What Hank and Heather built and what they do for the community was such a special thing to be apart of the short time we were there. We will most definitely be going back, and hopefully sooner then later!

    Nicole2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a great cottage! Full of fresh air, nice outdoor shower, nice bed and wonderful hosts that were very welcoming. An ideal rustic getaway! Friday evening pizza&music there at the farm highly recommended!!!

Whatever your reason for passing through the small villages and towns near the White Mountains, this is a charming and affordable little hideout.
Up past the barn - Large private entry bedroom at the main house, queen bed with private bath (walk in shower) and large screened porch. Beautiful, quiet, up on a ridge and way off the road on twenty five acres. Surrounded by mature trees that whisper in the wind.
In Sandwich Village amidst rivers and lakes (wonderful town beach) we have a great library, are near two others just as wonderful, have an Arts League, two coffee houses, a Pub and Restuarant (The Corner House) and serious art in The Patricia Ladd Carega Gallery right here in town. Great local produce at farmers market in the village on Wednesday and Saturday. Nearby towns have lakeside dining and shops; largest quilt store in America s one town away. Light as well as serious hiking opportunities abound nearby as well as within an hour's drive.
  • Cool place! Lots of art. Large grounds that are beautiful. Cute cats and dog. Would stay again!

    Adrienne2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first Airbnb experience and it was a wonderful visit. Jan was the perfect host and her place, in a quiet and secluded spot in small town NH, exceeded my expectations. The private room and bath were excellent, cozy and comfortable with the perfect touch of classic charm. There is a beautiful screened porch with lots of places to sit and read or just listen to the trees and breathe in the fresh air.

    Evie2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jan is a wonderful host. She went above and beyond in many ways. The place was very clean in a separate suite on the ground floor, which made coming and going very easy. I have a low sitting sports car and driving on the unpaved driveway wasn’t an issue. I highly recommend staying here if you plan on being in the area.

    Patrick2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely spot in woodlands, with interesting and original furnishings, plus a large screened porch where you can have your meals. Wireless reception is iffy, so come prepared to rest, relax, and detach from your digital world. Jan is a great host, both available and respectful.

    Frances2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Jan’s, and brought our 9-year old daughter. We enjoyed Monster the cat, and relaxing on the porch in the mornings and evenings. Such a great space! Jan has so many unique touches, including fresh flowers in the bathroom. It’s very clean, good natural light, and fresh air coming in all the windows. Jan had great ideas of things to do in the area. You must go to the potholes on the Cold River, not far from Jan’s house. The Sandwich Creamery nearby is a must too! We didn’t make it to the town beach or Rattlesnake Mountains(per Jan’s suggestion) but more to do next time :-) It’s just beautiful countryside, and the ride to Santa’s Village is gorgeous. It’s about 1 hr 45 minutes. We even saw some bear! You will not regret staying with Jan 💗

    Kellie2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jan was very kind and accommodating. The room was spacious and the porch was a lovely place to hang out- wish we’d have been able to stay longer!

    Kim2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Jan has a fantastically secluded property. I was out and about for most of my stay, which is unfortunate, because it’s a great place to just hang out. The room was very clean and comfortable. I saw two young black bears crossing the road during my short stay. That might be commonplace for NH residents, but it was a treat for me.

  • Lovely place!! Quaint and sweet vibe, there was a cozy wood fire lit at night in the living room. Zach is super friendly and helpful. Kitchen is well stocked. Yummy bagels for breakfast. Would recommend!

    Phoebe2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! Secluded location in the white mountains. Zachary was a great host and was beyond flexible when we had to change our check in time. The home is a old farmhouse with a very welcoming dog.

  • We had a lovely stay at Zachary's place. Finding the house was a bit difficult (we didn't have AppleMaps) but Zachary was very responsive and helpful to lead us. Would definitely recommend!

  • Zachary is a kind and generous host. He was around to greet us when we arrived. He went above and beyond for us as we were unable to find a dog sitter. I asked if we could bring our dog, telling him we would keep our dog in the car while we were attending a wedding. He graciously offered to watch Buddy and took really great care. He gave us good advice on a nice hiking spot. Zachary’s place isn’t fancy, but if you like the country farmhouse vibe this is the place for you. We hope to be back!

  • Zack is a great host. The house is peaceful and comfortable. It is in a great location for winter sports.

  • Big house with a nice private bedroom. Living room with fireplace was great for relaxing by. Large fenced backyard for our dog to run around

  • Great place with a lot of character. Zach really went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and was super friendly. We enjoyed meeting him and chatting. It was a little loud with the other guests there but Zach promptly asked them to quiet down, I think he was disturbed too. Thanks for being a dog lover and for taking care of us in our stay, Zach!

  • This home has incredible views! Located in a beautiful and quiet spot, great access to hiking trails and swimming spots. Comfortable and well-appointed.

  • A true retreat. Lynne's place has the most amazing views and is the perfect place to unwind. We spent most of our time on the deck, soaking it in. Add in the guidebook she had complied and you have the insider's scoop on activities in the area. We especially liked her recommended hike to the fire tower. Incredible 360 views and we were the only people around. Lynne offered great touches, including fresh flowers from the garden, food for the hummingbird feeder, and the option to take any ripe food from the garden (we had some delicious sugar snap peas). A wonderful experience!

    Christina2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • A truly wonderful house in the woods and near beautiful mountains, lakes, rivers, towns, and wildlife. Lynne's place is simply awesome and perfect for those that want to be close to nature and small towns. The stars at night were stunning (I've never seen so many). Cooking in Lynne's spacious kitchen was a treat in itself (check the farmers' market for tasty ingredients), but made even more memorable by the frequent hummingbird visits near the pear tree just outside the window (we also saw wild turkeys, hawks, deer, birds, etc). Cool town just a few minutes away---the local theater for a live play Sunday night was great. Picking blueberries and some beet greens on Lynne's property was fun and delicious; so was drinking coffee and reading a book to the tunes of nature early mornings. Took a ride through the White Mountains, hiked a bit, and relaxed on the Swift River...and met a moose. The house itself was more than we could ask for and even better than advertised (it is super cozy, clean, and ... yeah... the kitchen and kitchen supplies... miss it already...and the books!). Relaxing and refreshing location, quiet and private but a short drive through the woods and hills leads you right into the coolest small town. My intention was to stay at Lynne's place to disconnect... one way to put it... but luckily ended up connecting to the truly important things...another way to put it. Can't wait to return! Thank you Lynne.

    Paulo2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • The house was wonderful--clean, bright, rustic in the best sense. The photos don't do justice to the setting or the charm of the house. Lynne graciously allowed us to check-in early and drop our things before heading off on one of the many incredible hikes in the area. Several--Mount Chocura, Mount Whiteface and others--are within a few minutes drive of the house. The bookshelf in the living room has a glorious collection of guide books on everything from birds to alpine wilderness to mushrooms. We are looking forward to staying here again.

    Richard2016-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a simply wonderful experience at the house. Lynne was very responsive and helpful by text and available by phone. This place is even better than the photos, with amazing views, a really wonderfully equipped kitchen, rustic feel with seemingly brand new conveniences like washer/dryer. Sprint cell phones worked fine and no internet was just what we needed to unplug for a 10 day stay. Some highlights for us were using the fire pit outside, amazing hiking near by, how kid-friendly the house and yard are, introducing our daughter to compost and chasing crickets, local farms for produce, meat and dairy, birdwatching, and even spying a porcupine eating from the pear tree in the yard at night! We used the available tamworth facilities pass to visit PotHole swimming area nearby and it was probably the best swimming hole/river rock area my husband or I have ever seen. Thanks, Lynne!

Our home boasts a quiet country setting, 1 bedroom, 1 bath, air conditioning and heat as necessary, large deck with screen house. Slightly off the beaten path and nestled within the Lakes Region, minutes from Lake Winnipesaukee, 3 miles from Castle in the Clouds and many hiking trails close by. We live in a tourist area so for a short drive you can see much. We also offer coffee/tea and some sort of pastry in the morning.
1 Full Size Bed, 1 Dresser, 1 Bath, Living Room, Kitchen, Large Deck with Screen Tent and Fire Pit.
We live in a small town, so we have a place called Cup and Crumb coffee shop and a place called The Old Country Store that is well known state wide. In the next town over and with some good direction, you will find the Sandwich Creamery that works on the honor system for payment of the ice cream they sell.
  • My wife and I stayed at Brenda and Lou's home during a hiking trip in the White Mountains over Labor Day weekend, and we had a wonderful time. Lou was warm and extremely welcoming, and check-in was a breeze. The guest room was beautifully and cozily decorated and contained several maps and pamphlets detailing activities and restaurants in the area. Brenda prepared homemade muffins, an assortment of fruit, and a variety of teas and coffee for us each morning, which were great starts before a day of hiking. We will certainly come back in the future!

    Evan2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The most incredible hosts we’ve encountered so far and we’ve traveled over 5200 miles in the last 11 months. Immaculate house, beautiful gardens, heavenly surroundings & the best black lab in the world. All of the special touches that these lovely people offered we have never encountered before. We will be back to stay with them again next year without fail.

    Jo2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding hospitality by Lou and Brenda! We had only one night stay with them but hands down they are one of the bests Airbnb hosts we ever had! They accommodated our check in request, gave clear instructions, left notes with guidance in the house, prepared breakfast snacks and made sure to meet us before we left. My husband and I had a great time chatting with Lou and playing fetch with their dog Luke, who’s one super friendly fella :) Just keep in mind that the mattress is super soft, which was absolutely fine for my husband but not for me. Even with my back pain we still had A+++ experience! Hopefully we will be back again! Thank you Brenda and Lou!

  • Roberts Cabin was such a nice way to spend a night in the mountains. Nice view in the morning and if you're lucky enough to catch a rainfall at night it truly makes the experience even more special. We loved all the tips for things to do in the area. We would definitely stay here again.

    George2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at this adorable location for 3 nights. It is nicely nestled in between the lakes and Mountains regions of NH. It is advertised for having cable which it does not when I sent a message to the host I got no response, which was odd because he had been pretty good about responding to my other messages. Come to find out the host now lives in Florida and is selling his properties, which I learned when I ran into the relator. So may explain why no cable and not responding to my questions. I am glad that I got to experience NH and have a true New England cabin experience.

    Lauren2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Roberts place is perfect for a getaway to get away from it all or to hike. The directions to get there are very helpful. We didn’t get to meet Robert but he was very responsive with messages. The space was as described and clean!

    Cristen And Quentin2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent first Airbnb experience. We didn’t decide to stay until very late in the day. Robert had amazing response time, and got the place set up right away. We weren’t able to get done with our job until midnight, and that was no problem at all. It was the perfect place to get recharged after a super long work day! Clean, and warm, with a piping hot shower. Would stay again for sure.

If you can not tell from the pictures, the site is nice and remote and very quiet, while the cabin itself is adjacent to another house (backyard essentially).

  • The house is spacious and comfortable. And the dining table is huge! So comfortable for our family visit. It was so peaceful. Watching the sheep graze was a treat! The town beach on Squam Lake is perfect and even has lifeguard hours. Don’t miss sunset over the lake and mountains from the beach! Good proximity to Meredith and Lake Winnipesaukee as well.

  • This is a beautiful setting especially if you like peace and quiet. The lake is very close, we went every day. With 4 adults we had plenty of room to have privacy. The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to make breakfast and dinner as we chose. There is plenty to do if you enjoy scenic road trips. Our host juli was responsive from the start and available if needed. We enjoyed watching the sheep grazing. This is a beautiful setting in a beautiful area of New Hampshire. I highly recommend this spot and it’s versatile accommodations.

Plenty of rooms, wonderful, charming common space, gorgeous setting, free range eggs in the morning, a coffee roaster next door, and an easy walk to the town beach on beautiful Squam Lake and one of the best short hikes in the area. Our guests were delighted and impressed. So were we. Thank you Juli, Steve, your adorable/helpful kids and charming farm animals.

  • Zach was a great host, from personally greeting us when we arrived and assisting us with bringing in our luggage, to coming back later in the weekend and helping us build a fire in the woodburning stove, after we failed at doing it ourselves! He provided the perfect balance of giving us our personal space, while also being available very timely if we had any questions or needs. His home was very clean and it was the perfect setting for my entire family to be able to stay together for a wedding in the area. Would highly recommend to others looking to vacation in the area!

The house does not have AC but there are enough fans and dehumidifiers. It was cool enough in July at night for us to sleep. Please note, that Google maps are wrong for this address (call host) Apple maps work fine!

I appreciated the coziness of the cabin can’t wait to be back!

  • We had a wonderful time at Russ's place! It's in a beautiful spot, sparkly clean, has plenty of entertainment, and is super cozy. Also, Russ was extremely helpful and responsive before and during our stay. We'd love to go back to Russ's place during the summer!

    Ana2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Such a top notch experience. Russ is the SUPER HOST OF SUPER HOSTS!! Tremendously communicative, Russ went above and beyond, even when we had to call him regarding a cable, Russ arranged Eversource to immediately fix the minor problem. Additionally, Russ was tremendous in responding to so many questions regarding recommendations in the gorgeous area where his chalet is. We had such a tremendous getaway. We loved the open floor plan, with 360 views of the mountains. Awe inspiring! We thoroughly enjoyed all of the thoughtful amenities with everything one could possibly require for a getaway. The kitchen was tremendous, fully equipped. Again, we loved the view and the ambiance and the crystal clean chalet and the fireplace was perfection. We will be back. I'm not one to gush, but Russ and his property deserve such accolades. Don't miss this tremendous getaway, whether a couple or a family, or a girls getaway, this chalet and host are at the top of the list.

  • Stayed at Russ's amazing cabin for a ski weekend with two other couples and couldn't recommend it more. The cabin was a perfect place to relax by the fire, have some meals and take in the views before and after days on the mountain. Russ checked in with us after he noticed we lost internet due to a storm to let us know there was an issue and made himself available to us via phone throughout the trip. Couldn't recommend staying in this conveniently located, yet secluded and charming cabin enough.

  • Russ was an amazing host, he was very informative and responded almost immediately to any questions we had. My place is more like a tree house next to a lake with a foundation making it an house. Warm, inviting and updated 1950s lake house with 100+ feet of private Lake WInona frontage, private sandy beach and lake and foothills views. 4 Beds. Kitchen opens to the living and dining area. Loads of cool places to hang out, look out and read. BBQ on the awesome deck off of the the main house above the beach or the patio at the waters edge. Great light, privacy, charm and space. Perfect for families.
My house is well designed for families. The kitchen opens to the living areas and the living room and porch overlook the beach and lake. The master bedroom feels like you are in a tree house sleeping in a king sized bed in a wood paneled room surrounded by hemlock and pines. There is a cool bunk room with 3 twin beds - 2 separated by a door and one facing the water. The house sits on over an acre of land and is surrounded on the lake side by trees. Foliage, sun rises and swimming muskrats, shooting stars or just wind on the water will entertain you. The full bath with shower and tub is on the main level. There is a brand new modern bath on the second floor where the other 3 bedrooms are. The plumbing is cabin style so long showers will drain the hot water tank. Please be mindful and flush and use water respectfully.
The lake is about about 1.5 miles long with a great adventure if you are up for it. The house is on a dirt road. I feel like the lake is like the quad in college. Up here the front of the house is the lake side. The lake is really quiet because no jet skiis are allowed and there is little boat noise. Folks, instead of going for a walk and talk in the summer go for a swim. Right behind the house is a scenic rail way only used during the fall (Look up the Hobo Railroad). There is a great walk on the tracks from our lake, Winona to a small hiking trail with a great views. Literally walk out the door to go for a hike. I am big into community. The vibe around her is super warm, intellectual and really lovely. The regulars up here are bonded by a deep and unconditional love affair with the lake and the surrounding earth. I think that energy is tangible. Folks treat their land with great respect and awe. It makes our community very connected. We all seem to want to share our joy with others
  • Beautiful spot. Close enough to enjoy all the area has to offer but still have privacy. We had a very relaxing time.

  • Sparkling clean! So great to be on the lake! We took the kayak out. Pretty close to town, yet very private. Would definitely stay here again.

  • The house was in great shape and the backyard was amazing!

    Ruby2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy's place was beautiful, clean, and cozy. She was excellent with communicating and asked if we needed extra blankets and other amenities while we were staying. The space was spotless when we arrived and had a beautiful view of lake, which had a canoe, a couple kayaks, and a firepit for us to use. All amenities were there and, despite it being cold outside, we were toasty on the inside with good heating. We are looking forward to staying again sometime in the future.

    Zach2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful location right on a lake with plenty of room for large family gathering and close enough to attractions, hiking, and food, etc. High speed internet was also perfect and appreciated. Host is a great communicator and we are looking forward to booking again in the future!

    Andre2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This house was exactly what we needed for our long weekend. The beds were very comfy and Wendy provided all the the amenities needed for the lake. We would highly recommend this house for anyone wanting to visit the White Mountains.

    Nicole2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great home on Winona Lake. It was exactly what we were looking for - private, quiet, spacious, surrounded by trees, and a gorgeous view of the lake. The king-sized bed was comfortable. The shower was great. The kitchen was well equipped. It was a bit chilly in the evening, and the heater worked beautifully. Lovely views of the lake from most of the windows. Wendy was a great host. She was very responsive and provided some tips about the area. We enjoyed kayaking on the lake and some local hiking. We saw two loons daily right in front of the house. As nature lovers, it was a treat to hear the loons call, and we were even lucky enough to hear the owls outside our bedroom window one night! Thank you Wendy, for sharing your home with us!

    Renee2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great home on nice lake was real quiet when we wete there in September the master was cozy like sleeping in tree fort, nice cabin feel and use of kayaks was great , home has all amenities youd need , lotsa stairs down to water view from home was real nice, we had a chilly night and turned the heat unit on they work very well warmed the home up in minutes. Great place to stay and close to mountains and other interests, we will be back next time we head up north. Wendy was a great host checked in to make sure everthing was great.

Set in the country, this home is ideally situated for enjoying the lakes region and white mountains of NH. This two-story home was built in the early 1900s as a summer home and retains many of the original features. Originally known as "Pine Knoll," it sits atop a pretty hill. Enjoy the gentle breeze from the screened-in porch or hammock. No wifi or TV, but plenty of natural beauty and places to explore. Stop in Meredith or Ctr Harbor for groceries on the way.
Our home has a wrap-around porch that is partially screened, a separate, large screened-in gazebo, and a combination of field and woods to roam. There is a hammock in the trees. Choose your favorite spot to relax! Bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs. Two bedrooms contain Queen-sized beds; the third contains a bunk bed and small day bed. An additional day bed on the screened-in porch provides extra sleeping space and can be made into a king-sized bed using the pop-up trundle. There is a dining area and separate kitchen with stove and refrigerator/freezer. There is also a gas grill outside. We provide firewood for the fireplace--bring the makings for s'mores!
This home is in the country. There are neighbors nearby, however, the setting is quiet. The nearest grocery store is 15 minutes away as are town centers. There are several options for swimming, boating, and hiking. The nearest beach is less than a 10 minute drive, and the larger lakes are 20 minutes away. A few places rent canoes and kayaks. Hiking trails are scattered throughout the area.

  • Ann was great! No complaints.

    Tadd2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • I had a fantastic stay in one of my favorite parts of New England. The price was right and the space itself was simple but certainly not lacking at all, I wouldn't change anything about it. The real treat was the hospitality of the host (Ann's husband Rob at the time) and sweet dog Charlie! Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

    Jennifer2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ann’s place is just what we needed for the night for our early hike on Mt Passaconaway in the White Mountains. The place is about 20 mins away from the trail head. No issues communicating with Ann to make sure we found her house. Ann, her husband, and their dog Charlie were very nice. The place was very clean and I enjoyed having a private bathroom since we had to wake up very early. The room itself is in the hallway so we were more comfortable not waking the whole house up. Overall, great stay!

This 2-bedroom condo in the White Mtns. is a great getaway with mountain views. Compact but complete, it has lots of options for family and friends. A small deck to enjoy sunset views opens onto a great backyard for croquet, horseshoes, soccer or football. We have board games and books. Fifteen minutes from Plymouth and PSU. Gas fireplace, air conditioning. Dozens of hiking trails nearby. Skiing and ice skating in season. Community center 1 mile away with indoor/outdoor pools, gym and more.
The bedrooms are small but comfortable. The living/dining area is the main area, with a lovely sunset view of the mountains. One bedroom has a king bed, the other has a queen bed. Coin-op laundry close by in the building but not within the unit. The Community Center is a short drive (or a 1-mile walk) away. The unit key is in a lockbox to the right of the door so you can arrive any time after 4 p.m.
Beautiful wooded setting, NH State Forest nearby. Lots of wildlife: deer, fox, fisher, bear, birds, fish. DO NOT PUT FOOD OUT FOR ANIMALS. It's dangerous for them & humans. Our place is 15 minutes North of Plymouth & Plymouth State University. We're 20 minutes south of Lincoln & Woodstock/North Woodstock.
  • Perfect place to stay in the Campton area, easy access to the main highways and the mountains. Clean, quiet and perfect place to relax after a long day of exploring!

  • This black bear/moose lodge facing mountain sunsets is charming and cozy. The condo is stocked with coffee, cinnamon buns, toilet paper (thank g-d), shampoo, fluffy towels for the bath, facecloths, kitchen cloths, and towels for the sports center. We also enjoyed the TV with Roku and the card games. The set up is perfect and the hosts are so easy to communicate with and clear. It’s a total charmer.

  • This was a wonderful place to stay on our visit to New Hampshire! So many thoughtful touches and such a perfect location for our trip to the White Mountains and Ice Castles. We felt very comfortable and at home. We loved the charm of the fireplace and the beautiful view from the living room. The community center was also impressive and worth checking out. Scott & Mary Ellen provided wonderful recommendations and were very responsive throughout the trip. I would recommend to anyone who is visiting the area to stay here!

    Cassandra2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Scott and Mary Ellen have a clean and comfortable condo centrally located in the White Mountains near plenty of skiing. During the winter time be sure to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle for the access roads to the condo are very steep and snow covered.

New, stylish and comfortable large bedroom w/private entrance & attached private half bathroom(no shower). Snowy access downhill and through french doors (slippery), must be comfortable walking down-short mild slope from the driveway to door. Large queen bed with allergen protection & 2 twin mattresses available. TV, Wi-fi, refrigerator, K Cup coffee & tea. I prefer to have at most 2-3 guests per night. Quiet at 10pm. Non smoking property inside & out-we have allergies, so it's very important.
Be sure you are okay with just a half bathroom. We are easy to find. only 3 miles from I93, in a quiet neighborhood, peaceful, lots of sun and trees, great for walking, biking, near golf, hiking, kayaking, tubing, and ski areas, etc. Large room is fantastic for yoga and comfort with a large flat screen tv, comfortable beds, private bathroom, and relaxing environment. We have a labradoodle named Luna upstairs, low allergy, quiet dog.
The neighborhood is wonderful for walking and the sky is full of stars. We are super close to many hikes, including several of the 4000 footers. Also great covered bridges, many lakes, swimming holes, and shorter less strenuous hiking trails. Beauty everywhere. We are also very near Plymouth State University, Waterville Valley, many restaurant choices etc...
  • Good place to stay for short visits. Very cozy.

  • Kari was a great host! Went to the ice castles in NH and this was a lovely space to stay for the night. The room was very clean and comfortable.

    Justin2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Kari has a very cute and stylish space, perfect for the one-night ski getaway. Directions to her place were super clear, and she was quick to respond to messages/questions. The space was clean and looked newly re-modeled! The one downside was no shower (it’s in the works though!), but we didn’t mind for the one night we stayed. Thank you again, Kari!

    Kristen2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Kari’s place was lovely. Cute and clean, it was exactly what we needed for a quick stay on our way north. The bed was comfy and the space was clean and large.

  • We had so much fun staying at Stacey’s Airbnb. This studio apartment was so cozy and made us feel right at home. Both our hosts were so welcoming and patient when it came to our travel delays due to snow. Even went as far as welcoming us in person when we first got to the location. Overall all great experience to our short weekend getaway.

    Hannah2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Stacey's for a quick weekend trip to the area. The space is exactly as advertised and was a perfect location for us. Communication and check-in were a breeze. The space features similar amenities to a mid-level hotel room, but has more space and is homier and the price is much better. Would definitely recommend if you are staying in the area.

    Jason2020-01-26T00:00:00Z

  • Adorable and clean little place! Nice and warm too, which was important since we were there in a deep freeze! We met Sam when we first showed up, he was kind and explained everything clearly! We appreciated the private entrance as well. Thanks for having us!

  • This is a wonderfully cute freestanding space adjacent to a local art gallery. The owners are super friendly and helpful and the room is very comfortable. Honestly, the worst part of our entire trip was having to get up in the morning and leave the warm comfort of the bed with its heavy blankets. It was terrible. I wish I was still in that bed.

  • Stayed here recently for our mini-moon and it exceeded our expectations. First, upon arriving to the carriage house we were greeted with a “just married” sign out front and a thoughtful note. Right away we realized how clean the place was as well. Especially for being so tiny and in a location that is nestled away a little. There are plenty of thoughtful touches added as well, such as maps to surrounding trails and information on food in the area; including a guest book with more information from previous guests. We visited at pretty much peak fall foliage which made visiting the white mountains the best fall foliage experience we have ever had in our life. Hiking in the whites is a must do, or just driving 112 if you’re not into that. (20-30 minute drive depending on what part you are driving into). Also, the carriage house is about an hour & 1/2 drive to Portland if you are looking for more of a city scene and food, which we treated to ourselves one night. There are plenty of other touches added to the Carriage House such as a fire pit, grill and great spot to just hang outside. Although, we did not take advantage of them, it is awesome that they exist. Our trip to New Hampshire will be one we will remember for the rest of our lives and a big part of it is due to the charming Carriage House.

    James2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • We highly recommend the Carriage House! It’s located close to both the mountains and lakes, is clean and well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed the two days we spent there while on our Fall foliage trip trip in New Hampshire.

  • This was the perfect spot to stay on our trip to see the fall foliage and first time in NH. There is plenty of room in this spacious tiny house and we were surprised! Do plan for cell service being down during the trip, but WiFi is available and worked fine. Thanks B&M for the thoughtful welcome note! We would love to stay again when back in the area.

  • Zach’s house is pretty decent.. it’s nice in woods and he guided us directions too.. it’s very convenient to drive and see places around... We would love to visit his place again... we definitely recommend this place to everyone

  • We had a terrific time, Zach was extremely helpful!

    Mark2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Zach is a truly considerate host - he informed us of resident dogs in advance, and helped our parents get from car to room personally. He's working hard to make the house up to date and comfortable - and he's good at it. He asked about preferences for breakfast, and generally made us feel welcome and special. We highly recommend this charming and restful home.

  • Really enjoyed our stay here!

    Michelle2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Zach’s house is very good! He is friendly and thoughtful. The location is also convenient to go sightseeing in the White Mountain. And he provides a breakfast before we left, that’s very nice in a cold morning if you can have a hot drink. Strongly recommended!

    未央2018-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Would definitely stay here again! Zachary’s place is fantastic for a family stay!

    Ronald2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Zach’s place. The house is large, and the bedrooms larger and nicer than the photos show. Zach is a super laid back host, who made us feel very welcome. We especially appreciated how warmly welcomed our dog Cocoa was too. There’s a great, enclosed dog run at the back of the house where she was free to roam, and Cocoa was allowed free roam of the house too (which was the BIGGEST adventure for her!). Overall, great value and fun stay.

The house is ideal for 1-2 adults. The private outdoor area has a covered outdoor cooking area & a propane grill. Both this house and a adjacent home can be rented together when available. See our other listing for The 'Carriage House' or (copy & paste link below) https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/25883723?preview_for_ml *The Gatehouse is a small, but spacious guesthouse that offers a sleeping loft with double bed accessible by a ladder only. • B&M are great hosts who will help with any questions you have about the Tiny House and the surrounding area.

    William2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the Gatehouse! B&M were perfect hosts and offered a clean and private weekend get away. The location was perfect and we got to explore the white mountains! We had a fire and cooked on the grill! B&M offered cute touches that made us laugh and feel at home like their tiny game of corn hole. Would recommend the Gatehouse to all of my friends and family. We hope to visit again soon.

1960 Chalet-style cottage with spectacular, panoramic view of seven mountains of the Sandwich Range. Two bedrooms, one bath with shower, kitchen, dining room-living room, porch with picnic table. Free wifi and flat screen TV.
This serene location is on 44 acres of wildlife conservation easement with a view of seven mountains of the Sandwich Range. We recommend the wonderful Corner House Inn in Center Sandwich for dinner.
  • Absolutely gorgeous setting! Sarah is a very communicative and available host. No cell coverage in the immediate area and wifi is slow (but typical for a rural area).

    Jill2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah place has great vibes! House its located in amazing spot near White Mountains , The views are just amazing ...my and my girlfriend have great time chilling on the porch and watching stunning sunsets and wild animals... very very amazing place !!! thank you , Sarah !!!

  • Sarah's house sits in a beautiful location and is a perfect place to both relax and enjoy the outdoor adventures the area offers in abundance. Sarah was a terrific communicator and provides a ton of helpful information about the area, from where to buy fresh eggs, to where to go swimming, to where to get delicious spring water, and on and on. We took advantage of many of her tips and they were all spot on. We loved the house and will definitely come back again. Thank you Sarah!

    Tim2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! It was our first time using this service and it will definitely not be our last. Sarah's place was just as described and was incredibly clean. She was such a great host and was extremely helpful. Their was also little notes all over with helpful information, guides, maps and different amenities in the area. The views of the mountains alone are absolutely amazing and we took incredible pictures. It's everything you would want if you are looking to get away, relax and enjoy the outdoors.

    Darlenny2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed at Sarah's house for a quick get-away weekend. Upon arriving, we were blown away by the views of the mountains - the pictures in the listing did not do it justice. The house is perfectly sized, well fitted with everything you would need for a getaway and very clean. The best feature is definitely the full wall of sliding glass doors facing the mountain range. We enjoyed some light hiking, hanging out at the Pothole swimming area, and spending time on the warp around deck. There were binoculars available at the house so during our time there we were able to see a bear and a handful of turkeys on the property. We definitely recommend checking out the Sandwich Creamery for local ice cream and cheese, and both the Corner House Inn and Buckeyes's Tavern for dinner. Sarah was a great host, incredibly responsive and provided us with a ton of information of the area once our booking was confirmed that was incredibly useful.

    Megan2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience. Waking up to beats every morning and fantastic views of the mountains.

    Robert2018-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s place is amazing with beautiful views of the mountains, and has everything you will need to enjoy your stay at the White Mountain area. We came to the area for the fall foliage and hiking in the White Mountains area. I think staying at her place made the trip with the 3rd highlight we didn’t expect - an experience of living in the midst of all- either enjoying the spectacular views sitting in the family room looking out, or standing on the open deck gazing into the flaming colored fall leaves on the horizon, all at the same time, cozy and warm! We were also lucky to run into the pretty large scale “Sandwich Fair” (10/6-10/8) at the town center, where the kids had fun buying cheese and patting farm animals. Will come back again!

    Kevin2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay here. The location and views are so special. We most enjoy the hiking--this year we made it up Whiteface!--and quiet time on the deck. But the local scene is also fun and interesting: the Tamworth theater, eateries in Center Sandwich and Tamworth, local produce and art, etc. Sarah and her sister are very attentive hosts, respond quickly to questions, and offer good information about local amenities and activities.
