  • Jackie's cottage is a one of a kind find. The space is very cozy and quiet. We arrived at night and didn't have any trouble finding the place. The next morning, Jackie took us on a tour of their farm and we had a great time learning about the day to day. Would 100% recommend staying here.

  • Such a lovely cottage to stay at, on a working dairy farm! It was very clean and cozy, and had perfect kitchen supplies for preparing a meal. It was a perfect place for some rest and relaxation. Thank you again.

This beautiful 18th century converted barn, located opposite the owner’s home, within easy and quick access to Waterford and Kilkenny . Has a country style open-plan layout. It provides the perfect base to explore the sunny south east many famous sights and walking trails. Following a day's trekking in the Greenway which is just 6 miles away you can sit and enjoy the stunning views which the barn provides. At the end of the day you can relax beside the cosy stove and plan your next day's outing!
The barn has high speed internet access. However please be aware that the mobile signal is poor inside the barn due to the thick stone walls.
It's a quite cul de sac with just two houses .
  • The perfect little cosy hideaway.

Highly recommend this beautiful cozy barn. Marie was very helpful & excellent communication from the start. We went for a meal in Sheehans in waterford city. Fab food!

  • The 18th Century Barn is nothing but a little piece of heaven. The peace and quiet, the lovely views, the bath, the fireplace, the ambiance and atmosphere is perfect. Marie is an amazing host, very attentive and went above and beyond to leave a selection of goodies and food for us, which no Air BnB has done before. She will give you your own space to enjoy but if you need anything she responds straight away and is eager to help. We got a great intro to the place with her beautiful son giving us a very informative tour of the barn which was amazing and made us feel right at home from the start. The only negative thing was that we wish we stayed longer ! Loved every minute of it. Thank you Marie.

    Stefana2020-02-27T00:00:00Z

  • This place is just out of this world. Away from all the hustle and bustle of town, a warm cosy barn with everything you could need. Marie went above and beyond providing us with food, TV, wine, chocolates and a great nights sleep. We didn't want to leave.

Thank you Margo it was the R&R we needed x

    Lisa2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • The house has great character. My husband and I and 5 kids enjoyed exploring the yard, the stream, the large house, games provided, wood-burning stoves, and the cat. :) Margo communicated wonderfully with us and was flexible when we ran an hour later than expected. Wonderful accommodations overall and we enjoyed our stay! Of note- no WiFi which was fine with us...the teenagers had to go outside to use data/service, LOL.

    Gina2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome, fantastic, unique home. Loved the location - away from the world, but everything within easy reach. Tons of areas to explore inside and around the house for our 1-and-an-almost teenagers. TJ, the resident (outside only) cat is a valued guardian of the grounds. Margo, the host, is a star - lovely person. We will be back, as often as we can!

    Oisin2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space. So peaceful and tranquil. The photos don’t do it justice. Margo is super helpful. Enjoy a stay at the old mill.

    Shannon2020-03-11T00:00:00Z

  • Amazing place, lovely home with lovely garden. Margo was easy to communicate with the very helpful. Nice walks around the area with a river and lake nearby.

    Paddy2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • OMG... words really can’t describe the great time we had in Margo’s little piece of paradise. If you are looking for a peaceful time in an amazing place look no further. No neighbors near by, DELICIOUS well water, idealistic setting, and fun times by the fire don’t hesitate. This is by far the best Airbnb we have ever had. We’ll be back. Margo is an amazing person and will make you feel like you’re in your own old mill in the Irish countryside!

    Caitlin2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is sheer perfection. Gave us exactly what we hoped for. Sam is a gracious and warm host, and the cottage is everything you could hope for if you are seeking a rustic experience, like we were. Wood stove, cozy loft where the beds are, beautiful views - we will definitely be back.

    Phil2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Samantha went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed. Spent time with us to ensure we were comfortable in the space and offered local tips. The furry friends on property made the stay that much better. Would visit again.

    Gabriella2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • A lovey and cosy escape in the countryside. Everything was provided that we could have needed and we received warm hospitality.

    James2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The most charming experience in Sam's cottage we couldn't believe that it was for real. The place was just magical with the silence and the authenticity surrounding every single detail. Sam is just a great host and you feel that you know her before she doesn't make you feel it's the first time you've met. She has a beautiful quote hanged in the kitchen "Enter as strangers and leave as friends" and that is exactly what happened with us. Many thanks for allowing us to experience such a beautiful stay and hope to we get back very soon.

We are located 25. minutes drive to nearest beach( bonmahon) 20 minutes from comeragh mountains. I/2 mile from curraghmore estate. We are surrounded by woodlands which provide several walking routes, noise levels are minimal, you may hear the sound of the tractor in the mornings as farm work must go on. Sleeps 6 people.
This is a 300 year old stone building, a converted cow holding ( barn)which is situated in the courtyard of the main house. This property is Split level property. This property once had a spiral stairs as some guests found it inconvenient I have replaced it with a very user friendly staircase, thanks to feedback and previous guests contribution by staying here this was possible. Also provided are safety gates for the stairs if you have toddlers a travel cot and high chair. I provide the basics for breakfast milk orange juice, butter , bread and jams. Tea and coffee. Also provided are fresh hen eggs that roam freely in the garden. I have also replaced the kitchen giving it a complete new make over. The old kitchen was passed its beauty and use and as I take all valid constuctive criticism by my guests who have mentioned its poor quality. I made this big improvement and replaced the kitchen and even putting down a new floor. I aim for the best quality and perfection, because of you my past and future guests all these improvements are possible and I thank you.

This property is in close proximity to the green way kilmeaden/ kilmacthomas. 15 minutes into both routes. Also provided is an out house to store your bikes. The local fast food outlet will deliver for a small fee the menu is provided in the kitchen of the cottage. • Beautiful home surrounded by rolling hills and fresh air. Barbara was a wonderful host and thought through everything necessary for a great place to stay.

  • Beautiful old farmhouse in a stunning setting! We loved our stay here and Barbara was so lovely to us...

    Sally2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay and Barbara could not have been more helpful. The accommodation was perfect and lovely extra touches in the form of breakfast provided and a hot stove on arrival and fresh flowers. The photos don’t do justice to the place as much larger in reality. Barbara could not have been more helpful and very understanding of having a dog stay with us. We look forward to a return visit.

    Lynda2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was beautiful. I wish I had more time to spend in it. It was very spacious and the landscape was stunning. Barbara and her dogs were home to greet us when we arrived. We would absolutely stay again if we ever found ourselves in the area again.

    Alexandra2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara’s places was absolutely perfect for our traveling family! She has thought of all the “extras” to make it feel like home. Upon arrival, she provided farm fresh eggs, milk, juice, bread etc. Great was to start before making our way to the grocery. The kids enjoyed all the puzzles, games and books- I don’t think they turned on their electronics for the entire stay!

    Terra2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Set in a tranquil, peaceful setting Barbara’s place is warm and welcoming. Lot of rustic charm with peacocks, chickens and horses in the yard and surrounding fields. The lodgings are clean, comfy, well equipped with lots of thoughtful touches. I would have no hesitation in recommending Barbara’s place to others.

    Karen2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place! Highly recommend.

  • This is a beautiful farm and Barbara makes you feel right at home. We were there right after Christmas and it was decorated beautifully. She also gave us fresh fruit, eggs, juice and bread. So wonderful. It was a bit hard to find. I would suggest goggle maps or you may never find it. With that said you are surrounded by rolling hills. Beautiful Irish country side.

  • Ade and Frank's cottege is a real trinket on a hill overlooking a beautiful green valley. The interior is very functional and pleasant. The kitchen is well equipped with induction hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge. Ade's reception was very accurate and friendly, available and attentive to our needs. We found so many good things at home for our breakfast and we were able to prepare our dinners by shopping in the supermarkets of the town that close late at 9 o'clock. The children while we relaxed drinking a beer and looking at the splendid panorama, they had fun to play with the nice Poppy lover of their cuddles. Nice living room.

It was so nice to be away from the city and this little part of the world was just the spot to do so. Highly recommended. Thanks again Ade!

This recently renovated property sits directly across from the Suir Blueway on the bank of the River Suir, and is only a short drive from the Waterford Greenway.
  • We had a really wonderful week at Paul’s place. Paul was a wonderful host communication before our stay was excellent and Paul and his wife couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful when they met us for check in. They offered to come mid week and change bedding if required and to drive us to a lovely location close by so we could walk back by the river on the Suir blueway. They had lots of things in the house when we arrived to get us started milk, butter, juice, eggs, cereal, biscuits etc this was a really lovely touch. The house was very comfy and really cosy with everything in it that we could need. It’s location is perfect only a very short walk to the town and all the shops and with access to the Suir Blu-ray river walk only right across the road. It is also only a half hour from the beautiful Waterford beaches of Tramore and Bunmahon which we really enjoyed visits to. It is also very close to the Waterford Greenway. We would thoroughly recommend a stay in this beautiful home and will look forward to a visit back there ourselves.

    Fanfan2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great two days here at Gary’s place. Ella’s greeting and introduction to the place helped us settle in for our two nights. The apartment was snug and so close to everything, especially Ormond castle just a short walk away. It’s a little Tudor gem of a house in front of a ruined castle - great value tour. Beware the steps like most in Ireland we’ve found are a bit steep if you have issues. Highly recommended.

We used the dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer and everything worked as expected. It was so peaceful and picturesque but still nicely situated between Waterford and Kilkenny. It was very nice to have a “ home away from home”.

Very comfortable and cosy house in the countryside but only 6 miles from Waterford city and the fantastic Waterford Greenway and 25 miles from Kilkenny city. Also minutes from the Dublin/Waterford motorway. The host has her own bedroom at the entrance to the house but guests have use of the entire rest of house, an open plan kitchen/living/dining room and the second floor which has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. As it's a rural area a car is a necessity.
This is a quiet rural area but only minutes from the Waterford-dublin motorway. It's 15 minutes to Waterford city and 30 minutes to Kilkenny city.
  • Such a lovely home! Feels just like what you’d expect it to be. Warm and cozy and the hosts are so kind! Next time we’re in this area, we’ll definitely stay here again! Thank you for everything! We really appreciate it! :)

  • Small isolated cottage in the countryside 20min from Waterford and 30 from Kilkenny. The house is very well equipped, especially for children, which is really convenient. Louise responds quickly to our questions and if necessary, Margot, the housekeeper, is on site.

  • We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Louise's cottage. Perfect location as its so close to Kilkenny/Waterford and lots to do in the locality. The cottage was spotlessly clean and found it so peaceful and relaxing there. Kids thoroughly enjoyed there was plenty to keep them entertained at the cottage. Very well set up with everything you could possibly need for your trip on site. Best airbnb experience we have had.

    Kellie2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great studio loft, private and large enough for our family of five. Cora even provided a travel cot for our one year old. We were only there for one night and left early in the morning, but it was a comfortable place to stay. Definitely off the beaten track a bit though, so factor that in with your travel plans.

    Erika2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Cora was an extremely kind host. She saved us after one previous reservation was cancelled and we were very happy to stay at her place. The area is beautiful and so is the view from the windows. The apartment was sparkling clean, very comfortable and Cora left very nice welcoming touches. She gave us very interesting recommendations on things to do in the area. It worked very well for us, since it was close to Kilkenny. 100% recommended!

  • Beautiful setting with amazing countryside everywhere you look. The house was nice and Cora had left things for breakfast and some other things that was a lovely touch. Her family are lovely too and she gave us lots of tips for things to do around her part. You should stay here, even if were just for the views from the window in the morning. Loved it.

  • Magnificient stay at Cora’s. Her whole family made us feel welcomed! Beautiful loft in an amazing location right in the middle of the irish countryside. Great place to stay with kids. We wished we had more time to spend there. Cora and her husband John have been incredibly helpful with a lost baseball cap dear to our heart and to show us the nice things to see around. Strongly recommended! Thanks again to a wonderful family :)

  • The house is completely adapted to the description made in the advertisement. Its location allows to discover Carrick-on-Suir and is very well located to know Wexford, Waterford, Cork. The communication and the deal with Denis was very easy and cordial, as well as with his mother who received us on our arrival. It is a recommendable house and we would not mind returning to stay in it

  • Our stay at Carrick-on-Suir was the highlight of our trip to Ireland. A big part of that was our hostess. She drove us to town when we were unable to get a taxi; she took the washing off the clothes line when she saw it was going to rain and we weren't home; she went above and beyond expectations and we really appreciated it!

  • For us the cottage was perfect. It had a great location, near Carrick on Suir, but at the same time in a very safe rural location. The cottage is very large. It has three large bedrooms all with comfy beds. Two of the rooms had king size beds. There was lots of storage space too. The bathroom has a bath and a shower which was an added bonus. Downstairs the lounge had comfy furniture and Sky TV with Sky Sports was another added bonus. The kitchen worked well. There was plenty of utensils so cooking a meal was easy work. Included too was a washing machine so to be very honest there wasn't anything not to like. The hosts live on the grounds and were extremely friendly and welcoming. Would I return...YES. Do I recommended.... YES

Our Cottage is only 8 minutes drive from Waterford Quay. Our neighbourhood is located in Waterford, Ireland's oldest city founded by the Viking Traders in 914. Waterford (Port Láirge) is Ireland's oldest city – it celebrated its 1100th anniversary in 2014 – with a history that dates back to Viking times. Taking its name from the Old Norse vedrarfjord ('winter haven' or 'windy harbour' are just two of several possible translations), it remains a busy port city on a tidal reach of the River Suir, and is famous as the home of Waterford crystal. Things to do and see: History House of Waterford Crystal This large modern complex combines a retail shop and cafe with a factory offering a tour that shows how world-famous Waterford crystal is produced. The highlight is the blowing room where you can watch skilled artisans transform blobs of red-hot molten glass into delicate crystalware. The tour ends, inevitably, in the shop, where you can wonder at the twinkling displays that range from a €30 bottle coaster to a €30,000 crystal version of Cinderella's carriage. The first Waterford glass factory was established at the western end of the riverside quays in 1783. Centuries later, after the boom of the 1980s and 1990s, the company fell on hard times and in 2009 was purchased by an American investment firm. Today around 60,000 pieces are made annually in Ireland, around 55% of the total output; the remainder is manufactured in Europe to strict Waterford standards. Reginald's Tower The oldest complete building in Ireland and the first to use mortar, 13th-century Reginald's Tower, the city's key fortification, is an outstanding example of medieval architecture. Its 3m- to 4m-thick walls were built on the site of a Viking wooden tower. Over the years the building served as an arsenal, a prison and a mint; it now houses a museum recording the city's Viking and early medieval history. The sparse exhibits include the tiny but exquisite Waterford Kite Brooch, made around 1100. Bishop's Palace The Bishop's Palace, a Georgian mansion dating from 1741, covers Waterford's history from 1700 to 1970 and displays a wide-ranging selection of treasures from the city's coffers, from period furniture, oil paintings and Georgian silverware to old photos recording the 1960s heyday of Irish showbands. Most interesting is the original dining room set with period tableware including the world's oldest surviving piece of Waterford crystal, a decanter dating from 1789. Waterford Medieval Treasures, Waterford City. Waterford Treasures – Three Museums in the Viking Triangle situated in the heart of Ireland’s oldest city. Three museums within a few paces of each other tell the 1100 year old story of Waterford from its foundation in 914 by Viking sea pirates. The massive stone fortress Reginald’s Tower houses Waterford's Viking Treasures. Ireland’s only Medieval Museum showcases spectacular Treasures from the Middle Ages. The elegant 1743 Bishop’s Palace is the home of the Treasures of the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. Designed by local architect John Roberts, it was built on the site of an 11th-century Viking church, where the historic 12th-century marriage of Strongbow and Aiofe took place. The rather grim highlight is the 15th-century tomb of James Rice, seven times Lord Mayor of Waterford: sculpted worms and frogs crawl over the effigy of his decaying corpse. Holy Trinity Cathedral The sumptuous interior of the city's Roman Catholic cathedral boasts a carved-oak baroque pulpit, painted pillars with Corinthian capitals and 10 Waterford crystal chandeliers. It was built between 1792 and 1796 by John Roberts, who also designed Christ Church Cathedral, making Waterford the only city where both the Catholic and Protestant cathedrals were designed by the same architect. Local bars and restaurants Jack Meades Bar and Restaurant - Ireland's only flyover pub is an extensive complex with various facets. The old world bar dates back to circa 1705, the lime kilns and ice house were built circa 1860, the grounds have been tastefully developed and are home to ducks, ponies, donkeys and goats. The large new bar was built in 2005 and boasts an extensive beer garden with childrens play area, walks with animals and ducks. • This place was amazing! Perfect location to Waterford. The house was very clean and cozy. They had the fire started for us upon arrival so it was very warm. The hosts were amazing. So kind and helpful to give us tips.

  • Wonderful house! Ian and Sam provided everything we needed for a wonderful, albeit brief stay. It is a few minutes outside the city of Waterford so a car is necessary to get there, but it was a convenient location with quick access in and out of the city. Wonderful touches, including a nice fire lit upon arrival. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again next time we’re in Waterford!

  • This was the best place we have stayed in Ireland. Sam and Ian are great hosts and have a lovely property . I cannot fault their impeccable service.

    Geoff2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • My mum and I could not recommend Sam and Ian’s property anymore if we tried! A wonderful property, away from the business of Waterford centre but a quick five minute drive in so ideally located. The bungalow was super comfortable, the beds included! (Didn’t want to get out of them) and the extra touches offered with the scones and other food bits was really lovely. Sam and Ian were both really warm and helpful, the insurrections they gave we’re straightforward and we had no issues finding the property.

  • We're not sure how Ian and Sam could have made us feel any more welcome than they did. They met us warmly at our arrival, showed us around the house, had homemade scones and other food in the fridge, and made sure we knew what sights were available to see in the area. And there were white terry cloth robes for all of us - a special little delight. We also appreciated the location of their home. After spending time near London it was lovely to be away from the bustle of an urban area while still being a short drive away from Waterford and its sights. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
