Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Big House. Lourdes and her family were very welcoming and helpful. Great place to stay close to the Coast Guard Academy.

The Haynes family were perfect hosts! The (massive) house is walking distance from the Amtrak train station (although Jamie was kind enough to drive over to pick us up) and near a plethora of restaurants. Everything was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. Would easily go back again. If you're looking for the BnB experience like you'd see in a movie, this is the place.

Friendly atmosphere. Easy location to get to the highway and go to Mohegan Sun in 20 mins. Simple furnishings, clean. Some mix up with the keys/entry but it was cleared up in the end. Fantastic breakfast!

We arrived fairly late after a long day and it was so nice to walk into such a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Bessie, James & family are wonderful hosts - extremely accommodating and friendly. They provide hot breakfasts during the weekends and even offered to give us a ride to the Block Island ferry dock. The place itself is charming, quaint and conveniently located - a 10-15 minute walk to downtown, and 10-15 minute walk to the Block Island Ferry. Absolutely recommend the big house!

So many details meticulously attended to in this splendid, stately house. Lourdes and Jamie made the whole hospitality thing look easy as they offered water taxi and beach passes, access to their pool and local craft brew kegs, freshly baked bread and mouthwatering hot waffles, bacon, and eggs along with the cereal and yogurt breakfast fare (weekend stays only I believe). They're happy to chat but respectful of your preferences if you choose to keep more to yourself; the house was beautifully furnished and comfortably cool with fans and open windows; the value was unbeatable and the views from the widow's watch are breathtaking. Lourdes said the house was full while I stayed but I hardly heard or saw any of the other guests. Also the house is incredibly modern for its age--my room and bathroom had several grounded outlets, which surprised me (I've had trouble finding them in houses half the age of this one)--and wifi was easily available. I feel lucky to have stayed here with Jamie and Lourdes!

The Big House is the only place to stay in NL. Lourdes and the family were great hosts and made my stay in town pleasant and relaxed. The house is beautiful, and the accommodations perfect for someone who is coming in for research or work purposes. I left early each morning, and a hearty breakfast was waiting for me on the way out. In the evening, there are several great restaurants within walking distance, and many places to relax by yourself or with company in the home. Highly highly recommended.

Krista was a great host. Very flexible when it came to checking in and communicated well. The house was perfect. Centrally located right off the main downtown street, it was very easy to walk from the train station to the house and the restaurants in between. My boyfriend lives in New York and I'm in Boston and this was the perfect midway place to meet for a quick getaway. We loved our time at the house and in New London!

We stayed at Krista's for only one night - but wish it could have been longer!! She was excellent at communication and made sure we had everything we needed prior to and during our stay. Our room was clean, comfortable, and we loved the nautical themes throughout the house! We hope to come back soon and stay for longer!

Katie is a wonderful host and welcomed us with a warm smile and loads of enthusiasm. She communicated often and responded quickly whenever I had a question. My family and I had a wonderful stay in this beautiful Victorian house! Built in 1873, this house is beautifully decorated with maritime colors in tune with the history of New London, but with a soothing mixture of oranges and yellows. The staircase in the entryway is breathtaking. The wooden floors throughout the house have been lovingly refinish. The modern furniture adds a great contrast to the architecture, and the big, bold, black and white artwork throughout the house is beautiful. Most of the prints are from places around town that you can find if you have a good eye! The bedrooms are comfortable and just spacious enough. There are plenty of bathrooms and the showers are roomy, clean and with great water flow. Shampoo, shower gel and an amazing lotion that I wish I would have taken a picture of to buy it were provided as well. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need to make a home cooked meal. There was coffee for us and plenty of space in the ample dining and living room areas. We spent both mornings drinking coffee at the bay window people watching and the downtown flow. We loved the central location of the house were able to walk to all of the downtown places we wanted to see. This was a great experience and I'm sure I will be booking there again!

Melissa was great...we had great communication leading up to my departure as well as the day I arrived. The listing was represented accurately, the pics looked like the place when we arrived. Melissa was kind enough to have water and muffins when we arrived. (Nice touch) I just didn't like the neighbor hood. I did find some nice restarants for breakfast and dinner.

the ocean ave beach house was way more than i even expected. the place was immaculate and everything is brand new. beds were super comfortable and plenty of extra towels. the electronic key entry made it easy as my friends and i came in and out for the night. didn't get to hit the beach, but it's literally 2 first downs away from the driveway. wow. i talk to costa on the phone, but didn't get to meet in person. he helped with some questions i had and gave me some tips on where to go out in town. overall he was a great host, the house and location is amazing. i'll def keep this place in my favs to stay when i'm back in town!

Lovely and classy!

My wife and I had a very nice stay at Susan's. We have a son who attends Connecticut College, so it is an easy drive to campus. The neighborhood was quiet and we both felt very safe. Susan is a delight and very helpful in making the stay enjoyable and comfortable. She explains all the amenities and where to find things you might need. She keeps the rooms and the house very clean and welcoming.

Susan's space was very nice. It was very clean, comfortable, and just overall very nice. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was very clean. She cooked my partner and I a very delicious breakfast, and she was very friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely be staying in her space again if we visit New London in the future.

We had a fun stay with Susan. She is very welcoming and friendly, as is Mr Bentley! Because there were no other guests she upgraded us to her bigger room which has the most comfortable bed I have come across in air bnb! She made a delicious breakfast. Susan is such an interesting and warm person and we enjoyed spending time with her.

Great place to crash for the night near Ocean Beach Park where my boyfriend was playing with his band. Daphne Lee is sweet and greeted us so nicely. Her home is very cool and spacious with a great creative vibe. Room was fine and the use of the private bathroom right outside the door was very convenient. It was pretty quiet there..... except for the train whistles from the nearby Amtrak station! That did affect my rest for the night somewhat, but I am a light sleeper.

Historic house in downtown New London. I picked it for proximity to ferries and off-street parking. It's an easy one mile or less walk. The kitchen is huge, well-equipped and spotless. The living room is comfortably furnished and has a large TV with cable. The bedroom is sizable and has a queen bed, easy chair, bedside table, desk and chair, closet space, bedside lamp, ceiling fan, and a window AC unit. Wifi signal is strong. I never met my hostess, Daphne, as she had to work late, but she was excellent with prompt, clear text communiqués. I would definitely return and recommend it for its location, amenities, price, and professionalism of the hostess.

Pleasant stay in a eclectic house. Only met my hosts for a minute, but they seemed like very lovely folks.

Room had snacks, bathroom had supplies, room was beautifully decorated, quiet, wonderful neighborhood, coffee early in the morning. Felt like I was staying with old friend. I'd arrived on the USCG Eagle Cutter tall sailing ship after a week at sea and Frank and Lynda's home was a quiet place to rest and explore. Could not imagine anything better. I'll be back!

Frank was a great host and provided us lots of detail about the area. The room was exactly as described and very clean. It was perfect for our weekend stay. The welcome basket filled with snacks and treats was much appreciated and nice to have for our stay. Although our stay was short and we didn't get to enjoy it, the backyard patio was beautiful with tons of flowers and very private. Frank offered us coffee each morning and was there to greet us when we arrived and upon leaving. I highly recommend it.

Frank and Lynda were wonderful hosts. They were very welcoming and had great recommendations for food and drink nearby. This was a perfect base for exploring New London—we barely had to use the car at all. The room and private bath were beautifully decorated and had all the amenities we might want or need.

You will fall in love with this listing even before stepping a foot inside. Located in a Historic Street only a 5 minute walk from Union Station, you will find this picturesque colonial home stocked with all the comforts of home. Frank hands you keys to your own entrance and has several flyers on hand with recommendations of where to explore. Please do explore the area too because there are wonderful little shops and cafés hidden throughout downtown. Favorite local finds where the Bean & Leaf coffeeshop and The Telegraph record store, both which rival quality and service of large urban centers. Thanks to these friendly hosts our stay was quite comfortable and enjoyable!

This place is like an art gallery. Half of the fun of our trip to New London was simply looking at all of Abram's art, decor, and books. This place has so much character! The Victorian home that his apartment in is stunning and is just oozing with history. It's also a convenient 10-min walk to the center where all of the shops and restaurants are located.

Arriving at Abram's apartment, we were totally blown away! The apartment is in an old whaling mansion, so the architecture and atmosphere are so wonderfully authentic to the area. Additionally, Abram left a lovely note for us with all the information we would need, clean towels, and a very comfortable and beautiful home. We were spending most of our time in Mystic at the Seaport and the aquarium, and this was a very short drive to everything we wanted to see. We also ended up exploring a bit of New London, and highly recommend both Captain Scott's Lobster Dock and Gaspar's for delicious food. You should be aware that the apartment is on the 3rd floor, so if you have any mobility issues this might not be the easiest for you. Other than that, I can't recommend staying here highly enough.

Awesome location and place! The apartment is in a nice quiet area that's conveniently located near downtown New London. It was also great that the apartment came with wifi, towels, and bedding. Abram's hospitality is amazing. I definitely plan on booking again next time I visit!

Abram was a wonderful host and so quick to respond at all times. His apartment was so artfully designed and decorated for the space. The entrance lockpad can be tricky but overall, what an awesome apt to stay at within a building erected in 1895. Not really walking friendly to downtown but with a car, super close to waterfront and supermarkets (parking was easy everywhere). Would recommend anyone to stay here looking to explore New London and neighboring towns!

My Daughter and I loved staying in Abrams place. The decor was very charming and the building is beautiful. Location is very convenient to many shops and area attractions.

Abram sent a helpful pre-trip email with all the necessary details. He was kind enough to lend us his cat. The listing was as described.

While the location was conveniently close to the downtown area, there were additions to the apartment that we were not aware of that took away from the overall space in the apartment (I.e desk, chair, twin bed). Also, there was no hot water when we tried to shower. We let the water run for a while to warm up and it didn't. I do think outside of that, this place is a good place to stay over night.

This place was exactly as it was described! It's close to downtown new london and not too far from casinos also! Keith met us at the apartment when we arrived after 10pm! Small but reasonably priced and has everything you need for an over night stay! Thanks Keith!

Basic amenities, clean linens, great stay for a low price. Small kitchen more than adequate for 1 or a few people. Room for a couple friends if needed. Very bright due to street lighting nearby.

Easy place to stay short term. In walking distance from the train/Greyhound station. Check-in and check-out were super simple. The kitchen was a little bare so if you're looking to cook for a party, it might not be so easy. The bedroom has two beds, one twin and one queen, the queen-sized mattress was VERY comfortable and I liked that Keith had a few board games in the apartment as well. Lastly, he did warn me that the shower might only get 5 min of hot water but I tried to keep my shower time to a minimum and did not have any problems with it.

It was in a little bit of sketchy neighborhood. But besides that, it was as expected. It was accurately described in the description.

I was moving to New London and needed a place to stay while arranging a lease. Dan is a fabulous host. He is generous, helpful and welcoming. He helped me unload my car, allowed me to store some things in the house and introduced me to some favorite local places and people. I came in on New Year's Eve and he even invited me out that night for a community yoga meditation and dinner. He also welcomed my dog, who had a great time. Definitely would stay here again.

We arrived very late in the evening to a very nice clean house. Dan left the AC on for us, so our room was very comfortable on a super humid night. My son is at the chatterbox stage, and Dan listened patiently to my son's long-winded explanations. We arrived late and left early both days, so we really limited ourselves to our bedroom and a really cool old claw-foot tub bathroom.

Nina is a terrific host! She was accommodating, extremely responsive to all our questions, and thorough with all her instructions for the house. At the same time, she let us experience her home and New London independently; my husband and I never felt uncomfortable being there. She is warm, sweet, and thoughtful. Nina is great and the house was perfect. We are a family of 6 adults from NYC and stayed here for a long weekend. The location of the house was perfect for eating out in town, going to the beach, and taking a day trip to Block Island. We also very much appreciated that the kitchen was fully stocked with plates, pans, utensils and everything we needed to have a couple of meals at the house. Nina is very gracious and we highly recommend her to anyone else.

We were a group of 7 people and the house was perfect!!! The beach is really close to the house, and Nina has beach passes to access for free (otherwise you have to pay 30 dollars per car). The house was clean and beautiful , and Nina was very accommodating and answered always fast to our questions. I recommend you this house for big groups like us.

We stayed at this house for a reunion over a 4 day weekend. The house was wonderful, and even better than what we thought we were getting for the price. Nina was a great host! I've never been to an airbnb where the house was stocked with towels and toiletries. This is a huge huge plus in my eyes, and a testament to Nina's kindness. I would absolutely recommend this house to anyone. The neighbors were great, the back yard is sizable, and the house is in very good condition.

Diane was there to make sure we got situated and had what we needed. I thought the location was great, around the corner from the beach. My group enjoyed the beach. The water was cold and clear.

Diane made us feel welcome by meeting us at the cottage and showing us around, while giving us suggestions of what to do in the area. Her cottage is walking distance to the beach, and she has four individual passes. My only suggestion would be that the inside pictures of the house be updated. The kitchen appears to have more appliances than are there, the bed in the master bedroom is not the one in the picture, and the living room shows a nice comfortable chair that is not there (another place to sit in the living room is needed). It is a nice getaway for the weekend.

Great location, very helpful host. We really enjoyed our stay. Be aware that there is no air conditioning, but plenty of fans and good breezes off the nearby water.

Diane was a great host. The best. After hearing we were driving from chicago she bought us a 6 pack of beer, why? Because she's a saint that understands after driving 1000 miles we may need beer. She gave us a quick tour when we got there and a recommendation for late night dinner spots and lobster shacks for the stay. The beach was super close as was the downtown area and the recommended lobster spot. Overall wonderful experience.
