Take out your hot chocolate and be amazed at the shooting stars on a clear night! Portholland also has a lovely tidal beach which is safe for swimming and canoeing. Breathtaking 2 Bedroom Luxury Cornish Cottage with Panoramic Sea & Harbour Views with Hot Tub - Featured on Channel 4's George Clarke's Amazing Spaces Situated on a beautiful bay in South Cornwall where seals & dolphins are regularly spotted & local fisherman bring in their daily catch. Less than 5 minutes walk to the local restaurants, bars, pubs, ice-cream shops & ancient Grade 2 listed Port showcasing exquisite tall ships and famous for the film set of Poldark & Alice In Wonderland
The beautiful village port of Charlestown has played host to many famous figures in its time, from Poldark to Alice in Wonderland...and most recently George Clarke, who featured Harbour Lights, formerly known as the ‘Loo with a View', on his hugely popular ‘Amazing Spaces' TV programme. It's not hard to see why George was so captivated by the intricate work lovingly carried out on this imaginative and elegantly restored property.  Built in 1771 as a fish and net cellar, the building was later renovated into public conveniences before we rescued it from its ramshackle state in 2015.  The building has now been fully renovated into a truly luxurious pet-friendly two-bedroomed holiday hideaway, full of natural character and marine-inspired style, featuring truly unsurpassed sea views from the cliff top.  Great care and attention has been taken with the design and furnishing of every room to ensure perfect harmony with the beautiful coastal surroundings.  Ancient reclaimed timber décor and solid oak doors add chic touches of time-honoured style, alongside the more contemporary pure white Italian marble worktops and soft grey backgrounds that perfectly complement the magnificent bay and harbour views from the windows. The ground floor encompasses a spacious open-plan living area, described by George Clarke as fabulously "light and airy", featuring a fully furnished designer kitchen that looks out across the harbour.  Fire up the stylish log burner and watch the ships as they glide languidly by! Take the stairs and discover two exquisite bedrooms, one large double featuring glorious views over the harbour and Charlestown Bay - with a luxurious Heritage bath right at the bottom of the bed.  The second, slightly smaller, bedroom features a beautiful view of the garden area. You'll also find a stunning Italian marble and stainless steel furnished en-suite, and a utility area and walk-in wardrobe featuring fitted storage, washer-dryer, iron and ironing board, and hair dryer. Underfloor heating and a Sonos sound system with three independent zones runs throughout, so that wherever you happen to be, you'll be effortlessly able to set the perfect mood! Simply download the Sonos App on your smart phone and away you go! The views become even better outside, when experienced with a glass of bubbles from the lavish four-seater hot tub looking out across the sea!  There's a slate patio with wash off area that's particularly handy after a sandy day on the beach, and a beautiful garden with decked terraces and colourfully lush flowers and plants that have been carefully selected to make the most of their surroundings. Discover Harbour Lights' namesake at the end of the garden...a quaint little lookout shed which in times past was home to the searchlight that guided the Tall Ships safely into harbour.  Here you'll find two benches carved from the old roof timbers, creating the perfect romantic hideaway. Oh - and just in case you're wondering whether any remnants of the building's former history remain, hanging proudly above the downstairs bathroom are the original ‘ladies' and ‘gentlemen' signs… We just couldn't bring themselves to flush those away! You'll find it extremely difficult to tear yourself away from this sea sanctuary, but if you decide to venture out and about, why not take your dog to Charlestown beach for a run, perhaps with some seal and dolphin-spotting along the way?  Watch the fishermen bring in their daily catch before taking yourselves off to indulge in a gourmet seafood meal at the award-winning Falmouth Bay Seafood Café in Truro, another of our stylish dog-friendly retreats. The ancient Grade 2 listed port is steeped in historical architecture...along with a glittering touch of celebrity from its regular use as a film set. So set sail to Harbour Lights and enjoy an invigorating and relaxing break with genuinely breathtaking sea views you won't forget in a hurry!
The beautiful village port of Charlestown has played host to many famous figures in its time, from Poldark to Alice in Wonderland. Go off in any direction along the coast and you’ll find a range of wonderful cafes and restaurants.
  • Harbour Lights will knock your socks off if you are after a relaxing break with great views and facilities

  • This is a special place, in particular for a 'couples getaway'. We went as a family (two teenage girls) and though a squeeze in the spare room for the girls we all found it a great place to spend a week exploring the local walks, beaches and food. Notwithstanding our stay included a visit from 'Storm Dennis' it was a fantastic week and we enjoyed watching the weather coming into the bay.

  • Really lovely place in a great location with lovely restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Charlotte was a great host who was available to help with anything required. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Thanks! X

  • What a nice place harbour lights is. Location is perfect with amazing views & the accommodation is brilliant.

  • This really is a ‘gem’ — absolutely stunning property with luxury finish, in a truly superb location! Walking distance to local beaches, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and everything you will need. We never used our car at all during our stay, and wakening up to the sea views every morning...just ‘wow’!!

  • Well where do I start!! The property it’s self is nothing short of amazing. Charlotte kindly accommodated an early check in which was much appreciated. My dogs thoroughly enjoyed their stay with lovely complimentary doggie bags. The views from the hot tub are to die for and there was nothing better than relaxing in the bath looking out at the ocean at the end of the day. The scones and the bubbly definitely made it that little bit more special if that’s even possible! Charlestown is beautiful and the recommendations from the welcome pack where much appreciated. Longstore was a special place for a very nice steak. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we hope to be able to stay again soon.

    Toni2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Charlotte and Joey’s place is a gem! A wonderful location with spectacular views and easy access to quaint Charlestown. Charlotte went above and beyond by getting us a travel crib for our 20 month old. I will miss the relaxing nights of hearing the ocean from the master bedroom and relaxing in the hot tub. Charlotte even had scones, Cornish cream, milk and bubbly awaiting ya upon our arrival! A class act. Not to mention the place was spotless and had everything you needed and more. The closest Tesco is about a mile away so make sure you get essentials before getting there. Charlotte had general hand soap and shower gel but if you need laundry detergent and shampoo you’ll want to bring it for your stay.

Touchstone Cottage is a lovingly restored 200 year old fisherman's cottage just a stone's throw from Mevagissey's working harbour on the much sought after sunny East Cliff. As a 19th century cottage, tucked away up a secluded cobbled path, you are unable to reach the Cottage by car; this ensures that you will enjoy a peaceful stay. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are within walking distance, while The Eden Project is just a short 20 minute drive. The nearest beach is 10 minutes away on foot.
The upper floor of the Cottage is light and airy; a partition wall has been removed to create a 'mezzanine' bedroom, next to the bathroom. The bedroom has a lovely view across the cobbled back streets of the Village. Light floods down the stairs to the Living Room which features original floorboards which have been lovingly restored, and a log burning stove. There are exposed beams throughout and heaps of character. The cottage is painted white throughout, and features lovely Loaf furniture in the bedroom and living room. Downstairs, on the ground floor, the kitchen/diner features the prettiest slate tiles complete with underfloor heating. Should you choose to cook at home you will find that the kitchen is fully equipped with electric hob and oven, and a lovely pale blue 1950s style SMEG fridge with freezer box. The look is complemented by the mid-century Ercol table and chairs. Finally, a word of caution, the internal stairs are original and are therefore tight and steep, and the cobbled path leading to the cottage can be slippery when wet! I very much look forward to welcoming you. Please do not hesitate to get in touch should you have any questions.
Mevagissey is a beautiful base from which to explore the surrounding area and you will experience a real slice of traditional Cornish life during your stay. In the village itself you will find many lovely shops to browse around alongside 'olde worlde' pubs, cafes and restaurants, where you can eat and drink locally sourced produce. The fishermen haul in their catch at the end of the day and both deep-sea angling trips and short mackerel fishing trips in the bay are available from the quay. The seagulls follow the boats in and are very noisy; just thought I would mention this as the cottage is very close to the harbour! During the summer months there are ferries that will take you from the harbour to Fowey or around the coastline. Mevagissey also has its own small sealife aquarium and museum. Mevagissey is surrounded by beautiful beaches which you can access from The Coast Path; the cottage is just seconds from the Coast Path. You can walk up 'The Cliff' to the top and follow the footpath to beautiful Polstreath beach (steps down) or you can walk over the top of Polkirt Hill and down to Portmellon beach, a sandy cove with plenty of rock pools. From here you can follow the Coast Path to Colona Beach at Chapel Point beach, and, if you are a keen walker, you can keep on walking to Gorran Haven Beach, and you might catch sight of seals, dolphins or even basking sharks on the way. Mevagissey does have its own small beach in the harbour if you do not want to walk. There are many other unspoilt beaches within 10 minutes' drive including Gorran Haven, Vault Beach, Hemmick and Porthluney 'Caerhays', to name but a few. Lovely unspoilt villages such as Port Holland and Portloe, the majestic Nare Head and Pendower Beach, and the Roseland Peninsula and its beautiful beaches, including Towan beach, are all within a 30 minute drive. You can also take the scenic King Harry Ferry across the Fal River and continue on to Falmouth. The North Coast is a short 40 minute drive away and there are surfing beaches at Newquay, Perranporth etc. Mevagissey also hosts its own Feast Week during the last week of June when the harbour is decorated with bright lights and flags, there is a full week of activities and on the final evening there is a spectacular firework display around the harbour. Local Beach Summary Mevagissey beach in the harbour (5 minutes walk) Polstreath beach (steps down) - walk up 'The Cliff' on the east side of the harbour to the top and follow the Coast Path (10 minutes walk) Pentewan beach - follow the Coast Path east of Polstreath beach Portmellon beach - walk over the top of Polkirt Hill (20 minutes walk) Colona Beach, Chapel Point - follow the Coast Path west of Portmellon (30 minutes walk)
  • Really charming cottage, nicely done up, perfect for a cosy winter weekend. 30 second walk from the harbour with lovely views and lots of nice places to eat and explore.

  • A lovely old fisherman’s cottage, up a lovely old street in a lovely old town. The space was everything we hoped for, with a very comfortable kitchen and a lovely view over the town from the bedroom. It’s a stones throw from the harbour and its amenities, and well positioned for walks along the coast, a trip to the Eden project or a longer journey to explore other parts of Cornwall.

    Leonie2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • A great location, with everything you need for a break at the seaside. We enjoyed walking to the Lost Gardens of Heligan, and the coastal walk to Gorran Haven. A friendly village too!

The Ancient Cob Barn is exclusive and secluded but not isolated. A quiet retreat but with hi-tec amenities. On a bridle path providing excellent walks or bike rides in each direction to nearby beaches and the coastal path. 5 miles from Eden Project or Lost Gardens of Heligan. Bicycles included
Constructed of earth and granite, part of a small complex of old farm buildings, with just this one as accommodation, in a tiny hamlet along an unspoilt farm track alongside an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. On a bridle path joining the National Cycle Route close to beaches and the Coastal Footpath. Mountain bikes with helmets available for your use. Digital projector with HDTV, Netflix and Sky Sports for your entertainment. Organic veg from our kitchen garden. Huge farmhouse kitchen opening onto cobbled courtyard. Living room/home cinema with balcony and steps leading down to a garden. Local Delabole slate ground floors with cosy underfloor heating and walk-in wet room from bedroom. The barn has been painstakingly restored using traditional building materials and has a large, craftsman built kitchen with 5 gas burner/electric oven range cooker, microwave, fridge with ice box, toaster, kettle and quality utensils plus Sabatier knife set. Everything from quick snacks to gourmet meals served at the massive farmhouse table. The barn is supplied with its own water source, filtered and UV treated, for the perfect cup of tea. Upstairs the spacious living area, which includes two daybeds, has open beams, English oak floorboards and steps down to the garden. Wooden shutters provide a blackout for viewing stunning HD TV and Netflix movies via a video projector with surround sound. Sky Sports available if a day or week pass purchased. The bedroom has adjoining wet room with WC and basin. The whole barn is connected to Wi-Fi and the eating area has a Mac computer with internet and TV. All linen and towels provided. Property is cleaned and linen and towels renewed at changeover or weekly. Although the barn is surrounded by countryside, it is only a few minutes' drive from the town, which is served by banks, post office, supermarkets and a mainline rail station. 4G mobile coverage with most providers. Mid Cornwall is perfect for accessing all of the county's many attractions - from the rugged north coast to the far west, from the wilds of Bodmin Moor to the delights of the Eden Project and Heligan Gardens. Settings for the Rosamunde Pilcher stories within easy reach. Transport to and from St Austell railway station can be arranged if you wish to come by train. Narrow stairs from kitchen to living area and bedroom may be unsuitable for anyone with impaired mobility. Access to the property is via a farm lane/bridle path which is not suitable for very low slung vehicles such as sports cars and can get muddy in the winter. Standard family cars are fine. Sorry but we do not allow pets. We bought the disused and dilapidated barns near to the house in 1995 and have spent the intervening years repairing and restoring them with the skilled assistance of Allan and Richard, the carpenters, Les, the cob specialist and Pete, our nephew. Along with the barns came a small field, where we now have our kitchen garden and where the chickens are fenced among the trees in a copse. The cob barn restoration was completed in the summer of 2012 after many years of hard work. It has been a labour of love, with much attention paid to detail as our long-term aim is to live there ourselves. Cob is a mixture of clay subsoil and straw that is wetted and trampled, originally by cattle but nowadays by digger, to get the right consistency. It is laid on a base of stone, heeled in and each layer left to dry before being adzed smooth and coated in lime plaster to allow it to breath. Cob buildings can last for centuries if they have "a good hat and a good pair of boots". The thick cob walls keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
  • Such an amazing little getaway! 100% will be staying in the future! The kitchen is an amazing place to cook and eat a roast with all amenities you could want. You also pretty much have your own private cinema! Cannot fault this place at all. Amazing job on the restoration!

The Housekeeper's Hideaway is a unique studio space 2 minutes walk from Mevagissey's picturesque working fishing harbour. The space is perfect for couples, or solo travellers, who are looking for somewhere a little unusual, definitely with a boutique feel, as well as wanting a cosy home-from-home to return to at the end of the day. The cave like structure of the original dwelling, including the cliff wall, was exposed during an extensive refurbishment in 2016 and dates back to the mid 1600s.
Access to your own front door is down one flight of external stairs from my patio. The space is unique because when you descend the stairs and look through the window you then discover that you are actually two floors up as the house is built into the cliff. Light floods into the space through the beautiful double sash window - which fills an entire wall of the studio - and you can gaze out across the village. The immediate view is of rooftops and the neighbour's patio. Another wall of the studio - a lime pointed stone wall - is at ground level against a secret passage way which runs behind a terrace of nearby cottages. There is now a window where there was once a doorway through which the Housekeeper - for the adjoining property The Old Dairy - would pass to reach her husband's cottage. There is a huge fire place with a Wood Burner for cosy evenings in a painted stone wall. The fourth and final wall - the backdrop for your bathroom / shower and small kitchen - is actually the rock face or cliff. There are two marks in the cliff that suggest the cottage was once home to a traditional pilchard press which, given that the Housekeeper's husband was a fisherman, is likely. The space has been sympathetically restored keeping all of the original features. The overall look is paired back and simple with a touch of modern industrial; the space also features Danish-style pale solid ash flooring. The wet room has gorgeous fittings and natural stone tiles from Fired Earth that complement the rock and I have added a super cute mini kitchen from IKEA so that you can cook breakfast and simple meals. Please feel free to get in touch if you would like any further information. PLEASE NOTE: in order to highlight the cliff wall - the wet room (loo and basin) within the studio space is enclosed behind a large glass screen / door which does not extend to the ceiling. However whilst a stunning and unique design feature this does not allow for a great deal of privacy; please take this into consideration before booking.

  • We had the most lovely few days at Pam's place. The loveliest of getaways. Everything was very clean. Definitely for fit couples as the place is on a bit of a hill. The only downside was that we didn't book in for longer! Mevagissey is a lovely village with plenty to do, and amazing access to the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. We also walked along the coastal cliff to a beach half an hours walk away, which was lovely. 10/10 recommend.

For those interested, we have a book written by a local lady who recalls the history of the chapel as a child in the early 1900s. The main chapel room still retains the original pulpit, stained glass windows and organ, as well as a full set of Britannica Encyclopedias dating back to the 19th century. However, it is not without its modern amenities! The whole room has a surround-sound HIFI system, plus there is a 55 inch smart TV and vast selection of films. Alternatively, you can tuck into a book or enjoy one of our board games. The kitchen is well-equipped to cook for groups of all sizes, with Heligan Farm Shop only a short drive away should you want to stock up on delicious local produce. There is also a dishwasher, all the regular kitchen appliances, brand new cooker & stove, washing machine and tumble dyer. The double-doored fridge freezer provides ample space to store food for large groups. Upstairs, the sleeping arrangements are perfectly set out for families. The bunk room (5 singles) is great for kids and shares an en-suite bathroom with a large walk in shower with one of the double rooms. The other double bedroom boasts stunning views of the Cornish countryside. This room has its own bathroom right opposite with a dreamy roll top bath. We also provide a large variety of free beach equipment if you fancy heading down to one of the beautiful beaches for the day - several are only 5-10 minutes drive away. This includes surfboards, bodyboards, a kayak, wetsuits of all sizes, fishing rods, inflatables, buckets and spades, BBQ equipment, the list goes on! There is a Post Office in Gorran Churchtown around 2 mins drive away, which has all the essentials. There is also another store around 5 minutes drive in Gorran Haven. Mevagissey is around a 7 minute drive and has a larger selection of shops and takeaways. Around a 20 minute drive away in St Austell there is a Tesco, Asda and more. Any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch! Activities: The Lost Gardens of Heligan - only 5 minutes drive, these magnificent gardens are very popular all year round. Also has a wonderful farm shop with local produce. The Eden Project - said to be the 8th wonder of the world, these giant biomes house artificial environments such as rain forests and Mediterranean deserts. There are also other activities such as zip lining. Around 20-25 minutes drive. Surfing - If conditions are right, it is possible to surf at local beaches, such as Caerhay's, Hemmick and Pentewan. If not, more consistent surfing beaches on the North are only 40-45 minutes drive i.e. Watergate bay and Fistral. Pentewan valley cycle hire - 10 minutes drive. Mevagissey - a traditional fishing village with shops, restaurants (we highly recommend Alvorada and Salamanders) and loads of great pubs. Caerhays estate and castle - 5 minutes drive. Polmassick Vineyard - 10 minutes drive. Melinsey mill cream tea - 15 minutes drive. St Austell Brewery - 20 minutes drive. Charlestown - Around 20 minutes drive, see the amazing tall-ships and if you are lucky some great film sets! Fowey - Historic harbour town, around 40 minutes. The Minnack Theatre - a fairly long drive at 1 hour 30 mins, but well worth it! This historic theatre is carved into the edge of a cliff and over looks the sea! They show various Shakespearian plays and kids shows throughout the summer. Book in advance.
Gorran High Lanes is a tiny hamlet in the heart of the South Cornwall countryside surrounded by farmland.
  • This is a great place to stay! The chapel room is beautiful and great fun to explore. Our children absolutely loved it, their imaginations were going wild! The kitchen has everything you need and the beds are pretty comfortable too. We had to wrestle with the heating a bit to get the whole place warm, but we managed it and it was very cosy. Definitely recommend.

  • The Old Chapel is a unique and wonderful place stay. So much nearby to see and do. The Caerhays beach just down the road is a real gem on the doorstep. We were a party of 9 from 7 - 61 years. Everyone loved the place and its was easy to be there as a big group without being on top of each other all the time. The kitchen is well stocked making cooking big meals easy. We all had a great time and William really was a super host.

Mevagissey is a wonderful little Cornish fishing village in South East Cornwall. Ideally located within easy reach of both The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project. The tiny seaside village is packed with old Cornish cottages complete with narrow alleyways leading to converted fish cellars offering gift shops, galleries, pubs and cafes. Once a major Pilchard port, now the harbour boasts a smaller fleet, many of which provide sea tours, or boat trips to Fowey situated further up the South coast. The Harbour provides an ideal back drop for a fish and chip supper, followed by a stroll through the town at dusk. With a eight minute drive to The Lost Gardens of Heligan and 30 minutes to the Eden Project, Mevagissey provides a excellent location for the keen gardener. Gorran Haven nearby offers an alternative day out as well as Pentewan with its fresh water dock basin. You can continue south along the coast down to Caerhays Castle and Porthluney Cove. Cliff walks in all directions along the coast offer spectacular views out across the St Austell Bay.
  • Great location and great accommodation, we will definitely come back to Ferryman’s Cottage.

  • This was just what we needed for two for a week; we needed Friday to Friday and not many were available. Excellent views over the inner harbour. Quiet location, almost no traffic underneath, only occasional foot traffic immediately in front (probably a bit different in summer?). Not large but very comfortable. Nice to have a real bath after a wet walk. Very narrow and quite steep stairs; no worry for us but could be a problem for some. Electric hob very basic old-fashioned style but quite adequate. The wifi key was not visible and asking the 'host' Richard said I should ask the housekeeper which wasn't as helpful as it should have been. I didn't bother as we had good 4G reception and a goody bag with plenty of data, and I think it unlikely the housekeeper would have known; it doesn't strike me as part of their role. If you really need wifi double-check details before booking. Richard is not really the host, but agent for cornwallscottages, but in his role as host as far as Airbnb is concerned he should have been more helpful.

    Stephen2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is even prettier in real life than it is in the photos, and that's saying something! We came here directly after our wedding, hoping for a quiet, relaxing few days on the Cornish coast, and it was exactly what we were hoping for. Richard sent very detailed and easy-to-follow instructions very early on, which was extremely helpful, especially given how busy we were before leaving. The house itself couldn't be better located - the sea, the harbour and the town all just a few steps away - but also extremely quiet and peaceful. It is beautifully furnished, very clean and cosy. The town itself is lovely, with plenty to do nearby and the coastal path easily accessible. All in all we had a wonderful few days and would recommend this to anyone.

  • This cottage was the perfect break away from the stress of everyday life. The cottage itself is very beautiful with lots of character. It is perfectly located on the harbour with stunning views and easy walking distance to the pubs / restaurants. This cottage was so good we will definitely be back again.

  • Has a wonderful week long stay in the beautiful Mevagissey. The cottage is very quaint and in a perfect location. The view of the working harbour is exceptional. The cottage has everything you could need. The kitchen is well equipped and easy to use. Comfy bed, good storage space just outside. The bath was great and the shower too. We loved having a real fire in December. There was even wifi, which we weren't expecting! There is a fairly steep climb to the cottage, so anyone with mobility issues may want to consider this. But in less than a minute you can be at the harbour side. The car had to be parked across the harbour, about 3/4 km away, but a pleasant walk looking at the boats and shops (and seagulls!) even in the rain. Easy to unload and load your luggage just below the cottage, but may be a little trickier at the height of tourist season. We have stayed in Meva on several occasions, but this is our new favourite place to stay and we will be back. There was even a very lovely ginger cat who invited himself in, which we were very pleased about! Such a friendly chap. We shall give him full marks on Catadvisor. (His name is Willow or 'The Harbour Master' and he belongs to a woman called Molly who lives up the road! There is also Ralph, a black cat, who is also a great local feline!)

    Claire2018-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Had a really great couple of days at the cottage. Fantastic location a short walk from everything you need. The cottage is well equipped and has everything you need. The only thing I struggled with was the mixer taps on the shower! Parking was easy even in the middle of August!

    Cindy2018-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • The views from the cottage are absolutely lovely. It helps that Mevagissey is still a working fishing village. It makes it more interesting. The cottage is really funky. It's been carved into the rocks and as such the walls follow how the place was carved out. Namely, the walls are not square and instead tend to be curved in places. Otherwise the place is very comfortably and had everything we needed. I would certainly stay there again if we were to return to Mevagissey.

    Claudia & Steve2018-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy cottage with spectacular views. Clean and tidy. Very close to stores and restaurants. It was a little chilly, even with the space heater. A wood burning stove is available if you have the means to light it.

Britannia Studio is a one bedroom annex attached to our Grade 2 listed Britannia Cottage and believed to be one of the oldest properties in Mevagissey. We are ideally situated just a few hundred yards from the beautiful working fishing harbour of Mevagissey, with its numerous pubs, restaurants and shops. National Cycle Route 3 passes within 100 yards and there is easy access to the South West Coastal Path.
Britannia Studio has been brought back to life after 3 years of painstaking renovation, where the natural Cornish stone walls have been exposed and many other features revealed. The cottage and studio are built on bed rock this is visible within the studio area. Locally it is believed Britannia Cottage and Studio was once a farm house with a thatched roof and surrounded by fields. It is believed to date back to the 15th century. The stone walls are three foot thick and held together with cob (a mixture of clay, straw and sometimes horse hair). The studio walls have also been pointed with a lime mortar, although the original cob can still be seen in the main cottage. The studio has its own entrance which leads into the kitchen area with breakfast bar, oven, hob, microwave and small fridge. There's a stone fire place with yew beam, which according to the local conservation officer was once an old communal bake oven. This has a portable gas fire. From the kitchen there's a small toilet and hand basin with limited space. The sitting area with a two seater leather sofa, TV, Wifi, views of the exposed bed rock and stone walls that rise from floor to ceiling of the Mezzanine above. During the renovation we uncovered an old mooring ring or possibly a ring to tether an animal to, this can be seen on the bed rock. Throughout the ground floor of the studio, the floor is laid with slate and having the benefit of underfloor heating. From the kitchen area, the bedroom is accessed from a small set of stairs. The stairs have a relatively sharp curve at the top. Some people might find these difficult to negotiate, especially if you are unsteady on your feet. There are however, bannisters for your assistance. The bedroom area has a wooden double bed, clothes hanging rail, bedside tables, chest of draws, radiator, TV, a sitting area with two chairs, small table and two velux windows with views across the village towards the sea in the distance. This is a very bright airy room, with solid oak flooring, oak balustrade overlooking the sitting area below and exposed stone walls. There is an en suite with shower area, sink, toilet and heated towel rail. Britannia Studio has a small raised decking area next to the entrance, with table and two chairs. Ideal for you to sit out with a glass of wine after a hard days sightseeing. We accept one large dog or two small dogs. We charge a £10 cleaning fee per stay for dogs, this is requested separately. Although there is no parking at Britannia Studio, we have a parking permit for our guests to use free of charge. This is for Willow Car Park a short walk away.

  • We had a lovely stay here. The apartment is exactly as described and pictured with everything you need. The homemade bread and selection of treats for breakfast was fantastic and beyond anything I’ve had anywhere else. There is a private entrance and Kev and Anna were lovely to chat to and available if we needed them but otherwise left us to relax. You are right in the town, walking distance to everything including the coastal path, pubs and restaurants. The nearest big shop is a drive away but after stocking up we were fine. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Great little place and hosts.

  • This is perfectly positioned apartment to explore Mevagissey and the surrounding fishing villages. There are excellent coffee shops and restaurants only a few minutes walk. The apartment itself is of a very high quality and standard of cleanliness. Ross and Daniel have thought everything to ensure that we had a comfortable stay, with all we needed for a relaxing chill out time. We loved it and will definitely be returning in the future.

  • A beautiful apartment in a beautiful part of the world. The thoughtful details and stylish decor made our weekend feel really special. We really loved staying here

  • This stay felt like a home away from home, Mevagissey is a lovely village and this apartment was situated in a perfect location. It undoubtedly deserves the 5 stars it has been given by other guests. Being the depths of winter we still managed to have a wonderful time in the local pubs - highly recommend the fountain for food. We travelled daily to other amazing places in cornwall such as st ives, fowey, perranporth and watergate bay. The apartment was fully equipped with great instructions for everything and the interior design is amazing! Thanks so much for a wonderful stay and thanks to laura for being so welcoming too.

  • The most magical and charming Airbnb! Absolutely immaculate, beautifully designed, with heaps of character and artistic furniture and furnishings. Genuinely the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, and the bathroom is stunning and beautifully illuminated. The apartment is so well-equipped, and before you realise you need something, youve already found it! Daniel and Ross went above and beyond as hosts, with great communication pre check-in, coming to help me with my bags, and with local tips and information. What a beautiful and festive place to spend Christmas. Last but not least, you will never be alone with the lovely (Amazon) Alexa to keep you company. The only negative was having to leave! Thank you Daniel and Ross for making my stay so special, I will definitely be back :-).

  • What a great hidden gem. Lovely cottage with everything you could ask for. We really enjoyed our stay in Cornwall only made better with cottage.

  • Great place! Very stylish, exactly like photos. Location is perfect too (although we took a couple of wrong turns in the town and got stuck a few times on some tiny, steep streets!) Nice town, nice food, nice shops, nice coastal walks. Only issue we had it that the house has very low ceilings so my 6ft 4" husband couldn't stand up straight anywhere! But not a complaint as is to be expected in an old house! Overall, highly recommend

  • We had a great stay at William’s place. There were some lovely touches at the cottage when we arrived that made us feel very welcome. It’s a stylish cottage with everything you need for your stay and just a short walk in to the town and to the coastal path. We found parking no problem on the road slightly up from the cottage. All round a lovely stay, thank you.

Little Lladnar is a self contained one bedroomed annex to our lovely home in the beautiful fishing village of Mevagissey. Comfortable with a light and airy décor, we are just a few minutes walk to the picturesque harbour, numerous shops, pubs and restaurants. The space includes a kitchenette, one bedroom, a spacious lounge and a shower room with sink and toilet and has it's own entrance.
Set in a traditional working fishing village boasting one of the prettiest harbours in Cornwall. We are located on what locals call the 'sunny side' of the village and in our view the best side! It is a very pleasant short walk down hill to the harbour with picturesque views along the way. We are in a peaceful elevated position with lovely views of the village in a south facing and sunny location. The house was built by my Great Gramp in 1915 and has been loved by the family ever since. We live in the oldest part of the house which is separate from the flat and where possible we are on hand to help you make the most of your stay in Mevagissey with our local knowledge , having lived here all of our lives. Entry to the property is via a few steps. The flat is modern and has recently been redecorated throughout and free WIFI is provided. The kitchenette contains a fridge, combination microwave which has an oven and grill (there is not a full size oven), a portable hob, toaster, kettle and breakfast bar. We will provide cereals, bread, marmalade and jam, tea, coffee, milk and orange juice so that you can have a good breakfast to start your day. Down the hallway is a spacious living room with TV/Sky Q and DVD player and a large sofa and has lovely views over the village and fields opposite. Next to this is a light and airy double bedroom with TV/Sky Q, fitted wardrobes and plenty of storage space and a hair dryer. At the other end of the flat is a wet room containing a walk in shower, sink and toilet. Also provided are towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There is an iron and ironing board for your use. Outside of the property there is access to the garden with seating and a table. Adjacent to the property is a parking space for one car. We are just a few moments walk from the beautiful Cornish Coastal Path. This continues all around Cornwall where you can enjoy amazing walks with spectacular views. Polstreath Beach is also just a short walk away and is accessed via the coastal path and down several steps. This is a stunning beach which is secluded and usually very quiet. If you prefer there are also plenty of busier beaches nearby which can be reached upon foot or by car. Mevagissey is on National Cycle Route 3 for any keen cyclists. We are just 2 miles from the Lost Garden's of Heligan which is well worth a visit and can be reached by car or by a pleasant walk through the valley and we are just 10 miles from the famous Eden Project. Mevagissey is an excellent central location from which to explore the whole of Cornwall.

  • Would 100% be returning to this lovely cosy get away place that Debbie & John provide, perfect location with all the amenities, couldn’t ask for more.

    Dave2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Debbie's place was fantastic. It was ideally placed just above the beautiful village of Mevagissey, a 5 min walk down the hill to the harbour (10 mins back up!) From booking to arrival communications with Debbie were prompt and helpful. The apartment itself was perfect for two, with plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the comforts of home. It was great to have the option of breakfast with supplies left for toast, cereal, tea and coffee. We didn't cook as we were only there for one night and the village has lots of great options for eating out, but the kitchen was well equipped should we have wanted to cook an evening meal. The parking space was an added bonus and Debbie's instructions to get to the house were spot-on. All in all a great find, we will certainly return next time we are looking for accommodation in our favourite Cornish fishing village!

    Emily2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay with Debbie and John! 'Little Lladnar' is in a brilliant location (5 minute walk down to the harbour) and is the perfect size for a couple looking for a chilled break in a comfy spot. The hosts themselves were really friendly and helpful and Debbie even came and picked us up from Gorran Haven which was super kind of her! Very much recommended!

    Ross2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A really great place to stay! Very convenient for the harbour with not too much hill to climb. Parking is an added bonus. The little flat is spacious and equipped with everything you need. The hosts are very helpful and friendly and go above and beyond in making you feel welcome. Highly recommended for your visit to Mevagissey.

    Sarah2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the place, it is very comfortable, clean, has everything you need for a short or a long stay. It’s close to the shops and restaurants and the harbour. Debbie is a great host and we highly recommend this place

  • Debbie and John's apartment was lovely with everything you need and many thoughtful touches, including breakfast items. It was easy to find thanks to Debbie's clear directions and having a parking space was brilliant. This is a lovely place and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

  • Julie’s apartment is beautiful; cosy, welcoming and modern. The kitchen has every utensil you could possibly need, the DVD and board game collection will keep you occupied if the weather means staying in and it just feels like a home from home. Mevagissey is lovely, we’ve eaten our body weight in fish, scones and ice cream. Communication from Julie is fast and spot on, she and her husband have great insider information on the best places to eat and drink and they’re so thoughtful - not only did they leave scones, cream and jam for us but also a birthday card for my fiancé and a welcome card for us both. Highly recommend!

  • A Beautifully furnished apartment in the centre of Mevagissey. Daniel and Ross were great at communicating and were really accommodating when we booked last minute. Fran was also really friendly on arrival. The flat was spotless and had everything we needed, including a few extras. We also took advantage of the board games and well equipped laundry area after a muddy run along the coastal path. We’d love to return in the future and will definitely be recommending the apartment to friends.

    David2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay during Christmas time! The flat is beautifully decorated and something that one can notice is the attention to details. Location is amazing, just in the harbour, which is lovely, with pubs and restaurants nearby. Daniel and Ross are the best Airbnb hosts we had, so friendly and willing to help, it added so much to the overall positive impression we were left with about Mevagissey. We would definitely return.

    Alexandru2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best Airbnb’s we have ever stayed in. We were lucky enough to be upgraded, so we had extra space but the smaller apartments were also lovely. In October we took advantage of lower rates but we would love to return in warmer months to use the kayaks! Beautiful setting, great location and incredibly friendly hosts.

It was exactly as described in the listing and Daniel and Ross were fantastic hosts. We will definitely come back as they made us feel really at home. The extra little details like a welcome drink and helping us with luggage were really nice touches.

  • Just had a fantastic long weekend in this wonderful house. Communication from the outset was clear and accurate and we had no problem finding the house. We were left a parking permit which was a great help. We were blown away to find that we had been left a lovely Cornish cream tea to welcome us. The house is spotlessly clean with a lovely atmosphere. We had a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend this property to anyone.

  • Just perfect! We've stayed in lots of cottages in different Cornish places and this is one of our favourites. Such a welcoming but stylish space, very comfortable with little touches to make a family feel very at home. Warm and cosy in the winter, a short flat walk to the harbour and pubs and shops, great wi-fi for the kids (!), comfortable beds and lovely linen, perfect for dogs with bowls and a bed provided. There is nothing nicer than walking the dog around the harbour each morning, watching the fishermen mending their nets and chatting to a few local dog walkers. We were made to feel very welcome by the village and enjoyed our winter break very much - even the weather was kind!

    Allice2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifully appointed house with excellent location near the centre of the village, with pubs and restaurants all within easy reach. The house was fitted to the highest and most comfortable specifications and we were charmed by it. The people in the village were warm and welcoming - we even went carolling with them one night - and I would recommend Mevagissey to anyone thinking of a trip to Cornwall. Mandi was a fine host, very responsive to our requests for information. We did not need any help during our stay but I am sure she would sort everything out if needed very quickly. I hope you book your next stay with Mandi and Andi.

Mevagissey is a stunningly beautiful working fishing village with numerous independent shops, pubs, coffee shops and restaurants. You can catch up with the Mevagissey Male voice choir on rehearsal night in the Fountain on a Monday evening. Mevagissey Harbour is a magical place to walk around and explore during the day and take an evening stroll. If you fancy trip to trip to Fowey the Mevagissey Ferry will speed you over the bay in less than an hour. Fishing and speed boat trips are on offer directly from the harbour, coastal cruises on authentic fishing boats offer a fabulous view of the Cornish coast from the sea. Kayak, paddle board and jet skis are available to hire from Pentewan sands just a 10 minute drive away or Gorran Haven beach a 15 minute car drive.
  • Superb host and beautiful place! Both the area and property are incredible and Sarah was extremely helpful! Would highly recommend and love to go again

  • Sworne Cottage was exactly as described on the Airbnb website, clean, well equipped and close to Mevagissey harbour. Everything was there that we needed, milk, biscuits(!), washing up liquid, both dishwasher and washing machine tabs as well as plenty of towels and tea towels. I loved the candles set into the stone wall and we enjoyed a few romantic meals at the kitchen table. Really well placed for the Eden Project, Lost Hardens of Heligan and Charlestown. Would definitely recommend to couples looking to walk and enjoy good food without driving.

  • Really enjoyed our winter break at Sarah's house, great location and has its own parking! We really liked the tasteful decoration and comfort, we would happily recommend.

    Richard2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Really cosy cottage and the perfect place to relax and explore the area.

    Daniel2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Swore cottage is beautiful retreat in an amazing position which is true to its description and just a 4 minute stroll down into the town of Meva. The cottage is very clean, cosy and lived up to our expectations in the description and we loved the welcoming touches left by Sarah with a bunch of seasonal daffodils and local Cornish biscuits ideal with our cuppa. We would not hesitate to return and would recommend to anyone who would like a relaxed retreat with great facilities, unfortunately for us because of the weather we were unable to use the outside space but we could definitely imaging it would have been a great place to take in a sundowner 🍷 We found everyone in Meva extremely welcoming and will definitely return, thank you Sarah for making our stay so good 😍

    Rita2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • A great cottage in a fantastic location. The garden in the warm winter sunshine was an added bonus. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay and was very comfortable.

    Clare2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • What a great find for anybody wanting to visit lovely Mevagissey. The cottage is delightful; well equipped; perfectly formed with a restful white, blue and teal palette in the bedrooms and bathroom. A private parking space is an important bonus with view over the harbour (but be careful on the narrow streets). Sarah was a very helpful host and always responds promptly. I hope to return soon.

    Liz2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • We visit this part of Cornwall fairly regularly, normally camping. This is a lovely Cornish cottage, with full facilities. Ourselves and the dogs were very comfortable and it felt like a home away from home. Highly recommended.

  • We loved our stay in Mermaid cottage. It was everything we’d hoped for and more. Some of the highlights include the amazing view and the sound of the sea from our bedroom windows, the lovely big fire that kept us warm and cosy every evening, the general simple, cosy feel of the place and the cleanliness. Our four girls were thrilled with their bunk beds and with the cottage in general - they spent most of the holiday wanting to ‘stay home’ and play hide and seek or explore! We will absolutely come again and we highly recommend this cottage.

    Rachael2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Mermaid cottage is a truly magical place to stay. The view from the terrace is just stunning and we loved how close we were to the sea. It is perfect for paddle boarding, you can launch straight from the rocks below the backdoor. Port Mellon is a lovely, quiet bay with a beach to explore and beautiful coastal walks. We can't wait to go back to Mermaid cottage - we loved our stay.

    Kirsten2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • A very special cottage in the most incredible position by the sea. We had a magical time here.

    Rosie2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • The location of the cottage is amazing. Never stayed so close to the sea before. Port Mellon is charming and nice and quiet compared to Mevagissy which is just a short walk away.

    Melissa2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed many times at this cosy retreat, perfectly situated as it is on the rocks above the ever changing tide. Looking forward to many more return visits.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your apartment , very convenient to the centre and train station. Even though the air con was not working we appreciated you buying two fans for us. We also enjoyed the out door space, thank you for a very pleasant stay.

  • Lovely location. Can’t fault the view and ease of access into Mevagissey . Loved this cottage

    Fiona2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful cottage in a delightful, unique location. All furnishings and fabrics are of very good quality. Fully equipped, we lacked for nothing. Two reserved spaces in the nearby carpark were invaluable.

    Neil2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Corner Cottage’s cliffside location on Portmellon Bay is simply perfect; it’s close enough to shops and restaurants in Mevagissey, but it’s also a peaceful haven away from it all by the sea. The charming fisherman’s cottage is well equipped, the beds are comfortable and the thick white towels are luxurious. Tom communicated well to any queries we had. We loved being lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean...

    Catherine2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing location, close enough to walk in to Mevagissy. The local pub was very welcoming with good food. We were lucky with the weather and swam every day, could almost have been abroad if it wasn’t for the slight chill of getting into the water initially! My children did a bit of free diving and assured us that it was as beautiful under the water as above it. The coastal walking was great too, the Hidden Hut at Portscatho is worth a visit. We took kayaks and a paddle board so an outside tap would have been useful for washing them off but we appreciated water is probably metered and not all guests would use it sparingly. Thanks again, we would love to return

    Jane2019-09-06T00:00:00Z

  • This is by far the best AirBnB I've ever stayed in. Everything was perfect. Daniel and Ross were fantastic hosts and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and ensured we had everything we needed. The apartment is great - spotlessly clean and creatively decorated. It is spacious with a fitted kitchen, extremely comfortable beds and a bathroom with lovely products. We really couldn't fault it. They've done a great job with the design which makes it really special. I'm sure we'll be back!

  • We had a fantastic two night stay at Daniel & Ross’ beautiful property. The decor was amazing and every detail had been thought of. They met us to check in, giving us lots of local information which was really helpful and check out was really easy. Both bedrooms were very comfortable and the beds were amazing! We would definitely come and back and would 100% recommend. Thank you for having us!

  • Lovely accommodation in a great location just a short walk into town, extremely clean and generally a lovely space. And some really thoughtful extras for an added bonus!

    Hayley2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy was a brilliant host. Very friendly and helpful but not at all intrusive. The house is ideal for 4 and is warm, well equipped and comfortable. The road up is steep but well worth the climb for the views. Perfect for a week's holiday.

    Tim2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Harbour View is a beautiful house with a fabulous view of Mevagissey Harbour. The house has private parking and the rooms are tastefully decorated, clean, bright and warm. Our host Tracy was very helpful and, in true Cornwall tradition, provided us with homemade scones, cream and jam along with some other provisions. The house is a very short walk to the harbour but, it should be noted, is at the top of a steep hill so renters need to be able to walk or be physically fit. There is a car park very close by with reasonable rates so don’t be put off. I know Mevagissey very well so was prepared for the hill. I would highly recommend Harbour View and would rebook in a heartbeat.

    trevor2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great check in, beautiful apartment, very well thought out. If coming without car get a taxi if you have luggage, the hill is steep but ok without bags. Great kitchen to cook in, lots of bathrooms, what a luxury. Would recommend to friends.

  • A really lovely cottage with everything provided for a comfortable break away. Rock Cottage literally perches in an unbeatable location for sea views and for stepping down onto Portmellon beach. Car parking nearby was straight forward and there was plenty to do straight from the door as a family with dog eg walking into Mevagissey was a short, scenic route. Stuart was on hand with local top tips and we were well looked after. Wild weather days and the noise of crashing waves just added to the cottage's charm. We definitely hope to return one day.

    Tim2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • A stunning cottage in a tranquil location. Situated literally on the sea front, sounds of the sea could be heard through the day. Found this very peaceful and relaxing. Stuart’s extra touches were second to none. Fresh milk, eggs and cake welcomed us as we arrived in the cottage. Can’t wait to return in 2019!!

  • We have just had the best holiday in the beautiful Rock Cottage. The scenery is mesmerising and we loved the tide coming in and going out—and waking up to the sound of the sea. I would thoroughly recommend Rock Cottage- probably the most well equipped cottage that we have stayed in. The owner gave us some great advice on the roads and the places to visit and we have many many memories to cherish from our stay.

  • What a location, a real hidden gem, didn’t want to leave. Everything you possibly need, very comfortable bed, good shower and the most delicious welcome fruit cake. Take some good walking shoes and so many beautiful walks.

  • Beautiful location and perfect place to unwind!

  • Beautiful location, a short walk into Mevagissy, Portmellon is an a very pretty little cove, nice walk round to Chapel Point. The Shack was wonderful for a healthy lunch option and we enjoyed a drink in the local pub, although the opening times were a little random. Chy Rani was so cute, perfect for the two of us and our little dog. Everything we wanted and more a fabulous break.

  • I had the best air bnb experience at Chy Rani. Everything was perfect and I even extended my stay. The cottage is perfectly laid out, even with baking awaiting me. Close to the coastal path and only a 15 min walk to lovely Mevagissey, I cannot recommend Chy Rani enough. Correspondence and care was excellent and I loved making my coffee and watching the sun rise in the morning. There was even a Christmas tree for me. Like another reviewer wrote, I’m currently working out when I can return. Beautiful spot for a serene retreat with gluten free bakery Teacup in Mevagissey and fab pubs when you need some coastal company. Thanks so much for a fabulous stay!

  • Fab views to die for, accommodation does what it says on the tin. Small but comfortable and everything you need. Lovely welcome touches from hosts. Great stay and highly recommended. You can get better quality accommodation at the same price; I suspect the view and excellent location is what you're paying the extra for!

    Mark2018-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Location: Chy Rani is perched right above the sea, on the edge of Portmellon cove. The beach and local pub are both a 1 minute walk away. It’s a 10 minute walk to Mevagissey which has lovely restaurants, great fish and chip shop and a beautiful harbour, plus a tackle shop. The rooms: The place was extremely well appointed and quiet, despite the sea being so close. It felt spacious and had incredible views across the water. We sat outside to eat breakfast in the sun most days! The kitchen had everything we needed. There wasn’t tons to do in the local area, we enjoyed the Lost Gardens of Heligon and walks on the coast path. Highly recommended.

Wake up to amazing sea views, spectacular coastline and unique experiences on your doorstep with a holiday at Cliff Cottage, a comfortable, cosy 19th century fisherman’s cottage on the South West Coast Path above the bustling traditional fishing harbour of Mevagissey in South Cornwall.
Cliff Cottage is in a fantastic location on The Cliff, overlooking the harbour walls, lighthouse and out to sea. No cars can drive up there so it is quiet and relaxing, with just the sound of seagulls and local fishing boats. The village shops, pubs, restaurants, cafes, beach and cliff-top park are all a few minutes walk away. After an invigorating walk up to the cottage, take a rest on the bench outside and enjoy the view. You then enter the cottage via the private alleyway that we share with our neighbours. Downstairs you'll find a comfy lounge with dining area looking out onto the harbour, and a dining room to the rear of the cottage that leads onto the kitchen and laundry area. Upstairs are two bedrooms; one double bedroom to the front of the cottage with sea views and ensuite shower room, and a smaller twin bedroom to the rear of the cottage with ensuite bathroom. This bedroom is more suitable for children because the ceilings are quite low.
Mevagissey is a lively village with a colourful history, a busy working fishing harbour and friendly locals. It’s a great location for exploring the beautiful coastline and fantastic nearby attractions including the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the National Trust’s Lanhydrock House and the world famous Eden Project.

  • Marilyn was a great host made us feel very welcome very accommodating & told us what we needed to know about the local ares! Myself & another lad stayed here for two weeks as we were working in the area. Would we stay again, 100% it's a no brainer. Perfect location lovely little flat & all the amenities you would have in your own home. Thanks Marilyn, if we are in the area again you'll definitely be our first call :-) Take care & lovely to meet you x

  • Am's Flat is exactly as advertised. Short stroll to the harbour and village. View of rooftops and hillside. Great location for walking the coast path. Marilyn was helpful, friendly and kind enough to pick me up and drop me off at the station.

  • Marilyn was a fantastic host, meeting us when we arrived (late in the evening) to guide us to the parking space for the property. The flat was in a great location overlooking Mevagissey Harbour and had great facilities, including a very well-equipped kitchen, complete with a fresh cream tea in the fridge! We thoroughly recommend this place.

  • Lovely place with everything you need in the flat to enjoy your stay and unwind. Everything is a short walk or drive away from the property. Really enjoyed it. Marilyn was very lovely and helpful, she enjoys what she does and is a wonderful host :) Thank you.

    Anastasia2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Marilyn's flat for four nights in August 2019. The flat is lovely with everything you need and a fantastic outdoor seating/dining area that catches the sun for most of the day. The flat is in a great location - approximately two minutes walk down the steps to Mevagissey. Marilyn was a great host from the off; assisting with parking and dropping off our bags and providing two delicious cream scones for our arrival. The village has plenty to offer with many restaurants and shops. We enjoyed fresh seafood everyday sold on the quay and the coastal path walk to nearby Pentewan. All in all a brilliant holiday and a superb location to enjoy it from. I would highly recommend Marilyn's flat, and we hope to return in the future.

  • No amount of photographs can do this little gem of a place justice. Anna has definitely got that magic touch when it comes to making her guests feel totally relaxed and spoiled. We spent a week at the end of October in beautiful Megavissey, our first Cornish holiday. It rained the majority of the time, but it didn't stop us getting out and about. What made it that bit more special was knowing that we had all the cosy, home comforts and more to return to at the end of the day. If you're a couple considering a trip to Cornwall, you'll find this hard to beat!

  • A lovely well appointed private apartment with a garden up the hill from the lovely quaint seaside town of Mevagissey. Anna is a great host, very special and very helpful and warm. We were very comfortable and could even sit outside in the garden and enjoy the end of summer. Parking outside on the pad allotted is a little difficult but possible. And Mevagissey is a good central place to visit so many of the other places in Cornwall like the Eden Project and many of the well known towns like Plymouth, St Michael Mount, Padstow, Falmouth, Fowey, Penzance, Mousehole and even Lands End.

    Lynne2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • When you look at the photographs you think could it really be that lovely, well Ponderosa is certainly that and more. Elegantly designed and equipped, with your own private garden only metres from the centre of Mevagissey it is the perfect place to stay. Just one note of caution, steps and steep slopes may make this wonderful spot a challenge for some people, but the property itself is exquisite, with a caring and kind host.

    Jacqueline2019-09-09T00:00:00Z

Our property is a light open plan kitchen/sitting area with one bedroom, shower and toilet upstairs. The bedroom has restricted height to one side shown in the photos. Outside is a cobbled area, by the side of a quiet lane, with a bench to catch the morning sun. We are fortunate to have secure off road parking for a guest’s car in our gated drive. Mevagissey is a charming fishing village with its picturesque working harbour, narrow streets, restaurants, pubs and shops, 4 minutes easy walk away.
My husband’s paintings can be seen throughout the cottage and in our gallery in the village. The property is not suitable for children as the stairs are open. Sorry no pets.
Mevagissey is a bustling village with a working fishing harbour. It has pubs, cafes, restaurants and shops in its narrow streets. My husband and I have a small gallery in St George’s Sq. where he sells his paintings. We have an excellent greengrocer, bakery and general stores with Post Office so most food items can be bought in the village. There is is a small beach in the harbour, a large one over the hill down the cliff steps (Polstreath) and nearby at Pentewan and Gorran. Lost Gardens of Heligan is about 2 miles away and The Eden Project is about 10 miles. The leisure centre with a gym is on the edge of the village A bus runs regularly throughout the day to St Austell and beyond. Weather permitting, a ferry goes to Fowey and back daily.
  • We spent a long weekend in this stylish immaculately spotless house, with a warm welcome from Julia and David and everything provided for a comfortable stay especially the bed and pillows! Very short walk to cafe’s, pubs and restaurants, car parking was the “icing on the cake” or should we say the jam on the lovely cream tea provided on arrival?

    Robert2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Julia’s air bnb is beautiful, we had such a warm welcome upon our arrival. There were many thoughtful touches like Cornish scones in the air bnb ready for us, Julia also left me a birthday card as I had mentioned it was during our stay. Really great that parking is included, so no worries about where to leave the car during our stay!

    Bea2019-09-14T00:00:00Z

  • Lovely stay right in the center of Mevagissey harbor. The room was cozy, clean and warm, so was the bathroom. If you like big and comfortable beds with lots of pillows and blankets you’ll definitely love Myrtle cottage ;) Debbie was very welcoming and helpful, she recommended us good places to eat, useful guidelines to park and to find the cottage. We definitely recommend this place to enjoy the lovely Mevagissey.

  • The cottage is in a very cute courtyard. The bed is large and comfortabele. The showerroom is small, but beautifull and everything was absolutely spotless.
