A cosy orchard cottage circa 1890 with a rustic vibe, surrounded by the Adelaide Hills' finest wineries. Sitting high on 16 acres with an old apple orchard, it is one of the original homes of the area and enjoys stunning views of hills and the little village of Lenswood. Relax in the gorgeous outdoor clawfoot bath looking out to the hills. Enjoy a glass of red by the fire or cook up a storm in the vintage wood-fired Aga.
Follow us on Instagram: @ode_totheorchard Ode to the Orchard is completely private up on the hill, with only distant neighbours in sight. Two cosy bedrooms with queen beds, bathroom with shower over bath, lounge with wood fire (wood and firelighters provided), 2 leather lounges and armchair, full kitchen with new stove and coffee machine (pods provided) and wood-fired Aga oven. The separate dining room has seating for 6. The laundry room has washer and dryer (washing powder provided), iron and ironing board. The orchard is a short walk from the house and all yours to explore. You will drive past it on your way in. There are front and back porches to enjoy sunrise and sunset over the gorgeous Adelaide Hills area. We have a lovely outside claw-foot bath (under cover) looking out to the view where you can enjoy the blue sky by day or the stars at night - magical! Cooking in the vintage wood-fired Aga is a beautiful and unique country experience and we highly recommend - it keeps the house extra toasty! We have a recipe for apple crumble waiting for you (Aga instructions provided in the Welcome book). The house is very cosy in winter - the bedrooms have electric blankets and heaters and the lounge has the wonderful wood fire. In summer the house stays cool, especially with bedroom blinds drawn, but we have pedastool fans for a bit of extra breeze. For those traveling with babies there is room for your portacot to be set up in one of the bedrooms or in the dining room (next to the bedrooms) and we can provide a high chair. Please note there is not a screen in front of the combustion fire so you would need to take care with little ones. The deck can look like a large drop off in the photos but it is only 60cm above the garden at the highest point.
Ode to the Orchard enjoys gorgeous views of Lenswood and the Adelaide Hills, wineries close by include Pike & Joyce, Mt Lofty Ranges Vineyard, Golding Wines, Anderson Hill, Cobb’s Estate, Tilbrook Estate, The Lane Vineyard, CRFT Wines and Bird in Hand. The quaint German town of Hahndorf is 15 minutes away which is great for a wander and some window shopping. Little ones might enjoy Cleland Wildlife Park in Crafers (20 mins) and also the Big Rocking Horse and Toy Factory in Gumeracha. Stanley Bridge Tavern and the Crafers Hotel are wonderful pubs for a meal. Lost in a Forest in Uraidla (10 mins away) has the best pizzas in the hills and a very cool setting in an old church.

  • Ode makes you stop, listen, relax, touch and explore. We had the most beautiful experience staying at Romany's place. It was the perfect weekend getaway! The hand selected pieces were lovely, the bed was so comfortable and the extra treats were thoughtful. We loved the outside bath, it was an experienced made all the more perfect with the misty weather. The wood fire helped create the mood and the views are amazing! Romany was a fabulous host. Her communication was quick and friendly. Such a special place to visit! We even bought a piece of Romany's artwork to bring home.

Our studio apartment is within walking distance to the Black Hill Conservation Park (which has stunning views as in photos), and public transport to the city centre. We live on a quiet no-through street with cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and amenities within a few minutes' drive away. The Studio Apartment is completely detached from our home ensuring your privacy and includes a kitchenette (microwave cooking only) and en-suite.
Enjoy living among beautiful Australian gum trees and bushland conservation parks. We are close to Linear Park (River Torrens) with lovely walking/cycle trails all the way in to the city and beyond to the beach. We are also a 5 minute drive from the Morialta Falls with the many walking trails nearby within the Park. The CBD is only a 20 minute drive or a 30 minute bus ride. There are plenty of eating places and shopping facilities nearby.
Our neighbourhood is surrounded by trees and parks and is in the foothills of Adelaide East. It is generally cooler in the summer than in the CBD and as we are on the edge of the city and on a no-through road, is a very quiet area.
  • Wonderful place so much more than expected and wonderful hosts

  • Great location for a peaceful getaway. A lovely cosy home away from home. The courtyard is so private and beautiful.

  • Julie and Mark's place is so homey! Janaka and I were so lucky to have stayed at their place. The property was sparkling clean and very organised. From breakfast cereals to even filtered water, we were provided everything that we could need. It was close to the city centre and to our travels to Hahndorf. Julie and Mark was also very considerate to understand our situation when we needed to leave a day earlier back to NSW due to the developing COVID19 lockdown laws. Nonetheless, we would definitely be back for another visit when we get to visit Adelaide again. :) Cheers!

    Denise2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed at Julie’s property for 1 month and everything was absolutely perfect. It was super clean. Julie and Mark have been great hosts and so friendly and they were so kind to us and we felt perfect staying at their property. I offer everyone to stay with them. Thanks Julie and Mark.

    Mohammad2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's home is in a lovely quiet suburb, yet close to the city centre and many local shops. We only stayed for one night here during our road trip to South Australia, but it was clean and comfortable. The suite had everything we needed for our stay, including breakfast. This was definitely a great place for us to stop and refuel before heading down to the coast. Thanks again Julie!

  • Our stay with Angelo & Barb was the best we have had on Air Bnb hands down. The studio in itself is beautiful with a lot of attention to detail & a lot of personality. A beautiful neighborhood, a charming bush garden, convenience and comfort like we have rarely experienced in the past; yet the highlight of our stay were our two super hosts Ange and Barb. They are two deeply generous and kind people who took us in during the covid crisis, we were profoundly touched by their constant reassurement, their multiple gestures of solidarity and kindness that always made us feel welcome and at home. That this took place during a period of crisis where we stranded thousand of km from our home speaks volumes about these two people. Always a smile and a kind word all the while keeping the necessary distance and maintaining the necessary precautions to respect social distancing. We honestly never would have expected such humanity and such selfless compassion given the severity of the context, a true blessing and an experience we will not forget.

    Hugo2020-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Second stay here at this lovely home, and not my last. My hosts again were so kind and thoughtful. Aldgate is a lovely walk from the bnb. The garden is a peaceful place just to be. Highly recommended this getaway

  • We had a quick stay as we had a wedding to attend at a local winery. It was close to Stirling and easy to get to. The room was comfortable, clean and felt like home. Blockout blinds made sure we had a goodnight sleep. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the galahs gather outside our window to eat their breakfast. It was a beautiful and peaceful garden to look out on. Thank you!

    Emma2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem! It's great value for money, and is a little slice of heaven in Aldgate

  • Excellent 5 star Air BnB. The atmosphere of this place was so warm and welcoming. Lovely little touches all over the place. Comfortable bed & pillows, ample storage and breakfast items and access to Netflix. Outdoors the garden was very beautiful and gave us a superb view to wake up to. Overall could not fault. A great place to stay.

  • We had an amazing time over the long weekend. The space was cosy and private in beautiful surrounds. There were so many hospitable touches that were unexpected like the bottle of wine and croissants with different local cheeses. Kym and Deane were so hospitable but at the same time respect your privacy and allow you to enjoy the space on your own. It was an incredibly relaxing weekend and we would highly recommend this as a getaway.

    Angela2020-03-09T00:00:00Z

The B&B itself is delightfully cozy and private, and perfectly appointed with everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. If you are looking for a base to explore the Adelaide Hills region, or are in need of a little getaway to recharge and reconnect with nature (especially if you have an affinity for miniature schnauzers), Wyndbourne Park is the place for you!

The very generous, high quality wine, cheese and breakfast provisions were particularly thoughtful touches. Close to the CBD/airport (but far enough away to feel like a proper break) and a short drive to the Barossa for some winery visits. A small comfortable space, surrounded by towering Gum trees, next to a large nature reserve. The unit has a bathroom, bedroom, and kitchen equipped with the essentials. Attached to the main house but with its own secure entrances and its own patio areas. You can come and go as you please. Perfect for a couple or the single traveler.
We are the last of the suburbs before you enter the Adelaide hills and yet we are still close to the city (Adelaide city is 17 km away, a 30 minute drive or a bus ride of 35 minutes). The unit consists of: * Bedroom with queen sized bed, TV, linen and towels, reverse cycle air conditioning. * Kitchenette with: Hotplates (portable type), fridge, Convection/microwave oven, toaster, kettle, coffee appliances, pots/pans, utensils, crockery, coffee/tea. A small dining table and chairs. * Ensuite sized bathroom with sink, toilet, shower, soap, shampoo and conditioner, hairdryer. The unit is attached to the main house with its own front and rear entrances, all with security screens and locks. The bedroom has a large glass sliding door for garden views and cooling afternoon valley breezes, and air conditioning for those hot days. You will have access to your own rear patio and the front garden, there is also a small front patio area that is screened off from the rest of the garden. A 320 hectare nature park is right next door with ruins to explore and many hiking and riding trails ranging from easy to tough.
We are the last of the suburbs before you hit the Adelaide hills and yet we are still close to the city (Adelaide city is a 30 minute drive, 1 hour bicycle ride, or a bus ride of 35 minutes). The Tea Tree Plaza shopping center is within a 15 minute bus ride. Mostly though, you want to be here for the trees and nature. This is a very green suburb with lots of natural parklands very close by. We regularly see Kangaroos, Koalas, many bird species and lots of other fauna and flora. You can chill out on the balcony and enjoy the cooling valley breezes and bird song from many local varieties (the Kookaburras love to call to us from the trees). Or you could go for a walk through the park, the old nursery ruins are a pleasant 20 minute walk away on a well maintained trail. If you feel like a challenge there are some quite difficult trails to be found also.

  • After a friendly greeting by Stuart we had a very pleasant stay and being opposite the Ansteys Hill walk is always a plus. We felt quite at home and the atmosphere was of being with nature. The bed was comfy and most of the basics were covered.

  • Absolute find. This is a beautiful property. Kim & Jed have thought of every detail. Perfect place to get away & relax with a wine. Don’t bother bringing any from another cellar door - their own wine is outstanding.

Our stunning open apartment/studio has been described as a treehouse or "outside inside house". It is made of recycled Australian hardwood, extensive wall to ceiling windows, and all modern furniture and utilities and beautiful garden.
This studio/apartment is a 'slice of heaven' and one half of a split level house with its' own separate entrance and patio. It is a Glenn Murcutt inspired wool shed jarrah pole framed house perched over Cox's Creek. It is made from hardwood, glass and corrugated iron. It has been described as an outside inside house as you are never sure where the house begins. It is at one with nature. It has its own entrance with beautiful elevated views of surrounding gardens, creek and lily pond. It is an 'escape for all seasons' in the very heart of Stirling. The creek that flows underneath can be heard gurgling below for 8-10 months of the year along with the frogs
Stirling is a beautiful leafy village close to Adelaide. It was originally the "Hills" retreat for the early English aristocracy and is one of the few places in the world where you are in a pristine micro- climate surrounded by nature (no fences) and only 20 minutes to the centre of the city. The village of Stirling has a wide cuisine range of well priced restaurants sourcing produce from nearby farms. You can also have the joy of supping on organic coffee or chilli hot chocolates at one of the many cafes that infuse the village. It is a visitors joy and one of Adelaide's best kept secrets that has been let out of the bag. Many people from' The Plains'come up to Stirling to enjoy The Organic Market, buy fresh produce and shop in some unique homeware/clothing and furniture shops or visit many of the splendid wineries. Every month Stirling houses an award winning local market. It has around 80 stalls, which make, bake, grow or value add to the products sold. If you enjoy being outside, the Adelaide Hills abounds with some of the best bike riding paths, walking trails and artists inspired landscapes . Hans Heysen's home "The Cedars" is a 10 minute drive. The Mount Lofty Botanical Gardens only a hop, skip and jump away. The Hills houses many boutique shopping and gallery experiences. We are within walking distance of the Coventry Library, Stirling pub, restaurants and shops.
  • This is a place that you truely need to see and stay, words cannot describe or photos this is a serene tranquil amazingly beautiful home away from home. Do yourself a favour and book this lovely fully decked out homette. Stirling has so much to offer cafes, eatery’s, walks and birds/wildlife. You won’t regret it! Thankyou Andrienne and Alister it’s a credit to you both, we hope to be back soon 👍🌺 The Spears Sisters

  • My wife and I spent 3 nights here straight after our wedding and it was PERFECT. You cannot see any kind of civilisation from any window so you feel like you are nestled in amongst a private forest paradise. Each night we fell asleep to the sounds of frogs croaking in the pond down below and each morning we woke up to an incredible view. We are 100% coming back here!

    Stephen2020-03-03T00:00:00Z

Very spacious bathroom, and extra ammenities (coffee machine, water, milk, spreads) were great and the freshly baked bread in the morning topped it off. Will recommend this place to family and friends. Julie was easy to contact and was able to arrange an early check in / key exchange for us. Bed also very comfy and bedroom was a good size and included a walk in robe.

  • 'Get away from it all' little cottage in bushland surrounded by giant gums with the occasional koala and lots of bird life. Quirky furniture which we loved. Very comfortable and everything you need for a pleasant stay. Large decking where you can be at peace with nature. Bed is low and could be a problem if you suffer from arthritis as my wife does but we managed. Kirsten is an excellent host. Highly recommended.

    peter2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Kristen's Treetop Sanctuary lives up to it's name. My partner and I spent a lovely weekend here among nature, able to enjoy it spending time on the deck. The interior design is the rustic look that is so appealing for aesthetics and comfort. We enjoyed watching Netflix from the comfortable couches, and my partner spent many hours reading her book with a cup of tea in the hanging egg chairs. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking to relax while keeping all the great adelaide hills attractions close by. Thanks Kristen!

Need a sweet little tree change amongst nature and wineries? |•The Area•| The Forest Apartment at Bridgewater- nestled between leafy Aldgate and the famous sparkly German town, Hahndorf, is a delight in all seasons: Cooler in summer with an afternoon cool gully breeze that entices you to throw open the windows... Cosy-warm, misty, green and fresh in winter, and bursting with sweetly scented flowers in spring; but the area truly shines in Autumn, with an incredible array of colours and floating leaves. A peaceful retreat, for those who need time away from it all, a rest and recharge, tranquility and a connection to nature, or a reconnection with a loved one. Or for those exhausted by life needing time away, take a long, deep sleep, or a day spent among the soft pillows and cushions with a good book or free unlimited Netflix. Light the little vanilla-scented candles, have a nice hot shower, make a cup of tea (or wine, or port from the intricate port sippers provided)..and rest. For the explorers, so much awaits to be discovered, whether it be a pop out for meal, or a day-trip adventure- scroll down to the bottom for ideas, and a whole folder more await you upon arrival to help plan your adventures. Want to visit wineries but not drive? I might be able to drive you around and know lots of magical places- message me with what you were thinking- great for a surprise or special occasion too. If you are new to air bnb, and sign up by clicking this link, it seems you will get $55 off your first trip if it’s not with us. www.airbnb.com.au/c/kharman5 |•Your Accommodation•| Your apartment- airy, modern and sparkly-clean, consists of a double bed with silky soft sheets and snuggly cushions and pillows; Tv with DVD player (and a selection of DVDS) and all-you-can-eat free Netflix for a quiet night in; and ensuite bathroom. The large picture windows let in plenty of natural light and the space is welcoming and relaxing. At night, the sparkling touch lamps, tea light candles and fairylights provide a warm, soft atmosphere. Cold night? New split system, plenty of soft, snuggly blankets provided, and of course, tea. More types than you could poke a teaspoon at- the way it should be. The apartment is on a different level to the main house, separate and not joined by any internal stairs or doors. Every effort is made to ensure your privacy and peace throughout your stay. We leave it to our guests to initiate meeting us if desired, but are on hand if you were to wish for anything further. Private and secure with key lock and independent check in, you will have your own separate entry down a set of garden stairs, with your own designated off street car park included. There is also a microwave and small fridge. We have also provided a bbq with cooktop/stovetop gas burner for your exclusive use under shelter outside your room, with crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils provided. You are most welcome to eat in your apartment or take the little dining setting or picnic blanket outside for a garden picnic. A small selection of books, DVDS and games are available to borrow- just ask. We can organize self-cook BBQ breakfast ingredients or a wine and cheese platter for you with a little notice- please asks about our packages. A little minibar is in your room in case of lazy days where you would prefer to relax and have a bottle of wine or snack handy. -An extra special treat if you are staying at the apartment in spring- a small heart shaped meadow for picnics, with 50 daffodils and 600 freesias to sit amongst- you would be welcome to borrow our extra large picnic blanket and picnic set upon request -Although unsuitable for children (one adult and one child sharing the bed has been done often), we have had pairs of friends, singles and mother-daughter pairs stay. |•The Property•| Set on a quarter of an acre in a safe, hillsy and friendly neighborhood, most of the way down a quiet no-through road, Koalaville is perfect if a peaceful and relaxing getaway is what you are after- or a fun filled adventure of food, wine and cheese, as the best wineries are so close by, as is Hahndorf. Great for those who love to get in touch with nature and want to reconnect with each other. The best thing of all are our cute-as-a-button koalas, masquerading as fluffy toys, but making grunting sounds like bears, they sit adorably eating leaves- we recently had a mother, father and baby family living in the gum tree right outside your apartment window- at the moment there is one big one. There are possums-a plenty- Pete, Percy, Pixie and baby Pinkie use the trees as a possum playground, a delight to watch, and ever present. If you hear a little furry thump, it's just them having their night time adventures. Feel free to feed them, they love bread and fruit and are friendly. Fall asleep to frog chorus from the winter creek and pond, and wake peacefully to warbling magpies and singing galahs and sulphur crested cockatoos, the laughing kookaburra sounds echoing across the valley, and the satisfied soft clucking of our hens once they have laid an egg. Watch the pretty parrots and rosellas in the trees while enjoying a cup of tea- we ensure the bird feeder outside your window is topped up to entice the stunning array of birds- stay very still and enjoy a spectacular show. |•The Location•| An easy drive to the city (under half an hour), or take the 'pretty way' as we choose to go; up Greenhill Road or Magill Road, and meander down through the lush Adelaide hills for a gorgeous scenic drive- perhaps stopping along the way to pick up some fresh raspberries, 'lemonade', flowers or produce from children's stalls along the side of the roads. Ensure you drive down our favourite road, Aldgate Valley Road- we loved this road so much, that we approached several property owners to see if they would allow us to hold our wedding ceremony in their garden- we were incredibly lucky to be able to be married at a private property at 10 Aldgate Valley Road- our idea of heaven. Adelaide has gorgeous beaches- Glenelg is less than 40 minutes away, or drive down through the hills to the coast to Goolwa and along the coast through to Victor Harbor and jump on the horse drawn tram (and feed the friendly Clydesdales- they love carrots). For an incredible daytrip, head to Carrickalinga/ Normanville via Meadows- stunning, quiet beaches with dolphins around sunset. °*|•Special Occasion?•|*° Is your stay for a special occasion? Ask about making it extra special for you and surprising your loved one, or making your wedding night magical :) As of February 2018, we have created three different ‘Magic Packages’: -Arrival Surprise Treat -Twilight Magic ‘Secret Fairy’ and -Enchanted night in Or mix and match your own choices. We hope to have a proposal here someday- if you are considering this, let us help make it the most memorable and magical moment possible. |• Cost options•| As many of our guests are from Adelaide or road tripping from the eastern states, we can offer your stay for $30 off if you would like to bring your own towels and linen, if the room hasn’t already been made up. Go ahead and book, let us know at the time of booking, and we will return $30 to you. Want to stay awhile? We’d love to have you, and will give you 20% off when staying a week or longer, and 25% off if staying a month- maybe more for longer stays, give us a message for a chat. ☺️ |• Pets? •| As you can tell, we LOVE animals. One of us significantly more than the other, so I'm hoping my husband won't wade as deeply into my slabs of text as you have, and discover this update *grin*. Although we never allow pets into the apartment to keep the space clean and fresh, we do in our own home: Our cocker spaniel sleeps with her head on my pillow and snores in my ear. So if you have a pet and you can't find anywhere and you want to travel with her instead of putting her in a boarding kennel and she is a cocker spaniel, cavalier, springer, ferret, rabbit, sausage dog, kitten or similar, please let me know and I'll attempt some arm twisting for you. She might be able to sleep up in our bed in the main house too while you are on holiday. |•News•| Ask about our new packages for special occasions - would love to spoil you. -April- a gorgeous Sulphur Crested Cockatoo, who we have affectionately named ‘Bert the Bird’ has been visiting us lately twice a day, and is becoming more and more tame. We are talking to him lots and hoping he will start to talk back soon. The other day he brought along his gorgeous little baby, Bertie. She is very sooky, whines while she eats, and is quite uncoordinated, particularly with her balance and her landings. She is an absolute delight to watch from your window. - March- we have a new powerful split system installed for snuggly winters! - We now have Netflix setup and logged in for you, with chromecast, so that you can lie back, snuggle up and watch all your favourite on the room tv for a lovely weekend in. - We have now had a couple with a baby as well as a mother with a 9 year old boy stay successfully and enjoy their time here. Whilst there is only the one double bed, if you’d like to bring your little one with you, let us know in your message and we can see whether Koalaville might be able to work for you too :) Three baby magpies and two big magpies, just outside the apartment- the babies still have fluffy little bellies, aw. The warbling is amazing. Last night on our drive home, we went down Sturt Valley Road- so beautiful, and deserves a mention for a little drive. We have super fast NBN connected! No more slow internet- hooray! January : Mollie the Koala has had a tiny gorgeous baby- for a short video of she and her baby taken from the garden, the baby tugging at her furry ears, please send your number with spaces between each letter or in words, oh four oh etc, so it doesn't get blocked, and I'll send it to you- it's the cutest thing! Bird photos and descriptions can also be seen by clicking on the photos and scrolling through- the myriad of birds that come to feed at the bird feeder outside the room is delightful- including a few pink-and-grey galahs who, if you sit very still, will cheekily watch you with tilted head. January: Pixie the Possum had a gorgeous little baby, who clings onto her mother via four pawfuls of fur- so beautiful! A hair raising piggy back ride through the trees, and a joy to watch through the windows- we captured a photo of them and included it in the property photos for you to see. |•To do~Activities in the area•| A folder of ideas for exploring the area awaits you in your apartment- fun activities for the area include: -Pick your own strawberries at Beerenberg Farm and taste the incredible chutneys, jams and spreads on offer- they are just past Hahndorf and entry is only $4 including eating as many strawberries as you can manage! - Walk and explore- there are plenty of walking trails in Bridgewater and in and around the nearby tourist town of Hahndorf. Even walking through the roads of Aldgate is the most relaxing and beautiful experience. - Stirling, Aldgate and Crafers villages nearby have great cafes, shops and pubs. We highly recommend and love the Stirling Hotel- great atmosphere including live acoustic music often. - Bike riding- Adelaide hills is great for this, as it is part of the Tour Downunder circuit- we also have the beautiful Amy Gillett Bikeway, running along Woodside and Oakbank, past some lovely wineries and the Melba's Chocolate factory- bikes available on request- notice needed for this to ensure they are in perfect working order for you. -Visit the monthly Stirling Laneways markets Sundays in Stirling- "The award-winning Stirling Laneways is more than a market. • Kylie’s place is even more magical on the spot experience even the photos are already magical. It’s clean, tidy, very calm and peace atmosphere. I love waking up and sleeping with the nature view and the sound of the birds chirping, I love the fairy tale light like environment.

    Clarissa2020-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • The little Koalaville is very cute with thoughtful touches. Lovely view looking out to the back garden from the big windows. In the morning, there are lots of bird friends visiting and it's truly magical. It is just what I needed – a weekend to be in nature and away from all the hustle and bustle. Kylie was very hospitable and even offered me some homemade bread and dukkha for the second night stay. She was very responsive and prompt in her response. I felt so welcome and it was so relaxing.

    Cindy2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely perfect, we loved our stay here so much. Kylie was an amazing host, her attention to detail and her friendly happy spirit made for one of our most favorite stays of all time. Please indulge in the packages Kylie offers. We had both the evening platters and also the breakfast package and we were not disappointed. So much love and hard work was put into making our stay a magical experience, we will definitely come back here again. You won't regret it. The bed was comfy, the view was perfection and the cleaning standards were immaculate. We love KOALAVILLE!!!

  • Our stay at Koalaville was wonderful. Kylie put so much thought and love into her little sanctuary in Bridgewater. Upon entry there was a personalised welcome sign and lovely note on the mirror as well as some fairy mood lighting and music. Kylie has thought of everything and provided little extras in case of emergency. Little notes around the room for information/instructions was a special touch. The room was so romantic and cosy and styled well. We loved all the blankets and (especially the heated blanket) to stay toasty and warm. Bathroom was clean and tidy and shower pressure and heat were perfect. The view was beautiful and we had many bird visitors to watch come and go. Hoping to see some koalas but they must have been elsewhere when we stayed. You can really tell that Kylie prides herself on giving her guests that extra special experience. Highly recommend and we would love to visit again. Thanks Kylie :-)

The forest retreat is an oasis of romance, rest and a retreat away from all the busyness of life. Come for a weekend of luxury, pampering and treats! Everyone is welcome to stay :)
We are relaxed and love sharing our cottage with like-minded people. Our cottage is a retreat for you to relax in. Upon arriving at the cottage, you will have direct parking outside . There is a outdoor area to chill on whilst trying to spot the residential koalas. On the other side of the cottage, there is a private outdoor area overlooking gardens and a small pond. The cottage is a small studio style open planned room space , which is intimate and very cosy for a weekend away. Please note the bathroom is open planned with no door which creates a very spacious feel. There is a tiny kitchenette included in the room too. The interior design is beautiful and the cottage is filled with little treats for you to enjoy during your stay ! To the side of the retreat, there is the main property overlooking a little forest, which you are welcome to explore too. The property is next too a very peaceful bush setting which trekkers will thoroughly enjoy whilst adventuring through the famous Heysen trail.
Out the back gate of the main property and across the road, you can discover the Heysen Trail. The beginning of the trek starts with local artists creating an enchanted fairy trail. Trekking further, you will discover the trail will lead to Mount George. After your outdoor adventuring you will find The Cottage is well insulated so you will stay cool in summer and cosy warm in winter! When relaxing with a local craft beer or some award winning local champagne, you will find the design of the Cottage, beautiful with modern finishings. The cottage is a gorgeous place to stay inside or if you are looking to explore, we are central to main attractions. If you are keen bike riders, there are bikes available to explore the local Bridgewater Brewery, Mill and restaurants. Or if you are wanting a quick bus ride to WOMAD, Clipsal, the Fringe, or the Adelaide Festival – the bus is just around the corner! The bus takes you straight down the hill into the heart of the City. As you head into the City, you will pass Aldgate and Stirling. These towns are a must see for any visitor, when visiting the Adelaide Hills! We are only a few minutes to the artistic markets in Stirling which are held every month. Aldgate and Stirling are unique for the boutique designer home wares and clothing stores. If you are after organic, delectable and award winning coffee, restaurants and cafes, these two towns have a ‘must see’ list of venues to visit! To finish your stay off in the most perfect way, the famous German town Hahndorf is 5 minutes away, where you can collect local produce from Berenberg Farm, visit the local galleries, horse ride at the animal farm barn or sample a local German meal and pint. Watch time stand still as you see the ever changing seasons in the Hills, beautiful as the blossoms appear in spring, to a nice glass of red on an autumn day. A must stay for any local or visitor to Adelaide!

The place was very clean, cozy and Rita went far out of her way to make sure that me and my partner enjoyed our stay to the fullest. Rita also left some snacks, bread, fruit and wine for us. Ashton Retreat is the perfect Adelaide Hills getaway, and only 20 minutes from the centre of Adelaide. The Retreat is located on a 15 acre property with wonderful privacy and seclusion. We are centrally located for people who want to visit the wine regions of Clare, the Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills, Langhorne Creek and McLaren Vale. The Retreat is fully self-contained except for laundry facilities.
Our property includes many deciduous trees and shrubs and is a haven for fauna and flora, including seasonal visits from Kangaroos and Koalas. Enjoy a glass of wine and watch the microbats feed in the twilight
Ashton is a pretty semi rural location with houses spread out through orchards and vineyards. There are no shops in Ashton, but there is a small supermarket in Uraidla, a return trip of 10 minutes. Otherwise, the nearest shops are at Magill in the city or Stirling in the Hills (each 20 mins away)
  • A wonderful retreat with all the special touches on arrival. Could’ve stayed for months!

    Emma-Kate2019-12-08T00:00:00Z

Its springtime in the Adelaide Hills and time to smell the roses or have a romantic weekend away. An idyllic quiet light filled space, and property of 3 1/4 acres for you to wander through. Enjoy the peace and serenity. Within 5-10-15 minutes - historic Hahndorf, and many lovely Adelaide Hills Wineries, Melba's Chocolate factory, breweries and cheese making. Surrounded by neighbouring apple farms, and beautiful scenery. Take your wine and sit under the walnut tree. Enjoy the peace.
Only rain water on the property, so would appreciate water conservation. If required may be able to drop off and pick up from races and nearby wineries. I will have one bedroom locked off with some of my personal gear, but you may use all the rest of the goods. This is my home and I hope you will respect it. You can use anything that you may be missing if it is in the pantry for cooking requirements. I will leave instructions if the power goes off because there is a requirement to turn back on the hotwater system in the bathroom. Please read these if required. If it is extremely hot I will need to come back to water gardens which is on a bore system. There is a second toilet in the outside laundry. I would prefer for you to take off your shoes when coming in particularly in the winter and if you go for a walk inside the chicken coop. Otherwise enjoy like so many of my friends have. If extremely hot I will need to come back to water the gardens depending on the length of stay.
Visiting the historic town of Hahndorf is a good outing and I especially love the Mt Lofty Winery (5 minutes away) and Pike and Joyce - both have amazing outlooks and lovely wine. Locally Cob Hill Winery is also in a lovely setting and does lunches as well. The Uraidla pub has also won awards and is quite good as well. Stanley Bridge and Balhannah Hotels have great food. The bakery near the post office in Balhannah is great. There are a number of hotels within the 10 minute timeframe. Playgrounds at Balhannah. Mt Lofty botanical gardens is worth the trip as well as the Mt Lofty summit to look out all over Adelaide.
  • Jill has a beautiful house that the photos quite frankly do not do justice to and it’s sitting in a gorgeous garden that you can look out at from inside or roam around in. I found it to be such a nice place that I chose to propose to my fiancé in her garden on the weekend. Jill went above and beyond anything I could have expected to help me with my plans and made the experience extremely special I can not recommend enough you stay at Jill’s house. Jill, thank you again.

    Ben2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastic - clean, stylish and comes with everything you need. Thanks Jill for the hospitality. She replied to the messages promptly and showed us around the property to ensure we are familiar with it. Make sure to get the local tips from her.

    Fred2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great house and great host. Jill goes above and beyond. Even called to warn us about a traffic issue so we wouldn’t miss our flight.

    David2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jill's home us wonderful! Its a perfect place to unwind and enjoy the rolling hills of Lenswood. The house had absolutely everything needed to relax and enjoy. Jill was very accommodating by leaving us fresh fruit, eggs and cheese. Our children were allowed to feed the chickens and pick up the eggs every morning while we were there. I highly rate this house as one of the most beautiful and peaceful place we have stayed in South Australia. Thanks Jill

  • Jill’s place is natural wonderland. Large bedrooms, living space, kitchen and bathroom are absolutely amazing. Everything is spotless and home is full with fragrance of natural stuff always. The garden with every kind of fruits and trees , gives you the relaxation that you can’t find anywhere else . Kids really enjoyed feeding chickens and collecting eggs . The land is surrounded by so many orchards , and breathtaking hills and all green . Our host Jill was very kind , we had a hard trip due to natural disaster. Had to change my booking many times . Jill supported us every way she could . This is the best place I ever stayed . If anyone wants to experience a luxury holiday and living closer to the nature, also if you could respect what you get in here , I recommend this is the best place . ( The place is far better than its on pictures . )

The house is nestled inside "Adelaide's Secret Valley" 11km from the CBD, with off-street parking on the property, which the owner shares with her Adopted Grey Hound. One of the earliest houses in the Adelaide area, it is situated inside the Linear Park, over-looking the River Torrens, with the jogging/bike track nearby.
It is a heritage-listed property, and was the original farmhouse built soon after settlement of the state. While gentle conservation work is being carried out on the fabric of the house, it has all the necessary conveniences for a comfortable stay. However, if you are into "glitz" it may not be the place for you.
  • Great historic house, our little staffy loved playing with Jacqui’s dog, what a beautiful dog Coffee was, will stay again

    Glen & Jilly2018-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful historic house owned by Jacqui, who was happy to show us around the place and detail its history.

    Daniel2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome old property currently being renovated using traditional methods. Very interesting, quiet and relaxing place with immediate access to the river Torrens. Close to large shopping center / cinema etc if needed.

    Paula2018-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • I strongly recommend this establishment for anyone who loves history and enjoys staying in a house with fantastic character. Parts of this establishment are nearly as old as Adelaide it'self, and I've only experienced such atmosphere in old Europe. Jacqui is personally and meticulously restoring this beautiful house, and it is a long term project. Our room was clean and the beds ( with electric repositioning ) were new and comfortable. We felt very welcome. Athelstone House is a place to soak up "Old world atmosphere" and forget modern gadgetry.

  • Quite simply could not recommend this place more. Brian was a fantastic host - very good communication and very happy to accomodate any requests. We were able to check in early and Brian said that we did not need to worry about rushing off by 10am, which was well received. The provisions provided were fantastic - yummy cereals, fresh bread, all sorts of tea and coffee and even a bottle of wine! The space itself is beautiful and we could have happily stayed there for a week. It is he perfect spot to explore the Adelaide Hills and we were within a 15min drove of some of the best wineries. Thank you again and we hope to be back again some day.

    Richard2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Brian’s place was absolutely delightful! My husband and I stayed for our Wedding weekend and Brian had included lots of thoughtful touches such as a bottle of (very nice) red wine (we were even asked our wine preferences) and lovely chocolates. The gardens, which we had access to, were absolutely beautiful and in the morning you can watch the sunrise from the private balcony. Utter perfection!

    Jane2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great weekend at Brian's place! Highly recommended!

    Emmanuelle2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We chose this Airbnb as it was outside of the city - car essential. It’s peaceful, tranquil, beautifully furnished and immaculately clean. The little touches like fresh flowers and things to make breakfast made all the difference. Efficient air conditioning and heating. Crisp bed linen and fluffy towels. 20 mins into Adelaide, 30 mins from airport. Supermarket, pharmacy and places to eat within a few mins drive. A very warm welcome from Brian and Deb.

    Tracy2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Simply beautiful location and living space. Host Brian is a lovely fella who had some great suggestions on where to eat and they didn't disappoint. Deb has styled the living area beautifully. The extra touches were brilliant and much appreciated.

  • An absolute gem in the Adelaide Hills - Brian and Deb have turned this historic homestead into a idyllic couples retreat. Recently renovated with many thoughtful touches, my partner and I could not have chosen better. Set on a large estate they welcome you to explore, Brockhurst is a perfect base for taking in the surrounding region, or even retreating to after spending time in the city. Breakfast on the terrace was bliss. Can definitely recommend.

  • Michelle is a lovely person & a great host. The cottage, was clean and well presented. The fridge & pantry were stocked with more then just the essentials, including fresh eggs from their own chooks, fresh bread, condiments & bacon to cook a delicious breakfast. Michelle’s property is an an excellent location, being just a 10minute walk from both Stirling & Crafers. This place is value for money & we will be back to stay in the future.

  • This is a great Airbnb. Beautifully presented, yet cosy and comfortable. The kitchen is very well appointed and the breakfast provisions were generous. Michelle's communication was swift and efficient. Lovely welcome so you were left with no doubt you could call for anything while at the same time there was complete privacy. Hydeaway House is well located, tucked out of the way and yet close to everything. Much appreciated was the suggestion to head to Crafers Hotel for dinner. An easy five minute wander from Hydeway House and we were there. Amazing food! Michelle's experience as a host shines through and I have no doubt she'll be listed as a Superhost by the next time I'm looking to book a stay!

    Kaye2020-02-05T00:00:00Z

The Retreat is your cosy, tasteful gateway to the CBD of Adelaide, under 10km's, with the Adelaide Hills playground at your fingertips. We have added 3 vacant days between guests stays, and disinfection of frequently touched surfaces after our thorough cleaning. Set on two acres, enjoy your privacy of the Retreat, with kitchenette, wifi, TV, DVD, and quirky steps leading up to the bathroom. Your own decking hosts a BBQ and outdoor setting leading to the quaint stone bedroom.
This cute Gatehouse, recently renovated, provides you with everything needed for a weekend, or weeks away! The decking provides outdoor table and chairs with a BBQ, and leads you to the open plan lounge, dining, bathroom, and kitchenette on the south end, and the quaint stone double bedroom on the north end, all seamlessly flowing together. The delightful property is positioned on the seasonal Third Creek which flows on average from late June to November. Projects to develop indigenous bio-diversity along the waterway and the hill slopes forming part of the Mt. Lofty Ranges is underway, encouraging seasonal birds, frogs, and the local Koalas. Split air conditioning for heating and cooling is at your fingertips, unlimited Wifi, flatscreen TV, and brochures on local highlights, including books from a collection of fiction, biographies and travel guides are here for your enjoyment. The kitchenette houses a kettle, toaster, fridge/freezer, warming oven, microwave, electric fry pan, and the standard implements. Due to COVID-19 precautions, we have removed pantry essentials, food and drinks. For your convenience there is an iron and ironing board and a clothes horse. Our house manager prepares the house specifically for each individual stay with fresh towels for each guest and fresh sheets on the beds ensuring the highest level of cleanliness prior to your arrival. Unfortunately in some instances we have had to replace stained linen and towels (oil, coffee, red wine...) which Guests responsible will be billed for at current market price. South Australia has a wonderful mediterranean climate, renowned internationally for wine and food. May we remind you, for your comfort, to pack for all weather conditions!
The Gatehouse is nestled amongst the famed Adelaide Foothills on a main road which leads directly to the Adelaide CBD under 10km's away. Fifteen minutes further west by car will take you to the coastal towns of Henley Beach, Glenelg and Brighton, just to name a few. From the Gatehouse heading east up the hill into the Mt. Lofty Ranges offers spectacular views over the city, many wineries, charming pubs and townships waiting to be explored. This villa truly is a scenic residence at the centre of it all.
  • Sandy,s space was just like advertised if not better. The location is perfect with the hills and their natural beauty on your doorstep. The property was clean, comfortable with my own private space accomidating for all my needs. I would not hesitate recommending it to anyone.

    Dan2020-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • The Foothills Retreat is an amazing place to stay. We loved the thoughtful and practical touches such as the bottle of milk and bottle of juice in the fridge, and the different towels in the bathroom. One surprising note was how sparkling tidy the place was! There is clearly a lot of love and care put into maintaining both the tiny house and the surrounding grounds. Thanks for giving us a lovely place to stay in Adelaide.
