This is the best Airbnb that I’ve been too. I had a great time at Altesa’s home and I would gladly use it again if the opportunity presented itself.

This listing is definitely on my top 5 of my Airbnb stays. The room is spacious and the house is very clean and has all the amenities one needs. The hosts were nothing but pleasant and I can't thank them enough.

Kelechi is a perfect Host. We had our first airbnb experience here and it was fantastic. Quick Responses on anything asked. The place was clean and was near to many parks , gym, grocery ..etc. we had all we wanted and due to the hosts best nature we felt even more good. I highly recommend this place.

It is a great place to stay in South Orange. The room is comfortable and really clean.

Lovely, spotlessly clean place, great location. Edrice was very welcoming (Kadeem was away) and everything was smooth. I loved the set-up of the bedroom. It had everything-plenty of space to hang and put away clothes, a rack for towels, even a place to sit at the foot of the bed to get dressed in front of a mirror. Everything was thoughtfully laid out. Great value!

It was a very pleasant experience and memorable! I used to stay in a hotel before, this is the first time I try this way. There were all kinds of worries before checking in, and the results surprised me! This house is in a quiet location, convenient parking, password access, the owner gives enough personal space, both a home and privacy. Especially the public areas are clean and welcoming. The kitchen has a lot of kitchenware and food. The delicious coffee makes me have a lot of aftertaste. Special thanks to the host mother, the kind old man who treated us like our own family! Great location, exceptional host, and larger than expected space. Lorna promptly replied to all my inquiries and kindly left me water, snacks, and fresh fruit. For the price, it’s not the ritz but it was clean and perfect for me. I would stay again.

Lorna is a very considerate host! I really appreciated that she stocked the mini fridge with milk, fresh fruit, and water and left granola for breakfast as well. And though I arrived when she was not there, she went out of her way to make sure I parked in her driveway to avoid getting a ticket. Her place is a great value, and a short drive to the many restaurants and shops in Maplewood Village.

Well furnitures room with enough spaces and TV, small refrigerator. The room has 3 windows where I stayed, and has pretty neighbor view and made me more feel like home and happy! The kitchen was also very well equipped.

This house make you feel like just home. Room has enough space with all nice furnitures and own small refregerator. Like the dressing table with a large mirror! The neighbor is pretty and quite. Especially the supermarket is in very close. only about 3min walk distance.

Well where do I start about my extended stay at Vivienne’s place. I booked the home for two months while on a project. From before arriving, to the check in and right to the last day, it was a true pleasure. Vivienne checked in regularly to see if all was well. She is a true ultimate host! Made me feel like family! As for the apartment, it was super comfortable and so many homey touches added. It was nice to come home to after long work days. A quick Uber ride to the train station for trips to NYC (30 odd minutes) was a bonus when staying on weekends. It’s nice to have an off road parking spot in the city, so that was an added bonus. Yes there are stairs to the apartment, but really it wasn’t difficult to manage with my luggage on my own! Fully recommend Vivienne’s place for any visit to the area. I would gladly stay there again in the future!

Understandably you’re probably a bit confused right now on why Airbnb is giving you a listing in the state of New Jersey when you’ve obviously put New York or Manhattan in the search options. In addition to the fact that this listing is fairly recent, not having even reached a year since posting on Airbnb with a just a few reviews under its belt, I can feel you’re about to close the tab and move on with your search. Being a customer who has stayed at this listing for 11 days, commenting on the multiple aspects to consider before booking this place should be something I can do so with confidence and I’ll try to address mainly the questions I had when I booked the place. First things first, this listing is located in the state of New Jersey and NOT New York. So if you’re adamant on booking a location right in the heart of the Big Apple and pricing isn’t so much an issue (as it was for us since we were a family of 5), then you can probably check this off your list. You can surmise however that by popping up in your options, the township of Irvington is located in relatively closer proximity to Manhattan (at about 30km, it located at the outskirts of New Jersey, with New York to the east) and Airbnb assumes you are capable of driving or commuting to the city while on tour (the 25 or 70 Bus to drop you at Newark Penn Station [$1.6/person] and then the PATH train to World Trade Center Station [$2.75/person]. This can be done in around 45mins to an hour. The bus stop is a 2 minute walk from your address. Google Maps is your friend). It’s closer to Newark International Airport than to JFK Airport, but given the relative competence of the New York Subway, you can easily connect to the latter till the AirTrain (add $2.75 for another connecting subway and $9.75 to the AirTrain to the above computation for a total of $16.85 one-way. Uber/Lyft costs around $100) You’ll be located in a quiet town of primarily working class African American and Hispanic ethnicity. And despite any predilections to apprehension you may have right now on hearing any of this, please put them to rest. Never has an untoward event happened throughout our stay in the area and as far as we were concerned, we never felt harassed or unsafe even while moving at the late hours, even beyond midnight. Having said that, the surrounding restaurants, groceries and laundromats (there are multiple) are primarily built for that customer base but you should have no problem accessing them which average at 5 minute walks. As for the property, expect the home to be as spacious as the pictures indicate. You will have to climb a flight of stairs as you’ll be staying on the second storey of this three storey house, so please take this into consideration if travelling with an elderly or a PWD. The living room immediately exudes a welcoming and familial nature more than anything by its décor and furniture. There are two bedrooms each with its own queen sized bed, a fully functioning kitchen, and a dining room elegantly decorated with glassware that I sometimes found myself on the defensive in case I accidentally tipped something over. Arriving in December, I wish the thermostat would have worked as quickly as they did in the hotels we stayed at prior, but we never found ourselves feeling too hot or cold. Frequently, the smell of a home cooked meal would waft from the lower floors, but that can go either way depending on how you like the smell of your cuisine. There’s a laundry area at the first floor which is free of charge for the first use as well. Wi-Fi is stable and quick, with cable TVs in the hall and both bedrooms to keep you entertained if you’d prefer to Netflix and chill. However, nothing made our stay more welcoming than Vivienne, the host herself. There to greet you as soon as you arrive, she immediately takes it upon herself to answer any question that you may have, giving instructions on how to use the New Jersey Transit Bus system and pointing out important parts of the neighborhood. Heck, have you ever had a host walk with you to the grocery too and offer to carry them for you? She does just that! Not to mention the semi stocked fridge of milk and soda plus the welcome basket which was the perfect touch to the holiday season (again, we arrived 4 days before Christmas). And throughout your stay, she remains in open communication in an almost motherly fashion, checking if any problems had risen and if there was anything she could to about it. To resort to the simplistic use of the idiom “a home away from home” seems lazy, but I can think of no better way of summing up the 11 days we spent at Vivienne’s. The first hand energy of New York’s hustle and bustle was oftentimes overwhelming and to return to the comforts of her accommodations will always be an experience to look back on fondly. Thank you for having us Vivienne. :)

The place was AMAZING. Really felt like I was at home. Vivienne is a great host, she welcomed us and even gave us a tour. Literally had everything in the apartment in case we forgot stuff. The house was spotless and the beds are so comfortable.

Vivian's place is the best. She prepared everything for you. All you need to bring is just your clothes? She has everything else for you. The house is clean but with a bit steep stairs so travel light will be better. Everything else is perfect. Recommended.

Irving is an amazing host and also his son, they are both so nice and welcoming! Also the location was perfect to go to NYC or even to check out new Jersey or Pennsylvania.

Irving and his family are very friendly and provide an excellent ABnb experience to include tourist type advice, menus for local eateries, etc. The private basement is spacious equiped with all needed ammentites. The location is very safe, fenced, and convienant as you can catch bus to NYC (1 transfer) just a short walk right next to house. I highly recommend as the price and overall value is excellent.

A fantastic place in a quite neighborhood. Jennifer was very responsive and made the whole process very simple. Note that the property has radiators so it heats very well but could be hazardous to small children when the heat runs. All in all a fantastic experience a good price!

The apartment was absolutely perfect, it was exactly what we were looking for. I stayed here with my boyfriend and we were able to have a home cooked meal with the kitchen, relax on the couch with some tv and then sleep in the giant comfy bed. The entire apartment temperature can be controlled which was a definite plus! The whole apartment was super clean and very nice! Definitely recommend and will stay there again!

We had a great stay. Jennifer was very patient with me. I neglected to link into the entrance instructions and she patiently walked me through. Be sure to link into the instructions before arrival - they are clear, concise and easy to follow. We found the bed to be ultra confortable and the space ultra clean. Great neighborhood location with beautiful old homes. Jennifer was great with staying in touch before our visit and being available if we needed anything during our stay.

This apartment was cozy and welcoming and located in a safe neighborhood, loved that it was walking distance to Seton Hall. Jennifer was very friendly and offered great suggestions for things to do in South Orange.

The space is as described. The hosts responded to questions quickly and the whole experience was quick and easy. A couple notes about the space.... The location and space were perfect for our needs. It had all the essentials and some good restaurants in walking distance. The bed was very comfortable and everything is well maintained. The fan is louder than I imagined it would be but it didnt bother us because we both like noise while sleeping. So if noise bothers you keep that it mind. The hosts thoughtfully provide ear plugs. The ceilings are a bit low for tall folks. My 6' 2" friend kept banging his head and had to duck in the shower. I highly recommend this space if you are in the area.

I enjoyed staying in Angelica's place. The bed is comfortable, and the wifi is speedy. The location is super convenient to public transportation, only two blocks from buses to New York City and Newark Airport. Tip: If you have a car, you can park in the driveway, and there's just enough room to turn around in the driveway, which makes it easier to pull out onto the street. When I had a weather issue that caused a change in my plans, Angelica was super, with quick responses and flexibility. I look forward to staying here again.

The suite was clean and well organized. The living room is a bit small, but I found it larger than the pictures could portray. There was a small kitchenette we found useful in the corner with microwave, mini-fridge, dishes, and utensils. The living room has a futon that was surprisingly comfortable, both as a couch and bed. I would be hesitant to fit 4 people in here, but 3 (2 in the bedroom, 1 on the futon) fit nicely. Angelica was quick to respond, and provided clear instructions for both check-in and check-out.

Angelica’s place was the perfect stopping point right outside of New York City and nearby Newark Penn Station. (Light sleepers may want to bring earplugs because the traffic can be a bit loud and the bedroom’s in the front. City life!) Angelica brought up an extra blanket when we were cold, even though we asked after hours. Her responsiveness was wonderful! The two doors to each side of the Airbnb were unexpected but not an issue. After making a last minute booking at L.Theresa's as our previous host cancelled our original Air BnB reservation for no reason 3 days before our trip was due to happen, we were delighted to secure this location. The apartment is really spacious, sparkling clean and very modern. The photos really do not do the space justice, there is a lot more room than we expected. Location wise, it is located in a quiet residential area and is easy to access, though there are steps up to the door and then up to the 1st floor apartment and loft area where one of the bedrooms is located, the steps weren't a problem for us but for elderly or infirmed they may be a problem. We had no car as we were visiting from overseas and just took ubers wherever we wanted to go. We really only slept there, as we were out from early morning to late at night and ate out all the time so we didn't explore the local area but could not see any stores or restaurants close by within walking distance, am sure there were some but we were not really looking for them. The extra touches of coffee for the Keurig machine, bottled water in the fridge, toiletries in the bathroom etc. were much appreciated. Towels, bed linen, hairdryer etc. were provided and the space was warm and cosy. We would have no problem recommending L. Theresa's place and would certainly consider staying here again if we were to return to the area as it is located near Newark Airport and Jersey Gardens Shopping Mall. It was also easy to commute to Manhattan using Uber and PATH. L. Theresa was super quick to respond to all our queries which was much appreciated. If you do make a reservation here we don't think you will be disappointed.

I needed this room for a month in order to travel to Madison for work. The room was perfect! The small couch and small desk was perfect to do work on, and the bed/bedding was very comfortable and warm for the cold winter month. Kelechi responds very quickly and I could tell he was invested in making my stay as comfortable as possible. The house does have central heating so if you feel that it is too hot/cold, make sure to let him know since he can adjust to your needs. Everyone is different so it's important that you communicate! There is always parking available right in front of the house, and it is a quiet neighborhood. I didn't use the kitchen at all but from what I saw, it was very clean and there were plenty have cookware that you can use. The fridge was very spacious and clean. In fact, the whole house was very very clean (which is a big thing for me)! The bathroom had cozy rugs, and was always spotless and smelled good. There is a closet where you can hang many clothes. Kelechi and Esther provided a great place for me to stay for a month while I was transition to New Jersey for work. A fantastic deal for the location, price and amenities! So happy to have found a place with a full kitchen, it made it feel much more like home for me. My roommates and I all had respect for one another and didn’t really see each other much due to different schedules, so there was also a fair amount of privacy. Kelechi and Esther were quick to respond with any questions I had and were very friendly! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a longer term Airbnb.

Miss esther and kelechi welcome us,told us about everything,as described, luckily nobody came first ten days so we had all the privacy, hosts never bother us in any way, we r thankful for that, only time you might feel uncomfortable if some else come to stay at next room because of only one bathroom,and usage of kitchen, u have to compromise for that, otherwise overall stay was great, easy to go around, would be great if u have car. Town is nice, gas station,grocery store,liquar store, is one block away, pretty convenient. Bring an extra bedsheets if u stay for long. Thanks .

My parents are very grateful to the owners of this room for their hospitality. The house is located not far from the train station (20 minutes walking or 7 minutes by taxi), from where you can go to Manhattan. Quiet and cozy area, beautiful houses and parks around. I recommend as an not expensive and cozy place.

Great stay! The place is in a nice neighborhood, close enough to Barnabas for Medical students, and not a bad drive to the city. The room is nice, and there is never any issue with parking. I'd love to stay here again when I'm back in NJ!

Vivine was an incredibly thoughtful and attentive host. Her space was spotless and large enough to comfortably accommodate me and my four friends. Vivine was communicative and kind and I would stay again!

Dr Alissa was a great host. Her place is cozy and warm. The bed was super comfortable and being full of flu is right where I wanted to be. The place was clean, the kitchen was perfect and the bathroom even had a bath. I had everything I needed to be able to work and the Internet was super fast. I’ll definitely be back. Dr Alissa's place is perfect. Dr Alissa is responsive, which for me was the most important thing, and she made sure I have everything that I ever needed. The place is fully equipped and clean and the vibe was warm. I would go to her place again if I ever needed a room in the area.

Good basic apartment-- clean and comfortable, but definitely a basement apartment, with a little bit of a basement smell, and low ceiling for the 6'+ guys in our family. Alissa is a good host-- good communication and thoughtful amenities. Very good strong wifi, which is a huge plus.

Lovely place! It's clean and pleasant. It even had its own entrance and a driveway to park your car! Would highly recommend.

Munapai Suites is home to a lovely family, headed by a highly intelligent, educated and hospitable woman, who just happens to be an excellent cook! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 8 night stay there, from Christmas Eve through New Year’s Day. Staying there made for a very comfortable, convenient and memorable visit to the New York metropolitan area.

Wonderful place to stay! The bedroom is a nice size with plenty of room for two people. The kitchen is amazing to cook in. There are plenty of pots and pans and utensils available. You also get your own cabinet to store your food in. You share the fridge with other guests, but theres always room. The place was always clean and she even has a cleaning service come every week! Amazing! One thing to note is that overnight parking is across the street. It’s a bit confusing because it says there isn’t on the sign, but it is.

I have stayed at this place 2x and I would stay their again. Great people and a great value.

Tendai is an excellent host. The guest apartments are very comfortable and tidy and actually better than what you see on the pictures. Tendai is warm and very welcoming. My wife and I had great stay.

Tendai's place is one with a difference, of course they 're not all the same, the location is great, Tendai herself is a pleasure to meet, call in and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Tendai’s AirBnb is first rate, always spotless, close to Seton Hall University where our daughter attends. There is a Walgreens within a block and a supermarket two blocks away. We felt safe in the area and walked to Seton Hall and downtown South Orange many times. The beds are comfy. I have stayed at her AirBnb on 4 occasions and I have had a pleasant visit each time. The laundry is a nice perk. I give her place two thumbs up.
