  • Michael's place is so wonderful! There is an incredible view and the waterfall behind the house is so pretty. The bed we slept in was very comfortable, the house was well stocked, and Michael was available if we needed help. We felt right at home the second we set our bags down.

  • Such a unique stay with a beautiful view, near the cutest town. Michael was such a great host with an amazing place and I can’t wait to return! The kayaks were such a fun touch :)

  • Very relaxing and cozy place to stay. Amazing views. Waterfalls right behind the cabin! Amenities-wise the cabin had everything we needed from toiletries, kitchen appliances, condiments, tools, activities etc. The fireplace made the whole place that much better. A plus was the owner. He accommodated our requests happily, gave us a ton of information, and responded very quickly. I had such a wonderful time. You’ll not run out of things to do even in the winter! Will definitely be back again!

  • This is the perfect cabin to make you feel like you are far away from everything and find a sense of calm/peace again. The fire place made the cabin experience great while it was cold and rainy outside. Lake Sutherland is beautiful and quiet. Michael is a great host & quick to respond. Highly recommend this cabin!

  • Michael was very communicative and even allowed us to reschedule our stay after a storm made it impossible for us to make our initial reservation. The place was clean and cozy. Perfect for a weekend getaway.

  • Had an amazing birthday getaway at Michael's lakeside cabin! Loved warming up around the wood stove and all the wooden features and local PNW art make for an extremely cozy atmosphere. Michael is an excellent host with a great wealth of local knowledge, always quick to reply and willing to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Cant wait to come back!

  • The space was just as described in the listing. There were a few thoughtful little touches such as games and a diverse selection of books to read as well as complimentary tea, coffee and snacks. I could tell they really put thought into making the space welcoming. It felt like when you go to stay with a close friend or relative there was that same sense of homey-ness and hospitality. It was a lovely stay.

  • My SO and I stayed for 2 nights in the Garden Shed and LOVED it. The space is delightful and exactly how we expected based on the pictures and description. We felt like we were away without being too far from the hiking and sight seeing that we had planned - perfect! We would love to come back, and highly recommend it.

  • Great cozy little cabin hidden off the beaten path!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Jamie and Tyler's Garden Shed! The space was just as described online. The bed was super comfortable, and we appreciated having oatmeal and coffee for breakfast. We'd love to stay again and spend more time exploring the area!

    Megan2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jamie’s place is wonderful! It is just as advertised. The space is so cute and cozy - we loved all the plants and the decor! The bed was HUGE and so comfortable. We were able to cook breakfast and dinner there, which was a plus, and Jamie provided everything we could have needed to be able to cook. The bathroom was nice and the shower was very warm. Jamie even provided a bunch of shampoo and soap options! The location is beautiful and great in its proximity to Port Angeles, Lake Crescent, and Cape Flattery. We were even able to watch some Netflix on the tv there as well. Overall, we had an awesome weekend and would recommend this place to anyone!

Welcome to our humble abode located on beautiful Lake Sutherland. Built in 1974, our rustic cabin has been used by our family primarily on summer weekends until now. The location is beautiful and convenient for people who are visiting the Port Angeles area or Olympic National Park and are looking for a place to rest and relax.
The cabin is comprised of a kitchen, living room and bathroom on the first floor and a bedroom and den in the daylight basement. The interior of the cabin needs some cosmetic improvements, but we added the beautiful and spacious new deck in 2017 that provides a lovely setting for morning coffee or a glass of wine or dinner in the evening. There is one bedroom with a queen bed downstairs available for use by guests and is accessed by a (*steep and narrow*) spiral staircase. There are also two trundle beds (four twin beds), one upstairs and one downstairs. The entire space is about 1000 sq ft. The kitchen is equipped with the essentials: coffee maker/grinder, electric teapot, dishes, pots and pans, cooking utensils, full-size refrigerator/freezer, stove/oven, microwave, toaster, waffle maker and electric griddle. There is a gas grill outside. The bathroom is small and we provide soap, shampoo, conditioner and plenty of towels. Chairs and beach towels are provided. We have three paddle boards available during summer months for guests to use. A trail down to the water is shared with our neighbor and getting to our dock requires walking about 40 feet (partly on the neighbor's property) along the water from the end of the trail. There is parking in front of the house, which is accessed by a steep driveway. The washer and dryer are located in a small shed on the side of the house. We do not have a television at the cabin but we do have books, games, puzzles and a small Bluetooth speaker. There is wi-fi at the lake house, but the signal is unreliable at times due to heavy traffic in the summer and weather conditions in the winter. Cell phone coverage varies by provider and data access can be slower in the summer.
The lake is pretty quiet in the late fall, winter and spring, though there is a handful of people living there year-round. Things get busier in the summer months, when property owners and guests bring their boats and jet skis out for fun in the sun, especially on weekends. Kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, bird watching and fishing are also popular. The public boat launch, which provides the only public access to the lake, is located just a few minutes from the cabin and requires a Discovery Pass, which can be purchased locally. There is a small convenience store/gas station located across the lake that can be accessed via a 5 minute drive. It is recommended that groceries be purchased in Port Angeles before coming out to the lake.
  • When I booked this space, I thought if the views of the lake were anywhere close to the posted pictures I'd be happy. The pictures do not do the beauty of this lake justice. The lake is absolutely stunning and views from the deck are perfect!

  • We really enjoyed our stay here. Such a great location!

  • Sara’s place is a great home base for exploring the north end of the park. Lake Sutherland is beautiful and the deck has a great view. The home is older and needs some updates, but it was very clean and Sara had some really nice touches. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Granny’s cafe is 5 min down the road and has great food.

    Heather2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful lake front location with great hospitality.

  • Centralized location close to port angeles, lake crescent and forks WA. Great views of the lake!

    Chad2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Would definitely recommend staying here. The view of Lake Sutherland on the deck was amazing. The house was very close to Lake Crescent and other go to spots in Olympic National Park. Also very close to Granny's Cafe which was a great local spot to eat.

    Michelle2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Sara's house is cozy and comfy, stocked with all the stuff you need in a lake cabin: blankets, lots of dishes of any kind you'll need, a variety of furniture to lounge around in, and a bunch of board games to boot. When there was an unforeseen issue with our lodging, Sara's response was quick and responsive. She's done a lot of work to make this house a comfortable place to stay, and it shows. Thanks Sara!

  • Tommy has the most stunning cabin with a gorgeous view of the water and mountains! He is an incredible host. He has plenty of knowledge about the area and great suggestions! He helped so much with advice on different hikes in the area. I highly recommend a stay here!

  • Strongly recommend this home! If you are looking for a secluded retreat, this is the spot! Far enough out to be in your own little mountain world, but close enough to Port Angeles for a quick drive to some amazing restaurants and shops. But the house has all the comforts of home, and absolutely anything you could need to cook your own meals, along with an awesome keurig and plenty of k cups provided! We will for sure be back!

    Holly2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I could spend days looking off the deck. We saw a couple of bald eagles and a lovely weather mix. The space was inviting and the fireplace was divine. Great hub for exploring the park and still close to amenities.

  • Tommy is a great host, and his place is phenomenal. We had a very comfortable stay without needing to bring many things. We absolutely enjoyed the cabin!

  • I can't say enough about Tommy's place! Such a beautiful setting and beautiful space inside. Always very clean and the comfiest bed! Tommy's a gracious host and is very accommodating. It's the perfect location to explore the peninsula. Can't wait to come back for a visit!

    Tammy2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home! Loved extra touches such as fireplace, stereo, and coffee bar. Thanks Tommy!

    Janet2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Tommy’s home was large, very comfortable and we’ll equipped. We were impressed with how well he had thought out what he provided and how he explained it.

    Steve2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Tommy’s place. We were able to see the snow line from the porch and the beds were super comfy! The kitchen was fully stocked with cutlery, dish ware, and cook ware as well as Tupperware, spices, etc. There are some games provided that our kiddos enjoyed! The house is kind of hard to find, especially when it’s dark at night and it’s the first time there. We would definitely rent here if we visit Port Angeles again!

Nestled in Maple Grove, a small gated community, this home has breathtaking views of the lake. You will have the use of a dock & boat launch, private community beach, & a beautiful view of the lake from the house. You will have a relaxed, refreshing time!
Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bedroom with a queen is upstairs, and the other two bedrooms are downstairs. One downstairs bedroom has a queen bed, and the third room is set up as a bunk room for kids with two sets of bunk beds. The top bunks are twins and the bottom bunks are doubles. If you are a coffee drinker, we have a Keurig available for you to use. Bring your favorite K-Cups, or ground coffee to brew using our re-usable filter. If you have a few K-Cups remaining at the end of your stay, is always fun to surprise the next guests and leave them a little treat! If you have little ones you don't have to worry about packing up your whole house, we have a lot of things available for you to use. You can count on a pack and play, a high chair that clips onto the table, baby gates in the garage that pop into brackets at the top and bottom of the stairs, a toddler potty, a Bumbo multi-seat that can attach to a chair to be used as a booster for a toddler, add in the newborn insert for it to be used like a traditional infant bumbo floor seat, or pop on the snack tray for meals. In the downstairs bathroom you will find a baby bath seat under the sink and even some bath toys! There is also an assortment of toys, games, and books for the little ones as well. Bringing a baby doesn't mean you are stuck inside while everyone else enjoys the great outdoors, we have a pop-up sun shade for baby that you can take down to the waterfront area and a great hiking backpack in case you hit the nearby trails. You are welcome to use whatever you need!
There aren't many houses in Maple Grove, so everything is very private. Many of the houses are used as vacation rentals so you never know who you will meet! There is parking on site, a separate parking lot near the boat launch and docks, and a place to park your boat trailer as well. Outside of the gated community on Lake Sutherland, you will find a plethora of outdoor adventures, from beautiful hiking trails, to the Sol Duc Hot Springs, Lake Crescent, and much more! Our home has been customized to make you relax and enjoy your stay. We have a hot tub behind the house for privacy, but a quiet creek runs along side it. In the living room you can enjoy a hot beverage from the coffee bar while you sink into the down cushioned couch and forget about real life. We provide bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths and kitchen towels, but you will want to bring along your favorite beach towels to use down at the lake. There is a dishwasher, a washing machine and dryer, and a two car garage where you can park or store all your water toys. Unpack your suitcases into the dressers and throw your suitcases in the garage too so you can really feel at home!
  • Everything was perfect! There was a small hiccup at the beginning of the trip, but the host was quick to fix the issue and went above and beyond to ensure that everything was good. The host is more than deserving of their super host status. Would recommend this property to anyone! Super amazing!

  • House was delightfully cheery and well-appointed. Even on a wet February day I felt like I was in a beach house at its finest. Our only disappointment was the hot tub not working, but the host were quick and responsive. Will be planning another trip for longer next time.

  • Jennifer was quick to respond and gracious. We had a wonderful weekend at her place - exactly as described and quite comfy! Would recommend.

    Chris2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my family first want to thank Jennifer for being flexible and accommodating our new trip dates which had changed due to a family emergency. 5 stars to her for being extremely supportive to us and moving us ahead by a few weeks. Thank you! As for the stay at Casa del Lago, we really enjoyed it. We were a family of 4 adults and a 7 month old. It was our first vacation after the baby and the amenities provided for babies/kids were beyond our expectations. They made us feel extremely comfortable on the babys first vacation. The house is perfect for having 2 families and their kids over. We would love to come here again with another family and kids in summer. The location is beautiful and scenic, couldn't ask for more. Amenities were great as well. Cleanliness was great. Overall a wonderful stay. Would recommend it to friends and family.

  • Beautiful home! Jennifer was very responsive and helpful. Place was sparkling clean had plenty of bedding and towels. Loved the amenities, lake access was very easy to access. • I really enjoyed my stay here! First thought is the outside motels had a Bates Motel vibe but the inside was cute. Loved all the animals and was welcomed to explore around. Granny’s Cafe was adorable and I loved all the different salt & pepper shakers! Our morning before leaving the power went out (which kinda only made it more fun) and we had a text notification right away. We’re talking about coming back next time we’re in the area.

  • I really loved this Inn. Perfect place if you want a quiet getaway.

    Kaitlin2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay while exploring the park. The rooms are very clean and just what is needed. The barn animals are cute and the cafe is convenient. All in all a good place to stay.

  • We absolutely loved our stay at Emerald Valley. The location was phenomenal - close enough to go to Port Angeles for dinner (Next door gastropub - so good!) but also right by the Olympic National Park for Mt. Storm King and Hurricane Ridge hikes. We also had beers out by Lake Crescent Lodge and swam in the lake, which was 10 mins away, so great home base. The pillows and bedding were most comfortable of our entire 10-day PNW trip - surprisingly luxurious for this little inn. We also really enjoyed eating at Granny’s cafe for breakfast and dinner - what a great convenience - and I was so glad you even served IPAs! Your property is beautiful and the room was everything we needed. Thanks again!

  • I echo the other excellent reviews, cozy cabin is delightful - immaculately clean, every detail considered, very welcoming and comfortable.

  • the place has it all!! we didn't take chance to kayak but sitting on the patios and dock in morning sipping coffee and watching the lake awaken is surreal. beautiful area.

  • We had a great stay here, enjoyed time on the dock of the lake, went swimming, had campfires, did some hiking nearby, used the kayak. The cabin was in a great location to discover the gems on the Peninsula. Everything at the cabin was clean and welcoming, we had everything we needed in the kitchen and it was perfect for a weekend away! We would come back!

    Heather2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is incredible! So charming, gorgeous private deck and a short drive from lots of amazing places in the park. We would love to come back!

    Melissa2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to experience the beauty of the Olympic Peninsula! The cabin had everything we needed, and it was perfect for our family with three kids, youngest 6 yrs old.

    Theresa2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful little getaway right on the lake. Everything that you needed in the kitchen, extra fishing poles and beach towels. Lots of wood for the fireplace inside and the fire pit outside. Just make sure you are able to climb cause it's a jaunt going down to the cabin from from where you park.

Premium, rare & private lake front cabin is 10 feet from the water's edge facing the southern sky for maximum warmth and sun potential. 2 large decks are placed perfectly between the cabin and water allowing maximum use and benefit of the sun and lake water activities. The cabin accommodates 5 comfortably. The shore is water and sand are crystal clean, private, and exclusive for you fenced on both sides offering excellent swimming. Guests repeatedly comment about the spectacular view.
Welcome to a world class lake ! Confirmed ... Lake Sutherland is the best lake in the world, and this cabin is right on the water. By best lake we measure water quality, temperature, natural with no dam, appearance of the surroundings, and cut loose fun like being able to land seaplanes on Lake Sutherland, Jetskis, Ski Boats, swimming etc. If you know of a better lake ... tell me where and I'll go check it out personally. Nothing in Florida compares and Lake Tahoe has been routinely ranked behind Lake Sutherland by folks who've stayed at both. See a video of this cabin on Youtube by typing in "Sunny Lake Sutherland Cabin". I wish AriBNB supported video, until they do, check it out there. The main freestanding cabin is 2 stories with upstairs studio with kitchen, desk area, full amenities, and king size bed. The bottom floor is dock side and includes a bedroom with 1 single bed along with a bunk bed (top single, bottom is a double bed). Downstairs room and upstairs studio are not connected with an indoor stairway, only an outdoor stairway. Both rooms have windows that face straight out to the water. This property has a large up-property area for off street secure parking for several cars . This ad is just for the main free standing 2 story water front cabin that accommodates 5. (Beyond 5 people is an additional charge). A competition grade Ski Centurion water ski boat with captain, standup jetskis, and waverunners are available for rent separately for water skiing, tubing, tearing up the water, and lake touring ... if interested ... please inquire in advance of your stay and reserve the equipment as they require either experience on your behalf, or onsite training from us. If you know boating, you can rent the boat without captain. We will wind you and your team up as far as you can go. We go harder than anyone on the lake. But, for safety reasons we need to know ahead of time what you would like to do and your skill level or we cannot accommodate rentals of equipment. Know that alcohol and water craft do not mix well. 4 kayaks are available to you right on the water ... and the kayaking is a lot of fun ... especially right down to Indian Creek where you can kayak down and into the creek quite a long way which is all under a thick forest canopy ... really really cool ... my favorite part of the whole lake ... check the picture we have posted on this listing with son Ted at Creek on kayak ... sweeeeeeet ! Finally, the cabin is as isolated and private as possible given it is in fact right on the water with no houses directly adjacent on either side. Except for occasional use of the ski boat by the owner (and you can typically jump in the boat for a ride on those days) you are in complete private control of the dock and deck. Waking up in this cabin with the huge south facing glass windows is like ... well ... waking up in heaven ... with a view of the lake and clear pristine forest as your view from bed. I personally feel guilty I have not shared this experience with more people. Very few cabins have this characteristic, almost all the other cabins have bedrooms stuffed in the back where when you wake up it looks like you could be in a hotel room in Cleveland staring at a parking lot or a wall. There is a lengthy stairway of 96 steps connecting the upper parking lot (and upper trailers) to the lower water front cabin. Our 94 year old mother makes it up and down. This heavenly waterfront site has a panoramic 150 degree view of Lake Sutherland . Experience the Pacific Northwest from a spacious dock - relax, enjoy, swim in clean water, and watch the eagles soar. Fishing is good with the best fish available being Kokanee Salmon of lengths up to 12-14 inches. If you're curious about fishing ... go to Youtube and enter "Lake Sutherland Kokanee" ... you'll see a great video there.
Quiet, exclusive, fenced, and private with enough on water lake activity to make it all interesting. No one can cross the property in front of you and the lake. You own the shoreline when you rent here. There are excellent hiking and biking trails within a few miles radius that can be reached by car or Clallam Transit bus. SolDuc falls is a spectacular water fall 45 minutes drive away and other water falls are closer. Hikes: Storm King, Spruce Railroad and Marymere Falls Trail in the National Park (both directly accessible by bus), SolDuc falls ... too many to name. Bikes: Excellent biking trails including the Adventure Trail and Olympic Discovery Trail (neither directly available from the property)
  • This place is the bomb! It's a cozy space with everything you need for an awesome weekend. Stu came over and got us dialed in on the jet skis. The lake is pristine and not too busy. The sunsets were spectacular. We went on a great hike up Storm King that was right down the road. I would highly recommend this spot!

    Zach2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • There's nothing like watching the sun rise or set over this beautiful lake, you can either watch it on the balcony or down on the deck on some comfy chairs. The hosts are super sweet and helpful. It's a wonderful location and the drive into town isn't awful to do some exploring or if there is something you've forgot. We enjoyed our stay very much.

  • Great time at Stuart’s place this past weekend!

    Louis2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful spot to stay to explore the sights of Olympic National Park. The cabin has picture perfect views of Lake Sutherland and great access for any water activity you might want. Really enjoyed our stay here.

    Mike2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Janet and Stuart provided an excellent space for relaxation, fun, beauty, and adventure. We found the place easy to find and all amenities were ready, working, and available. Janet and Stuart visited to review equipment rental instructions and give us a lap around the lake on their boat. We decided to rent the equipment and the boat and jet skis were enjoyed by our entire family. Waking up to the beautiful mountain/lake view was beyond priceless. We didn't encounter any issues. Stuart was easy to reach and responded quickly to questions we had. I hope to return someday and recommend this for anyone with teens and/or kids over the age of 6.

    Becca2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • This review is from the perspective of a family vacation with three teen kids (18,16,14); 2 daughters and our son. All three had the best time. We had a lot of plans to visit the local sites, but every day they got up and just wanted to do stuff at the lake house. No doubt this trip exceeded everyone's expectations. Having the wetsuits helped quite a bit with the slight chill in the water. Fishing was good. My son caught four small stock Rainbows and one nice fat Cutthroat off the dock all on a chartreuse Panther Martin and a cheap Walmart spinning setup. If you like being on the water, the boat and sea-doos are a ton of fun and easy to drive. Granny's cafe is a couple of minutes down the road and has excellent breakfasts plus you can check out the donkey, emus, and goats behind the restaurant. Even my teens enjoyed this, and I think younger kids would too. We did drive out to Cape Flattery at the beautiful sunset time, and we can say we've been to the most northwest point in the contiguous United States. Thanks for an amazing trip!

  • So my girlfriend and I tend to like quiet spots with few neighbors for our weekend getaways. We're not big into water sports, more hiking and canoeing. However, when we were looking for a long weekend wherein we could invite her siblings (ages 16-27) we knew we'd need something that would have lots of active things to do. Turns out Stuart and Janet's place was perfect. Everyone LOVED the kayaks, swimming, and the jetski. And the cabin is set up with so many comfy places (inside and out) to sit and enjoy the water, the mountains, and the view in those early morning and evening hours that I think everyone got a bit of what they wanted. . .social times and solitude times. The place is perched right on the water so whatever you are doing, sharing a meal, waking up, reading a book, you have a lovely view of water, mountains, and great sunsets. The lots to either side don't seem to be used much so it really felt like we did have privacy. The 96 steps down and up were not a problem for my girlfriend's seventh month pregnant sister and she was even able to kayak and use the pedal boat. The creek is a great place to paddle up to as well. Stuart and Janet sent us links to quick 2-5 minute videos that focused on different aspects of the place. The videos were incredibly helpful and a thoughtful/convenient touch in a place full of them. Definitely watch them and take Stuart's advice on everything from boat launches, to kayak carrying, driving directions, and how to operate appliances. Stuart and Janet have really maximized the space and clearly have built upon the feedback on previous guests. They are black belts in hospitality: you are in a new place and can't find a light switch, no problem, there are little flashlights scattered around the place; forgot dental floss or hair conditioner, they got you there too, with a little basket of hotel items that will get you though (although don't count on these and forgo your own stuff, otherwise none would be left for the people who honestly forget, but it really was thoughtful touch); and of course the place was sparkling clean, every inch. They have done everything they can to make each bed upstairs and downstairs personalized with excellent little reading lamps and a space heater downstairs in case its a little chilly-although those of us who slept downstairs were all just fine. Over all, I just had the impression while staying at the cabin, if there was anything I could think of. . .Janet and Stuart had already covered! They've truly maximized the potential of the space, anticipated your needs, and personally are as accessible and available OR respectful of your space/privacy as you need. We all left grateful for their generosity in converting this cabin to a rental so folks like us could come, bond, and make memories.

My place is close to the Olympic National Park, Port Angeles, Lake Crescent, Hall of Mosses in the Rain Forest, Neah Bay and restaurants and dining as well as the beach, family-friendly activities, and great views. You’ll love my place because of the location, gated private community, members only boat launch, private beach, and shared dock. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families. Port Angeles is also where the ferry dock leaves for Victoria, Vancouver Island Canada.
We have a great space on the lake and a covered deck to sit under and enjoy it no matter the weather. Although it has a cabin feel, there is plenty of room for the whole family or for friends to stop by. The Fishing Poles, Kayaks, and Paddle Boards are available for guest use and there is a closet full of life preservers sized toddler to extra large adult.
  • This place was great! Hot tub was a nice edition and the beds/living area were warm & cozy. Only issue was when we were checking in. We had another contact to get access to the gate (because owner was flying at the time) and that contact didn’t answer. We walked to the house to get the gate card (honestly wasn’t that far), but other than that the stay was great! We had an issue with the hot tub and they were super quick to fix it for us. I would definitely come here again!

  • Our stay on Lake Sutherland was the perfect way to ring in the New Year. Relaxing and peaceful with a cozy living space. The hot tub was great and even with a bit of light rain we enjoyed sitting out and listening to the water. They were able to accommodate a slightly earlier check in time and were flexible with check out as well with it being a holiday. Would love to come again to enjoy in the summer!

    Matina2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place was beautiful! View from the deck can’t be beat. Looking forward to staying again next summer.

  • Decoration is a bit dated and rustic but amenities are there and it was great having access to paddle boards and kayaks.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Ron’s place. The house was very comfortable for the four of us. The view is spectacular. Kitchen is well equipped and the house was very clean. Even though the checkin instructions were not clear and there were no chairs around the fire pit we had a great time and enjoyed very much our time.

  • This place is in a wonderful location. My wife and I stayed here so that we could easily access Olympic National Park. The house is perfect for a weekend getaway. The hot tub was great, the views of the lake amazing, and house cozy. Being lakefront was a big bonus, some homes are off the water, I suggest staying here as it didn't disappoint! House had everything you need for a great stay!

    Nicholas2019-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • We love staying at this house. It has become a holiday tradition for us.

    Janelle2018-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home. The location was close to Port Angeles and the National Park. The home was well equipped and stocked so it made our stay that much more enjoyable. The hot tub and fire pits were a major bonus after spending the day hiking in the National Park.

A rustic retreat with modern amenities offering great lake views, kayaking a great fishing hole right in front of the private dock.
Situated on the north shore of Lake Sutherland, this property is a great "home base" for those exploring the North Olympic Peninsula, hiking the Elwah Valley or just looking to enjoy swimming, kayaking and fishing on beautiful Lake Sutherland.  Nestled in the Olympic Mountains. This old lake cabin has been recently renovated --updating the kitchen, bathroom and main living area.  The upstairs bedroom has a queen-size bed and picture windows presenting a beautiful, wide view of the lake.  Wake up in this spacious loft-like bedroom and the serenity of the lake before you.  There is a flat screen smart TV in the bedroom, with a DVD player so you can enjoy your favorite movies by logging into your Netflix, Hulu or other online TV account, or by bringing your favorite DVD movies.  A few DVDs at the cabin for your selection, too.  Downstairs, there is also a double-size sleeper sofa set up as a permanent bed, with privacy draping, to accommodate guests for sleeping.  Easy drive to Ocean Beaches and other points of interest like Salt Creek for low tide pool viewings, Makah Museum is a must see, Cape Flattery most NW point in the continental US, Ozette trail is a wonderful hike starting at Lake Ozette and to the Ocean then back up to Lake Ozette (9 miles).  Also two entries to the Olympic National Park are near by, Sol duc Hot Springs and Hoh Rain Forest. Lake Cresent is a beautiful lake with an historic lodge for dining and a fun gift shop. The main floor living space is open-concept.  The kitchen is updated with beautiful counters and an built-in electric stove top.  There is a toaster oven and microwave, but no other baking oven.  There is a drip coffee make and tea kettle for your favorite hot beverages.  We provide dishes, pots, pans, cups, glasses, serving dishes and utensils.  The lake side of the room is banked by windows so that you always have a view of the lake.  There is a large evergreen just to the left of the view.  It is a favorite roost of one of the resident eagles at Lake Sutherland.  The dining table sits in front of these windows for dining with a view.  There is a love seat, adjacent to the dining space, creating a wonderful place relax and enjoy a good book or just stare out onto the lake.  A double-sized sleeper sofa is tucked into a nook by the stairs leading to the upstairs bedroom.   (Please note that there are caution signs on the deck railing, please no climbing or leaning on railing.)
Sequim-Dungeness Valley / On the lake /Many local beaches & boat launches to explore / Kayaks available / In the shadow of the Olympic National Park with plenty of hiking trails Note: please be aware this cottage is in a rural area. If you are arriving late, you might want to eat and pick up groceries in Port Angeles.
  • Amazing location. Right by the park on a beautiful lake. There are canoes and a duck on the property as well. Plenty of beautiful hiking near by! This was one of my favorite trips.

    Malvina2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • The view of the lake absolutely makes this property! The attention to detail inside the home in the obviously updated kitchen and bathroom is amazing and the house was immaculate upon arrival. The decor is classy and fits the style of the home - and last but not least, the use of the kayaks and gear on the lake makes this home “the whole package”. Would def stay again!!

  • oOur stay at Emerald Valley Inn Campground went much better than we could have imagined. The showers were convenient and they sold firewood plus the views of the mountains were outstanding. I would very much recommend someone stay at Emerald Valley when visiting the Olympic National Park.

  • Makes camping hassle free and easy. Not quite “glamping” but pretty close. Nice clean private wood/spa style showers, separate bathrooms. Nice to have a campsite with cute Adirondack chairs and picnic table, affordable, close to port Angeles, sol duc, lake crescent etc. conveniently with a cafe on the grounds so you can eat and be on your way in the morning without searching for breakfast. I will definitely go back for another trip to explore more nature in the area!

    Jeremy2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • The campsite at Emerald Valley Inn was amazing and John and the staff’s hospitality was outstanding! The check in instructions and check in process made the whole experience a breeze and the location is gorgeous. The Granny’s cafe onsite, real toilets and showers were all icing on the cake. Will be coming back again in the near future! If you are there with clear skies, make sure to look up towards the sky - the star filled night and glimpses of the Milky Way were amazing.

    Satya2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful long weekend camping at Emerald Valley Inn's campsite. John was a perfect host. Our kids absolutely loved the animal menagerie - two emus, three goats, a donkey named Donna, and all the roaming chickens. Excellent value, hospitality and new friends. We look forward to returning next summer.

  • What a hidden gem at Southerland Lake! So quite and peaceful, with all the amenities you could think of. The view from the windows was stunning! The house was updated and thoughtfully decorated to fit the lake house theme! We loved everything about it! Tucked away, but close enough to downtown Port Angelos for a night out to dinner or groceries. An hours drive to Olympic Park beaches and hikes. Just the perfect place to stay. We had 2 Adults and 4 kids and it fit us perfectly! Excellent communication with seamless check in and check out. Already looking forward to our next stay! Thanks Kelsey! Warmest Regards, Amber Kent

  • The location is beautiful. The house is very comfortable and perfectly laid out for relaxing by the lake. The kitchen is surprisingly well equipped. No WiFi but we had good cell service (Google Fi and AT&T), so it wasn't an issue. There are a lot of nice touches, such as activity books and board games for kids and blankets for sitting outside in the evening.

Mallard Cove is the best place on the lake! Our grassy lake-front and swimming dock literally get the very last bit of sun all summer long! Our neighborhood is also full of friendly, easy going people. From full-time residents, to other AirBnB vacationers, you are in good company to enjoy your stay! There are four kayaks available to use. I also have life jackets in various sizes. Please hang them dry before putting them back in their place. :)
Lake Sutherland is the gateway to the Olympic Peninsula and all its glory! Many hiking destinations, from very easy to extremely difficult are just minutes away. Head one way and the entrance to Hurricane Ridge is only a 20 minute drive. Head the other way and you are at Lake Crescent in 10 minutes. Although, you will find Lake Sutherland to be a much nicer lake to enjoy! It's much warmer for swimming and I provide four kayaks for your enjoyment during your stay! :) Many people who rent my cabin, spend their entire vacation there and love it! I have a gas fire pit to help with cool nights...or simply for the ambiance. The views from the deck are amazing and there is very easy access to the water only a few feet away. I have a 100% self check-in process. You will automatically receive access to the entry code on the day of your arrival, so late night check-ins are totally fine.
  • Great place Very peaceful and relaxing Rich is a great host Very responsive to questions

  • Really wonderful place on the lake. The description and words don't do it justice. Overall comfortable and a great place to get away for awhile. Would definitely stay here again.

    Alan2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We did a girls trip here - the location and amenities were perfect - the large deck overlooking the lake was the best. The area is quiet but easy to get to and close to all of the hiking and exploring we wanted to do. Super easy access and great communication. We would stay here again!

    Nancy2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a cool lake home! The deck was the absolute highlight; we LOVED having all of our meals out there, enjoyed stargazing, and a fire every night :) Lake Sutherland is lovely: great for swimming and kayaking and so close to great hiking! We would definitely recommend!

    Shannon2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • A great stay at Rich’s lake house with our two grown kids. We wish we could have stayed longer and just relaxed for a week! See the sights but I think Lake Sutherland was the highlight of our trip to the Olympic Peninsula!

    James & Mary2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The lake is amazing, with clear water, no algae and incredible views; and the terrace overlooking it is second to none: Literally it’s less than 10 ft apart from the water and has everything to enjoy it all day. Also, having 4 kayaks available to row the lake was one of perks we truly appreciate.

    Rodrigo2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • My family had a wonderful stay at Rich’s cabin. The cabin was welcoming, clean and amazing views/access to the lake. We enjoyed the gas fire pit in the evenings and paddling around the lake in the kayaks provided. The cabin is in a perfect location from which to explore the Olympic Peninsula.

    Morgan2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was our 2nd summer at Rich's place on Lake Sutherland. It was truly the #1 destination to which my two sons couldn't wait to return and are already asking to book again next year. Having now spent more time fully exploring the lake, I can personally confirm that Rich does indeed have the absolute best spot on the lake for summer enjoyment. Mallard Cove is the ideal combination of quiet, sun and water access, not to mention the house's beyond perfect outdoor deck that makes this lake house just amazing. As I said last year, the interior of the home is humble and small, especially the bedrooms and bathroom. Again, because it is very clean and virtually all of our time is spent outdoors, none of this bothers us at all. Rich is a fantastic host who is incredibly personable and so generous to include the use of 4 high quality kayaks and lifejackets for guest use. This rental is indeed the whole package and one of the very best deals I have found for a wonderful Lake Sutherland vacation.

  • Super close to Lake Crescent , the Lodge and all the hiking we wanted to do. The cabin is so cosy and cute, I wasn’t expecting something as small inside but it actually made it more special. Warm and charming. Great communication and appreciate the dog policy and the s’mores fixings that someone else left behind. 😊

  • Jeri was quick and communicative about our stay and went out of his way to make sure we had a wonderful time! The space was fun and well decorated and we'd love to come back for a longer stay soon.

    Jennifer2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my stay at Jeri's place. I got good detailed instructions on how to arrive from the bus stop. It was a relaxing area, close to hiking spots.

    Abhishek2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Jeri’s place is great, well equipped, the complex has a swim dock, easy launch of boats, fun area to explore. The trailer is just set back from the lake though so no lake view from the accommodation yet the hot tub and outside kitchen space make it really nice.

    Kirsti2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • The photos don’t do it justice! A lovely place very convenient to Lake Crescent and Granny’s adorable cafe. Jeri was extremely nice and helpful, and the neighborhood was gated and peaceful.

  • Jeri’s house is amazing! Locating in the lake side community, there is a gorges view of the lake Sutherland and we had a lot of fun! And the house kitchen is fully stocked, which helped us a lot for preparing food. Thanks Jeri! We would definitely like to come back :)

  • The farm animals were tons of fun for our kids. We loved hanging out with the chickens, goats, the elusive orange cat, and other fun animals. Granny’s cafe (on site) was awesome for both kids and vegetarians. Great, scenic location, too.

  • A very nice space with comfortable beds. Everything was perfectly clean and in great shape with views of trees and the animals on the property from the windows. My kids loved the selection of VHS tapes (so retro!) to watch on the TV.

Leave the urban world behind as you enter the psychedelic magic & wide open skies of Freshwater Bay! You'll be greeted by a quiet and peaceful home, (possibly) the worlds sweetest border collie, perennial gardens, fruit trees, views of Striped Peak, the Straits of Juan de Fuca, Mt. Baker and beyond! Walk to the beach and launch your boat/kayak in one of the favored kayaking destinations! Also close-Lake Crescent, Olympic National Park , Salt Creek, Elwah River etc etc.
My space is unique because it has both a beautiful peace about it. Rainbows, water views, incredibly clean and fresh ocean air, the scent of lilacs, lavender and jasmine...it really does feel like a paradise. Less than a two minute drive away is one of the countries premier kayak and boat launches
My neighborhood is somewhat private, the country dirt road is an easement to only me and two other properties. You might happen to see a neighbor, and feel free to say hello :-)
  • Awesome country house which is peaceful and clean. You will not be disappointed.

  • Staying with Rose was such a pleasure. Everything was exactly as it’s described. The bed was comfy which is exactly what we needed after a long day of hiking. Breakfast in the morning really won my fiancé over. Rose was extremely friendly and informative. I would definitely stay here again! :)

    Nikki2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place and host. I didn’t see much of Rose because I was mostly out exploring the National Park. When I did check in, Rose was friendly and provided helpful tips about the region.

    Nicolas2019-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and super quiet. There is a deck that you can partially see the Puget Sound from. Basic breakfast options, of cereal and toast. I appreciated that the keirigs were refillable cups. Rose is a guru on the area and told me about an outdoors spot that I didn’t know about in spite of traveling there every year. The bed was just a bit squeaky. If you toss and turn a lot like me, then it might wake you up some. That was basically the only tiny downside.

    Scott2019-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Good place!

  • Rose was a great host. Our stay was nice and comfortable. No problems with bathroom use or anything else during the stay. Rose gave a few suggestions for the Olympic National Park area and had a nice set of breakfast options for us so we could just head out and start our day. We loved her dog Jake who was a good friendly boy.

  • The house is very nice and comfortable with an incredible view to the lake and mountains. We enjoyed everything there and made us feel like home

    Ana2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • The house is located next to Lake Sutherland in a private community. Though it's a bit drive, the neighborhood is quiet, safe, and peaceful with a breathtaking view of the lake and mountains. Everything in the house looks brand new and spotless clean, which is extremely significant for us to have a great vacation. You can cook a full meal for a big family in a stylish kitchen, which is quite important considering the restaurant options in Port Angeles. Tara has been very responsive to my messages, though we never saw her. But if you like your privacy and don't like being bothered by strangers--or even owners of the rental house--as I do, this is the place. The only problem is the smoke detector that became malfunctioning in the first hour upon our arrival. Eventually we figured out what to do with it, but it was pretty annoying when it kept beeping every 30 seconds. In general, we had a wonderful experience staying at Tara and Roberto's lovely lake house. All the amenities are modern and of good quality. Thanks, Tara and Roberto!

    Adele2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful! Comfortable and clean, perfect location with a beautiful lake view. Easy entry to property. Great communication!

Welcome to our little piece of heaven! We are so happy to be able to share it with you. Our cozy Northwest-adorned cabin is nestled on the edge of beautiful Lake Sutherland, at the edge of the majestic Olympic National Park! Whether you are seeking a restful escape from the busyness of life or out for adventure in the crisp, fresh air of the Olympic Mountains...we have the perfect place for you. Please come, kick your feet up and find the rejuvenation you are truly looking for-Pacific NW style!
We have worked to give our cabin a very homey, local, NW feel and vibe. This includes providing local coffee and wine to all our guests! This is a place to really relax and enjoy time together, so we have provided games, movies, s'mores fixings, warm soft blankets to curl up with...all in this magical little cabin with a stunning rock fireplace and majestic setting! What else could you need?
Our next door neighbors are fabulous, friendly people that would be happy to chat or help with anything that may come up. Many of the families that own places on the Lake frequent in the summer, so off-season is exceptionally peaceful and serene. Summers are a fun, bustling time and people are very community-oriented! In the evenings people will "cruise" the Lake in their boats and wave and say hello. Enjoy their generosity of spirit, as it is very warm and welcoming!
  • The Riffle House with it’s beautiful serene lakeside setting is a perfect place for a getaway!

    Kathy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at this cabin. The location was perfect for the outdoor weekend we had planned. Five minutes from Lake Crescent and 20 min from Sol Duc River for fly fishing. The indoor fireplace was a big hit and the views of Lake Sutherland were grand. Floor to ceiling windows with a large deck to enjoy the scenery. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen supplied everything we needed. They left us a bottle of wine which was a thoughtful touch. We want to come back during the summer and take advantage of the lake and kayaks!

    Kelli2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great weekend at the Riffle House, which was the perfect home base for a snowshoeing adventure out at Hurricane Ridge. I know we'll be back to enjoy the lake in the summer someday!

    Sara2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I’ve stayed at this beautiful house under the old management (which had 150+ 5-star reviews) and the new (I think this is the first) and I’m happy to say ... so far, so great!

    Mark2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • SPECTACULAR!!! TRULY WONDERFUL!!! My family and I had an 8 day stay here, and it was the highlight of our entire year! Jen & Chris were extremely hospitable with generous hearts to accommodate specific needs. They provided some local wine, and coffee, lots of extra cozy blankets, toiletries, etc.The location is perhaps the best on the lake in our opinion. It's a large piece of property directly on the lake nestled into the hillside, and the firepit off the deck next to a little mini waterfall/creek!?! Wow! So serene! The deck is much bigger than the pictures, and the dock down below is huge, and had kayaks that were well used! We had lots of sunshine, a little snow, and a little rain throughout our trip. The lake was glassy and beautiful, and was always a heart warmer anytime of the day. The outdoor seating and bbq worked great, and you could also sit on top of the boat house to really feel like you've escaped into bliss. I can't say enough about this location. The hikes, local food, etc were wonderful. The kitchen was fully stocked for any cooking needs, couches were very comfortable, and everything was very clean. Beds had a nice wooden touch. The fire place was a focal point morning, and night with plenty of wood in the shed outside. I highly recommend this home time, and time again! Absolutely beautiful! 😄❤🤙

Amazing Lake Sutherland dog-friendly home on acreage! Enjoy this 700 square foot, lake level rustic 60’s style home with 136 feet of shared lake front property, a duplex-shared dock & moorage adjacent to the Public Boat Launch. This Studio Style apartment has an abundance of old world charm mixed with new & rustic lake home touches. Great layout with comfortable living areas & dining room. Enjoy lakefront vacationing at its best!
This Apartment on a Duplex has a lot of space around it for a typical lake house & is all one level... from the parking lot, to the home, to the lake itself... all one level. This is really unheard of on this lake. There is no TV or Wifi however 3G internet/cell service is available from Verizon.
This Apartment is adjacent to the PUBLIC boat launch, meaning there are folks with boats & water crafts going by often. As well as the row of small cabins that are just across the way. There is a 2 car shop right behind the home that the owners may stay in or adjacent to.
  • Wonderful place for a weekend getaway. Nice views of the mountains surrounding and the lake right in the back.

  • Tabatha’s place is amazing! The photos don’t do it justice. The cabin is really spacious and you have a beautiful view of the lake. The decor is so cute (dogs and lakes). The place is set up like an upscale hotel, with the quaintness of a bed and breakfast. Tabatha is so quick to respond and was a wonderful host. We hope to visit again when it’s warmer so we can enjoy the lake and outdoor fire pit.

    Kat2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Tabatha was a wonderful and thoughtful host. The property had an incredible view of and entrance to the lake. The cabin was clean and I loved that there were plenty of cozy blankets, lots of fresh towels and even a dog bed and toys for our pooch. The bathroom is a bit small but stocked with everything you might need! A very comfortable and clean space. The only reservations we had about this is that the cleaning and dog fees were a little high in our opinion but we did get a good experience for the value. Thanks again!

You can make your own meals in the private lounge area, with full refrigerator, microwave, coffee, toaster, etc. Close to any and everything you would ever want to do in the Olympic National Park and Olympic Peninsula. We want to help you enjoy this area as much as we do!
Perfect base camp for your travels in the Olympics, outside the city limits. If you are traveling with a dog, let's talk and we may be able to accommodate your furry friend (at an additional cost) or provide referrals. We always have a project underway (currently, it's building a chicken house) and we decided to start renting rooms as we work to become a full-fledged B&B in Clallam County. Those chickens will some day produce your breakfast!
We are around the corner from the Olympic National Park, closest to the Elwha/Lake Crescent/Sol Duc areas. We live outside the city limits and are known as County Residents. Close by, Camp Hayden is a really cool spot to hike and take in local and national history. You can also easily get to the city of Port Angeles, to the coast and Neah Bay, or travel further west to Forks. You can even take the Black Ball Ferry to Canada! We have storage for your outdoor equipment. A very nice private picnic area is available and we are within walking distance of the Olympic Discovery Trail.

  • Lovely space, would recommend on a sunny weekend getaway

  • This is a quaint, rustic little cabin on the edge of the most beautiful lake. We loved the peace and beauty of the location coupled with the fact that the place has its own kayaks/ water toys and hot tub. We found it all quite magical and our kids had the very best time here.

  • Great place

  • Best Airbnb experience I've had! Sequin Valley Properties answered all of my questions promptly, and my mom and I enjoyed incredible views from the couch and the hot tub during our stay. Check in was super straight forward and we really loved the space, its cozy and tidy and has all the amenities for cooking a nice meal or grilling out on the deck. We didn't get to use the kayaks because it was rainy but next time I will definitely take advantage of that feature!

    Kristen2019-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay on the lake! I am so thankful I read the reviews of the property before getting there, so that we were prepared for the intimate sharing of outdoor space with our neighbors. Would recommend bringing an extra cooler for food and drink and plenty of extra ice in case your neighbors arrive before you (and use the extra food storage space). We were very lucky to have wonderful guests renting the other half of the duplex, and even shared a couple of campfires together! The space is very clean, the kitchen is very well stocked, and the setting of the property is spectacularly beautiful! This was a great home base for exploring Olympic National Park and we would love to stay again. Next time we would probably rent both units of the duplex and come with friends!

    Krista2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful setting. Small space, but perfect for a couple's weekend away from the city (which is exactly what we were trying to do). Access to the lake is easy and kayaks are available and in decent shape. Hot tub is such a gift after a long hike! I felt far away from everything and the stars at night were spectacular. Communication with the host was always prompt, clear, and professional. Bed was super comfy. Would definitely come back!

  • Our family really enjoyed our stay here. The guest house was spacious and well-equipped, with plenty of room for children to play inside or in the little garden outdoors. Our son loved the barnyard animals and we appreciated the convenience of having the cafe right there onsite.

  • We had an absolutely lovely stay here, the place exceeded our expectations. We thought it would be noisy next to the main road but we didn’t have any issues. We appreciated the cleanliness, the old mixed with the new decor; the ample pillows on the comfortable beds, the cute little farm and café (serving yummy food) within walking distance; the proximity to lake Crescent and the friendliness of the people/owners working on the premises. Thank you for sharing your lovely place with us and making it feel like home away from home and more!

    Judy2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, great location if your visiting Olympic Nation Park and Granny’s Café is a walking distance away to have a great meal. I would definitely stay there again !

    Hovik2019-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • The unit was very spacious and well equipped. The host was communicative and helped us with concerns surrounding late night check in (we missed a flight and had to arrive late). My feeling is also that there simply aren't too many neat or nice lodgings to book in the area outside of vacation home rentals, especially if the nearby park lodges aren't "in-season". This was a good value for families.

    Anand2019-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Best Airbnb experience I've had so far! Friendly check-in and check-outs. The place was super spacious with beautifully decorated rooms. Beds were very comfortable, very soft and fluffy blankets and towels. Kitchen had tons of thoughtful amenities, even a pizza cutter! We were all so in love with this place! 100% would love to come back again!

  • We had such a lovely stay. The house was so charming. And was such a well stocked house. Had about everything one could need. It was the perfect space for our family to have a thanksgiving away. Great house, yard, and quick drive to the beach and hiking trails. Loved it!

    Katie2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here during a recent weekend. The space was well furnished and appointed. We didn’t cook in the kitchen but if we had wanted to, everything was provided and well stocked. There was plenty of wood for the woodstove and we really enjoyed how warm and cozy it made the space. The beds were comfy and it was so dark and quiet that we slept amazingly. The one note is that it’s a mile or so back a gravel road so be prepared for that. It was a great place to stay for a weekend exploring the national park and we would definitely come back again.

    Meredith2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, quiet, thoughtfully appointed, comfortable, clean. Easy check in. Overall an excellent experience.

    Aaron2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • This house is a great place to stay while exploring the Port Angeles/Hurricane Ridge/Cape Flattery areas of the ONP. We used it as "home base" for four days while doing day trips to these locations and other sights in the area. The house is very comfortable and has a lot of thoughtful amenities like warm throws, chairs around the fire pit, hot dog forks for the fire pit, extra condiments, etc in the kitchen and a well-equipped kitchen. The wood stove puts out plenty of heat and after reading the included instructions, we were building fires quickly and easily and warming the living space quickly. A fire in the evening kept the living space comfortable for the rest of the night. The beds are comfortable as are the linens. Water pressure is good with plenty of hot water and a spacious shower. We wanted for nothing during our stay and were sad to leave. It was a very comfortable, spacious and "homey" cabin.

Nestled in the Olympic Mountains, and tucked away on the sunny side of beautiful Lake Sutherland, is our vacation home, Sutherland Seasons. Close to town, but far from the crowds, our home will help you relax, recharge, and embrace the lake life.
Located off Highway 101 on a short, private cul-de-sac, gentle stairs lead you down to a spectacular view, with a house to match. The main floor has a wrap-around deck, with built-in hot tub, while the upstairs master suite has its own private balcony for taking in the sweeping views of the lake. Our house comfortably sleeps six, with a queen bed in the main floor bedroom, a king bed in the master suite upstairs, and a sofa bed in the living room. (With an incredibly comfortable TempurPedic mattress, this is definitely not your grandma's sofa bed!) Each bedroom has an adjoining large bathroom with full sized shower. There are flat screen TV's in both bedrooms, with DirecTV satellite hook-up. The upstairs master suite even has an eclectic collection of DVD's. Our roomy and well-equipped kitchen will make meal preparation quick and trouble-free. A walk down to the lake shore brings you to our seasonal waterfall that tumbles into the lake. There is an elevated deck for sun-bathing or relaxing. For those that come for the full lake experience, there are two kayaks and a stand-up paddle board available for your use. If you choose to venture out on day-trips, Lake Sutherland is only 13 miles from Port Angeles; perfect for a day of shopping or sight-seeing. It is a mere five minutes to the Olympic National Park and Lake Crescent, and less than two hours to the Pacific ocean, with numerous hiking trails and look-outs in between. Each season on the lake has its own unique charm. Spring, with the opening of lake fishing. Summer, with its world-class wake surfers. Fall, with its breath-taking foliage; and finally, Winter, often transforming the lake into a winter wonderland. Some years we are even treated to a white Christmas! Whether you seek solitude with nature, or fun in the sun, we welcome you to our home.
Our private cul-de-sac is pretty friendly and laid-back. Please respect their space and privacy, and they'll certainly do the same for you.

  • Thanks Kelly and Dirk for sharing your beautiful house! What a fantastic weekend my family had! I merely thought to pick a place that is closer to Olympic but the huge bonus of this place was all the water activities it provided. It was so relaxing sitting on the dock to read and chat. Kelly is a fabulous host and made our stay so easy. Highly recommend and would definitely come back to stay again!

  • Had an amazing time while at this lake house. Description of the house was spot on. To our surprise, it was better than we ever imagined. The lake is secluded and peaceful so we felt like we had it to ourselves. Our family had a great time on the paddle boards, kayak and paddle boat. So grateful for opportunity to stay at this serene lake and nice home. Only thing I wished we had done differently is rent the guest house too so we could have had the second bathroom and extra space for our kids.

  • Staff was very friendly, rooms were cute and clean, good location for where we wanted to go. Thanks for a great stay!

  • Emerald Valley Inn was an incredibly homey and warm place to stay. The family that runs the inn and granny's restaurant were so kind and welcoming. The room was nice, the food was delicious, and they even provided us with tips on which hikes to do and nice stories. The shower was a little finicky but that didn't take away from how much we enjoyed our stay.

  • Great location and very sweet hosts. This is a family run place and you can tell by the hospitality they do a great job. Check in was flexible, local tips were excellent, property was super pretty and the cafe next door was good. Highly recommended!

  • What a charming little spot! We absolutely loved our time here. The kindest people and cutest flowers. The cafe is a full on experience with the friendliest staff I’ve ever seen in a restaurant. The food is great too. We will be back!

  • Emerald Vally Inn was very clean, comfortable and provided easy access to both the ONP and the coast. Great cafe (Grannie's) on the property too!

  • Emerald Valley Inn was incredible. When we pulled into the drive, a dog came out to greet us! Then the host, John, came out to greet us and get us checked in. John was incredibly friendly and nice. The room was cozy and clean. The beds were quite comfortable and warm. The view from the property was absolutely incredible: we could see snowy mountains and trees in the Park. The property also had goats, chickens, and pigeons! It was a wonderful experience and I will absolutely be back here the next time I come to Port Angeles. One note, the place is about 14 miles from the main city, so cell service is a bit spotty, but don’t let that keep you from coming here!

  • Great place to stay. The view from the main room was amazing! The host Joerg was full of hiking and biking knowledge. The rooms and bathroom were very clean. He gave me room in the refrigerator and pantry to put my groceries. Sierra (bordercollie) was absolutely in love with him and she even hung out with him while I went exploring. At night he made fires for me. It was a very peaceful and safe place to rent. He was very accommodating with check in and check out time. I would definitely stay again!

  • Joerg and Elizabeth’s house is gorgeous! The view is amazing. And Joerg and Elizabeth are super welcoming. We had great conversations and they gave us great tips to visit the region.

  • The accommodation of Joerg is very idyllic overlooking the sea. It's 10 miles to Vancouver Island, the nature around is great. The house is well equipped and the AirBnB guests can use a living room in the entrance area and the kitchen. Everything is impeccably clean and very high quality. With the help of Joerg's advice, we could make the best possible use of the three days in the Olympic National Park. We were very pleased with the stay and have absolutely no objections not to stay there again! Just great!

  • Convenient location for exploring Olympic national park. All needed amenities (no coffee grinder) for making meals at home and being cozy and comfortable. Wood stove was amazing for the chilly nights and mornings! Our 2 year old absolutely loved the place and had such fun bouncing around on the trundle bed and soft chair. Would definitely recommend for families.
