Places to stay in Kukio
We are a nicely appointed condo in the heart of Old Kona Town. We are across from the Hulie'e Palace and only a couple of hundred feet from the ocean. There are restaurants, galleries, Kona coffee houses and exotic shopping right out our doors. Tax #: W70176163-01 Price includes state taxes.
This beautiful condo was just fully and expertly remodeled and furnished. It is new inside with sophisticated Polynesian accents. We are in the heart of downtown Kona on the island of Hawaii or "The Big Island". We overlook the oldest church in Hawaii, Mokuaikaua Church, and the Hulihee Royal Palace in downtown Kona. We are steps away from the pier, restaurants and special activities. This is the heart of the old village of Kona, literally in the back yard of the Hulihee Palace. We have one bedroom one bath with large lanai and a new kitchen, fully stocked with all the necessary dishes. Although we are in the core and center of the town, we are quiet because of the church as our closest neighbor. We are on the quiet side of our building orientated toward the church grounds. We have covered and secured parking in a garage and elevators from the parking area. Cable, high-speed internet and a new washer/dryer is included. This is truly a wonderful property unique because of its setting. Our building includes a wonderful pool and barbecue decks which overlook the busy Ali'i Drive and the Pacific Ocean. Step out of the parking garage and you are in the middle of our restaurant and shopping area. Prices include Hawaii tax of 13.42%! This is important when comparing prices because many people add it onto the posted price. WE ARE NON-SMOKING!
I just love living in downtown Kona. We are on the quiet end of the "strip" here along the oceanfront at Kailua Bay. It is quiet in our neighborhood soon after dark. Just a few blocks down along the waterfront are our nightclubs and late-night restaurants with daily live music. It really is a special place, very calm with many shopping, dining and night club options.
  • The apartment is very well equipped. It has everything for short and long term stays. The location is perfect, very close to the shore. Edward has been very available and responsive from the beginning.

  • This unit has everything. Clean and well looked after. It’s in the heart of downtown Kona. Easy to walk the street for local shopping and restaurants. Ed went out of his way to get us special beach chairs that we asked for. We would come back to this unit.

    Caroline2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The access was simple, Edward always responded to texts and questions fast, and the area is right by the beach and a bunch of shops! Such a cool area with lots to do, right on the ocean. Will definitely be coming back!

  • This unit is great...an ideal price in an ideal location. It was convenient to get to places, a wonderful unit layout, and an important aspect of our two weeks on the Big Island.

  • Edward was such a great host for us! We only stayed with him one night. Our flight got in late, but he was still responsive when we messaged him. He was even willing to work with us on our check out time so we could enjoy our day in Kona without having to lug our bags around with us. The place was stylishly decorated, comfortable, impeccably clean and easy to access. Thank you Edward for a wonderful stay!

    Diana2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This clean unit is in a quiet location that it very close to the waterfront as well as many shops and stores. It was comfortably furnished inside as well as on the lanai. Edward has stocked his place with many thoughtful items and was quick to respond to our questions. The underground garage parking was very convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Aloha and Mahalo for visiting my listing. DUE TO THE PANDEMIC I DON'T ACCEPT ANY RESERVATION UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE! "Pl.note that I don't have included the Transient /Ge tax ( 14.50%) in my price since it would reflect in the fee you pay to airbnb. I will collect it upon arrival." This place is nesteld on the slope of Hualalei mountain inmidst of coffee farms, from this cooler elevation (1200ft.) it is only 15 min./7 miles to Kailua -Kona, the nearest Beaches and Supermarket.
This downstair apartment is fully private with private entrance, bedroom has a queen bed, bathroom with bathtub/shower, walk-in closet. Lanai ( Porch) with view. Kitchenette has a fridge, microwave, toaster oven, electric skillet and electric pot, toaster, coffee maker, electric water kettle, rice cocker and a blender. Linen, towels and beach towels are provided. Free wireless internet, use of BBQ, car port. At 1200 elevation it is nice to come home from a day of activities at the beach to a cooler climate and quiet neighborhood to relax and watch the sunset from the lanai with view.
It is located in the midst of the famous Kona Coffee region, just 1 min. north from old charming Holualoa town with many Art Gallerys, a grocerie store, post office, coffee shop, and a wonderful outdoor restaurante (slow food). In just 12 min. ( or 7miles) you are in Kailua Kona town or at the nearest beaches.
  • The apartment is perfect! It is very well equipped, clean and offers a very nice view to watch sunsets. We enjoyed the stay very much and can just recommend it!

    Melina2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • A quiet space a little away from Holualoa Town, a large site with lots of fruit trees and trees. There is a two-story house in that space. The second floor is the host house and the first floor is the guest house. There are many similar homes around the property, in a quiet, relaxed and lovely area away from the hustle and bustle. Located at the foot of Mount Faralai and away from the sea, it is not too hot and cool. It's a bit cool in the morning and evening, so it's a good idea to have long sleeves. Rooms are clean and well cleaned. Cooking utensils are available, and there are rice cookers, microwave ovens, ovens, electric pots, hot plates, toasters, coffee makers, etc., so you can cook yourself without any problems. Since there is also a coffee mill, you can grind the purchased Kona coffee beans and drink it immediately. There is also a cartridge type water purifier, so there is no need to buy water. In addition, there are a lot of beach gear, and beach chairs, umbrellas, cooler boxes, snorkels, cool bottles, etc. were handy. The view from Lanai is a lot of trees underneath, the town of Kailua-Kona and the vast sea far away. Every day I spent watching beautiful sunsets. The lanai is large, so you can eat at the table or relax on the sofa. Rent-a-car is essential, but it is about 15 to 20 minutes drive to Kailua Kona, Keauhou shopping center and beach. Every day I went to KTA, Safeway, Target, Walmart and Kahaluu Beach. Check-in and check-out were easy, and the host lived on the second floor, so there was no need to receive or hand over the keys, just putting the keys on the table. The host woman is very kind and will answer me politely if I have anything, and I'm on the second floor so I can go to listen immediately. It keeps your private well, so you will rarely meet and help you only when you need it. I think it is the best location to spend your time on the Big Island slowly and comfortably, but I think it is a good distance for those who are actively moving to Hilo, Volcano, Mauna Kea, North Kona and many beaches, I went many times during my stay. Especially in the middle of the Kona coffee cultivation area, you can easily go around the coffee plantation everywhere. I stayed for about 3 weeks, but anyway, I found the location, environment, room and host to be satisfactory.

  • Karoline and her dog Hano are lovely hosts and her place was just perfect for our stay on the big island! Karoline has a beautiful house and guest apartment. Everything was sparkling clean and decorated in a cozy hawaiian style. We cooked a lot and were genuinely surprised by how good the kitchen devices (mixer, pans etc.) are! The whole apartment is very well thought through and Karoline goes above and beyond to ensure that her guests enjoy their stay. She even provided us with fresh fruits from her own garden! She also makes her own soapes and pays special attention to the environment and holding a sustainable houshold. Hano is the cutest, a very friendly, goofy and even a little shy doggo that one cannot help but love. We also loved the view from the apartment. One can see the ocean and watch the most amazing sunsets whilest sipping on a cold Big Wave or Longboard. So, if you get the chance stay here and enjoy this beautiful island from the very best airbnb.

  • Spectacularly natural, lush surroundings.. beautiful garden, flowers fruit and coffee. A delightful place to stay where everything is thoughtfully provided for you.

    Mark2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Karoline’s place was warm and cozy as described. It has a neat view of the ocean, and the property itself is surrounded by lush trees. The house was stocked with amazing coffee beans, which my husband really enjoyed having. Karoline’s dog, Hano, was a cool hang out in the mornings. The place is conveniently located to Kona and other beaches (about 15-20mins drive). Highly recommend it.

    Rasika2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Karolines house is very charming and well kept in every detail, and with a beautiful view over the garden and to the ocean. Peaceful area and close to a nice little village.

    Grete2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you are going to the big island, want a spectacular view, comfortable stay, and a wonderful host than we recommend this cozy magnificent spot overlooking Kona. We will never forget our trip and appreciated every second of our time here. Thank you Karoline 🌺

JUST 2 MILES FROM THE KONA AIRPORT! YOU CAN ARRIVE AS LATE AS YOU NEED TO! The health and safety of our guests, and my family is our top priority. Due to the evolving COVID-19 situation, we are practicing social distancing per the CDC. Our home is in the Kona Palisades Subdivision, directly above the Kona airport. For less than $35 per person (double occupancy) sleeps up to 4 guests comfortably, it is less expensive then staying at “most hostels” here on the Big Island and much cleaner too!
Comfortable, Spacious and Clean, "Private Room" with a shared bathroom. This private room could be shared with friends, and or family members.
Kona Palisades Subdivision is safe and centrally located to most places. Just 2 miles from the Kona International Airport, 3 miles to the closest Surf spot (Kohanaiki), Pine Tree café, Kona Mountain Coffee and Costco. The town of Kailua-Kona, restaurant, shopping and groceries, is just 7 miles away.

  • Marc’s place has great values for it’s price. The room is clean and comfortable with all necessities equipped. What satisfies me most is its private bathroom. It’s super convenient you don’t share bathroom with others. Moreover, you can walk to the supermarket and restaurant. Anyway, I recommend Marc’s place if you’re looking for the budget accommodation in Kona.

  • We loved the fantastic view and the "outdoor living" at Steve's place! So much that it made it hard to leave there to do our planned vacation activities. The unit was very clean, comfortable and had plenty of storage. Communication with Steve was quick and easy. Highly recommend this Airbnb!

    Betty2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The location of this home is amazing! It is off the main road, and it is so quiet and peaceful up here. The hosts have some stuff available to use (snorkel, beach chairs, etc), which we were very thankful for. Unit is super clean, and I loved the giant shower. The view is the best- it was wonderful to wake up to it in the mornings. I loved it!

    Lisa2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Steve was a wonderful host and we enjoyed our stay very much. Very peaceful setting and gorgeous views.

    Julie2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot rave enough about this place. It’s amazing and the views are unbelievable. You’re gonna want to stop to the grocery store on your way up, because once you’re here you won’t want to leave. Sleeping with a fan and the screen door open was just unbelievable. Perfect temperature. And breathtaking views.

All new! Enjoy sweeping ocean views from the spacious lanai or relax after a hard day at the beach in one of the bathtubs with views. Spacious 2,140 sqft unit accommodates up to 10 guests: 3 regular double beds, 1 sleeper sofa and up to 2 airbeds. Ideal location between downtown Kona and most beautiful beaches on the island. Check our reviews!
*** First, a few quotes from previous guests: * "Marcus’s home is exactly as described, including in the photos - very clean and welcoming with a lots of light and a nice view..." (Kathryn, March 2018) * "If I were going back, I would not even look at other places, I would go directly to Marcus'" (Clark, March 2018) * "It's hard to know where to begin...staying at Marcus's lovely home exceeded our already high expectations!" (Anne, Feb 2018) * "Marcus's place is amazing! The views are to die for, and there is everything and anything you can think of..." (Stephanie, Feb 2018) * "This was probably the best Air B&B we’ve ever stayed in..." (Christine, Jan 2018) * "I don't often write reviews but Marcus and his property were amazing and I needed to tell everyone..." (Mark, June 2017) * "Staying with Marcus is like having a friend's house on the island! Marcus was professional, caring and provided EVERYTHING we needed to have an amazing stay..." (Hsiawen, May 2017) * "This was my first airbnb experience and it picked me up and blew me away!!! I originally thought when I booked my reservation with Marcus and saw the pictures that 'no way' was this house that incredible. Pictures do not do this house justice!!!" (Yvonne, Nov 2016) * "I travel a lot. Marcus' place has topped the list as a favorite..." (Lucie, June 2016) * "This is just one amazing home. I've stayed in 5 star hotels that have offered less...." (Joseph, May 2016) See many more reviews under the review section. *** The spacious 2,140 sqft (199 sqm) upper unit of the 2 story house can be yours. The downstairs unit is usually occupied by the owner. The living area opens up to the lanai (addtl. 700 sqft - 65 sqm), which most people on Hawaii use like a regular room - in this case with great views and well ventilated. It almost feels like two homes in one, because the two master bedroom suites with their own bathrooms are located on the opposite sides of the home. Two TV sets feature your top channels, or log in to your Netflix, Youtube, Amazon Prime or others as main "screen entertainment sources". Use the Nexus 7 tablet in the unit or bring your own, WLAN is pretty solid and fast (that's not a given on other parts of the island). Enjoy your daily smoothie and coffee using the high quality blender and coffee machine. I have a 9 year old daughter and I´m happy to let you use most of her stuff if you bring your kid(s): play kitchen, scooter, high chair, stools to reach the sinks, etc. Basically all the stuff you don´t really want to bring on a plane! Let´s talk before you get here, I can also leave the beach wagon for you (as you may know, taking the kids to the beach is like moving an army, so this wagon is worth it´s weight in gold!). * * * FAQ´s: Q: How far is the closest beach? A: Closest Beach is "Pine Trees", about 10-15min by car. It´s great for surfing and sunset dining on the beach, not so much for swimming though. For swimming, that would be "Kua Bay", 15-20min drive from the house. Pristine turquoise water makes it a favorite for locals and guests! Q: How far is it to town / grocery shopping / restaurants / airport? A: Drive to town is 15-20min. There´s Costco close by (10min) and you´ll find stores like Target, Safeway, Walmart and specialty stores right in town. There´s also a store called "Island Naturals", carrying mostly organic food. You´ll find plenty of restaurants in town for every taste. For some first recommendations check out the "Guidebook" on this site. Also I have a long list with recommendations on the tablet computer in the house and obviously I´m always there to point out something nice for you in person once you get here. My guests keep telling me how much they appreciated the location of the house (check their reviews, it is mentioned over and over again). It´s close to town as well as to the nicest beaches of the island a bit more up north. Drive to the airport is just 10min and you can see planes coming in and going out from the lanai - without any noise impact. Q: How many guests does this unit accommodate? A: Short answer: up to 10. Long answer: 10 is kind of pushing it. There are 3 bedrooms, each featuring a double bed (2 bedrooms have a queen and one has a king). One of the bedrooms with a queen bed also has a single bed. Then there´s a sleeper sofa in the living area. Finally, if you really wanted that, I can provide you with an additional airbed (maybe for the kids?). Please keep in mind though that the dining table on the lanai can accommodate 8 persons max. But if you´re happy with eating in shifts or only need a place to sleep anyway - fine with me. From experience with previous groups I´d say that up to 8 is easy and everyone still has some privacy. Q: What is there to do? What kind of attractions are there on the Big Island / in Kona? A: Honestly, there´s so much great stuff that this question is hard to answer. It all depends what your needs and desires are, and chances are high that you´ll find a matching activity here. From world-class snorkeling and scuba diving to surfing, lazy beach days or challenging hikes, whale watching trips or helicopter tours to the volcano, swimming with dolphins or driving up to the observatories, discovering yummy local take-out specialties to 5 star restaurants, there´s an abundance of great stuff to experience. Just do a quick research on the internet and you´ll see. Please feel free to ask any question you still may have. I might just answer it on this section, so that future guests can benefit from it as well. Thank you!
It´s a safe and quiet residential neighborhood. The house is located at the end of a dead end street, so traffic is minimal.
  • Our group of 6 had the perfect stay. Every amenity was available and the space was just right in every way. Beautiful views, so incredibly relaxing!!

    Caitlin2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Marcus's home had everything our family of 4 needed to enjoy a fantastic week on the Big Island. Spacious, well equipped, sweeping views, comfy beds and a wonderful lanai to take it all in. We especially enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and waking to the sounds of nature. Appreciated all the beach gear, wash & dry facilities and extras that we didn't have to go out and buy or lug with us on the airplane. Marcus is generous, hospitable and easy to communicate with. We're already missing our morning coffee looking out over the water. What a wonderful time we had! Never easy leaving paradise :) Thank you Marcus.

    Kelly2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Marcus's place was excellent. The view was even better than we had expected from the pictures. Our family loved having dinner on the lanai and enjoying the sunset every day. Marcus was very welcoming and had absolutely everything we would need during our stay. I would definitely stay at Marcus' given the opportunity.

    Jamie2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • It was our first night on the big island of Hawaii, a 15-minute drive from kona airport. The whole house is clean, neat and warm. All daily necessities are complete and the washing machine is convenient to use. The most amazing thing is the 180-degree sea view. Watching the sunrise and sunset every day, happiness arises spontaneously! Marcus is very outstanding, prepared champagne for us, and also booked dinner for us, careful and thoughtful! Respect guests' privacy. Three generations of my family spent three perfect days here!

    Momosky2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Place was amazing! Very close to the Kona airport. Our favorite part was the amazing view where we spent all our sunrise and sunsets. We have a family of 5 and there was plenty enough space for everyone. Thanks for the amazing hospitality Marcus :)

Collect and enjoy fresh eggs straight from our chicken coop everyday, with our wooden egg crate located in the Ohana. Help yourself! If you're feeling adventurous, we have complimentary snorkel gear, boogie boards, beach umbrellas, bamboo mats, and beach towels. We are just a short 15 minute drive to beautiful Kua Bay, the famous Magic Sands beach, Downtown Kona and just 10 minutes from the airport and Costco! Marley is our sweet loving black lab. He is a big dog but very gentle and mellow. He will not jump up on you or lick you. But he will walk out to greet you when you arrive. He knows nothing but love! **Nightly rate includes tax** **We follow all Hawaiian Rules & Regulations pertaining to Transient Accommodations (State Required Information) TA#-037281894401 **
You will love this neighborhood! The top two reasons are privacy and the cool temperatures. Our subdivision is divided up into 3 acre lots, which means the next neighbor's house is about 200 yards away. The Kaloko area is one of Kona's most desirable places to live and visit. We are 15 minutes from downtown Kona and shops, 10 minutes from the airport, 7 minutes to Costco, and within 15 minutes to several beautiful beaches. This is the most ideal location when staying in the Kona area.
  • Jeff and Marley (Gentle senior black lab) are awesome hosts! Quite an oasis in the hills above Kona! If it’s open... get on it!

    Rich2020-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great little space, centrally located in Kona. Marley is so friendly, and so are Jeff and the rest of his family

    Timothy2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to honeymoon. Jeff even brought us fresh fruit. Marley is also awesome.

    Adam2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • The location of Jeff’s place was perfect for my trip. I enjoyed the cool nights and lovely view. The bed is quite comfortable and being a tall person I really appreciated the high shower head height. The space is clean, parking in a covered garage was a plus, and being greeted by Marley, their dog, in the mornings for belly rubs was sweet. I did not have need to interact with Jeff much but he was always around so I knew if I needed anything I could easily reach him. As a solo traveler I felt safe at Jeff’s place.

    Nicole2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful stay for the price. Every detail was taken care of, and it is clean as can be! Jeff was a perfect host who was very responsive and attentive during our stay! The property is lovely and we slept very well. It’s super nice to stay out of town for a couple reasons: 1. The crowds and extreme congestion don’t exist at Jeff’s place. 2. The cooler temperatures make for very comfortable sleeping. No complaints 👍🏼

    Laurie Medeiros2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff is very kind and generous. The fruits available are seasonal. We were fortunate to have fresh picked papayas, avocados, guavas, dragonfruit, and bananas. As well as fresh eggs from the chickens. We loved his dog Marley and hugged him everyday. The location had an incredible view and wonderful feel. We will definitely return.

    Juancarlos2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. No improvements necessary.

    Sarah2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff’s place was great and he was an awesome host. He shared some “praying hands” bananas and had ample beach supplies on hand. The place is just hit enough for 2 people for a few nights as we explored Kona and the surroundings. We’d definitely stay here again.

Our home is located at 1500' elevation on the side of the Hualalai volcano, with sweeping views of the ocean. Just 12 min drive up the mountain from Kona Int'l, with available parking for your rental car. The house is split into two apts- we live upstairs with our three friendly dogs. You'll have a king bdrm and a living room with a bed, so plenty of room for up to two guests. A kitchenette with fridge, toaster & microwave affords you a quick meal before your Big Island adventures!
Super quiet location on the slopes of Hualalai volcano above Kailua town. Views from 1500' all the way down to the Pacific ocean. Just 12 min from KOA, not in the flight path! Quick 15 min drive down to Kailua-Kona town/Ali'i drive/beaches/snorkeling/diving/boat harbors! We are off of the "upper road" above Kailua-Kona town, making it easy to get to Waimea, the Saddle Road to Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa and Hilo side/Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. We've lived here 33 years and built this house from the ground up in the 1980s. The house is essentially two one-bed apts stacked on top of each other. The downstairs sleeps 2 guests and has a kitchette and full bathroom, plus a small lanai, driveway and yard access.
The neighborhood is residential and most folks have lived here for decades. We built the house from the ground up in the 1980s.
  • I was welcomed upon arrival and it was an easy check in process and tour of the space. I enjoyed the evening sunset views over the water. Communication always had a quick response time and they offered great local information.

    Stephanie2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay here! Candy and Hayden are very responsive to messages, left thoughtful touches like bread, fruit, bug spray, etc.... they also have snorkeling gear available and beach towels. Bed was huge and comfy, their dogs are adorable, and the location is quiet and gorgeous. It is a great home base to explore the island from.

    Laurie2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • A great little place close to the airport, yet at about 2000 feet elevation so it was nice and cool at night.

    Garry2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Candy and Hayden’s hale was fantastic. It had rustic charm but all the amenities you needed (plus extras) to enjoy vacation. Quiet, serene and with a beautiful view, we were very at home. If you’re looking for something other than a bustling resort, that is still an easy base to explore Kona and further afield on the island, Candy and Hayden have the best spot.

    Lindsay2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect for a couple people to explore Kona!! We loved the comfy beds, the view of the sunset, and the books about Hawaii!! So nice that there were pb&j mixings in the fridge, along with some coffee. We also utilized the snorkle and beach gear quite a bit! Super comfortable and relaxing.

    Natalie2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Candy and Hayden are both really nice people. They let me check in before the check in time for my ease. I would definitely recommend them to other guests.

    Sopan2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay that is just a short drive from the ocean! Candy and Hayden did a great job making us feel welcome - providing breads and spreads, chocolate for our anniversary, and fresh oranges! We would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in Kona!

    Tyler2019-12-02T00:00:00Z

This is a very small space that is meant to serve the basic needs of travelers on a budget. Comfortable, clean, detached studio guesthouse conveniently located close to downtown Kailua-Kona yet removed from the hustle and bustle in a residential neighborhood. 20 minutes from the airport.
This is a very small space, approximately 300 sq ft. Perfect for solo or couple travelers on a budget. It will meet your basic needs with a comfortable place to sleep, shower, a microwave, dishes, refrigerator, freezer, coffee maker, and two fans. The room can get hot during the day, especially during hotter times of the year, yet since it is located at a fairly high elevation it cools down nicely at night. Two fans provided. There is no closet or dresser but there are some shelves that can be used for clothing storage. Wifi provided. Conveniently located a mile and a half from Safeway and Walmart and approximately a 10 minute drive from downtown Kailua-Kona. This is a very old Hawaiian neighborhood and the space is an old structure. Although it is clean and comfortable, this is Hawaii, please do not be frightened if you encounter some ants in the unit. The shower is very old and has collected some stains over the years but I assure, it is scrubbed after each guest checks out. Must be okay with animals as there is a cat that lives on the property and hangs out in the carport area nearby the unit and will most likely come to say hello. He does not have access to your unit if you do not want him to. There are also two dogs that live on the property but you will most likely not encounter them as they live in the main house and stick to the backyard. The houses in this neighborhood are close together and windows are left open for a nice island breeze so please expect to hear some level of neighborhood life.
Old residential neighborhood. Home is located on a quiet cul de sac. 1.5 miles from Safeway and Walmart. 10 minute drive to downtown Kona and 20 minutes from the airport.
  • Amazing place!

  • Super clear and timely communication with easy check in. A perfect little spot for a traveler on a budget.

  • This airbnb was perfect for our hawaii trip! Great deal! The location is perfect, right near downtown kona. Also, a cute cat lives on the premises :)

  • Hannah’s place was perfect for our one night stay after a long flight from NYC. Easy check in, comfy bed and some nice reading material about the big island made for a short lovely stay. Also appreciated the soft fluffy towels to wash the long plane ride off (it’s the little things :) Thanks Hannah!

    Nitasha2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very easy to get to from the airport using google. Great location to downtown Kona (about 8 min drive). Very clean and quite. Exactly like the pictures! Great space for the price.

    Patricia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is excellent if you need a spot to stay close to the airport! The bed was super comfortable and the host provided us with two towels! There were two fans to keep you nice and cool. Ideal for a couple or solo traveller. We were only there for one night and was staying at another Airbnb for the week. The only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars was because it wasn’t the most clean.. it smelled a little musty and there were splatters all over the mirror in the bathroom.. it’s super convenient but I probably wouldn’t stay here for more than a night or two..with that being said the host was very quick to respond and overall was a pleasant interaction/experience.

    Sav2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great as a stop over near the airport--had everything you need! Hannah was great, and answered my call when I got lost. A very gracious host! Thank you!

Located in the heart of downtown Kona only one block from the ocean. A short 5 minute walk brings you to King Kamehameha beach for a nice swim or sunbathing. Use the full size fridge, hot plate and microwave in the unit, or BBQ by the pool.

This unit is in the heart of Kona in a small, friendly complex. You can enjoy all sorts of shops, activities, the beach, etc without even needing a car.
  • I had a great experience at Laura's place. Lovely lanai overlooking the first Christian church in the Hawaii Islands that celebrated its 200th anniversary while I was staying there. Would be even more comfortable to have a dining table to eat at and work, especially during the lockdown, but I was able to get creative. The unit was stocked with all of the essentials. Beautiful location a short walk away from the beach.

    Ollie2020-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended, super easy and quick to communicate.

    Justin2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's place is great, the location was amazing and for the rate she is offering it was great value for money. The viewings were infrequent and not a problem. The space is small but with the balcony and pool area there is plenty of outdoor option and it is such a short walk to the main street and beach. The place is not overly stocked with household things, but there is enough to make it work, especially if you are spending a lot of time eating out. Would recommend this place to anyone. Laura was also good to communicate with, checking in was easy.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Marisa’s. The place was just as it was described in the overview. What we thought was great were: 1. The location to beaches and great snorkeling. 2. The location to restaurants and shops is a short distance 3. The BED was so comfortable. We slept so well here and had plenty of room to spread out on the king sized bed. 4. There is air conditioning if needed. 5. Easy and private access into the room. We were so thankful to have such a great place to stay for the week and would definitely stay again.

    Rob & Susan2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Marisa's place! It was a perfect cozy amount of space for two. Large bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. The bathroom double sink made it easy for us to use at the same time without getting in each other's way. More than enough bath and beach towels provided. No kitchenette (which we didn't need), so you could tell Marisa put thought into including a nice coffeemaker with pods plus dinnerware and drinkware for two. Location is in a lovely, quiet neighborhood with suburban vibes and a quick drive to restaurants, Costco, and the Kona airport. We were also able to explore northwest and south of the island from the apartment. Private entrance, so we could come and go without worry about disturbing anyone and we enjoyed being able to rest after a day of hiking before heading back out for dinner. Great communication with Marisa when we had questions. Thank you for a great stay, Lana! Would book again if we ever return to Big Island in the future.

    Christina2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Marisa's place is just as advertised. It is perfect for a couple. I particularly enjoyed the thoughtful touches such as a clothes hanger right outside to hang wet towels and swimsuits. There is also a chair and table outside in the garden where I had dinner most evenings; very peaceful and relaxing. The studio is also close to everything (shops, restaurants and attractions on Ali'i Drive) however I recommend getting a rental for convenience. We had Netflix even though we didn't stay inside the apartment during the days because it was too beautiful not to go outside. I felt very secure during my stay with Marisa responding almost immediately to my enquiries. She was very helpful and kind. She even recommended the luau at the Royal Kona resort and I could not have been happier. The neighbourhood is super quiet and that made resting easy.

    Tessenie2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Marisa’s place is beautiful! The bed is incredibly comfortable. Great accommodations! I highly encourage you to stay here!

  • We enjoyed our stay here. Accommodations were clean. Bed was super comfy. The space was very private (both inside and the outside patio area). Neighborhood was generally quiet except for some barking dogs nearby.

    Renee2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, great space for what we were wanting and in a great location. Marisa was very accommodating and responded to all our enquiries quickly. We loved our stay here and would recommend it!

  • Very conviniently located , comfortable place. Marissa is a great host and replied instantly to all my questions.

    Priya2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • The house is as is the photos, cozy, quite clean, near the airport and the city of Kailua. Very cozy, with what is necessary in the kitchen to make breakfast. The clean and large bathroom. It is accessed by the side of the house. We had no contact with Marisa, only the first day we agreed a moment, very nice and friendly. Good quality site price

You are welcome to pick lemons and papaya from our trees in season. (Not always available due to season.) Use the washer/dryer, supplies are provided. We fell in love with Hawaii because of the Aloha spirit. We want others to enjoy the spirit of Aloha, too. Many of our guests have toured the island and returned to us before leaving Kona. All have raved about our comfortable, clean, affordable ohana, our home and hospitality. They say this was their favorite place to stay in Hawaii, and a better value than other places they stayed. They vow to return and to send friends. Please read our House Rules, particularly if you are squeamish about tropical bugs or noises, or are expecting a $300 - $500 resort style in unique local accommodation.
Lovely neighborhood, 2.3 miles up Hualalai from the Kona airport (KOA). Our neighborhood semi-remote, but close to everything. We are 7 min. from the airport, but we hear no noise, as it is not legal to fly over land on the Big Island (except to land and take off). No street lights to obscure your view of the stars. We are 10 min. from Costco, 12-15 min. from town and shopping, 20-45 min. from fantastic beaches. Our area is perfect for day trips in all directions! Then you come home to a peaceful setting at a comfortable elevation. The neighborhood has roosters, dogs, wild turkeys, and birds that sing loudly in the morning. If you are sensitive to noise, you might want to use the soft earplugs that we provide. (Sorry, no refunds for "noise".) We live in the tropics. There are cute geckos that may eat yogurt and papaya from your softly outstretched finger. Since it's the tropics we also bugs, ants, spiders, centipedes, etc. We have Terminex spray regularly around the perimeter and under the sinks, so pests rarely enter your space. However, much we clean it is impossible for us to guarantee a "pest-free" environment. Sorry, we cannot provide refunds if you are uncomfortable with these "pests". Dogs may bark or be off leash. Walking is best if you go down 1/2 block and left onto Nana, (becomes Holoholo) a street that goes for about 20 min. before you need to turn around.
  • Caryl was a great host and made my grandma and I feel so comfortable. While we were there, Coronavirus cases heightened and Caryl was so flexible if we needed to extend our stay. Prior to our arrival, Caryl sent tons of emails with information and tips for us to make the most of our stay. The room was a perfect oasis and had great breeze throughout the day and night. We can't wait to come back!

  • Carly's place is clean, quiet and the king size bed is very comfortable. Caryl and John are extremely friendly and helpful. They provide a nice starter kit of coffee, cereal, water, and coffee creamer when you arrive. If you choose to buy some groceries in town, everything you need for simple meal prep and/or a day at the beach is there. The home has nice ocean breezes and is a short 10 minute drive to downtown Kona. We highly recommend Carly's place.

  • Such a lovely place to stay! I highly recommend. Beautiful space, great location close to the airport and beaches, gracious hosts and EVERYTHING you could possibly need.

  • The host will send you a lot of travel information by email before coming to the hostel :) We were rest and we didn't see it because it was a lot. The location is higher than I expected, and my ears were blocked several times, but I got used to it. It took quite a while to get into the house because I didn't understand whether the house was on the first floor or the second floor. At first, the host came and taught me where to find the houseware or anything in detail. There are all kinds of sauces and appliances. I didn't have rubber gloves, so I bought them and used them. I don't have tongs. What was nice is that you can use a washing machine and a dryer. It was nice to be able to use it immediately after going to the water. Only 10 minutes to the city center. It was good to be able to relax while staying ~ Thank you so much for giving us great place!

  • This place is AMAZING! You don’t need to bring anything but your clothes. Caryl has everything for you. I felt like I was visiting a family member’s house. It was like I was right at home. The place looks exactly like the pictures. All the things listed on Airbnb is what’s included. It’s a nice quiet neighborhood.

    Annika2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Caryl leaves no stone unturned when it comes to thoughtfulness of equipping her space for travelers that prefer to feel as at home as possible. From preparing your own meals, beach day chairs, towels, snorkels, fins, boards, coolers, right down to your toiletry items, Caryl has you covered. Caryl is incredibly welcoming and informative, she provides an abundance of tips and suggestions for places to eat, shop and sightsee. Our room had everything we needed, even a wonderfully cozy bed with crisp white sheets. This rental is perfect for those looking to explore the off the beaten path beaches that the Kona side has to offer. A nice neighborhood, with a great view of sunset. Would recommend as a good home base for exploring up and down the Kona coast. The only notable item that was minimally less than ideal, was that you should expect to be awoken by roosters singing their song every morning, as there appear to be a few throughout the neighborhood. Caryl does provide earplugs if needed, and if you close the main slider, it really does not cause a disturbance at all. No earplugs were needed by myself or my partner during our stay

    Michelle2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying with Caryl on our trip to Kona! She had so many amenities and nice touches to her place that made the place really special. We would recommend staying with Caryl to anyone!

    Ella2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great. The pictures don’t do the justice. We’ve stayed at a lower level of the house, with one large room with a bed in it, TV, table and two full wall windows/doors. Had our own bathroom with a shower and a kitchen with all appliances. The only thing that’s missing is a stove, but there is a counter grill/stove and lots of pans and girdles. This place has it all. The garden is beautiful and we’ve enjoyed the morning time outside. Caryl was so wonderful and attentive, and provided a very thorough list of places to see and things to do. She also provided us with the beach gear (towels, chairs, umbrella, body boards and such) and even snacks and water. We loved it and hope to come back.

Due to a new Emergency County of Hawaii Rule, no new reservations can be made from 4/13/2020-5/1/2020. All reservations thereafter are OK. Centrally located between South Kohala's beaches, and the dining and entertainment scene of Kailua-Kona, the Kaloko Coffee Cottage is at a cool elevation making naps after morning/day adventures a...well a dream! Far from any roads, the dominant sounds are the many birds who make their homes in the surrounding trees. This is a thoughtfully furnished home with an open layout, on a Kona coffee farm, just bring your food and clothes for which ever adventure you intend; leave the accommodations and ambiance to us and Hawaii.
Private 1 bedroom 1 bathroom Cottage with a full kitchen (fully equipped) and laundry. The bedroom and lanai have fabulous ocean views. There is a brand new queen bed and also a new queen memory foam pull out couch. There is fast WiFi and a comfortable work space. The tv has a fire stick for prime movies and shows. The house is accessed by its own gated driveway at the end of a quiet road. (If you care for a stroll it is an Excellent road for it!) The lanai is a great place to sit and enjoy a morning cup of coffee while watching the boats go out from the harbor. It is on a beautiful fenced property with coffee, citrus, and avocado trees.
The cottage is set at the end of a quiet one lane road on the hillside of Mount Hualalai, at a scenic elevation of 1600 feet. There are many beautiful hikes nearby such as the Jurassic Trail and Kaloko Cloud Forest Trail.
  • Great place. Close to Kona and the airport, clean and tidy, great view for the sunset. Would recommend and stay again.

  • This cottage is perfect in every way. The location is close to town and beaches yet far enough removed to be private and quiet. I would absolutely recommend it and would stay here again.

  • What an awesome 3 days we had here! Private, quiet, cool and felt so nice! An extremely well stocked vacation rental with a spectacular view of the ocean and sunset. Comfy bed and really comfy couch. You won’t be sorry if you stay here, such a welcome change from the heat & crowds of Kailua Kona. So beautiful!

    Dawn2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, spacious cottage with perfect privacy and stunning sunsets. Always a little breeze so no need for A/C. A plus are the mosquite-netted windows, although we did not encounter a single one! While there are further houses nearby, the cottage itself is really private and kind of remote. We would stay in the cottage again.

ALOHA ! Welcome to my affordable studio which is steps away from the heart of historic Kona town and Ocean! The studio is fully equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay and Big Island adventures has to offered. Priced lower, not as luxurious as others, so you save money for your food and entertainment ! This is a Licensed and Legal short term vacation rental with a TAT and GE number.
Studio on ground floor with a kitchenette, bath with tiled shower (bath and kitchenette share the sink), and a patio with pool and garden views. Fully furnished with a new queen bed, leather sofa, table, LCD TV, patio table and more. Wi-Fi ! Easy access to and view of pool area. Most popular location in complex. Older tiles and some minor rust on front of fridge, but all clean ! A cozy place for the money wise !
Located along the water in the middle of cute and cozy Kona, a smaller beachside town with lots of nice restaurants, entertainment and shopping nearby. A few beaches in the area within walking distance. Ironman start is only a 5 minutes walk away ! You'll love it here !
  • This condo is in the perfect location. The grounds are very well maintained. The condo itself on first impressions feels like it is in need of some updates, but once you are there a couple of hours you forget all about the appearance of the floor tiles and start enjoying everything this condo has to offer. It really is in the heart of everything Kona has to offer. Would definitely stay again.

    Danielle2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in until 116. They are all individually owned so its important to know which unit this review is for. It's a great value, the unit was clean, it had a nice size patio overlooking the pool and hot tub area. So it's not private at all, it's on ground level, which was fine and nice for us. I liked how much space there was out there to chill and relax. The whole complex felt very private as a whole and they really try hard to control the noise, no smoking allowed which is GREAT, and it's lush and green. Parking can be challenging, but there are many options and the front desk was very thorough and described all of the options for the free parking along with directions via drawing/map. The location is incredible, there is a private path through the complex and out to the main drag across from the Kona rock wall. It's really the best location, it couldn't get any better! I was worried about our unit because in reading other reviews just about the Islander Hotel (that's what it used to be but the sign is still up, only it's not a hotel any longer), but many of the units seemed in good shape. I would definitely add this to my list (Unit 116) on my next trip to Kona. Amenities: short step up shower, very small shower, AC in unit, plenty of space to exercise inside the unit, TV, sliding glass door to patio, comfortable bed, medium size refrigerator with freezer, microwave, beach towels. Washer and dryer on site. Pool/hot tub. Key card entry.

    Jess2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • This condo is in the perfect location in the complex. Close to the pool. The condo was clean and comfortable. Easy walk to downtown shops and restaurants. Barefoot Zone cafe is in the complex which is very nice to bring back a breakfast or lunch to enjoy out on the patio.

    Mary2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • This location is great! It is exactly what we were looking for-an affordable place in downtown Kona. Not to mention, Christian and CeCe are extremely responsive to any questions you have.

    Jaime2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Christians place was amazing, and his co-host Cece was an absolute gem. My husband and I mainly were in contact with Cece and she was able to help us out with extending our stay. The place is much better than the images. It has been updated since the photos were taken, so that was a nice surprise. Check in was very easy, and the ladies at the front desk were the sweetest and most helpful. They gave us recommendations on where to eat, shop, etc. For the value of this place and how close it was to the shops/restaurants, you can’t beat it. We will definitely be staying here again.

    Bria2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • I like that the Studio is ground level and very close to everything. You can walk to all the near by restaurants and shopping centers

    Abigail2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Hey I never met Christian but his cohost Cece is the BEST!!! She usually responds in a short period of time and is so warm and hospitable. I felt safe renting from Cece. I looked her up and Ithink she's rainbowbnb I think. Anyway, I never talked to Christian but I'm sure he's nice.

    Jared2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best units to have at the Islander, pool side with Barefoot cafe right next door. You're in the center of everything in Kona and a couple blocks from the main highway going north/south along the coast.

Just 10 minutes from Kona International Airport, this private studio is perfectly situated as the start for your Big Island adventure. The space is bright and airy with French doors that open to the lanai for an even more spacious feel. There is a closet, a private washer and dryer, basic amenities, a 65” smart TV, and USB outlets. There is a queen bed, a couch, and two twin floor mattresses. A queen aerobed available upon request.
  • What an incredible place. The view! Absolutely no complaints. Would happily stay with Kaia again.

  • Great place to stay

    Samantha2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • The space was amazing! It was more spacious than I thought it was going to be from the pictures. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals, the bathroom was well stocked, and everything was super clean. Laundry was an added bonus! Although we never got to take advantage of it, the outdoor seating looked very inviting. We would definitely stay again.

    Karen2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful location for an Airbnb! High in the hills above Kailua with 180 degree views of the Kona coast and the vast Pacific. We were pleased that Kaia's studio was more spacios than we expected, with plenty of space for the bed, kitchen, and sitting area in the "great room" plus an in unit washer/dryer and a large bathroom. The apartment was sparkling clean, check in instructions were clear and communcation with Kaia was easy. A great place to stay!

    Rae2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and quaint space with views that make it easy to wake up after a long flight.

    Carr2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We could have stayed forever, that says it all! The apartment is nice, neat and large. Has everything you need for a longer stay and is very tastefully decorated. We found the indicated frog noises to be very pleasant and soothing to listen to nature. The view of the sea is beautiful as is the entire property and the area. We felt very comfortable and were welcomed with open arms. I can only recommend this accommodation and I am sure that we will come back one day;) Mahalo

    Sarah Janine2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Kaia's place is gorgeous (as is the view) and is even larger than it seems from the pictures. Everything was immaculately clean and stylishly decorated and her communication was quick and helpful. The kitchenette had everything we needed and more. Our only regret is that we didn't get to stay longer. We highly recommend staying here!

  • A very nice clean small place to stay. Pay attention to description. Not a place to prepare meals, not eat snacks. But very close to many good restaurants. A little street traffic noise with lanai door open. Host very responsive and helpful.

  • Awesome location (short walk to down town Kailua-Kona). The accomodation is lovely and the pool looked great although I only stopped in once as I preferred to hit the beach. Very comfy bed and very clean! Lovely balcony (lanai) to enjoy morning coffee.

  • We had a wonderful stay at the studio. The space was very clean and well laid out. It was awesome to be able to wake up with ocean views! The space didn’t feel as private as we’d like because the studio shared a pretty thin wall with the neighboring unit but it wasn’t that big of a deal. Would recommend to a friend!

Kailua Bay Resort is right downtown Kona. The Ocean is visible from the lanai and most everything is within a mile of the flat. The resort also has its own hot tub, pool and barbecue area. The king kamehameha beach is only a few minutes walk from the house where paddle boards, jet skis and booze cruises await.
Surfboards, snorkel gear, smart TV (netflix/hulu), beach gear, kitchen with all the basics, laundry machine, cooler and tunes at your disposal.
I live in a quiet condo in the middle of everything. Beautiful lanai and a great place to chill and talk story.
  • Simple condo that is set up for two people to be able to sleep with privacy, as one bed is in bedroom and the other in the living room. A little scare on furniture, but there is enough to be comfortable. Walking distance to swimming and nice stroll in town.

    Stephanie2020-04-10T00:00:00Z

    Scott2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great central location, closer to the beach and the lively part of Kona than I expected. It’s right on your doorstep. There is a pool and BBQs you can use in the building too, which is nice. FYI - there is no oven in the kitchen and the bathroom is small and shares the sink with the kitchen. Still very happy with the place, though. Great value, great location, very clean.

  • It’s clear Karen was thoughtful when thinking about her guests. She has set up her home with not only the bare essentials, but with all the little flairs to make your stay just perfect. The house and garden are beautiful! In addition, her husband Robert is extremely helpful. Will be back in the future!

  • I enjoyed my stay with Sue the room was clean and comfy. Sue was also a sweetheart. On the first night we arrived Sue walked us to where our Luau was at one of the resorts, and showed my mom different areas to go shopping. Also walking distance to bars and restaurants and pick up spots for tours. Would stay here again easily.

  • Our stay with Sue was amazing! She is so kind, responds quickly to messages, has great tips on where to go and how to get around, and she meets you when you check in. The room is cozy and the airbnb is in a great location. If you bring your own vehicle, it’s important to communicate what time you’re getting back and leaving each day, because parking is tight! Sue is very helpful in figuring it all out. I would definitely stay here again!

For less than $35 per person (double occupancy) sleeps up to 3 guests comfortably, it is less expensive then staying at “most hostels” here on the Big Island and much cleaner too!
Comfortable, Spacious and Clean. This "Private Room" could be shared with friends and or family members.

  • Really cool house with a great view and a clear view of the stars at night. The host was very friendly and helpful.

  • Great location close to the airport, pretty clean, and cozy room. Check in and out process could use some work to make it easier or even have any type of check in or check out process for guest reassurance. No key or garage code/ door code. No WiFi password anywhere yet, advertised in ad. Overall if you just need a place to stay worth it. 4G LtE connection is good enough in that area for Verizon that didn’t need WiFi but would have helped.

    Douglas2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful tranquil home with ocean views and an outstanding host! Kris was flexible and incredibly welcoming as I began my big move to the island.

    Brooke2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is like staying with your super-cool favorite brother-in-law and his family, except this is paradise (and you don't get to stay for free, and the guest room is nicer and cleaner than you usually get with family visits!) The room is basic. The bathroom is shared, and well-used. The kitchen is completely lived in - this is a family home. But I would choose here over fancier places on future visits because the location is super convenient (very close to the airport) with an awesome view, and I was greeted so warmly on arrival at 10pm on one days' notice. I was welcomed to shower after my day in the water before I caught my redeye home. THAT is the kind of hospitality that helps me choose airbnb over other lodging time after time. The local roosters will not be ignored in the pre-dawn hours - you will be so happy if you bring some earplugs.

    Jacob2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very peacefull and pleasant stay at Kris's home with Mary, the kids and Kris. Bed is comfortable, room and bathroom are cleaned, you have your own space as well as a shared space with the kitchen to interact with the hosts. They give you local tips if you want. Very nice gamily to stay there, I will definitely stay again when I come back.

Located on lower slopes of dormant Mt. Hualalai at an elevation of 1,560'. Comfortable, cool, quiet, affordable Home-Stay. Shared bath, wi-fi, Roadside Parking! Awning shields deck from rain, you can enjoy tropical weather year-‘round. Cast-iron antique Kohler clawfoot tub gives the term “Hot Tub" real meaning! (holds a brim-full, want us to add our portable bubbler? Might make it even better!). Features a view of spiral arms of the Milky Way! Our Coastal view Sun Deck also serves for tanning!
Home-stay Hostel in Kona Coffee Country! Started out as ready-on-demand berths for sailing buddies, but they're "aging-out" of backpack travel. It was pilot-berth futons in the loft, is now 4 bunks in the Sun Room or twin beds (convertible to a King-Size Bed upon request) in our "semi-private" space (Suite Coffee). You all get to share the magic of an imaginatively re-constructed '40's vintage coffee shack! Holualoa Hostel is a Home-Stay located on the Coastview slope of dormant Mt. Hualalai Volcano - 1,560 feet above sea level. Cool, comfortable, quiet, affordable. Cozy rooms that accommodate as many as 4 people (capacity is 6). Shared bath, Wi-Fi included, Roadside Parking Only! Claw-foot (Kohler Antique) has a milky-way view and a bubbler. Fills to the brim giving a true "Hot Tub experience!" More amenities offered at this property. Weekly rate based on double occupancy. Group rates are negotiable.
Holualoa has attracted artisans, artists, musicians, craftspeople and characters, in large part because of fabulous weather, cool, comfortable sleeping conditions, lush vegetation and convenient location with views to the horizon.
  • I had a great time staying in the hostel. It is 20 mins by car from Kona and you don't have tourists there. It's good as a base where you can sleep and make trips during the day 🤙 Mahalo

    Frederik2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Rik’s Daughter, Maianna now runs the hostel and she is very nice! She’ll pick you up and drop you at the airport for $20/each way which is super nice as the hostel is hidden a bit off the road. The place was super cute; cozy quarters in the shared guest room which featured 4 bunk beds. Ample charging outlets are provided. The place is a true farm stay with great views and various animals making all sorts of noises. Lyft ran me about $13 from the Kona Marriott back up to the hostel; you will need a car to get back and forth to town, though hitchhiking is also common and pretty safe. The makeshift outdoor kitchen features a community fridge and 2 burner hot plate so you can cook, just keep in mind that it is outside. Covered, but still outside. There is a very friendly outdoor kitty, Lola that will keep you company as you cook. Back inside, there are 2 more kitties, Moona and Meena who will also keep you company! Meena is a cuddler! Overall I had to pretty good stay. The only thing I’d comment on is a good deep clean to rid the bedroom of old cobwebs. This place is easily the most affordable in town!

  • I really had a nice time at this place: Think rustic Santa Cruz chic. The hostel has a room with two beds and a room with two sets of bunk beds. I took the latter. There were orchids in just about every room, orchids are my favorite! You'll get a great hot shower if you want one, and there's a tub out on the patio for a bath. There was plenty of drinking water and cups in my space so I didnt need to go hunting for it. There is also a dog at this place, she's quite friendly and loves having her belly rubbed. ^_^ The host was kind enough to make a space out front for my rental car, he even gave me a lift to pick it up! Super nice guy, really responsive if you have questions. Important things to note: It about a $25 Lyft ride from KOA airport. There is no public transportation along this street, so plan accordingly. If you sleep in the room with the bunk beds, there is a small fan in the room. Leave it on while you're out and keep the door closed. It super helped with the humidity and cut down the mosquitoes dramatically. Also about that room: The daytime sounds are the night time sounds....the wildlife noise was constant while I was there. I didn't mind though, I turned on a soundscape to blend with it and it became a nice sleep soundtrack. If you are sensitive to that kind of noise, wear earplugs or maybe opt for the other room if you can. Wifi worked GREAT. The neighborhood itself is pretty quiet. No need for a key, you'll have access to come back and forth whenever you want. There's also a makeshift kitchen on the patio for you to use. I would definitely stay here again!

  • Rik was an amazing host! He was very kind and considerate. My stay at the hostel was so relaxing and the neighborhood was very quiet. • Great spot! Very close to Kona airport, Kona Reef and local shopping centers. The place was beautiful inside and out. You felt like you’re staying in a Hawaiian home. There’s a great hike just up Palani (main road) worth checking out while staying there. John communicated well, his place was clean, cozy and safe! I’ll be back again soon!

The kitchen was beautiful, with a large refrigerator, so there was always room for everyone using it. The location is great. It is only a mile from shops and a few miles from beaches, and yet it is located in a quiet neighborhood in a higher elevation, so the sleeping temperatures are great. I would definitely stay here again! I loved waking up each day to the sounds of birds!

  • Great stay in Kona. Central to the beach and shopping centers like Target and Walmart. The house is very clean and well kept and John was very kind! Well worth the price, we were very happy with our stay. However, do not book if you are looking for something private: there are constantly people coming through the house at all times of day (was not an issue for us). I would 100% stay here again or recommend it to a friend!

Stay in the heart of Kona when you book this cozy renovated condo. It has everything needed for a great vacation: a condo pool & grills, a hot tub, a beach within 1/2mi, and less than 2 min walk to all the restaurants. In this condo you can wake up watching the sunrise over the condo's pool. You'll be in the center of it all and yet have your peace in this condo.
This private apartment with bath is newly renovated and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is ideally located within 2 min walk from all the restaurants in Kona. The condo is a 10 min walk from Kamakahonu beach, where you can often swim with dolphins, or the Kona pier where the Ironman World Championship starts. It has a window wall with a partial pool view. Yet this complex is in a quiet and secluded area away from all the noise coming from Ali'i drive. We offer free parking and will provide a parking pass for our guests. The parking in the complex is on a first come first serve basis. There is plenty of parking on Kuakini Hwy by the entrance to the complex as well. We provide beach gear for our guests which includes: 2 beach towels, 2 beach chairs, 2 boogie boards, 2 snorkel gear sets, 1 beach umbrella and 1 cooler.
Our favorite coffee shop is Lava Java which is within a block of the condo. It usually has a musician playing in the morning, and a beautiful lanai. We like to enjoy our Kona Coffee with delicious macadamia nut pancakes while watching whales or dolphins in the bay. Our favorite restaurant for lunch or dinner is Foster's Kitchen. We usually go on their amazing lanai to watch the sunset while enjoying a delicious cocktail!

  • Brittany was excellent! Kept in touch on my day of arrival, offered to pick me up from the airport since it was such a quick trip back to the house. Room was great with a nice view of the ocean, and cool comfortable temperatures at night. Deck is lit and very relaxing to just sit on. Brittany also have some good pointers for around the island and even invited me along to go free diving if I wanted to! Excellent stay and would suggest to anyone! Would definitely stay here again.

  • Brittany has thought of everything. Comfortable bed, private bath & wonderful deck with a gas grill and view of sunsets can not be beat. Small fridge & coffee maker right in your spacious room. Be sure to ask her about a car she may be able to rent to you.

  • My husband and I had an amazing 6 night stay at Brittany’s and we didn’t want to leave at check out! The view is absolutely incredible from the cozy deck. We enjoyed our morning breakfast & coffee every day on the picnic table. The bed is extremely comfortable and was great to relax in after a long day exploring the island. The thoughtful extra touches like the coffee machine with pods and mini kitchenette along with the beautiful & relaxed decor was so lovely. Although we didn’t get to meet Brittany, she was extremely responsive and helpful through message with anything we needed. She offered extra blankets after a cooler night, as well as lending us beach chairs and towels. The space truly feels like your own mini apartment and you really get to enjoy being part of a neighbourhood in this location. It is also extremely close to the airport, which was wonderful after a long flight. I would highly recommend! Thank you Brittany!

  • Staying at Brittany’s was amazing! The space was super cozy and clean and the view is spectacular!! This lovely house on the hill overlooking the ocean surrounded by nature is a true gem. The sunset was to die for!! Brittany is a great host, kind, respective and super helpful. If you’re looking for a true Hawaiian experience, this is it!! I can’t recommend it enough!

  • Brittany is an excellent host and we enjoyed our stay. The view is outstanding and the place was spotlessly clean. The lanai was partly in the shade for most of the day, with such an incredible view. Brittany was very responsive and helpful with any questions and requests, and offered fresh towels part way through our 6 night stay. Her dog, Kona, was a delight, coming onto the lanai periodically to visit, but never trying to get into our suite, and very well behaved. The room got wonderfully cool in the evening for sleeping, with plenty of windows to open and close.

  • Great view and a nice spacious room. Only stayed for one night and didn't get to meet Brittany but she was quick to respond. Definitely recommend staying here!

  • Pros: Brittany will pick you up and drop you off at the airport if her work schedule allows. Her place is close to downtown Kona and is in a nice neighborhood. She let us use her car even when we weren’t staying at her place the entire time. This saved us the hassle of renting a car. Her dog is super friendly. Con: Not enough hot water for three people in the evening. Be super quick and you’ll be ok:) Not a deal breaker. We’d stay here again if Brittany would allow us.
