I’d like to recommend to anyone who is looking for castle-living. That is amazing stay and my kids love it very much. The little one can play at the toy room for a whole day. The castle is close to the Lake District. It is totally fine if you want to go and back at the same day. There is some miss understanding when we booked the room. Wendy give us two beds with a reasonable price, which is really nice. We will surely come and visit next time.

It was an absolutely fantastic experience staying at Augill Castle and we will definitely come back. Everything was spot on and the food was excellent! The rooms and the exterior are even nicer than in the pictures. We highly recommend this accommodation.

Augill Castle is truly special. The history of the place, the way Simon and Wendy have restored it, and the way they run it today were all exceptional. I loved the informal nature of our stay--it really feels like you're with family when you're at Augill. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone traveling to the Lake District. And the rooms (and linens!) are incredible to boot.

We stayed as a group of 9 friends to celebrate a birthday, the house was perfect. It was spacious and the hot tub was great and it was immaculately cleaned. Julie showed us into the property and explained how to use the oven, the heating etc. Dogs roamed round the property (which we loved) as the farm was next door. It was a 20 minute drive to Kendal centre. Thanks julie, hopefully we will stay again in the future!

Absolutely outstanding! Feels like a beautiful home with fresh flowers and little touches everywhere. Great location for exploring the lakes and dales but to be honest we didn’t want to leave; just enjoyed relaxing in this beautiful home. Will definitely be back!

The house was just perfect for a family party - something for everyone. It had everything we needed and the little touches, such as the fresh flowers & basket of logs for the fire made it feel really special. The thoughtful addition of the robes for the hot tub meant that even Storm Dennis couldn’t prevent us from daily hot tub time!

This is a beautiful farmhouse and you will not be disappointed should you visit. There was 9 of us and fitted us all comfortably. Pool table for the boys and hot tub for the rest of the family and a nice little sing along on the piano. Great spot away from the hustle and bustle with amazing views. You will not be disappointed with this little gem.

Absolutely amazing from start to finish. The cottage was beautiful! So many special little touches. The beds were amazing, I had the best sleep!! The master bedroom is gorgeous! You will not be disappointed this place is a must! One tip / take some extra wood and logs for fire as only enough supplied for 1 day - does get cold so take some extra jumpers or blankets and slippers ! Would defo return

We had a wonderful time in Peters cottage. A quiet and peaceful location but so easy to get to from the M6 and 5 minutes from Sedburgh. The whole place was clean and looked lovely and the rooms were spacious. The hot tub was clean and good for the evenings, and when it was too cold we had the log burner going to. The scenery nearby is beautiful. Would definitely stay again, thanks Peter!

After our weekend plans got cancelled last minute (gig was postponed), we thought it’d be a crying shame to not book something else a bit different. We found this little gem in Kirkby Stephen. Cute, cozy and clean with an added bonus of a wood burner. Quick and easy to book with hosts who got back to me super quick. When we arrived we went for a picturesque walk and sampled some of the local pubs, our favourite being the la’l nook and their local gin selection! We had a great time and now we’re home the diary is out trying to find a weekend that we can find to book this place again. Thanks so much. x

Great place, great location

Church cottage is a lovely cottage. Clean, cosy, with the added bonus of a log burner, great for these cold winter nights! Milk, bread, eggs, tea and coffee are all provided and other store cupboard items if needed. Very well located in Kirby Stepehen, ideal for local walks or for exploring further afield. The Taggy Man pub just across the road perfect for a drink or pub meal and the Church Gallery just a few doors down, for coffee and cake and a niche shop. Ruth was a great host, and very quick to respond to any queries.

The cottage was perfect for mine and my boyfriends long weekend away. It was spotlessly clean and tidy. We made good use of the Netflix due to rubbish weather and was nice and local for a stroll to the pub. Would recommend.

The Mill at Rutter Falls is a characteristic building in beautiful surroundings. Loved the interior decoration and homely touches. So special to be able to sit out on the balcony with a glass of bubbles and watch and listen to the falls cascading over the rocks. Great wildlife and visits from Squirrel Nutkin!! Lovely walks direct from the Mill. Would definitely return to this idyllic place! Thank you!

Completely amazing

Relaxed and beautiful. A great spot to walk from or drive to local walks and explore a beautiful part of the country. Thank you to our hosts who were on hand when we needed them and left us to our devices for the rest of the time. Blue tits and red squirrels come right to the door to feed - just lovely.

A true gem hidden away in the Lake District for the perfect getaway! We stayed in the Mill and the building itself was incredible, a fantastic open space with authentic wooden beams and spiral staircase! A very cosy interior with everything you need including a log burner for the perfect evenings. Coupled with the incredible location of being right next to Rutter Falls is a stay you will never forget. We came when the river was high so the waterfall was an incredible sight, we spent a lot of our time looking out from the balcony which is right on top of it. Such a peaceful location with the sound of the waterfall at night was almost therapeutic! Great walks literally on the doorstep and only an 8 min drive from great pubs and restaurants and a chance to drive through the river ;). Jane was a fantastic host keeping us well updated with arrival instructions and we were greated with a bottle of Prosecco and home baked bread! A fantastic stay all round.

A completely unique place to visit. Highly recommended.

A quirky, unique, bespoke cottage with an amazing setting next to a beautiful waterfall, with the stream just a metre from property, and a birdseye waterfall view from the high level deck outside lounge. Red squirrels eating nuts on railings right outside window. Secure garden areas for dogs. Lovely welcome tray, and Jane the host had baked a homemade loaf for us which was still warm on arrival. Very quiet, peaceful, and relaxing location. A feeling of real seclusion with access only via the ford, or very long, narrow farm tracks.

An absolutely wonderful trip - the Mill is a gorgeous space and Jane and her husband were very welcoming and helpful. We went for walks and visited local restaurants, but also enjoyed cosy evenings staying in and playing board games in front of the log burning stove. We plan to return in the warmer months and make even more use of the beautiful surroundings. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Outstanding cottage, well equipped and very comfortable. We loved seeing the red squirrels helping themselves to the peanuts. The location just next to the waterfall is truly special. It's a pity it was very cold so we couldn't spend longer out on the decking. The bonus of having the log burner was very useful and made the cottage even more cosy. Jane and Jim live next door but leave you to enjoy your holiday but available if you need them. We appreciated the little extra touches of prosecco, home made bread and excellent jam. We really enjoyed our stay.

Tom has a beautiful place, its clean, neat but extremely comfortable. We had a great nights sleep, the shower was lovely. Tom was a great, if absent, host. Everything was laid out for us. Highly recommended.

Tom’s place is clean, comfortable and convenient for so many areas and activities around a Kirkby Stephen. I spent two days at the sheep auctions just down the road. Don’t miss them! Many restaurants are just a few minutes walk away. Tom is very helpful and easy to be around. Have stayed twice and would do so again. A great Airbnb!

Tom’s place is just what a traveller needs - comfortable, warm, sparkling clean, quiet, and Tom is easy and trusting about use of his kitchen and lounge. Although we didn’t meet Tom, we had a great time getting to know the other guests- super hill walkers and adventurers! A good Air BnB experience.

Tom’s place was great, enjoyed the town and our walk around. Tom is a nature guide and he suggested an amazing hike that we took and loved!! It was challenging but fabulous!! Great area to explore the Lake District.

Tom has a lovely welcoming home that is very well-located in Kirkby Stephen. My ensuite room was spotless and like the rest of the house, beautifully furnished. The lovely comfy bed was just what this weary walker needed after several days hiking from St. Bees. Tom is from the area and knows its history well. On top of all his other kindnesses, he drove me to the railway station, (1 1/2 miles away) — much appreciated after the demanding hike to get there. When I continue my Coast to Coast walk in the future I hope to stay there again.

Tom's place is very attractive and in an excellent location. The room was clean and comfortable, with an excellent en-suite shower room. The shared sitting room, which we didn't use, looked very comfortable and was well provided with games, jigsaws and TV. A great place to stay.

Lovely place, very clean, great location to explore the rolling hills, castles, standing stones and fabulous farmers markets around. Lovely views with a family of rabbits nearby, nice to watch them play over breakfast. Very peaceful place done to a high standard. I'll be coming back repeatedly. Very good comms from Jay also, and directions. Perfect retreat for the solo traveller or couples.

Jay’s place is situated perfectly for taking day trips out to many places in the Dales, Pennines or the Lake District and is a nice and cosy place to come back to after a day out. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place to crash that is great value for money!

Well placed for Kirkby Stephen and opposite small park and viaduct walk to Hartley. The property has everything you need together with lovely extra touches like loaf of bread, milk,cereal etc. Underfloor heating in living room was great as the weather was terrible. Would consider going back in summer to enjoy some more walks in the area.

This is the perfect place to stay to explore walks along the Pennine way. Very comfortable stay.

Paul and Tracy are fantastic hosts. All the information we received was accurate. The heating was on when we arrived, Paul met us, showed us around and explained everything. He left us a lovely welcome pack including bubbly and chocolates. Tracy arrived with a lemon drizzle cake for us (gorgeous!) and she even brought treats for our dog (Smuggie says thanks). The house was spotless, everything was as described / expected. The house was really cosy albeit very spacious. The master bedroom is incredible and has SKY TV. There is freeview / smart TV downstairs. The house is right in the town with great shops and pubs within walking distance. We will definitely be back, thanks Paul and Tracy.

Paul and Tracy were fantastic hosts from the welcoming emails after booking, through to the unexpected delivery of Tracy's great lemon drizzle cake, we loved staying at the Old Gallery. Whilst the weather was terrible, it didn't matter because the place is so cosy-helped by the great log fire.

Paul and Tracy are amazing and welcoming hosts who made our stay more than anything we expected for a last min birthday trip. The location of this gorgeous cottage is perfect for exploring both Yorkshire dales and the North Pennines. When we got to the Old Gallery we were welcomed by Paul, who showed us around and had a warm fire ready for us when we arrived from Brighton. We were enchanted by the gorgeous rustic decor and felt right at home right away! We got a lovely welcome hamper with a birthday card for my partner and later surprised by a delicious home made cake by Tracy! COULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ENOUGH! Thank you again for everything! We are looking forward to coming back in the summer time.

This is a rare place right in centre of Yorkshire and Lake district.Geographically perfectly place airbnb with a great host. We were offered home made cup cakes the next day. That was quite nice of Paul and Tracy. They are very sweet and responsive on chat. House is minutely managed with all equipment, accessories as expected in an airbnb. A perfect rusty feel for the vacation.

The Old Gallery is a wonderful place to stay. Paul and Tracy have created a wonderful space that is comfortable and perfect for a country escape. We stayed over the Christmas period and it was wonderful to see the Gallery decorated with festive touches. Paul was excellent with communication and greeted us on arrival. There was a welcome hamper which was greatly appreciated. Would highly recommend this place to anyone who is wanting a country escape. Thanks Paul and Tracy! We hope to be back in the future.

What a fantastic find! We were originally meant to stay just the one night but after getting so settled in this home away from home, we decided to extend our trip! Kate has thought of quite literally everything when it comes to making her annexe a place where you feel comfortable. When we arrived she had put on all the heaters, already put up a travel cot for our baby so we didn’t have to get out ours and it felt so cosy. We had no trouble getting into the house using a easy key box and Kate came to check there wasn’t anything else we needed. Every our dog Dobby has everything he required and loved watching the sheep and goats out of the big front door windows. Thanks Kate! We hope to be back next year and will be sure to book with you again.

If you need a place to stay I would highly recommend Kate’s beautiful place. It was lovely to be able to join in with the feeding of the farm animals and to have cuddles from Sushi, what a beautiful cat. Kate was so helpful with suggested walks.

We loved staying at Kate n Will's; Kate took time to show us round n we felt really welcome and at home. She'd left little thoughtful touches..even blankets for the dogs. It was a memorable stay, we thoroughly enjoyed walking in the beautiful countryside, n we feel Kate makes a truly kind n thoughtful host. Highly recommended xx

We had a great stay at leisure cottage for a last minute trip to the countryside. The location was fantastic right by a river or a few steps to town. Brendan also recommended some great walks nearby. The cottage was a good size and it was a nice touch having underfloor heating in the bathroom as the weather was so cold!! We also liked having the choice of a bath or a separate shower. Thank-you for for the small touches and treats we really appreciated it after a long drive. I’d recommend leisure cottage for a a peaceful getaway in a lovely market town.

A well proportioned house which was peaceful and quiet as well as being very close to the heart of the town and easy access to good roads. I'd thoroughly recommend this cottage in a great location.

Wonderful little cottage in a fantastic location! Basic but everything we needed a lovely and clean. WiFi / internet was very hit and miss but heather offered their house if we needed but we enjoyed disconnecting for the weekend. Great value would definitely recommend!!

Good place for getting away from it all.

Crosby Garrett is a beautiful little village. Heather is really welcoming and assists with anything and everything if required. We loved it and if you don’t mind a drive to the local town for a drink in a pub and shopping for supplies, it is perfect. Recommended as a place off the beaten track.

Comfortable beds, lovely hot shower and everything you could want for a short break. Heathers detailed directions were brilliant and definitely worth following. Thank you very much

Great wee place, handy for Lakes or Yorks Dales, but also in pretty village and countryside worth exploring in their own right. Antique settle and wooden refectory table were great for spreading out my maps on - also appreciated the comfy sofa, very comfy bed, good shower and nice touches throughout like the wooden doors and china tea cups. Relaxing boho feel & very clean

Gill and Rob have a wonderful place perfectly located in the Yorkshire Dales to visit the stunning landscapes nearby including the Lake District which is only a short drive away. They are friendly, sociable and considerate hosts - I was offered a larger room when it became available, I relaxed in a proper large cast iron bath, enjoyed the company of dogs and friends, access to their movie collection and felt truly welcomed. I highly recommend it.

The house is a lovely spacious farm house, comfortable, and very homely and Gill makes you feel very welcome. The settings are beautiful with panoramic views over the surrounding hills, Howgills, North Pennines and even the Lakes which can be enjoyed from the bedroom window or the nice garden area around the house. There are footpaths at the doorsteps offering a choice of local walks and there is plenty to explore in the area. I look forward to my next visit.

Gill's house is a stylish country home, plenty of room and all the facilities you would need. Gill had a family matter to deal with on the evening of my stay, but still responded to my messages and ensured that someone was there to greet me.

Ended up having the whole place to myself as no-one else had booked the other rooms! Really great place. The honesty box beers and wine in the fridge was a nice touch. Brough, the nearest village with a cafe, restaurant, pub and chippy and convenience store is a medium walk or short cycle ride away.

A lovely cottage with lovely walks on the fells out the back. The train line is right behind but we hardly noticed it at all and the bank caused a glorious sun tap to sit outside in. Helga was very responsive and helpful during our stay. We all agreed that we would come back soon

This is the best value for money we have experienced in a long time and the host is outstandingly friendly, efficient and accommodating; helping us at the very last minute. We spent the days exploring castles and countryside followed by great food in the lamb inn then home to a spa bath and log fire. House is spotless, cosy and spacious with everything you need and more. Fun for adults and children. Definitely recommend!

Lovely and cosy cottage for our weekend getaway. Super clean, all amenities provided. Large and comfortable beds. Great spa bath (accessed by a beautiful but steep iron staircase). Fire in the lounge was delightful and the whole house was cosy and warm. Parking is a little tricky for larger cars but otherwise a fantastic place to stay.

We loved the cottage, a really generous space with everting you need. The house was really warm with a range cooker and in door fire place. Beautiful part of the country. Was not expecting fibre broadband too. Really felt like a home from home. 100% would book again.

A warm and comfortable suite of spaces set in bleak wintery landscape. We visited in February. Layout and fittings have been considered carefully, and Debbie and partner are hospitable and friendly. This is an ideal place to escape to whether you want to read quietly or explore the hills.

Upon our arrival we received a very warm welcome from Debbie and her husband Phil. They seemed genuinely pleased to see us and gave us lots of information about the area and the barn - a lovely personal touch. The barn was immaculately clean and prettily decorated with lots of interesting knick-knacks dotted around the different rooms. Debbie also provided us with milk, bread, yogurt, cereals, teas and coffees in the barn, which we hadn't expected at all. Again, this all added to the feeling that we were well-looked after and welcome visitors to South Lunds. The views from the barn are fantastic and you can be lovely and warm and cosy in the living room and look out at the hills in winter. Debbie is excellent at communicating and provided lots of useful travel updates on the day that we were due to arrive. She answered all messages and questions very quickly. I would highly recommend Debbie's barn to anyone wanting to visit the area, not only for the excellent quality of the accommodation and hospitality, but the barn is well-situated next to lots of public footpaths and is a walker's paradise.

Debbie and Phil are such kind and lovely hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. The guest suite of their farmhouse was stunning, finished to such a high quality. It was everything and more we could have expected. Set in a very beautiful valley in the Yorkshire Dales, ideal location for a relaxing weekend away. Perfect.....

We had a wonderful night's stay at Debbie and Phil's place and just sorry it wasn't longer. The place was immaculate and very comfortable with everything we needed for a home away from home night away. Exactly what we were looking for and would thoroughly recommend if you are looking for somewhere in the middle of the dales away from the chaos of normal life.

This was our second stay at Debbie's; we so much enjoyed the first that we couldn't wait to come back again. The accommodation is outstanding and Debbie and Phil are very friendly and welcoming. They have hilarious pygmy goats, geese, hebridean sheep and a dog called Bentley all set in a stunning Dales valley with direct access to excellent walking routes. There are plenty of good local pubs offering excellent service and food as well. In short, go and forget urban living for a while.

Westwood farm and Sara are a great way to reach the great outdoors ! Amazing stay and great people :)

A very friendly place full of character (and good food)!

The Byre is beautifully designed inside and out, very cosy with more than enough space for two of us plus a dog! There is a lovely bath, a log burner and the bed is one of the comfiest I've slept on! It is such a peaceful and quiet location, perfect for getting away, going on quiet walks and stargazing at night. We sat outside on an evening in the fire pit area which was lovely and had a bbq. Jon is a great host and sent over all details we needed before we arrived. He was very helpful and friendly during our stay and told us about the history of the Byre! As an extra touch there was a heated hot water bottle on the bed when we arrived to use whilst we waited for the log burner to warm up which was lovely. I would highly recommend staying here. We are looking forward to returning soon!

Honestly one of the loveliest experiences I've ever had at an Airbnb. The location was so peaceful and quiet, as was the byre it's self. So glad we stayed here and can't wait to come back already.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Byre and I can't recommend it highly enough! I stayed for two nights over a weekend as I wanted a cosy getaway in the countryside, and it absolutely fulfilled that. The property itself is gorgeous - finished to a very high standard, kitted out very tastefully with everything you could need, very clean, comfortable and warm. The logburner, free-standing bath, and comfortable bed were the highlights. Great location for long walks in the countryside, but very accessible too, and plenty to do around. Jon was very communicative, accommodating and friendly - I felt very safe, and couldn't have asked for a better host. I can't wait for my next visit!

Great stay at Orton hall, I would highly recommend. Victor is a perfect host with quick and helpful responses. A wonderful location and great stay over a stormy February half term...... spring/summer must be really beautiful. Will definitely visit again!

This is worth the visit for adults looking for a quiet break. Beautiful property in a lovely location. The local pub is lovely and West Cumbria has a lot to offer. We will be back

Orton Hall is amazing. The location is so scenic, peaceful, and quiet. We really enjoyed our four nights in "the castle". Really recommend to anyone who wants a break from everyday life. There is a washer and dryer in the building which really makes things easier, especially traveling with children.

Great location, great place. Highly recommended! There are a few other suits rented to other guests, but it feels like you have the entire place to yourself.

We loved our stay at Millers Rest. Although it was a quick work visit, I felt very relaxed in the cottage and really enjoyed our short time there. The freshly baked scones on arrival were a lovely touch after a long drive up there too! Thanks for a lovely stay and thanks again for the dog lead loan!

Lovely place, lots of character and great location.

Such a beautiful spot for a lakes getaway with my 5 year old son. Lovely host that even left us freshly baked cupcakes on arrival. We loved that it was off beaten tourist track. It was the perfect location to get everywhere we wanted to go but quiet, quaint and beautiful. Its very close to Orton which is a lovely little village with a couple nice cafes, chocolate factory, and a good pub. There were some games, puzzles and loads of dvds if you are into staying in, but we spent the few days there touring around all the gorgeous outdoors stuff around and it was the worst weather imaginable. Highly recommended no matter what the weather. Would love to go back.

If you're looking for somewhere secluded and quiet and don't mind driving to different areas in the lake district then this place is perfect. Books, dvds, game boards all there with a nice welcoming gift.

Superb place

Where to start....From start to finish Claire has been the absolute perfect host. Quick with responses, very informative and helpful and just couldn’t do enough for us and our dogs whilst we celebrated our joint birthday. The cottage is lovely and cosy with everything you need and we even got a homemade birthday cake each with candle which was a wonderful touch. Unfortunately our wonderful weekend ended in disaster on our way home due to the floods and us needing to be towed 87 miles back home. Claire very kindly picked us back up and let us stay in the cottage until recovery arrived and even fed and watered us. After waiting for hours we asked if we could pay to stay an extra night as it was rather late and Claire happily allowed us and even took us back to the car to pick up essentials. Overall a super hostess who we cannot thank enough and will certainly recommend to friends and family. We hope to be back but without the same outcome as this time!! The property was ideally located for a weekend away. Claire was a brilliant host, left us lots of information of things to do in the area. Including dog friendly options. The scones on arrival were a lovey touch too. Would recommend to anyone and we can’t wait to stay again!

Juliette's cottage is beautiful and so homely. It is perfectly situated for a break from everyday life, and an easy 20 minute walk to kirkby Stephen for the restaurants and pubs. The eggs and milk left were so thoughtful and the house was warm and comfortable. Thankyou for a wonderful stay - we will be back

What a little gem this cottage is, sparkling clean, superb location, extremely quiet and only about a 10 minute walk to Kirkby Stephen. We were so comfortable there, great storage heating meant the cottage was super toasty all day and evening, much needed as it was cold and snowy outside. Juliette has thought of everything to make your stay a home from home, she even left dog biscuits for Bella, nuts so we could feed the red squirrel and seed to feed the birds! We were luckily enough on our last morning to see the red squirrel, super cute! Can't recommend this place enough. Thanks so much!

We had a fab few days at the cottage just after New Year. What a great place to explore some fantastic walks to blow away the cobwebs. The cottage is really homely and peaceful as well as being spotlessly clean. We played games and read books and just chilled by the fire most evenings. Juliette also helped us out when we left a few things behind, a really great host.

The cottage was spacious, spotlessly clean, warm and welcoming. It is a perfect place to recharge the batteries. I would highly recommend a stay here. Excellent communication from Juliette. A proper little gem. Thank you.

This is a perfectly peaceful, superbly equipped cottage tucked away in a small hamlet next to a bubbling stream... and only a 5 minute walk from the main town

When you stay at Tom's house you will get an informative, relaxed and helpful host in a clean, tidy and warm house. Access to a large kitchen, living room and bathroom. The town could not be more conveniently located for getting either a take away or a meal in one of the pubs, all a short walk away. It is also a real pretty town with many other interesting shops etc

Tom was incredibly friendly and helpful with his responses. His place was clean and well situated in the centre of town, with easy parking. We ended up having the whole house to ourselves as he was away for the weekend and the other room wasn’t booked, which was a real bonus!

My son and I had a great stay at Tom’s place in Kirkby Stephen.Tom was away for the weekend but he left clear instructions as to how to find and get into the house. We were able to use his kitchen and dining area and being keen walkers there was plenty of useful information on local walks if we had needed it. We, however, were on a mission to climb the four 2,000 ft hills in the Warcop military area ( just up the road in the Northern Pennines AONB) which is only open to the public on a few Sundays in the year. This is an excellent location for exploring the Dales, Pennines and Eastern fringes of the Lakes. The house was spotlessly clean and tidy and we had use of the bathroom next to the bedroom. Another couple arrived after us and occupied the top floor double bedroom. We enjoyed breakfast with them and had a lot in common. We highly recommend this lovely house to others.

I had a great and very relaxed stay at Tom's place. Easy access via keybox (although Tom was just leaving as I arrived). Nice room, great facilities and great communications! Great location for access to the Lakes. Made even better by us realising we'd meet before! Thank you for a lovely weekend!

Tom is a very welcoming and relaxed host. We turned up pretty wet with muddy boots but was t an issue. Pot of tea on arrival w6a massively welcome. Chat around the table was fun as well. We had twin room with shared bathroom. All very clean and tidy. Tom was very easygoing and left us to help ourselves to breakfast and tea and leave when we were ready. Highly recommended

Great place to stay. Just off the front street. Everything you need inside and nice and clean. We were there for 3 nights and never heard a thing. Highly recommended.

Anna was a great host & let us in slightly earlier than the normal check in, which was great & meant we got to meet her & get some local tips! Great location in the center of town, but still really peaceful & country like - with the log burner. Shower was fab & really powerful, there was also a full sized roll top bath. The cottage was actually deceptively spacious! We had a great time & can also vouch for the quality of the local shops - we bought Sunday lunch items from the local butchers & green grocers - which were very tasty. My partner also bought a pair of walking boots from the outdoors shop. So lots of variety & quality :)

Anna's place was perfect for our needs being dog focussed. It's very quaint and comfortable, brilliant range of equipment in kitchen. Also location is fabulous, a lovely town amidst stunning scenery.

Anna’s place was perfect, quirky, cute and lots of character! It’s location is perfect for walking. We find it hard to get a place, particularly a place like Anna’s that will accept dogs! Log burner is fab, our dogs loved laying infront of it! Cute micro pub next door and the landlords are really helpful. We will for sure return!

The cottage had everything we needed for a little romantic getaway after seeing family further north. We loved the huge, comfy bed and the view over the river. The fire kept us warm during the stormy weather. Thank you for having us!

The cottage was lovely and cosy. There was a log burner and plenty of heating although we were very lucky with the weather. The locals are lovely and it is close to a couple of pubs. The check in was very easy. There was a lovely balcony which we sat on and enjoyed a bacon sandwich on from the local cafe in the morning. The only criticism is the stairs are very steep but no problem if you are fit and healthy. Overall would thoroughly recommend

My husband and I booked into Emanuela's cottage in Brough last minute as an extension to our honeymoon. Brough was a lovely little village with just a few pubs, a shop and chippy in. There was some lovely walks just at the end of the street and the house backed onto a little stream with a little waterfall at the bottom. The cottage had a little balcony attached that looks over the stream which we enjoyed sitting on while eating breakfast in the morning. The cottage itself had everything you could possibly need and we cooked tea + breakfast there. The house is also really warm once you've put the heated on and we enjoyed a cosy nights sleep. Emanuela was quick at replying and gave us all information we needed for the perfect stay - she even left a little present and congrats note which was a super lovely touch! I would highly recommend staying here!

A comfortable little place, ideal for three people, in an excellent location. Very easy to get to. The beck at the back of the house is nice and we enjoyed being able to eat on the terrace. The beds are very comfortable and the facilities, heating and washing, are easy to use. Parking can be a little awkward but the neighbours are polite and helpful. If anyone wants to eat out in the village pubs or go to the chip shop they do tend to stop serving early so don't turn up at 8.30 pm and expect to be served.

Lovely little cottage sitting right next to the beck. Lovely listening to the water running past. Unfortunately the weather meant we couldn’t sit out on the decking, but with the right weather, this would be lovely! Very clean, quiet and comfortable cottage.

Place where we lived is super, spacious and very close to nature Far from the hush and close to the trees mountains and farms We loved the place so much especially Alex and her husband were very sweet and caring with us. Inexpensive, no-frills - but everything we needed for our stay and more. A nice warm welcome and thoughtful touches like a pint of milk in the fridge and a ‘welcome pack’ with recommended local pubs, places to visit, etc. They use the site for educational visits for children with special needs, so the money you’ll spend on your stay goes towards subsidising that work (also means there’s accessible facilities if you need them).

Great stay at this nice little barn. I've just told Alex she is underselling the nice included touches like bedding & towel &not included with many barns). Great communications ahead of stay & good hosting during it.

Our stay has been exacly what we were looking for for our hike in the North Pennines. Alexandra and her husband have been very nice even helping us to find a solution to an issue with our car. Fully equiped kitchen, confi beds and hot water located in the middle of nature but a very short drive to the towns around. No mobile phone signal or data available, there is wifi but the connection is very bad. It´s great to disconnect but a better wifi would be nice in order to plan routes, etc. 100% recommended.
