The Grand Holiday House Yarrawonga

JamesRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We stayed in the property for a wedding that was being held locally, and it was the perfect place for multiple couples to be able to lodge. The dual living spaces allowed everyone to relax but not be all in the one space, and the property was nicely located close to town for groceries and local coffee runs. The only thing that was a little surprising were the security cameras that have been installed in the living areas of the property. I can’t find any reference or warning on the listing or booking documents that there would be surveillance in the property. Guests who are very careful of their privacy may find this offputting. I’m not sure if they’re monitored or not, it wasn’t mentioned anywhere. Aside from that, the property was a wonderful stay and would be a great place for multiple families with kids to holiday, or a big family to spread out and have plenty of space to not drive each other nuts (too much haha!).

Beautiful 2 bedroom home with great views

Nice little modern house. Set on a hill with nice views. Everything we needed. Shame about the dry paddock and dusty Rd. Loved the fire pit and big outdoor deck. Beds comfortable.

Situated in Victoria’s high country, the King Valley is a rugged and picturesque destination known for its wine production. Due to geographic similarities with mountain regions in northern Italy, this fertile valley is home to several vineyards that specialize in Italian wine varietals such as Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, Pinot Grigio, Dolcetto, and Barbera. The area is also famous for its production of the sparkling wine, Prosecco, and is home to a renowned food and wine trail known as Prosecco Road, where you can sample a glass, along with some authentic Italian food.

Besides wine tasting, the region also offers spectacular cafes, gastropubs, and restaurants, plus a huge range of outdoor activities. The nearby Alpine National Park boasts impressive waterfalls and rock formations. It’s also full of spectacular hiking and mountain-biking trails, as well as opportunities for white-water rafting, horse riding, road cycling, canoeing, and fishing.

The winter months bring much cooler weather, and is an ideal time to enjoy log fires, hearty food, and some of the region’s renowned red wines. In June, the valley also hosts the annual Weekend Fit For A King festival, with wine tastings, food, and entertainment.
