Places to stay in Inchelium
This quiet cabin is nestled away on the southwestern slope of Dunn mountain, in northeastern Washington. It is situated on 35 acres, with a "million dollar" view of Summit Valley and the Huckleberry mountain range. It has a private, gated driveway, with easy access and plenty of parking.
  • If you like quiet and cozy this is your place. Everything you need and many more amenities then staying out at many cabins. Super nice host who is quick to respond. Place is easy to find and really provides great privacy. Already missing the quiet and the incredible views.

  • Perfect hunters cabin! Only minutes to good hunting land, and close to lake Roosevelt’s

    Michael2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • So relaxing and cozy and a perfect place to get away from the city for a few days! Our dog had more than enough space to run and play outside. My boyfriend and I didn’t want to leave! There’s a ton of kitchen amenities and we were able to cook meals without having to bring a lot of our own supplies (salt & pepper, condiments, cooking oil, plenty of pots and pans and dishes). There is a washing machine and you can hang dry your clothes by the wood stove so they dry very quickly. There is plenty of firewood for the fire pit outside as well. Tracey was very fast as responding and a great host. We wanted our privacy and that’s exactly what we got, but he messaged us making sure we were doing good and asked if we needed anything. We have AT&T and lost service about 20 minutes down the road before getting to the house and we were pretty happy about that. Our trip was worth the money and ended way too soon. I would gladly pay to spend a full week here. We will be back for sure!

  • Katharines place was just what we needed. It was secluded and peaceful. The house was incredibly well stocked with everything we could imagine. The little touches like the welcome note and Alexa loaded with information were warm and pleasant. It was clean and well decorated, oh and that soaker tub!!!! Wow! It was a fabulous weekend, we feel well taken care of. You will love your stay here!

    Jason2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Katharine’s home was exactly what we needed for a get away work week. Her home was clean, well appointed, comfortable and ready for us!! We felt welcomed and were able to relax and work or play as we needed!! The soaking tub, comfortable bed, stocked kitchen and beautiful views were all perfection!!!

    Sarah2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a nice place to call home for a few days. Out in the woods by itself. A perfect getaway. The house is charming and allows for home cooking. Wonderful attention to details, great selection of books, movies and access to cable TV. We appreciated the use of washer/dryer in house. When we arrived we found a fire warming the house, warm home made bread and a bottle of wine! The views from all the many windows are of a woodland dream. Kathy has created her own version of heaven in the woods. We went back-country skiing up at nearby Sherman Pass for a great day out in the snow. All in all a wonderful stay and would consider return one day.

    Jonah2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Kathy's place was amazing. We couldn't have asked for more. She had everything from reading material to chargers in case you forgot one for your phone. The internet was blazing fast and the s'mores, eggs and orange juice were a classic touch. The fire was warm when we got there and there was even baby soap for our toddler. I was so impressed with everything Kathy offered. She was spectacular!

    Cassandra2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay. The cabin was beautiful and spacious with many very thoughtful details, including a bottle of wine on arrival, some breakfast groceries and even a bone for our dog. The location is great and the cabin is surrounded by private, peaceful woods. Highly recommend staying here.

  • This was the best experience I’ve ever had an an Airbnb. Kathy was the most hospitable host from all the little touches, treats, homemade bread and welcoming gestures to the comfortable beds, all the supplies needed and more! Kathy responded within seconds with each conversation we had. The home was beautiful, comfortable and well stocked with everything and even more than what was needed to enjoy. The privacy is more than I imagined, with only trees and wildlife around the home. The trails behind the home were a plus too! I can’t say enough about this home and Kathy. She is a superb super host! I’m in love with this place and would recommend and come back any chance I get! Thanks so much, Kathy

Cozy 600 sq. ft. cabin in the woods. Propane fireplace, Futon/double bed table/chairs. Kitchenette. 3/4 bath, 32" TV Blu-ray w/ movies. Upstairs: two beds, king & full, 32" TV & Blu-ray...accessed by pull down stairs (250 lb weight limit). Wi-Fi is unreliable, no cable or cell coverage...so come unwind, relax & recharge. Owners live 300' away... hobby farm w/ goats, chickens. THERE IS FARM AMBIANCE. Owners have 2 large people-friendly dogs...so No Pets Allowed!
This cabin overlooks our small hobby farm and easily takes in the sights and sounds it creates. This cabin has 5 gallon hot water tank... only about 3-5 minutes of constant hot water when showering... so, get wet, then soap up... then rinse. Also... with multiple guests, you will need to space showers 20 minutes. We are about 35 minutes from 49° North Mountain Resort and 30 minutes from Lake Roosevelt. We are 15 minutes from Chewelah, 30 minutes from Colville and 1 hour from the north side of Spokane and 90 minutes to Spokane International Airport.
Our rural setting changes drastically with the seasons. It's wooded and secluded and our own little hobby farm helps set the mood. Even with the animals, it's generally quiet and relaxing and on a clear night the stars should be enjoyed.
  • Close to 49 and a comfortable place

  • You can expect an exceptionally warm welcome. This is an amazing couple. Be sure to allow for some time to let them show you around their garden and workshops, and meet their hens and very friendly cat. The space is cozy, and everything you need is right there.

    Faye2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara's place is just lovely. It's on the west side of the valley so it's a bit cooler in the afternoon than places on the east side would be. Her husband, a contractor and carpenter for 41 years, has done a wonderful job remodeling the place and making it a welcome home for Airbnb guests. Clean, quiet and comfortable, not to mention very easy access to Colville and surroundings.

April knew I was coming from Seattle and graciously shared some restaurants and had the house all dialed in so I could chill after a long drive. Thanks April. I hope my next Airbnb can live up to yours!

Experience life on a sustainable homestead! Your home away from home is a spacious yurt that comfortably fits a family or group of 3 (up to 6 if you bring sleeping bags). It has a full kitchen, half bathroom, dining area, queen size bed, sofa, desk, and wood burning stove. Right outside your doorstep is a private sauna and shower where you can relax after enjoying the great outdoors! WiFi is spotty. The yurt can get quite warm during the day in July and August but cools to 50s/low 60s at night
Our 40-acre property is located on a hillside with picturesque scenes of pastures, valleys, forests and mountains. You can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the sunset from the property. We raise sheep, chickens, and geese on our farm, all of which are free-range, so you might find them roaming outside your front door. Sustainability is important to us. The farm, including the yurt, is completely solar powered. Water comes from our well and heating is from wood sourced locally.
This is an ideal area for outdoor enthusiasts and skiers/snowboarders. We are right by Flowery Trail Road, where 49 Degrees North Mountain Ski Resort is located just 30 minutes drive. There is also good skiing in Rossland, Canada which is about 2 hours drive away (don't forget your passport!) Our backyard is the Colville National Forest, where you can enjoy great fishing, hunting, horseback riding, mountain biking, climbing, off road vehicles, and winter activities such as cross-country and downhill skiing and snowmobiling. We are nearby several lakes (Waitts Lake is well known), the Columbia River, Kettle Falls, and Sandpoint and Lake Pend O'Reille in Idaho. The town of Chewelah is just 10 minutes away, where you can find the ChewVino Wine Bar, a nice local hangout with a good selection of wines and the quaint Flowery Trail Cafe for healthy breakfast options and organic coffee. If you need recommendations, just let us know!
  • We would certainly come back. The sauna makes this an exceptional value! Clean, personal touches, beautiful farm, genuine hosts, Comfy bed, quiet, out of town but a quick drive to shops, close to 49, everything for a much needed getaway. We spent much of our time playing Card games in front of the fire while listening to music. Thanks for a great stay.

  • Wonderful getaway! Gorgeous yurt that pictures don't do justice! Ann and Kevin have a delightful experience to offer for those who need a getaway from the city and busy life. Spectacular views, friendly creatures, and a warming home to slow down and enjoy close company.

    Kerstin2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • With farm fresh eggs and a sauna ten steps from the yurt's front door, what else could you ask for?

    John2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a place close to town but completely out in the wilderness amazing view great sunsets and amazing people this is the place to go

    Sherry2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • My son and I booked the yurt on short notice and I’m so glad we did! This place is so special. The yurt itself is comfortable and beautiful. The farm is a great place to wander and decompress from noisy city life. Ann and Kevin are friendly, knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming. Our whole experience, although short, was exactly what we needed.

  • We could not of been more pleased with our stay in this lovely home! Prior to our evening arrival, the hosts had turned on the lights and warmed up the home for us. This cozy spot, nestled in a snow covered meadow just outside of town, had all the comforts of home. The basket of snacks and sweets was a nice surprise upon our arrival as well. The home is located very close to an amazing hidden jewel of a ski resort called 49° North. We found the folks in Chewelah to be very friendly and we relished the small town appeal! I highly recommend this location and the gracious hosts!!

  • Gail's place is such a gem! It is comfortable, beautifully appointed and really lovely. There is a private kitchen area, which Gail had stocked with a selection of teas , coffee and juices as well as homemade zucchini bread, bagels, cheeses etc. She made a full hot breakfast, which I didn't expect...cheesy scrambled eggs, bacon and avocado...delish. I could come and go as I pleased with a private entrance and great hiking right outside the door. She was so flexible and communicative with checking in and out. I would be happy to stay there again!

    Carol2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you enjoy a quiet and secluded getaway, with perfect hosts, at a reasonable price, this is the place!

    Dolores2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Gail is a great host and has a lovely home that she shares. You get so much space and she will help you in any way she can. She makes sure you have a comfortable place to stay and everything you might need. We would not hesitate to stay with her again if we found ourselves back in that area. It could be a little tricky getting to her place except she takes the time to meet you at the driveway to make sure you have no problem finding her home. It was very quiet and peaceful. You have not only your own kitchen and bath, but a private deck where you can enjoy that peaceful place.

This home is unique and charming with lots of room, a spacious deck, patio, BBQ, firepit, fireplaces, rec-room (with pool /ping pong table), games, and a three car garage. Nearby is the Colville National Forest, multi-use trails and several rivers and lakes – including Lake Roosevelt. Enjoy winter and summer activities. Canada only one hour drive; Idaho two hour drive.
There are three exits in the downstairs area and four exits upstairs. There is a piano in the living room and a patio door from the living room to the deck. There is a patio door in the master bedroom to the deck and a patio door to the patio from the kitchen nook area. There are cleaning supplies upstairs, as well as downstairs. There are enough supplies for a short term stay, but long term guests will have to replenish supplies, as needed.
There are homes on the west side of Madison Street and it comes to a dead end about 1 1/2 blocks north of our home. Our home is the only one on the east side of the street until you cross the road at the bottom of the street. The driveway is circular and there is plenty of parking. There are a lot of white tail deer, turkeys and quail throughout the neighborhood. The turkeys have a favorite dusting spot just east of the garage so don't be surprised by turkey feathers in that area. There is an elementary school about four blocks away and Safeway is about one mile away. The neighborhood is quiet and our home is peaceful as well as private.
  • Laurie made it very easy to book this stay for a third party. Communication was quick and thorough. The accommodations were exactly what we expected, very convenient and a great value. Thank you Laurie

    Meri2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Laurie's home was a great place to stay. It is near many outdoor activities (nature watching, hiking, etc.). In fact, I saw four deer running around the place during my stay. Having a garage available to guest was a nice feature given that it was very cold and I would have had to scrape my car windows otherwise. Laurie was a great host and responded to messages in a timely manner. I would love to stay again.

  • The house is amazing!!!! From the views and the privacy of the home, to the pool table and ping PONG, this house is so relaxing!!! Highly recommend it.

  • This was one of the best places I’ve stayed with AirBnB — and I’ve stayed in a lot of them. Laurie was super-responsive and her house had everything we needed. The morning parade of turkeys, quail and deer was pretty cool too.

  • This was the perfect spot for us for the holiday weekend! After another airbnb fell through, I was so fortunate to stumble upon Tanya's place! It was nestled up on a hill and her directions made it so easy to find even at 9pm in the dark! She was quick to respond on a holiday weekend and even gave us fresh chicken eggs which were amazing! If you are looking for a place to hunt, this is great because public land is within walking distance of the cabin and we saw so many deer and turkeys over the course of the weekend! Would definitely recommend!

  • I’m not the auto review/auto 5 star kind of guy. This is a lovely little cabin. Very accurately described and so much fun. Tanya and Tony were great hosts, great people. I spent 4 nights while the temperate dropped to around 22F. The cabin is very warm. You don’t need to put the heater on for long to get the place toasty.

    Ben2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cabin in the woods! Host was extremely helpful and great with communication. The cabin was spotless and still cute and comfy with incredible views. The space has everything you might need and more.

Our place is a beautiful and comfy home away from home. We provide a full delicious breakfast in our dining room and a refrigerator stocked with water, yogurt, and juice in your own kitchen. Try our suite with big screen tv featuring Netflix and a comfy sofa to relax or the smaller bedroom with DVD player. The bathroom is private unless both rooms are rented. There is a full upstairs kitchen for guests. We invite you to enjoy our beautiful home and would like to show you true hospitality.
Our place is nestled in the forest just a few miles from Chewelah, Washington a place for all seasons. Hiking and snowshoeing trails on the property. Relax with a good book by the fireplace or enjoy the sauna.
  • Expect very friendly hosts. They are a bit further away from the road than I thought but it wasn’t a problem, their mile long driveway was well maintained. Kitchen supplies were all there, in interesting places but everything we needed was available. Our space was private and quiet.

    Kim2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Gail went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of! Each day she prepared a delicious hot breakfast which we enjoyed with wonderful conversations. She truly made us feel at home and helped us find alternative activities when the ski hill was unexpectedly closed. We look forward to staying here again in the future!

  • The Forrest AirBnB brought true relaxation to our journey. The amenities provided were far beyond our expectations. The BnB is located in a secluded mountain setting and run by a couple committed to making a person's stay relaxing and hospitable. A wonderful place to stay. We will be back.

    Greg2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Gails home is not only Beautiful, it is peaceful. We felt like we were “Home”. I would recommend it to all of you who want more than just an AirBNB.. but to those who are looking for an EXPERIENCE !!

  • My 15 year old son and I were on a mom/kid weekend and stayed with Gail and Joe. The location is beautiful and we loved everything about it. They are amazing hosts and I felt at home with them. I will definitely stay with them again and will take advantage of breakfast the next time!

    Missy2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Gail and Jo are fantastic hosts and we enjoyed getting to know them as much as we enjoyed staying with them in their beautiful home! Our only regret is that we didn't have more time to simply relax and enjoy their place ant the location!

All three cottages have been winterized but could be reopened for use from now to December 21. If you stay more than one night no additional charge--if only one night, a $50 charge for opening and re-winterizing after you leave! "Cozy One" has two main floor bedrooms with Queens and a loft with two long twins. The bedrooms have their own sinks and bedroom B has it's own toilet. No alcohol parties, no smoking--small pets allowed.
We have three cottages, two which can sleep six (in beds--more kids on the floor if necessary) and one with one Queen in bedroom A and two Long Singles in Bedroom B. There are price adjustments if less than the entire space is used.
Beautiful setting on 40 acres with lots of mowed meadows against the backdrop of a beautiful limestone faced ridge.
  • We loved our cabin stay! Jim offered a nice discount for not using the entire space and accommodated us when we had an early arrival and when we decided to stay an extra night. The cabins are very cute and have a nice size kitchen, and each room has its own sink which is nice. The space was very cozy and the bed we used (queen) was very comfortable. There’s no service available for those who can’t do without, but If you want a total getaway this is a nice place to stay. Unfortunately we never got to meet Jim, and at times because of the lack of cell reception made communication a little difficult. Only thing missing was some paper to start a fire and we had to run to the store to get some fire starters on the night we arrived- due to cold weather the cabins do get cold without a fire going but warms up quickly with a fire. Once Jim got my message he brought us more firewood though. We will stay again in the future- this area would be even more beautiful during summer. Very cute secluded area! And deer and animals all around.

    Brianna2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jim and his wife were great hosts. The location of the property is absolutely beautiful. The house is very clean and well maintained too. The best way to navigate to this place is to use GPS coordinates rather than google maps location.

    Cherilyn2019-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Nice and clean. There is a loft in cozy one but just be prepared that the stairs aren’t kid friendly. Great size kitchen, big sectional sofa and nice rooms. Comfortable place and very remote.

    Matt2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, serene & quiet location...truly an escape! Jim's place was even better than what we hoped for. While remote, you'll definitely be comfortable. Cabin has lots of room. Highly recommend you have a meal or coffee up at the natural foods store in Kettle Falls a few miles up the road...they have a fab restaurant, deli, & coffee shop. We'd definitely return to Jim's place.

This 725 Sq. ft. cabin is perfect for a quiet get-away. It sits at the end of a long driveway nestled in the trees...out front is a wonderful pond with seasonal birds. Large upstairs bedroom w/ king bed & sitting area. Full kitchen. Full bath. Washer/dryer. Nicely furnished. 32" TV, Blu-ray player w/ movies. Wi-Fi is very unreliable, no cable or cell service... so, come relax, unwind & recharge. Our hobby farm has goats & chickens & 2 large people friendly dogs, no pets allowed.
Driving distance: Spokane 1 hour, Chewlah 15 minutes, Colville 25 minutes , 49° North Resort or Lake Roosevelt are 30 minutes close.
Our rural setting changes drastically with the seasons. It's wooded and secluded and our own little hobby farm helps set the mood. Even with the animals, it's generally quiet and relaxing and on a clear night the stars should be enjoyed.
  • Would highly recommend, we love this place.

My house is situated on 130 acres. It’s surrounded by pine trees and grassy areas. It is peaceful and beautiful. Your space is the walkout basement. It has several windows, two bedrooms, bathroom, and living space. You can also use the kitchen and laundry room upstairs. There are several decks around the house for enjoying the peace and quiet, reading a book or just relaxing. For hot summer days we have tubes you can use for floating the kettle River or you can enjoy the above ground pool.
My husband built our house so it is very custom. You will have the whole Walkout basement to yourself. There are two bedrooms, common space and one bathroom for you to use. You are welcome to use my kitchen and laundry room which are upstairs on the main level.
I love living on the mountain you will see no other houses or people when you visit me. We are on 130 acres surrounded by state land. I love the peace and quiet and beauty that surrounds my home. We have an above ground outdoor pool that you can enjoy. I also have a couple of kayaks and canoes that you can use. The nearest town is Kettle falls, and it is about 5 miles total from the house.

Enjoy a private and fully furnished guest quarters on a 305 acre working ranch, 5 miles from Lake Roosevelt. Walk/hike, read, cook (private kitchen), help with the our animals , tour our orchards/gardens, watch the sunsets with a glass of wine. Some of our guests enjoy romping through the entire outdoor areas while others just like to curl up with a book in front of the crackling wood stove.
Private ranch (goats, sheep and cows) invites you to enjoy their private guest quarters. Nearby to Washington's largest Lake (Roosevelt), a public boat launch is just 8 miles down the road. We have a mix of forests, fields, and orchards/gardens all tied together with readily accessible trails. The guesthouse is very comfortably appointed with separate kitchen and bathroom, bedroom, sitting areas, and private covered patios.
This is a very private setting with the nearest neighbor being over a mile away. Our place is a combination of fields and forest, some fenced, some not. We run cows on some of the fenced areas during the summer months and goats year-round near our barn.
  • Fantastic place to stay! Very peaceful and relaxing. I wish I had more time to enjoy the property. Very clean and well stocked. There was a nice selection of DVD's and the Wifi was good. I hope to return!

  • Jim and Rory's place is very beautiful and cozy. The welcome committee, too cute. Hosts very friendly and accommodating. Beautiful hand crafted furnishings, comfy bed and the best stocked kitchen we've seen at an Airbnb. Definitely top notch. The area is very rural and quiet.

  • Super nice place in an absolutely beautiful spot. Awesome amenities and great hosts. Can’t recommend it enough... we will be back for sure.

  • This space is truly a gem. The home itself is very well appointed and beautifully decorated with many of the first-class furnishings built by the homeowner! Then you have the magical ranch, valley and forest surrounding. My husband and I spent much of our time soaking up the view and quiet as a perfect escape from busy city life. We were even invited by Rori and Jim to meet the goats and cows and I had my first introduction to milking a goat! We would come back here in a heartbeat. It sets the gold star standard of Airbnb experience.

  • I can only echo the other reviews and share that the beauty of this place, the remoteness, and the unique farm setting made for such a special stay. This was the perfect beginning for a 2-week road trip for our Seattle family of 4. The property was so lovely, we did not leave during our 2-night stay.

Studio with queen bed, futon and floor matresses available. Located near 49 North, Chewelah Peak, Chewelah Golf Course, Chataqua Festival, Quartzite Mountain and numerous lakes, you can enjoy hiking, skiing, fishing, hunting, water sports, huckleberries, or just relaxing and breathing fresh mountain air!
  • Returned to Margene's place again for a couple of ski days at 49 Degrees North. Conveniently located 8.6 miles (easy 14-20 minute drive depending on traffic and road conditions) from the house to the ski area parking lot and less than 2 miles to downtown Chewelah. 49 Degrees North is a great little ski hill with lots to offer for Beginner to Advanced skiers; no "extreme" terrain, but great glades and tree skiing. We were finding powder pockets 3 days after a storm. In response to my comments in February 2019, Margene added wine glasses (Thanks! Too bad that we were too tired to drink wine.) As noted before, the space lives bigger than it appears in the photos. With the microwave, crockpot, fridge, and utensils, were able to eat in for breakfast and pack lunches. Nice touch to have chocolates and microwave popcorn. Again, the double shower head and jacuzzi tub were appreciated after days of skiing. Hope others are able to enjoy as much as we have!

    Charles2020-02-25T00:00:00Z

  • Margene is a wonderful host and the place is great! Very clean and cozy. There is a mini fridge, coffee pot, microwave, water cooler, plates, bowls, cups, and silverware. Access to WiFi and smart TV with Netflix and Hulu included. The bathroom is huge! I also loved all the natural light in the room. I had a short stay and wish I could have stayed longer! I will be back!

    Alexandra2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place. Quite, great view. Saw deer and turkeys in abundance. Flannel sheets were cozy!

    Dave2019-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • As others have noted, the space really does live bigger than what the photos might lead you to believe. The Bedroom/Living space is bigger than most master bedrooms, and includes a dining table/4 chairs, larger than typical hotel mini-fridge, microwave, crock pot, place settings, glasses, plenty of storage space (we had ski bags as well as regular clothes), … No actual wine glasses, so if you're picky about that, you may want to bring your own. The bathroom is also huge. The bathroom includes double sinks, a separate toilet room, a jacuzzi-tub and double shower heads that my wife especially appreciated after skiing all day. The only heads-up that I might give to other travelers is that the toilet room might be a little tight for a larger individual. There's also a separate storage area beyond the bathroom in case you need even more space. For us, the amenities and proximity to both 49 Degrees North and town were perfect and we would choose to stay here again in a heartbeat. Much nicer for us than the "traditional" motel we stayed at in Chewelah last year.

  • If you are looking for a place in the Kettle Falls area this is the place to stay! Great food, thoughtful host, beautiful environment on the river!

  • The place and hosts were very nice. They got us into the place on super short notice, and made accommodations for our extra requests. They prefer not to have pets, and I wish that was more explicit upfront. I'd give five stars but my pet is my family and I choose places based upon that.

    Bradley2019-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! They have spared no expense for the comfort and amenities available. everything was top notch quality! Sitting in the jacuzzi with river views was a great way to relax after a long day and the great breakfast and custom blend coffee was a phenomenal way to get another long day started!

  • Our stay at Riverwood was exceptional. Phil and Linda were incredible hosts, the place was spotless and Phil came and cooked us an amazing Eggs Royal for breakfast. We lucked out and had the place to ourselves. The hot tub was clean and the views of Lake were awesome. 10 out 10, will definitely stay here again!

Gated community of large acreage tracks. Mostly recreational properties. A few year around residence too. State land to the right between the two gates as you enter the community that can be hiked and hunted on (check with the state for hunters guidelines) We are near Huckleberry Mountain.
  • Wonderful place and such a beautiful area. Also, very timely response from hosts to our questions. I would recommend this to anyone ... especially if you have family with an RV and/or tents. How fabulous that this has RV hookups too! And lots and lots of space!

  • What gem of solitude. Our family enjoyed our stay. The lake access and beach there is amazing. Great place to reconnect with the kids without WiFi or TV. The calm was perfect and well appreciated. Thanks for the space and place to accomplish that.

  • Gorgeous view, peace & tranquility!

    Doreen2018-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! This little cabin in the woods is just amazing! The view is amazing, the quiet is so welcome and the beach was one of the best to visit. We were there over the Memorial Day weekend and couldn't believe how quiet the beach was. Our two dogs romped and romped and romped and then we all spent hours lounging on the deck taking in the view and reading our books. If you bring your dogs, make sure to apply a good dose of tick repellent before arriving as I wrongly thought the natural stuff would be strong enough. The ticks were only because we let them walk through the tall grasses, not a reflection on the cabin. It really is the perfect getaway for two people and their pooches, although I hope that in the future Karin might allow us to have some friends pull their RV up because it is such a special place I want to share it with our friends. We drove from Seattle and the drive is such an easy drive, that the almost five hours flew by. Thanks again and we hope to return! Mark, Nadine, Stanley & Bellatrix

    Nadine2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Loved the area so much. Only issue is we were charged extra because our dogs left hair in the cabin. No vacuum was provided. Also don't let your dog on the floor int wh cabin or you could get charged for that also. All in all a great place with no complaints. Just need to fix your "Pet Friendly" ad.

Definitely a place to go for some quiet seclusion with a loved one or for a little family getaway. We enjoyed being unplugged and just relaxing. Jonathan was very responsive and excellent at communicating. He was very helpful and we appreciated all the tips and the detailed guidebook/house manual provided.

  • The place was great! My coworkers and I were working nearby and it was a perfect setup. The cabin was great we had fires and barbecued out back most nights. Tons of wildlife moose, turkey, deer etc. my coworker is excited to go back on a hunting trip. Jon is great as well we were able to easily extend our stay and check out late when our job ran long. We just wish we had more time to try out the wood fired hot-tub and explore the area and views more.

  • This cozy cabin on beautifully peaceful property was a great getaway for our family of four. The host was very helpful giving us tips for The hunting our guys were doing. The cabin had all the necessities, with the exception of a stove/oven, but did have several hot plates and a microwave. We really enjoyed the solitude & the cozy wood stove in the mornings/ evenings. The local wine was a really sweet gesture - & it was delicious, thank you!

  • Cynthia's home is perfect for a stay in the Chewelah area! There is ample room with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths plus a bonus room for storing luggage, etc. It was quite convenient to have laundry facilities and supplies available to use. The kitchen is well equipped to make daily meals yet the home is located within walking distance to Chewelah bars/restaurants. The home is well appointed and very, very clean. Cynthia was very gracious and even provided breakfast muffins for us! This is a great place for a family for a group of friends to use as their base for all of the activities available in the Chewelah area.

    Cindy2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in Chewelah. The house is located very close to downtown. Less than 1/3rd mile. The house is very spacious and super clean. We had 6 people staying and never felt on top of each other. The kitchen is well stocked and only lacks a dishwasher. Internet access was really fast. We used the house as a home base for skiing at 49 degrees. This is considered a small mountain. However is has 6 lifts and 2,500 acres of skiable terrain. Which isn’t that small. The lifts are slow but there’s never a line and the runs are wide open for cruising. The sun was out one day and the views were awesome. Would definitely ski the hill again. It’s a 20 minute drive from the house. Cynthia is the owner and the host. She was awesome. Super friendly and left treats in the house. Which was super thoughtful and sweet. She’s newer to VRBO and doing a great job and eager to make the house better. She had great recommendations to some local restaurants. Sportys and Monica’s were delicious. Chewelah is a small rural town. So, if your coming from Seattle or a larger town set your expectations. We love to travel and see different places. We found most everyone to be really happy and accommodating. We entered Sportys at 7:45 on Sunday night. Not thinking they would close at 8:00. They were really happy to serve us. Overall we loved our stay. There’s a few (minor) things (dust pan and broom etc) that Cynthia is working on to make the house even better. But we would definitely recommend and stay again. Thanks so much Cynthia

Our rural setting changes drastically with the seasons. It's wooded and secluded and our own little hobby farm helps set the mood. Even with the animals, it's generally quiet and relaxing and on a clear night the stars should be enjoyed.
  • Great little cabin in the woods! Elaine gives great directions, everything is always neat and clean and stocked well if you want to cook your own meals.

  • Cozy cabin in the woods with privacy, highly recommended. There are two dogs out if you arrive at night that are friendly but looks a bit scary (especially when they have their teeth out).

  • I was ecstatic when I walked into Elaine's cabin. The photos don't do it justice! It's so adorable and cozy. The whole cabin was immaculately clean and had everything we could need. The temperature was warm and the beds were all comfortable. Elaine made it extra special by having an adorable little Christmas tree set up for us and putting out some toys for the kids. This location is perfect for peace and quiet. We loved seeing deer out the windows and visiting the goats! Perfect cabin experience.

  • Elaine’s Carpenter Cabin was lovely: we loved watching the sun rise over the hills and illuminate the forest, seeing the deer and turkeys wander down through the trees, and visiting the baby goats. The cabin was well-equipped with plenty of pots and pans, a wonderfully efficient electric grill, and good bed linens on all the beds. Everything was clean and fresh inside, and the setting was beautiful outside. Elaine and her husband were consummate hosts, always happy to chat about the location and their family history there. The kids loved visiting the friendly goats, especially the adorable baby goats! Thanks, Elaine, we had a marvelous time!

Stay in a modern, spacious two-floor farmhouse with a private kitchen and bathroom on a sheep farm. There is a wood stove for heat when needed during the colder months.
The farm house includes one upstairs bedroom with a bed and two floor mattresses available when needed. There is more sleeping space if sleeping bags are brought by guests. Upstairs is a bathroom with a shower attached to the claw foot tub. Several large closets are there for use. Downstairs includes a fully functioning kitchen attached to a dining room/ living room space. There is a half bathroom available off of the kitchen and mudroom. We ask that shoes are removed upon entering the farm house and suggest slippers.
We have several neighbors above us on the hill but you will generally be unaware of them. Hiking along the main road and off connecting branches may bring you walking past their small homes. The pasture may be walked if gates are kept closed.
  • We had a fantastic stay at Ann and Kevin’s Farmhouse in Chewelah. The house was clean, comfortable, well-stocked and had an amazing view. Ann and Kevin were terrific hosts who took extra time to make sure we were comfortable and happy. They provided us with lots of local places to go that we would not have found on our own. We had opportunities with our two young daughters to feed chickens and sheep, pick raspberries, cherries, and service berries. We had fresh eggs for breakfast every morning. This was a five-star stay for us and highly recommend it. We can’t wait to return!

The Ponderosa is our Master Suite.  The queen size 4-poster bed is elegantly carved and is complemented by two carved antique chairs and a beautifully engraved chest of drawers that also has a drop-down desktop, perfect for guests who needs a place to use their laptop computers.  There are extra pillows and blankets, as well as two luxurious robes for guests to enjoy on the way to the hot tub on the downstairs patio.  The hot tub area is generally very private, especially after dark, and we invite our guests to decide whether bathing suits are required or not. Room rate is based on double occupancy of the queen bed.  We have an air mattress that can be added.  For a third occupant in the room, we charge an extra $35.  This cost covers the extra breakfast, setup/takedown of the air mattress, and laundering the extra linens.
NOTE:  We have two distinct houses with rooms.  Riverwood is at 7 Riverwood Circle, and Lakeview is 1/10th mile up the road at 60 Columbia Drive.  Riverwood has a permitted kitchen, so we are able to serve breakfast there.  Lakeview does not have a commercial kitchen, so no breakfast is offered.  Currently, Riverwood is the only house with a hot tub.  Both houses have 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.  Riverwood house: the 3 big rooms have a comfortable queen-size bed, plenty of storage for luggage, and anything else you may need for a relaxing stay.  The White Pine room has a double bed and lots of closet space.  We invite our guests to enjoy the outdoor hot tub, (robes provided), the breathtaking view from the large deck overlooking Lake Roosevelt, and the comfortably appointed living and dining rooms. The kitchen is fully equipped, should you wish to prepare a quick heated snack, a full meal, or just keep foods either warm or cold. There is a laundry room available, should you need one.  We offer hi-speed WiFi and an entertainment library of popular DVDs and books, along with a Smart TV, AppleTV, and DVD player for your convenience.  Streaming services, such as Netflix, YouTube, and Hulu are available, however no satellite or cable service. Lakeview house: a quiet forested retreat with a view of the lake through the trees.  The 2 upstairs rooms each have a queen bed.  Island Room is very large and has bathroom en suite and a sliding door to the deck.  Rose Room is quiet and cozy with a view of the woods and has its own bathroom next door to the bedroom.  Birdsong "suite" is downstairs, consisting of 1 queen size bed in the large room and a double bed in the smaller room with a door to close and a view of the lake from under the deck.  There is one bathroom between these 2 rooms.  Lakeview has satellite hi-speed internet service and a Roku TV with Netflix and streaming services.  There is a collection of vintage books and some jigsaw puzzles, too. Room rates are based on double occupancy.  We have a twin size air mattress that can be added to a room for a third occupant.  Extra occupant fee is $35 for Riverwood, $15 for Lakeview. Riverwood is proud to honor GSA per diem rates for guests who are on authroized GSA travel (only continental breakfast provided). We also accept GSA travel cards for both taxable and non-taxable charges. We look forward to working with your agency. • We had a marvellous stay at Riverwood; the hosts were really warm and welcoming and we felt truly at home. The bed was comfy, the furniture was comfy and the hot tub was a great touch as we listened to the waves lap against the shore. We'd definitely go back.
