Perfect hunters cabin! Only minutes to good hunting land, and close to lake Roosevelt’s

So relaxing and cozy and a perfect place to get away from the city for a few days! Our dog had more than enough space to run and play outside. My boyfriend and I didn’t want to leave! There’s a ton of kitchen amenities and we were able to cook meals without having to bring a lot of our own supplies (salt & pepper, condiments, cooking oil, plenty of pots and pans and dishes). There is a washing machine and you can hang dry your clothes by the wood stove so they dry very quickly. There is plenty of firewood for the fire pit outside as well. Tracey was very fast as responding and a great host. We wanted our privacy and that’s exactly what we got, but he messaged us making sure we were doing good and asked if we needed anything. We have AT&T and lost service about 20 minutes down the road before getting to the house and we were pretty happy about that. Our trip was worth the money and ended way too soon. I would gladly pay to spend a full week here. We will be back for sure!

Very great place to stay.

The natural light that shines through the living space makes morning coffees 10 times better! Amazing views from every window with warm heat from a wood stove! Super quiet calm area, and the bathtub is so huge!! With a water heater that fills it to the rim with toasty hot water! I tell you what, if you want to relax do it just book this place!! So worth it!

Katharines place was just what we needed. It was secluded and peaceful. The house was incredibly well stocked with everything we could imagine. The little touches like the welcome note and Alexa loaded with information were warm and pleasant. It was clean and well decorated, oh and that soaker tub!!!! Wow! It was a fabulous weekend, we feel well taken care of. You will love your stay here!

Katharine’s home was exactly what we needed for a get away work week. Her home was clean, well appointed, comfortable and ready for us!! We felt welcomed and were able to relax and work or play as we needed!! The soaking tub, comfortable bed, stocked kitchen and beautiful views were all perfection!!!

This is such a nice place to call home for a few days. Out in the woods by itself. A perfect getaway. The house is charming and allows for home cooking. Wonderful attention to details, great selection of books, movies and access to cable TV. We appreciated the use of washer/dryer in house. When we arrived we found a fire warming the house, warm home made bread and a bottle of wine! The views from all the many windows are of a woodland dream. Kathy has created her own version of heaven in the woods. We went back-country skiing up at nearby Sherman Pass for a great day out in the snow. All in all a wonderful stay and would consider return one day.

Our stay at Kathy's place was amazing. We couldn't have asked for more. She had everything from reading material to chargers in case you forgot one for your phone. The internet was blazing fast and the s'mores, eggs and orange juice were a classic touch. The fire was warm when we got there and there was even baby soap for our toddler. I was so impressed with everything Kathy offered. She was spectacular!

Wonderful stay. The cabin was beautiful and spacious with many very thoughtful details, including a bottle of wine on arrival, some breakfast groceries and even a bone for our dog. The location is great and the cabin is surrounded by private, peaceful woods. Highly recommend staying here.

This was the best experience I’ve ever had an an Airbnb. Kathy was the most hospitable host from all the little touches, treats, homemade bread and welcoming gestures to the comfortable beds, all the supplies needed and more! Kathy responded within seconds with each conversation we had. The home was beautiful, comfortable and well stocked with everything and even more than what was needed to enjoy. The privacy is more than I imagined, with only trees and wildlife around the home. The trails behind the home were a plus too! I can’t say enough about this home and Kathy. You can expect an exceptionally warm welcome. This is an amazing couple. Be sure to allow for some time to let them show you around their garden and workshops, and meet their hens and very friendly cat. The space is cozy, and everything you need is right there.

Barbara's place is just lovely. It's on the west side of the valley so it's a bit cooler in the afternoon than places on the east side would be. Her husband, a contractor and carpenter for 41 years, has done a wonderful job remodeling the place and making it a welcome home for Airbnb guests. Clean, quiet and comfortable, not to mention very easy access to Colville and surroundings.

April was a kind and communicative host. Staying in her home felt as though we were staying with family in thier home. The energy cultivated by April in this home was perfect for our trip to visit my family. The fireplace was the perfect bonus. We will defintely stay again!

My son and I booked the yurt on short notice and I’m so glad we did! This place is so special. The yurt itself is comfortable and beautiful. The farm is a great place to wander and decompress from noisy city life. Ann and Kevin are friendly, knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming. Our whole experience, although short, was exactly what we needed.

We could not of been more pleased with our stay in this lovely home! Prior to our evening arrival, the hosts had turned on the lights and warmed up the home for us. This cozy spot, nestled in a snow covered meadow just outside of town, had all the comforts of home. The basket of snacks and sweets was a nice surprise upon our arrival as well. The home is located very close to an amazing hidden jewel of a ski resort called 49° North. We found the folks in Chewelah to be very friendly and we relished the small town appeal! I highly recommend this location and the gracious hosts!!

This was the perfect spot for our ski weekend with our family. Cozy, warm, and close to 49 and all the Chewelah town shops. It is a beautiful part of town and provided a quiet and peaceful getaway.

The VIEW is amazing! Being winter time, the snowy mountains were beautiful. Very cozy little place that felt like home. The kids are already asking me to go back.

Beautiful location outside of town. Fun to see the fields and trees and wildlife. Just a quick drive to town or other activities. Was a great quiet place for our family to be over Christmas!

Thoughtful touches, welcoming snacks that included treats for our dog, a peaceful stay, great internet, wonderful pond, and a very clean home. I would stay here again and reccomend you do, too.

Much more affordable and is a cooler place to stay compared to Winona Beach Resort, and has an awesome hot tub!

Gail's place is such a gem! It is comfortable, beautifully appointed and really lovely. There is a private kitchen area, which Gail had stocked with a selection of teas , coffee and juices as well as homemade zucchini bread, bagels, cheeses etc. She made a full hot breakfast, which I didn't expect...cheesy scrambled eggs, bacon and avocado...delish. I could come and go as I pleased with a private entrance and great hiking right outside the door. She was so flexible and communicative with checking in and out. I would be happy to stay there again!

Gail is a great host and has a lovely home that she shares. You get so much space and she will help you in any way she can. She makes sure you have a comfortable place to stay and everything you might need. We would not hesitate to stay with her again if we found ourselves back in that area. It could be a little tricky getting to her place except she takes the time to meet you at the driveway to make sure you have no problem finding her home. It was very quiet and peaceful. You have not only your own kitchen and bath, but a private deck where you can enjoy that peaceful place.

A little difficult to find, if you're unsure give them a call from an area that has cell coverage before you get there.

It was a great place to stay for work. very quiet so bring a good book. loved looking out to the lake as I lay on the couch and watch the boaters.

Laurie's home was a great place to stay. It is near many outdoor activities (nature watching, hiking, etc.). In fact, I saw four deer running around the place during my stay. Having a garage available to guest was a nice feature given that it was very cold and I would have had to scrape my car windows otherwise. Laurie was a great host and responded to messages in a timely manner. I would love to stay again.

This was one of the best places I’ve stayed with AirBnB — and I’ve stayed in a lot of them. Laurie was super-responsive and her house had everything we needed. The morning parade of turkeys, quail and deer was pretty cool too.

Tanya's space is neat, clean, and close to town. The views are phenomenal. I would recommend that your vehicle have 4WD if you're planning a stay during winter.

This was the perfect spot for us for the holiday weekend! After another airbnb fell through, I was so fortunate to stumble upon Tanya's place! It was nestled up on a hill and her directions made it so easy to find even at 9pm in the dark! She was quick to respond on a holiday weekend and even gave us fresh chicken eggs which were amazing! If you are looking for a place to hunt, this is great because public land is within walking distance of the cabin and we saw so many deer and turkeys over the course of the weekend! Would definitely recommend!

I’m not the auto review/auto 5 star kind of guy. This is a lovely little cabin. Very accurately described and so much fun. Tanya and Tony were great hosts, great people. I spent 4 nights while the temperate dropped to around 22F. The cabin is very warm. You don’t need to put the heater on for long to get the place toasty.

Expect very friendly hosts. They are a bit further away from the road than I thought but it wasn’t a problem, their mile long driveway was well maintained. Kitchen supplies were all there, in interesting places but everything we needed was available. Our space was private and quiet.

Gail went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of! Each day she prepared a delicious hot breakfast which we enjoyed with wonderful conversations. She truly made us feel at home and helped us find alternative activities when the ski hill was unexpectedly closed. We look forward to staying here again in the future!

The Forrest AirBnB brought true relaxation to our journey. The amenities provided were far beyond our expectations. The BnB is located in a secluded mountain setting and run by a couple committed to making a person's stay relaxing and hospitable. A wonderful place to stay. We will be back.

Gails home is not only Beautiful, it is peaceful. We felt like we were “Home”. I would recommend it to all of you who want more than just an AirBNB.. but to those who are looking for an EXPERIENCE !!

My 15 year old son and I were on a mom/kid weekend and stayed with Gail and Joe. The location is beautiful and we loved everything about it. They are amazing hosts and I felt at home with them. I will definitely stay with them again and will take advantage of breakfast the next time!

Longer dirt road than I expected. When Gail graciously offers to meet you at the mini store right off Bluecreek Rd...take her up on it! Such a cute space and very sweet people to share the space with.

We loved our cabin stay! Jim offered a nice discount for not using the entire space and accommodated us when we had an early arrival and when we decided to stay an extra night. The cabins are very cute and have a nice size kitchen, and each room has its own sink which is nice. The space was very cozy and the bed we used (queen) was very comfortable. There’s no service available for those who can’t do without, but If you want a total getaway this is a nice place to stay. Unfortunately we never got to meet Jim, and at times because of the lack of cell reception made communication a little difficult. Only thing missing was some paper to start a fire and we had to run to the store to get some fire starters on the night we arrived- due to cold weather the cabins do get cold without a fire going but warms up quickly with a fire. Once Jim got my message he brought us more firewood though. We will stay again in the future- this area would be even more beautiful during summer. Very cute secluded area! And deer and animals all around.

Jim and his wife were great hosts. The location of the property is absolutely beautiful. The house is very clean and well maintained too. The best way to navigate to this place is to use GPS coordinates rather than google maps location.

If you want to be away from it all, this is where to go. Beautiful scenery, wonderful hosts, and quiet comfortable cabin.

Nice and clean. There is a loft in cozy one but just be prepared that the stairs aren’t kid friendly. Great size kitchen, big sectional sofa and nice rooms. Comfortable place and very remote.

Beautiful, serene & quiet location...truly an escape! Jim's place was even better than what we hoped for. While remote, you'll definitely be comfortable. Cabin has lots of room. Highly recommend you have a meal or coffee up at the natural foods store in Kettle Falls a few miles up the road...they have a fab restaurant, deli, & coffee shop. We'd definitely return to Jim's place.

Very welcome experience

Perfect for a hunting trip or just a weekend get away from it all. We unplugged and relaxed. Chewelah is the perfect distance for a bite to eat or drinks.

What a place! We were looking for something last minute in an area off the beaten path for a hunting trip and Elaine's cabin was a perfect fit. I will definitely return next year and maybe bring the family in the spring to feed the baby goats. Thanks again!

This cabin was bigger than expected and very comfortably accommodated my family of four plus my sister-in-law. Elaine had set up a high chair and a pack n play for our 8-month-old so we had everything we needed. She gave immediate replies to questions and even brought over warm cookies. Very pleased with our stay.

This space is truly a gem. The home itself is very well appointed and beautifully decorated with many of the first-class furnishings built by the homeowner! Then you have the magical ranch, valley and forest surrounding. My husband and I spent much of our time soaking up the view and quiet as a perfect escape from busy city life. We were even invited by Rori and Jim to meet the goats and cows and I had my first introduction to milking a goat! We would come back here in a heartbeat. It sets the gold star standard of Airbnb experience.

I can only echo the other reviews and share that the beauty of this place, the remoteness, and the unique farm setting made for such a special stay. This was the perfect beginning for a 2-week road trip for our Seattle family of 4. The property was so lovely, we did not leave during our 2-night stay.

Grahm anticipated our need for walks and Spencer supplied cute. Amazing place and cabin... a perfect place to unwind urself

Returned to Margene's place again for a couple of ski days at 49 Degrees North. Conveniently located 8.6 miles (easy 14-20 minute drive depending on traffic and road conditions) from the house to the ski area parking lot and less than 2 miles to downtown Chewelah. 49 Degrees North is a great little ski hill with lots to offer for Beginner to Advanced skiers; no "extreme" terrain, but great glades and tree skiing. We were finding powder pockets 3 days after a storm. In response to my comments in February 2019, Margene added wine glasses (Thanks! Too bad that we were too tired to drink wine.) As noted before, the space lives bigger than it appears in the photos. With the microwave, crockpot, fridge, and utensils, were able to eat in for breakfast and pack lunches. Nice touch to have chocolates and microwave popcorn. Again, the double shower head and jacuzzi tub were appreciated after days of skiing. Hope others are able to enjoy as much as we have!

Margene is a wonderful host and the place is great! Very clean and cozy. There is a mini fridge, coffee pot, microwave, water cooler, plates, bowls, cups, and silverware. Access to WiFi and smart TV with Netflix and Hulu included. The bathroom is huge! I also loved all the natural light in the room. I had a short stay and wish I could have stayed longer! I will be back!

As others have noted, the space really does live bigger than what the photos might lead you to believe. The Bedroom/Living space is bigger than most master bedrooms, and includes a dining table/4 chairs, larger than typical hotel mini-fridge, microwave, crock pot, place settings, glasses, plenty of storage space (we had ski bags as well as regular clothes), … No actual wine glasses, so if you're picky about that, you may want to bring your own. The bathroom is also huge. The bathroom includes double sinks, a separate toilet room, a jacuzzi-tub and double shower heads that my wife especially appreciated after skiing all day. The only heads-up that I might give to other travelers is that the toilet room might be a little tight for a larger individual. There's also a separate storage area beyond the bathroom in case you need even more space. For us, the amenities and proximity to both 49 Degrees North and town were perfect and we would choose to stay here again in a heartbeat. Much nicer for us than the "traditional" motel we stayed at in Chewelah last year.

If you are looking for a place in the Kettle Falls area this is the place to stay! Great food, thoughtful host, beautiful environment on the river!

The place and hosts were very nice. They got us into the place on super short notice, and made accommodations for our extra requests. They prefer not to have pets, and I wish that was more explicit upfront. I'd give five stars but my pet is my family and I choose places based upon that.

Great place to stay! They have spared no expense for the comfort and amenities available. everything was top notch quality! Sitting in the jacuzzi with river views was a great way to relax after a long day and the great breakfast and custom blend coffee was a phenomenal way to get another long day started!

Our stay at Riverwood was exceptional. Phil and Linda were incredible hosts, the place was spotless and Phil came and cooked us an amazing Eggs Royal for breakfast. We lucked out and had the place to ourselves. The hot tub was clean and the views of Lake were awesome. 10 out 10, will definitely stay here again!

Had a great stay in a very comfy bed and enjoyed the sunset over the lake. The next morning we had a spectacular breakfast and felt very spoiled! We definitely return if we’re in the Kettle Falls area!

Gorgeous view, peace & tranquility!

Wow! This little cabin in the woods is just amazing! The view is amazing, the quiet is so welcome and the beach was one of the best to visit. We were there over the Memorial Day weekend and couldn't believe how quiet the beach was. Our two dogs romped and romped and romped and then we all spent hours lounging on the deck taking in the view and reading our books. If you bring your dogs, make sure to apply a good dose of tick repellent before arriving as I wrongly thought the natural stuff would be strong enough. The ticks were only because we let them walk through the tall grasses, not a reflection on the cabin. It really is the perfect getaway for two people and their pooches, although I hope that in the future Karin might allow us to have some friends pull their RV up because it is such a special place I want to share it with our friends. Great place to stay. Loved the area so much. Only issue is we were charged extra because our dogs left hair in the cabin. No vacuum was provided. Also don't let your dog on the floor int wh cabin or you could get charged for that also. All in all a great place with no complaints. Just need to fix your "Pet Friendly" ad.

Perfect house for a weekend in Kettle Falls! It’s right on the water and has a large yard. We spent a lot of time outside and playing yard games.

The owners went out of thier way to accommodate us and our small wedding to be held at the property. They were very available when needed and attentive. The location is an amazing spot on the Roosevelt and is perfect for family gatherings.

Great location, like being in a hotel, comfy and homely. Kitchen and coffee great. Could not really hear the power station across the water. Good access for Colville and Kettle Falls, local history good too. Linda met us and answered all our queries.

The cabin was clean, cute, and comfortable and we loved that the property was very green-friendly. Definitely a place to go for some quiet seclusion with a loved one or for a little family getaway. We enjoyed being unplugged and just relaxing. Jonathan was very responsive and excellent at communicating. He was very helpful and we appreciated all the tips and the detailed guidebook/house manual provided.

These cabins were perfect for our large family on our road trip! Our 4 girls loved the lofts, and our teens loved the hiking! It slept all 10 of us comfortably. The peaceful experience for us at this beautiful location was a definite highlight of our trip. Jonathan was exceptional at all points of communication. We would love to come back again! :)

Great time!

Beautiful location and great for a large group. Bring a stove if you plan to cook a lot. There are hot plates but the off grid cabin can't have too much electric usage at once.

The place was great! My coworkers and I were working nearby and it was a perfect setup. The cabin was great we had fires and barbecued out back most nights. Tons of wildlife moose, turkey, deer etc. my coworker is excited to go back on a hunting trip. Jon is great as well we were able to easily extend our stay and check out late when our job ran long. We just wish we had more time to try out the wood fired hot-tub and explore the area and views more.

This cozy cabin on beautifully peaceful property was a great getaway for our family of four. The host was very helpful giving us tips for The hunting our guys were doing. The cabin had all the necessities, with the exception of a stove/oven, but did have several hot plates and a microwave. We really enjoyed the solitude & the cozy wood stove in the mornings/ evenings. The local wine was a really sweet gesture - & it was delicious, thank you!

Absolutely wonderful place! Private, secluded, and gorgeous scenery. Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay if you love the outdoors!

What a lovely space!!! Stunning sun rises across the valley, deer and turkeys walking through the yard. Jan and Pinky were very welcoming and told us where to find all the hidden powder pockets at the ski hill! The apartment was super cute with plenty of space, nice fire place, great little kitchen with everything we needed. Highly recommended! We’ll be back!

Cynthia's home is perfect for a stay in the Chewelah area! There is ample room with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths plus a bonus room for storing luggage, etc. It was quite convenient to have laundry facilities and supplies available to use. The kitchen is well equipped to make daily meals yet the home is located within walking distance to Chewelah bars/restaurants. The home is well appointed and very, very clean. Cynthia was very gracious and even provided breakfast muffins for us! This is a great place for a family for a group of friends to use as their base for all of the activities available in the Chewelah area.

We loved our stay in Chewelah. The house is located very close to downtown. Less than 1/3rd mile. The house is very spacious and super clean. We had 6 people staying and never felt on top of each other. The kitchen is well stocked and only lacks a dishwasher. Internet access was really fast. We used the house as a home base for skiing at 49 degrees. This is considered a small mountain. However is has 6 lifts and 2,500 acres of skiable terrain. Which isn’t that small. The lifts are slow but there’s never a line and the runs are wide open for cruising. The sun was out one day and the views were awesome. Would definitely ski the hill again. It’s a 20 minute drive from the house. Cynthia is the owner and the host. She was awesome. Super friendly and left treats in the house. Which was super thoughtful and sweet. She’s newer to VRBO and doing a great job and eager to make the house better. She had great recommendations to some local restaurants. Sportys and Monica’s were delicious. Chewelah is a small rural town. So, if your coming from Seattle or a larger town set your expectations. We love to travel and see different places. We found most everyone to be really happy and accommodating. We entered Sportys at 7:45 on Sunday night. Not thinking they would close at 8:00. They were really happy to serve us. Overall we loved our stay. There’s a few (minor) things (dust pan and broom etc) that Cynthia is working on to make the house even better. But we would definitely recommend and stay again. House was warm and clean when we arrived. Close enough to downtown but far enough away at the same time. Would stay here again.

Great little cabin in the woods! Elaine gives great directions, everything is always neat and clean and stocked well if you want to cook your own meals.

Cozy cabin in the woods with privacy, highly recommended. There are two dogs out if you arrive at night that are friendly but looks a bit scary (especially when they have their teeth out).

I was ecstatic when I walked into Elaine's cabin. The photos don't do it justice! It's so adorable and cozy. The whole cabin was immaculately clean and had everything we could need. The temperature was warm and the beds were all comfortable. Elaine made it extra special by having an adorable little Christmas tree set up for us and putting out some toys for the kids. This location is perfect for peace and quiet. We loved seeing deer out the windows and visiting the goats! Perfect cabin experience.

Very well set up! Beautiful little cabin with all the right amenities! There were even five white tail deer hanging around during our stay.

The cabin was cozy, warm and with thoughtful touches. Bed was comfy. Great hospitality.

Great place to stay in the trees!

Such a great location if you are looking for relaxation! Elaine was an amazing host and even went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. You are greeted by a couple very friendly pups.. and may even see some wildlife like we did. One of my favourite Airbnb places to date.

Elaine’s Carpenter Cabin was lovely: we loved watching the sun rise over the hills and illuminate the forest, seeing the deer and turkeys wander down through the trees, and visiting the baby goats. The cabin was well-equipped with plenty of pots and pans, a wonderfully efficient electric grill, and good bed linens on all the beds. Everything was clean and fresh inside, and the setting was beautiful outside. Elaine and her husband were consummate hosts, always happy to chat about the location and their family history there. The kids loved visiting the friendly goats, especially the adorable baby goats! Thanks, Elaine, we had a marvelous time!

We had a fantastic stay at Ann and Kevin’s Farmhouse in Chewelah. The house was clean, comfortable, well-stocked and had an amazing view. Ann and Kevin were terrific hosts who took extra time to make sure we were comfortable and happy. They provided us with lots of local places to go that we would not have found on our own. We had opportunities with our two young daughters to feed chickens and sheep, pick raspberries, cherries, and service berries. We had fresh eggs for breakfast every morning. This was a five-star stay for us and highly recommend it. We can’t wait to return!

Nancy is an amazing host. She is very thoughtful,friendly, and was able to share wonderful things about Chewwlah. She introduced us to a few local residents, which made our stay so enjoyable. We saw a few white tail deer run through the yard. So cute. A great place to stay and a great host.

Nancy's place is magical. I only got to make a quick stop during a business trip, but I would love to return when I could fully enjoy her warm hospitality and beautiful location to it's fullest. Nancy was a lovely host and the space is as warm and inviting as she is. I slept wonderfully in the big comfy bed and hope to return again someday when I don't have to spend all my time working!

There is no exaggeration on the million dollar view. Both the location and the accommodations are lovely and comfortable. I often have trouble sleeping and in this retreat setting, I got a fabulous night sleep each night. We would recommend Nancy as a friendly, respectful and helpful host and her amazing space to anyone looking for a stylish, comfortable and beautiful country setting.

Clean and welcoming home in a great location. Literally a stone's throw from Lake Roosevelt, the view is breathtaking. Clean and comfortable, Linda and Phil go the extra mile to make everything great.

Great spot to stay as we explored the Pacific Northwest. We literally felt "at home" while we were there. Phil was eager to make our stay as comfortable as possible. He is also very knowledgeable on local history! The view of the resevior is outstanding and breakfast was awesome to boot.

Phil and Linda, Your air B n B was a beautiful, clean, comfortable stay. We really enjoyed the time of conversation and sharing with Phil and Linda during breakfast preparation. Awesome breakfast ! Most of all it was a quiet, romantic time for myself and me little lady !

We had a marvellous stay at Riverwood; the hosts were really warm and welcoming and we felt truly at home. The bed was comfy, the furniture was comfy and the hot tub was a great touch as we listened to the waves lap against the shore. We'd definitely go back.

Beautiful location right on Lake Roosevelt. Phil and Linda were great! They were easy to work with and understanding with changing plans. No better place for a night in the Kettle Falls area.

Top drawer! We had a marvelous time at Riverwood. Our hosts were delightful, breakfasts were amazing, our room was enchanting and very comfortable, the deck commanded many lazy hours, pure peace and relaxation! Phil, Linda and Joy gifted in the art of inn-keeping. They've created a true gem in their beautiful region. No doubt about it.....we'll return!
