Places to stay in Hogsback
My cozy yet spacious rustic eco-cabin is nestled in the Hogsback Mountains with a spectacular view of the three Hogs as well as Tor Doone. Affectionately named the Fox Den, the cabin is located on my small holding, Wild Fox Hill. The cabin is completely off the grid and is well positioned to enjoy beautiful morning and afternoon light. In the summer enjoy bonfires and outside baths under starry skies. Winters have frosty mornings, falling snow and roaring fires. Come and explore the mountains!
Wild Fox Hill is a home of berries, fruit and indigenous trees, mountain scapes, light and abundant stars. The endangered Cape Parrot is a regular presence in the area and we are close to the secret waterfall, a local dam, beautiful flower filled grasslands, forests and extraordinary mountain views perfect for sundowners.
Hogsback is a truly magical place, where it feels like gravity holds me here. It's a place of possibility, sacred spaces, expansive skys, intriguing forests, sparkling waters, and beautiful grasslands.
  • What a beautiful space! Enjoyed it immensely!

  • Lovely eco cabin. The view is stunning and everything was really clean. We enjoyed our stay. However the WiFi did not work and there was no toilet paper and no soap.

  • What a stunning cabin with the most beautiful view. Such a friendly and welcoming host! Loved the friendly animals around. Can't wait to go back!

  • Really cool place to relax and enjoy the beautiful area. The cabin is awesome and has everything you need to be comfortable including a wood burning fire place in the den. Helen is a super nice host and gave us great info for the area and we did a nice trail run she suggested to an 800 year old tree and tall waterfall. Great value!

  • A great place to stay! Such a spectacular view and a blessing to stay at a eco cabin.

    Anna2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you, Helen, for being a wonderful host in Hogsback. My friends and I were more than happy with the accommodation. The cabin is gorgeous and clean, and the views are wonderful. The beds were particularly comfortable and we felt right at home throughout. Thank you for suggesting we visit your sunset spot, it was the highlight of our trip. Although we only stayed one night, we wished we were staying longer and we definitely hope to come by again soon!

    Liam2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at your cottage in the sky. So beautiful from up there. The position and being high up above the trees with that amaizing view seemed to be the best place. Your view certainly was the best. There is a lovely Boma for making fires at night. The log cabin certainly blends in with the surroundings and is completely off the grid. Excellent bird watching position. Saw the elusive parrots. The rooms and beds were very comfortable and spread out. The deck out side with the views was the best. Highly recommended.

  • Great location overlooking the indigenous forests, spacious cabin with a rustic but clean feeling.

Hogsback is a small village in the Amathole Mountains (Eastern Cape, South Africa) with an atmosphere of pure fantasy. Its' magical forests, waterfalls and mountains are perfect for hiking, sight seeing, bird watching and is a botanists' playground! It’s said that the mystical forests described in J.R.R.Tolkien’s famous trilogy, “The Lord of the Rings” was influenced by the Hogsback landscape as his son was part of the Royal Air Force in the region and sent Tolkien detailed sketches and descriptions of the Hogsback forests. Treat your tummy with delicious food at different little restaurants & quirky hotels, spoil a loved one (or yourself!) with unique hand-crafted items and feast your eyes on special attractions all the way from the beginning to end of the village.
  • Anke’s teepee experience is awesome! The property is home to more than 20 rescue dogs, all of which are friendly upon arrival. The teepee is very comfortable and clean. Each teepee has its own big bathroom, and the water is hot with good pressure. Anke gave us great tips on hiking routes. We loved this stay!

    Natalie2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • 100 % AWESOME !!! This isn’t just the kind of place to stay if you find yourself in Hogsback, this is the kind of place you should drive all day just to stay at! Anke, Tyl, and her team were so warm and friendly, and the teepee village they have built is inspiring beyond words. Every little touch was so well thought out, and their artistic sensibilities will leave you with a huge smile on your face. And can we talk about the dogs?! So many sweet dogs! It is such a cool thing they are doing and I implore you to go stay there! Go cozy up by the warm fire and pet some dogs. You will not regret it. It was our favorite Airbnb experience of all time!

    Darren2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Had the most amazing time in our little Teepee which is really clean, cozy and stylish. Anke is super friendly and helpful and the animals remind you that you are supporting a local cause. Will definitely recommend

  • We loved our stay at a hogs life! Best thing to wake up in beautiful surroundings with all the sounds of the animals. There is so much to do in Hogsback too! The accommodation is incredible, we loved being able to light a fire in the evenings. Anke is really doing an amazing thing and giving these animals a second chance at life and it’s so nice to be a part of it for a while. Definitely book to stay here and support the amazing work they are doing!

    Johan2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Anke has put a lot of effort into creating the perfect “glamping” experience. It was the absolute perfect getaway where roughing it included a very comfortable bed and couch, a very cozy Mexican fire pit which was great to fight off the cold and create an amazing atmosphere. The bathroom was clean and an absolute treat to have our own private shower and toilet. Anke herself was the true gem — her welcoming and kindly demeanor made us feel right at home. The map and all the tips made us feel like locals knowing exactly where all the great spots were. It was a truly wonderful experience and we will definitely be back again.

    Duncan2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing experience! Absolutely loved staying in the Tee-Pee ~ such a well thought out room in terms of living space. Having the rescue animals around was just such a delight and added a more homey feel to me personally. Beautiful location and host was on point with the tourist hot spots :) Our time was too short so we will definitely visit again.

  • Really cool spot!

    Anel2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Lantern is a unique, romantic and special place. Loved the nights under the stars and the light bulps inside the bedroom making you feel like in a private fairy tale. In the middle of the woods, no wifif- lots of time to think, read and enjoys the surroundings that does fit into Hogsback like no other place. It is not that lonely, as looking on the pictures, as the caretakers and another house is directly beside the place, but we did not care at all. We were great looked after the caretakers and warmly welcome with a lot of tips! We would come back anytime!

    Jessi And Max2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Lantern is absolutely incredible! We stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon trip of South Africa and it was without a doubt the standout accommodation of the trip! Such a unique, quirky, beautiful building- so fitting with Hogsback- an enchanting magical place! We had mist and some rain during our two days stay which we were told was the best weather to experience Hogsback at its best, we bought firewood for the wood burner and Braai and loved the cosy vibes in the woods! We were incredibly well looked after by the hosts, great communication, and wonderfully welcoming with a wealth of local tips! Thank you, we’d love to come back!

    Sean2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Lantern is an awesome space. The architecture and design is really imaginative and original. We had a great stay in this magical house in magical Hogsback. I only wish we lived there permanently.

  • An absolutely gorgeous space. We were greeted by 4 monkeys swinging through the trees above us in the large and lush garden. Tucked in the corner of the garden, the cottage is clean and tidy and has everything you need. Gloria is an amazing host, super friendly and helpful and gave us the best tips for things to do nearby. We hope to visit again soon, and stay for even longer.

    Hannes2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately we were only 1 night in bramber cottage. Gloria welcomes us. The accommodation was super comfortable and well equipped. We had a barbecue. Everything was there, nothing was missing for the preparation. Also in the morning for breakfast. And the dishwasher was also very accommodating. The evening was quite fresh and we could make a nice fire in the oven in the oven. The garden is huge and beautiful. The cottage is just around the corner from the ecoshrine and the edge. If it is possible then you should try to stay longer than just one night. Many thanks, Gloria!

    Claudia2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Gloria's place was fantastic. Plenty of space for the four of us who were staying there. The location was perfect, food and entertainment were walkable distances from the house. Gloria was very accommodating and communicative during our stay. We couldn't have had a better host.

Camphor Cabin is perfect for single travelers or couples needing an escape. Enjoy the view of the sunset from the balcony or cosy up by the fire. Take a stroll down to the waterfall or simply absorb being surrounded by nature. The choice is yours!
Camphor Cabin is built below a Camphor Tree and is a cosy open plan spacious escape. The cabin itself is privately tucked into a soft hillside and accessed via steps which lead down to the entrance door. The open plan aspect of the design is to allow a warm and relaxed space of comfort and cosiness. The bathroom has a bath to enjoy a hot soak by candle light on those chilly Hogsback evenings. Everything has been crafted and handmade to capture the element of reusing, upcycling and recycling. The cabin is designed around being efficient and convenient. Grey water is filtered and redirected back into the contours of the hillside. Separate bins within the cabin are provided to make rubbish disposal easy and hassle free.
Organic Origins is the last property on our road - after us you head into Forestry. Our neighbours north and west of us are the trees. Occasionally a timber truck or chainsaw may be heard but otherwise we are spoilt with a serene calmness and quiet. Due to the lack of light pollution the night sky is something to behold while you stand and gaze up to the milky way.
  • What a wonderful, wonderful stay at Camphor Cottage. It is the perfect escape, surrounded by trees and the "background noise" of a waterfall. We would also highly recommend taking Jaco up on his offer to make dinner - organic, made from scratch and delicious. Our stay was cut short due to the Corona crises. However, the hosts were extremely understanding and accommodating. We left feeling restored but also inspired to always aspire to live more sustainable, intentional and organic. We can't wait to return.

    Anton2020-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect getaway. A very stylish eco-friendly cabin hidden away in a forest with the sounds of a waterfall make it the perfect retreat from a busy lifestyle. Jaco and Dayle's breakfast is a sure treat and dinner is a MUST.

    Matt2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Dayle & Jaco was the best we had on our trip. We saw some amazing birds (including the rare Cape Parrot) just from the comfort of our private deck. Jaco's food and Dayle's massages were amazing. We hope to be back one day!

    Ines2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our time staying at the perfectly designed eco cabin. Our hosts, warm and welcoming were so very kind to offer us a lovely breakfast. Fresh, home baked bread from Jaco and tangy, delicious jam and lemon curd from Dayle. The view from the deck is stunning with an array of bird life in the day and at night, you hear croaking frogs under bright stars. Thank you very much, we will definitely come back.

    Elise2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Organic Origins is characterized by its charm and uniqueness. From small details to the amazing view, this is a perfect romantic getaway spot. Finaly its worth mentioning that Dayles home made bread was delicious.

  • Location, location location :) Close to everything important. Stunning garden we had a picnic in :) Monkeys and Birds everywhere! Had an amazing stay with wonderful hosts! We dined at their restaurant at their house, brilliant food and even beter hosting! You will not be dissapointed :) (when packing, think camping though as there is no stove, pots or pans. There is however a communal braai available, or you can dine out or bring a portable gas stove and pan along. Our hosts did lend us a pan with a smile though :) ) Enjoy!

A heater was switched on so that our romantic cottage would be warm and cozy upon our arrival. We were also given the option to dine at the restaurant on the property - and wow, gourmet three course meals with lovely company! During our stay we also spent a lot of time on the stoep of our cottage and saw monkeys, turacos and other rare bird species. Laurent also gave us personalized maps and tips on beautiful hiking trails. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and actually felt sad to leave... We'll definitely be back!

  • Norma’s cottage is enchanting. She and her hubby Derrick go out of their way to make you welcome and comfortable. The cottage is so quaint, clean and comfy. The position is excellent and Norma helped us with ideas of what to do during our short visit. The location is perfect too. I would definitely go back again should I return to hogs back.

Relax on your covered patio; listen to the sounds of the forest around you – birdsongs in the morning, the chirping of insects in the evening. Enjoy the stupendous full moon rising over the three Hogs or get-up early and watch the glorious sunrises. Gaze at Tor Doone in anticipation of your walks to the several waterfalls set amongst one of the few sub-tropical mountain forests left in South Africa.
  • Norman and Jenny's cottage is highly recommended for your stay in Hogsback. The location is very central located but still surrounded by only nature; perfect for a good night sleep. The cottage has a beautiful manicured garden with many plants and flowers, + the terrace is perfect for having a braai. The cottage is super cozy, intelligently built and there is no missing link in its facilities. We attended a pottery workshop at Starways; we went hiking and visited beautiful waterfalls and we ate lunch at "The Edge". Highly recommended is the mushroom soup (but only in season available). All the information you need can be found in the book in the cottage. You immediately notice that the owners are very driven and well organized and run the cottage with love. Highly recommended! Thanks for everything.

'Trengwainton' combines rustic, old world charm with modern comforts and an exquisitely beautiful setting in mystical Hogsback. Wander through the gardens, pick vegetables in the organic vegetable garden, relax on the wide stoep or snuggle up next to the roaring fireplace. We are close to exciting outdoor activities - walking trails, mountain bike routes and the most beautiful views. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and big groups.
Beautiful old stone farmhouse, a rambling laid out garden, incredible views, rural solitude, endless walks and nature all around you.
Hogsback is a magical getaway in the Amathole mountains, surrounded by thick indigenous forests, rolling hills, waterfalls and quaint placed to explore.

The house is perfect for groups, we enjoyed every minute of our stay at this beautiful, mystical place! The photos don‘t do the place justice at all, it‘s bright, beautiful and has everything you could need or dream of for a weekend in Hogsback!

    Mike2019-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This house is set in one of the most spectacularly beautiful parts of the Eastern Cape - with uninterrupted views of the Amathole mountains. In four days we had sight of rolling mist, sunny days, a bit of rain and the most beautiful starlit skies at night! In all of this some decided to take a hike in the forests, light a fire and lounge on the comfortable sofas with a book or lie in one of the hammocks on the front porch with the mountains and the lush Protea bushes as a backdrop. We will definitely be back again and highly recommend Crispian’s house with all the comforts that five star accommodation have to offer.

High Goonvrea's Woodland Cabin is a secluded hideaway in its own large private woodland and garden. It is the perfect peaceful retreat from the world. The garden is a cacophony of colour in spring with the Azaleas and Rhododendrons. Winter can be white. But every season has its own beauty. Whether the sun is shining, or the mists are swirling Hogsback is a place of myth and magic. Just watch that you don't step on the woodland and garden fairies! Book for a magical stay.
The Woodland Cabin is a brand new retreat in its own private woodland and garden. It's small but perfectly designed to include a sitting area in front of a wood burner, a fully-equipped kitchenette with counter top oven and stove, a microwave and all appliances. The bedroom has a built in cupboard and a separate bathroom with shower, basin and toilet. There is a covered patio overlooking the beautiful old garden with table and two folding chairs. Another two chairs are available on request. A small weber braai is supplied. Explore the 15 acres of woodland and garden on this spectacular property. Walk to the top along the path at the edge of the property and then climb Tor Doone if you are feeling energetic. Or simply sit in the garden and listen to the birds. Watch out for the Turaco (or Knysna Lourie). When it launches into flight the spectacular crimson colour under its wings is visible. There is deliberately no wifi or TV in this cabin as it's designed as a restful retreat in nature. The perfect privacy and peace of this little cabin in the woods will refresh your mind and spirit. A little further off on the property are two other units should these be required: the two bedroomed Cottage and the Garden Flat.
Hogsback is high in the Amatola mountains of the Eastern Cape. As you climb up the mountain pass and leave the Karoo behind, you enter a different micro-climate and another world. Hogsback is rich in natural beauty but also has other fascinating places to visit, like the Eco Shrine and the Labyrinth, art galleries and craft sellers. During the Spring Festival many of the beautiful private woodland gardens are open to the public. Tolkien is said to have been inspired to write The Hobbit here and one can imagine how Hogsback evoked Middle Earth for him. The indigenous forests, the mountain paths, the waterfalls, the winding lanes and the quaint cottages all contribute to the air of enchantment. Experience the magic of Hogsback: hike through the indigenous forest, say hello to a Hobbit, splash in the waterfalls, climb Tor Doone, admire the fascinating outdoor art installation at the Eco Shrine, walk the labyrinth at The Edge, stroll through the open woodland gardens in Springtime, make a snowman in winter, have a delicious light meal in the garden at Butterfly’s Bistro or a more formal meal at The Edge. Or just relax in the garden and listen to the birds and cicadas. The Tourist Centre at the Gallery in the village can give you lots of ideas of things to see and do. Hogsback and High Goonvrea will always welcome you.
  • Private magically cottage- perfect escape from reality.

  • If you want the perfect relaxing getaway in a picturesque, farm-style setting then this is the place for you. There was absolutely nothing to complain about. The only thing you need to know (as was well communicated by our hosts) is that the closest shops are in the towns quite a few km away. Buy your food on your way to the place and spend a night there in utter bliss.

  • What an amazing place, so conveniently off the main road. We had the privilege of seeing snow for the very first time. The whole landscape with stunning views was covered in this white blanket all from your cottage window. Sally's place is my next trip's only destination as this is the perfect place for family time.

    Rozelle2019-07-21T00:00:00Z

Only 20 min. outside Hogsback, this eco-community backpackers has it all: great views, yummy food, cozy vibes and most of all, the exchange of cultural experiences makes it all a difference.
Situated in the homeland of the Xhosa people, this backpackers is peaceful, has stunning scenery and amazing hospitality. Sleep in traditional rondavels, eat free mielie pap for breakfast and enjoy the activities that are 100% owned and run by the people of Elundini. Elundini Backpackers is an eco-friendly place. We are 90% of the grid and depend mostly on renewable energy. Electricity is generated from our solar panels. Solar geysers and our hot water donkey are warming up our water. Rain water is harvested from the roof and stored in tanks. We do not have flushing toilets, but use compost toilets instead. Our sleeping rooms are in rondavels and are build with natural materials and have thatched roofs. In the main building we use natural finishes like wood, cane and stone, all found in the area. There is no electricity in the rooms, but we give you a solar light at night. There is a central plug point to charge phones, laptops, etc.
  • A simple and basic backpackers in a remote rural area. Had a great dinner at a villagers home.

    Andrew2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • As the name says it is a true african experience. We loved to sleep in our private rondavel. The bathroom on the outside of the rondavel was clean and tidy. The Elundini Backpackers / the village is surrounded by a stunning landscape and really peaceful. The meals were delicious and we loved to do the Xhosa bread baking in the village. Lieve and her family were very hospitable hosts. I can only recommend to stay here!

  • I loved my stay in Elundini. Lieve, her husband and the kids are lovely, the food is excellent. The box is beautiful with the good smell of straw roof. This trip allowed me to meet the villagers xhosas, to learn how to make bread over a wood fire and try the famous clicks of the Xhosa language, without much success but laughing a lot. This trip will test one of my best memories of South Africa. A big thank you to all.

Simple amenities, but perfect as a base from which to explore; we had everything we needed to braai (BBQ) and cook our breakfasts. They even provide some DVDs, board games, and puzzles for a rainy day indoors! Easy check in, clean, and comfortable. Thanks to John and Susan for making the Hydrangea Cottage available to us.

This romantic getaway lies amongst the hills of the Thomas River valley. More than a century old, the little stone cottage tells the tale of a once-flour-mill and a dear lady who called it her home for nearly 30 years. Whether you're a young family of four, or a couple of honeymoon sweethearts, come and embrace the history and ambience of these faithful walls, and experience the countryside like never before. Aunty Georgie's Mill is quaint, quirky, and the perfect country getaway.
Like we mentioned before, The Mill is quaint and quirky, and a particularly unique space. Here are just a few things to be aware of, and to set you up for success: // The cottage is triple story, with the kitchen, living room, fireplace and deck on the main floor, a cozy basement bedroom and bathroom below, and a quaint attic that sleeps two above. // You'll use a ladder to get to the attic, and go down a steep staircase to get to the bedroom below. Please be aware of this for the safety of your children and pets. // The water from the taps is rain water and is completely safe to drink. If you would prefer not to take the tap risk, bring some bottled water with you. // As part of the tranquility of the cottage, we very intentionally do not have a TV. But we would highly recommend bringing a movie on your laptop for those crispy winter days. // We don't have a washing machine in the cottage. Please pack accordingly. // We have organic braai packs, fresh from the farm available for you to purchase upon booking. Order in advance, and we'll leave it waiting for you in the freezer! // What is a farm experience without a picnic? We can help with that. At a small added cost, we'll make up a wonderful hamper of goods for you, and leave it at the cottage upon your arrival, ready for you whenever you'd like to use it. *Please note: Picnic baskets needs to be ordered at least a week in advance. Subject to availability.
If you enjoy nature and open spaces, this is the perfect spot for you. We'll have some suggestions for you when you arrive, but just for some food-for-thought, we highly recommend exploring the valley during your stay. Thomas River Historical Village is a must do, along with The Tavern restaurant. Look it up, it's worth a visit for sure. Our next best recommendation would be to visit the Granta Dam, and enjoy an afternoon canoe with the birds and the wildlife.

  • We arrived very late at the mill and got there easily in the dark with the clear concise directions. The location of the mill is beautiful and so to is the mill itself. The kids loved exploring the different levels and loved the comfy beds on the mezzanine level. We woke up early to have breakfast on the terrace watching the sheep in the fields below. Wish we could of stayed longer...

  • It a gorgeous quirky cottage stay, such a good escape. All the perfect little touches to make the stay that extra special , we also got some organic lamb from the farm and it was so tasty. Just make sure your car isn’t low as there are dirt roads.

The ideal base for a magical Hogsback stay, relax and enjoy the beautiful setting of this charming country cottage. Settle in by the cosy fireplace or woodburning stove and unwind on the verandah for stunning views of the famous 3 Hogs Mountains. Ticia's homely cottage is centrally situated down a little forest lane within walking distance of the village centre. Hogsback is an outdoor lover's Mecca with mountain biking, horse riding, abseiling, birding, waterfall hikes and more.
The enchanting garden and beautiful mountain views are what really make this country home magical. There's an abundance of bird and animal life including the rare Samanga monkeys in the garden which has a wild rambling feel with big old trees and beds of rose bushes. Fireflies are also often seen in the evenings. This unique home is cottagey and full of character with interesting knick-knacks and artworks. It is a welcoming, comfortable and clean space with a quaint rural feel to it. The bedroom has a double bed and 2 children can be accommodated in the lounge.
Hogsback has many wonderful activities on offer as well as great places to enjoy a meal or a drink. Our favourite spots are The Edge for a drink, a meal or to have a sundowner on the cliff edge overlooking the valley. Butterflies Bistro for great food (lovely vegetarian options), Away with the Fairies backpackers lookout point where you can enjoy the view from what feels like the edge of the world, and Hogsback Adventures for all your adrenalin and outdoor needs.
  • Ticias cottage is a gem I reccomend you visit. Great hiking trails nearby, beautiful garden to chill and an amazing fire place to kill time in front of. Highly reccomend it

  • This is a beautiful home to stay in in Hogsback over busy season if you are looking for peace and tranquility. We had all the benefits of being nearby the main road, away from new years crowds, with space to The garden is the highlight of this home: a place to laze under the trees and read your book, a shaded porch to eat breakfast, and plenty room to braai in the evening.

  • Had a great stay, even though we arrived late, alternatives were made for us to get the key. The house was clean and very homely. We had wood so it was easy for us to have a braai. We even had a fire place so we kept warm all the time.

  • A wonderfully relaxing weekend in this holiday home. The property and house itself are much bigger in real life than it looks in the pictures. Beautiful views of the mountains from the garden, everything you could need in the kitchen and lots of cosy spots to settle down with a book. Our 3 dogs loved exploring the garden and checking out the monkeys! Will definitely book here again. :-)

    Donna2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is charming and has a well stocked kitchen (bring ingredients though) for cooking allow for a real home style meal, while away from home. The wood stove is a treat! Loved our stay there.

  • We had a lovely visit in Maggies place. She is a darling and we felt right at home. Beautiful place and very well stocked with everything you need and extra. Thank you very much - hopefully we will have the opportunity to be back soon

  • Meeting Maggie and staying with her was a real pleasure. The house is tucked away in the forest with a great view of her beautiful garden, peaceful and quiet. Most of all we loved the large veranda where we had breakfast in the warm sun each morning (after still very cold nights in November). Be aware, though, that the dirt roads in Hogsback are in very poor condition, with deep potholes even on the main street. But the beautiful nature surrounding the place is well worth a visit.

    Verena2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Maggie is a fantastic host (even if it has to be over WhatsApp if she’s traveling 😊) and the cottage and it’s charming surrounds are truly beautiful!

Tolkien’s famous trilogy, “The Lord of the Rings” was influenced by the Hogsback landscape as his son was part of the Royal Air Force in the region and sent Tolkien detailed sketches and descriptions of the Hogsback forests. • A Hog’s Life is one of the most unique experiences you can have at an AirBNB. The host offers you a pleasant walkthrough of how the Teepee functions and gives in-depth tips on the best places to see and visit in Hogsback. The dogs are so friendly and are an extra perk to staying there. Once the stars are out and the fire in your teepee is lit, you will have an unforgettable stay.

The Mexican Chiminea fire pot in the teepee was much needed, as it was quite a chilly night in Hogsback, and it worked incredibly well.
