Places to stay in Grosse Pointe Farms
A spacious 1BR corner loft overlooking the river and two parks. Lots of light and beautiful view. In response to coronavirus, we are blocking four days of vacancy between all guests, and doing extensive disinfecting cleans of the space and linens. Kitchens are stocked with food. Convenient location off Jefferson Ave and Detroit's Riverwalk. Gated parking for one car. First time visitors to Detroit and city regulars will enjoy using my loft as a base of operations.
I have a few spaces in Detroit. If this loft is unavailable, check one of my other cool spots, including a house in West Village that can host up to 16 people: http://airbnb.com/p/detroitwildwest This loft is beautiful, open, and full of light. A perfect retreat in Detroit. I grew up in Montana, lived in India for a few years, and ran a journalism startup in Detroit called Jaunt, so I have decorated my place with remnants of my travels. I also contributed to a Detroit guidebook called WildSam Field Guides, so I can help you put together a good itinerary or fill any holes you might have. I mostly live on my sailboat during the summer and I teach Marine Science on a sailing school vessel. The loft is all open except for the bathroom. The bedroom is separated by a wall without a ceiling. The kitchen has all the basic essentials and utensils plus coffee, tea, cereal, oatmeal, etc. for breakfast. I have an HDTV with Blu-Ray, Roku, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and an HD OTR antennae for NBC, ABC, FOX, etc. Then there's the bed. Queen and super comfortable - I splurged on the bed because good sleep is really important to me. For extra guests, there is a queen pull-out sofa in the common area. The apartment can accommodate up to four (two in each queen bed) but you're starting to get a little cramped. I will decline requests for greater than four people unless you have a special circumstance. There are two A/C units: one window-mounted right next to the bed and the other in the living room space. They do a good job on the loft 90% of the time, but if the sun is glaring and it is scorching hot, they won't be able to create the refrigerated A/C frigidity we are used to with central air. The bedroom unit works perfectly if you shut the door to the common area. In the winter, you can turn the heat up as much as you like and make it toasty warm. Since I took the listing photos, I have had new counters and cabinets installed in the kitchen (it's better!). The dishwasher has also been removed per building policy.
I moved here in October, 2014 from the nearby West Village area where there are a few great new restaurants, like Craft Work, Detroit Vegan Soul, and Red Hook Coffee. The loft is on the Riverwalk, which is a bike/walk trail connecting you to downtown and Eastern Market via the Dequindre Cut, a converted rail line that runs off of the Riverwalk. I am also walking distance to the Belle Isle bridge. The building is kitty corner to a Coast Guard base, a U.S. Federal building, and the offices of a private security firm. The streets are lit and other residents of the building are frequently coming and going. I have always felt that the area around where I live is quite safe.
  • Comfy cozy. Beautiful view from the many windows.

  • We absolutely loved our stay here! We had a great Saturday night out in Detroit, but the highlight of our trip was honestly the space where we got to feel at home for the night. It was such a beautiful place.

  • I was traveling for work & instead of being stuck in a hotel for a month, I tried my luck with this Air BnB. The apartment itself was fantastic--the layout is spacious and elegantly decorated. The building itself, an old warehouse converted into lofts, was industrial & spooky at times, but the loft was incredibly homey and secure. There's available amenities--basic kitchen tools and dishes, shower amenities (such as shampoo and lotion), and bedding/pillows. Karen, the co-host who manages the loft, is great with communication and more than accommodating. If you plan to stay for an extended period of time as I did, she will even come to replace the linens and towels with fresh ones so you do not have to worry about that yourself. They even have part of the room decorated with artwork from local artists available for purchase if you are keen on taking home a keepsake from the city. This loft made me feel at home while away from my actual home for so long & I will definitely be trying to stay again given the opportunity.

  • Really cool space. It’s got that reclaimed arty vibe that I really love. The location is really cool, right by the water. I would highly recommend this place. Great price too.

No parties, period. No unapproved guest, period. If this basic rule is violated, the deposit will be lost, private security team contacted and you will be escorted out of the building by local authorities. Super simple. Please note: The neighbourhood is a music district with nearby nightclub, bar, etc with active, late-night vibe in and around building.
Guest Count: is based on total number of guest in the space---not number of guest sleeping. Please do not reach out until you have confirmed the total number of guest. Walk Through: Airbnb does not allow walk throughs prior to booking. Parking: There is a gated lot attached to the building that provides one parking space. There is also additional free street parking. Check-in/out time: There is no early check-in or late check-out. Location: The property is geo-coded at the bottom of listing. Smoking: $350 fine for smoking inside. There are areas outside the building designated for smoking.
This two story warehouse was constructed in 1914 by Jam Handy. After a successful career as an Olympian athlete, Handy pioneered visual learning and contributed immensely to the areas of motion picture production, film technology, and telecommunications. Many of the building on this block were part of his film production complex that produced 7,000+ films. This building and neighborhood continues to be a welcoming place for industrial design thinking. Henry Ford invented the Model T two blocks away, Motown's Hitsville 8 blocks away, Shinola headquarters 5 blocks away, and the list goes on…
  • Very nice loft, plenty of space, modern interior and plenty of natural light. Very clean and well kept for the most part. Highly recommend.

My husband, Matt, and I have a lovely flat in Hamtramck that has been restored to its original 1920s charm. Our style is intentional and warm, and decorations include things that we have collected through the years that have meaning to us. Equipped with a queen size bed in a spacious bedroom it is perfect for a couple or close friends! There’s plenty of room for an air mattress too. The living room has a couch, eating table, chair, and bar with stools for enjoying food and beverages. We provide a TV with Netflix access, games, and books for when you feel like relaxing after a long day of hanging out in the city. The brightness and vintage style of the kitchen will warm your heart. You will love cooking in this space, not to mention you will be provided with any cooking supplies you need. Lastly, the bathroom is large and clean with a vintage claw foot tub for a tranquil bath or shower. For longer stays, you are welcome to our washer and dryer in the basement.
Hamtramck is touted as ‘The World in 2 Square Miles.’ Located directly in the center of Detroit, it is a diverse city that has its roots in the rise of the auto industry. Anyone who loves history will appreciate the beauty and architecture that still exists in Detroit and Hamtramck. Originally a hub for Polish immigrants Hamtramck has maintained its eastern European flair and guests will find excellent Polish restaurants, markets with delicious pierogi, keilbasa, and stuffed cabbage along with a Polish Art Center equipped with treasured artifacts and souvenirs. Hamtramck also has some excellent Bengali, Indian, Iraqi and Yemeni food! • Matt and Meredith are great hosts. The Loft is very unusual and individual designed. By car its easy and quick to acess Detroit Midtown, the weather was bad so I did not try cycling. Hamtramck had loads to offer. Great place to be. I highly recommend staying there, I enjoyed it very much.

    Claudia2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Matthew and Meredith’s flat was fantastic. It was very clean, they had plenty of amenities, and were very accommodating and attentive. The flat itself was adorable!

  • I spent two weeks in this apartment for a self Quarantine as I had just traveled internationally. I can’t say enough about the spaciousness of this apartment. There were excellent cookware options, the bed was amazingly comfortable and a good supply of amenities in the bathroom. Initially I wondered about that the location but, I tried to get out every day for a walk and always felt safe. Campus Maritus was just a few minutes walk and the riverfront was a great place to get some exercise and great views! Danielle did a great job designating specific spaces: an office area, a workout space, the dining area, each felt like a separate place in the large room. I loved falling asleep looking out at the skyline! I would definitely stay here again!

Feel the industrial vibes of Detroit in this gorgeous loft, located in a 1920's automotive factory. Some features like the wood floors, pillars and steam pipes are all original. It also has exposed brick, and tall windows letting the sun shine through. Located in a quiet, industrial area Within a 10 min drive to you can get to everything Detroit has to offer. My loft and I were featured in AirbnbMag November 2018!!
This loft is clean, comfy and offers all travel essentials. Sleeping arrangements: • Full size super comfy Sealy posturepedic mattress • Sofa for 1 (not too tall) •twin bed upstairs •WiFi • Fully equipped kitchen • portable A/C, radiators, fan for temp control
Make neighbors with the old factories and pheasants~ The loft is located in an industrial and unique neighborhood. I would call it an urban explorer’s dream! The building is surrounded by a train junction and a field, a little piece of nature where you can spot pheasants and coyotes. Many buildings here have been converted into artist studios/loft buildings, community gardens, music venues and bars, but there are still many working industrial buildings. The neighborhood is down the street from Midtown. For those who know Detroit, it is not considered a sketchy area. I know this building and area well, say it is safe, but as a fair warning it may look a bit eery to those not familiar with Detroit. The people who occupy this building are friendly and it feels like a community.

Detroit International House was Detroit's only International House. Now a multi-level museum come experience the lives of the internationals who transformed an abandoned building into Detroit's coolest Airbnb experience! We have two houses on the block, so actual photos may differ, but both are lovely houses with comfortable and cozy rooms.
This is a private room with one bed workspace and clothing storage. We have 2 houses on the block with a variety of room sizes. Rooms either have single or king size beds, please inquire about availability. My place is in the Pingree Park Neighborhood. Its bikable and/or busable to downtown, Eastern Market, midtown, the Dequindre Cut and Belle Isle, Medical Center, St John Hospital. The house is fully furnished with all amenities of a typical home.
This is probably the only listing at this price range so close to two major bus lines, #6 to downtown and Eastern Market area, #8 (midtown in one direction and St John Hospital in the other direction). Driving? Its a short drive away to hop on I 94 freeway, which also connects to I-75
  • I highly recommend the house is very clean and organize I would stay there again with no problems thank you for the hospitality Karen

  • If you're looking for a great place to relax and get away from the city while you have to work during the day, this is the place for you. The people around were friendly and relaxed and a great front porch to sit and let some of your cares slide away after a long day of sightseeing or working or whatever you're in town for.

We look forward to hosting you! For local tips and things to do please check out our guidebook!
Once inside the main entrance you have a private entrance. There is a PARTIAL galley kitchen that offers everything EXCEPT a stove/oven/sink. You have your own private bathroom with a large standup shower. You have a sitting area that is semi open to the bedroom area. The third person sleeps on the couch. The area is bright due to having 3/4 length windows in the basement. The basement is only 3 steps down from the main ground level. ** please note there are two low areas where the ceiling height is good for someone up to 5’11”. If you are taller you may have to duck under the bulkhead between sitting area to the bedroom and a small area of the bathroom**
Access to anywhere in the city is easy via bus, car and/or walking. There are restaurants & grocery stores within walking distance. We are located in a quiet neighbourhood. We are only 1 km from the beautiful Ganatchio Trail. Little River corridor runs behind our home. During the summer we have kayaks available for your use. (please make arrangements prior to going paddling, waivers need to be signed) There is a strong current and we want to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable paddle. You can get from one end of the city to the other in 20 to 25 minutes via a car. We are very close to the WFCU event and arena.
  • I only stayed for one night, but this place was just what I needed after a long week of traveling. It is clean, homey and Tammy and Cruze have thought of every last thing you could possibly need to be comfortable on vacation (even snacks). Tammy was great about ensuring I was able to successfully check in (I arrived later in the evening) and that my stay was comfortable. I would definitely book again next time I am in Windsor.

  • Cozy spot with nice touches. Felt at home right away. Nice neighbourhood that’s only a short drive downtown along the river. No complaints.

  • Cosy place is clean, cosy and relaxing! Great location and would stay again! Looking forward to going back in the summer! Tammy is quick to respond and has thought of everything to make a stay enjoyable. From coffee to robes!

    Kathy2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Tammy is a wonderful hostess and very accommodating! This was my first time staying at an Airbnb. The space was sparkling clean and the only noise we ever heard was footsteps, which they were still super quiet!! They have animals and we heard the dog bark once, which we didn’t mind because we are dog people. My boyfriend and I will definitely be booking with Tammy and Cruze again! (They even left us bagels, oatmeal, fruits, and other snacks!) highly recommend!

This is a lovely home. The suite is an upstairs bedroom with private bath. There are two twin beds. There is cable tv and internet. This home is in the midst of the ‘Pointes’. Uber is available and off-street parking if you have an automobile.
Grosse Pointe Shores is one of the five ‘Pointes’. It is 20 minutes from downtown Detroit and sits next to Lake St Clair. The property is two blocks from the lake...great for a morning walk or jog. Uber is available.
The property is about a 20 minute drive to downtown Detroit....45 minutes to Detroit Metro airport. The property is two blocks from Lake St Clair.
  • The hosts are wonderful, very nice and can give great rips on places to go explore, eat and shop. The room was very private, big with sitting area for relaxing. The bed was very comfortable and I am a bed snob. Each room has its own bathroom that is very clean. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

**About that Corona virus.** If you still need to travel, a single family home to yourself is relatively safe! Intense cleaning protocol is being practiced. All surfaces are disinfected between reservations, and all linens are washed, including bedspreads and throw pillows, everything. The Duck 'N' Roll inn is a 3 bedroom home situated on a urban duck farm. A combination of contemporary features and old-time cottage charm will keep you comfortable and cozy while you enjoy Detroit's east side.
The Duck 'N' Roll Inn has been a home to journalists, documentary filmmakers, artists, performers, urban planners and explorers, and this year, a temporary home for families reuniting. It's been a joy to teach the kids about the ducks! The "Duck 'N' Roll Inn" is an eclectic farmhouse on an urban duck farm, officially known as Laid In Detroit. The farm provides pasture raised duck eggs to Rock City Eatery, as well as local residents. Located in the easy-going east side, Laid In Detroit was voted "Best Inner City Duck Farm" by the staff of the Metro Times. Though it's not so much an "inner city" vibe as it is a laid back oasis amongst urban sprawl. It encompasses 6 city lots full of trees and garden, The house has 3 bedrooms--a nautical room, and kid friendly room, and a spacious bedroom known as "the disco room," which features a large skylight, a woodburning stove, enormous chalk boards, and a sound system with a disco ball so that it doubles as a dance floor! There is one full bath with an extra wide jacuzzi tub, as well as a half bath on the first floor. The property also features a steel bbq in the form of a dinosaur, an adobe pizza oven on site, as well as panoramic views of the gardens and the ducks frolicking in the pasture. We have a new addition to the farm! Meg, the livestock guardian dog is keeping us safe from predators and prowlers. Great Pyrenees guardian dogs are known for their friendly, gentle demeanor, as well as their superior livestock guarding abilities. When you meet her, give her a biscuit and a pat. She loves guests! (By the way, the dog is off limits to the house unless invited! No worries if you are allergic or not an animal lover.) The house is full of character with a large kitchen and dining area. The property also has many ecological features, such as a green roof over the duck coop. Your stay here will not only be relaxing and fun, but educational as well. Typical guests who have really enjoyed the Duck 'N' Roll Inn are artists, urban gardening fans, photographers, journalists, film makers, animal lovers, students, musicians, world travelers and anyone with an adventurous mindset. You can also rest easy knowing that the money from your reservation is going directly to a small farm business in a developing neighborhood in Detroit. Laid In Detroit has hosts many events, including an annual Easter party for the kids.
Cornerstone Village, once a stable working class neighborhood founded by Belgian immigrants (some refer to it as "the Belgian triangle") has also been affected by the recent mass exodus from Detroit. But a strong coalition of homeowners with deep roots in the community have held things together. You will encounter some blight and vacant homes in the neighborhood. I am currently waiting for three of them to get knocked down on my street. Hoefully it will happen soon in 2019. There are characters, and oftentimes people are out and about, playing music and socializing, but it is a friendly neighborhood. All guests have had a safe experience here. I haven't had a single incident of crime since I started hosting in 2012. There are many great restaurants nearby, as well as bars, pubs, and grocery stores. The Cadieux Cafe and Ye Olde Tap Room have been around for a century. Trader Joe's and Kroger grocery are within walking distance.
  • Urban Farm/cottage vibe in Detroit’s East side. Overall fantastic spot for my week and a half long stay for work. A fantastic host, along with her friendly dog in a unique place with everything you need to to stay for short or long term.

  • The Duck 'N' Roll Inn is great! Ducks are fun to watch and Meg was fun to hang out with :) We personally loved it, but we do fit the description of people who like adventures, artists, musicians, etc. and maybe wouldn't recommend this particular place to some of our friends and family who prefer more traditional accommodations. Suzanne was very quick to respond to any questions we had during our stay, was super easy going during our time there, and very understanding when an unfortunate mistake caused some minor damage that I didn't know about before we left. All in all, we had a great stay and would love to go back sometime!

    Ryan2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! I can hardly put into words how grateful I am for my experience at this cute house! I was visiting my partner in Detroit this week and we needed a quiet place away from his small family home. This place is right on the edge of Gross Pointe so there’s amazing shopping and food. The house is so charming and has everything you need. I especially admired the vintage stove. And don’t get me started on the ducks and sweet dog! This was probably my favorite Airbnb experience yet. Would love to return. Thank you Suzanne!!

    Claire2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Eclectic and amazing space in Detroit. Close to many things to see and do. Plenty of space to hang out around the house. The ducks are amazing and fun to listen to. Meg the dog was a sweetie and we loved cuddling with her. This is an older style house but by no means dirty. It was quiet and beautiful outside at night and we felt completely safe.

  • Great location across the street from St. John's hospital and down the street from many food options. Great neighborhood, very safe and free parking in driveway. No private entrance but the entire basement is large and private for the guest. There is a private bathroom in the basement and there is a nice bed, with a desk, closet and work out equipment if you so wish to use it. Bedroom is only curtained off from the rest of the basement but no one will come down while you are there. Host is very accommodating, made me tea and made sure I had every thing I needed including extra pillows. Easy drive from the lake and downtown Detroit.

  • This was ideal for 2 people. The space was secluded and easy access. It was very clean and cozy. It was a 15-20 minute walk to downtown, so that was not bad if you like to walk. Overall, we throughly enjoyed the place and the affordability is unmatched. The host was very informative and quick to reply to any questions! Would definitely recommend!

  • It was amazing Detroit stand up

    Deangelo2020-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • We’re Detroit locals, and we were staying for the weekend while our home home being finished, and what sold me on this property vs others was that it was smoke friendly and the cleaning fee wasn’t crazy high. But I was pleased with the decision, and even though I’m not a tourist we loved the location. I had some issues with the tv connection and I got a fast response which was appreciated. Some things to think about though, the place does lack almost all the amenities that most Airbnb’s I’ve stayed at usually have. Coffee, paper towel, spatulas, plates, cups..... the kitchen is bare. There was a pot and pan, a serving spoon, some plastic party bowls, and that was about it. For us it was no big deal, we had family in the area and it was a just a quick ride for supplies. But someone who doesn’t stay in the area may have more of an issue. But fiancé and I didn’t mind to horribly.... the first night it was almost a game to see how well we could use what we had to make dinner all was well, it almost added to the experience. We would definitely one back though, I’d love to see the place in spring/summer. We’d just pack accordingly next time. :)

Creator of Scrap Bar NYC and Goodbye Blue Monday in Bk, NY, I moved to Detroit six years ago and live here, on Farnsworth St, Detroit; it's on the city's east side, close to Eastern Market, Hamtramck, Midtown and Downtown Detroit (six minutes in any direction!) and all major highways.
The space is a private room with a door that locks from the inside ensuring privacy. It's located in the middle of the apartment, behind the kitchen and bath, and has one window (see pic), available closet and storage space and a wicker-table for your stuff. it measures approximately 11' x 8 1/2' it also has a new addition - an old "left-handed desk"! i know you can't wait to see that!! yes, i also live here. please bear in mind that this is a hundred-year-old, wood frame house with 60+-year old old, scarred linoleum tile flooring. i ALWAYS keep this place vacuumed and mopped, but old is old, so what you see on these floors are permanent scars, NOT me being lazy!!
the best way to explain Farnsworth street is to look-up a story in the Detroit-Metro Times about Paul Weertz. It's a great story about the block where i live. the first photo of the white house with the white toyota stationwagon in the story is my place (and my car)
  • Nice place with stylish touches, great hospitality!

  • My family and I had an awesome short stay at Lauri’s stylish riverside apartment. The location is great and Lauri was super nice.

    Kwabena2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • From check in to check out, everything was great. A very much appreciated welcome pack was waiting for us on arrival. Apartment was clean and well presented. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was fine, with various supplies included. Living room was good with comfy furniture and a large TV for when we spent time there. Balcony was good, but we were driven inside by bugs and spiders, not a lot we could do about that though, time of year. Lauri is really helpful, we had a problem with our luggage and she helped us locate it, she insisted we speak to her if anything was needed, nothing is too much trouble. I was even offered a loan of golf clubs and a partner to play, but unfortunately didn't have the time for a game. Apartment is in a great location, totally safe neighbourhood, close to large grocery store and many independent stores, minutes walk to riverside. Would definitely stay again when we are in the area.

The place was spacious, clean, well decorated, had all the amenities needed, and she provided us with a great selection of food items to start our stay. I would definitely stay with Lauri anytime I’m in the area. Thank You Lauri for an amazing experience.

Detroit International House was Detroit's first and only International House, now the city's coolest airbnb experience. This listing is for a private room with a single bed. We have many different room styles, but all are nicely furnished with bed, clothing storage and workspace. Your stay includes a visit to our wonderful and magical museum, which tells our story.
This a private bedroom has one single bed.
House is 20-30 second walk to #6 Gratiot bus, which goes directly downtown and runs 24/7, every 15 minutes during the day. Easy access to the Greyhound bus station! 10 minute walk to #8 Warren bus, which goes to midtown in one direction and out to St. John's hospital in the other direction. Close to several major Detroit attractions, including Eastern Market, Dequindre cut, downtown, midtown. If you need a bike let me know when booking, I probably have one you can use! Easy access to Metro airport using public transportation.
  • I just needed a place to sleep after work. Despite its eccentric indoor appearance, it was a nice place to stay. The real charm came from talking and getting to know the people who came and went. I would recommend staying here if you needed/wanted to do something in the local area. The neighborhood is a little rough looking, but I had no issues for the month I stayed there. Thanks for reading my review, I hope it helps you make your decision.

A step out of the ordinary and into the extraordinary. One of kind decor and artwork throughout the entire listing. Truly a unique experience with app controlled lights. It's easy to call this place home and create lasting memories of your time here in Detroit.
The loft is a wide open space located near the heart of Downtown. There are 5 app controlled lights which can be customized to display scenes or change colors to anything you can imagine. Cable TV and Apple TV with Netflix, Apple Music and more! Artwork and photos decorate the walls along with one of a kind photos. The perfect place to come back to relax to after a crazy day in Detroit!
The neighborhood is great. Right on the Detroit River with easy access to the heart of downtown, Belle Isle or the Dequindre Cut by way of walking, biking or by car. Adjacent to the building is a newly upgraded park to mark the start (or end) of the Riverwalk which has nice rolling greens to spend a Summer day on. There is a grocery store within walking distance.

  • Wonderful Stay! Very much for an introvert!

    Gavin2020-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing stay ! The building itself reminds me of an older warehouse/factory that sometimes gets renovated for studios or lofts such as this. But don't let the outside fool you, once you walk in it'll be incredibly impressive. The unit has so many good touches and a similar vibe throughout with art on every wall. My only complaint(not really) is with all those records around there wasn't a record player ! The lighting system in the units amazing and I highly recommend downloading the app and setting your own personal ambiance.

  • Can’t stress enough how good the stay and service is , please take my word for it and book with luxe’s. Would definitely recommend every time.

  • This space was a great stay. I love the mood lights and the easy access to WiFi. The location is not to far from downtown which makes this place a great choice for its price. I can’t tell if the area is safe or not because there was some drama outside during our stay that raised concerns on area safety. but over all we really had a good time. We would definitely consider staying again.

This is a quintessential Detroit loft, capturing just what the city is all about- taking something old and making it new, breathing new life into it. This gorgeous loft is located in a 1920’s automotive factory, and has retained some of those original characters like the exposed brick, hardwood floors, wood pillars and other little details reminding all that it was a bustling factory. Located in an industrial / up and coming area. Easily access everything Detroit has to offer in 3-10 min.
This loft is clean, comfy and offers all travel essentials. It’s great for couples, small groups or solo travelers. • WiFi • Fully equipped kitchen • A/C unit • Private entrance • Parking right outside the door Sleeping arrangements: • Queen pillow top mattress • Twin bed (upstairs) • Sofa
Make neighbors with the old factories and pheasants~ The loft is located in an industrial and unique neighborhood. I would call it an urban explorer’s dream! The building is surrounded by a train junction and a field, a little piece of nature where you can spot pheasants and coyotes. Many buildings here have been converted into artist studios/loft buildings, community gardens, music venues and bars. The neighborhood is down the street from Midtown. For those who know Detroit, it is not considered a sketchy area. I know this building and area well, and I’d say that it is safe, but as a fair warning it may look a bit eery to those not familiar with Detroit. The people who occupy this building are friendly and it feels like a community.
  • The most beautiful and amazing place ! The pictures are extremely accurate! But doesn’t even do it justice all at the same time. Definitely a MUST STAY!

  • What else can I say about Jeff’s that I haven’t already said ie in my two previous reviews? Hands-down, the best Airbnb I know of in Detroit! This was my first experience of his hosting guests on the other side of the apt (at the same time) & it was NP whatsoever. Once again, I couldn’t have been more comfortable or felt more rested & am already looking forward to my next stay :-)

  • Jeff was a great host, super communicative and ready to help us out with some recommendations. The place was such a cool space and what a great location, just a bike ride away from Belle Isle and several pubs! Definitely recommend to anyone coming to the Detroit area.

His place is terrific ie an awesome space, a killer location & 24/7 security maintained at the front desk. Parking is ideal, as available in the dedicated garage immediately alongside. Plenty of good options for food & drink w/in super easy walking distance, along w the newly expanded Detroit Riverwalk :-) If you're looking for a great place in the city, you can't top it!
