Located on the Virginia Creeper bike trail, we are only a 20 min. drive from the summit of beautiful Whitetop Mtn. If hiking and biking are your thing, this is the place to stay, as we are 3 miles from the Appalachian Trail, and a 30 min. drive to Grayson Highlands state park. The town of Abingdon is a 40 min. drive. There you will find a cute little downtown with shops, restaurants, coffee, and antique stores. Bristol is located approx. 50 min. from our home, and Boone, NC about an hour.

The cozy house

The cozy house is 15 minutes to Jefferson and West Jefferson 3 minutes to Shatley spring restaurant 5 minutes to RiverHouse restaurant 15 to red dog restaurant so much to do in Ashe. When you want to relax you are able to sit and enjoy the view from the back porch and listen to the river, enjoy all kinds of birds sing. This place is a beautiful, relaxing and enjoyable. there’s no access to the river but ask me and I know a lot of places where you can go ad fish or get in tothe River!

It sits on the south side of Iron Mountain in the Jefferson National Forest’s Mount Rogers National Recreation Area and takes in the scenic views of Whitetop Mountain and Mount Rogers. This pet friendly, rustic cabin has a bedroom with a queen size bed and a loft with 2 twin beds. Enjoy the amenities of a full kitchen, bathroom, excellent wifi. This cabin overlooks the peaceful woods and has a fire pit. The 54 acre property has 0.4 miles of Helton Creek frontage (located a quarter mile away down the driveway), which boasts the best trout fishing in NC! **This cabin is up a steep road. As of 8-1-22 the difficult parts are now PAVED.

You can fish for bass, catfish and sunfish in the pond, or relax on the deck and listen to the river (if you can hear it over the crickets and frogs). The Little River (a trout stocked stream) bends just around the back of the property and you are welcome to fish there or enjoy the swimming hole.
